Eaurp Guz Rocks!

WIP and details in the read-more:

This one had a bit of a false start. For the life of me I couldnt' get the motion right.

The gif's pacing was all wrong, the hair started out not moving so it wouldn't have looped right... it looked jittery... i just didnt like it. (she's lip syncing to "saturn five" by inspiral carpets in this one. i ended up not doing any mouth movements in the final one)

so i had a play around with some sine and -cosine charts to figure out where the body and hair should be. I ended up not really using the -cos chart for the hair and just kinda animated the hair to what felt right, but using the sine wave for the body position helped a lot, and it meant i could reuse several frames for the body animation (they would be differentiated by what the hair is doing of course).

This test image uses only 8 frames instead of 12 and looks a little clunky, both because of the smaller amount of frames and also because of which positions are shown in each frame. i also made a 12 frame version (like the final version), which did look a lot smoother, but i didn't save it.

applying a sine wave like movement to Guz's head and body and then fixing the arms resulted in a much more natural, consistent, and easy to loop animation.

so i added the hair jiggling and a little hand movement to imply scribbling in some shading. The hair jiggling is honestly the most fun part.

her body was too stiff, so i um. i made it um. jiggle. and um. yeah it uh. it was too much. lol.

so i basically just averaged it, frame by frame, with the previous version.

Doing the glitter/bubbles visible in the final version was a challenge. I decided that since the hair was moving so wildly, the glitter in it could be essentially random in each frame and it wouldn't really matter. But the glitter on the face had to track with her face or it would look strange. I solved that problem by drawing the glitter on the first frame, then drawing two white dots over the eyes, and aligning the dots with the eyes for every frame (which is similar to how I aligned the highlights).

finally, here's the "concept art" (which i repurposed for the first frame)

and here's the drawing of the Saturn V rocket Guz was making (which i showed in another post). And did you notice that the earphone she's using is the one Uhura uses in TOS? :)

Guz is enamored with the space exploration histories of many worlds, but the ones with large moons (or the ones that are large moons), are her favorite. Imagine not having to wait months for interplanetary maneuvering, or decades for close encounters with your coorbital giant planet.

Ben 10 pokemon au

hi this is what ive been working on its taken me a bit

Basically my brain hasent been able to pick a fixation, so my partner suggested mixing them and thats how this au was born!

So to info dump all my thoughts ben in this au is like just really good at pokemon battles, him gwen and grandpa max traveled around a summer when grandpa max got the go ahead from the kids parents to take them pokemon training (hes a professor and was champion a long time ago though he keeps it a secret)

Bens current team: ditto, goomy, forslass, incineroar, carnevine and xurkitree

younger Bens team: ditto, machamp, haunter, white striped basculin, quilava and yanma

(Not completely sure on his teams yet) his first pokemon was ditto

Theres not much to say here that isnt written on the drawing or said in Bens so im just gonna give you her teams

Gwens current team: delcatty, mimikyu, polteageist, hetterne, espeon and tinkaton

young Gwens team: skittie, sinistea, hatenna, eevee and tinkatink

skitte was har first pokemon, and i also put it and delcatty on her shirt instead of her usual cat logo cuz i thought it was cute

Ok Kevin time! Kevin was a street kid that joined team rocket to survive, hes also pretty good at pokemon battles. He tried befriend Ben to steal bens ditto when he was younger, later figuring out he really didnt like stealing pokemon or working for team rocket, so he came to grandpa max and asked for shelter, max ofc couldnt turn him down even with all the trouble hed caused. I havent draw their af/ua versions, but Gwen starts warming up to him and dating him, so Ben kinda just has to accept that Kevin is staying, he pretty annoyed at first, but him and Kevin quickly become best friends

Kevins current team: zoroark, melmetal, alolan golem, revavroom, onyx and sudowodoo

young Kevins team: zorua, alolan geodude, varoom, onyx, bonsly and meltan

Kevins first pokemon was zorua

Rook shows up when ben is left alone cuz Gwen and Kevin go and take over gyms as gym leaders. Rook is a new gym leader who grandpa max has convinced Ben he should make friends with cuz hes pretty lonely without Gwen and Kevin, at first Ben is kinda mad about (like in the show) but he warms up to Rook pretty quick and they later start dating

Rooks team is: lucario, mienshao, heracross, quaquaval, bewear and hisuian decidueye

(I know the decidueye kinda dosnt make sense cuz its back in time and all that but lets ignore that)

putting these 4 together bcuz i feel like kurumis and desuhikos analysis dont even deserve their own post bcuz of how unsure i am abt them, halaras too kinda. i also dont have any additional drawings for them so! theres that i guess. more notes in read more if u care...

im kinda bummed that i couldnt rlly incorporate their fortes into the classpects in form of powers bcuz that would make this like 3 times more awesome. buuut it would be so hard to try and make it all work in a way that both their personalities And the powers would make sense for them as characters AND the classpects. so i had to choose and i think matching their personalities was more important. idk

im most happy with vivia. i feel like i could find sth better for halara but honestly i kinda dontttt care for halara that much in general so i probably just dont understand them enough to properly analyze them. desuhiko being heart-bound is nearly perfect if u ask me. maybe i could find a better class for him. kurumi as a heir of space is like... fine. i think i made it work and its enough but again theres probs another classpect that fits her better that i just cant figure out! oh well.

i mentioned grimdark vivia but after refreshing my memory on the horrorterrors i realized that they only communicate with derse dreamers. i could go around it somehow and say that maybe bcuz of his connection to ghosts and shit he could access the outer gods DESPITE not dreaming on derse???? idk, its a bit of a stretch. maybe he could have 2 dream selves! a wink towards his forte? this is homestuck we're talking abt. why should i look for logic here.

another idea for his dream self is that i think it would be fun if he could wake up on prospit pre-session despite not being a space player (tho im not 100% sure thats even canonically a space player thing). "hes just special like that" right. lol but yeah this guy would enjoy prospit i think.. snoozing a lot just like jade and escaping into the perfect peaceful moon world... kurumis there too like "how did he GET here" i dunno im just thinking out loud at this point ermmm

Chapter 1, Otempes does most of it

Chapter 2, Wiscara tags alongside you to take her scissors back and beats up herbrother ro do so

Chapter 3 you just go with Otempes, but THIS is when you meet Dussekar

Chapter 4 is primarily a solo mission, with Wiscara telling you where to go

Chapter 5 everyone tags along, EXCEPT Dussekar (put a pin in that for me)

Chapter 6, Tucker (who does not need to help) convinces you to take a more active approach instead of waiting for a problem to occur and then solving it (see chapters 1, 2, and 4)

Chapter 7 Base cleph and Otempes solve this, you coming along because Claire told you too.

Chapter 8 EVERYONE gets involved

2nd, Dussekar is just some guy, just some guy that got what he wanted because of a likely meaningless task

3rd, he seems to be apathetic or blatantly NOT CARE about scriptliss despite saying that he does. (put a note about the "apathetic part")

D: Well... not quite. I heard some rumors. I knew your general whereabouts, but i had no idea you were actually chained up...

D: Im sorry for not going to check up on you sooner. I figured that, wherever you were, you'd be fine on your own.

S: But *sniff* Thats how we lost 1x1x1x1 to the void, too. You assumed that he was safe enough on his own...

D: Hey, can we change the subject? The protagonist is right over there.

This shows us a lot about the characters. Dussekar knew about rumors, meaning he forgot or didnt care to check on Scriptliss, who was IN HIS. WASTEBASKET.

Scriptliss does actually bring this up in their conversation (see red text), instead of confronting this or apologising for it, he changes the subject, focusing on protag.

Once scriptliss notices this he seems a lot more extroverted and friendly from his demeanor not even 5 seconds ago. Most likely scriptliss does not want anyone to find out what happened in pr2 but he does bring up some very good points.

There was no reason Dussekar should not have been able to check in on Scriptliss. Hes immortal, Dussekars immortal, his wastebasket is RIGHT THERE.

(seriously buddy, you cant spend 5 minutes to attempt to reconcile with you only remaining friend? he seems very willing now)

idk man dussekar definitely looked like he was considering it. Its bad for antagon because hes a CHILD but its worse for scriptliss because hes immortal. like c'mon dude this is greek mythology levels of punishment.

TLDR:

Dussekar as a character seems to show that he does not care about his old friend and has no issues with sending anyone he disagrees with to infinity jail.

it gets better after apologising about screaming at antagon and talking to scriptliss though :thumbs_up:

Eddie is the type to collect figures and dice and what he can get his hands on so I imagine on Eddie's birthday Steve goes all out and buys him a set of some figures he's wanted, Nancy gets him a couple DND handbooks and Robin scrounges up enough cash to buy him a signed memorabilia (She refuses to tell him the price because she knows what it's like to want to pay someone back for a gift even when money is tight. Eddie resolves to get her a big gift when her birthday rolls around anyway, and she absolutely totally doesn't sniffle at all. Steve's a liar if he says otherwise).

Steve totally has a secret side mission of both tracking down this obscure figurine set of something Eddie likes and also keeping it expertly hidden from Eddie as to that he's bought it. There's a misunderstanding where Eddie thinks Steve forgot his birthday and gets really sad. Queue hurt-comfort :)

Nancy's Gift was books but her real (secret) birthday present is her reading through said handbooks so she can have conversations with Eddie about it in the future. (She's the acts of service type)

The kids all chip in with their own gifts. Mike and Will get him a really nice hellfire club banner to hang up in his room (Will designed it and Mike got it made. Mike is determined for Will to get more of the credit)

Dustin handcrafts and paints a D&D mini for Eddie, complete with a tiny sword and shield. It's a little rough around the edges but nobody would dare say it. Dustin also shyly mentions he has a matching one at home.

Max gets him a nicer set of headphones and a Kate Bush tape. The headphones are because Steve mentioned Eddies current ones didn't do a great job of drowning out sound when he wanted them too, but when she gifts it she says it's because he needs to expand his music taste.

Lucas gets him a bunch of movie tapes and then bickers with Erica about how bad his selection was. Towards the end of the party he also gives Eddie a really sweet card and embarrassedly tells Eddie not to mention it.

Erica draws him a ponysona and prides herself on her ability (Eddie hangs it up on his wall) and she also gives him a set of comic books that she boasts are expertly selected to fit his tastes

El makes him a badly sewn stuffed animal of a tiefling. She says Mike told her what d&d character she should choose. She also gives him a card with money in it from Hopper

Wayne makes a cake in a flavor he knows Eddie likes, and gifts him some music and a new poster. He waits until the party is sort of over to give Eddie his other gift (It's one of Wayne's old jackets that Wayne would drape over Eddie's shoulders when he felt a meltdown coming on. Eddie cries a lot about it but Wayne resolves to keep that part between them)

Eddie has one of the first birthdays he's had with friends ever, and couldnt be happier :)

so i thought i lost these pictures to time (locked myself out of my old laptop, purged my art instagram, deleted them all off the blog) BUT i found the old character lineup i did !! i forgot i had an art folder on my phone for my old art insta. i don’t know how many people remember the original art i did back in 2020, but i tend to delete a lot of the older art off the blog because i really don’t like my old art and i get self-conscious about it... but it also means i lose a lot of art.

i’m not sure if i ever did post the full lineup, if i remember correctly this version of merry was actually gender-selectable so i drew her pretty “ambiguous” and i don’t know if i ever ended up sharing her and noel. i think it’s pretty funny/interesting to see the changes both in the designs (i didn’t know how to draw or design clothes back then) and also the change in my art in just about 2 years.

first things first: no i do not know why merry is so fucking stanced. i do actually still like her design (those thigh high boots....), her & clementine’s are the two i still actually think look good here. i really like the bandana completely covering her head and i like the cowries in merry’s hair, though i think it’s funny i drew them in her hair and not noel’s when i’ve always had that as a part of noel’s character description (i still didn’t draw them in the most recent one because i forgot lol)

i do still like lea’s alchemy belt and the little bottle hanging off their other belt, too. i just wish i could remember what i was thinking with their pants. at least they’re not purple..... and they don’t even have their hooves yet :/ i remember drawing them with their hair down a lot because i couldn’t figure out how to draw a bun lmfao. rip to their eyebrow slit (but at least we have their beauty marks now... a fair trade i think)

noel’s design is the weakest in my opinion and i remember struggling the most with xem, too. not really sure what i was going for.... still have xir white boots tho 👼 and i do like xem with the longer locs in a ponytail. i cringe that i didn’t properly color his palms, i’m assuming i didn’t since i just did flat colors on all of them but i definitely still should have colored xir palms. and most obviously here is that noel started out pretty small. i think i drew this and almost immediately wanted to change his design (there are a few older pieces from this time where i Did try to make xem bigger) but i didn’t have a lot of practice drawing different body types. i’m glad that’s one thing i’ve definitely improved on since then.

it’s nice to have this to compare to the newer art and actually be able to see how much i’ve improved, and also the evolution of everyone. i remember i tried to make bases with the original lineup and i messed up every single one and couldnt use any of them again lmfao and this time i have successful bases for everyone so i can play dress up doll hehe

i also think everyone looks way warmer now and like they wouldn’t freeze their asses off in blackwater...

i also clearly went back to a more illustrative style - back in 2020 i was looking at a lot of animation and drawing my characters in that way, with flat colors and not really rendering anything, and now i’ve started moving back into a more painterly style. anyways. pretty cool! also i just realized i even coincidentally lined them up in the same order 🥺

re: the tags in my last reblog - have some old/abandoned art of my hornet gijinka + star wars au designs this is gonna be a long post oops first was before i figured out how i wanna dress my hk gijinkas (still kinda proud of it esp the facial expression even if i didnt wanna shade it properly lol) second is her pretty much figured out design in training clothes, plus drawings of her as a togruta jedi (i should really get back to that au i love it so much) third is an unfinished thing from like half a year ago (damn) and thats what she wears post sealing of the black egg temple generally although maybe i shouldve given her more visible bags and stuff idt she would leave Everything at her camps right

she has a rope dart because thats what her attacks remind me of most, not the proudest of how heavily i referenced the bottom pose from another artist and idt i would do that as heavily now? but something something growth

Hornet knew things were getting worse for her beloved Hallownest, but she could never have imagined that her own father would destroy their home, locking himself in a dreamworld she could never access. Hornet realized she’d never see the palace again, and let her tears finally flow; there was no longer a kingdom for her to rule anyways. (Please excuse my inability to write LMAO) For clarification: the tiara on her head is imaginary and I imagine gijinka!Hornet impulsively shattering her actual tiara once she realizes Hallownest has gone past the point of no return. The phantom tiara + the Hallownest seal in the background indicates how she’ll always be royalty and cannot distance herself from her father’s legacy.

Okay, so the first realm of the 16 realms was the oni and the dragon. The dragon had the power to create, and the Oni to destroy. Then a child, the first spinjitzu master I assume, was born and understood balance. The child left the realm to start a new one called Ninjago.

okay so i completely forgot all of ninagos backstory so when people started drawing Lloyd with Oni and dragon features I was so confused.

Okay, so. Either Wu has more dragon blood, and Garmadon has more Oni blood. Or they both have an equal amount of DNA from either sides but the bite of the great devourer had Garmadons Oni side more prominent.

I keep forgetting that Vengestone can ACTUALLY be stable against the ninjas powers. And apparently there seems to be a LOT of it since everytime their locked up its used. Its used by the police force and if Villains have it, then I can assume its at least a product in the black market.

I dont know. vengestone just seems so fascinating to me. I really hope a villain comes along and uses the properties of vengestone to conquer the ninjas powers, leaving them to fight powerless. I think thatd be really cool.

Ruby Rose has a thing for mysterious black haired women with yellow eyes and a dark past who have a soft spot for her. Blake and Cinder fit this description well enough for Ruby, and she doesn’t know what to do about her double crush— that may or may not be reciprocated!

Ruby sighed as she doodled into her notebook, dark hair and amber eyes seemed to haunt her on each page, each pair of eyes belonging to one of two girls that she couldnt seem to get off her mind no matter how hard she tried. Every careful pen stroke seemed to only bring out the features of the two girls she saw until she growled in frustration and slammed her notebook shut. “Gaaah!” 

Weiss rolled her eyes and quietly closed her own book. “You know you’re supposed to be studying, right?” 

“I know, I know, and I’m trying. I just have… other things on my mind.” 

“Like Cinder and Blake?” 

A blush lit up Ruby’s face. “What? N-no, of course not.” 

“I could see your doodles,” Weiss said in a matter of fact tone. “Look, if you cant focus on our lessons-” 

“I can focus!” Ruby opened up her notebook again and frantically started flipping through the pages. “We uh… we were talking about the Great War and how Atlas-” 

“That was last week.” 

“O-oh, then… it was about ursa migration habits-” 

“Three days ago.” 

Ruby sighed and slumped in her seat. “Oh…” 

Weiss sighed and shook her head. “Dust, Ruby. We were talking about the known history of dust and it’s uses outside of combat.” 

“R-right…” 

“But since you’re having a hard time focusing, then maybe we should call off our study session-” 

“No, we cant just give up because of one misfocused thought!” Ruby paused as she realized she was halfway over the table and slowly sat back down in her chair. “I-I mean, I like our study sessions and its the only way I’ve been able to keep up with class work.” 

“And these sessions are pointless if you cant focus.” Weiss started to pack her books away. “You havent been able to focus for weeks, Ruby. And clearly, these study sessions arent helping your grades anymore than just throwing you into class and expecting you to not fall asleep.” 

“But Weiss-” 

“Talk to them, please. For the sake of your grades, talk to Blake and Cinder about how you feel.” Weiss sighed and looked over to Pyrrha who was talking to the rest of her team. “Trust me on this one, you cant let your feelings get in the way of your grades. So if you cant move past them, then go with them and try to get things back on track. If all you’re going to do is draw them in your notebook, then what’s the point of trying to study?” 

Ruby watched Weiss walk off and slumped against the table. Her partner had a point, if she couldnt keep her head straight when studying, then why bother wasting time with it? She slowly got up and packed her things to head back to the dorm. Her mind was lost in thought as she walked through the hallways of Beacon, still unable to get her thoughts away from Blake and Cinder. 

“Ruby, I was looking for you.” 

Ruby was pulled out of her thoughts by Blake’s voice and her heart started to pound in her chest. Her cheeks started to go red with a blush. “O-oh, Blake. What uh… what did you need?” 

“I was hoping that maybe you’d be free later today to try out that new cafe opening in Vale,” Blake said as she walked up to Ruby. “Cinder and I were talking about it and thought you’d like to join us for tea there.” 

“You and Cinder talking? I thought you hated each other.” 

“No, we uh… we had a bit of a misunderstanding.” Blake’s cheeks warmed with a blush of her own that she hid from Ruby. “But we think we’ve worked things out and figured a few cups of tea might help us clear the air a bit.” 

“Oh, yeah, sure, I’ll be free.” Ruby took out her scroll and started to make note of the cafe date. “And I was hoping I could talk to you-” 

“We can talk at the cafe, alright Ruby?” Blake quickly pulled Ruby into a hug and rushed off. “I’m running a bit late to meet up with Sun. See you around four?” 

“Y-yeah, four works…” Ruby sighed and leaned against the wall with a deep breath. Her heart still raced as she tried to relax. “Who am I kidding, Blake could have her pick of anyone? Why would I think she wants me?” 

“Because you’re kind and frankly her type,” Cinder said as she walked down the halls. “Which reminds me, did she talk to you about the cafe?” 

Ruby nodded and tried to hide her blush once more. “Yeah, she uh… she just told me. I’m still a bit surprised that the two of you want to be in the same room together.” 

“We cleared the air between us and realized we were misunderstanding the whole time.” Cinder smiled a bit and offered a hand to Ruby. “Would you like to join me for a bit? We still have a few hours before the cafe officially opens and I was hoping we could spend a bit of time talking.” 

“Talking about what?” 

“About us. And you and Blake.” 

Ruby practically choked on air. “W-what? I mean… there’s nothing to talk about-” 

“Sure there is. You’re cute, Blake and I like you, and we know you like us. Not like you’ve been able to keep that a secret with the way you glance at us.” 

“I-its not-” 

“And while I’ve made an understanding with Blake, I think its time that you and I both have a real chat.” Cinder gave Ruby a warm smile. “I’d like to get to know you the same way Blake’s gotten to. You’ve been her partner for a year, think you can afford me a few minutes to see what she sees in you?” 

Ruby nodded and took Cinder’s hand. “Y-yeah, I can… I can do that.” 

Cinder grinned and slowly walked with Ruby, her eyes glanced over her. Step one to her plan was a success, and she could only hope the next step would be just as successful during the Vytal Tournament.

not by mood persay? ill organize playlists by genre or artist or whatever theme i have going on, but in terms of like what im listening to it just depends on the day and what I feel like! the only thing i'll put on specifically for a mood is when im feeling off or depressed i might listen to more grunge.. but also i may put on something funky and dancey cause i dont wanna get any more sad hdfkjghdj

depends on the dreams! i have ABSOLUTELY had a series of prophetic dreams (a few months before i found out we were moving to my Omas i had about 4 or 5 dreams in a row that were set at her house and i couldnt figure out why) and have had other dreams that definitely had something to do with how i had been feeling irl at the time, but lately most of my dreams are about visiting my mom 🥲 and by lately i mean for the last year or so sfhkjgdfhgjk. theyre all to do with visiting my mom, visiting my grandma & my mom, or going to the little island where i grew up, or mostly just a mix of all those things. idk. i have very very vivid dreams u should never ask me about dreams i will just go on and on im making myself stop HJKLDFHG

I wanted to go through some unused sprites from lovely sweet dream! Cause that's always fun!

This was Lulu's original dream design. I've posted the art for it before. This was from very early concepts but I thought it was too bright for the overall theme. Although, the idea of a bright dream appearance in contrast to how brown Lulu usually is is a fun idea. There are also two unused possible friends like Touma and Amilia. They didn't get very far.

A mermaid effect was thought up with the other designs but there were a few issues. A) I didnt have an underwater area planned and didnt want to :P and B) I wanted her to have different appearances on land and sea and also an idle animation for underwater and uhh i didnt know how to do that (im sure there was a plug in but eh). Maybe one day she'll return

Happy Town and a Dead End one. I did want the train conductor to wave her flag as you set off on the train but the animation just didnt look good so i gave up quickly :P I wanted the axe alley girl to look at you when you approached but I couldnt figure that out. Getting the animation to work on its own was hard enough... Dabbled with the idea of having a spinny girl similar to the princess from LSDde in the castle but since I'd also designed the other princess and she suited better, she ended up getting evicted. And a little familiar friend... hm... was meant to be in Dead End but I opted out of it, there's already a youtuber reference in there and I didnt want it to feel a little too silly

Candlemas girls. Most of these are just 'you can't see the full appearance in-game' and an unused jug lady that probably ended up as the one from Dead End

And the odds and ends. A girl that was meant to be in the apartments area along with the doll and teddy. She's cute but just never found out how I wanted to implement her... v-v Dead girl for the dark city, inspired by LSDde ghost women An out of water pill bug from OIL. I opted out of having them on the boardwalk cause they're so thin it would be annoying if they were in your way. And full body versions of the forest characters that you never see. Sometimes I think I should have done more with them but... I guess an optional part with no reward is fine, the reward is seeing them reunited

And full face sprites like Paint and Miss Pretty. The first was an idea for LOVELY being made up of other dream denizens but I thought it was too silly rather than scary, plus it doesnt really look like LOVELY XT The red demon turned into the ambush in the dark city. I think I didn't know what else to do with him. And the final is the Lined Girl's victim. I suppose it could have worked for a rare scare or something like that, another one I didn't know what to do with. I still like the drawings though.

Decided to draw all the fish I have lost so far and name those that didnt have names. I think it helped a little..Keeping fish can be so fucking rough..

Causes of death of each under the cut:

Pandam: First fish to die, cause unknown. Happened like a week after purchasing them and the first group of corys. Kept away from the others while alive and was lethargic. Found him severely injured one morning (i think the pleco or snails might have attacked him in his weakened state) put him seperate in a bucket of water and a few minutes later he was gone. burried him (Like all the other deaths except the shrimp and one of the rasboras) in one of my flower pots.

Lil orange: first was flashing herself against plants and decor, her and lemon were acting strange for a long while before i finally figured out it was worms (caught them hanging out their anusses one night with a flashlight) however the worms had injured her and weakened her too much and eventhough i medicated, she succumbed to them and secondary infections/injuries.

Nuv and Dix: freak accident that im still not sure how it happened. They both ended up lodged between my filter sponges. I found one of them still alive, got them out of the filter and put them back in the water. However they had suffered too much stress and injury and could no longer swim. Put them in the bucket so they could at least die in peace and they passed a few minutes later. Then for a couple of days I noticed that another one was missing. I could only see 8 while it should have been 9 after that death. Then next filter maintenance i found a slimy fleshy heap attached to one of my sponges which i assume used to be the missing rasbora that i must have missed when i found the other one..

Mom shrimp: White ring of death. I assume it was all the waterchanges i did in a short amount of time because of the medication. She had eggs who were already quite developped. I left her in the tank to be eaten by the others so her nutrients could be recycled at least

Lemon and most of her babies: Lemon finally gave birth but most babies were stillborn and then eaten by the other fish. at least 3 fry survived but 2 are now stuck behind the filter with no way for me to get them out of there so they will probably starve to death and i feel absolutely awful about it..but at least one baby is still alive and growing, swimming around the tank grabbing lil food scraps here and there. Tentatively naming them lemon baby

After giving birth, Lemon still remained very swolen. I first thought that maybe she still had some babies inside her but even days later she was still swolen. She developped a dark spot visible under the skin and while at the beginning she could still swim fine, near the end of her life she was constantly at the surface and couldnt swim well. I tried giving her salt baths and while at first she acted more active in the salt water, it didnt really improve her situation. I was thinking of putting her down but didnt have a container to mix the clove oil in yet..then one morning I found her dead, the black spot gone but her insides looking quite red. I suspect the black spot was either a tumor or a cyst filled with blood that then popped and she internally bled out. Im still not entirely sure what caused it, maybe reproductive cancer?? Dont think it was worms again because i didnt see any. she didnt eat or poop from what i could see either.

Loki: The fish i put down with clove oil today. He had been breathing heavily for a long while. He was also paler than the others and less active. He held his fins clamped and was less reactive and seemed to struggle with getting around. When the water was medicated before i didnt see the symptoms improve and the other panda corys are active and looking healthy. And corydoras are very sensitive to salt from what ive read so i couldnt try that route. So…I decided to put him down..when i caught him in the net he struggled like crazy which made it even harder on me. I even thought about letting him go but then he would just continue to slowly waste away..and i didnt want him to suffer. So i put him in the bucket and added the mixed clove oil. he slowed down and then eventually lied on his side, i added another higher dose and then he was gone. Waited 20 minutes to make sure he was really gone and then burried him. I didnt see anything obviously wrong when I examined him before that so its again very hard on me. making me doubt myself.

Keeping fish can be heartbreaking as you cant take them to the vet or even examine them yourself easily since they are so small. So unless it's an obvious external fish disease (like ick or mold) you don't know whats wrong with them and you can only throw general medication at them in hopes it works. I will be okay..I still love my fishtank as I enjoy watching it but it sure is a cause of stress and worries..
