As a little kid my mom used to tell me that one day I would find the love of my life just like she did with my dad, swooping cursive letters, heart shaped chocolate boxes and cheesy dates. I stopped searching for love.

But when she was laying on the floor sobbing, I was the one who picked her up and held her, when she was wounded I was the one who patched her up, even if it meant losing myself in the process, there was no other way, it felt right, cause I was no longer a child.

I stopped crying.

She would skip lunch, eat vegetables at dinner and split portions at restaurants, look at herself in the mirror and pinch at the loose skin with a look of grimace on her face. Talking about her weight constantly, about how she gained so much weight lately and how I ruined her body when I was born, remarking that lately, I've gained some weight too.

I stopped eating.

From a very early age I decided not to have kids, If somebody asked me I would say that it's because I don't think I'd be a good mom, and it's not completely a lie, in the end I don't know what it's like to have a mom, so how could I be a good one?

I have a question for you what do you think of the quote unquote age gap between Bloom and Valtor?

I had to do alot of research to understand Bloom age when I started to like this ship better than Mr cheater. So here's a brief information dump:

Bloom is 16 in the first episode and its confirm her bday is December 10 (we don't know the the exact year when each girl was born only the fact Stella is the oldest by that logic Bloom is the second youngest out of the group) when we get to season 3 it is confirmed that the girls is in their 3rd semester so that makes Bloom 19 at point. Valtor's age we do not know however I'm going to say at most early 20s from what we know Valtor working with a younger Griffin before he got Popsicled.

Here comes the tricky part. In s4 the girls just finished their semester and graduated making them 20-21. Up until s5 where Nicklodeon had to reboot their age making them 16 again. Flashforward to s8 and that makes Bloom age 19 if you are following the reboot or 23 if you do not follow the reboot. Since we don't know how long Valtor been frozen his mental age is up for debate.

For me personally I don't see Sparxshipping as an Edward and Bella situation as Edward was aging naturally during his years while Valtor was frozen and couldn't age naturally but only mentally.

Okay okay first of all! Your Bloom math checks out and I just realized that I for some reason always thought Bloom is 18 in s3. Which is still possible, I think, I just dont know why I assumed that. Actually no, it works, if she is 16 in s1 she is 17 in s2 and 18 in s3, but we dont know a lot about how the school years work in Magix so I'm gonna jot her down as 18-19 for the remainder of this post.

Still dont know how I passed math btw.

Anyway. Valtor's age is where the real mystery is at. We've got two possibilities in my opinion.

1. He's pulling the ageless immortal card.

My personal go-to for fics and discussions. Love me some 300 year old mommy issues. He has too much practice being a messy bitch, there's no fixing this man folks.

Evidence: There's a flashback showing him with Griffin as a tween: she looks MUCH younger, he looks exactly the same. Unless he also stole the secret magic of the world's most potent anti aging cream, or Griffin's proximity to Faragonda just aged her by three more decades, he does not age.

2. He is the age he looks.

Which, in my humble opinion, would not put him anywhere near twenty. That is a grown man. He's not college age, unless you count college professors under that word. Even if I were good at guessing ages the very stylized art style would throw me for a loop, but im gonna say 40s, give or take. Look at Avalon, look at Codatorta, look at King Radius if u must. That is the age range we're looking at.

Evidence: I dont have any. We're ballin'. I guess it's never explicitly stated he's immortal, which you'd think would be big enough of a deal to mention. If u got something feel free to let me know.

That being said, the Winx Club Wiki page for the canon timeline (ha, good one) puts the time of Valtor's creation in a rough time frame from "Over 17 years before season 1" to "Under 100 years before season 6". So he could technically be anywhere from 17-97, though I'm not sure the upper limit is as reliable as the lower one, given the check-list format of the website. So make of that what you will.

Now that we've got the question of age out of the way, lets get to the age gap. I have no idea what the situation in twilight was to be honest, so I cant compare that.

Realistically, there's at least a decade between Bloom and Valtor. Possibly two decades and change. And that is just from visible age, we can add a few centuries on top of that if we're sticking with the immortal bit. I'm gonna be gonest, I dont think being frozen for 17 years will make a whole lot of difference here.

If you find that icky, which is fair, you can always change that for fics tho! Either turn him into a twenty year old or put Bloom in her milf-era, the options are endless. Personally, I think the age difference is half the fun though, and also the least of their issues. When you're off making out with the objectively worst person in history, wether he's too old for her isnt gonna rank very high on people's list of concerns.

• tails home smells like rotten fish (or knuckles said that out of pettiness, both are very possible if u ask me!)

• Shadow is just a bitch like theres literally no purpose to his actions he's just bitchy and edgy god bless him.

• Sticks technically should be the town's mayor !! she obviously doesnt see herself fit for that role so she keeps being the hero of the hedgehog village.

• Sticks gave the name of hedgehog village in honor to Amy, thats so sweet ( this name lately gets roasted by the robots from, how i prefer to call it, robot utopia )

• Amy has or has had important roles on the village besides being a local hero (participated on the election of the name of the village, and i dont remember the name but she had a part on the protection team por endangered species).

ooooo oh ok ok. this ones touchy. while i dont think its that present in canon i do think its there and worth the however many fics there are about it. like obvi theres probably a lot of boring and/or bad takes about it but the concept itself isnt running contradictory to canon or anything. i reread aditf a bit for this and had some tangents ill put in another post, but back to mommy issues.

jason had very little parental presence in his life at all. dads in prison, moms sick, he has no one looking out for him. probably why he and bruce seem to have bonded fairly quickly and jason accepted him as a father figure faster than any of the others. jasons bar for what makes a decent parent was nonexistent bc hed never really had someone dedicated to taking care of him. (even damian was hesitant, bc bruce being his dad would create distance between him and dick bc dick would no longer be his mentor, and hed gotten a bit attached)

jason accepted bruce as a father, but still missed his parents. he loved and grieved for both of them and most likely missed the idea of having normal parents in general in addition to missing his parents themselves. his love for his mom is still there when he realizes shes his step-mom instead, but it's accompanied by the hope that he still has living family out there.

the fact that jason went on a mom hunt in the first place is already enough that im like, yeah, i see where the mommy issues talk comes from. but i think you can go a few different directions with it

so theres catherine todd, who we only really know as being sick and a substance user throughout jasons childhood up until her death. iirc she died while willis was either already dead or in prison and so theres a period of time where jason (10-12ish?) would be taking care of his mother alone. being your mother's caretaker when you're still in elementary school does not make for a normal relationship.

and sheila haywood was uh. an illegal surgeon of sorts who fled the country and started a new life. apparently had an existing connection to the joker when she lived in gotham. he knows who she is and he knows how to blackmail her. while sheila describes it to jason as an operation gone wrong, joker calls it an "illegal surgery that killed a teenage girl" and sheila didnt seem to dispute that. probably watered down a lot of details in her explanation to jason. (the combination of 'illegal' and 'teenage girl' feels like it could imply an abortion? but it's left vague) and THEN it turns out she was stealing money meant to be used to save starving refugees before the joker even showed up. she sure is something. she still tries to help jason after he helps her, but don't skip over the part where she helps him after he helps her. she is still a person, but she is a fundamentally selfish person in every way. her final words include her commenting on how jason was a good kid who loved his mother. ive seen people take her final moments as a show that she still loved him, but i don't see it. one of those "a person doing a fraction of a good thing doesnt absolve them of everything else" kind of deals.

in both cases jasons mother(s) were relying on him. he never had an opportunity to be cared for and treated like a child. i don't think jason would have specific "mommy issues" about either of them, i think that he'd have some heavy feelings about the concept of a mother itself. what's it like to have a mom? does he still have a chance to be cared for and nurtured? his childhood was over before he had even met batman. becoming robin and being murdered is just tripling the issues he would've already had about his childhood regardless.

this is starting to veer off topic but

yes im finding a way to make this about Brothers in Blood. bite me. but even the first time i read this something that really stuck out is how jasons imaginary version of dick refers to him as a kid. dick doesnt really... do that. he did back when jason really was a kid, but this page says a lot about jasons self perception. he still wants to be taken care of, even if its not specifically "mommy issues" he definitely yearns for a chance to be treated like a kid again, after having rarely gotten that kind of care when he was a kid. I'd thought post ACOSF we'll see Nesta getting along with Inner Circle but we're back to block 1 and it's somehow worse this time because of that Ember:s bonus chapter. Now the people who thought Nesta is miserable in the night court are no longer a loud minority because half the fandom is against Rhys/IC and worst, even Cassian has become the most hated character. I can't even blame those people because what even was that argument between Rhys and Nesta? Where the fuck is Nesta's sister who also happens to be a ruler? Ember coming to her rescue like she's some little baby in need of a mommy 😭 Didn't see this coming at all. What a shitstorm honestly.

Yeah, this all makes little sense because if Rhys still hates her and doesnt trust her, then why is he giving her all these responsibilities, especially with Bryce and Trove Objects.

If her saving everyone's lives wasn't enough to mend the relationship between her and Rhys, then he should've just let her be and live in HOW and do the Valkyrie thing.

I dont know if this is SJM's heavy handed way of showing 'conflict' and how 'Rhys isn't perfect' (which we know already, so no need to drill it down).

I, honestly, am confused by Cassian's role in all of it too.

What IS his role? I don't understand anyone's roles, tbh. Like what's Nesta's role? Does she work for Rhys? Is he yelling at her as an employer, as a High Lord, as a brother-in-law, or something else? Is this a political/security issue or a personal one between RHys and Nesta? Because it's unclear, it's messy.

I understand people's frustration with the dynamics because they don't make sense. For example, is Cassian not standing up for Nesta because it IS a political issue, and therefore, he is acting as the General, and not as a husband? Or is it because he just automatically always sides with Rhys no matter what, and therefore, Nesta doesn't have a supporter in him?

he once ate his way through an entire pizza box solely to eat the cheese off of it! he has also ripped into a bag of doritos and cereal solely because he is a gremlin. we cant have ANY food outside of a bin or cabinet or he will find it and eat it. he can also open doors ???

he has two favorite places to sleep! one is that crappy basket on the right that i wove for a college class. the other is a cardboard house that his butt has nearly ripped in half!

despite being the younger brother, he's the more dominant one! he tries act like hes all tough when it comes to simon but its a hard facade to keep up when he keeps play-tackling alucard! they still love each other though; hence the spooning. it always makes us happy when they sleep together <3

whenever my fiance leaves the bed, alucard immediately gets up and runs to his spot. it feels like hes always just waiting for him to get up so he can come and spoon me

these photos are also making me consider if hes a shapeshifter because why does he look different in every picture

alucard is also a WORLD CLASS WRESTLER . he may be on the ground, but he knows exactly what hes doing. i dont think him and simon should be in the same weight class though 😳

these pictures are mostly just funny to me. whenever we're watching tv and he wants attention, he sits on top of our fLAT SCREEN TV??? he does this all the time and i ??? i dont know why

he also does pull-ups on the oven door apparently. it was off and nothing was hot; he just wanted the food smh.

EZEKIEL

His birthday is April Fools Day and that could not be more fitting. Despite being a little old man at 12 (almost 13!) years of age, he’s still very playful, energetic and affectionate. He regularly wakes submitter up because he wants cuddles. He also likes to play fetch and steal salty snacks.

He’s a very good boy who comforts me during anxiety attacks. My family and I call him Ezie for short and he isn’t afraid of anything, be it fireworks, thunderstorms or vacuum cleaners. Other nicknames include “stinky old man,”“sneezy,” and “cheese weasel.” Because he also likes to steal cheese. He will take it right off your sandwich.

SUMMER

She’s a Siberian, and she’s submitter's emotional support animal she’s such a good baby and they would kill for her! She has a whole host of chronic health issues but she’s handling it like a trooper. Beloved by all friends family and vet staff she deserves the world!!

now some people may see the question "who in the torchwood team would make the best spiderman?" and immediately answer ianto jones. i see your reasoning. but consider this.

owen harper.

he has the brains. a big part of spiderman is that he's a huge science nerd. gigantic math nerd. now i love the rest of the torchwood team but they are not as nerdy and insane as spiderman with the exception of owen and tosh.

now toshiko has the brains to be spiderman but does she have the snark? the new york hater inside? the banter? i dont see it. she can definitely be snarky in her own way but not in that classic spiderman way.

so that leaves dr. owen harper himself. so far he has the nerd and the snark. what about the dead parents you say? well his father is dead and his mom? oh boy. you cant spell mommy issues without owen harper. he got kicked out of his house at sixteen ect ect.

oh! and if we want to talk about lovers, who's girlfriend died because of torchwood? tosh? yes. ianto? yes. owen? also yes! so all three fall into the dead girlfriend trope. looking at you gwen stacy.

also owen harper has that insane sense of responsibility that spiderman has. with great power comes great responsibility? owen literally says that "i thought if i could save one life, mine would be worthwhile. but you save one and there's another, and another, all clawing at you, demanding to be saved. and even if you do succeed, you can never save enough." like hello? spiderman.
