I wrote a bunch of paragraphs about nothing in particular again so here it is under a readmore so it doesn't take up space.
like 8 years ago when people used tumblr more via desktop browser than its app, I put a 3rd party metric tracker in my desktop theme that logged how people were referred to my blog. it also captured what pages of my blog people viewed.
at one point during this time I reblogged a piece of pixel art from a japanese artist. they came to my blog through their activity page, and then searched my blog in a couple different ways for the terms "ドット" and "ドット絵" ("dot" and "dot art", as in pixel art). I checked those search urls myself to see if they found anything but there were no results because I never used those terms or specifically tagged pixel art in any other way.
ever since then I've made an effort to tag all pixel art I reblog with the term "pixel art". that artist was probably hoping to find more art to check out and it bums me out that my tagging system wasn't thorough enough to help.
this is why I have my current specific tag system lol. it keeps evolving but having the ability to find stuff you're into without jumping through hoops is really handy. (the site-wide post and tag searches return sooo much bullshit. it's a slog sifting through thr noise whenever I use those to fill my queue due to the sheer amount of manga caps, polls, liveblogs, personal posts, and fics posted without readmores...)
if only the way to view all tags you've ever used still worked. I think it caps at 500 or 1000 now and is also chronological so the first 500 or whatever tags you ever used show up in the list. then there's a hard stop and it does not update as you delete posts or use that mass tag editor to remove certain tags for your blog entirely.
I went through my used tag list earlier this year to unify certain tags and remove tags that I stopped using in favor for other ones, but I only got like 400 tagged terms down the list. maybe downloading my blog data would show more. the trick I mentioned uses your desktop blog's archive page. the tags are in its code so you can use "inspect element" to view it. I remember scrolling a lot to load a bunch of posts on the page but cant remember if this was required or I just did it to see if I could access more tags.
it's formatted all fucked and hard to manage but you can copy and paste the long chunk of tags into one cell of a spreadsheet and then use Data options to split them into columns by commas (or whatever punctuation separates them, I forget). a wide list is a huge pain to view so from there you can click on a cell containing data, click ctrl+a to highlight all data in thr row, copy, then paste special as "transposed" to turn the copied row 90° so it pastes as a column. the spreadsheet will wide as fuck from the hundreds of columns so honestly its easier to paste the transposed data into a new tab and delete the original vs clicking in the column to the left of your transposed data and then pressing ctrl+ shift+right arrow to select all rows to the right, then deleting the extra rows.
if you're in Excel you may have to use the "delete rows" option from the "home" tab and then save the sheet using "file > save" (do NOT save via the save button on the upper left corner or ctrl+s). this returns the sheet to a manageable size for scrolling (plus reduces its file size). this piece of shit software usually retains the sheet width/length even after you delete hundreds of columns/rows unless you use this trick of deleting specifically via home tab + saving specifically through the save menu.
I got a round number of tags when I did this which makes me think there's a cutoff.

why tomura reads like a sexual abuse survivor
Tumblr media
ive noticed that a lot of survivors - including me - easily read tomura as a csa survivor. ive decided to try to put these impressions into words, mostly for myself, but also for anyone curious as to why he’s so frequently read this way, or why i personally write him as such. i will mostly be elaborating on the reoccurring sexual assault imagery and csa survivor traits tomura exhibits.
triggering themes ahead, including discussed child sexual abuse, incest (sibling and pseudo), trauma and its effects, and sexual assault imagery (from the bnha manga itself). also spoilers for the most recent manga arc.
(disclaimer: i realize symptoms of trauma are pretty much common all across the board, and depression also comes with a lot of these behaviors - but there are some that crop up more commonly in cases of sexual abuse (especially from a young age) than in others. csa survivors also frequently end up with depression, too, so that doesn't necessarily take away from it.)
i’ll start with the cover above. the hands touching him here are much more expressive than the ones he usually wears. it's also framed in a way where you can't see the ends/cap things very well, and they don't appear so symmetrical, making them feel much more like real, living hands grabbing him.
there's also the fact that his face is exposed, which is something we had rarely seen him do willingly at this point in the manga, and even when he had he was still covered up with a hoodie or completely alone. the way he's covering half his face gives off the impression that he's not okay with the way he's exposed.
all of that, plus the obvious distress tomura is in, gives this very glaring assault vibes.
also, the hands on his head are clearly someone's actual, living hands as well. my guess is afo, especially since they seem to be petting him, which is reoccurring imagery between tomura and afo.
Tumblr media
tomura's total lack of privacy
Tumblr media Tumblr media
there's a clear lack of boundaries between tomura and the adults in his life. most of the spaces that seem to belong to tomura (the bar - he feels safe enough there to take Father off, and his room) are accompanied by cameras and audio transmissions from afo. he has no privacy, and doesn't even seem bothered by this fact.
he also doesn't seem to set boundaries with other people in general. toga can hold a knife to his neck, spinner can grab him and yell in his face, the doctor can shout over his earpiece, dabi (or anyone, really) can say whatever rude or callous things he wants to him… really the only time i can think of that even comes close was when mr. compress made a joke about working with overhaul and tomura said "hey, not funny."
he seems to kinda just let whatever happen to him. earlier in the series, tomura seemed to rely on kurogiri to notice when he needed space and step in for him rather than ask for it himself. that's a pretty telltale sign of someone who's had their needs and boundaries violated (or even punished) for a long time.
Tomuras over-attachment to afo and his praise/affection
obviously afo groomed tomura whether it involved sexual abuse or not, but it is something that could have easily lended itself to that as well. early in the series, tomura clearly highly valued afos opinion of him, and seemed to strive to please and repay him for his kindness. these are feelings afo incited in him on purpose and did, canonically, take advantage of to turn tomura into a villain and pawn - who's to say he didn't use it for other purposes, too?
it's also the kind of thing survivors tend to latch onto to cope with their abuse. it can be easier to think of the event as being affection, returning a favor, and/or special treatment, than to think of it as abuse. tomura looked up to afo so much that it's possible he could have considered (or been convinced) that it was special that someone as great as afo wanted to do something so intimate with him.
also, if this is really tomura realizing his sensei isn't as special and powerful as he'd been led to believe, then his reaction being to cover up while looking angry might, well… be a reaction to feeling used.
Tumblr media
Tomura & older men
Tumblr media
there's not a lot of people besides afo that tomura seems very quickly, openly… invested in. there are two major ones i can think of, and they are both 1. older men, and 2. mentor figures (even if not to tomura.)
the most obvious of the two is aizawa, who tomura has seemed pretty fond of since his first appearance and, even in the most recent chapters, can't seem to help but think about how cool aizawa is. aizawa isn't a mentor to tomura, obviously, but he is a teacher and tomura knows this. (and seems impressed by the way he tries to protect the students in his care--something afo very specifically does not do for tomura.)
the second, and perhaps less obvious to most, is Stain. i wrote up a whole post trying (trying.) to explain the way tomura seemed interested in him, and you can see a bit more about that and how tomura was hoping he'd be a mentor to him here.
in other words, tomura has shown reoccurring interest in older men, who are mentors, that he does not show for anyone else.
early sexual abuse can influence a person's attractions. survivors tend to be drawn to what is familiar, even if it hurt, and so it's pretty common for them to be attracted to and/or desire a relationship with those who resemble their abuser(s).
and afo is an older man who is a mentor to tomura (and others.)
immaturity (& age regression)
Tumblr media
tomura, in early canon, is often described by characters in-universe as being childish, especially in regards to how he processes his emotions. (i don't really like to conflate these things with "age" or "being childish" - but the way the manga itself presents these qualities is clearly intended to give tomura a immature/childish vibe.)
tomura's emotional processing, simple motivations, fixation with video games, toys littering his room, and need for close caregiving (kurogiri) all give off the impression that he's had trouble developing the way he "”should”" have--kind of like he didn't really move on at all.
this sort of stunted development tends to occur in people with childhood trauma, especially csa survivors. ptsd at its core is the brain getting "stuck" in the moment of trauma, so if the trauma occurred as a child, then one's development is somewhat halted there, especially in areas of emotional processing, because the brain and body have to dedicate so much energy to just trying to cope and survive. it's pretty common for csa survivors to have trouble coping with and controlling their emotions.
relatedly: i have no real way to confirm this right now, but i’ve heard that during the mla arc, while tomura was kind of going in and out of flashbacks, he started switching to using “boku” - a self pronoun for young boys - as opposed to his usual “ore”). ive since had to wonder if this is a reoccurring state for tomura - it might partly explain why he keeps his toys around despite never showing interest in them on-screen, and has such close supervision from kurogiri.
again, age regression can go for any kind of childhood trauma, but seems very common in child sexual abuse survivors in particular.
Lack of hygiene (esp oral)
Tumblr media
look at how tomura's teeth are drawn compared to even another villains. dabis teeth are straight and clean, whereas tomura's have holes and chips, and tend to be drawn uneven with wobbly lines, like they're covered in plaque.
not caring for one's hygiene is common for people with depression too - but failure to care for teeth also frequently crops up in survivors of sexual abuse, due to an aversion to things touching or being inside their mouth, because it can remind them of the abuse.
in a similar vein, tomura's hair looks unwashed and greasy to me, especially when it gets long. it sort of gathers in clumps and appears heavy. survivors may avoid taking showers because they aren't comfortable removing their clothes for long periods of time, or because the abuse occurred in proximity to bathing. (which is a convenient time for parental figures to groom and abuse their children, since it already involves them being naked and the parent touching them closely.)
in general, there just seems to be something off about tomura's relationship with his body. maybe it's the way he barely bats an eye at major injuries, doesn't care for his hygiene, self-injures, and didn't mind undergoing a surgery that altered its shape and function pretty heavily--but i get the impression that tomura sees his body as just a tool more than anything.
which, if someone grew up having their body regarded as nothing but a means of pleasure, kind of makes sense.
his clothing
im not sure if this has the same “connotations” (for lack of a better word) for flat chested people, but tomura always wearing a lowcut shirt that shows off a fair amount of his chest, but covering the rest of himself head to toe--including his face--feels significant to me. as well as the way he covers up even more (his hoodie) when he’s stressed. the hands, too--being covered up seems to be calming for him.
the placement of the hands afo gave him
Tumblr media
you can't tell me little tenko placed these hands where they are by himself. the ones on his chest aren’t even from his family or meant to resemble them - they’re additional hands afo gave him to wear. pretty weird place for “afo”’s hands to go...
I feel like theres a little bit something to tomura frequently having his clothes ripped off during fights
not that it's particularly uncommon for bnha characters to get their clothes a bit shredded during fights, but i can't help but feel like there's something to tomura getting torn down to nothing but his pants twice, with both battles heavily involving tomura's traumas, including the ones related to afo. the vs mla arc with how tomura met afo and how he turned him into what he is today, then the war arc where the methods afo used to control and abuse tomura (the hands) are brought back again--and afo repeatedly takes tomura's bodily autonomy away from him.
AFO's predatory behaviors
tomuras own behavior aside, All For One himself has some behaviors and imagery that gives off very predatory vibes. i’ll start with Ragdoll…
Tumblr media
most people theorize that she was going to be turned into a nomu, but there are two important things here. ragdoll was found 1. alive, and 2. naked. all nomu are made from corpses - if afo had time to take her quirk and undress her, he certainly had time to kill her, especially since three days had passed since she was kidnapped. (and, what benefit would there be to making a nomu out of a quirkless hero?)
her dazed state is also curious - we've never been told taking or giving quirks has a side effect like this, and i would think itd at least wear off after three days…
there's also not actually a lot to suggest she was submerged in one of the tanks (that i know of); in the full body image, she doesn't seem to be soaking wet or anything. there's no water dripping off her. there's just a bit of liquid on her face and neck, which could merely be sweat, or… other fluids.
this next part is more debatable due to it being more dubiously canon (although My Hero: One’s Justice has been known to basically spoil villain related lore before it appears in the manga) - but he has some dialogue that makes him sound... pretty fuckin enthusiastic about sexual violence.
Tumblr media
and time and time again, afo has been... very creepy and obsessive about his brother. who happens to look an awful lot like tomura, and is vaguely connected to nana as a user of OFA, and we know how far afo would go to spite both of them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The "wow this is pretty much confirmed now" page
Tumblr media
i always thought i was just projecting when i read tomura as a csa survivor - until i saw this page, which was so viscerally uncomfortable that it made me nauseous. it definitely made me decide i wasn't just reading into things that weren't there. that's not exactly to say this panel 100% confirmed it (though it certainly did in my mind, personally) -- but the imagery here can't not be deliberate.
tomura is literally shirtless and bent over before afo, and sure, afos not completely standing behind him, but that's partially because his lower half is inside of tomura. and from our previous example of afo taking over tomura's body…
Tumblr media
i wish i could find the translation i first saw - this is the viz translation, which is notoriously horrible - but the one i read felt much more along the lines of "i saved you, so i get to do what i want with your body."
that is a line of logic that could have EASILY applied to their earlier relationship. the way afo saved tenko was very much on the forefront of tomura's mind early in the series, possibly either an idea he clung onto to justify the abuse he experienced from afo, or something afo personally reminded him of frequently.
Tumblr media
also… part of afos body is definitely wrapped around tomura's upper thigh, and in certain panels seems to be emanating from between his legs.
speaking of, tomura's stance is also notable to me. compared to the panel where tomura first realized afo was taking control of him, where his knees are pretty straight on or outwards in a powerful balanced brace, in these panels his knees seem to be bending in towards his body, like he wants to squeeze his legs shut. huh.
Tumblr media
i touched on this before, but it's interesting to me that what finally let afo fully take control of tomura's body, was having a hand (one afo very specifically used to control and abuse tomura into doing what he wanted) placed upon his body without permission.
so, all in all, afo is "inside" tomura's body, using it for his own means, against tomura's wishes.
what else does that sound like? no wonder deku feels like tomura needs help, despite everything...
again, this isn't to say that csa is definitely the cause of these things, just that tomura does have an abundance of behaviors and imagery that could easily be read that way.

The Limits of a Hero
Hello hello, I’m here to bring you something rather special. A quick fun fact: When I started writing years ago, Link was actually the first character I ever wrote for, so this piece is sort of going back to my roots as a writer. That, and I’ve been in a HUGE Twilight Princess mood lately, (I recently bought a few volumes of the manga and I am very much enjoying it) so I thought I’d write this quick thing for my favorite incarnation of Link. I hope those of you who also like him will enjoy this.
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Link x Reader
Summary: During a seemingly ordinary night out in the woods you decide to give the hero a much needed chance to rest.
Notes: Fluff, some light angst
Tumblr media
The tree trunk felt rough against your back, but it provided a much-needed opportunity to finally rest and recollect your energy after yet another day of fighting against the twilight and its corrupt ruler. Yet you found a strange calm when surrounded by the night, the warm flames of the campfire swaying in the cool wind.
The wood crackled, the breeze howled and your eyelids grew heavy. You wouldn’t close them, however. Not yet. Instead, you kept your (E/C) eyes on the glowing fire, occasionally throwing in a stick or two to make sure your source of heat wouldn’t disappear.
Your thoughts wandered, as they often did ever since you were thrown into this dangerous adventure. How did everything change so fast? You could still hear the water trickling down the waterwheel in Ordon as if it was yesterday. Everything had gone wrong so fast, and now you were trying to save the entire kingdom from something you didn’t fully understand.
You knew it was the same for Link. But unlike you, he was much better at suppressing his confusion and doubts. You had noticed a change in him, no doubt caused by the sudden responsibility laid upon his broad shoulders. In addition to the more obvious changes in his attire, his cerulean eyes lost some of their glow, he somehow grew even more silent and he didn’t smile as often. All because he felt that his role as the hero chosen by the Gods demanded it.
It must have been tiring, you thought, yet he pressed on, never once letting even a single mention of how much it all weighed down on him slip from his lips. But you could see it. Whether it was in the way his shoulders fell with a sigh whenever he finished slaughtering a group of Bokoblins or how he yawned and stretched his arms almost every time he hopped off Epona. His body was fatigued, but his eyes held nothing but determination.
The rustling of leaves that came from behind snapped you back to reality, and your eyes fell on the bush where the grey animal soon emerged from, carrying something in his mouth the edges of which and a part of his lower body was seemingly damp. You watched as he walked with heavy steps towards the fire before dropping the thing you recognized to be a Hyrule Bass on the ground.
The fish flopped on the dirt and you found yourself raising a confused eyebrow at him, before locating his fishing rod not too far away from the fire, indicating that he had forgotten to take it with him. You looked at the fish again.
“Are we this desperate?” You managed to ask him as his beastly form quickly reverted to his original form you were familiar with. He sat on the ground and gave you a slight nod.
“We’re running low on food,” he said, taking a sip from his bottle of water. Most of his equipment was laying on the ground, though he was still fully clad in his green tunic, chainmail and all.
You noticed him taking out a small knife, no doubt intending to use it to prepare the freshly caught fish. He would not dare use his sacred sword for such a task. The bass was fairly big, enough for both of you, you surmised.
“I can take care of it,” you offered, noticing the tired look in his eyes as they turned to you. He shook his head lightly.
“It’s fine, (Name),” he assured and began cutting into the flesh, but you persisted.
“You haven’t slept properly in days.” It had been an exhausting few days, filled to the brim with battles against Shadow Beasts and other enemies. It took its toll on both of you yet he showed no outward signs of fatigue. Not that it was necessary, for right now, anyone could see the dark circles and bags under his otherwise gorgeous eyes.
He glanced at you, clearly pondering over your words while continuing to cut the fish. You were right, as you often were. He was exhausted, but the selflessness in him didn’t want you to lose any of the sleep you needed.
“Someone has to keep watch,” he began, but you quickly shut him down.
“Which I can do.”
You scooted over to him, noticing him making the final cuts to the scaly flesh of the fish. Placing a hand on top of his, you kept your eyes on him, trying to convince him.
“You need to rest, Link. Please.”
Upon hearing your voice that left your lips as a quiet plea he finally gave in, letting out a sigh that carried all his exhaustion into the air and letting go of the knife. He finally turned to you, his drained eyes glowing in silent relief.
“Will you be alright? You know you can wake me up any time if-”
“I’ll be fine. The only thing you need to worry about is getting some sleep.”
Your hand reached up to slowly remove his cap, exposing his dirty blond hair that bathed in the glowing embers of the campfire. You offered him a smile equally warm as the flames which he thankfully returned.
Planting the tiniest kiss on his cheek, you retreated from him, once again leaning against a lone tree. With your hand you lightly patted your lap, wanting the hero in front of you to have the best possible chance at getting a good night’s rest.
He laid his weary head on your lap and almost immediately, he let out a long yawn that indicated just how much he needed this, despite his stubborn protests. Your fingers found their way into his hair, running through his locks in a soothing manner.
Silence fell around you, though it was a refreshing change from the usual noises of battle and struggles. You stared at the fire once again, its welcoming warmth enveloping both of you.
“You’ve changed,” you admitted, thinking back to the simpler times, during which Link would have been more than compliant to sleep when he needed it. He let out a soft sigh, his eyes glued to the starlit sky above.
“I guess I have,” he agreed. You wondered if he meant it to the same degree as you did. Even now, you noticed the solemn expression on his face you had never seen back home.
Home. You thought about it a lot. Maybe a little too much at times. Ordon meant a lot to you, even more to Link you assumed. Perhaps that’s why he had gotten so stoic and serious. He was merely trying to protect what he held dear.
It was admirable, he was, by all accounts, a hero. Courageous, selfless, strong, yet still a mere Hylian. A capable Hylian indeed, but still a Hylian. A Hylian who the entire kingdom needed to save them. Everyone expected so much of him, it seemed as if he himself forgot his limits.
“You’re not all-powerful, Link.”
Your eyes fell on him, and his own looked up at you. Someone needed to be his voice of reason, and you were more than willing to take that role if it meant ensuring his safety when he sometimes couldn’t.
“Maybe I should be.”
Your eyebrows frowned at that. You knew he felt a certain sense of guilt about what happened to the children of the village. They were safe now, but there was a stinging sensation of shame embedded in him that made him feel responsible for all of it.
“Don’t say that. You did all you could. Pushing yourself to the point where you can’t stay up anymore won’t solve anything.”
He knew you were right. You almost always were. Link had always secretly wondered if it was a blessing that it was you who had accidentally stumbled across the same wall of Twilight that had transformed him into a beast. In all honesty, he was thankful.
“I’m just... Worried about you,” you confessed, feeling a small sense of dread in the core of your being. Just thinking about what could happen to him if he didn’t take care of himself made your stomach churn.
A troubled look fell on his face, as if he was feeling guilty about making your eyes fill with concern. You inhaled deeply and pressed your lips on his forehead, not wanting your own uneasiness make him anxious.
“Rest now. I’ll keep watch.”
With a small nod, he allowed his heavy eyelids to close and it didn’t take long for him to fall asleep, soft snores escaping his mouth that was partially agape.
For the first time in days, he looked truly peaceful. His body relaxed, rid of any signs of stress or tension, the only movement being that of his chest, moving up and down due to his steady breathing. With a smile you continued running your digits through his hair, hoping to comfort him even in his dreams you could only hope were as tranquil as your current surroundings.
“Goodnight, Link.”

so I get why Bump was the first episode of Cells at Work S2, and it's very cute and a good series opener, but it does bug me a little that it removes the context of what's going on with U-1146 at the beginning of the episode
because in the manga, that story comes directly after the lactic acid bacteria/return of Cancer Cell arc. Which is why the germ in the beginning is going on about how cute it is and surely no immune cell could bring themselves to kill it. And 4989 specifically says that he's worried about how 1146 is doing after the whole cancer incident.
So this is right after 1146 has been trapped, helpless to stop his friends from being attacked and nearly having to watch the world end, and learned that the cell responsible for that near-apocalypse apparently considers him a friend after he showed one moment of compassion. And leading up to that he had Killer T accuse him of going soft again for hanging out with non-immune cells, and NK sternly reminding him that he should kill without hesitation no matter who the enemy is.
Which is exactly what he's doing when Bump starts, and why he's throwing himself into his work so hard. Who's kind-hearted? Who's gentle? He's a natural-born killing machine! He's cutting off all worldly desires, eliminating all weaknesses...
...in other words, he's doing exactly what Backward Cap is doing. And so when he tells her that she's not a burden, and she has her own strengths, and leads her back out to join her friends, it's not only her that he's talking to, and it's not only Red Blood Cell who she reminds him of.

Vaati as a D&D Character, Part 6: Vaati
Inspired by a question I saw on @hauntinghyrule ‘s blog. My character analysis and thoughts on what character class the boys would be if they were D&D characters, and why. Also! @atinybitweird has been drawing the boys D&D designs, and she’s doing really great! I’ll link to her posts on the individual analysis as well as reblog them here so look out for those : D
Green / Red / Blue / Vio / Shadow / FS Zelda
As a preface, there won’t be any doubles on classes except in the case of dual-classing, and in those cases the first class I talk about my justifications for will be the primary class (i.e. the class they would have chosen at level one). My choices will be based on the character theming and personalities, even though at a base level it would be easy to say “they’re all paladins, duh” because of the implied “holy knight chosen by the gods to eradicate evil” concept.  HA I TRICKED YOU We’re talking about Vaati now. I’m gonna blow your mind. Here’s a revolutionary concept I bet nobody’s thought of before (I’m being sarcastic do NOT message me): Vaati’s not a sorcerer, he’s a wizard. Or rather he was a wizard before he abandoned his studies to cheat his way to becoming a powerful Sorcerer. But Athena, he’s the Sorcerer of Winds, not the Wizard of Winds? Why is he a wizard then? BECAUSE CHILDHOOD THAT’S WHY. Vaati’s origin story is that he was the apprentice of a renowned and legendary Minish sage, Ezlo. Wizards are the only magic users who become magic users through study- both personal study and through apprenticeships and formal schooling. Until Vaati used Ezlo’s Wishing Cap to turn himself into a Sorcerer (thereby dual-classing from an intelligence based spellcaster to a charisma based spellcaster), he was probably learning to harness the arcane arts through good old fashioned book learning (and of course, Ezlo’s tutelage). He may have even chosen an Arcane Tradition to study under Ezlo before realizing that the Wishing Cap was a quicker shortcut to the power and change that he wanted to enact. You only need 2 levels in Wizard to choose an Arcane Tradition, and at that point the only abilities Vaati really has is some low-level Wizard spellcasting, Arcane Recovery, and the 2nd level Arcane Tradition ability which is pretty fitting and just shows how lazy Vaati ended up being.  Every Arcane Tradition has a little section telling you what the school of magic is about, and the one that made me think “oh yeah, that’s what Vaati would be into” was the School of Transmutation description. It reads thus:
“You are a student of spells that modify energy and matter. To you, the world is not a fixed thing, but eminently mutable, and you delight in being an agent  of change. You wield the raw stuff of creation and learn to alter both physical forms and mental qualities. Your magic gives you the tools to become a smith on reality’s forge.
Some transmuters are tinkerers and pranksters, turning people into toads and transforming copper into silver for fun and occasional profit. Others pursue their magical studies with deadly seriousness, seeking the power of the gods to make and destroy worlds.” - Player’s Handbook, Page 119
You’ll notice I bolded some stuff in those paragraphs- that’s because they can directly relate to events in Vaati’s timeline as a character. He has five forms which, as far as I know, makes him the villain with the most forms out of all the Zelda villains. His most plot relevant moments involve him transmuting someone into a different form including himself, the Gleerok in the Cave of Flames, the Great Mayfly Fairy (in the manga), Ezlo, and Princess Zelda. His element is Wind, which is most commonly associated with change, adaptation and flexibility, and Transmutation is about mastering magic that does these exact things. Vaati’s ultimate goal was to become a “perfect” version of himself by finding the Light Force and using it to turn himself into a god, which worked for the entire Vaati Reborn battle. If he had just applied himself to his studies under Ezlo, he wouldn’t have needed to cheat and use the Wishing Cap to make himself a powerful sorcerer. Just for fun, lets talk about what he would have gained by only being a wizard. First, he would have access to certain spells that he could cast without using spell slots, including Polymorph. School of Transmutation lets him create a Transmuter’s Stone, which he can use to grant himself darkvision, increase his speed, grant himself proficiency in Constitution saving throws, or resistance to acid, cold, fire, lightning or thunder damage. This Transmuter’s Stone could later be used to emit a burst of power that would allow him to transform objects no bigger than a 5 ft cube into other objects of similar sizes, masses and value, as well as remove all curses, diseases and poisons from an afflicted person while healing them to their maximum HP; he would be able to cast Raise the Dead without using a spell slot and even if he didn’t have it written in his spell book, and even use it to reverse the effects of aging on a person to a minimum of 13 years. He could have had a fucking Philosopher’s Stone but he CHEATED!!! Wizards by far have the most diverse amount of spells that they can learn, and by only taking 2 levels in wizard he locks himself into only having access to level 1 wizard spells and cantrips.  By taking Sorcerer, he still gets access to 9th level sorcerer spells, but the amount of 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th level sorcerer spells is half the amount of wizard spells of those same levels. His spells have a wider range of versatility with the Metamagic options supplied by the Sorcerer class, and although he wouldn’t get the cool perks of Transmutation Wizard, Storm Sorcery is nothing to joke about. This is where the Sorcerer of the Winds part comes in- Vaati altered reality using the Wishing Cap and imbued himself with the power of elemental air. He finally gets to use those sweet sweet Evocation, Conjuration and Necromancy spells that I theorize Ezlo wouldn’t have let him dabble into much because the Minish are a peaceful race- why would their sages need to know Meteor Swarm (Evocation) or Flaming Sphere (Conjuration) or Soul Cage (Necromancy)? And Storm Sorcery perks are pretty awesome. Vaati learns to speak, read and write the language of elementals, and whenever he casts a spell of 1st level or higher he can fly up to 10 feet without provoking opportunity attacks. He gains resistance to lightning and thunder damage, and when casting spells of 1st level or higher that deal lightning or thunder damage he can cause anyone within 10 feet of him to take lightning/thunder damage equal to half his sorcerer level automatically. Eventually, when he’s hit with melee attacks he can deal lightning damage to the attacker equal to his sorcerer level and push them away with a burst of wind, up to 20 feet. And his two levels in wizard mean that he still gets the highest Storm Sorcery ability at 18th level: immunity to lightning and thunder damage, and a magical flying speed of 60 feet. Vaati’s transformation really just gives him all of his wishes on a platter, no pun intended- the freedom to fly and power to wield the elements and change himself on the fly- and his high Intelligence stat means he knows how to use those abilities to gain the advantage, making him a formidable opponent and party member. In conclusion, Vaati is a level 2 Transmutation Wizard, who dual-classed to Storm Sorcery Sorcerer through the power of a wish.

The highs and lows|| Daddy x reader
I shouldn't even publish this because it's so bad, but I wanted to show Daddy some love because all anyone cares about is Carol. Again I'm sorry for putting this trash online, I'll do better! [* I had to repost because I left out a bit of it as I was converting it from wattpad]
Epilogue
You saw the way Daddy looked at your new friend, Daya. Giving her special treatment n shit. You remembered when that was you. You used to be a cookie too. A few months back, that was you. You were Daddy's favorite girl, you were special, and you were the one she loved.
Now all of this is not to say that you hated Daya because she replaced you. It wasn't her fault she was so sexy with all those curves and that pretty face. In fact, if you weren't so into Daddy, you'd be all over her. You weren't upset with Daddy either. Daddy is a lion. She see's something she wants and pounces. You were just devastated because obviously you weren't enough.
You knew things were going south between the two of you when you found her slipping Oxy into Daya's shampoo cap. That's almost the same move she used on you. Soon, she would barely touch you, she started treating you just like annalisa and her other girls.
Surprisingly, you found it easy to be around Daya though. She taught you how to draw manga eyes and she was chill. You two talked about your pasts and she mentioned that she had a daughter by a CO from camp. She trusted you and you trusted her.
. . .
With Daddy, you kept your cool and didn't bitch and moan about your loss of attention or how she fucked up with the rats and CO Hellman backing out of business with D Block so the girls went through withdrawal. You were supportive throughout the heartbreak. You watch silently as 2 C block girls jump Daya for the oxy she traded. It hurt to just watch your friend get her ass whooped for fucking pills, but you wouldn't be no help to her after if you got jumped too. So you waited behind a corner till they left then rushed in.
"Fuck, Daya, you okay mama? Shit" you ask her, picking her up.
She groans trying to stand up, "Yeah I'm cool, I'm f- OUCH!" She yelps
"Shit, shit! Here let's go to Daddy, tell her what those cunt block bitches did!" You usher her away to the cell to find Daddy pacing nervously. Even anxious as hell she was fine as fuck. She immediately spots Daya limping as you let go of her.
"What the fuck happened to you guys?! You got the stuff??" Of course, her priorities are fucked
"Nothing happened to me, but they got Daya." I answer the first question.
Gasping for air, Daya adds, "They jumped me. Cunt block bitches."
Daddy faces me "Y/N, Why didn't you help her?"
"I weigh 105 pounds, what the fuck am I gonna do to some fat ass C Blocks?"
Back to Daya "Wheres the oxy, did you get it??" Daddy presses. She needs those pills, Barb is going through withdrawal.
"They took it!" Oh shit.
Daddy immediately spins on her feet, knocking over a cup. "Fuucck!"
You just stand aside watching, knowing that she's in deep shit with Barb now.
"What are you more concerned about? Me or the oxy?" Daya questions her, suprised. After all she is Daddy's special girl.
Daddy removes her hands from her neck, realizing how inconsiderate she sounds.
"Hey. Every one of those bitches gonna get her face carved out," Daddy tells her, face molding into one of concern and support "for touching you."
Wow, you remember when you were that important. It hurt to see how quickly you became just another girl to Daddy, no matter how many times she told you otherwise. Everyone knows there can't be two of Daddy's favorite girl.
You didn't realize, but your eyes are glistening with tears as you continue to watch them, not hearing anything up until Daddy says to daya "That's right. That's a good girl."
You couldn't take it anymore.
Daya looks up and asks you "what's wrong, Y/N?" You shake your head and wipe the tear away. She doesn't know. But you know, Daddy knows. You turn and run before they say anything else. You turn and head to the laundry room and bump into someone. Fucking Badison.
"Aww princess, what's the matter? Your Daddy dont love you no more?" The blonde teases.
"Fuck off, Fatison." You counter. You've done it, you've pissed off the top dog of C block, and no ones gonna save you.
"What did you call me, bitch? You don't wanna mess with me, especially when theres no one here to protect you." Badison threatens, spitting in your face. "Y'know, I heard about you. Sucking off Hellman for drugs, you're nothing but a dirty worthless slut. Girls, get in here, let's show D block who they're fucking with."
On cue, Teng and Akers come through the door, pulling shanks from their socks and waistbands. You realize that your fucked and you can't fight them all at the same time.
. . .
After you're all sliced up, you strain to pick yourself up. "Hnnnnggg, awe shit, fuck!" You whimper trying to walk back to your cell when Annalisa sees you and rushes toward you to help.
"What the fuck Y/N?!" She lifts up your shirt and finds about 30 cut wounds, and sees the shank in your hand. "Who the fuck cuts themselves like that? Just because Daddy replaced you doesn't mean you get all depressed!" You couldn't believe it! She thinks you did this to yourself?
"Wake the fuck up Annalisa!!! This was Badison and her dumbass flunkies! They even stomped my goddamn ankle!" You spit out though gritted teeth. Although it's excruciatingly painful for you to walk, you push her away and limp down the hall and back to your cell, surprisingly unnoticed. You wash your cuts and lay down, eventually drifting off to sleep.
. . .
A week goes by of you laying in bed, skipping work, and yet no one seems to notice. The cuts were healing nicely thanks to the antibiotic ointment in commisary, and your ankle is getting better. You've been listening to Flava To The Max on your radio to keep yourself entertained, otherwise you were crying your eyes out.
The kickball tournament is today and you're planning on hanging around outside of your cell for once since Daddy and Daya would be on the field. Avoiding them has been easier than you thought. But being alone all day with your thoughts was not good for you. All you can think of now is how sad your life is and how you must've fucked up for Daddy to not want you.
Daya approaches your door and wraps her knuckles on the door frame. "Hey, Y/N, we haven't seen you in a while. Daddy thinks you're avoiding her, what's up?"
"Oh, I just hurt my ankle so I've been resting."
"Well here's something for the pain then. And you should tell Daddy, she swears you're avoiding her." Daya tosses you a packet of heroin. That's what's been keeping them busy.
You look Daya in her eyes, "maybe I am avoiding her, but she ain't worried enough to come see me" you told her truthfully
"Yeah, I guess you right, but you can't hide forever. Were going to play kickball, see you after?" She asks
"Yeah, see you." You answer back.
You look at the heroin in your hand. You've only ever done weed and oxy, this is new territory for you. You were scared you'd become addicted. "Ahh fuck it, nothing can be as bad as how I'm feeling now." You pour a little onto the desk and sniff it up. Within a few seconds you shoot up energetically. "WOO GOOD STUFF!" You love the rush and soon, you dump the whole thing and sniff that up too. After a few minutes of hopping around, the energy starts to wear off and you suddenly feel very drowsy. All the memories of you and Daddy being together flood your mind at once. Tears spill down your cheeks as you find it hard to keep yourself awake, closing your eyes feels so good. You know that you're slipping out of consciousness or possibly dying, but maybe that's not such a bad thing. 'No ones gonna care, no one loves you' , you think. Your legs start to give way and before you know it, you're on the ground, winding if Daddy or anyone would care if you just died, and that's when your eyes finally shut.
. . .
Not long after, the kickball game ends and everyone is feeling United. Daya jogs to catch up to Daddy, remembering what you said.
"Yo, I saw Y/N before we came out here. She fucked up her ankle, that's why she been missing. It looked like it hurt bad, so I gave her some H for the pain." Daya tells her.
"Aand? Did you ask her the other thing??" Daddy asks
Daya looks at Daddy with concern in her eyes as they walk into D block, Annalisa listening behind them. "Yeah, she is avoiding you. I ain't ask her why but I told her you were worried and she said you weren't worried enough to go see her."
Daddy's eyes get big as golf balls and she goes "SHIT! Somethings up, I know it! She never gets like this."
That's when Annalisa cuts in, "she was like, cutting herself last week then she flipped the fuck out when I confronted her. She tried to blame Badison, but those Cunt Block bitches know better than to try anything"
That's when Daddy goes WILD. She shoves Annalisa, screaming in her face. "ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?? WHY THE FUCK DIDN'T YOU TELL ME??!! ARE YOU BATSHIT?? WHAT THE HELL, I GOTTA GO FIND HER!!" and with that, she and Daya run to your cell.
"Y/N we need to tal- FUCKING FUCK!! SHIT!!" There you are, passed out on the floor, empty heroin bag in hand. Daddy and Daya kneel beside you, trying to shake you awake "fuck, this is all my fault!" Daddy cries.
Daya places her hand on Daddy's back, trying to comfort her. "No it's not. You didn't know."
"It is my fault! I left her for you and I've been treating her like shit!! I should've checked on her!! She's not waking up!!" She continues to cry
Daya's in utter shock. The only thing she can think to do is check your pulse. Thank god you still have one. "Hey, hey. She's still alive, calm down. Let's get her to medical." Shes trying to remain as calm as possible, but her best friend is unconscious.
.  .  .
You groan as your head pounds, waking you up. All at once it comes back to you, you passed out on heroin. Just then, the doctor notices you.
"Ah, you're awake! Your body was in shock from excessive drug intake, but you are good to go now if you feel okay." He explains. You nod, and he starts removing your IV and the monitors. As you walk back out to your block you see Daya and Daddy, who look like they've been crying, at your favorite table. You walk up and tap Daddy on her shoulder. She looks up in surprise, but gets a smile on her face when she sees you.
"Babygirl, you're okay!!!" Daya looks up too, smiling. Daddy jumps up and squeezes you tight. It feels right being in her arms again. You squeeze back as much as you can. "Baby I'm so sorry I treated you bad. I care about you so much, and I'm glad you're okay! I dont ever want to lose you, I fucking love you!" She cries into your shoulder. Daya gets up and wraps her arms around you both. " I'm sorry too, mama. I didn't know you and Daddy were a thing, and I'm sorry for being a bad bestfriend!" You cry too, but its tears of happiness. It feels good knowing you have two amazing people in your life. "I love you guys so much!" You stay like that for a while, then you all sit, and Daya says, "Y/N I care about Daddy a lot and I know you do too, which is why I would never wanna take her away from you. So I was thinking... maybe we can share." You look at her then at Daddy, asking for approval. "Fine by me, babe. 2 is better than one." You grin widely, overcome with joy and love. You got your Daddy back. And now you have Daya too.
"Alright so now that that's taken care of, let's go stomp on badisons fucking neck. No one fucks with Daddy's girls."

No Comicstorian, Marvel DOESN’T need a reboot Part 2: Miles Morales isn’t the whole Marvel Universe
I continue to debunk the BS of this video about Spider-Man/Marvel needing a reboot as proven by Spidey PS4.
youtube
This time out we handle the bulk of his points and learn that really this is all about how he feels about Miles Morales.
What is Comicstorian’s next point.
“In Marvel’s rolling timeline they move the events of the pas forward in time and update stuff to it like how Flash Thompson was a bully like in the 1960s stories but it was now because of his Dad”
That isn’t an update and that has nothing to do with a rolling timeline. That’s a flashback, a character reveal, a retcon, character development, whatever you want to call it.
Claiming this is an example of how Marvel’s ‘timeline’ works is like saying that about Harry Osborn being revealed as having Daddy issues like the year after he was introduced.
“Flash’s Daddy issues got turned into him becoming Agent Venom”
No, Flash becoming Agent Venom was due to his history as a solider and his adoration of Spider-Man. his Daddy issues played into it kinda sorta yeah but that’s not an issue related to a rolling timeline, that’s just making use of a character’s established history.
“Adding stuff into the Marvel timeline without removing stuff or rebooting makes it more convoluted because now everything happened even though it doesn’t make sense in the modern day’
That isn’t how Marvel’s timeline works.
Marvel’s timeline works off the premise everything happened and you just ignore anachronisms and/or generalize them.
Flash Thompson being drafted into Vietnam where he met Vietnamese woman Sha Shan became Flash Thompson went into the military during college and over seas met Sha Shan.
We don’t confirm he went to Vietnam but we do not contradict it either.
And this has worked for *checks watch* over 55 years. Comiscstorian claims that it’s confusing and convoluted to have such a big history but...clearly it isn’t because they still make money and make a lot more money  than DC does with it’s frequent reboots.*
Meanwhile DC has removed stuff in their history and replaced it with other stuff or rebooted it wholesale and whatever to modernize things and wound up with an even more convoluted fucked up mess than Marvel ever had because there are literally 9 different versions of Superman.
And even specific versions of him ran into the exact same ‘problem’ Marvel had because the superman of 2002 who’d been around since 1986 would’ve still had anachronisms in his history from those 1980s stories.
“DC have never done a true reboot outside of the Nu52”
Yes they have. You can debate the meaning of ‘true reboot’ to an extent but if you are going to codify the Nu52 as an example of one then 1985’s Crisis on Infinite Earths would DEFINITELY be a true reboot.
“Batman has never truly been rebooted”
This is not true at all.
Whilst it is accurate to say of all DC characters and franchises, Batman has changed the least from reboot to reboot, to say he’s not changed at all is ignorant.
When originally conceived Bruce Wayne had no Butler or father figure. Alfred was introduced as a gag character who got in his way but morphed into a loyal butler.
Then when Batman was rebooted in the 1980s Alfred and his history drastically altered. Now Bruce had a perennial father figure in Alfred who’d been there his whole life and helped him on his quest to becoming Batman from the outset.
Whether Batman carried fire arms or not in his early career is also something that has altered from version to version.
The circumstances under which he met Jason Todd have changed.
How and when he revealed his identity to Catwoman has changed.
Selinia’s entire backstory has been all over the place.
Two-Face’s origin and Batman’s role within it has changed.
The role of Jim Gordon and Batman’s relationship to him has radically changed, as he was originally not a father figure to the Dark Knight.
There is so much more but I’ll stop here. Batman’s history is not AS fraught with contradictions as Superman’s or Wonder Woman’s but those major alterations still exist.
“With rebooted characters (like in DC’s case) in terms of needing to understand what is currently happening in modern comics, like the Flash you only need to go back to 2011”
Marvel still outsells DC most of the time in spite of their long continuity.
Marvel for the longest time wrote their comics with the belief that every comic is someone’s first and should be accessible, meaning you never needed to go back at all if you didn’t want to, any issue was a jumping on point.
I am a personal testament to this. My first Spider-Man comic was part 4 of a 4 part story wrapping up 28 months worth of incredibly convoluted plot lines. But because it was a good story in that issue and written accessibly I still loved it and became hooked.
This mentality also gives no shits towards story integrity.
If eventually any story is just going to be rebooted why bother emotionally investing at all?
Why does any story matter if they can all just be changed or thrown out the window whenever for the sake of a new version.
“Marvel tried to fix their continuity problem in 2000 when they did the Ultimate universe which allowed for fresh takes on the characters and a chance to remove the problematic elements and make them work better in this current timeline.”
Yeah and then that universe lasted just 15 years and then died on it’s ass after hobbling along since 2008, with Ultimate Spider-Man itself becoming creatively impoverished before Miles Morales showed up.
Also ‘removing the problematic elements’? You mean like Venom and Carnage having personalities? Because...having personalities was an idea that was dated in the 2000s?
“The Ultimate universe needed to be shut down because things had gotten too convoluted like the main universe”
If the Ult Universe was too convoluted to be allowed to continue why was the even more convoluted 616 universe continued and in fact selling more than it?
It’s almost like the Ultimate Universe fell into decline not because of too much convoluted history but because the stories sucked shit and no one gave a damn because they weren’t the original characters anyway.
“In modern continuity Steve Rogers is back to normal but he’s still HYDRA Steve Rogers, still Old man Rogers, still  so convoluted”
 That isn’t convoluted.
That’s just a lot of stuff happening. It’d be convoluted if he was all those things at the same time, but in reality he was just one thing after the other.
And whilst that does kinda suck because a lot of those things were trash, the idea of events occurring like that isn’t being convoluted. It’s just storytelling.
All those things occurred within the last 10 years of Captain America meaning that had Cap been rebooted 10 years ago by Comicstorian’s logic he’d need a reboot by now.
By his logic the Flash should be rebooted again soon because too much shit has happened.
I’d love for this guy to like check out long running manga like One Piece or Sailor Moon which has even wackier stuff in even shorter spaces of time and all within the same continuity.
 “It’s all just a mess!!!!!!”
Translation: Comicstorian, the guy who you would think would know and appreciate comic book history and is able to roll with it, is pissed off that things are too hard to follow.
Like Jesus fucking Christ this loser is a weaksauce fan. MOST comic book fans know and can roll with the weird histories, even learning to love them.
This guy’s name is literally riding against his fucking attitudes.
“Spider-Man history is convoluted because he was married but then he sold it to the devil so now he isn’t”
This is the most damning example of Comicstorian knowing jack shit.
Because of all things in Marvel One More Day is the closest thing to a continuity reboot akin to DC’s.
He is literally pointing at a continuity reboot and saying it makes things a confusing effed up mess and then tries to use that to justify us...doing more of the same???????????????????
“its so convoluted because he keeps going back to collage”
You mean like....real life people do?
“Spider-Man history is so convoluted because there is a whole series of venom lethal protector”
Okay so first of all Lethal protector was a mini-series not a whole series.
Second of all that is VENOM HISTORY not SPIDER-MAN history.
What? EVERY SPIN OFF counts towards making a character more convoluted?
“Miles morales in the 616 universe only works if you don’t question his origin”
I mean that is true but whilst not strictly speaking a reboot Miles’ migration from one universe to the next is storywise more similar to the types of convoluted messes that occur when continuity reboots happen.
Case in point Power Girl being taken from Earth 2 and incorporated into the newly rebooted post-crisis DC universe or the deal with all the Milestone comics characters.
Miles however is UNIQUE in these problems among Marvel characters whereas it’s more similar to the deal with DC characters.
And Comicstorian is so blind he can’t even see that.
*Comicstorian explains Miles is already a part of PS4 Spider-Man’s universe thus avoiding the problems of him being convoluted and by extention proving Marvel needs to reboot stuff*
Basically this whole mess of a video exists off the back of how this one video game fixed the story problems of this one character in the Marvel universe who’s situation is actually unique among Marvel characters and more comparable to DC ones.
THAT is why Comicstorian thinks ALL OF MARVEL should be rebooted.
“we need a linear timeline for these sueprheroes now!”
Most of the marvel heroes alreadyhave a linear timeline and always did in the pre-internet age when marvel fans just picked up the latest issue and winged it.
“I have a nephew and it’s so hard to just give him a comic book”
Then maybe Comicstorian’s nephew just won’t find comic books to his taste because that’s literally how every comic book fan got indoctrinated.
Just fucking give him ASM vol 5 #1 by Spencer and if the story is good enough for him he’s in. It’s incredibly accessible for the most part.
“It’s so hard explaining Miles morales to my nephew”
Yeah because Miles is UNIQUE in having that convoluted a backstory.
“Marvel history is too convoluted for younger audience members”
Again I jumped onboard literally at the end of the most convulted Spider-Man era of all time, I dealt with divergences from the cartoon Spider-Man I knew, I purchased info books detailing his long crazy history.
 I was fine.
In fact those info books are still sold on the mass market so they clearly have an audience for that convoluted history.
“We don’t want kids to be intimidated by the confusing history like we adults are”
Kids don’t view that stuff the way adults to, they’re more accepting of shit and roll with it.
“It’s a lot to try and get into Spider-Man”
If only there were jumping on points peppered throughout Spider-Man’s history which are ways for you to get invested without going through everything before hand?
“The PS4 game is the best version of Spider-Man ever!”
Better in some respects not as great in others.
“It’s the best version because it’s one straight path”
Pretty sure it’s more to do with the characetrization and stuff.

Super Giles:Chapter 10-The Last Corner
Chapter One
Chapter Two
Chapter Three
Chapter Four
Chapter Five
Chapter Six
Chapter Seven
Chapter Eight
Chapter Nine
We start this final chapter off with some sound effects...French sound effects and some of those are arguably more easy to turn “English” than others so I dared not try due to lack of experience on the...Weirder...ones.It’s not like all of it is “Honhonhon” and manga tends to be the same way these days by keeping in the kanji effects and placing either the Japanese or English equivalent to the noise in plain text(All depends on the publisher’s/translator’s choice.
Walter Oliviers,Michel Smets,and/or whoever can be credited to writing this story,I hope you are happy with what you managed to accomplish.Whether you’re still alive or between then and now you died and one of my mother’s interpretations of the afterlife is selected spirits re-manifest at certain times if their actions are brought up...I hope the other ghosts aren’t laughing at you for being remembered this way.You arguably had a group of people forced to read this story for some school systems. It might just be due to how I had to pick up a French copy or my own weirdness of opinion but this kind of came off a little too philosophical at points than something your typical fourth grader’s brain is going to comprehend. Then again,if publishing it this way was the only way to share your vision it’s understandable since at least by how my school experience was those in the age chunks between twelve and eighteen would probably chalk this all up to “Drugs, lol”.
If there’s anything to truly take from all this it’s that pretty much anything has the chance to be written if you strike the right time/people.With this now out of the way I suppose I still need to return to that story from the early 1900s about the messenger boy who gains the ability to bounce like a rubber ball from his fairy godfather as he hunts down the boogeyman.
Tumblr media
Ehh...While I mean a lot of that this whole story is pretty much how Krusty reacted to Worker and Parasite.
“Vroom-Vroom,” roared the bulldozer.
“Crips-Cnars-Schrip,”cried the crane.
“Schrans-Schrans,”the excavator gobbled.
“Ssssch-Ssssch,”hissed the grinder.
The machines were impatiently waiting for near each other in line, throbbing, thundering, rumbling, and grumbling.A worker raised a small green flag.Suddenly he lowered his hand. This was the sign they could begin. The machines rushed in a cloud of dust. The trees and bushes flew in the air,as well as gravel and earth.
“I’ll show them how a lamppost dies,”the lamppost said solemnly. He straightened up like a candle, held out his lamp high, turned on the light, and shed as much light as possible on the arriving troop.
Giles looked admiringly at his friend.
“Why am I not that brave?”he thought,”I am terribly afraid.”He was shaking like a pipe, and as pale a dead man but smelled like a broken down motorist's gas can.
The devourers were still approaching.Fifty more meters.Forty.Thirty.
A jeep came honking its horn and stopped right in front of the machines. It was the fat sergeant with the crimson face.Huffing,he got out of his jeep.On his arm hung a brand new uniform.
“What is happening here?”he gasped. The workers jumped from their machines and surrounded him.
“I am here on a special mission for General Vanderspleen,”said the sergeant with an air of importance.” I must deliver a new uniform to the Interior Gasoline Supply Soldier!”He held out his hand in Giles’ direction.
“Soldier?”growled an astonished worker.”I only see a gas pump!”
“The supply soldiers know how to camouflage,”said the sergeant in a hushed voice.”The more he looks like a gas pump, the greater value he has as a soldier!”He pushed the workers aside and walked towards Giles.
“On behalf of General Vanderspleen,I am putting on your new uniform here,”he said solemnly. He took the pants off his arm and held them out in front of Giles.
The workers were watching with their mouths open.
The sergeant threw the pants over his shoulder and placed the uniform jacket over Giles’ casing. He then added a cap for the finishing touch.
“Voila,”he grumbled with difficulty.”It doesn't entirely correspond to the rules, but it's better than nothing!”
He saluted, turned around and climbed back into his jeep.
“But what about our highway?”asked an astonished worker.”That pump…Uh…The soldier is in our way. Should we move it?”
The sergeant's eyes flashed flames.
“Are you crazy, old man?”he shouted.”The soldier is a point of support for our troops!Personally decorated by the general! If you dare to touch them,I'll drag you all to the War Council. And then you will all be shot!”
He started up the jeep and drove away.
The workers were looking at Giles, full of respect. They started their machines again, but instead of heading straight for the gas pump and lamppost, they took a turn and passed a few meters further.
“They…They passed us,” Giles stammered.”They made a turn.We…We’re saved!”
“They let us live!”the lamppost sputtered.
At the same time, they started to laugh and cry with joy.
---
The next day brought in the asphalt paver. The wide strip of land was completely covered with a thick layer of asphalt. After this machine came the line puller. It drew beautiful straight white lines that divided the highway into traffic lanes.Three one way, and three the other.Giles and the lamppost watched the work with a keen eye.As if it was their own highway. And it kind of was.
When the highway was completely finished,it was solemnly inaugurated by the minister and a whole collection of personalities.First they drove in their shiny black limousines down the brand new road. The minister looked satisfied.
“Splendid road!Well done!” he kept repeating with no signs of stopping. But since he had a very large and expensive cigar in his mouth it sounded more like “Schplendid woad!Well wone!”
The high personalities nodded.
Suddenly the minister noticed Giles with his new lemon-yellow casing.
“Stop here!”he ordered. The engine slowed down. The minister took the cigar out of his mouth and asked in a stern voice “Why hasn’t anyone told me about this gas pump?”
The high personalities stared at each other and shrugged. They didn’t know either!
“As Minister for 'the inauguration of new things',I should have known.Such negligence!”
“We can officially open up this pump,”a personality proposed.”We just opened the highway,we've got all the tools with us!”
Giles did not understand very well.”Are they going to open me up?”he worriedly wondered.”But then all my gas would leak out!The minister will certainly not allow it!”The minister thought deeply while chewing his cigar.
“Alright,” he replied briefly.
Immediately there was great commotion.
“Where is the ribbon tender?” he shouted at the top of his lungs.”And the bearer of the ministerial scissors?”
The ribbon tender advanced with dignity towards Giles. In his mouth he had a few pins and in his outstretched hands lay a large red satin ribbon.
“He’s blindfolding me first,so I can't see how they going to open me up,”Giles thought.
But the ribbon tenderr draped the ribbon around Giles and made a beautiful knot in the front.Giles looked like an Easter egg.
The scissor-bearer stepped forward even more solemnly than the ribbon tender. On a black velvet cushion he carried a pair of golden scissors.
“Surely those are metal scissors,”Giles moaned.
The minister held his cigar in one hand, and the scissors in his other.”I declare that this wonderful new lemon yellow gas pump is officially opened and is legally ready for use.”
With a quick gesture—as only a minister who inaugurates new things can do—he cut the red satin ribbon.
“And now I will refuel first!” he added. The driver pulled the big limousine forward and the treasurer slipped in a hundred into the slot.” Luckily he doesn't know about the truck,”Giles thought.”I'm only going to let him think he's the first.Otherwise he will get angry again and refuse.”
With the cigar in his mouth, the minister removed the pistol and wanted to place it in the reservoir.
“You fool!” Giles hissed.”Pay attention to your cigar!A single spark could make this whole place blow up!”
He sealed off his rubber hose and did not release a single drop of gas,in fear of an explosion.
“Your cigar, your Excellency,” said one of the high personalities.
“Hmm,It’s true,hold it for me!”
“Whew!”Giles let out a sigh of relief and released  the gas.If all his clients were this reckless,he would stop right away.
After the minister and his escorts disappeared--certainly to open other “new things” elsewhere—other cars arrived. And it was good as Giles had imagined it…An uninterrupted flow of vehicles, big and small, all kinds of models and colors.Regularly, there was one who stopped to refuel and Giles did his best to satisfy everyone. He acquired a good reputation and more and more people came to seek their gas from him.
In a line of sometimes several miles, customers waited patiently for their turn.
In the meadow behind Giles, the children were playing tag and soccer until their parents called them.
That evening,by the light of the lamppost, customers continued to line up.
“Gasoline is really cheap here,” explained a blonde woman, who had come especially from Brussels.
“And the pump has such a pretty lemon-yellow color,” her friend said.
Everyone had a good reason for preferring gas from Giles than any other source.
“It lasts a long time,”one claimed.
“It allows you to drive faster,”another thought.
A third source said it made their car give off more pleasant noises. And a fourth said he came mainly for the atmosphere.
In the midst of all this commotion,Giles carried out his work with stride. He swallowed piles of money and gave gas in return.Only once did he get scared…It was the sight of a beat-up old sidecar. On the motorcycle there was a man and in the sidecar a woman. The man got off and removed his helmet.
Giles had a shock.”Father!...Mother!...”
The father placed $100 in the slot.”This is my last one!” he grumbled.”But I’m putting it in the best gas pump in the world.”
How proud Giles was.The best pump in the world, his father said so!Instead of swallowing the money,Giles spat out a whole lot.
“Hey,what's going on?” grumbled the astonished father.”This pump gave us a jackpot.”
“Thank you very much, my little pump!” he whispered and started to refuel.
”You know,”said his mother hidden by the helmet,”it may sound ridiculous, but suddenly I’m thinking very strongly of our Giles. He loved gas pumps very much. What became of him?”
Giles heard her sniffle softly, and he also felt tears come to his eyes.
Giles fill the tank to the brim.
“Now it’s giving us too much gas.We will surely have to come back here!” said his father satisfied as he tried to read the number of liters on the meter. But he did not succeed.”The glass plate is completely fogged up,” he said.
When the old sidecar pulled away,Giles gazed longly, thinking of the past.
“Hey,Pump,is it coming?” said a loud voice.
And automatically,Giles swallowed the next customer's money…

*BREATYESS* Hellooo!! I'm sorry, but I couldn't help myself after seeing you were taking requests! If it's okay with you... Could you write something where Eijun and Kazuya are in an established relationship, and Eijun is trying to cope with not being able to see Kazuya every single day after the third years graduate? Whether it's angst or fluff is completely up to you! Thank you so much, I love your writing!!!
Hi Anon thank you so much! I’m really sorry this took so long to come out…not the best at handling requests even though I try ;D
Ship: Miyuki Kazuya x Sawamura Eijun
Closing his eyes, he took a deep breath, letting it fill his chest before slowly exhaled. His eyelids sluggishly lifted, glancing around his room slowly. Even though he’d managed to pull away before Harucchi or Furuya noticed him, he could still feel the tenseness in his shoulders and back. Lifting a hand to his hair, he removed his cap, dropping it to the ground alongside the shirt and pants he swiftly unbuttoned. Usually he went running whenever he had a chance, dragging Furuya with him, trying to convince Mi- a catcher to catch for him.
A catcher to catch for him. Not Miyuki. Because Miyuki had left him, left Eijun behind in Seidou, eager to find himself in college and then aim for the majors. And all Eijun had been able to do, what with the stars almost shining from his eyes, was smile at Miyuki, pushing the worry behind loud shouts of congratulations! and I’m so proud of you Kazuya!
Nothing to really show how he felt, and definitely not about his apprehension. On a good day, Eijun had incredible self-confidence, but without the buffer of Miyuki’s teasings and snarky remarks to push away his insecurities, Eijun floundered in his new-found lonliness. And it wasn’t just Miyuki he lost, the lack of Mochi-senpai’s exasperated chidings followed by wrestling left his dorm room silent and cold. Without Nori-senpai’s silent support and competition in the bullpen, but then constant suggestions of music while they ran together left his ears empty.
And though it had been hard to lose the first third-years, Eijun had never realized he’d lose his third-years as well. The senpai who beat him up but also who protected him. The senpai who cared for him, but also teased him. The senpai he respected, and the senpai who respected him back.
But most of all, he lost his Miyuki Kazuya.
It was melodramatic, and uncalled for. Miyuki had only moved an hour on the train away. Eijun had an open invitation to visit him at college. To come see Miyuki’s practices, or to simply spend the evening, maybe even the night. But it was now three months since Miyuki moved, and Eijun had avoided all Miyuki’s attempts to invite him over, his heart not wanting to accept the truth.
That he wouldn’t see Miyuki every night on the steps - watching Eijun run before heading to bed. That there would be no finding Miyuki face-down on his desk, his glasses still on, having fallen asleep again going over statistics from the last game. No silent rides back home, for the dorms were more or less his home by now, after losing a game. His leg pressed against Miyuki’s as he tried to both seek and give comfort. But even more then the baseball, the lack of cuddles before falling asleep with Miyuki’s face pressed against his neck, no more sleepy kisses pressed to his neck as Eijun tried to slip out in the morning for his run only to be tugged back into bed by grabby hands and a welcoming chest. No more warm kisses on the dugout, identical smirks on their faces at the disgusted but fond shouts of their teammates.
When Miyuki graduated, Eijun had forced himself not to yell at Miyuki. To hide the fear of being abandoned. At the graduation ceremony, he hadn’t managed to hold back the tears, but he could see that he wasn’t the only one affected - Miyuki’s eyes welled up though he managed to hold it in, just barely. Eijun had balled. And his hands shook, even as Miyuki teasingly pressed a button into Eijun’s hands, joking that this wasn’t really something Eijun deserved. Miyuki’s voice had shook in tandem with Eijun’s hands.
The huge loss had affected every part of Eijun’s life, some more then others. Eijun, incredibly, was quieter. Not noticeably by anyone not on the team, but he’d seen the confused glances shared by Harucchi and Furuya. He found himself paying a bit more attention in class, hoping that he would get into the same college. Kanemaru’s face matched the sensei’s when he actually asked a question in class. If it was possible, Eijun somehow became even more intense about baseball, dropping his shoujo manga to read baseball statistics, or eating while making notes about how to improve his batting. The bags under his eyes deepened, crevices in his face from the lack of restful sleep.
His responses to Miyuki’s texts were the same, excitable and silly, but he could see that Miyuki was being told what Eijun was doing. There was concern and constant questions being plied at Eijun every day.
Coming back to the present moment, Eijun slipped into bed, wrapping the blanket tightly around his body, willing himself to sleep. A soft bzzz! was heard in the room, pulling his attention to his phone on the night stand. Expecting the usual good night from Miyuki he’d gotten every day since they got together, he almost wanted to ignore it even though he knew he’d pay for it in the morning through a call when Eijun wasn’t fully awake enough to guard his words. But at the second vibration, he knew something was different - Miyuki only ever texted once.
Reaching over, he grabbed the phone before pulling his arms back into the cocoon of blankets he’d made. Smiling briefly at the lockscreen of Miyuki and him, Eijun pressing a kiss into Miyuki’s face, he unlocked the phone.
MIYUKI KAZUYA!! O(≧∇≦)O: Look above you bakamura.
MIYUKI KAZUYA!! O(≧∇≦)O: bakamura!
His head flipped up, seeing a pair of glasses hanging over the bed above him. The hand holding them was one he knew well, but the concerned face he saw was one he didn’t.
Miyuki’s face tightened for a moment, as if he was holding back something bad, before he spoke through clenched teeth. “Why have you been avoiding me Eijun?”
Eijun flinched at the question, struggling to maintain any composure, before he crumbled. He couldn’t hide anything could he?
Never from Kazuya.

WELCOME BACK!
<3 I really missed you, and it’s so great to hear you had fun! (and omg yes so ready to see all those beautiful pics)
Yaaayyyy join me in MCU feels hell. And oooh, you have a ship for the fandom now! Like, Stoki’s still my favorite Steve pairing but Stony’s really cool too…you know I ship almost everything XD (also am I the only person who sorta hated almost everyone by the end of CW? Like, of course they’re still my favs and there are still some cinnamon rolls, but, come on. Why couldn’t you all just get along ;-;)
Speaking of Illumi, do you know that Hisoka/Illumi is an incredibly popular ship in the HxH fandom? Probably because both of them are so horrible that they have like 0 friends other than each other. Nobody else wants to hang out with these losers. (Chrollo tolerates Hisoka and the adults in Illumi’s family seem to spend enough time with him to give him orders, but that’s about it.) It’s a trash ship with two trashy people and tbh I love it XD
So continuing with the eye jokes, imagine. Hisoillu version of Helpless. Hisoillu version of Satisfied.
“Look into his eyes and the sky’s the limit”
“Intelligent eyes in a hunger-pang frame”
(I know you did thise one before but still) “But when I fantasize at night, it’s Illumi’s eyes”
just, I’m imagining animatics for this with the ‘camera’ zooming in on Illumi’s dead fish eyes every time the lyrics mention them. It’s hilarious and also mildly terrifying
(though I guess if we’re actually making a Hamilton AU Hisoka’s way more likely to do something like Say No To This…)
idk if I’d want to be a parent either really LOL. Kids are adorable but I don’t think I’ll ever be responsible enough to raise one…
If Ishida makes a plot twist or something about it being someone else pretending to be Hide I'm actually gonna get mad. Dude. Not only would that bring the Hide feels right back it’d just make absolutely no sense omg
(also you read the new chapter, right? So, let’s talk about Juuzou and that huge death flag)
I’ve heard of Soul Eater and considered reading it but it’s not really the kind of thing I’m into…artwork’s cute, though, and Death the Kid seems like an interesting guy so maybe someday XD
AGH I’M ACTUALLY SORTA JEALOUS BECAUSE WOW I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA HOW TO WATCH THAT LEGALLY HERE IN KOREA. (unless I ask my dad for help but he doesn’t like manga/anime at all, so…) But yes, I’m really happy Lizzy finally got her moment this time! Now anime-only fans can’t complain about her being a ‘shallow’ character so hopefully there’ll be less fighting over Lizzy in the Kuro fandom :D
FINALLY. Fellow Death Note fan <3333 Who’s your fav? Do you have any ships? Are you done with the anime??? :D (also do you know…you picked a really interesting time to join the DN fandom. The American live-action movie just came out and it sucks so freaking bad, like I haven’t even watched it yet and just from the reviews/clips, here’s what I got:
-They turned Misa into this Harley Quinn-type character. Only without any depth.
-Light/Misa is an actual canon ship, like, it’s not abusive or one-sided like it is in the anime/manga, it’s just…a thing. Light loves Misa. Misa loves Light. It’s like every cringey high school romance movie ever, only with more murder
-They freaking bent the Death Note rules just so Light could get away with all sorts of ridiculous stuff
-L cries, L rants, L is overly emotional
-Light tells L where he hid a page from his Death Note. Light doesn’t deny being Kira. Light shows Misa his Death Note when they like barely know each other and she’s still a complete stranger to him. Light acts like an idiot.
-Oh sure, he’s Kira, God of the New World, but he still cares about going to prom with his girlfriend and making stupid faces as they pose for pictures
-So much unnecessary gore. Heart attacks are Kira’s thing, Light isn’t that emotional about his kills, he doesn’t care as long as the 'villains’ are dead, so why???
-Apparently Rem does not exist. Sayu doesn't exist either. Light’s mom is dead (probably so he can angst over her)
-Light Turner. Light TURNER. Out of all the surnames they could have chosen…
-And now, for the most unforgivable sin:
How dare they not include the Potato Chip scene)
And then random things: JJ and Light have the same voice actor. Yurio and Mello (imo…have you met Mello yet?) could be long-lost twins.
Also:
I’ve fallen into Steven Universe hell and now I’m imagining so. Many. Gem AUs. Have you ever heard of SU?
(look:
1- don’t stress about the messages, and come on, I’d never get mad at you over something like this! You’re way too awesome.
2-  I don’t really know what to say 'cause I’m bad at comforting people, but ugh, it sucks to hear that school’s tiring you out! Queen Luna’s gonna get through this, though. I mean, you’re great at so many things and you’re freaking smart and…this is awkward but maybe you understand Evans Language by now? XD Guess I’m just trying to say that I’m sure you’ll do great, and if you ever need someone to talk to I’m (almost) always free *hugs*
3- Um. So, other than tumblr, I think the only way I can talk with you right now is if we email each other? The email address I used this time is my real one (or rather, my dad’s, since I don’t have one of my own yet…) so maybe we can talk about this more through email and find a better way to contact each other? If that’s ok with you can you send me a message there?)
P.S:
I’ve started college and have no idea what I’m doing
*slams head against keyboard* guess who managed to get sick. It’s only been a week since school started. Whatever, I’m still going to school, but I woke up breathing like a fish on land, bc asthma. Yay.
I’m definitely gonna upload the pics today!!
Okay, but one thing I’m wondering about, is How? Not in a malicious way or anything, I’m genuinely curious to why you ship Stoki (and where it began). Was it that redemption fic you told me about or did you ship it before?
Tbh, I didn’t hate the characters in CW, I hated the situation. Because there’s so so much pointless conflict that could easily be solved if everyone sat down and talked like normal people. But nooo we have to go around attacking each other. ((ALSO CAP’S LETTER TO TONY, I AM DEAD))
I’ve already learned (and experienced) that shipping is a very weird and unusual thing, so I’ll be honest and say I’m not even surprised that ship exists. At least it has some basis XD
I’m actually tempted to go through the lyrics of the whole musical and find every single eye line there is, only to replace it w Illumi’s eyes.
Not only zooming in on the eyes, the word itself is louder than the rest XD man if only I could draw…
Tbh I’d say I’m responsible enough (HA, that’s more or less a lie), but I’m honestly way too irritated with the little ones to be able to have one of my own. My cousin recently celebrated her 3rd bday and I was stuck looking after her during the party, bc all the adults were talking among themselves and I swear to god, I haven’t moved that much since I had to run 2km for PE. Where do they get their energy. Not to mention the adults thought it would be a good idea to leave me w her, because I’d already drunk 3 glasses of wine (i was bored and not allowed to do anything other than stare at emptiness or look after a 3yo). Turns out my tolerance isn’t that bad after all.
Lol let’s be honest, Ishida would totally do that. He knows the fandom would riot and that’s the whole point.
All the death flags. Tbh I don’t know how I feel about it. It’s obvious that either Touka or Juuzou are probably gonna die and I wan’t neither (If I have to choose tho, I’d rather Juuzou survives.) Also Naki. HNNNNNNGH
I think you’d actually like the manga? It takes a pretty dark turn compared to the anime and deals with lots of mental issues (the whole theme of the later volumes is Madness). Also, lots of death XD Well, the artwork changes drastically, so which one are you talking about XD
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The girl in the coat (left first pic, middle 2nd) is the same person for reference. Death the Kid was one of my first anime crushes. The guy has OCD and is a total badass.
MUHAHAHAHA I think someone uploaded the Lizzy fight to youtube so you can probably find it there, but I am in love. The animation is beautiful, so that’s also a huge plus. All in all, it was handled really well.
Death Note
Tumblr media
So last I’ve watched is ep 25, aka the one WHERE L DIES. And i am not okay. I am nowhere near okay. Nope. Not at all.
Oh i’ve heard all about the adaptation. Tbh I find the whitewashing hilarious. Setting the movie in America removes so much of the series’s logic, so why? L being the way he is is probably my favourite mistake. They took the best character and ruined him completely.  POTATO CHIP SCENE NOOOO But my question is: did everything go just according to the keikaku?
Have fun w SU! I’ve watched it for a while, but gave up at some point. I might pick it up again if I have the time ^^ Word of advice, watch out for the fandom, they’re among the most toxic ones I’ve ever encountered. One time, they almost drove an artist to suicide because she didn’t draw Rose ‘thick enough’. So yeah.
Tumblr media
What did I do to deserve you as my friend TT^TT Thank you so so much, those words mean more than you can imagine.
Um. Looks like we’ll be staying here, because I never, ever check my mail, despite getting school assignments there, so yeah. If we used mail, you’d probably get a response every leap year.
How does the education system work in Korea? Like, at what age do you start going to which school?
Also, I’ve told you about Mystic Messenger? I think you’d like the newest update, because damn, it’s creeping me out. Also, it’s in Korean, so + ((My thoughts during the prologue of the new route: Nani the fuck))

Cutie Reviews: Kawaii Box Jan 19
Here I am with another Kawaii Box review!
To be honest, after my concerns and small-annoyances with the Blippo order I got, I feel like my opinions on Kawaii Box have altered a little. On one hand, I appreciate how much effort they put into it and I like the surprise of never knowing what to expect- but on the other... I don’t know, the blippo order sort of left a bad taste.
I also came to a decision. This month I plan on checking out the Japan Crate online store and see what they have. If I find enough I like I’ll be making a purchase from them and see how that goes.
Tumblr media
Word of the month: Fuyu - Winter
Okay, so first I’ll be showing a DIY candy we got for this month. I’m pretty excited because this is a new one that was released sometime last year I believe, and I’ve never tried it before.
Tumblr media
As usual I’ll be covering this in a separate post, so look forward to that ;3
Praise Stamp Set
Tumblr media
Our first item (ironically I took this one last) is a cute set of “praise dog“ stamps. I think these might be one of those “dollar store” items, which you can usually tell due to the quality of the box. As soon as I went to open it, it ripped so I’ll probably throw away the box and find a container to put these in.
I couldn’t find these or anything like them on Blippo, but they did have some other stamp sets. This specific one features a cute pink ink pad and 5, wood block stamps featuring cute little phrases and images.
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Well, besides the cute color the ink pad uses, I think the stamps are adorable. They would be perfect for little notes or papers, and 3 out of the 5 would be great to share with friends or others (I say that because the other two have asian writing on them). But for a “praise“ theme I’m not sure what tea has to do with it..
The stamps also work, and of course you could use them with other ink pads too, which is why I think stamps are kind of fun x3 they’re very versatile; I loved using them to make pictures when I was little.
Animal Spray Bottle
Tumblr media
Our next item... to be frank, I don’t think would be ideal during winter if you would try to use it in cold environments or when outside- but outside of winter it’d be great!
Back when I first started to get these boxes, one of the first few items I saw was a cute little spray bottle. I used it for a good while afterwards, simply putting water in it to use during summer. A little misting on the head and you’ll feel a lot cooler. But you could also use it for perfume, toner, pretty much anything liquidy.
On Blippo.com, this is available in 4 different colors/animals for $2.90. They also have the old one I got on there for $3.50.
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Besides being cute I think something like this is pretty helpful; especially if you feel hot or sticky. Spritzing yourself with a mist of water is very cooling~
The lid also stays on nice and tight, so I’m sure you wouldn’t have to worry about it coming loose and then getting the product all over yourself or items.
Moomin Plush
Tumblr media
Our next item is this cute hand-sized Moomin plush. It is a bean-bag plush, and not only is it cuddly, but it can be attached to various items with it’s matching ball chain, or attached to things with the included suction cup.
This is available on Blippo for $5.90
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Besides a small section of its tail that’s a bit... weird, the stitching and detail is very nice. He’s very cute and soft too, and I like the versatility of how you can use it.
Tofu Squishy Charm
Tumblr media
I love tofu squishies~ they’re so cute and soft, and this one is so little and adorable, I can’t get over it! Anyone who likes to collect squishy has at least one of these, whether you think it’s tofu or a marshmallow; or in this case an ice cube.
With the included strap you can bring this little sweetie around with you or just remove it and plop it somewhere you would need some stress relief.
You can find these in a variety of colors on Blippo, each $1.33
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
It’s very soft and mushy-squishy, it’s maybe a 6-7 out of 10 in terms of rising speed. It’s slow but it’s not a satisfying slow rise, but if you’re like me and don’t care about that then I think it’s just slow enough to keep quickly squeezing.
The only problem I see with it is the fact it’s “lining/trim“ is very messy, which you can see in the pic. This is an easy fix with an execto knife or scissors though.
Dessert Sticker Set
Tumblr media
Next up is this adorable set of sweets-themed stickers. You get a 30 count, a couple of each of the items shown above, with 2 of the very large sticker. On Blippo besides this set, there are sets of strawberry, sweet breakfast, and ice cream desserts, each one costing $2.90
The stickers appear to have a shimmery, semi-metallic finish and gold, shiny detailing to ensure they will catch attention wherever you use them. The page doesn’t mention it, but I also detected a scent while observing these. I’m not sure if it was the stickers or the packaging, but it’s a light, sweet aroma~
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
You can’t really say much about stickers- but I really like these! Being the sweets addict I am, these are right up my alley. The quality and detail is really pretty, especially when you compare them to the sticker sheets -in which I usually find little errors- and I wish we got these types more often.
Korean Tape Set
Tumblr media
Anyone whose been around here will probably recognize this setup. This is probably the third set of these we’re getting (but it’s a bit different looking than usual), and this time the tapes seem to be more... decorative in inspiration in comparison to the flashier, bright colored tapes I’ve gotten before. But we’re getting a variety: 2 colorful patterns, 2 England and America inspired, and 2 elegant floral.
The tape dispenser is the same as always though.
You can find this set and others on Blippo for $2.90.
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
I do enjoy deco tapes and I love collecting swatches/samples of them to unwind a little now and then, but I tend to get a little tired of these specific ones. However, in saying that I actually really liked this set! The tapes rip very cleanly and the tape dispenser works the best out of the 3 I’ve had so far. I like the mix of themes too, because I feel like this set could be really versatile in use.
Hungry Whale Hole Punch
Tumblr media
This box has been really working on the feels, because when I was little another item I liked to collect and play with was decorative, cutesy hole punches. I still have them somewhere in my bedroom but I don’t really do anything with them anymore. If I did you can bet I would be purchasing the rest of the collection, also $2.90 a piece on Blippo.
There are 6 different colors, each with at least 4 different possible designs (like mine has a snowflake, fish bones, a teddy bear, and a star). It was pretty lucky that the one I got has a snowflake, given the theme right~?
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Besides being the most precious thing I saw in this box, it also works as you can see.
Candy Highlighters
Tumblr media
Our last 2 items are (ironically) a packet of highlighters, and a pen. If you saw my Blippo.com review then I just recently bought some highlighters- but they were different shapes. Although I also do possess some like these, but they are scented and have bright pattern designs.
Meanwhile this pack isn’t scented, and they have a nice pastel color scheme. On Blippo the set is $3.90
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
They work perfectly fine, the colors are much more neon and bright than their outside makes them look.
Our other item is this adorable Cardcaptor Sakura pen, available in either pale pink or white. Each pen is $2.90. As I grew up a big fan of Cardcaptor, I was really excited to see this x3 maybe we’ll get sailor moon pens soon~
If you like Cardcaptor they also have wand and stand sets you can buy on Blippo, but they’re kind of expensive...
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
The pen is a bit top-heavy, but i didn’t have any problem with writing using it. It writes very well and is a fine tip; if anything I’m a little disappointed there’s no where to put the cap while using it due to the ornamental top. I also noticed it’s a slow dryer. It’s been more than 10 minutes since I tried using it and when I rubbed my finger over it, it smeared a bit and it was very lightly on my finger.
♥ Cutie Ranking ♥
Content - ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ We got 10 items this time, and while it’s heavily stationery dominated again I’m much more fond of these items compared to the previous box. I’m not sure if it’s because they were a bit sentimental for me, or if I just responded better to them. They all work and were good, even if it they had a few, tiny itty-bitty nitpicks there was nothing to ruin anything for me.
Theme - ♥ Uh... I’m sorry but no. I see no sign of winter on this except for the cover art and whale hole punch I got; and only because it has a snowflake hole. There was a large chance I wouldn’t even get that one, so it’s not a guaranteed item.
Total Rank: 6 out of 10 Cuties. I loved the items, they were all cute and they work well- some better than others obviously. There was a handful of “nit-picks” I had which also plays a small part in rating this, I just think they failed in terms of the theme of this months specific box...
♥ Cutie Scale ♥
1. Hungry Whale Hole Punch - It’s so cute!! I love to just stroke it and think of it like an adorable little baby whale~
2. Squishy Tofu - it’s so sweet and squishy~
3. Dessert Stickers - They’re so shiny! I love them!
4. Animal Spray Bottle - It’s pretty simple, but sometimes it works. Here it has a gentle, pastel aesthetic, and the lid is pretty cute.
5. Tape Set - As I already said, I enjoyed the versatility with the different designs. It’s nice if you don’t want to buy a huge amount of different deco tapes and have something little to carry them in. The dispenser was the best out of the ones I’ve tried so far.
6. Moomin Plush - I want to snuggle it~
7. Stamp Set - It’s very cute and little, I love the pink ink!
8. Cardcaptor Sakura Pen - As much as I love the anime/manga-based item and this series, I wasn’t in love with the pen, even though the detail was nice and it was a fine tip like how I like.
9. Candy Highlighters - I like the pearly pastel coloring, I kind of wish the ink was the same though cause I think I have enough highlighters in this style already.
Alrighty cuties :3 here we are, at the end of another review~ I’m so excited, because next up will be an ultra-fun DIY kit and Tokyo Treat! Until next time, remember to open up a box of cuteness every day~

Twilight Princess Manga!
My copy of volume 5 of the Twilight Princess manga adaptation got here today. I’m about halfway through it now, but after a pretty faithful adaptation of Zant’s introductory scene from the game, they added some stuff, and I need to ramble.
I really like the new additions! Zelda didn’t get a lot of screentime in the game, so it’s nice to see Akira Himekawa really making her moments count here, and taking advantage of manga’s lack of interactive elements to expand on things and add backstory and narrative elements they couldn’t put in the game. Because if the scenes I just finished had been in the game? I think I would’ve gotten annoyed at having such long cut scenes, and “giving away” plot/character elements too early (though the game probably would’ve gotten around it by having just a few lines of narration, to avoid showing the spoilery bits).
I was really hesitant about reading the Twilight Princess manga adaptation. While I’ve enjoyed some of Akira Himekawa’s works--I liked their Phantom Hourglass one okay, and Minish Cap was a lot of fun--some of the decisions they made regarding others, namely Sheik in Ocarina of Time and especially how they handled the Happy Mask Salesman’s character in the Majora’s Mask manga adaptation, have made me a little wary of reading more. So when Twilight Princess finally got a manga adaptation ten years after the game was released, there were a lot of mixed emotions for me. On one hand, it meant more exposure for my favorite versions of Link and Zelda (and hopefully more Twilight Princess-based merch? probably not now that BoTW is popular, but a girl can dream). On the other, it meant someone’s character could get butchered, or the storyline could get radically altered in ways that were “a bit not good.”
So of course, I ended up checking TV Tropes to see if anyone got “Adaptational Villainy” or any other variant of Adaptation Personality Change, as well as trying to get into various forums to see how things were being handled. At the time, I couldn’t find a lot, and even then, how would I know if it was reliable, or if someone else was reading it differently than me?
I found some scans of the first few chapters and read them. I don’t know if I’ll ever get used to Link talking in adaptations. I know he probably does talk in the games, and we just don’t hear it so that we can project our own intonations and whatnot, but my siblings and I have always liked to headcanon him as nonverbal or close to it. Still, I got used to his voice and some of the minor adjustments in his personality. Again, the games like to leave a lot of room for interpretation with Link, so who was to say that wasn’t just how they read him?
And then the Twilight fell, and while I wasn’t completely happy with everything, there were enough moments I did like, and enough of the changes caught my interest, and I decided to get the first volume at my local bookstore. I continued to “preview” using scans for the next two volumes or so, but then school life caught up, and so I wasn’t able to read any scans before the print version came out for volume 4.
And the “jump scare” from the first half of the game? Every bit as effective in the manga version. (Especially since they frickin’ made me wait half a year to get the next part.) I do think it was for the best that that scene was adapted pretty closely, since it’s so iconic to the game. But I also think it’s better that not every scene is adapted quite so closely. Otherwise, why would I bother reading the manga when I could just play the game again?
But also! There are so many little character moments, and for seemingly minor characters at that! Ook’s struggle with getting older and weaker was not something I expected to see, but I really liked it! Additionally, some of the changes they made with Ilia’s allow for potential routes to be explored that didn’t get to be in the game. While I liked her and Link’s story in the game, that will still be there when the manga finishes, and it’s nice to get to see other versions of it.
I’m admittedly still on the fence about how they’re doing King Bulblin. On one hand, making him more actively sinister and malicious (which feels wrong to say, because he did kidnap a child, tie him to his flag, and implicitly taunt Link over it in the game. But some of the threats against Ilia in the manga version...). But making him more actively sinister and malicious opens up the possibility for either Bulblin not being redeemed, or for a bigger change leading up to it, as well as showing more of his thought process as he puzzles out his ideals on strength and weakness. While it will take some of the oomph out of his “I fight for the strongest side. That is all I have ever known” from the game, having been one of his only two lines of dialogue, it is still interesting to explore more of his thought process. (and it’ll definitely be interesting to see how they do “I fight for the strongest side” since it no longer has its unique position as one of only two instances where he speaks, but it’s so iconically Bulblin that I can’t see them getting rid of it)
The manga seems to assume that most of its readers have played or watched playthroughs of the game, so it allows itself to compress some elements while expanding on others, and doesn’t worry itself too much about keeping some of the spoilery bits secret. There are still elements it hasn’t touched on yet with some of the characters and plot points, but I like how Midna’s true form not being a secret opens up for more backstory and exploration of her and Zelda’s characters in ways that might have slowed the pace of the game.
I think the manga also benefits from getting more volumes compared to the other adaptations. Some of them worked pretty well with shorter stories, like Phantom Hourglass, which was one of the shorter games and probably wouldn’t have done as well with a longer series, since it would have run out of plot. But for Twilight Princess, there’s a lot of stuff and a lot of characters, so I don’t know if a compressed adaptation could have done it justice, since it would have had to massively cut down some arcs, and maybe even remove some of the major supporting cast members.
Overall, I really feel like the manga adaptation of Twilight Princess plays to some of the strengths of the medium, and I’m really excited both to finish volume 5, and to see what comes out next!

Stylefile Marker Review
Stylefile Marker Review
Just over a month or so ago, I was allowed the opportunity to review these incredible, German based, Stylefile Markers. As we all know, especially in the art world, you can bet your hands on anything designed and or manufactured in Germany, being of incredibly high standards, so I was very excited to be given this opportunity.
As I have mentioned in my YouTube review of the Stylefile Markers, I try my best when reviewing a product to keep the review completely about that company and not mention other companies. I will however, be releasing a series videos specifically comparing similar products, but when it comes to markers, so many people, myself included, consciously or subconsciously compare to the most widely renowned Japanese markers used by so many manga and anime illustrators.
within the past few years, so many cheap versions of the Japanese illustrator markers have flooded the market, most of which not even coming close, however, the last year has seen that market change so dramatically, of which I have reviewed some excellent alternative markers. The Stylefile Markers however, as a collection and I will explain the collection in this review, deliver exceptional quality and a uniqueness I've never seen before in any marker brand.
Also with the Stylefile Markers, I completed my first ever speed drawing of the Marvel character "Black Panther" and I can say that the Stylefile markers and their fantastic range of nibs made the result of the drawing, as good as it is. To see the speed drawing you can see it here.

Stylefile Markers
As I have mentioned, the Stylefile markers are a German based company and if you take a look on their web site, in the gallery section, you will notice that, although not exclusively, a lot of amazing graffiti artists have taken to the Stylefile marker, in fact, if you read the history of the company, you will discover that the concept of the Stylefile marker was born from the professional graffiti world. Stylefile started out around 2009 and since then have been evolving ever since, introducing more innovative approaches to marker art. I have to say, I have fallen in love with these incredible markers and let me show you why.
Types Of Stylefile Markers
There are three different types of Stylefile markers available at the minute and as I have mentioned, as a collection, as a collaboration between all three styles of marker, Stylefile make creating your art such an amazing experience. It is also important to mention that these markers are also Alcohol based as I know some people are sensitive to such markers, however, I must say that there is very little to no odour from the markers, although I fully understand that some people are just more sensitive than others to this type of medium.
The Classic
The first of the markers is the Classic, the classic sports a black, round barrel, the marker is dual tipped with each end cap displaying the colour of the ink in the marker. As well as the end caps being the same colour as the ink, both caps have the name of the pigment written on them as well as a numerical code, representing the colour should you need to either replace the marker individually, or purchase a refill.
Along the barrel of the marker, toward the end caps, a large dot and small dot have been painted on the barrel, helping the artists to visually identify which cap reveals the chisel nib and which the fine bullet nib with the large dot representing the chisel nib. The small dot represents the fine bullet nib, however, there is also a thin light grey band between the cap and the barrel, adding another visual guide to which nib is covered by the cap. A lot of marker artists will contest to the fact that on many occasions, they will have had to take of both caps in order to locate the desired nib, but with these easy to identify markings, Stylefile has removed this headache.
The nibs on the Stylefile Classic is of a classic nature and perhaps nibs you have seen in other markers, however, the quality of the nib is also a major factor and Stylefile have sourced the highest quality nibs. I have only been using my Stylefile markers for approximately a month and a half, in this short period of time I have used the markers extensively, as you may also be able to see in the speed drawing of Marvel's "Black Panther" I created.

Stylefile Brush Marker
Next up is the Stylefile Brush Marker, now the brush marker seems to be the most popular type of nib that marker artists are looking for and Stylefile do not fall short. As with the Stylefile Classic, the Brush marker sports a light grey barrel, also displaying the same large and small dots close to the end caps for ease of identifying the nib types. As with the Classic, rather than a light grey band, the Brush sports a black band between the barrel and cap as another identifying feature of the brush tip. So the large dot indicates the chisel nib and the small dot, along with the black band, identifies the brush nib.
Again, as with the Classic, the lids on the Brush marker are the same colour as the ink within the marker, again making it incredibly easy to select the colours you want at a glance. Looking a little bit closer, you will also see that both lids are marked with the colour name and a numerical code representing the pigment should you need to order a replacement marker or refill.
The Stylefile Brush tip is an excellent tip, with a level of flexibility allowing for a plethora of marks to be made. Also, in some of my other marker reviews, people have contacted me months later and told me that the nib on their particular marker has either lost it's point or frayed. As previously mentioned, I have been using the Stylefile markers extensively for a month and a half now and the Stylefile Brush tip has kept its shape perfectly, no fraying and ink flow has remained as rich and free flowing as the day I first used them.
Stylefile Brush Marker Skin tone's
I was incredibly fortunate that Stylefile sent me a wonderful 12 set of Brush Tip Skin Tones which as you can see from the images below, this set in itself is such a valuable set to have in your arsenal.

Stylefile Allround Marker
The Stylefile Allround is the third marker in the Stylefile range and also the newest to the lineup, but in my opinion, the Stylefile Allround is what really sets this brand among the other so many marker companies. I have never seen another marker out there, with the same nibs that the Allround sports.
As with the Classic and the Brush, the barrel is round and dark grey in colour, making all three Stylefile markers really easy to distinguish between one an other. The Allround also has the same markings to help identify which nib is under the lid. So, on to the nibs and what makes them so unique and why I feel, that as a collection, the Stylefile markers are the finest on the market.
The large dot on the Classic and Brush markers represents a chisel nib, but not in the Allround, this time the large dot identifies a nib I have never seen anywhere before, never mind in a marker. I really don't know how to describe it, so the best thing to do is show you the nib.
The other nib on the Allround is yet another nib I have not seen on a marker but it is one heck of a nib and one that really helped me with the Black Panther drawing I done. Actually, the reason I chose the Black Panther drawing was because, Stylefile sent to me a set of 12 Neutral Greys and in the set of 48 Brush markers, there was 12 Neutral Grey Brush markers. I felt Marvel's, "Black Panther" drawing would allow me to demonstrate the range of amazing nibs and just how well the Stylefile markers all work together.
As you can see from the image above, the Stylefile Allround nib is along the same lines as a fine liner, but with all the power of an artist grade marker at the helm. The Allround as I mentioned is one of Stylefile's newer markers to the range and as things stand, the Allround does not have the same vast selection of colours the other two have. This may be the way things will stay or perhaps more colours will be introduced to the range at a later date. Regardless, the Allround is an outstanding marker and one I will be saving my money to get some of the colour sets.
Stylefile Over All Features
So I have spoke about some of the individual features of the markers, but altogether, Stylefile have really pushed the boat out to make this marker stand out among the many markers clambering to reach the top spot. to be honest though, I don't think Stylefile are interested in entering some race to be top choice marker for illustrators and artists a like, I feel Stylefile confidently let their product do the talking and stand alone with a unique art product for artists and illustrators of all walks to love adore and pine for.
The first thing I noticed about the Stylefile markers was the incredible ease of removing the lids. So many markers have really stiff lids to remove and it is almost a tug or war game to remove them, this is not the case with all three of the Stylefile Markers.
Although the barrels of the Stylefile markers are round, on all the lids there is a small fin preventing the barrel from rolling off your work surface. Stylefile have also made identifying all three different markers really easy with their very different barrel colours
Stylefile Sets
The best way to find out about the sets and pricing is to visit Stylefile's awesome web site, they have a section on there, with a map of the world and the distributers of the Stylefile markers. Simply click on your country and a list of stores will be provided of where you can purchase the markers in that particular country.
For the Classic Marker, sets of 6, 12, 24, 36, 48 and 72, there is also a 120 Display set along with a huge 756 display case for retailers to purchased, complete with markers.
The Brush Marker sets are the same as the Classic, 6, 12 , 24, 36, 48 and 72 as well as the retailer display sets which I have to say look absolutely amazing. I say retailer display sets, anyone can purchase them really as they are available on Amazon as well as the Stylefile web site.
The Allround as I have mentioned are the new kid to the lineup, they have a 12 set of Neutral Greys, 12 set called Main Set a and a 12 set Main Set B. Both A and B sets are colours.
As well as the sets, I have mentioned throughout the review that the markers can be purchased individually in Open Stock which is fantastic, however, Stylefile have also started with 25ml refills bottles, which in themselves look amazing.
Stylefile Sketch Pads
Of course, Stylefile don't just stop with the outstanding markers, they also provide the perfect surface to use these beauties on. When Stylefile sent the markers to me, I almost threw out the box after removing the markers, but I knew it was too heavy to be an empty box. So I removed all the packing paper to protect the markers and much to my delight found an A3 Stylefile Marker Sketch Pad. However, they also have hard back pads which look amazing, I haven't used them yet, hence I say yet as I can assure you, this will not be the last review you hear from me and this amazing company Stylefile. I plan of purchasing the colour range of the Allround, the Cool and Warm Greys in the Brush and a hard back Sketch pad and if my funds can stretch I will purchase an empty Stylefile storage shelf which I will of course review and add to my growing art storage reviews.
Conclusion
I know this is perhaps a bit of a long review, however, when you think about it, this review covers three individual markers that just so happen to be from the same company. I won't ramble on and so will just say I loved these markers. Their lay down and coverage was beautiful, the colours in the markers rich and the unique nibs, as a collection, allow marker artists to tackle any work their heart desire, no matter how detailed. I love the Stylefile Marker and highly highly highly recommend this marker to any marker artist out there. Don't forget, to see the Stylefile marker in action, please check out my "Black Panther" speed drawing on my YouTube channel.

Thoughts on the “Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure” English dub. Episode nine.
and thus one of my favorite variations of Dio was born, Floating Head Dio
something I like with this series is you don’t see major events undone, what I mean is things like Dio turning all these people isn’t erased much like how the Kawajiri family is still broken at the end of DIU
for how this series can get, there is a feeling of permanence to it that many other famous anime lack
Jonathan, Zeppeli, they don’t get a reset button and even if there are deaths within this series I did not want or see a need for I appreciate Araki committing to his decisions
“our work here is done” for now
I am gonna miss this intro
also they added sound effects over the music. hmmm.
sorry but I always hated Erina’s wedding gown
“Mr. Speedwagon! you almost missed being able to say goodbye” I’m sad
GET. OFF. THAT. BOAT.
“these tears that I cry are from joy, joy that I’m here with you” STOP
also can we appreciate that Erina is pregnant at this point?
just reminding everyone I guess
its too bad they axed some scenes with Jonathan and Erina as kids since I really like how Michelle voices her
THEY JUST WANTED TO BE HAPPY GOD DAMMIT
so in the manga anyway Jonathan swears after hitting his head, not sure if the Japanese anime kept it or not but eh it was an endearing moment
dramatic color change of drama
also the music that plays when Jonathan spots Wang Chan reminds me of the opening part of Jojo Sono Chi no Kioku (my second favorite intro by the way)
he got a splitting headache!
“where is...my body?” um it got destroyed? sorry?
Floating Head Dio will always be hilarious to me
so the family behind Erina is one I can’t take seriously anymore because someone a while back posted those screen caps of them and wrote “dammit honey I can’t take you anywhere!”
its still funny
“Dio...” “Jojo...” this sums up PB in a nutshell
“if there really is a God, one who plucks the strings that bind our fates, I am certain that our fates were bound together for a reason” a point further substantiated by SBR, but a point we still don’t really know much about
whatever reason it is that Jonathan and Dio are so bound up together we can only leave it to personal interpretation because Araki never tells us
maybe that’s intentional, maybe he just didn’t bother giving us a reason, for me I just see Jonathan and Dio as representing two opposing forces that are constantly at odds
granted Johnny and Diego are very different from their counterparts which is why they are characters in their own right instead of extensions of these two, but the fact that they still got tied up with each other in their timeline does prove that Araki sees the Joestars and Dio as two entities that will always be involved with each other
this is jumping the gun, but this ties into why I wish he explored Giorno’s connections to Jonathan and Dio more as he’s literally the byproduct of Dio forcing himself into Jonathan’s fate
look, look with your special eyes
so the fact that he shatters the glass with his eye beams and is still fine suggests that the jar was not necessary at all and just something he did for aesthetics
RIP Lisa Lisa’s birth parents
I’ll give them credit for making baby Lisa Lisa a brunette, since I recall the manga making her blond (oops)
“the body of my dearest foe has become my future!” you have no idea
all Jonathan wants to do is save Erina...
its Dio’s turn at exposition now
this is a beautiful moment and I also gotta say Araki might be the only person who wrote a shonen manga that was not afraid to show his couple kissing (well okay him and Togashi since Yusuke and Keiko kiss)
why are authors of shonen manga so afraid of showing any intimacy between their leading male and his love interest? do you assume the readers still think girls have cooties? even American comics show the heroes kissing women
unfriendly reminder that Erina is only 19
fuck you Dio
okay the way Dio says “velvet boudoir” is hilarious especially knowing a boudoir is something for women not men
GEWDBAI JOJO
he stabbed Floating Head Dio in his neck, a weird area to attack a floating head admittedly
“farewell to you my beloved” no....
back when the SDC finale aired I mentioned this series never making me cry before (though seeing Jotaro and Joseph say goodbye to Polnareff came close) but this is really effective
I think coming back to certain parts of the series has helped me realize that even something as ridiculous as Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure can move me
I mentioned previously that I once felt Jonathan’s death was undermined by SDC and how now I see that’s untrue. Jonathan’s goal throughout this climax was get Erina to safety, stop Dio but get Erina to safety at all costs. she is pregnant with their only son and leaving with the future mother to their only grandchild, the legacy is what Jonathan died for. it was not just about stopping Dio, assuming it was about that was very narrow minded of me. the fact that his bloodline carried onward even in highly complicated ways is his true victory. without his heroic death Joseph wouldn’t have been able to stop Kars, Jotaro wouldn’t have finished what he started with Dio, Josuke wouldn’t have saved Morioh, Giorno wouldn’t have defeated Diavolo, Jolyne would not have accomplished all that she did, because none of them would have existed
in the back of the official English manga there are nice writings from Araki about some of the choices he made. one thing he noted was that killing Jonathan was a very bold move as the idea of the hero dying, but the story moving forward was unheard of. and its because he chose to make this a generational series that Jojo is still able to exist as a manga and anime now. he did create a perfect formula for maintaining his story without it becoming redundant, whether he realized it or not
and even if fans will still argue that PB is so removed from the rest of the series or that its the weakest chain I disagree. PB laid the groundwork for some of the most significant elements of the series and gave us some of the most important characters that exist within it. there’s a reason they tried to make it into a standalone movie. granted the movie was so bad Araki scrubbed it out public access sparing the occasional screen cap and some dialogue free footage of Dio and Jonathan meeting, its still proof that in its homeland PB is regarded as something worthy of retelling
mind you PB isn’t perfect, I feel that every part of Jojo has something that needed to be worked on, but revisiting it has really helped me to appreciate it more than I already did. its too bad the anime cut some noteworthy things, but I really think fans still gain a lot from it and to deprive yourself of this experience just because you only care about Stands or you bought the unjustified hype that PB and BT are bad just feels like shooting yourself in the foot
as far as this dub is concerned, despite the accents slipping occasionally and some questionable line changes and translation choices I think they’ve done very well. I enjoyed myself completely.
back to the episode though (yeah I still got a few minutes of it left, God will I ever stop ranting?)
“his life was an important part of history, but invisible to ordinary people” WOW that is one meta ass line
“and the book of the stone mask was closed. for a time. but that was only the beginning of a new bizarre adventure” DUN NUN NUN
meanwhile, in the Aztec ruins, there is a new diva on the block
tune in next time where we go to New York to meet my absolute favorite character in the entire series
