My Kenjaku Theories !MANGA SPOILERS!
Today I’ll be taking about my Kenjaku theories, observations, and questions I have in honor of their death. I will be using they/them pronouns for Kenjaku to make it easier. (Apologies if it’s a bit too long) Please visit Jallomoth’s youtube channel!!!! I pulled and elaborated on some of their theories!
Golden Age
Tumblr media
This isn’t really a theory but an observation made. One of Kenjaku’s plans is to create another golden age of sorcery. They have many connections but the number of years they have been alive and lurking is alarming. Did they use their friendship with Tengen to see the growth in the modern times and to jujutsu society? Afterall, Tengen introduced many things and made jujutsu sorcery and Japan the way it is in the manga today. Maybe after Sukuna’s sealing Kenjaku finally decided to make a plan to bring back another golden age as powerful as the one Sukuna brought. But why?
“Mad Scientist”
Tumblr media
2. Speaking of Kenjaku’s goal, they would love to see the outcome of wiping humanity out and starting off fresh. They said it themselves that “I know I’d laugh.” This shows some mad scientist tendencies and how they enjoy experimenting and plotting. Yuji, Choso and their brothers are the outcome of their experiments. But what caused them to love experimenting so much? Were they like Yorozu who wanted to boost their abilities or boost their IQ? Or did they want to find ways to store more cursed techniques? After all transplanting a brain into someone elses takes a lot of thinking and time. Especially when you are taking control of your first body. Were they originally a scientist or experimenter in their original body or human life? The possibilities are endless.
Geto Suguru
Tumblr media
3. This one I pulled and elaborated from Jallomoth. Geto Suguru in the panel shown is talking about how Rika will be his “next time”. But did he know Gojo was going to kill him? My guess is probably since he knows Gojo very well and he knows he respects and will protect his students. So why did Geto say this? Could it be a binding vow for Kenjaku? I like to think there is no such thing as luck within the jujutsu world and only fate. Fate brought the six eyes, plasma vessel, and Tengen together. Could fate bring Kenjaku and Geto together? Even though most binding vows broke when they obtained Geto Suguru’s body that doesn’t mean the most recent binding vow will. Maybe this is the price for obtaining Geto Suguru’s body. His body is too perfect for Kenjaku and has to have some cons to it. Kenjaku is known for plotting ahead and lurking… so what if they watched and maybe interacted with Geto Suguru from time to time? Kenjaku is dead now and this might be a long stretch but it still sort of makes sense.
The Brain
Tumblr media
4. Cursed energy comes from the gut but reversed energy (or RCT) comes from the brain meaning cursed techniques are literally edged into the brain at birth. As seen in the gojo vs sukuna fight, they wear their cursed techniques out, so both do an extremely risky thing and crushed their brains. Then they immediately heal them so they can just restart the cool down on their cursed techniques. Could this be how Kenjaku switches techniques? Their technique only consists of stealing people’s bodies so maybe that’s how they tap into other techniques. I mean they have a very good idea of the anatomy of a brain and they can simply crush it and replace it with the new CT. They are a talented sorcerer and quickly regenerated back a few seconds after Yuki punched them. This could explain how two people can’t use two techniques simultaneously. Yuta however will be explained in the next paragraph.
Yuta and Rika
Tumblr media
5. Geto Suguru only wants Rika and Kenjaku sees nothing in Yuta. Why is that? Gege states that Yuta’s technique is copying others AND Rika. But what if Rika is the one that contains his cursed techniques and is basically his weapon storehouse? Maybe that’s why Kenjaku and Geto see no use in him and only for Rika. Rika is his ultimate upgrade and basically powers-up Yuta.
And that’s all! Thanks for reading my whole ass essay and let me know if you want a part 2 since I have even more brewing in my head. Have some treats as your reward!

Yuta Okkotsu is living the fucking dream just so everyone knows. He has a giant fuckoff monster-slash-pseudofiancée who loves him and protects him and holds all his stuff and kisses him and then he ALSO has romantic tension with the baddest bitch in Japan, destroyer of bloodlines, wielder of fuckoff weaponry (who has her cousin hold all HER stuff). Absolute legend behaviour

Yes, Sukuna Used World Dismantle
It is ludicrous to say Sukuna used anything other than World Dismantle against Yuta and Maki. Gege uses Sukuna's chants and aim to notify readers that he has used the world cutting slash. Whenever Gojo used chants to amplify his techniques, Gege used the narrator to explicitly state that. Gege has never had the narrator note Sukuna's use of a chant to amplify dismantles, and instead has only used the narrative voice to specify when Sukuna's used the world slash, or state his intention to do so.
Tumblr media
Sukuna only refers to World Dismantle from being prohibited. Not any type of "amped dismantle."
Tumblr media
Again, the narrator reiterates Sukuna's need to use World Dismantle, NOT any type of chant amped slash. Nowhere within the narrative does the narrator, Sukuna, nor any other character mention Sukuna amping the power of a regular dismantle with chants.
On the other hand, each time Gojo used chants to amplify his techniques, the narrator mentioned it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first time Gege depicted a technique being amplified by a chant, the narrator informs the reader that they can ba used to strengthen them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here, the narrator notes that Gojo's chant changed the scale of the spark released by Gojo's red. In other words, Gege remarked that the chant empowered red.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Again, the narrator reiterates that Gojo's chant restored blue's cursed energy output, further emphasizing the usage of the chant to amplify the technique.
Gege makes a concerted effort to inform the reader when a chant has been used to amplify an ability. When comparing the narrator's information about Gojo's chants and Sukuna's use of World Dismantle, one can see obvious similarities: Gege uses the narrative voice to inform readers of the specifics and facts regarding cursed techniques. While the idea of the narrator being a factual source may seem obvious, for some reason, readers on the sub have turned against the narrator. Instead, some in the subs ignore Gege's explicit language and argue that Sukuna did not fire off WD against Yuta and Maki. I instead argue that if it were a simple amped dismantle, Gege would say so, just as he did all three times Gojo did exactly that.
Mechanics for World Dismantle
Tumblr media
The binding vow that Sukuna created added the aim function to World Dismantle’s prerequisites. Gege adds these details here to signify to the reader that any time we’ve seen Sukuna chant and aim a dismantle, he was using the world slash. After Sukuna showed all three requirements during his fight with Kashimo, Gege likely took the liberty to skip repeated demonstrations.
I refute the idea that there’s a “chant amped dismantle” because Sukuna has never used that kind of technique before, and Gege depicts the World Dismantle the same way every time it’s used. Each time Sukuna chants, Gege makes a big deal of showing its destructive power to exaggerate World Dismantle's strength.
The First Two
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To be fair, Gege hardly shows Sukuna performing the hand sign here. Sukuna's hands aren't emphasized, but instead the chants and aiming have been.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Again, Gege emphasizes both the chant and the following destructive power of the WD. I argue that Gege emphasizes the chant to inform the reader that whenever Sukuna speaks it, he's using the same technique.
Against Yuta
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yuta obviously takes out both of Sukuna's mouths in these two pages. He follows up by taking out two of Sukuna's hands as well.
Tumblr media
While Yuji was meeting with Megumi, Sukuna healed off screen and made the hand signs to fire WD. Gege has to have had Sukuna perform actions off screen because Sukuna healed his top mouth so that he could say the chant for WD.
Tumblr media
Here, Gege again uses visual indicators to emphasize WD's power against Yuta and the difference in Sukuna's slashes. Against Yuta, you can see that the slash completely went through him because there's blood on the other side of his back. Yuji was not also hit with WD because his splashes of blood do not go all the way through him, and he's cut at a different angle. If it were the same slash used against Yuta, Yuji would be cut in the same line and not one parallel to Yuta.
The likely chain of events that explains why they were all cut up when the pages leave Yuji's pov:
While Yuji was inside Megumi's soul, Sukuna broke free from Rika's grasp using slashes, then performed the hand sign. When the perspective switched back, Sukuna had already chanted, and Gege now show's him aiming at Yuta, then firing off dismantles against Rika and Yuji. The final panel doesn't depict Sukuna breaking free from Rika's grasp; he's instead doing a victory pose. Which sounds wild, but Gege shows Sukuna's right hand turned up, no longer aiming at Yuta by the end of the swift sequence of events.
Against Maki
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Looking closely at the first page, behind the debris' onomatopoeia, there the first two lines for Sukuna's World Dismantle can be seen. Again, Gege emphasizes the destructive strength of the attack, signaling it's the real thing. Sukuna also seems to be aiming. Just like with Kashimo and Higuruma, Gege focused less on depicting the hand signs and more of the chant and destruction to signify that Sukuna's used world dismantle.
The Real Amped Dismantle?
Three times throughout the entire fight, Sukuna has brought his left hand up to his right arm while he aims with his right hand.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sukuna grabs the right arm with his left hand. Then, he aims his dismantle at the building behind Gojo.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sukuna makes an effort to distance himself between Yuta, Rika, and Yuji so that he has room to perform the same exact motion against the three of them. Later, Sukuna remarks that their rct helped them survive his stronger dismantles, and that he needs to land a cleave to do serious damage.
Tumblr media
After trying his amped dismantle, and seeing how both Yuta and Yuji survived it, he began reevaluating how much power he'd need to expend to kill them.
Tumblr media
Sukuna makes the same pose here. Even without a left hand, he makes the effort bring his left arm in and aim. There's an obvious significance to this pose, and I argue it amplifies his dismantles.
Gege uses explicit language each time Gojo's chants amplified his techniques, yet has never done that for Sukuna. Instead, Gege uses the narrator to say that Sukuna's using the WD in reference to three of four uses of his chants. Gege never has a character, nor the narrator, say that Sukuna's chants simply empower his dismantle. I find it clear and obvious that Gege means to communicate that Sukuna's "scale of the dragon, recoil, twin meteors" and aiming means world dismantle has been fired.
Notes:
The victory pose also coincides with the narrator's statement that Sukuna was too proud in that moment, which left him wide open against Maki.
Tumblr media
As Soft_Employment1425 said in another post: There’s conjecture but the broader points were stated in the manga. Regarding intentions, I respect Gege’s writing enough to take his ideas to their logical conclusion.
