“More than twenty years after No Man's Land, Jeremiah Valeska, the Joker, permanently cripples Barbara Gordon while trying to break her father's spirit. A month later, out of the blue, The Penguin wipes him off the face of the city for it. They've gotten tired, Gotham's villains. Soft. Unused to fighting for their lives, unused to killing anymore. But one thing Oswald has never, ever forgiven, and that is hurting family. Even, this time, if it's Jim's, not his.”
I have never written in this fandom before, but I have been rewatching bits of Gotham, and I felt in the mood. The Character Death, by the way, is Jeremiah's. And, this being Gotham, it might not be permanent, but that's never kept Oswald from killing anybody before. The unrequited love is Oswald/Jim, though it's not exactly unrequited, and more ... ideologically impossible. I'm in an odd mood.
