My Grimoire Research Library
this is a list of my major resource I've referenced/am currently referencing in my big grimoire project. For books I'll be linking the Goodreads page, for pdfs, websites and videos i'll link them directly.
There are plenty of generalised practitioner resources that can work for everyone but as I have Irish ancestry and worship Hellenic deities quite a few of my resources are centred around Celtic Ireland, ancient Greece and the Olympic mythos. If you follow other sects of paganism you are more than welcome to reblog with your own list of resources.
Parts of my grimoire discuss topics of new age spiritualism, dangerous conspiracy theories, and bigotry in witchcraft so some resources in this list focus on that.

The Lucy Maud scholars are presenting a brand new book/collection of essays this year. (But not until May!) And it’s alllll to do with the Emily series this time! And sure, it’s devastatingly overdue, but looking over the tantalising bulleted contents really makes it seem like some forgiveness/leniency is probably warranted!
Despite being overshadowed by the immense popularity of Anne of Green Gables, the Emily of New Moon trilogy has become a subject of endless fascination to fans and scholars around the world. The trilogy was conceived during an important phase in Montgomery’s career during which she turned from Anne and plunged into more intricate aspects of gender, adolescence, nature, and authorship. While the novels have attracted rich critical attention since their publication, book-length studies proved surprisingly scarce. L.M. Montgomery’s Emily of New Moon: A Children’s Classic at 100 is the first scholarly volume exclusively dedicated to the trilogy, coalescing different research perspectives. It offers a fresh point of entrance into a well-loved classic at its one-hundredth anniversary

Storms: My life with Lindsey Buckingham and Fleetwood Mac
by Carol Ann Harris
Review, kind of
As I‘ve said before, I haven‘t fully read the aforementioned book by Lindsey‘s ex-gf CAH, I‘ve just read excerpts of it mainly because I wanted to know what she hast to say about Christine (Yes, I need to know EVERYTHING about her, pretty pathetic but the truth!!)
Anyways, I have pretty soon come to the conclusion that her renderings of the (hi)story(s) of FMac are somewhat incomplete if not outright incorrect.
Again, I‘ve only read the parts where she mentions Christine, but when she stated (very confidently), that [Chris] had written Songbird for Curry Grant only and not as [Chris] later claims for the whole band, I thought it was a bit rich. Would we believe an ex-gf who has been with the band for 8 years or the actual members plus the person who had written the song.
Plus (for credibility purposes) Chris had admitted to writing You Make Loving Fun for Curry, so there really is no reason for her to lie about Songbird. (Also have you ever really listened to the lyrics Carol Ann?!!?)
Furthermore it was really confusing how she constantly kept saying ’us‘ when referring to the band Fleetwood Mac. (She wasn’t in the band, hasn’t anyone told her?)
Moreover, to my knowledge nobody was really that close to her? Mick doesn’t really mention her in his book [Then Play On] and she is barely on any pictures, not even closely as much as Stevies girlfriends Robin, Christy, Sharon etc etc. (Just an observation I made!!)
Finally, I decided to just go to the reviews on goodreads and sites like that (what a brainstorm!) and many of them came to similar conclusions. Most stories are exaggerated and blown out of proportions. I‘m not saying she‘s making stuff up but it feels like she puts too much focus on minorities just to be able to fill (& sell) a book.
In the end I would conclude that it‘s not really worth the read because as soon as you can’t really trust the author (for me anyways) the charm of a book (especially when it is supposed to be biographical!!) is just gone. I can’t believe anything I‘m reading, might have happened like that might as well not — I lose interest!
The ONLY thing I really liked of what I have read of the book was when CAH compared Christine to Katharine Hepburn (as I think being compared to Katharine Hepburn is the greatest of compliments), but really that‘s all. (She immediately goes on with comparing her to Hilary Swank in Million Dollar Baby which is cool but REALLY?! It‘s like comparing Mick to a giant just because he was tall …)
Just saying, lemme know what you think!!!!

Thoughts:
The Invisible Kingdom is a memoir recounting a woman’s struggle with getting a diagnosis for her chronic illnesses, and I have never felt so seen or represented. It will easily be a top five read of the year, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.
Two reads this month were highly anticipated: Rivals and Tokyo Dreaming. I had low expectations for Rivals because book two of the series was such a letdown, but it was a return to the fun of American Royals. I’m still waiting for this series to be turned into a dishy drama. And Tokyo Dreaming was a disappointment. It lacked the spark of Tokyo Ever After.
Looking for a Ted Lasso-inspired read? Check out Everything for You. I have thoroughly enjoyed all of the books in this series, and this one was particularly charming.
Joining @oldshrewsburyian for Robin Hood Summer? Or just want a delightful and very loose retelling with “be gay, do crimes” vibes? Look no further than The Perfect Crimes of Marian Hayes. I could spend many more hours with this Rob and Marian (both bi disasters). Technically, this is book two in a series. I think you’d be ok diving right into this one if you can stand a little confusion; however, book one is also worthwhile. Here’s hoping this series continues for several more installments.
Goodreads Goal: 191/250 (moved this goal up from 200)

Sorry for the spam, I just thought you might like them. Katharine Lindsey has the cute little devilish cat and then the one with the skeleton and the girl reminds me of you and your lady ghost, and then Edward Gorey is the other one he’s a passed on author/illustrator etc and I had those books as a kid they’re just macabre and fun in my opinion like Gashlycrumb Tinies is one of those “A is for Apple B is for Boat etc” books except well kids and their untimely demises, which child me loved to read about, and then the terrors of Christmas, pretty self explanatory.
Oh, thank you for sharing. I really didn't know who you were talking about and for some reason I thought you meant musicians. They have a very interesting art style, it's cool.
I also agree about the skeleton one and that is pretty great. I'm surprised you read such a dark book when you were younger though.

Have you heard of the artist Katharine Lindsey? Her stuff kind of reminds me of Edward Gorey but it’s got such a life of its own to it.
No idea who those people are but I'm glad you enjoy it.
