Team Supplemental - The Legion of Monsters  

The Legion of Monsters were originally a team composed of The Man-Thing, Ghost Rider, Werewolf by Night and Morbius The Living Vampire.  The quartet united by chance when they each investigated the appearance of a strange being called the Starseed. Though Starseed was a benevolent entity, both the Werewolf by Night and Morbius, overcome by their monstrous hungers, attacked it. Ghost Rider and Man-Thing attempted to intervene, but Starseed was unable to overcome his fear of Man-Thing and suffered severe burns at its touch. The dying Starseed attempted to cure the Legion of their monstrous forms but was too weak and perished.

Tired of fighting and disappointed in their actions the team split up. Though they hardly ever acknowledged themselves as a team in the first place, the Legion of Monsters (minus Ghost Rider) reunited. This incarnation included Morbius, Werewolf by Night, Man-Thing, and new members The Living Mummy and Manphibian.

They vowed to protect monsters that were hunted down to be killed. One of their missions included saving remaining creatures from a special force dedicated to destroying all monsters.  The refugee monsters found sanctuary in an abandoned section of The Morlock Tunnels underneath Manhattan.  There they established The Monster Metropolis where these creatures could all live in peace. Some time thereafter, The Legion saved the Punisher after he was killed by Daken and brought him back to life as FrankenCastle.

After the Legion helped Castle retain his human form, the location of Monster Metropolis was sought out by the famed monster hunter, Elsa Bloodstone.  And yet, instead of hunting these monsters, Elsa aided the Legion in a battle against The Red Hulk.  

The Legion later relocated to the West Coast.  Morbius and Manphibian left the team, replaced by Frankenstein’s Monster and Satanna.  Herein they aided Daredevil in an adventure facing off against the vile Sons of The Serpent.  

The Legion of Monsters first appeared in the pages of Marvel Premiere #28 (1975).

Other ideas for MCU Halloween specials (crossing my fingers that the “Werewolf-by-Night” special will be an annual thing):

1) 1980s slasher special featuring Frank Castle/The Punisher as the serial killer. (as an alternative, the same idea but it’s Moon Knight. The helpless victims are the criminals he was sent after)

2) Aliens/Predator-style horror special featuring the Nova Corps stumbling upon a Brood colony (y’all remember the Brood aka Marvel’s version of the Xenomorphs).

3) Jacob’s Ladder-style psychological horror special centered on Mysterio’s illusion tech. Imagine a special where the characters aren’t aware that they’re trapped in one of Mysterio’s illusions. (as an alternative, the same idea but it’s Wanda Maximoff trapping people in their nightmares)

4) This is kinda random but a special where Ned Leeds and his family go on a cruise and stumble across a ghost ship. Why Ned? Just because.

5) Saw/Escape Room/Squid Game-style horror special centered on the villain Arcade (the guy behind Avengers Arena).

6) Military survival horror special centered on a team of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents stumbling across a hidden, underground chamber that’s teeming with Deviants (Eternals tie-in).

7) A cosmic horror special centered on America Chavez jumping to an apocalyptic alternate universe.
