THE BROTHEL
Timeline: 16th September 2023, Saturday, night time... Location: Madam's Boarding House, Sanguine, Louisiana. Mood: Depressed... He feels like he's dying. He misses Otto. And Shadow.... Attire: See above…
It's been many moons since Max last saw Otto... And Shadow. Max came back to Sanguine not so long ago and with him is the human man, Ace, whom Max knows well although Ace is not aware of this, of course.
They ended up staying at a house that seemed to be popular to beings like himself. It was a risky place to stay in but it was also a smart idea on Ace's part to hide in plain sight. Still, he followed Ace's advice not to come out all the time. So Max spent most of his time in the room they rented. However, there were days, nights, that he ventured out to the brothel part of the property...
There, Max usually sat in silence, watching, observing, getting to know the children that Madame took in... He also got to know their visitors.
Recently, a powerful naga prince came by and stayed for a while. They only saw the one called Bodhi, a puppy like being whom Max admired from a far. If he wasn't being cautious, he'd be friends with Bodhi. But he didn't think he deserved friendship. Not now, not ever when he abandoned the one true friend he ever had. He cried whenever he thought of Otto...
The naga prince wasn't aloof but they weren't friendly either. They sat around the longue like Max did and watched everyone that came in and came out. After a few weeks, the naga left and it was quiet again.
There's a vampire regular who just mostly sat at the bar and barely got drunk even after drinking bottles of whiskey... This clientele always looked sad and for whatever reason, just stared at Bodhi from a distance. Max realized it was creepy but sorta amusing at the same time.
There was a demon hunter that stops by too but Max hasn't seen him lately. The demon hunter always looked a bit grumpy. He obviously needed to get laid but he never did? But Max had seen the demon hunter take the one called Veil a couple of times into a private room but he heard nothing really happened. Supernatural beings like him, Max thought, are surely really weird, even weirder than humans...
Most of Madame's workers Max really liked at least from a distance. But many of the clients that came and visit made Max's skin crawl. There was a dark entity that often stopped by whenever the demon hunter was around. Max could tell they weren't a good person despite their quite and sad demeanor. That one hung around one time all day and all night. They didn't seem to sleep...
Sitting around the brothel, Max had been mistaken by clients to one of Madame's workers. At one point, one of the staff warned him to be careful. Max mostly listened but with nothing to do and no one to talk to, he continued on with this hobby of playing voyeur... In result, Max was asked a few times by creepy clients; they said they want to pay for his time. Some were respectful and listened to a simple "no." But some were pushy and forceful which scared Max and made Max hide for a few days in his room. There, he fell into a deeper depression and all he did was think of Otto. And Shadow. And he wondered how they're doing.
There's Ace... But he felt Ace - doesn't like him much. Or maybe the human's mad at him? In Max's head, there's no reason needed to dislike or hate him. He is black with sins to the core. He deserved to be punished. But as days go by, Max actually felt that he is dying. And it scared him that it pushed him to go out of their room to find Ace who had busied himself with other things than sitting next to a useless fae.
Max ended up in the brothel once again in hopes of finding Ace. There, he met a new visitor. A lively character that seemed to carry something more than a smile on their face. Their eyes glimmered with playfulness. Their piercing stare met Max's insecure eyes more than once and the new visitor offered a smile - a mischievous one before they were taken away by Bodhi.
Max felt energized although he thought it weird the way the being interacted with him... Were they some kind of fae? A god perhaps? After that brief encounter, Max was determined to find Ace and when he finally did, he approached the human and said, "Can I - can I go with you wherever you're going tonight? I... Just don't want to be alone..."

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Four Of Wands: You may be getting some goods news, y'all !! The Four Of Wands is generally a very happy card. Whatever this is, this is gonna be different for all of you, whether it's a reunion with an old friend, a lover or a family member you've been wanting to reconnect with, a success, going to a cool party or a cool place, maybe even for some of y'all I'm& getting that y'all could even be getting engaged or married & whatever this is, that's awesome !! I& feel like a lot of y'all feel like you won't deserve this, but I'm& telling you, you absolutely do. You don't need to "earn" happiness no matter what anybody tells you, that's your birthright. I& need you to cherish that moment, fuck the past, fuck the future, this is YOUR moment. This is pure happiness. You deserve this. Rejoice. India could be significant to you, Indian culture could be significant to you, you yourself could be Indian or have Indian ancestry, the deity Mohini (the only female avatar of the deity Vishnu) and Aravan (he appears in the Hindu epic Mahabharata, the son of Pandava prince Arjuna one of the main heroes of Mahabharata & the Naga princess Ulupi, he is the central deity of the religion of Kuttantavar & plays a major role in the sect of Draupadi, he's worshipped in the form of his severed head as an offering to the goddess Kali to ensure the success of the Pandavas & is believed to cure diseases & induce pregnancy in childless women, & is worshipped as a village deity, a patron god of well known trans and/or intersex and/or eunuch communities in India called Alis, Aravani in Tamil & Hijra throughout South Asia such as India, Pakistan, Bangladesh & Nepal although the Hijra community in India prefer to call themselves Kinnar or Kinner while in Pakistan, they are called Khawaja Sira, that originated in ancient Hinduism & evolved during the Delhi Sultanate from 1226-1526 to the Mughal Empire from 1526-1707 where they were servants for elite households, manual laborers, military commanders, political advisors, & guardians of the harem, most of whom are AMAB though occasionally intersex & have a feminine gender expression; on the night before the battle, Aravan expressed a desire to get married before he died, no woman was willing to marry a man doomed to die in a few hours, so Mohini married him, hijras claim Aravan as their progenitor and call themselves aravanis) could be significant (I&... IF THIS APPLIES TO A LOVE SITUATION ARE Y'ALL T4T), you yourself could be a Hijra, you could be Hindu or follow deities from Hinduism. The number 4 could be significant, but then again, this IS the 4th month of the year. The Suit of Wands represents the Fire element so Aries, Sagittarius & Leo could be important. Whatever it is, have fun !
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Moon: This is extremely ironic considering this question represents the moon & your subconscious. I& feel like you may have a lot of hidden feelings about this situation or a person. I& think you spent so long thinking everything isn't going to work out that when finally something or someone that does come around that makes you happy, you're afraid. I& feel like for a lot of y'all, y'all are some real melancholic anguished people. Maybe it's because of a past wound, a mistake, insecurity or for some of you maybe even a trauma that tells you don't deserve happiness especially regarding this situation or you feel like it's gonna be torn & ripped away from you & that's honestly really sad. You deserve to feel good about yourself & your life. I& ironically enough get a lot of traumatized people who come to my& readings & I'm& a DID system so that shouldn't be too surprising, I& guess. The number 18 could be significant, whether it's a day, a lifepath or a birthday. Japan could be significant, Japanese culture could be significant, you yourself could be Japanese or have Japanese heritage yourself, the Princess Kaguya from either traditional Japanese folklore and/or Naruto could be significant, tanukis could be significant, too. The Moon is ruled by Cancer so you could be a Cancerian or have those placements.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
King Of Cups: You need to address your compassion for yourselves my& loves. See, how this story goes with the Boy & The Dragon Pearl is that this fierce, powerful dragon was once a little boy. I& think you have to delve into your past wounds & ask yourself why you feel this way & why you feel the ways that you do. Dragons are highly sacred creatures in Chinese mythology & they are powerful & wise, but instead of controlling & breathing fire like their Western counterparts, these dragons manipulate water. Your consciousness wants you to address your life & what brought you here & have patience & compassion for yourself above all else. You already have the potential to become this glorious dragon. You deserve devotion, loyalty, & faithfulness & generosity towards yourself & if you have a partner or for the ones who could be getting engaged or married, let them in. If they love you, they'll be there. You don't have to do this alone anymore. Let this person (or people) help you. China could be significant, Chinese culture could be significant, you yourself could be Chinese and/or have Chinese ancestry, dragons may be significant to you, you or someone significant to you could've been born on the Year of The Dragon (1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012, for some people I'm getting you or someone you know could even be pregnant & your baby or the baby of someone you know will be born in 2024) you yourself could be dragonkin if you resonate with the otherkin or alterhuman label, if you're a system you could have dragon system members, and the Suit of Cups controls the Water element so Cancer, Scorpio & Pisces may be significant, which is ironic because I'm& both a Cancerian & a Dragon so I& needed that too, ehehe.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Tower: This just confirmed my& suspicions, yeah. The Tower represents a massive change, an upheaval, a catastrophe, a revelation or sometimes even trauma. I& feel like for a lot of you, you need to let whatever this traumatic incident go in order to advance in your life. Believe me&, I& know how hard that is, I'm& not saying this is gonna happen overnight, & this isn't me& saying "shut up & get over it", this is me& saying "if you're going to see everyone the way you did this situation, it's not going to end well & you may end up pushing people who are genuinely trying to help you away" but you're going to need to at least try & work on whatever this incident was. Whatever it was, this was unfair to you & it didn't deserve to happen to you. It's okay to leave this behind so you can move forward in your life. But you don't have to face this alone, okay? There are people who are willing to help you. If you need it & have the means, contact a therapist and/or a medical professional. The number 16 could be significant, the Tower is ruled by Aries so that could be significant which is ironic because this is Aries season, Germany may be significant to you, German culture could be significant, you yourself could be German or have German ancestry, the Princess Rapunzel could be significant as well (for some of you, maybe you even have long hair, whether it's natural or wigs ehehe!), I'm& getting for some of y'all, the movie Tangled could be significant & it may have some subliminal messages for you.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Sun: With the tower crumbling down, the sun will always rise again & again. You can begin a new life for yourself. As Ethel Cain once said, "if it's meant to be, it will be". I& know it's hard but you can do it. Your path can have illumination, satisfaction, optimism & enthusiasm. You can feel joy again. Everything is going to be okay. The number 19 could be significant to you, Egypt could be significant to you, Egyptian culture may be significant, you yourself could be Egyptian, the Egyptian sun deity Ra could be significant or you may even work with him as a devotee or he may be reaching out to you & want to work with you, you yourself could be a Kemetic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Hierophant: The Sun, Moon, Past & Future want you to know that you have to balance yourself in order to walk this new path & grow from your experiences. The Hierophant represents tradition, compassion & legacy; there is a place for everyone & everyone has a place in the world. I& can confirm this. As an indigenous person, I've& been taught by my& elders that everyone & everything has a place in the world. Connect to your community & likeminded people, connect (or reconnect if applicable) to your culture(s) & if you have a faith with a spiritual leader that you trust, seek their advice. Help people out & especially those in need if you have the means to do so. Let your loved ones know you love them & how much they mean to you. The number 5 could be significant, you yourself could be indigenous to Turtle Island / North America or have indigenous ancestry (hi bestie!!!!), some of you may be Lakota yourselves, & the White Buffalo Woman could be significant to you. If you're Native, do me& a favor & smudge the shit out of your space besties. For the rest of you, protect Native women & hold Native girls, women & Two Spirits in your hearts.

This is the first time I’ve seen you write anything Tamlin and I’ve been following you for a long time. (Maybe I missed something). Anyway, what is your general opinion of him? Do you think his character deserves the hatred that it gets, even though Rhys and every other IC member is much worse?
It wasn’t to raise Tamlin up but merely to show that Cassian isn’t the world’s best dude either.
Lots of Tamlin’s issues stemmed from fear whereas Cassian is just so far up Rhys ass, he hasn’t seen daylight in 500 years.
Tamlin isn’t that bad to me. I don’t think the level of hatred is deserved but he’s not a saint. For me, rhys is much, much worse because everything he did was so calculated and he is not ruled by his emotions whereas Tamlin is.
Tamlin endured years of abuse from his father and brothers. He joined a war band to escape them. Then he endured amarantha hounding him. I did make a post before that if the genders were switched there’d be a lot more outrage over a male chasing after a woman for decades and basically demanding she sleep with him or everybody will suffer. He lost nearly all of his friends then felt guilty as hell to take Feyre because of how his family treated mortals. Then he watched everything happen to her UTM. The root of his behaviour, whilst still wrong, was fear. The fear manifested itself as paranoia.
Many times, Tamlin or Lucien warned Feyre off leaving the house due to danger e.g because of the naga or Calanmai and Feyre just straight up didn’t listen and got into danger every time. She was warned if she went UTM, she would be in danger. Tamlin locked her in the house because she would not listen to his warnings once again about danger and from his pov it was the only way to save her. Call it wrong, but it’s the same damn thing the ic did to Nesta only theirs was less about safety and more about control.
I firmly believe Rhys played into that paranoia too by not taking Feyre for like 3 months despite their deal which would have made Tamlin more on edge. Each time Feyre left the house meant she was exposed for Rhys to take her. Rhys knows him well, knows how to press his buttons.
Due to the POV, we only see Feyre’s side. We know that he has taken to sleeping at the bottom of the bed as a beast and is not sleeping properly. He is struggling too. Feyre has these arguments in her head about things but doesn’t speak to Tamlin about them then resents him later for not doing the things he had no clue she wanted.
From Tamlin’s pov too, he thinks she wanted the wedding. He’s watched Rhys abuse her for months then he gets a letter saying she’s not coming back from the night court even though she can’t read or write. Rhys killed his family. There’s a lot of bad blood between them so of course Tamlin is not going to believe the letter and try to save Feyre.
Fanon forgets all the stuff that happened before UTM. Feyre fell in love with him for a reason. He taught her new words by writing her poetry, they went to the pool of starlight, had a picnic together, he bought her paints, plays the fiddle while she dances. There were these little romantic gestures from a guy who wasn’t good at being with people that were far more genuine than “I’ve got loads of money so here’s a mansion Feyre darling”. Further, Tamlin got on his damn knees to beg Rhys not to hurt Feyre or tell amarantha and he still gave her “Clare’s” name because he’s a slimy bastard.
I don’t really need a Tamlin redemption arc (nor do I think he actually needs redemption rather than actual help) but it would be nice to get a couple of lines that he’s improved and is taking care of his court. At the end of the day, the spring court needs a leader and needs to rebuild.
I did write a lot of Tamlin in AU ACOSF because I felt like he’d been shafted so badly by retcons and I couldn’t stand Rhys still going there to gloat in canon.

Snakes and humans and a wolf dog puppy! What a combo. What will they do?
Have a fun time, that’s what!
But yeah, Clover is gonna be a new regular in the giant naga chapters. Must give pupper all the love! She deserves it, I tells ya!
Hajime found himself once again needing to get used to a new constant in his life that he hadn’t initially prepared for. That being Clover, the newest edition to the household and forest. But he was happily surprised when it didn’t take much effort, as the tan wolf dog puppy was very well behaved for him.
She took to life in a house very quickly. She didn’t break or chew anything she wasn’t supposed to. She only barked when excited and was respectful of the rules. All around, she was practically the perfect dog.
She also loved running around the woods with Nagito. The naga had reported similar good behavior whenever she went with him. Clover always stayed close, never straying too far from her snake parent. She would smell the various plants and landmarks, but never attempted to eat anything. So both Hajime and Nagito felt no worries with her running ahead of them on their forest adventures.
So she of course went along with them as they all went to the expansive flower field to meet up with Sonia and Gundham. They had also dragged Izuru along, so the whole gang was there.
The main focus was, of course, Clover. Sonia and Gundham had cooed over her as soon as they saw her. But, to the more eccentric human’s dismay, she didn’t stay for very long at their side. Clover instead chose to stay near Hajime and Nagito, displaying who her preferred people were. Gundham had sulked briefly, Sonia claiming that this was the first time he hadn’t been an animal’s automatic favorite. Hajime and Nagito reigned in their snickers, not wanting to offend their friend.
And so time passed in the field. It was primarily spent playing and petting the puppy, who was overjoyed with all the attention. But eventually, she tired out. She crawled under one of Nagito’s large hands, flopping onto her side and panting herself to sleep.
Hajime stretched under to gently ruffle the fur on her head. She let out a doggy sigh, relaxing under the shade the naga was making. After confirming she was doing fine, he returned out into the open. Stretching his arms above his head, he glanced around to see what Izuru was doing. And to his surprise, he saw his brother carefully weaving the stems of some flowers into a crown.
“I didn’t know you knew how to do that,” Hajime found himself saying, attracting his twin’s attention.
Izuru scoffed. “Of course I know how to make them.”
Nagito leaned down, reptilian eyes gazing over the humans’ shoulders. “Wow. How pretty! Is it a crown made of flowers?”
Both of the twins looked up. “Yes, it is. Perhaps if you request it of him, maybe Hajime can learn to make one for you.”
Hajime rolled his eyes at his brother for planting that idea into the naga’s mind, as the green eyes stared pleadingly down at him. “You will, won’t you?” the larger creature asked while gently nudging the smaller body with his other hand.
Having fallen completely into the trap, Hajime felt slightly resigned as he agreed. “Okay. Izuru, teach me how to make them.”
“I would like to acquire this knowledge as well, powerful one,” Gundham chimed in, walking close and sitting down close to the other humans. Sonia followed behind, laying down next to Nagito to watch the process.
Seeing he had an attentive audience, the raven haired man nodded. “Very well. Let us begin.”
And so the lesson started. Flowers were plucked and carefully woven together to make a circular band. Hajime and Gundham picked up the technique right away, which was not terribly surprising considering who their teacher was. The nagas constantly praised their work, entranced as the crowns were slowly made.
Soon, all three humans had completed natural circlets in their hands. Hajime and Gundham held them up to admire, amazed that they were able to create them.
“Those are so cute! You did so good,” Nagito complimented, gently touching it with a claw.
That’s when Hajime got an idea. Well, two ideas. But he was able to do one of them right then and there. He grabbed hold of Nagito’s finger and slid the crown on. “Here, you can have it. It looks nicer on you.”
The pale cheeks darkened with a blush. “Are… are you sure? You worked so hard on it! And you’re giving it to me?”
“Of course. I can always make another now that I know how.” The brunette then looked over to his brother with a curious expression. “Although, it is a shame that it’s not big enough to fit your head. I wonder…”
His twin caught on very fast. “I suppose it’s possible. Allow me to assist.” He stretched his arm out to place his flower crown on the sleeping dog before returning to his original position. “We are fortunate in this field having plenty to work with.”
Nagito was far too distracted to take notice of their work, staring down at his new flower ring. And Sonia was very much in the same boat, admiring Gundham’s gift and sweet words to her. So Hajime and Izuru went undisturbed in their task. Which partially surprised Hajime, considering how long it took them.
But finish it, they did. The brunette let out a triumphant shout once the last flower was in place. “It’s done!!!”
Izuru sent a tiny, almost invisible smile his way. “Yes, it is.”
This small exchange of words attracted Nagito’s attention, who had been zoned out while petting Clover’s side. “Huh? What happened?” he asked, glancing back down to them. He let out a surprised gasp when he saw the completed project though. A flower crown, but this one significantly larger than the others. “Is that…?”
“Yes, it’s for you. Hopefully it’s big enough. Want to try it on?” Hajime confirmed, lifting part of the crown as a gesture.
“I would love to!” the naga exclaimed, happiness very evident in his voice.
It made Hajime’s cheeks redden a bit. “Lower your head a little more so Izuru and I can help put it on.”
Nagito did so instantly, cheeks also a bit pink. Together, the humans carefully dragged the floral construction over the snowy hair, doing their best to not break the fragile crown. But they were successful, and Nagito was soon adorned with the pretty blooms. Hajime patted the cheek once it was in place. “It’s on. You look wonderful.”
Nagito rose a little, tucking a stray lock behind his ear. “You… think so? I’m so happy!”
Hajime had to force his heart to not explode from the scene in front of him. It was almost too much for him to handle. It was way too cute. “N-no problem. I’m glad… you like it.”
“I don’t just like it. I love it!” Nagito then got a kiss attack from Clover, who had woken up from the noises. “Look, we match now!”
With Nagito distracted again, Hajime took this opportunity to take a picture of the two. He smiled as he examined it, making it his new Lock Screen photo.
“I take it you are pleased with the result, too?” Izuru asked, a smirk present now.
But the brunette was in too good of a mood to care. “I am. It was worth all the effort if it makes him that happy.”
“Is that right? Well, I’m glad you both approve.” He patted Hajime’s shoulder. “Good work, brother. And keep it up.”
Hajime pocketed his phone and returned to looking at the naga and wolf dog. “Yeah, I will for sure.”

Echoes of the Past - Day 14
Prompt:  “Just when you think you've hit rock bottom, you realize you're standing on another trapdoor.”
CW: Implied main character death, implications of torture
Many people might believe that Janus deserved this, after all, he wasn't the most pleasant person to be around. He was aware that his prickly exterior kept people away and his sarcasm had gotten him into trouble more than once before, but never like this. Janus kept to himself for this exact reason, he wasn't out looking for someone's anger an ire but apparently solitude hadn't been enough to protect him. He had heard plenty of stories of people getting kidnapped and taken away, but he had been foolish enough to believe they were all fairytales, taught by parents to protect their children. Typically, only the bad people were taken away, but Janus didn't think he was bad enough to deserve this. He didn't know what he could have done to justify the state he was in now. After a few months, all he knew was the darkness. He had been locked in it for months, enough that it was becoming a familiar friend. His captors had to have some type of dark vision, because they would come in without allowing in an ounce of light. He could hear them move about but he wasn't able to see anything. That was far more anxiety inducing than he thought it would be, especially since they liked to handle him with less than stellar care.
They would poke and prod at him, force him to eat, force him to do their experiments. He, of course, would still fight back, but typically it didn't go well for him. His body felt like it was beginning to break down from the care he had been experiencing recently and he wasn't sure how much longer he could keep doing this. He was pulled away from everything he knew and cared about, so he wasn't going to play a docile little lamb to their stupid games, however, he also didn't have anyone to rely on and things were beginning to fall down hill.
"Get up," a voice hissed at him, and Janus hissed back. He refused to accept this type of treatment, but also, he wasn't sure he could stand up if he tried. They hadn't really been feeding him well, and without the sun to help the bit of hope he was clinging to, his energy was quickly dropping. Most creatures thought that he was a naga of some sort, but the truth was that he was a nymph, and he needed his forests. He needed the sun, and he desperately needed water right now.
"I said get up." Janus was grabbed by his hair, dragged up, and if an indigent sound escaped from his lips, no it didn't. He wished he could swing at the person holding him, but his arms didn't even want to move properly. He bit back a sarcastic retort, a painful cough ripping it's way through his throat as he body shook.
"Weak." Janus was dropped back onto the rock hard ground. This was a low for him. He was under the thumb of someone who honestly didn't care if he lived or died, and he couldn't even speak his mind. "You are useless to us now." It made sense. If they wanted to keep him long term they would have treated his needs a bit better, even if they planned on torturing him. So what were they going to do? Leave him in this dark pit until he wasted away?
"Get back here," Janus fought to push himself up, ready to chase after the person who had thought calling him useless was a good idea. He wasn't going to die like this. If this was all that was left then he would die fighting. The creature had already walked away, and Janus could hear them climbing up the steps. He wasn't sure he had the energy for that, but he had to do something.
Then, the ground shifted under him, moving and sliding as if he were standing on shifting leaves. He distinctly heard the sound of water. It was faint, he was a decent distance above the water, but it was running water. Fuck. He didn't know if he could survive that fall, much less if he would be able to swim out somewhere. The water might help him, or it could tear away at the last of him. He scrambled to find purchase, scrambled not to fall, but the floor disappeared completely and he felt his stomach jump up to his throat. Freefalling through the darkness wasn't something he ever wanted to experience, and yet, her was was, doing just that. His life flashed before his eyes, the friends who hadn't found him, the trees and creatures he was supposed to protect. The last thought he had before hitting the water, 'I needed more time.'
The impact hurt. He felt the pain reverberate through all of his muscles and joints, but he was still alive. He wasn't gotten rid of that easily and having survived the fall, he could worry about trying to survive the water. Janus fought and squirmed, the complete nothingness of the darkness surrounded him. Just getting a few breaths of air was difficult, but he was a fighter, and the water felt amazing against his skin. His lips found the surface and he gasped for air, knowing each breath might actually be his last. He went under again, the wave tossing him in such a way that he was disoriented. He didn't know what was up and what was down, but he kept fighting, kept trying. His lungs burned with the strain and his stomach twisted from the sudden and unwelcome amount of water that filled him. He needed to keep fighting, he wanted to keep fighting, but he was loosing.
Just as his eyes began to slip closed, Janus saw a light, it was just a glimmer, but he was headed towards the exit. The light faded with his vision and he internally cursed.
He had almost gotten out. He had almost survived.

During a period of seismic instability, our heroine finds herself enamoured by the wise and beautiful hermit Kasen. Donning her armour of old, she (Hoshiro) joins her (Kasen) on a quest deep beneath the earth to find out who’s flooding Reimu’s garden. Can Hoshiro face the power of another sun, or will Kisume fall on her head?...
~Chapter 8: Yatagarasu Fusion~
 "Dear Ms Nijinazuma,
"These items were discovered in the loft by your esteemed father. As part of the Ryuugu-jou decluttering initiative, he asked that they be removed from the premises and delivered to you, in the hope that you might find a use for them.    "His Lordship wished to convey his third-fondest regards to you, his third-favourite daughter, and requests that you keep the armour where he has no chance of tripping over it.
 "Yours sincerely,
 "Iku Nagae
 "Servant to Lord Ryuujin"
Hoshiro's face lit up. She folded the letter, stuffed it in her pocket and tore open the box, gasping with delight when she saw what was inside. Her armour was all there, its burnished scarlet sheen a little scuffed but every bit as bright as she remembered.
Beaming most beamily, Hoshiro took out a pair of sharp metal-plated boots and laid them down with a clank. The dented greaves, the scalemail skirt, the cuirass covered in stickers, the curvy pauldrons, the ornate arm guards and the winged silver tiara she lay above them. Finally she took out her old gauntlets and lay them beside the suit with a soft clank. And there it was.
There was a time centuries ago when Hoshiro spent all day in her armour. She would wander the gardens, practice martial arts for hours and try to pluck up the courage to play with her sisters before they were called in for dinner. "Must you wear that ludicrous get-up?" her parents would complain. "You're twenty-six! Try acting like it for once."
It looked a bit tatty now, dented, scuffed and probably too tight in the chest, but the armour was her childhood. After more than a thousand years stuffed in the loft, it deserved an adventure.
Hoshiro slid off her boots and gloves, untoggled her tank top and removed her hat. Piece by piece she adorned herself in pink metal, buckling everything on in all the right places. At last she stood up with a gleeful smile and shouted her old battle cry. "For the honour of Ryuugu-jou!"
Nothing happened, but for one moment she felt like she was standing on top of the universe. She laughed and hugged herself with glee. If being twenty-six meant living a boring, respectable life, Hoshiro was forever twenty-five.
====================
The Hakurei Shrine was looking a little different when Hoshiro got there, eager to show off her armour.
"Oh, my!" observed Hoshiro, staring up into a roaring column of water. It was blasting out of the mountainside, leaving a wide, steaming pool that took up half of Reimu's garden. "I thought water features were expensive!"
"Shut up!" Reimu whapped Hoshiro's tiara with a faint ting. "Actually, to tell you the truth, I didn't buy it. It just appeared from out of nowhere. I'm thinking of starting a hot spring-"
"Of course, because a geyser appearing completely out of nowhere is the perfect chance to make a profit, not a sign of impending disaster the Shrine Maiden of Paradise should be doing something about!" a voice cut in. A woman was approaching, her silky pink hair fanning out beneath two cloth buns and her dress tight around a perfect body.
Reimu's face darkened. "I told you, Kasen, I don't care! Will you please leave me alone?!"
"You have a duty to investigate this type of thing! Yukari agrees with me! She says the geyser could've been caused by underground seismic activity, or a sign of impending attack!" Kasen insisted, slamming her hands onto her hips fiercely enough to make Reimu flinch and Hoshiro gasp. "Why are you just standing there?!"
"I- I'm not!" Glaring at Kasen, Reimu walked backwards all the way to her shrine and slammed the door. "Goodbye, Kasen! Feel free to drop in again when Hell freezes over!"
Kasen sighed. "Of all the shrines in all the world, I had to walk into hers... Oh, hello!" She examined Hoshiro. "I haven't seen you before. Who are you?"
"M- me?!" Blushing vividly, Hoshiro took a deep breath and spun into a heroic pose. "The Lovestruck Champion- Nope. Forever Champion, Hoshiro Nijinazuma! I fight for love, beauty and kiss me- Can I start again?!"
Hoshiro was acutely aware that Kasen was staring at her. She took a deep breath and spun into a different pose. "Forever Champion, Hoshiro Nijinazuma! I fight for love, truth and a bright future! YES! Got it!"
"...Well done. Delighted to meet you," said Kasen, offering Hoshiro a hand. "I am Kasen Ibaraki, a Taoist mystic and mentor to ungrateful shrine maidens. I fight for various things as and when needed."
"Delighted to meet you too, Kasen!" Hoshiro's heart fluttered as she shook Kasen's strong, slender hand. She took a deep breath and forced herself to stay calm. "I heard you talking to Reimu. What's wrong about the geyser?!"
"I don't entirely know, but it's very suspicious for a geyser to appear out of nowhere. It could be a sign of seismic activity, youkai messing around or both," explained Kasen. She spoke with confidence in a high, powerful voice. "Probably both. We should assume it's both and carry on from there."
"But both could be dreadful!" gasped Hoshiro. "Kasen! Even if Reimu's busy, I'll lend you my strength! Together we could handle anything underground! E-especially if we hold hands! So we don't fall?"
"Wait a minute! Why are you trying to get involved?!"
"I'm an Incident-Resolver! Being involved in things is my job!" said Hoshiro, full of fervent determination. "I'm extra-stage certified, I can lift a bus and my Ryujo Beam can reshape mountains! And if there is danger underground, it's everybody's business, not just yours. I can't ignore this!"
"You hear the faintest whisper of trouble and want to help, just like that?" Kasen spent a moment in thought, then she laughed. "Of course! You're absolutely right. People should solve problems- should WANT to solve problems! That's what so many of us lose sight of. We have one world to share, so we all need to take care of it."
"Exactly! Leave the world better than you found it," said Hoshiro, nodding in agreement. "So the geysers-"
"I suppose I'm not used to people like you, who want to pitch in right off the bat," Kasen carried on. "Most people in Gensokyo want money, food or the promise of a good time before they'll take action, or even just pretend to help when all they care about is the food."
"Some people don't take things seriously-"
"It isn't right!" snapped Kasen. "Fair enough, Incidents are a game, but we still need to get up and play it because if you don't play, you lose! People can't simply let themselves fester, Hoshiro. We must be strong, be brave, find every bit of strength that we have and never let it go! Because that is how we grow!"
"M-my thoughts exactly..." Hoshiro's head was spinning. "Kasen...! I've never met someone like you before! You're incredible!" she squealed, bouncing up and down with glee. "We'll be Utena and Anthy, Ty Lee and Mai, bound through danger by eternal love! Ohhh, I can't WAIT to take on the underground with you!"
"Wh- what are-? Ah. Right." Kasen came down from her rant, her face heavy with complicated emotions. "Eternal love we can discuss later. Unfortunately, due to circumtances, I can't visit the underground."
"Why not? Are you scared of caves? Or stalactites? The dark? Spiders? Bats? Oni? Badger-moles? Or magma, perhaps?"
"No, it's just that surface-dwelling... I wouldn't be allowed in Former Hell."
"Oh." Hoshiro tilted her head in confusion. "But you're clearly from underground!"
Kasen's eyes widened. "NO! I- I mean how can you possibly tell?!"
"Your aura's... subterranean?" Hoshiro lost steam when she saw the look Kasen was giving her. "What's wrong? I didn't mean anything, you're just clearly an underground youkai!"
"Listen! As far as... youkai are concerned, I'm far from normal. I am no longer what I was in the past," Kasen said carefully, pressing a hand to her forehead. "It took a lot of effort to remake myself into what you see now, but going by biology, I could still be considered a-"
Hoshiro gasped softly. "You're trans too?! Oh, Kasen, it's fine!" With a tender smile she took Kasen's hands. "We don't need to hide who we are, not even in Former Hell."
"Tra- trans...?" Kasen took a moment to gather her thoughts. "Well. I- I'm glad," she said carefully, "that here in Gensokyo we can live as who, and what, we truly are?"
"Gensokyo's the absolute best! Come to my arms!" Before Kasen could react, Hoshiro was hugging her tightly. "And Kasen, really, they aren't transphobic in Former Hell. Don't you know that, since you're also an oni?"
Kasen shut her eyes, shoved Hoshiro away and took a few heavy breaths. "Are you taking the point biscuits, Hoshiro?! Gods help me! I am not transed in my gender! I'm an oni- Not an oni- It's hard to explain!"
====================
"Sooooo, you're an oni-to-Taoist trans woman instead of the usual sort and it's a secret to everyone?"
"Pretty much." Kasen led the way down winding paths through the Bamboo Forest, her elegant shoes clomping on the earth. "Right, with that out of the way, our destination-"
"Oi! Are you Hoshiro the dragon?"
Hoshiro and Kasen both started. Ahead of them, making the path her kingdom despite her tiny stature, was a black-haired rabbit in a little pink dress.
"Oh!" cried Hoshiro. "It's, er! It's, um! Ohhh, who was she? I'm sure I know her!"
"It's Tewi," said Kasen, giving the rabbit a stare.
"Who, me? I'm Mystia Lorelei, night sparrow and independent tradeswoman!" said Tewi, smiling sweetly.
"Of course! Mystia! So sorry," said Hoshiro, playing sheepishly with her hair.
"No, she's Tewi," said Kasen, glaring at Tewi.
"Anyway," said Tewi formally, "I come bearing a message from Princess Kaguya! Her Royal Loonyness cordially invites you to an afternoon of board games at the House of Eternity with Cirno, Eirin, Sakuya, Reisen and herself. Please send your RSVP back with the rabb- With the night sparrow."
Her work complete, Tewi curtsied primly and stuck out her tongue.
"Oh..." Hoshiro bit her lip. "Thanks, Mystia, but tell her I'm busy. We have to stop the geysers before things get worse!"
"She's Tewi!" snapped Kasen.
Tewi nodded. "I'll tell her you're fooling around with your girlfriend and can't be bothered. Byeeee~!"
Hoshiro turned red. Kasen lunged at Tewi. Tewi was away in a flash, her feet blurring into a circle as she sprinted back through the forest, Kasen's fingers closing on thin air where her ears had been just seconds ago.
"Gods save me!" sighed Kasen, having a stretch. "You do realise that was Tewi, don't you? Not Mystia?"
"I don't know!" squeaked Hoshiro, still blushing vividly. "Remind me, where are we going?! I lost my train of thought!"
"To the Fantastic Blownhole, gateway to the Underworld. Speaking of which!" Kasen reached inside her pocket and pulled out a round silver amulet, etched with a spiral and inlaid with a single blue sapphire. "This is a karageitai sigil, an enchanted device that uses Taoist magic to let people talk over long distance. Do you have one?"
"No, but..." Hoshiro burrowed a hand under her armour and searched her pockets. "I have a mobile phone!" Beaming with pride, she presented a pink flip phone covered in Cardcaptor Sakura and Super Sentai stickers.
Of course she does. Of grazing COURSE she does, Kasen didn't groan. "Oh... Good!" she did say, and then tapped her sigil against the phone. "If you have a modern SIM card, we'll be able to communicate while you're underground. All right?"
I got her number! Half an hour together and I got her number! Hoshiro didn't squeal with joy. "Right on! Thanks, Kasen!" she did say, spinning around and punching the air. "No time to waste. To the Fantastic Blowhole!"
====================
The cave was a vast round space carved deep into the rock, damp and rough underfoot with just enough light to see. Hoshiro was glad of her armour as she stomped over sharp rocks underfoot, but wished for her tank top when a cold breeze blew from down below.
"Hoshiro, can you hear me?" Soft and echoey, Kasen spoke into Hoshiro's ear as if they were standing side by side.
"Loud and clear, Kasen!" A person with more sense might have wondered how a mobile phone could do that, but not Hoshiro.
"Good. The deep road to Hell is about half a mile ahead of you, but in the meantime you'll have tsurubi-otoshi and tsuchigumo to contend with. Is your objective clear?"
"Of course!" Hoshiro nodded firmly. "I've been developing a new attack, too. Ryujo Shot! It's a controlled release of divine power, fit for danmaku and other non-lethal stuff."
"I hope it works, then. Be careful," said Kasen.
Hoshiro may or may not have been careful; it didn't matter, because half a minute later a thick, heavy crunch echoed throughout the cave. Chunks of brown stone began to fall like hail, smashing into the floor and throwing up clouds of dust.
On the bright side, this was the perfect chance to try her new technique. Hoshiro took aim above her head and thrust out her arm, her gauntleted fingers outstretched. "Ryujo Shot!"
An orb of pink light flashed out from her palm, streaking through the air like a bullet. The plummeting boulder exploded in a shower of gravel when it hit.
"Wow! Amazing!" Hoshiro beamed, then a piece of debris hit her head. "OW!"
"Ah..." Kasen hoped Hoshiro couldn't hear her cringing at her forgetfulness. "That reminds me, watch out for falling boulders! You'll need to shoot or evade them. Think of it as the cavern roof using a spell-card against you if that helps!"
"Thank you for warning me!" Hoshiro readied another Ryujo Shot and launched herself across the cavern.
Her metal boots clanking, Hoshiro ran beneath the cascading rocks, firing at anything which came her way. The bashing and crunching of boulders on the floor joined the bright, pulsing notes of her bullets in a deafening chorus. There was barely time to think, but within a minute the last boulder fell and Hoshiro skidded to a halt in a flat, dusty stretch of cave.
She heard something creak high above her. Hoshiro gasped and dove away moments before a wooden bucket slammed down where she'd been standing. The cave trembled, clouds of dust pouring from the bucket's foot. From inside the wooden water-carrying device a green-haired woman glared, her eyes full of bloodlust.
"A tsurubi-otoshi...!" Hoshiro narrowed her eyes and charged up her Ryujo Shot. "I'm on a vital mission to stop the geyser in Reimu's garden! Don't get in my way!"
"Well, doesn't that sound like a splendid time? That being said, I'll get in whoever's way I happen to fancy." With a vicious smile, Kisume launched herself upwards and came flying bucket-first at Hoshiro.
Hoshiro fired, but the bullet burst harmlessly on the bottom of the bucket. She dove underneath, her armour grinding against the stone, and somersaulted to her feet.
"An armoured bucket!" Hoshiro bit her lip. "I have to expose her non-bucket side! Next time she comes for me-"
"She's coming for you!"
Kisume came for her. Hoshiro drew back her fist and swung just as the bucket bore down upon her. In a moment which felt like several seconds she heard the clash of gauntlet upon wood, felt the impact jar her knuckles, then Kisume went spinning into the air and fell on her head.
Hoshiro charged forwards, somersaulting over the dusty ground, and grabbed the bucket. Kisume reached out feebly to stop her, but to no avail. Hoshiro smashed the bucket against a boulder and stomped it into splinters.
"There!" she said, standing triumphantly over the stunned Kisume. "Done and done."
Kisume stared open-mouthed for another second, then her eyes filled with tears. "Wh-what have you done?!" she squeaked, all but choking on her grief. "A tsurubi-otoshi without her bucket is nothing!"
Hoshiro was horrified. "Y-you attacked me! I had to fight back! Don't feel bad, it wasn't personal."
"My sanctum sanctorum, my second body, my weapon, my greatest treasure, nothing else now but a pile of rubbish. O, whatever will I do?! I shall be an outcast, rejected by my sistren forevermore," sniffled Kisume.
"Augh, I'm so sorry! Please forgive me!" Hoshiro fell to her knees in front of Kisume. "I had no idea it was important to you!"
"What are you-?! Hoshiro, she's playing you!" said Kasen urgently.
"I-I can nail it back together or get you another one! Come on, don't cry! I swear I'll make this right!" sobbed Hoshiro, brushing a hand over Kisume's tear-wet cheek. "Do you want compensation? A cake or money?"
"No, don't get close to her! She's taking you for a fool-"
Kisume blinked back her tears and headbutted Hoshiro with tremendous force. Hoshiro flew onto her back with a painful clatter.
"Oww, what on-?! Ow!" whimpered Hoshiro, stars swimming before her eyes.
"You're so easy," grinned Kisume, rising triumphantly to her feet. "I can purchase a new bucket at any reputable garden centre. But I must thank you; today I needed a victory, something to redress the balance after that broad humiliated me with her energy beams."
"I told you, didn't I?! Never trust crocodile tears!" Kasen bit her lip. "Hoshiro? Can you hear me?"
Hoshiro propped herself up on her elbows and groaned. "That was a cheap shot," she said severely, glaring daggers at Kisume.
"Thank heavens!" Kasen let out a sigh of relief.
"Fake distress is banned under the spell-card rules since Revision Three! Shame on you!" Hoshiro ranted as she stood up. "The rules protect Gensokyo's ecosystem in various ways!"
"Oh, may the gods forgive me," sneered Kisume. "That being said, since you're still on your feet-"
"I don't want to hear it! I'm going!" snapped Hoshiro, storming into the cave away from Kisume.
"Um, just a minute-"
"Goodbye!"
"You haven't... Technically... Defeated me..." Kisume sagged in resignation. "Got to put my stupid bucket back together now. Yamame! Yamame, where's the glue?!"
====================
"Why?" moaned Yamame, sprawled out in a pile of discarded webbing. "Why'd I give Kisume my best pot of glue?! She wouldn't do the same for me!"
"The tsurubi-otoshi? She's bad news," said Hoshiro, nodding sympathetically. "But sticky spell-cards aren't fun, so she helped me!"
"I could've won if I'd been firing on all cylinders, y'know!" sassed Yamame. "A nice drink of glue before a duel's the way to go."
Hoshiro felt sick. "Sorry you missed out," she said weakly.
"I'd move on if I were you," Kasen piped up. "After the bridge-"
"Wow, that's beautiful!"
"Oh, have you found something?"
Lit faintly by a brazier at the side of the cave was a gleaming marble statue. It depicted a tall, winged tengu, her plaits shaped as if flowing in the wind, standing proudly over an orange metal orb. Hoshiro stared at the statue in wonder, her concerns over Yamame's diet completely forgotten.
Kasen made a noise which sounded like she was rolling her eyes. "It's only a statue, Hoshiro! We've got more important things to worry about."
"I just want to look at it!" Hoshiro said plaintively. "What's the ball for, Yamame? Does it do anything?"
Yamame shrugged. "Try licking it!"
"For bloomers' sake, don't under any circumstances try licking it!"
"I won't! Don't worry!" Hoshiro stomped over to the statue, reached out gingerly with a finger and touched the orb.
She felt a momentary shock, as if vast quantities of energy were flowing out of the orb, then nothing. Hoshiro blinked twice and stared at her metal-clad finger, which looked completely normal. Carefully she touched the tip of her nose, feeling the cold metal press against her skin. Still nothing happened.
"Nothing, huh? It figures," said Yamame, shrugging nonchalantly. "Ancient tengu explorers never clean up after themselves."
====================
"This tunnel never ends!"
"It's definitely going to end, Hoshiro. You just need to be patient."
"Oh, that was a metaphor. I didn't mean it literally never ends."
Hoshiro was jogging along a wide tunnel, thin patches of silty mud splatting under her feet. The stone around her looked almost green in the faint underground light.
"Anyway, this road leads to the capital city of Former Hell, which we... Which the oni... Which people call the Former Capital. Before that, you'll come to an underground river," explained Kasen. "There could well be a monster guarding the bridge; I don't remember too clearly. If there is, just fly over the river instead of crossing the bridge. Is your objective clear?"
"Er, one thing! What if I fly directly above the bridge?"
Kasen blinked. "Er... I wouldn't worry about it."
Hoshiro could hear rushing water by then. The cavern started to widen out and soon a river emerged from the darkness, coursing across the cave's pebbly floor. There was a tatty wooden bridge over the river, and a blonde woman in a fancy Iranian dress stood on the splintery planks.
The woman gasped when she saw Hoshiro. "A stranger? No, a- a DRAGON?! What are you doing down here?!"
"A geyser erupted on the surface, threatening to flood the Human Village, spray hot water on people or much, much worse! I came here to investigate!" Hoshiro shouted, stopping in front of the bridge.
"Oh..." Parsee scowled. "I should've known. A dragon would never condescend to come down here without a 'good reason'."
Hoshiro blinked. "Um, is she the...?"
"I remember now," said Kasen grimly. "That's Parsley Mitsubishi, a once kind and friendly woman who became a youkai of jealousy. My opposite in every way."
"In every way? So she is transgender?"
Striding towards Hoshiro, Parsee frowned in confusion. "Who are you talking to?"
"...I have no idea, but don't underestimate her! She can turn you mad with jealousy!" Kasen said urgently.
Hoshiro gasped. "That's awful! Don't worry, she won't get close to me."
Parsee snapped her fingers in Hoshiro's face. "Oi! Gensokyo to tall dragon! Come in, please!"
"Uwah?!" Hoshiro stared at her, then sneezed. "Excuse me! I was just talking to-"
"Your imaginary friend who lives in your imagination. It happens," Parsee said, smiling through gritted teeth. "I'm jealous of how tall and well-built you are. I'm jealous of the long ponytails and detachable wings you dragons have. I'm jealous of how you can control the weather! I'm jealous because we don't get weather down here!"
Hoshiro stared open-mouthed for a few seconds, then she scowled. "If that's your attitude, I'll just go. Come on, Kasen!"
Hoshiro swept away from Parsee and stormed past, her clomping footsteps echoing through the cave.
"Wha... What?" Parsee was crestfallen. "Hey... Hey, stop! Y-you can't just... You can't just go and... Come back! It's not fair if you don't fight me! Ohhh..."
====================
The deep road carried on for a little longer, then the tunnel opened up into the largest cavern Hoshiro had ever seen. Stretching out in all directions, curving like a soup plate, its ceiling arched high over the floor and its far walls barely visible through miles of fog, Former Hell made the Fantastic Blowhole look like a cupboard.
"Wow...!" breathed Hoshiro, staring out into the expanse. "It's huge! I had no idea this was down here!"
Villages were dotted around the distant slopes, clusters of orange lamps glowing in the twilight, and a small city nestled in the centre of the plains. Its slate rooves looked shiny and blue beneath the sun, its streets too distant and shadowy to make out.
"The Former Capital of Former Hell." Hoshiro smiled in the very particular way she'd learned from anime. "Then that's where we're going! Come on, Kasen!"
"I'm not technically coming with you. You don't need to say that every time," said Kasen.
"You are with me! Not physically, but of course you're here!" Hoshiro explained her reasoning while she ran down the winding road to the city. "Actually, something's confusing me. Why is there a sun underground?"
"A... A sun? This isn't the time for jokes, Hoshiro!"
"I wasn't joking! There's a sun, right there!" Hoshiro pointed at the flaming orb high above the city, shielding her eyes against its glare.
"I- I can't see it." Kasen sounded a little disappointed. "Is there really a...? What sort of sun are we talking about? Describe it to me!"
"Er, a radiant sphere of burning daffodil yellow, too bright to look upon! It lights up the cavern roof in beige and cream, casting stark shadows behind the stalactites and crags, and beams down on the Former Capital nestled far below. Even down here I feel its warmth on my skin!" described Hoshiro, saving the writer a bit of work.
"Well, that's very unusual," said Kasen quietly. "An underground sun and a geyser from underground. Could these things be connected in some way?"
"It's a real poser," said Hoshiro. She slowed down in front of the city gate, a thick blue torii that towered over the road, and wandered in.
The gravel gave way to cracked flagstones beneath her feet. She peered at the rows of shady wooden houses on either side, their faces brown, blue and grey in the dim light.
"The sun here isn't as bright the real sun," Hoshiro observed, peering upwards. "It isn't hanging from anything I can see. How weird!"
"Like it?" a voice shouted from somewhere unseen. "We had it put in last week!"
Hoshiro heard heavy footsteps echoing from a side street, then a stranger stomped into view. She was a tall, muscular woman wearing shackles, a white blouse and some sort of barred skirt with a single red horn on her forehead.
"Ohhh, dear." Kasen bit her lip, not that Hoshiro could see her biting anything. "That's Yuugi Hoshiguma, one of the Four Devas of the Mountain. She's friendly, but her version of friendliness puts the target in immediate danger! Be careful!"
"Yuugi Hoshiguma...?" repeated Hoshiro.
Yuugi's face brightened. "Oh, you know me! Then I'd better give you the proper welcome!"
Hoshiro blinked. "Wha-?"
Before she could voice the T at the end, Yuugi's large clenched fist ploughed into her nose. She slid backwards, her sabatons sparking on the flagstones, and came to a stop.
"...OW!" gasped Hoshiro.
"Wow, a strong new face!" laughed Yuugi, withdrawing her fist. "You, I like. Come on, let's get a drink!"
Hoshiro glared at her. "What's wrong with you?! That's no way to welcome someone!"
"I did try to warn you," said Kasen. "Try to get away before-"
"Who's that? Is that Kasen talking in your ear?!" Yuugi leaned uncomfortably close to Hoshiro. "Hellooooooo?! Yoo-hoo! Kasen!"
"I-I'm not here! Tell her I'm someone else!"
"Do you mind?!" cried Hoshiro, shoving Yuugi away.
Yuugi grinned. "That was definitely Kasen. Well, any friend of Kasen's a friend of mine. Shove the drink, let's have a proper fight!"
"No, Kasen clearly isn't comfortable, so we're going. 'Bye!" Hoshiro stomped off along the road.
"Oi! Didn't you hear me?!"
Hoshiro felt heavy footfalls behind her, then a sharp pull on her hair. Yuugi had her by the ponytail.
"Aaugh! Wh- what are you doing?!" demanded Hoshiro, straining against the tension on her scalp.
"Isn't it obvious? Giving you a proper welcome!" laughed Yuugi.
A sharp tug separated Hoshiro's feet from the ground, then she was flying through the air, whirling around helplessly like a slingshot.
"Aaaaaaaargh!" Hoshiro screamed.
"Wheeeee!" Yuugi squealed, then she let go.
Hoshiro smashed through the front window of a maid cafe, barged through a couple of mannequins in frilly dresses and ploughed head-first into the counter, where she lay slumped over the floor.
"Hoshiro! Oh, gods!" Kasen cried out in horror. "Yuugi's terribly strong, perhaps even moreso than me, but you can beat her at range. Subterranean Animism is a shooting game, not a fighting game! Use that to your advantage! ...Hello? Are you listening?"
When no reply came for a few seconds more, Kasen started to panic. "Oh, no, she's dead. I- I've sent her to her death! This poor, overenthusiastic dragon, so eager to please... I sent her to her death, all because I wasn't ready to face the other oni!" She screamed, full of despair and regret. "Hoshiro! Please, stand up! You have to stand up!"
Hoshiro groaned. "Ka... Kasen? Is that you?"
"Hoshiro! Oh, thank Ryuujin you're all right. If you- If you'd died because of me...!"
"He isn't really involved! Only sent me my... Armour..." Hoshiro shifted awkwardly, her armour scraping the tiles. "Um, my horns are stuck in the counter."
After a moment's struggle Hoshiro stood up, bringing half the counter with her. Pieces of tile and splintered wood clattered around her feet as she stormed out of the cafe, an angry look and a frilly headdress on her face.
"All right, Yuugi, you can have your proper fight!" shouted Hoshiro, adopting a dynamic combat stance. "Defend yourself!"
Yuugi whooped and punched the air. "That's the spirit! Let's do this!"
Yuugi lowered her head and charged, the flagstones cracking beneath her sandals. Hoshiro swung her body to the side and grabbed Yuugi around the shoulders, missing her horn by an inch.
As the momentum shunted her backwards, Hoshiro twisted around and threw Yuugi down the road. Yuugi rolled onto her feet, still smiling, and charged at Hoshiro.
This time Yuugi came at her with a blistering punch. Hoshiro batted it aside, their arms colliding with the force of a serious car accident, and kicked her in the shin.
"Ow!" Yuugi stomped on Hoshiro's foot. Hoshiro hopped backwards, gritting her teeth through the pain, and launched a kick at Yuugi's stomach.
Yuugi spun like a whirlwind and kicked Hoshiro's kick off to the side. Hoshiro cartwheeled away from a flurry of punches and stopped to catch her breath.
Lights were being turned on now, dozens of sleepy underground youkai poking their heads out of windows on either side of the road. Hoshiro bit her lip. The maid cafe had been empty, but if she or Yuugi got careless again, people someone could get hurt.
"Yuugi!" Hoshiro said urgently. "Please, calm down for a bit. You don't need to fight me!"
"Ohh, why not?! It's fun!" Yuugi replied. "Right, girls?! A day without violence is like a night without drinking!"
A scattered cheer emerged from the gawping youkai.
"But I'm not your enemy, Yuugi! I came to defeat the geyser- Er, no, to find its source and defeat them or otherwise stop the thing!" argued Hoshiro.
Yuugi blinked. "Geyser? Oh, you must be after that woman from earlier!"
Kasen gasped. "Woman from earlier?! Finally we're getting somewhere! Press her, Hoshiro, get some information!"
"I'm pressing, I'm pressing! Who's the woman from earlier, Yuugi?! Tell us about- me about her!"
"She had long hair, frilly clothes and something stuck to her hand, a magic energy beam cannon. She was stronger than the sun, she almost set the city on fire! I knew it was gonna be an exciting day when she came through," said Yuugi, smiling at the happy memory.
"Stronger than the sun... What the fantasy seal are we dealing with?!" breathed Kasen.
"A sun goddess with a grudge? A western dragon? Or- No, what if she's Amaterasu's dark mirror, the kami of the underground sun?!" Hoshiro gasped. "Sorry, Yuugi, I really need to go! Can you tell me where she might be?!"
Yuugi scratched her head. "I think she went that way, to the Palace of the Earth Spirits. Must've been heading for the Hell of Blazing Fires. Why's it so important for you to meet her, anyway?"
"We don't want Reimu's feet to get wet! Goodbye!"
Before Yuugi could try anything, Hoshiro shot up into the air. A sonic boom sounded as she flew away at speed.
"Blimey," said Yuugi. "Does she know the Palace is...?"
A streak of red and pink flashed by overhead, going the other way.
"Ahhh." Yuugi smiled. "Got there in the end!"
====================
"I do wonder how that cat broke her wheelbarrow." Hoshiro spoke quickly as she flew down mile-long corridors, purple stained glass windows flashing past. "Wish we'd had time to ask her. Gee, what were they doing down here?!"
There were cracks on the floor, walls and ceiling, occasional scorched impact craters still smouldering from a fight. Handfuls of animal-eared youkai were milling around and trying to patch things up.
"I don't know, but it looks bad. A power greater than the sun..."
"I couldn't even beat the sun!" lamented Hoshiro. The air around her was growing warmer, the wallpaper and carpet giving way to bare bricks and stone, then the hallway opened up into another cavern. "Kasen, where are we?!"
"I've never been here before. All I can think of is..." Kasen gasped. "Could it be the Hell of Blazing Fires? It was shut down centuries ago, but it's the only place that makes sense! Hoshiro, listen to me, you mustn't die! It's incredibly important that you don't die in the Hell of Blazing Fires, do you understand?!"
"I try not to die anywhere!" Hoshiro was starting to sweat from the heat. She could see a warm orange glow up ahead, as if the tunnel opened up onto a vast wall of fire. Another sun? Surely not; that would just be excessive.
"Kasen..." Hoshiro took a deep breath. "Before it gets crazy again, I want you to know know-"
"You don't need to say anything," said Kasen, letting some softness into her voice. "I know how you feel about me, and it's... Well, I can't say I blame you. You're good company and, I believe, a good person, and I'd definitely miss you if anything were to..." She swallowed. "Don't let anything happen to you. Come out of there safely. Is your objective clear?"
"Crystal clear. I promise." Hoshiro nodded solemnly. "And- and next time, let's resolve an Incident together! Without the Metroid parody stuff that hasn't gone anywhere and should probably just be cut altogether!"
Kasen smiled, not that Hoshiro could see any smiles going on. "I'd love to. For now, though, let's focus on stopping the geysers."
"Right." Hoshiro squared her shoulders. "Whoever it is, whatever power they have, I won't lose to a duplicate sun! For Reimu's feet and all the feet in Gensokyo-"
A shadow passed over Hoshiro's face. "Wha-?! Who's there?!"
There was a woman, her long hair shining under the glow from behind, flying out of the deep cave. She wore a frilly skirt and a white blouse, a mantle of blue behind her shoulders, and in her hand she held a round device that still glowed with power. She flew towards Hoshiro with the calm confidence of a warrior who could face down the sun.
"Hi, Hoshiro!" Marisa said brightly. "Guess you got here too late. I already beat her!"
====================
"I don't believe it. Even doing everything right, I boobed again."
"We didn't boob, Hoshiro, we just... Took our time. You must remember that when it comes to Incidents, all's well that ends well, and it looks like it has ended well thanks to Marisa."
"All right, ladies, step this way!" Marisa led Hoshiro into a well-lit dining room decorated with tall dressers and brightly-coloured pillows.
A tired-looking woman in pink and purple clothes was sitting at a long wooden table. She looked up expectantly when Marisa came in. Beside her was a tall black-haired woman wearing a white blouse and a very sheepish expression.
"This is Satori the satori, the palace's owner. And this is Utsuho." Marisa gestured to the black-haired woman, who started guiltily at the mention of her name.
"Satori, Utsuho, this is Hoshiro," Marisa continued. "She's an Incident-Resolver who got here too late."
Satori met Hoshiro with a piercing purple gaze. "Hmm... Yes, that makes sense. You're surprised, confused and more than a little jealous of Marisa."
Hoshiro's face reddened. "Um, not JEALOUS jealous, I wish I'd done better and not been shown up again?"
"I know," said Satori. "There's no need to be ashamed. Everyone has selfish or uncharitable thoughts sometimes, and we can't be blamed for what our subconscious minds shout unbidden. Now, Utsuho...?"
Utsuho took a deep breath and stood up. "There's something I need to say," she declared, avoiding Marisa and Hoshiro's eyes. "I'm... sorry I used the Yatagarasu's power to overcharge the nuclear fusion reactor in the Remains of Blazing Hell to the point where it caused problems on the surface. It was selfish and wrong of me."
Hoshiro's eyes glazed over. She'd lost track halfway through the sentence. "Um... You're sorry you overcharged what?"
Marisa snorted. "That's Utsuho for you! I suppose she isn't really what you were expecting."
"'She' is sitting right there," said Satori severely.
"I'm standing up, actually," Utsuho pointed out. "If it matters. Actually, it probably doesn't."
Hoshiro was amazed. This was nothing like the evil twin Amaterasu she'd been expecting. "Utsuho... You seem perfectly nice! I don't understand," she said softly. "Why did you overcharge... Use the... Why did you do the thing you did?!"
Utsuho laughed nervously. "I- I don't understand the question."
"She's asking for your reasoning," said Satori patiently. "What led you to abuse your powers? What made you think it was a good idea?"
"Oh." Utsuho cast her eyes down. "I don't know! All I can say is that it seemed like a good idea at the time. And I wanted to explore the limits of my capabilities. And it was fun. But what wasn't fun was the-" Utsuho's brow furrowed. "Lady Satori, I've forgotten what problems I actually caused on the surface. What were they?"
"The geyser," said Satori. "And the earth spirits who got loose."
Utsuho gasped. "Earth spirits got loose?! Way cool!"
"No, it isn't! It isn't! You're apologising, remember?" Satori said urgently. "Apologies involve contrition and an understanding of wrongdoing, not pride. I could write it down for you if..."
"Oh, no, I forgot!" Utsuho put her head in her hands. "Augh, this is rubbish! I can't do this. Nuclear fusion is my speciality, not understanding of wrongdoing!"
"Don't feel bad! Your apology was fine until that part!" Hoshiro reached over the table and patted Utsuho on the head, giving Satori a brief angry look. "I understand. It's hard to admit your faults. That's nothing to be ashamed of, Utsuho! What matters is that you tried."
"R-really?" Utsuho looked hopeful. "My apology isn't a complete failure? I'm so glad!"
"I don't believe what I'm hearing," said Kasen heavily. "Why are you comforting her when she nearly brought ruin to Gensokyo?!"
"She clearly regrets it! Don't be harsh on her," said Hoshiro severely.
Satori gave her a strange look. "I never said anything about being harsh. The truth is I can't control Utsuho at this point, so rather than punishing her for vengeance's sake-"
Satori blinked, confusion writ large across her face. "Kasen...? Oh, your friend who's talking into your head, not me! Sorry, but if you will talk to an unseen companion without telling us, it can really get confusing."
Marisa nodded. "Mm-hmm. I completely agree, Alice, and to answer your other question I'm wearing the black ones today. Yes, with the little star on each... You know."
"What's she talking about? Have you changed your name to Alice?!" gasped Kasen. "More to the point, why do you need to know the colour of her-"
"No, Marisa was talking to Alice- Sorry, that was me talking to Kasen." Hoshiro cleared her throat. "What- what do we do now?"
"Now?" Kasen sighed heavily. "I have a nap. Feel free to come back and join me."
Whatever the blushing Hoshiro might have stammered out in response was lost to history, because that was the moment Rin chose to burst in with a laden tea tray.
"Ex- excuse me!" she shouted. "Lady Satori? I thought you might want some tea for the, um, court martial."
Satori's face brightened. "Yes, that would be wonderful! And there's no need to be nervous, Orin, we're only having a... Friendly discussion."
"Oh, so you aren't gonna kill her. Well, of course not!" Rin breathed a sigh of relief. "I- I don't know why I worried. Who wants tea and cake?"

Atlas does a better nom
Soooo big guy is a gentle giant, a softie at heart, but even the softest have their moments, especially when the people they love are potentially in danger.  Sooo warning, this contains some fatal noms, though not on anyone who don’t deserve it.
Atlas had never actually caught a human before… Thanks to the help from the assorted smalls he’d gotten used to having something resting in his upper belly, but had never actually done anything beyond that. He knew the other nagas, particularly Jotaro, had actually eaten hunters and trappers and assorted humans before, mostly those who attempted to cause harm to his family and friends or those who tried to take the arrow, but the thought of it had made his stomach turn. Until now, that was. He’d been playing with the smalls and the kids outside, daring to face the blue abyss above his head to experience a nice warm day outside in the soft grass with the breeze in the trees. It had been going well, he’d been gaining some experience sniffing out the others, putting his own skills of hiding to good use as well, when some shift in the wind sent a scent his way that dropped a block of ice into his stomach. An unfamiliar human, one he knew for certain he didn’t know. He only caught a glimpse of their back, but he knew for certain this was a stranger. They hadn’t seen him yet, crouched in the brush fiddling with something, but it was clear they meant trouble if the rifle across their back was anything… Atlas wanted nothing more than to hide, run, that was what the heavy weight in his gut said, but… he knew the others were around, and they were so small compared to him… If he fled, gave in to that nagging panic in the back of his head, then he’d never be trusted with them again. He had to do something, keep them safe… For a moment all he could do was stare, hidden behind a tree, his heart pounding in his ears. He could see the human stand, see them grin as they started rearranging some grass and twigs. What were they…? His thoughts were cut off by the short scream of a rabbit to his left, and both him and the human’s eyes darted towards the sound, though it was the stranger who cursed in apparent annoyance. The small creature had been hoisted from the ground by its neck, a metal line wrapped tight around its still-twitching body, something that clearly upset the human. Atlas could hear them curse and draw a knife to get it down, mutterings of “damn critters” and.. “Possible bait maybe” and the most damning of all… “eh, won’t be too bad if the little ones get messed up, ‘long as they don’t die I can still get somethin’ for ‘em… Always someone looking to get a new guard snake.”
The very notion… the very idea of any of the little ones ending up like him… being locked up, chained and made into some sick twisted creature to guard someone’s things, made into a sick sort of pet… The ice in his stomach was starting to melt, quickly enveloped by hot anger as a growl rose in his chest. Nobody, no damn human piece of shit was going to be touching anyone around here… and they sure as hell weren’t going to be taking any children from this land! He was in motion before he realized it, charging forward with a snarl as the human whipped around with their knife still in hand. Clearly they hadn’t expected to be caught like this out in the open, much less by a naga as large as him, and soon found themself wrapped tight in those pale coils. Atlas snarled, the picture of a pissed-off naga as he stared down at the pathetic thing he’d caught. What was he supposed to do with them? He could always kill them with ease, but then he’d have to worry about the kids or anyone else finding the body… Did he just scare them off? They might come back with more people, with more weapons… His mind was whirling with ideas, though abruptly he was pulled out of his head by a stabbing pain in his tail, the naga hissing as he squeezed the human tighter. They’d taken that knife and found a spot between his scales to drive it in, twisting the blade in hopes that the pain would convince the naga to drop him, spouting something about how he wasn’t alone and he’d have company coming real soon. Something that Atlas was very doubtful of. A hunter, maybe, but a trapper like this was sneaky and worked alone. The injury did little but anger the naga, and cause him to tighten his grip, the voice of long-buried instinct roaring at him. He knew what someone like this deserved… and for once his fear was only a distant afterthought. His jaws parted and the human’s scream was quickly muffled by slick warm flesh as Atlas closed his mouth around their upper body, pulling them free from the grasp of his coils only to toss his head back and gulp hard. Their kicking legs stuck from his mouth and could feel their hands scramble against his teeth, desperate to find some purchase to pull themself free. Though despite their thrashing and fighting, they were absolutely no match for Atlas's powerful throat muscles which were quick to latch on to the human to drag them down with another heavy swallow. Atlas felt at the squirming lump slowly sliding down his throat, his eyes watering slightly as he got his first real taste of an unwilling prey. Before, he'd only been given the ones already dead, nothing but meat, but this one was fighting for their life… The naga grimaced when that heavy struggling weight settled onto his upper belly, his gut visibly quaking with each kick and punch, the organ gurgling out a sickly sound as a wave of nausea hit him with all the struggling. He pressed a hand against his middle, hoping to still the movements before shuddering as he felt his prey's hands pushing against the tight ring of muscle that had shut behind them. If they kept this up, he wouldn't be able to keep them down… ugh, Jotaro made this look so easy… Again came that whisper in the back of his head, instincts buried by years of "training", actions he wanted to take beaten down by strike after strike… His body knew just what to do and with hardly a thought those internal muscles squeezed again. In their haste to try and force themself out, the human had failed to realize they'd slid into the perfect pose to be dragged out of the safety of the first stomach and into the second. Quickly those crushing lower esophageal muscles clamped down on their legs to pull them down in a swift motion, arms soon unable to be pulled to their sides, leaving them no chance to jam themself into place as they were squeezed through the much tighter and rougher second throat and into the larger but far more dangerous space of the digestive stomach. Atlas sighed at this new feeling, a soft coo slipping from his lips before he could stop it. It was such a relief to not have that angry thrashing in his soft upper belly… though he paused at an odd feeling in his lower. He'd.. never had something alive in there before… at least, not in his fuzzy memory. That coo of relief turned into an unhappy growl as he ran his hands over the still-kicking lump in his lower belly, wishing he'd had the foresight to remove the heavy boots he could feel digging into his stomach. At a time like this he wanted nothing more than one of those amazing belly rubs from a pair of small hands, but the idea of going anywhere to find them was certainly not an option. Atlas could make out faint shouts, curses and screams, though as time went on they slowly grew weaker. What kind of hell the trapper-turned food was facing was beyond the naga's comprehension, all he could really do was knead against that angry form and let those threats melt away as his gut burbled and groaned in apparent confusion over this active meal. The white-haired naga glanced around, frowning at the dead rabbit, before making sure the poor creature didn't go to waste, snapping it up and smirking slightly to himself when his rowdy meal screamed at the sudden roommate. Maybe that would distract them and let him clean up these traps before any of the little ones came around and got themselves hurt. By the time he'd picked apart all the wires and thrown dirt back into the few pit traps he'd found, Atlas was pleased to discover the thrashing had gone quiet, leaving only the pleasant gurgling and groaning of a satisfied stomach. He'd have to tell Jotaro about the trapper later, he was sure there was some vehicle he'd have to find and dispose of, but at the moment he was eager to simply go back inside and find the warmest, darkest spot he could fit himself into and sleep. He knew for certain there'd be some internal bruising, but he could handle that so long as he knew everyone else would be safe. Hm.. was this what Jotaro felt when he did this? He could understand why the big guardian naga did that after this experience… he'd do anything to keep this new family of his safe.

SAHASAM SWASAGA SAGIPO REVIEW MOVIE
It’s a movie you should watch for the feels. The story in itself is good, and the direction, cinematography and music add a great deal to it. If you can survive an unusual narrative for a plot that will unfold only at the climax, Saahasam… could be a good pick. Baba Sehgal deserves an applause for his act as the crass Marathi cop. His dialogues served as unsuspecting comic relief as long as he was on screen. Rakendu, who played Naga Chaitanya’s friend Mahesh, delivered effortlessly. Manjima Mohan looked like your quintessential Goutham Menon heroine – not conventionally beautiful but will make you want to fall in love. He certainly worked his magic in the emotional scenes, but the ease that he displayed in his latest flick was missing then. Naga Chaitanya’s skill as an actor was lauded in Premam, but considering that this movie was made a couple of years ago, his acting set him back a couple of years too. The sunrise at Kanyakumari as Thanu Nenu plays in the background, the guitar riffs as Rajinikanth conquers his fears, the melodies when he confesses his love – you’ll be left with moments to take home, all thanks to right music at the right time. It probably would’ve been better if the story unravelled steadily over the span of 2 and a half hours, rather.Īlthough the audience have had enough time to stew in the music given by Rahman, the visuals added to them in the movie only makes it a whole new experience all over again. You’ll keep waiting for answers and all of them are answered in a 5 minute scene in the climax, as Rajinikanth narrates it. You’ll want to relate to Divya and Rajinikanth’s turmoil as you watch the pacy scenes but you have no information to do so. The second half has a lot happening and the audience are just as confused as the characters in the movie. Not much else happens in the first half, and it almost borders on boredom. So the moments in the sequences between Naga Chaitanya and Manjima will leave you with something you’d want to share and discuss with your loved one later. And by action, I mean guns, murders, rogue cops – the works. While the first half is mostly dedicated to romance, the second half is unexpectedly action-packed. Movie Review: With those spellbinding visuals, that enchanting Rahman music and Chinmayi’s trademark voice, Saahasam Swaasaga Saagipo recreates the magic which you would expect of a Goutham Menon movie.

⋄⋆⊹⋄⋆⋄⋆⊹⋄⋆⋄⋆⊹⋄⋆
The world was a magical one.
The planet was crawling with mythological creatures steaming from the smallest of pixies to the largest Kraken. The world was full of mystery, wonder, and adventure. Fire breathing dragons and cursed powerful swords were hidden away from the few humans and elves to discover. As in any civilization, there were those who got along and those who didn’t.
Some species of creatures got along with everyone, there were others that were feared beyond reason, and a few that were loved for moments and feared for others.
You were a fairy.
And you were tiny.
Standing no more than three apples high, you had iridescent wings that curled and shone in the glimmering light whenever you so much as moved. You were a good fairy, you always have been. You were often found assisting with a multitude of mythical creatures and humans on quests and as companions. Despite your small stature, you were fast, zipping, and gliding faster than most could ever dare to catch up with.
You loved your wings, loved flying, loved having the wind whistling through your ears while you dove between branches and branches, laughing while your pixie friends failed to keep up with you. Your mother had always fluttered her wings in annoyance and partial anger when you were younger and would often outspeed her, leaving her screaming your name while she desperately tried to keep up.
What could you say? You were a daring fairy, an adventurous one at that too.
But she always warned you, even back then, of the dangers of being a small, tiny, pretty fairy who flew at speeds much faster than you should be capable of.
The wind whipped against your face, stinging at your nose, chapping your lips, and whooshing through your ears as you grew faster and faster. The traces of magic falling from your wings creating a beautiful, sparkling trail behind you as you whooped out in excitement and thrill.
“Slow down, y/n!” your friends screamed from what sounded like many trees behind you, and like the daring showoff you were, you cork spiraled around a set of hanging branches with a loud laugh.
But as you straightened out, ready to move onward, you realized that something, thick, heavy, and sticky had caught onto the tip of your wing, and you catapulted backward.
A spider’s web.
Even in a world of fantasy and mystery, spiders existed to catch flying pests, and to some, you were just that.
Panic consumed you, white fire coursing through every magical vein in your body as you thrashed and shook in the webs. Your hands grabbed onto the sticky strands around your wings, a desperate attempt to free yourself only to find yourself even more tightly wound up in the damp, near-transparent threads.
A pathetic whimper left your mouth, your head dropping to your chest as silent, hot tears streamed down your cheeks. Your wings fluttered weakly, looking nothing too far from the insects and flies you were so used to seeing caught up in these webs. You strained your ears, trying to listen to the few pixies you had been flying and playing with, but even with your immense speed advantageous over them, you knew that they should be near.
But nothing.
You sat there on the web for minutes that seemed to bleed into hours, silently waiting for your friends to come and save you… but it seemed for naught.
“Help…”
“Help…”
“Please help…”
You had been trapped for hours.
Each passing second both dooming you to a life as spider food for the Arachne that had still yet to return home. Or maybe possibly a snack for any large creature that may pass, or an undeserving elf or human plucking you free and demanding to use their powers on a quest you would never approve of. That, or maybe you’d die of hunger.
There was no stopping the growl in your stomach or the parched dryness of your throat for your desperate, pathetic cry of help.
But it seemed that when your friends not-your-friends anymore said this part of the forest was for the most part void of all pixie and fairy eating creatures, it seemed that it was just void of all creatures. Pouting, you felt another rush of frustrating tears well up in your eyes, your cheeks huffing and face steaming as soft chimes of bells erupted from you while you seemingly threw a temper tantrum, not one-second closer from freedom.
Your breathing turned sharper, heavier, and overall shallow. In a flash of fury, you thrummed your wings as fast as you could, trying your best to fly out of this entrapment. To your slight excitement, you managed to loosen the webs around your wings for just a moment, your smile bursting oh so prematurely onto your face before it all went wrong again. As if the web was alive as well, it seemed to suddenly stiffen and drag you back into its sticky confines only for you to be even more trapped onto the mass web.
Like a broken dam, the tears streaming down your face were stinging, plentiful, and unable to stop.
You mourned the end of your life like this, so pathetic, so absolutely stupid way to go: caught on a spiderweb.
“Now, now, little one, why are you crying?” came a voice so soft yet incredibly loud voice, and you stiffened straight despite having a potential savior.
You couldn’t see them, and with how the web was wrapped around you, you couldn’t even dare to turn your head around to stare at them. You couldn’t look at him, sure, but you knew just through the tenor and low thunder of his voice that your potential savior or wolf in sheep’s clothing was undoubtedly a robust, powerful mythological creature.
Despite the way his voice seemed to whisper in your ears, you heard the familiar noise of someone moving through the grounds of the forest. The fallen dead leaves that scattered on the floor crackling with his movement. You trembled although you didn’t make a noise, not even a small bell chime of your wings.
“Are you in need of assistance, little one?” he continued to ponder as if blind to the was you oh so very not discreetly clammed up at the sudden sound of his voice. “If you so require it, I would be more than willing to assist you in your freedom. It pains me to see such a beautiful, full of potential little fairy go to waste.”
The tongue in your mouth felt pathetically dry, your chest rising and collapsing at incredible speeds for someone of your composition of size.
“Oh, are you fearful of me, little one?” he seemed to laugh, finding your fear to be humorous, comical, really. “Most individuals at least wait until they peer into my eyes to find themselves unwilling to move or speak.”
The web shook with the vibrations of his voice. And you whined at the back of your throat as that small fact merely confirmed the size of the male creature standing behind you. You found yourself fearful of that playful tone on his voice, but you also knew that as a tiny fairy, you were quite foolish in fear when found in predicaments such as this one. You had to trust the creature behind you should you wish to escape.
“W-Would you mind freeing me?” you asked, making an attempt to sound powerful and in control despite the tremor on your lower lip and the way your voice was near childish in comparison to his own. How you actually thought fairies sounded on the same pitch as to many creatures before was beyond you, for at the moment, you deemed yourself to be no greater than a child speaking to an old man. “I was trapped while racing, and well, these frisky spiderwebs are quite the worst at capturing things that don’t deserve to be captured.”
Oh? Is that so?” his voice chuckled. His body, without a doubt, moments from yours if the way the gentle breath of his laugh brushed against your neck had anything to say about it. “I’ve always been told that they’re especially good at capturing pests.”
You flustered.
“Yet here we are!” you pathetically countered, your wings fluttering in your distress. “If you wouldn’t mind freeing me, I would greatly appreciate it!”
“But, of course,” he spoke with great pride, and you shuddered when warm, large finger seemed to easily scoop you out from the webs. Your wings fluttered when the tight restraints of the traps were done, but not entirely freed from your beautiful wings. “Relax your wings, little one, I know you’re antsy to move, but there are still a great number of leftover webs on those wings of yours. Relax, I promise you no harm as I take these webs off.”
You shivered as his warm, strong fingers worked the plenty of sticky strands of webs off of you as if they were nothing but flyaway thread used for clothing. Speaking of clothing, you peered down at the daisy and red dandelion seed dress you wore, your eyes wide with the hope that it hadn’t been ruined. You loved this outfit. But as you peered down at your cotton shoes, you froze when you finally took in the hand you were resting upon.
It was huge.
Without a doubt, his palm was the size of your entire body, the fingers long and thick with intimidating claws that demanded a bit of concern.
“There, all done,” he hummed, and you shook your wings, looking at the thing iridescent wings that made you a fairy, and you felt him turn his hand around where you rested. Your eyes, already wide with the looming dread in your stomach, seemed to become saucers the size of the moon when you came face to face with a naga.
Nagas, half-snake half-human, were a few creatures in this world that were both loved and hated by others — your kind included.
His scales were black, glinting red under the setting copper sun, and he was absolutely massive. You had seen nagas only a handful of times, three to be honest, but each other those times, you knew that they were hardly more massive than humans. But this male naga before you was enormous as he was solid. Rippling muscles on every exposed part of his human body and his snake bottom were large, thick, full of rippling coiling muscles that could probably strangle anyone who attempted to fight him. He had full, spikey red hair, scars on his arms, and one splitting his eyebrow. His red, slitted eyes seemed vast, cunning, and terrifying while he lifted you up to eye level. And his smile, oh his smile. Jagged, sharp teeth with lips pulled into a cunning, just a bit too sweet smile.
Naga, for the most part, were peaceful creatures. They were strong fighters, fierce protectors, all due to the fact that they were just so much larger than their co-inhabititors of the world, but they were peaceful. They slithered about most of the year, helping those who came and went, but there were moments in the year where they were of concern.
During the late spring, early summer, they were hit with their heats and ruts. Powerful naga soon filled with the lusting, overwhelming desire to shove their fertile eggs into anything that would hold them. Nagas, who mated with nagas, were known to have wrestled as their mating dance, almost wiping out many towns in their horny, hot desires, and you froze suddenly feeling the thick waves of heat coming off the naga before you.
“W-Well, thank you!” you stammered, your body bowing lowly for the naga before you whose splitting smile was becoming stamped in your brain. “I appreciate you freeing me, but I must go now. Supper is waiting for me!”
“What’s your name, little one?” the naga instead asked, his clawed finger caressing your cheek so softly, so accurately, you nearly thought he was set on taking off your head. “I would like to know the name of the beautiful fairy I saved today.”
There was power in knowing names in this world, fairy names especially, so you couldn’t help the pit that formed in your stomach on account to this, or the way fear stimulated every cell in your body.
“I-I can’t um, I can’t tell you,” you whimpered when his thick, large finger hooked underneath your chin to raise your head.
“Ah, it’s okay, little one, I promise I won’t do you wrong,” he promised, the lure in his voice — an advantage that nagas held in their times of heat. His voice was a warm blanket, smoothly pulling your eyes closed, making your wings flutter in your lulling excitement. “You can trust me.”
“Trust… you?” you spoke, mimicking his words, feeling like you were swimming in a warm, gooey honey trap. You bit down on your lower lip, heat rushing to your face as you stared upon his still cunning, sly grin as he traced his massive finger down from your wet, pouty lower lip to your hip. “I don’t… I can’t stay for longer?”
“Is that a question on your tone, little one?” he asked, his forked tongue flicking through his pointed teeth. “Can’t you stay? I have a favor to ask of you.”
A heavy, pitchy moan broke through your mouth as the tip of his claw dragged from your navel to your suddenly blistering core. Were you always this wet? How did you get so wet?
“But I…” you struggled to think, your eyes shut tightly, face twisting as you tried to figure out where you were needed right now. “I need to go… somewhere?”
“Somewhere?” he asked, voice light, buttery smooth. “I thought you were coming with me?”
“I… was?”
“Yes, little one, look at me,” he kissed the air, and you found your eyes pressing open, your jaw dropping when his piercing red eyes hypnotizing you. “Open those pretty little legs for me, I want to see if you’re fit enough to be my dam, my mate.”
Why that sent bubbling gasps from your tongue and sent your legs apart was beyond you, but it just seemed like the right thing to do. He had called you his mate… his dam.
His finger shoved between your legs, gently rubbing the massive finger that was probably nearly your height between your legs, catching onto your clit, sending resonating, shaking mewls from your throat. You collapsed forward, hips rutting back against his finger, your tiny fingers holding onto his knuckles, your eyes fluttering in this euphoria.
It felt so good.
So good, so good, “please more!”
You sobbed at the feeling of his finger coming up to allow more friction between you and your throbbing cunt, the bone of his knuckle-dragging so deliciously, so roughly against your throbbing clit that you started to feel weak in your knees.
“Call me Kirishima,” he growled, his finger flipping underneath you so that the pad of his finger could now press onto your clit, gathering your dripping slick as he does so. “Kirishima Eijirou.”
“Ei,” you spluttered, eyes barely open to watch the way his slitted pupils were dilated with his lust, the smell he was emitting without a doubt one of an alpha male plunging further within his rut. “This feels so good, please give meeeEE ahhh, oh god, give me more!”
Kirishima growled out a peal of chilling laughter, one that had your wings fluttering in their heavy, lucid attempt to fly and kiss the man that could swallow your entire body as if you were nothing more than a potato chip to him. You keened, one of your hands shakily removing themselves from his finger, stretching out to him.
“Kiss me, please kiss me,” you beg, your heaving breathes almost in synch with your wildly bucking hips.
“You want a kiss?” he hummed, bringing your tiny body close enough to tease you, but not near enough for you to plant a desperate, small kiss to his smooth, curling large lips. “Promise me two things.”
“Anything,” you promised, watching as his forked tongue flashed between his teeth, his eyes flashing with his shaking control on the situation. Your cheeks scorched at the sight of him wanting you just as badly as you wanted him. The dam in you jittering at the knowledge that he was a good mate, a good person by holding back, trying to keep his control before giving in. But you wanted him as deep as you were. You wanted to feel his finger intruding your clenching, spasming walls, to try and take on his undoubtedly huge cock.
You wanted to try it.
You wanted him.
“Anything you want, I will give you!” you shriek with promise, your clit feeling numb from the overstimulation and lack of release as you could not reach it without penetration.
“Your name,” Kirishima growled, his lips dangerously close. “And promise to carry my — our children.”
“I promise, I promise, I promise!” you frantically claim, knowing you would do it all just for his lips against yours, and finally, he was close enough, his bottom lip nearly the size of your entire face as you kissed him again and again.
His lips were pursed, allowing your frantic kisses to have lain all over his awaiting soft lips. You shuddered at the electric sensation coursing through you with every second, and your wings fluttered in your excitement, bringing you up into the air, lifting you off his palm.
“Your name?” he commanded, the hand you abandoned running a taloned finger down the spine of your back, pleasantly, orgasmically feeling as he reached the spot between your sensitive wings. You loved the feeling and keened against his mouth.
“Y/l/n y/n!”
“And you will have my children?”
“Yes!”
A possessive, all encompassing cross between a growl and a hiss slipped through his lips, and you looked down with your lust dipped eyes to see the two, twisted cocks he was rutting into his free hand. You cried at the fact that it wasn’t your cunt the sharp, near hook looking tip of his cock wasn’t ramming into.
“Where do you think you’re going, little one?” Kirishima snarked, his eyes bright and humorous as he caught you by your wings. You moaned loudly at the lusting pull of your wings that you could feel pulsing into your core. “You’re not ready for my cock or eggs just yet.”
“But I wanna…” you cry, fingers stretching out toward the two writhing cocks that seemed to call your name. “I wanna try!”
“Shh, shh,” he cooed, his hand that was not occupied with his massive cocks releasing your wings and gently stroking your face. “It’s okay, it’s okay, you can try in a bit. I just don’t want my little one splitting in half before she’s been made useful!”
Your pouting and mouthwatering person turned to face Kirishima again, whose once red eyes were completely black in his rutting lust.
“Split in half?” you echoed, a slight pain pinching your pussy, the thought of being split in two for those cocks not quite as horrendous as it should be. “Will I be?”
“Not if you stretch yourself out first,” Kirishima corrected, entirely missing your slight hope to be torn in half by his cock. “I want to see you fuck yourself on my finger at first. Do that, and I’ll let you sit on my cock and birth my eggs.”
A chill ran down your back, and you nodded, suddenly more than willing to throw yourself onto anything he would give you to prove yourself. And with his free hand, he presented his long ring finger whose talon was missing, most likely gone from some sort of battle.
But it didn’t matter. It was enough for you to prove yourself.
Fluttering over to his finger, you dropped the small panties you owned onto his exposed palm before placing your sopping cunt right above his extended finger. You lowered yourself onto the tip, spreading your essence slick against his skin, your eyes unabashedly half-lidded as you watched the muscles in his arm pick up speed as you made eye contact with the excited naga.
And with a twirl of your hips and a moan that vibrated straight through your chest, you sank onto his finger.
It truly did feel like his splitting you in half. You recognized immediately at the way your walls nearly couldn’t keep up with how he opened you up. His finger was already giant within your spongey, tight walls. The heat and the callouses of his appendage unreplicable as you silently screamed, your walls spasming tightly around him, an orgasm taking you out without warning. You heaved, exhaustion ticking your brain as the soft bounces you made to further his finger up your cunt making you whine. He was huge, his finger huge. But you liked the fullness it brought you, the way you struggled not to send yourself flying off his finger like some rocket while you continued to fuck yourself against him.
You could do it, you could do it.
Soft wet noises filled the air as Kirishima’s aggressive stroking of his leaking cocks, and the way his finger seemed to be so loud in your tight cavern filled the forest.
More, give him more.
Pressing the collar of your outfit down, your legs wrapped around his finger as you continued to fuck yourself up and down his finger while your hands groped and pinched at your breasts, your eyes rolling back in your horny excitement. You could feel your orgasm growing again. You could tell by the clenching quivering of your spongey, velvet walls against his finger that you were close yet again.
“Fuck, little one, you’re taking my finger so well,” Kirishima sang in his praise, his snake tail coiling and thrashing wildly beneath the both of you, and you longed to feel the snake scales beneath your blazing core too. “Are you ready for my cock? I’m so close, so close. You made me like this, little one, so fucking hot, so sexy, fuck.”
You mewl loudly, your body well aware of the lewd scene he was creating with the way he wrangled his twin cocks in his hand. Your head dropped backward, a high pitched wail shooting through you when his finger moved within you, and you nodded your head as quickly as you could. Your legs relaxing around him as Kirishima quickly picked you off his finger, and without even three seconds of being empty again, two sharp, writhing cocks slammed within your cunt.
You staggered against his hold, body convulsing at the feeling of his snake cock flicking and twirling within your womb, stimulating the puffy, wet walls that were erratically beating, as the both of you came with loud, joint moans.
White filled your vision as your wet juices splattered down his cock, and the weirdest, almost constipating feeling filled you as solid, cold, and round objects filled your womb. Making the drool in your mouth dribble down the corner of your mouth as your eyes crossed.
One.
Two.
Three.
Four eggs.
Four eggs for you to grow, four kids you would have with Kirishima, and you sobbed in elation.
“I can feel them, Ei!” you sobbed, content with the babies he just gave you, already expanding your tiny little stomach to the optimal length it could reach. “Our babies!”
Kirishima chuckled, removing your from his cock and placing your pregnant little tiny body onto his shoulder, a sign that he would protect you through anything and everything.
“I can’t wait until they hatch, little one.”
And with that, he nuzzled against your face. And you vibrated in your happiness, more than willing to take on the world as Kirishima continued forward in the world. There was no looking back now.

I’ve been reading isekai manhua so have a free AU idea.
Marinette is in her first year of lycee. Her “part-time job” is stressful and she rarely sees her friends because they’re mostly on different academic tracks. It’s lonely but at least she’s free of Chloe and Lila. Mostly. Still, she misses Alya.
Her cousin in London sends her a digital copy of a game she and her friends created, along with the DLC! It’s about a generic girl who was born to be the avatar of a god and becomes a princess after fending off rivals and winning over the prince. It’s pretty engaging but there’s a lot of tedious fetch quests and she falls asleep playing it.
When she wakes up she’s Camelia Dowling-Chalmers and the prince looks like Adrien! The king is Gabriel Agreste and her main rival at court is...
Dammit. Lila.
The annoying side character is now claiming to be the avatar of a god as well and performs miracles to prove it. The lords and ladies of the court, who had previously been on Camelia’s side are swayed to the newcomer and beg the king to cancel Camelia’s engagement to the prince and marry him off to Lady Lillian.
The prince doesn’t even try to defend his fiancee, or plead with his father on her behalf. Instead, he just sits there and looks from Camelia to Lillian to his father without a word.
The king asks Camelia if has anything to say for herself. Marinette knows something similar happened in the game and she had to spend hours gathering rare herbs, mining for gems and begging a hard to find sage to teach her magic. What to do?
Walk out.
This is a weird dream but still a dream and thus under her control. She tells the king if he wants to break the engagement she’ll take everything he promised to give her and go home. She calls the prince spineless and she hates spineless people.  She tells Lillian she’s probably a fake but not her problem. The kingdom deserves her if they’re all a bunch of sheep.
Head held high, she leaves and takes a few carriages full of her belongings with her.
Do you want bandits? Because that’s how you get bandits.
The bandits plan to rob her and sell her to a rich old man as a bride but she’s saved by the mysterious adventurer knows as “The Red Blade”, who takes her to meet the prince and princess of the Naga People.
Turns out the Kingdom of Agreste was stolen twenty years ago from the Naga Queen, Nanarchy, and her children live in exile after their mother was turned to stone. They live in a hidden village in the woods and tell “Camelia” they can escort her home when they have the chance, which will take weeks to organize.
In the meantime she offers her services as a seamstress and uses the betrothal gifts the prince gave her to outfit everyone in new clothes. This earns her friends among the rebels, like Sir Ivan and Dame Rose.
Lucas and his sister Julia are wonderful people and while it’s not love at first sight, Camelia quickly becomes friends with him. He’s kind, loving, protective and fierce; a good leader and champion. She could see falling for someone like him.
Prince Adrien is hurt that Camelia rejected him and quickly begins to miss her. The court realizes how much she did for them and loudly complain that Lady Lillian does little but idle all day and get pampered. Lillian is annoyed Camelia has suddenly become more popular and even the king is thinking of mounting an expedition to bring her back. Well, that would ruin everything.
Marinette as Camelia is having a relaxing time getting to know her new friends. Lucas is everything the prince is not and she can’t believe she saw him as “perfect”. This is a dream, so maybe her subconscious is trying to tell her something?
Meanwhile, people across Paris are suddenly falling asleep. Not a lot, but some of the more prominent citizens, like the Mayor and M. Agreste cannot be woken. Doctors say they seem fine but according to brain scans are deeply in REM sleep.
Ladybug and Chat Noir are no where to be found but neither is Hawk Moth or an akuma.
What is going on?

The Secret Life of MDC | Part 6
Part 6: Just let them fall
Part 01 | 02 | 03 | 04 | 05
Note: If you had read the original version on my website, I totally did not rewrite this entire part just to avoid a fight scene.
The mission was simple: save the two idiot exchange students that don’t have any common sense. It was a frustrating task to even track them down. Base on the footage from security cameras and likely villains who are crazy enough to start drama, it is very likely that the dumb and dumber are safe but being hold over a pot of acid, fire, or water will killer animals. Who knows?
“You know, they just have given us an excuse to bring the Gotham miraculous crew back into action,” Andrena says as her bee-like wings flutter to life. Her eyes narrowly focus on anything strange.
To Gotham, Andrena is equivalent to Paris’ Melitta Bee (Chloe’s new alias once she was inducted back onto the team). Every member of Paris’ MT has a Gotham counterpart. For Ladybug it was Ladybird, for Chat Noir it was Lykoi. Then for the two missing members Viperion and Ryoku, there was Python and Naga. The only difference two their styles are more realistic and less magical.
“There is no time for play, Bee.” Ladybird walks out from the shadows, the current boy wonder walking behind her. She crosses her arms and lets out a heavy sigh. “As long as we are active in the fight any damage the two may endure could be undone. You know how I hate to bring out the team.” Everyone could see the tiredness behind the red and black mask that lies in her bluebell eyes.
“Tt. They deserve whatever comes their way.” Robin scoffs. From the corner of his eyes, he could see his siblings joining them on the roof. “What did you find?” This question wasn’t pointed to anyone directly, but they all knew there was one person with the answers.
“Red Robin—” Lykoi lowkey hums ‘Yum’ much to everyone dismay “—has appointed Oracle as our eyes, and together that have determined that the two missing students are located in one of five potential areas.”
“That does not help our case, Wing.” Nightwing would never admit it but a glaring Ladybird is a dangerous Ladybird.
Silence followed as everyone thinks of something.
“Do we have to save them? They just made this worse on everybody.” It was Lykoi’s voice that surprisingly states this. Everyone turns to the cat theme hero with wide eyes. “What?”
“Normally under typical Paris standards, I would say no, but do to the fact that we are in Gotham and my job is on the line, I am legally obligated to say yes.” Ladybird pulls out her communicator and turns it on. “Everyone’s logged on.” A series of nods, groans, and yeses. “Good RR, what’s the plan?”
“Yes, but you’re not going to like it,” Red Robin could hear the impending groaning coming his way and he is not wide awake enough for this.
Which lead the Miraculous Team and the Bats to be split across Gotham searching for the two exchange students.
Ladybird and Robin’s location was empty. Nothing unusual about the location it was just an unused warehouse.
“I hate them.”
“Them being everyone or the two the idiots.”
“What do you think?”
Robin shakes his head and lets out a hefty sigh.
Lykoi and Nightwing’s location proved to be difficult to find. At first, that thought this was the place, but both heroes vigilantes were proven wrong.
“We both agree not to tell Ladybird.”
“Agree, she would kill us.”
“I heard that.” It wasn’t Ladybird’s voice that came through the comms. It was Oracle’s. “Don’t worry I won’t tell Birdie.”
Lykoi and Nightwing share a glance. It was better to be blackmailed by Oracle than be grilled by Ladybird—well that what they think anyway.
For Andrena and Red Robin, it was more of a battle of wits and smarts between the two. Actually, more on Red Robin than with Andrena (she didn’t want to be a partner with Red Hood).
“You better hope that one of the others found this fucking warehouse or I will kill you myself. These boots were expensive.” Andrena shrieks pointing to the mud that now lays pack on her boots.
“Yeah, yeah, I’ll make it up to you.”
Andrena rolls her eyes and opens her communicator, Red Robin does the same. However, the outcome was different for the two. On Red Robin’s feed, it was static, he quickly goes into work to scramble the information given. Andrena sees a message from Red Hood.  It reads, “Found it, suckers!”
“Hood found the warehouse.” Andrena places her communicator back on her person and looks to Red Robin. She could see the invisible sweat and sleep on his face through the cowl. “Let’s go.”
RR lets out a frustrating sigh, but as he types a last-minute code into his device the static slowly turns into quality footage. Not high quality but enough pinpoint what is happening. The room is dark but there is an ominous green glow at the lower half of the screen.
“Shit,” RR murmurs through it was loud enough to catch Andrena’s attention as an electric blue glow begins to grow behind her.
“What?” It was breathless yet concerning. Behind her, the portal fully develops causing her to let out a low growl and pushing RR in the direction of their “ride”. “Just explain it to the others.”
The portal closes and the first person they are meet by is a somewhat disappointing Ladybird.
“Hey Buggy,” Andrena sheepishly smiles, better throw RR under the bus, “RR found something interesting. Check it out.”
Ladybird makes her way over to the bee and the third Robin, she eyes RR practically asking him the question, “what he found”. Everyone waits with bated breaths as he shows her the footage. This time unlike the awkward murky background, it shows Lila and Alya tied together on a mini platform that is slowly lowering to the ominous glow below them.
“Is it sad that I want to see them fall.” The ladybug theme hero sighs into her glove-cover hands. “Alright, we need a game plan. Hood, what did you find?”
“There is a tunnel beneath the building. There’s no exterior access.”
“Oracle is sending us a blueprint.” Red Robin adds to which Nightwing nods and checks in his own portable monitor. Robin tsks and crouches down on the ground.
The planning process to a good minute to formulate.
“Is everyone in position?” The question ran through everyone’s coms as their trained bodies wait patiently for the cue. The Questioner (most likely Ladybird or Nightwing) took their silence as an answer. “Let’s go.”
The vigilantes are immediately greeted by darkness.
“Argh, my hair!” All movement ceased to exist. The Miraculous Team automatically knew that screech. It was Lila’s. “Please, I promise Bruce Wayne will make your life worthwhile. I’m very good friends with him.” Everyone, aside from Robin, felt a shiver go down their spines. Robin had gagged at the thought of Lila, his girlfriend’s tormentor, being friends with his father.
“Are you sure we can’t kill her?” Red Hood asks, well more like stated but everyone knows what he meant. He didn’t receive an answer.
“Better yet, who’s the person that decided to capture the two. There are only two heat signatures in the building.” Tim fiercely types against his device.
Nightwing kicks down the door. The large thud grabs the two teens' attention.
“We’re saved.” Lila cries out in delight. Her face literally brightens much to everyone (aside from Alya’s) dismay.
“Yes, I can finally get that interview just like you said, gurl.” Alya squeals her body wiggling on the platform.
Robin staggers in his footsteps. Interview? Like you said? Something isn’t adding up.
“Are you girls okay?” Nightwing typically heroic voice shines through as Red Robin rushes to what he believes to be the controls for the platform.
“No! We’re tied together, slowly moving to our deaths.” Alya shouts, “Ladybug?”
“Uh... no, I’m Ladybird. Now hold still.” Balancing herself on the platform in front of the two, she pulls out a knife and quickly goes cuts to the first layers of rope. “We’re the villain?”
“He was getting something to surprise us.” Lila’s voice squeaks a little. Everyone pulls back to face Lila, not including Alya.
“What do you mean?” Robin fakes a cough and glares at the Italian girl.
“No, no,” Lila begins to sweat. Her mind running multiple scenarios to get out of this. “We have no idea where he went. It was pitch black for us.” Tears forms in her eyes. Alya tries to comfort her bestie but couldn’t due to their bindings.
“Red Hood, stay on high alert, Lykoi, Andrena, follow his lead.” Ladybird cuts through the final rope. Alya shuffles her feet to get away…
“Ah!” The reporter’s foot slips.
“Merde,” Ladybird deadpans and lets herself fall.
Her right arm wrap around Alya’s waist as her left grabs for the yo-yo. It was a split second; her feet did touch the unknown substance in the large pool. She was expecting a burning sensation, but nothing happens.
“What the hell, RR, get off the control and test out the substance.” Ladybird safely places Alya down on the concrete flooring. Nightwing and Robin run over to the two for different reasons. Robin pulls Ladybird into his arms and checks for any injury while Nightwing does the same for Alya. The ombre haired girl is visibly shaking.
Lila remains on the platform above the pool screeching her head off. Andrena could already sense a headache forming and flies up to the platform. “Venom!”
Lila freezes, her screaming ceases to exist.
Rather than pushing Lila off the platform (the temptation was very luring), Andrena wraps an arm around the liar and flies to the ground floor. Suppressing a shiver, she pushes the girl out of her arms and into Lykoi’s much to his dismay.
“Seriously?” Lykoi’s glare said it all.
“I have informed Oracle that we found the missing students. She informed me that the GPD eta is ten minutes.”
“Good, that will give us time to search the premises for anything odd.” Nightwing states.
“Way ahead of you,” Red Hood shouts from afar. Eyes rolls but they all shrug in the end.
“What do you mean there weren’t any prints or such leading to the student’s kidnapper?” Commissioner Gordon asks, well he yelled but his face isn’t red yet, as the faces the Bats (aside from the large bat himself) and the Miraculous Team.
“What he meant to say, was that nothing in this warehouse suggested that there was third person let alone a typical Gotham’s villain.”
“So, you're saying this was an act?”
“No, I don’t think all of it was an act?”
“Hmm… This isn’t going to go well with explaining this to GA’s headmistress.”
Ladybird might as well say goodbye to her life and curl next to Robin in her final moments. If this was just a fake, Lila and anyone who was involved with this plan of hers are in for a treat and she’ll have front row access to it.
“Just make sure that girls are returned to GA safely, Gordon,” Nightwing instructs, they knew what he was going for. It was to them out of her and on patrol—well some of them at the very least.
~*~
Marinette curls into Damian’s chest, looking at the screen in front of them. After a night like that she didn’t want to think about the consequences that the liar had unleashed.
“You okay?” Damian presses his lips against her forehead, their hands intertwine fighting for dominance.
Marinette doesn’t say anything. How could she? There was so much floating around her mind that she couldn’t place what she was feeling at the moment.
They stay in silence until a loud thud disrupts the environment.
“Bad news,” Dick and the rest of the family file in. “Rossi confessed to the kidnapping being a ploy.”
“Goddammit, there went my morning and quite possibly my entire week.” Marinette groans collapsing next to Damian and covering her face with her hand.
“Well it’s not liked your exchange program can get any worse. You have like three weeks left of it anyway.” Jason shrugs trying to make the mood lighter… it didn’t help.
“Not now, Jaybird,” Marinette growls, causing the hairs on the back of everyone’s neck to raise high. It was rare to see Marinette angry and Lila has done the impossible. Kwami may help in the morning, especially when Marinette doesn’t get her coffee.

Seeing the Sumia breakdown reminded me no one asked about Chrom, so... Chrom character breakdown so the whole trio is together? :D
You know what, you’re right, we do need the whole trio together
How do I feel about this character?
He’s just.  So amazing.  I didn’t go into Awakening completely blind, but I had no idea what Chrom was really like when I started, and within basically five minutes I knew that I wanted to marry him.  (This was a problem because I went with the beanpole on my first run and was playing the game straight, meaning I had no gay romance options; I consider this a travesty and it may have contributed to Future Built).  I showed a friend of mine the opening movies, and when we got to the one with Chrom and Lissa, right after Chrom helped Robin up off the ground and smiled she said, entirely unprompted, “I feel like I’m being seduced.”
And what’s so amazing about him is that it’s entirely uncalculated.  He’s not trying to charm people, he just has that way about him: he’s open and earnest and wants to help people, even if that means getting into dangerous situations -- and on top of that, he wants to trust people even if he’s told he shouldn’t.  He and Lissa might make fun of Frederick and his wariness, but honestly the man has a point; the fact that Chrom would rather let Frederick watch his back for him and give people the benefit of the doubt, rather than letting that mindset infect him and distrusting strangers, is so heartening to me, and one of the many things I really do love about him.
He’s also flawed, though: he’s by no means a perfect person, and is susceptible to doubt and anger both.  Even if the game doesn’t give it the attention it deserves he has conflicting legacies that he’s trying to measure himself against: his father the warmonger, who he doesn’t want to be like but fears he’s becoming...and his sister the pacifist, who he wants to live up to but fears he’ll never manage.  It makes a fascinating internal character conflict and helps round him out further into his own person, rather than being just another generic blue-haired Lord.
Who do I ship this character with romantically?
ROBIN.  From day one it has always been Robin, because the entire game revolves around the bond between these two people.  Even if you don’t marry Chrom, the fact is that he and Robin trust one another implicitly, such that Lucina’s herself knows that the person he trusted most in the world took his life; she might not immediately put the pieces together, but it speaks volumes for their relationship.  And honestly, the way it’s built, especially in the M!Robin supports, is so incredible: the trust and care between these two people who want to help each other and who can and do rely on one another is incredible, and makes a rock solid foundation for romance down the line.  They’re just amazing together and I love it.
Also I wholeheartedly ship him with Sumia because she’s wonderful and brings an entirely different set of skills and outlooks to the table that I think can and would be very useful to the halidom as it continues to grow under Chrom’s watch.  And yes, it’s improved 5,000% when he’s with both Sumia and Robin together (because I stand by my OT3).
Who is my brOTP for this character?
Sully, hands down.  I’m pretty sure in their supports they talk about how they’ve known each other since they were kids, and I really love the idea of these two growing up together, training together, becoming super tight as friends and being constantly ready to have each other’s backs.  Sully also makes a fantastic wingman for Chrom, let’s be real here.  Vaike is another that I really enjoy, because the idea of them having this friendly rivalry where they’re constantly sparring and trying to one-up each other is really fun.  Having them be just a chaos trio together is one of my favorite things and I really need to find a place to put that in because it’s arguably hilarious to think about Chrom getting terrible advice for how to flirt with someone from Vaike and getting smacked upside the head later by Sully after failing spectacularly with it.
What’s my Unpopular Opinion™ about this character?
He’s really not that dumb, you guys.  Fandom loves to play up that one line from Gaius’ support with Olivia about Chrom eating an unpeeled orange (which may not even be true, it could have just been Gaius trying to make Olivia laugh), and conflating it with the idea that he’s dumb as a box of rocks.  There is very little that frustrates me more than the whole “moronsexual” joke that runs around fandom with regards to him and Robin, and it’s just not fair to Chrom as a person.  He’s not an idiot: he can do dumb things, like most people, but he is also a very capable and considerate person, and an accomplished fighter: if he were really as stupid as fandom likes to play up, he’d have been dead before getting any kind of proficiency with a sword.  Just because he can lose focus and mess up doesn’t mean that he’s a hopeless idiot.
What’s one thing I wish would have happened with this character in canon?
Okay so this is probably weird but I honestly wish that he’d tried to talk to Grima in the end.  Most of the conversation after Validar’s death at the Dragon’s Table is between Robin and Grima, and the final battle starts with the call to arms rather than any attempt to engage with the Fell Dragon; basically Chrom writes Grima off as unreachable and a force that needs to be destroyed based solely on Grima’s words, Lucina’s news of the future, and Naga’s insistence that it has to be done...even though Grima doesn’t actually hurt them at any point before the final battle.
Do you see how weird that is?  Grima could, logically, have gone ahead and shot Chrom through the heart with a Thoron at the Dragon’s Table, since they state flat-out that they were the one who killed Chrom in Lucina’s timeline and that they share the same Heart of Grima with Robin, so it arguably would have fulfilled the same purpose regardless of whose hand summoned the spell -- but they didn’t.  They talked a big game and the giant dragon came back but Chrom at no point took fire from Grima -- heck, even after raising the dragon form Grima lets them go, flying off past Origin Peak and letting them parley with Naga.
Considering the fact that Chrom made an attempt to talk Walhart into a laying down his arms and forging an alliance, and willingly engaged twice with Validar in good faith (once after the events at Port Ferox, once after returning in hopes of acquiring Sable), it seems bizarre to me that he wouldn’t do the same with Grima.  He’s been trying so hard to hold true to his sister’s virtues of peace, of trying to talk rather than going immediately to arms the way his father would have, that it feels like he’s backsliding in the final battle when his quote facing Grima in combat is literally “I come to end you.”  I just wish he’d remembered Emmeryn’s ways in that moment, and at least tried; even if it failed like it did with Walhart, it would have been a powerful reminder that he’s still trying to live up to the best influence in his life.

Half your tags about Camilla are slut shaming her and calling her a bad character. Shows you’ve read and paid 0% attention to her character lmaoo
1 - whatever you read must be ancient. My opinion changed throughout the time. Not playing fates for good 6 years and FEH not forcing her on us 3x a year made a huge impact. I could see her through my friends' eyes and it helped.
2 - I didn't read many of her supports, I will admit that. Why? Because intsys made me so disgusted by her presentation in the shared moments (I main Hoshido) that my opinion of her emerged as you saw in whatever tags you saw. And I will stand by the opinion it was well deserved. The hug cutscene, oh sweet naga...
3. As much as you love her, you can't deny obvious proofs she was deliberately designed to be that classic food for horny men. One of intsys managers or whatever openly called her to be a cow, the man I suspect to be behind all the ugly irrational female outfits in FE as of late (like FByleth). Her movement shouts "seduce", her outfit was imo originally something akin to Brave Camilla, then the managers came and said "No, remove this. Show more here. Make her a proper cow." And we got a wyvern rider in fricking panties if not thongs...
3. Having a sad backstory doesn't change anything about how unhealthy her attachement to Corrin is. It's obssesive, I've never heard anyone say yandere is a healthy mindset, as much as it is common in Japanese production. Admittedly, I've heard a surprising number of mutuals saying they view her behavior as motherly or admire her being a protective sister. I don't understand either. Maybe it's a cultural thing. Maybe somewhere it is actually a common behavior by motherly types but NOT here, ugh, no way (saying as a mother myself). As for ideal sister material, I'm prone to think that's how single children dream about the protective older sibling they never got. Stalking and obsession is often idealized by those deprived of feeling needed/protected/desired. But then you encounter it irl and its ugly. Trust me, also been there.
Bottom line: Nowdays I appreciate Camilla as viewed by her loving fans who focus on the healthy/hurt side and ommit the nasty stuff Intsys intentionally gave her. Perfect setting imo. But let's not pretend the nasty stuff was never there. Me and my husband literally say "it's the Camilla of this game" and we know exactly what it means.

Can you please rate the animals from atla and tlok? They are all really good and funky they deserve all the love in the world but i kind of want to know your thoughts on them
like you said, all the animals are funky lil guys and deserve all the love in the world. however, here’s an objective ranking:
bosco (just a bear): overall not bad but bosco,,,,, YA BASIC and also proof that ba sing se is Weird Af™. bonus points for the gaang’s reaction to finding out that he’s not a hybrid. added bonus point for cute sweater. did not deserve to be EATEN by kuei’s fascist daughter. 5/10.
polar bear dog: naga is the Goodest Girl of all time and deserves so many hugs. would commit murder for korra and honestly Good For Her. i would also commit murder for korra. unfortunately for naga, korra is more than willing to do her own murders. docking a point because her hind legs are really thin and they lowkey creep me out. sorry. 9/10
badger mole: more good boys!!! they trained toph and deserve lots of love and affection for that. also simped for prince wu and 10/10 i respect that. look soft, would ride them. terrifying but badass. 7/10
otter penguin: absolutely incredible character design. they look soft and i wish to boop their noses. also can ride on them. most importantly, they gave us the iconic “do you want to go penguin sledding with me?” line, and for that they get a 10/10
fire ferret: the FACE. the JUMPER. the FLUFFY LITTLE EARS. i want a pabu in my life and i want one now. they are soft and activate my Cuddle Instinct. I love fire ferrets with my whole heart. also pabu would die for bolin and so would i. he climbs in shirts and takes naps and for that he earns my ultimate respect. 11/10
flying lemur: nothing but the best for my boy MOMO. appears sweet but we all know he’s capable of being an axe-murderer if he so chooses. momo could have taken down the fire lord in 3 episodes flat. a true King right here. the only reason i’m ranking lemurs higher than fire ferrets are because of momo. 12/10
catgator: gives me the heebie jeebies. do not like. -4/10
miyuki (just a cat): also basic, but miyuki is wanted by the fire nation which implies that cats are badasses. we respect fascist-fighting cats. 6/10
saber-tooth moose lion: friend material. babies are soft and moms are protective. ideal animal buddy. will play with your boomerang. 8/10
turtle duck: good. soft. baby. they are small but they are filled with love. would absolutely die for a turtle duck. 20/10
flying bison: BEST BABIES. APPA. FLUFFY BOIS. ORIGINAL AIRBENDERS. FRIENDS FOR LIFE. THEY GO GRRRRMPPHHH TO COMMUNICATE. CAN NAP ON THEM. SHOWSTOPPING SPECTACULAR INCREDIBLE 100000000000/10

💭 - your choice
Simon
Vanilla!Rachel & Android!Simon
I love him. I love him so much. I could watch him smile forever. I could kiss his face for hours if he'd let me. I'd kill and die for him. I'd go to the ends of the world for him. I'd do anything if it meant making a better world for him to live in. I don't ever want to be without him. I want to spend the rest of my life by his side.
Vanilla!Rachel & Mer!Simon
He's so cute and so sweet. It's kinda nice having someone like him in the tank with everyone. He's more like me. And it's fun having someone I can tease and play with myself. Plus, he gives nice hugs and it's nice sleeping next to him.
Aquarium Siren!Rachel & Android!Simon
He's my friend! He understands me! He sees me! I don't have to pretend around him and he wants to stay with me. He makes me happy and I want to make him happy, too. I want to see him every day!
Delinquent!Rachel & Undercover Cop!Simon
He's got guts. I'd like to see him again. He's very fun to play with and tease. Cute, too! Wonder what he does for a day job.
Demon!Rachel & Fallen Angel!Simon
I hate him. I love him. I love fucking him. I love being fucked by him. He makes me confused. He makes me scared. He sets me on fire. I never want to be without him. I don't ever want to go back to a life without him. I don't care about anything else but him. I just want him. He's my angel and I'm his demon. God's not getting him back and I'm not Lucifer's bitch.
Yandere!Rachel & Homeless Human!Simon
He'll understand. Even if he never loves me, he will understand that I am the only one who can protect him. I'm the only one who can provide him everything he needs. He'll see. He'll see that the world is horrible and that I rescued from it. And he'll see that I love him. I love him more than anything and that I would kill and die for him if it meant protecting him from the world that's hurt and tortured him his whole life.
Naga!Rachel & Homeless Human!Simon
Men are cruel. I've seen it. To women, children, and other men. Though...it's not always men. Nevertheless, I've seen his wounds before. Less frequently, though it breaks my heart to see them at all. That as much as the world progresses and improves, some parts remain the same. And it saddens me that it's the uglier parts. But, my home is a safe haven for people like him. So, Simon has a home with me. With my people.
Guardian Angel!Rachel & Homeless Human!Simon
Poor thing...he was done so wrong in his life. But I'll be there for him. I'll help him find his own wings and soar. I'll be his guiding light. His star in the night. His friend...his home. Until he's strong enough to live without me...
Hybrid!Rachel & Hybrid!Simon
A bit odd, but a chill dude. Not as creepy as some of the predators I've met and not as aggro as some of the large prey I've met. I trust him. Hope he gets by okay.
Werewolf!Rachel & Vampire!Simon
He's sweet. And kind. And gentle. And so compassionate. I don't think I've ever met a vampire as nice as him and I'm not letting him go. He's my mate and part of my pack, now, and we've gotta look out for each other. And I love him. Wish he wouldn't pretend to throw the stick or film me in the bathtub, though...even though it is really funny.
Vampire!Rachel & Vampire!Simon
Respectable and understanding of the symbiotic relationship between humans and vampires. A true gentleman and a responsible sort. A worthy vampire. Though, I wished he had been more honest about his feelings, I'm so happy that he is honest, now. It was painful living knowing that he'd been neglected for so long. He deserves to be loved as fervently as the others.
Markus
Vanilla!Rachel & Android!Markus
I used to think of him as above me. Not as a person, but as some sort of judge. A vector for my sense of justice and morality and how that connected to my sense of self. I was so sure I was unworthy of even standing next to him. But now...? I can't imagine doing what I do without him by my side. No matter what, we do everything together. We're partners. And...I love him. For who he is. For everything that makes him...Markus.
Vanilla!Rachel & Pagan God!Markus
I never thought that praying to the void would actually get me an answer. But...weirdly enough, knowing that gods are real brings me a sense of peace. And that one is on my side and genuinely believes in me and wants to help is...nice. It's nice knowing some part of the universe has my back. So, I wanna have his. It's only fair. Besides, he makes for good company and a good houseguest. Easy on the eyes, too, so long as he doesn't break my brain. I think we could be good friends.
Vanilla!Rachel & Mer!Markus
I trust him with my life. He protected me. Kept me safe. Made sure I knew that nobody would hurt me as long as he was around and made sure that the others knew not to hurt me. And made sure I knew I was safe around him. And he's so gentle...so affectionate and loving. I'm gonna miss him whenever we get the hell out of this tank...
RK800!Rachel & Human Detective!Markus
I find him...peculiar. And fascinating. His curiosity and inquisitiveness is infectious, I think. He holds my attention. And he's kind. And...sincere, I think. I like him. Detective Manfred is a good man and a good detective and I value him as a partner. I like working with him and I hope I will be granted more opportunities to expand our professional and personal relationship.
Hybrid!Rachel & Hybrid!Markus
Smug son of a bitch thinks he can get in my pants with a cute little smirk and a playful charming personality and a sensitive artist persona and a sexy voice...well he can, and I'm mad about it. It's not fucking fair.
Naga!Rachel & Naga!Markus
He thinks he can fool me with his innocent act. He seems sincere, but I will not be fooled again by a naga who means to take that which I have guarded for centuries. We will see his true motives soon enough. If his heart truly is pure...he will likely move on and never see this place again...he is a traveler, after all.
Werewolf!Rachel & Werewolf!Markus
He's not an alpha, I don't think. But I feel like I would follow him wherever he went. Like I would do whatever he ordered me to. I don't know why, but I feel like I can trust him. He fought alongside me and didn't even expect a reward. I want to know him. To be close with him. I...I want to be a part of his pack.
Frontier!Rachel & Frontier!Markus
Mister Manfred is a good man. A bit cocky and polished, but a good man. Hard worker. Good craftsmanship. Sheriff Anderson's taken quite a liking to him and he stays for dinner a lot. Can't help but feel like maybe I'm letting him get too friendly with me. I can't say the competition's very appealing, though. Besides...he makes for good company. And he's a kind man. A very kind man...I hope he knows how to protect himself out on the streets.
Leo
Vanilla!Rachel & Mer!Leo
He's very sweet, but he's kinda intimidating. Though, it's not his fault and he's super gentle and careful with me. With everyone, actually. Which I really appreciate. Besides, even if he doesn't think so, he's nice to cuddle, too. And a very kissable face.
Trans!Rachel (Richard) & Human!Leo
I love him. I love him so much. I still feel so shitty that I didn't tell him I was a cop...I should have. But he still gave me another chance. He still let me in. I won't make him regret it. I swear. I'll be everything he deserves to have in a partner. He's too good for anything less from me.
Guardian Angel!Trans!Rachel (Richard) & Demon!Leo
I don't know how. I don't know why. But, this charming demon is my charge. I will never truly understand the will of God, but none ever will. Not even us angels. And if God wills it so, who am I to argue? Especially if it means I can be myself without having to disguise what I am. And I've never met a demon so sweet and so kind. Perhaps now I understand how others fell in love with Lucifer. There is a certain...beauty to demons I didn't see, before.
Elijah
Vanilla!Rachel & Human!Elijah Kamski
How in the everloving fuck did I manage to land a multi-million dollar deal beta testing a line of androids specifically catering to monsterfuckers like me? How? ¿Como? Cum? Someone explain when my life got so fucking weird that I am now collaborating with a fucking tech company trillionaire beta testing his new line of androids SPECIFICALLY for monsterfuckers?! How did this happen????
Daniel
Vampire!Rachel & Vampire!Daniel
Unlike his brother, Daniel is...frustrating. He is archaic, dogmatic, and difficult to tolerate at times. But...I also understand where his beliefs come from and being forced to share residence with what is essentially food that he is not allowed to eat must be frustrating to him. But all he needs is...proper discipline. And attention. And...affection. I do care about him...deeply. I want him to prosper and be comfortable here. I want him to be happy. I want him to feel as though my manor is a home, not just somewhere where he is a guest. And I hope I can achieve that with him, somehow.
Alma
Vanilla!Rachel & Vanilla!Alma
I care about him. I care about him more than anything. I cared about him before. I like him. I like him a lot. He tries to hard to learn, but he's actually a really good learner. It makes me upset that he seems so afraid of failing. He won't say it or act like it, but I can feel it. The hesitance and even preemptive recoiling as though him messing up will bring him pain. But now that I understand where it comes from...I just want to protect him. I want him to know how much he means to me. How much I see in him. How much I care about and appreciate him for who he is. The man who looks up at the sky and maps stars in his silver eyes. The man who always asks questions and wants to know more than he already knows. The man with an insatiable curiosity and a kind heart. The man who will hear me rattle on about whatever random thing just because he likes hearing me talk about it and likes learning about it. The man who will do the same to me. I...I just wish that everyone he's stuck with at home could see him for who he really is. Not what they wished he was or what they think he is or what they think he's supposed to be. Fucking cunt doesn't deserve her own invention, if you ask me...
Vanilla!Rachel & Mer!Alma
I'll admit, he was kinda scary at first. I couldn't see him and suddenly he was inside me. Didn't even give me a chance to catch my breath or anything or prep me. Then, he looked really scary. But then...he got soft. And cute. And I just wanted more of him. Even now, I look at him, and I just wanna hold him. Let him rest his head on my chest and listen to my heartbeat for a while. He's hot as fuck when he's railing me, but god damn, he's so sweet, too. And cute. It's nice to hold him and kiss him. He makes the best faces. Especially when I mess with his lure.
Alien!Rachel & Space!Alma
He's different. So much different than I could've ever expected. I'd heard reports of the ambassador from Earth from the Congress, before. But...actually meeting him was something else. He isn't even human. He's so different from me, but he feels familiar. Comforting. Like...home, almost. And his interest in my people and our culture is hard not to like. Perhaps I can request that my team visit my planet. I think Alma would like to experience Essek for himself. And I want to show him all my favourite parts of it.
Elianna
Vanilla!Rachel & Android!Elianna
She's so pretty. And confident. And fun. God, I haven't been on a date with a woman in years. I really hope I don't scare her or make her uncomfortable. I wanna get to know her and I can't do that if I fuck up and scare her away before I get the chance to.
Arda
Vanilla!Rachel & Vanilla!Arda
If she's anything like Alma, I think I'll like her. And probably get just as protective and defensive of her as with Alma. I bet making friends with both Alma and her would piss Dr. Chen off. I wonder if Alma's told her about me...
Vanilla!Rachel & Mer!Arda
She's...beautiful. Honestly. And so soft and so sweet. I like just floating around the tank in her arms and sitting on her lap. She's just nice to hold and I like listening to her. She's so gentle and so loving. Also helps that she's really good with her mouth. I could fall asleep floating around on her.
Alien!Rachel & Space!Arda
She's beautiful. She's a lot like Alma. Sort of like hatchmates, I think. Though, they're closer than that. But she's very kind and considerate and I like her. I feel inclined to protect her and defend her, much like Alma. I wonder if she'd like to study the flowers on my planet. She seems the type to enjoy interplanetary botany.
