Kevin is always a spectacle, always dehumanised in some way. The prophet, the spokesperson of strex, the boy. What he is has always been seen as more important than WHO he is in every era, even as the voice of his town, there’s an element of what he can do for others being more important than who he is himself. He is a radio host, a performer, and oh boy does he perform. Year after year, no matter what he’s doing, he can’t escape being a spectacle, until the only way he knows how to seek self discovery and help is by turning up the radio station in night vale as a child and speak to the town he doesn’t even have connection to (as much as his own, he does have links to it obviously).

This man is always for someone’s gaze, when he was strex’s spokesperson it was more hammered home, no free will and being forced to represent propaganda, and even when he’s escaped that he can’t find comfort in anything else! In mudstone abyss he latches onto his religious power because the need for safety represents itself through his learned need for control and, not unnoticeably, his need to be a spectacle.

Of course people can just like attention and I’m not disputing that, but he is rarely given attention as a person (except like. By Charles and Donovan who are his family. And by Lauren I believe, who may not like him but she sure does see him as a person. Just the worst one she’s ever had the displeasure of being near. She also loves him. He loves her, I don’t care what you say to me.) so he goes to what he’s USED to! Being a symbol, being dehumanised and seen for an ideology, whether it was community pre strex, strexcorp, or religious power, and more recently, he’s the boy. The boy was a mystery and now yet again a symbol for night vales fear (as a figure for nv to project their fear and confusion onto)

Why have I now had 2 different people try to suggest that me not feeling like the 1a or 1b terms for OSDD fit me (don't feel alters are indistinct and have heavy amnesia) means I might have one of the other 3 forms of OSDD

OSDD-1 is the only one of the 4 with alters as a symptom. And the one I was diagnosed with because I have that symptom. Please look up what the criteria for OSDD 2, 3, and 4 are before suggesting things like that I beg

Sometimes the smallest shit validates our system.

For the past 3? 4? ish days, the primary protector, and I, the primary host, have been having disagreements on coffee. He likes his with little sugar, and prefers it near black. I, the host, do not like coffee, and thus put as much sugar and cream into it as I can. We have been having a coffee battle back and forth for a while before we finally compromised on an amount of sugar that is 'agreeable' for everyone.

Flash to today, Secondary Protector/basically co-host fronts, he has to deal with the coffee. He did not like it AT ALL, regardless of amount of sugar. Granted, he likes monster over coffee.

The little stuff like that just cures imposter syndrome.

Can we stop acting like the only valid forms of dissociative disorder are DID and OSDD systems?

I have a dissociative disorder (OSDD-4 specifically), but mine exhibits in dissociative trances. Why is it not talked about? It legitimately interferes with my life. Before I found out I even had an OSDD diagnosis, I thought I was having absence seizures (as I have a history of having seizures). They’re most likely just dissociative trances though.

So, I will say again, why don’t people acknowledge that not everyone with a dissociative disorder is part of a system? It’s not even just specific OSDD diagnoses that don’t have systems. Depersonalization/derealization disorder is a dissociative disorder.

It makes me feel forgotten when people act like everyone with a dissociative disorder is part of a system because that is not at all the case.

So can we start putting more attention on non-system dissociative disorders? Because I really feel forgotten since people never talk about OSDD types 2, 3, and 4. And they NEED to be talked about.
