it's not even that she doesn't like reading or books that much, she just doesn't like them because they (as already said) have the same ending and because she gor sick of the perfect romantic ending after drew talked night in and out about it

You’d think Piper is chill with that stuff, but if she's crushing strong on you, she will not be normal about this. Stays silent after the person you're speaking to called her your girlfriend. When it happens to Reyna, she wants to be logical about it. Just say the truth and move on with the conversation. Keyword - wants. Because she can get absolutely smitten and then the next thing you know she’s looking away and her face is heating up. Of course, she maintains most of her composure, but she’ll be a little bit awkward for the rest of the day. Damn that stranger for putting those ideas into her head

With Alabaster, it really depends on the timing. The dude is largely sleep-deprived and on the verge of being killed most of the time. So he really does not pay attention to things like this if he suspects you two might be in danger (more so than usual). If things are moderately okay and you two are relatively safe though?? Oh, you know it gets awkward. He can be really outspoken if he has to, but he can turn into a mess just as easily. He sort of pauses glances at you, and attempts to explain that you two are not together. At some point, you don't even know what he’s saying. He doesn't know either. You just know that he’s stressed. Poor guy doesn't even get one peaceful moment smh

I saved the worst for the last which would be Octavian. The bitch fucking scoffs. Yes, he might like you but this is not important right now, because this stranger is assuming things and making stuff up. And he’ll let them know this much. Rolls his eyes because some people really don't know how to mind their own business. And they didn't even get it right. He genuinely didn't know why would you even be upset with his reaction. He was in the right, after all

Your eyebrows furrowed, but nonetheless, you obeyed. You sat on the edge of the bed with your legs dangling over the edge. Reyna placed her hands on either side of you and began kissing your neck. Your head tilted back and your mouth fell open. "Shit... Rey-"

Her lips frenetically met yours in an embrace. She pulled back after a few seconds and undid her uniform and armour. "May I," she asked gently as she tugged on the bottom of your shirt. You nodded and she managed to pull off your shirt and undo your bra. Her hand laid on your chest and she pushed you back so you laid flat against the bed.

It was a merciless battle. You hadn't seen Reyna in hours, and you were beginning to worry. You seemed to be on the last wave of enemies, and your energy was at an all time low. The slashes of your sword were getting sloppy and weak, but you had to keep your energy up.

You kept fighting with all the energy you had left, eyes scanning for Reyna. It was like you were on autopilot, and you barely registered when the enemies stopped coming. All you wanted to do was collapse on the floor and go to sleep, but you pushed yourself to find Reyna.

After what could've been merely 5 minutes or an hour, you found her. She was kneeling on the ground, her body shaking.

"Reyna, honey, hey. Are you okay? Are you hurt?" You kneel down beside her, putting your arms around her.

She grabs your hand and lets out a large sigh of relief knowing that you were alive and mostly uninjured.

"Yes. I just can't stop thinking about how many soldiers we lost today. I should've fought better. I could've prevented this," she mumbled.

"Don't say that. There was nothing you could do, okay? They lost their lives in an honorable way, and maybe that doesn't make it seem any better, but at least they were proud and fighting for a good cause before they died. You can't save everyone, and just think about everyone that's still alive," you try to comfort, holding her hand in hers.

She leans her head on your shoulder, "I know that you're right, but I will never be able to leave a battle such as this without feeling guilty. I know that there was truly no way I could guarantee everyone would make it alive, but I wish so deeply that I could."

"I know, honey. But you did all that you could. Right now, we need to get everyone injured back to the infirmary, and we can rest, okay?"

"Alright, let's go," she agrees, and the two of you stand, hand in hand.

When the two of you confirm that all the injured will make a full recovery, you head back to the barracks. As praetor, the two of you have separate sleeping quarters from the rest of camp, which you appreciate heavily at times like this.

When the two of you get back to your room, you both collapse onto the bed, still tightly holding each other. You and Reyna quietly talk until you fall asleep, for once being met with a peaceful sleep.

Being a praetor could be a lot of work. Lucky for you, your girlfriend Reyna was also a praetor.

Finally, after a long time of reports covering the desks of your shared office, the past couple of days were slow. Almost blissful.

Aurum and Argentum laid in a corner quietly, the only thing in the room that you heard was both you and Reyna's breathing.

"Go rest," Reyna said as she slouched from exhaustion in her seat, "There's no point in both of us staying up while only one of us works."

Other than that, the room was quiet, as per usual.

"Rey, it's okay," you trailed off.

"I'll take care of it," Reyna said, her voice was gentle, but her eyes were the ones with weariness. She knew she wouldn't allow you to pick up the slack. A small smile came to her face, looking at you. "Trust me."

"Rey, I'm here to help, it's okay.."

"I'm aware," Reyna said, a sigh coming from her as her eyes closed. She leaned back in her chair, her voice was soft, like a warm blanket on a cold night. "I know you are, it's just that... I can't just let you do my work."

"Well, that's both of our work... so too bad." Your eyes lingered on her face.

Reyna looked at you and laughed softly. "Why are you being so stubborn about this?"

"'Cause I don't want you doing this alone."

Reyna smiled and leaned into her seat as she closed her eyes again. "I'm not doing this alone," she said, her eyes still shut. "I have you. I have Aurum and Argentum." Reyna turned her gaze to them as well, a soft, affectionate smile on her face as she looked back at you.

"I meant humans."

Reyna laughed softly and raised an eyebrow. "We spend every day together, and our animals are better company to me than most humans. Do you know how many people I deal with every day, dear?"

You sighed, "'Course I do, baby..."

Reyna chuckled and tilted her head to look at you. "Well you don't have to worry about me."

"So you're forcing me to go to sleep?" You tried to look innocent to guilt her into letting you stay up with her.

"Well, technically not forcing as you are still awake," Reyna said, her voice a bit of a tease. She looked at you with a coy expression before she grinned. "I'm going to try to convince you to sleep. There is a big difference... Right?"

You rolled your eyes, "I'm not sleeping 'till you do."

"You're so stubborn," Reyna smirked, "I'll end up pulling an all-nighter."

"I doubt it," you said gently with a shrug.

Reyna chuckled at your stubbornness, though she knew you were right. You had this... Resilience about you. It was something she admired.

Aurum and Argentums' tails thumped softly on the floor, the two of them curled up and sleeping quietly.

"Don't laugh at me, look at our babies, they're sleeping, like you should be," you gently scolded.

She shrugged and as she spoke, her voice trailed off as her eyes shut and she leaned back into her chair, sleep beginning to pull her in.

Your hand brushed hers. "Baby!"

Reyna felt your hand brush hers and her eyes came open and looked at you with heavy eyelids. She blinked a few times and smiled at the familiarity of your touch. She wanted to fight her tiredness. "I don't want to sleep..."

"Yeah? Well, you just fell asleep," you said softly as your thumb brushed hers.

Her lip curled slightly. "I was not sleeping."

"Baby, go to bed, I don't wanna walk to my room, I'll crash on the couch," you whispered.

Reyna's face softened and she blinked as her eyes grew heavy again. It was almost impossible to stay awake. "Okay..." She finally gave in to your demand. As she leaned back, her eyelids grew heavy.

You helped her stand up and kissed her head. "I'm in the office if you need me."

Reyna looked up at you tiredly and nodded. She wrapped her arms around you and leaned against you as she helped to her feet. She let out another sigh, her lids fluttering as she tried to stay awake to say something else, but she didn't have the energy. Reyna then nuzzled against you and wrapped her arms tightly around you.

"C'mon, cuddle-bug, bedtime," you laughed.

Reyna looked up at you with a small smile and nodded against you. "Mm..." Was all she could say right now since you practically made her too tired to say anything else. Reyna nuzzled against you more and let her arms wrap tightly around you. "You're comfy..."

"And so is the bed..."

"I'm comfier with you," Reyna whispered and closed her eyes as she nuzzled more into your body. She was so tired that it would've been impossible to not fall asleep in the cozy embrace of your arms.

"I'm staying on your couch, go to bed..."

For a while, you laid there by yourself, cold as the couch was. It was uncomfortable and cold, but your eyes were still wide open. With a sigh, you glanced over to the office door and wondered if you should just go lay with Reyna.

Spoiler alert, you couldn't resist her.

It's not that she minded, she pulled you closer to her and fell back asleep.

He’s a horrible sleeper

I mean sure, you can sleep and cuddle like the couple you are

However, that doesn’t stop him from sleeping wildly

Limbs sprawled all over the freaking place and the only reason you know is because of the concerning amount of times you’ve woken up under some of them

To make it worse?

He’s a blanket hogger

He doesn’t rlly hog it in the sense that he steals it all

I mean he does, but he sorta just slides off the bed and takes the rest of the blanket with him

Nice to cuddle with but not to sleep with sorry not sorry

The first way is pretty compacted

What I mean is, he sleeps he sleeps bundled up by the blanket in a blanket burrito

The other one is where he sleeps sprawled out, limbs all over the place, blanket discarded

So when he’s in a blanket burrito best believe he’s taking you with him

He usually does this during winter because he naturally runs hot

Anyway, he pulls you in and kinda bundled the blanket around you two for you guys to cuddle and be as close as possible

But when he’s sprawled out with his limbs everywhere he likes to cuddle with you on top of him

That or you’re abused and crushed by him in your sleep

Plus yknow how he runs hot? Well it’s absolute hell

It’s so hot and honestly suffocating when he’s sleeping on you 💀

He’s obviously huge so

He fully embraces you and hugs you so it’s pretty comfortable

And he sleeps on his side or stomach so there’s plenty of room

If you’re the type to always talk during night time then she’d react differently

Like if you gotta sleep asap cuz of the mission and all you do is yap
