Trying manage to wrap all the presents for christmas 2 days before christmas (christmas is celebrated on the 24e in sweden) instead of during the morning of christmas itself
And i realised that... two days is not enough for this to not be... to few hours to wrap all these gifts. So, many! Gifts!

I'm watching a documentary about the Gävle goat and i had a thought just now - why burn it before the new year if you could make it a actually exciting and beloved tradition on its own?
Because like in russia we have Maslenitsa and we burn a staw doll as a symbol of winter leaving and warmer times coming our way, and it's a big and genuinely enjoyable tradition for all! (I'm describing the pagan traditions that were followed and told in my town regarding this holiday)
Why not make the goat something similar? Leave it alone for the town and tourists to enjoy before the new year's eve and burn it like on the jan 3rd or 5th? That way everyone enjoys it! And non the less - yes the bets will be off as it will be a part of the tradition now, but there'll be less sorrow for the builders and townsfolk who actually like to see the goat!
I'm just saying that the compromise is not that big, i know that the whole thing is that it's illegal to burn it and it ruffles people's feathers and they take it as a challenge. And that for the outsiders it's a fun gamble. But for the people of the town it's not, especially if it's burned just after 6 hours after installment...

been learning a new thing at work and they made it sound like the hard part is the task itself and completely neglected to tell me the worst part is hunting down norwegian real estate agents to send them even more emails.

What's your favorite holiday. Why or what do you typically do for said holiday?
I wish I had a more fun answer than Christmas.
But it's a lot of small things. Starting with that it's the only day in the year that I want snow.
No but it's the holiday I have the most varied memories for; I've celebrated with dad at my grandparents' where there was a real tree and someone pretended to be Santa Claus, and I was the only child for a while (my oldest cousin is 8 years younger than me). I've celebrated with my mum and brothers and then stepfather with a fake tree and mum putting on a santa hat, and we've celebrated with my then stepfather's grandparents in their beautiful home. I've celebrated with my aunt and grandma. I've celebrated with my mum and brothers, with my mum and brothers and current stepfather. I've celebrated with my mum, brothers, current stepfather, aunt and grandma. For the last few years the tradition has been celebrating with my mum, brothers, current stepfather and aunt. The most recent Christmas, my grandpa celebrated with us for the first time.
It's about getting to spend time with family and eating good food. It's about finding gifts that you know someone will love, and getting gifts that show that they know you. And it's about finding a fun gift for the Christmas gift game. (it's not white elephant. there's a die and a timer and you might end up with no gift. it's a lot of fun.)
It's been the one day that I know I'm staying the night at mum's since I moved out. She's hard to commute to so I mostly visit for holidays, and she lives in a forest area and they heat the house with a fire during winter so it's really cozy.
And the most classic Swedish Christmas tradition: watching Donald Duck (From All of Us to All of You).
