Summary: During the Cultivation Youth Games, Wei Wuxian from YunmengJiang and Lan Wangji from GusuLan get paired up to take down a yao to win points for their respective teams. Which wouldn't be a problem, if Lan Wangji wasn't painfully aware of his big fat crush on Wei Wuxian. It might, in fact, be more than just a crush. The yao decides to interfere, but thankfully, Wei Wuxian...has an app for that. Kay's comments: Oh, I loved this modern cultivation AU! The use of technology in this story was so creative and definitely something I could picture Wei Wuxian doing! In this story, Wangxian were paired up for a team night-hunt during the cultivation youth games. They are great partners of course, but seeing Wei Wuxian in all his genius action, Lan Wangji is also not able to hold back. They were so cute in this story! Excerpt: Wei Wuxian looks up at him, then, and grins. “But Lan Zhan, I am paying attention!” He turns his screen so that Lan Wangji can see. He knows that he’s looking at a talisman design, but Lan Wangji would have to examine it further to find out what exactly it can do. “It’s an app for designing talismans on the go!” Wei Wuxian prattles on. “You know that I love designing them, but I was getting tired of always having to carry talisman paper with me. It gets lost or tears so easily, and I much prefer this! You can copy them onto traditional talisman paper, of course, but this thing stores your design, you can annotate it so you’ll never forget what the different radicals mean and in which order they’re supposed to come. You can make edits at any time, and you can even upload them to a cloud if you’re connected to the internet! Isn’t that great?” Lan Wangji blinks. “There’s an app for making talismans?” Yep!” Wei Wuxian replies. “I was bored last winter so I sat down and researched how to make apps and tinkered with it until I had this.”

I received my copy yesterday, and when I say I cried. It is BEAUTIFUL.

The foiling is iridescent! 🌈 Many of the inside illustrations are too!

I cannot get over this. I knew it was coming, but I didn't expect the outcome to be this beautiful and to make me so emotional. This means the world to me. Thank you so much, @trippednfell !!! You made me so happy I feel like I am floating!

Today, Aug 21, is Fan Fiction Writers Appreciation Day!

The Chase

Lan Wangji, after attending his Uncle’s class, decided that a walk through the outback of his home was a great way to unwind the tension that built within him. It was his first time mingling with disciples outside of his clan and while he thought he was prepared for such encounters, he was terribly wrong. While the Lan Sect had a rule of not transforming into their true, original form, the disciples of the other sects had no quals of doing so. Oftentimes, Lan Wangji caught them transforming right outside their dorms, running around freely as if they held no restrictions to their more primal needs and wants.

Part 2 of my God and Goddess paintings! - Aphrodite, the Olympian goddess of love, beauty, pleasure and procreation.

"She was depicted as a beautiful woman often accompanied by the winged godling Eros (Love). Her attributes included a dove, apple, scallop shell and mirror. In classical sculpture and fresco she was usually depicted nude."

She is one of the goddesses I always gravitated towards as a child when I would read books on greek mythology and I have a soft spot for her, so I really wanted her to be my second goddess I painted!

She was born from seafoam, I wanted to make her hair flow like the water in the ocean. I always saw her as a chubby, curvy woman with the softest skin imaginable and I really wanted to depict that here. She is the embodiment of self-love and I always look to her when I need to give myself a little self-care and self-love. She is truly beautiful and I think it's very fitting for her to be the goddess I painted during pride month, where love is all around us.

I didn't really like the beach I did originally so I'd like to give credit to SweetLittleVampire on dA for the lovely background I used and altered to fit my needs here. :)

Summary: For Lan Wangji, loving or being loved inevitably leads to grieving. He's seen it happen countless times. When he's hit by a car and put into an induced coma for a few days, his mind wanders, and he gets the opportunity to revisit different periods of his life, and starts to reconsider his view on things. In his coma, he hears the voice of the boy he once loved but thought he'd lost - though that might have been just a dream. Or was it? Wei Wuxian volunteers at the hospital to reduce anxiety in child patients. One day, he meets a boy who's crying for his father. His day gets even weirder when Wei Wuxian meets the boy's uncle, who asks him for a special favour.

Kay's comments: Ah, I'm having a craving for hospital hurt/comfort stories recently and this one really scratched the itch! Featuring hospital volunteer Wei Wuxian and comatose Lan Wangji, who were teenage sweethearts until Wei Wuxian had to leave because of ~reasons~. Despite the premise of Lan Wangji being in a coma for 2 out of 3 chapters, this story is absolutely sweet and wonderful! There's also some Lan brothers feels in this and just Lan family feels in general!

Excerpt: “Do you know what my job here at the hospital is?” Xian-gege asks him. Sizhui shakes his head. “Well, if children are here, that’s because either they need to see a doctor, or they’re visiting someone,” Xian-gege says. “And hospitals can be scary, with how big they are, and how many people are here. So I am here to look after the children in the waiting rooms. I tell them stories or play with them, so they’re less scared. Would you like me to stay with you for a bit?” Sizhui gives it some thought. In the end, he nods. Xian-gege seems nice, and he thinks it’s better than to wait alone. “I have a book Baba often reads to me,” he tells Xian-gege in a quiet voice. “It’s also about a bunny.” Xian-gege smiles again. “Does your baba like bunnies? When I was younger, I used to have a friend who also really liked them. Would you like me to read to you from that book?”

So the hardcover copy of Heart of Glass @trippednfell made me came in an envelope and a ziploc bag for protection (and easy access in case customs would have needed to open it), but since I want nothing to happen to that cover...I crocheted a book sleeve for it.

First time trying the tulip stitch because that was the closest to gentians I could get. I need some more practice with this, and the sleeve needs blocking, but for now I am really pleased with it.

Also when it comes to bookmarks, I might not be able to craft a real stained glass gentian - but I sure as hell can crochet one!

The book came with a bookmark with my name on it, but that one lives in my journal.
