There’s some awfully weird things that these dudes named their horses, let’s get into a few.

Of course we have the two Jeff Davis’. I’ll never get over Grant naming his horse that.

All I know about Johnston is that he was a confederate that died at the battle of Shiloh. I’m sure after he died his horse ran away to find an owner who wouldn’t name it “Fire-Eater”. If I were a horse named Fire-Eater I would definitely have a problem with the dude who named me that.

Chamberlain, I love you. You did a good job at Gettysburg, you were a good professor, and that mustache is legendary. But you named your horse “Charlemagne”. It sounds like a spell out of a Harry Potter book. I have no clue how to pronounce that, but it looks more like “Charles-magnet”

Y’know how there’s two different types of cat owners, one will named their cat “Angel” while the other names it “Cool Ranch Doritos 5000”? This is the equivalent but with horses.

I can sit and critique forever as I am the world's proudest hater but I do feel that a lot of the snark around Vengeful is just people crucially misunderstanding the point of the villains universe. it's fucking camp! everything is self aware and overdramatic and reads like a published (albeit very good) fanfiction. if you're in specific circles you absolutely recognise the tropes schwab is pulling from and the tongue in cheek references she makes and all of them are on some base level FUNNY. I don't think it can be read with 100% gravitas because as much as it is brutal and visceral and about extremely traumatized people desperately clutching onto each other because carrying on feels easier than trying something new, it is also a book in which the girlboss mafia leader queen gets taken out by a naked college quarterback . schwab likes nice and wrapped up endings and after dealing with stief and Muir it is a BREATH OF FRESH FUCKING AIRRRR

👻 Eleanor doesn’t really believe in supernatural things, she believes it is a whole lot of “made up fantasies” - she did however, thought she might’ve seen the ghost of her father and sense his surroundings, around the time when he came back into the public light, which afterwards it is found out that he faked his own death, all those years ago when Eleanor first got her powers.. 

🤡 Before moving to Lima, Ohio. Claudia always dressed up and did trick or treating for Halloween with her father. Her father used to entertain all the little children around Claudia’s age, play party games and eat candy. Over her childhood, Claudia dressed up as characters such as Alice in Wonderland to an onesie that resembled a black cat. Since her father’s death and moving to Lima, Ohio, Claudia didn’t feel like celebrating Halloween anymore.

👽 I feel like Cassandra would very much enjoy haunted attractions, but would be hesitated, due to a past experience that happened to her and her crew. She would definitely go to a haunted planet with Kirk and some of the crew for a laugh.

🎃 I don’t know if Halloween would be a thing in the 23rd century, but I’m sure Sydney and the rest of the crew would get involved in a costume party that was hosted by Kirk. I can definitely imagine Sydney would go with Chekov, whilst she dresses up as Daphne from Scooby Doo and Chekov dresses up as the fifth Beatle. She would also definitely get involved in some pranks with Chekov and Sulu too.

🖤 Like I’ve said, Claudia wasn’t really the type of girl who celebrated Halloween, as soon as she moved to Lima. She might’ve still dressed up with Finn, but costume parties weren’t really his Finn, so they didn’t really celebrate, apart from the occasional sitting round a bon fire in the family garden, drinking hot chocolate. Claudia did however, start celebrating, once she found her friendship group and found family among the glee club. The gang decided one year that they would definitely dress up as musical theatre characters, and another year, they’ve decided on dressing up as characters from both the Marvel and DC comics.

🍬 Cressida is definitely a frequent visitor of Honeydukes. She loves Sugar Quills, toffees and treacle fudge. She also loves cauldron cakes and pumpkin pasties. When it comes to flavours, she tends to prefer sweet flavours, especially anything that’s chocolate. She also has a soft spot for the cherry, strawberry and buttered popcorn flavours from Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans, and absolutely hates black liquorice.

🫀 Sienna loves horror movies. She loves to watch any film made by Tim Burton, every Halloween. One year, she tried to make Steve watch the Scream films with her, thinking that he would terrified, but what was hilarious was the fact that he couldn’t tell if they were real or not, and of course Steve would try to convince her that the classic horror films from the 1920’s were more scarier. Whilst she won’t admit it, she really likes the first Hocus Pocus film and it’s actually one of her guilty pleasures.

sydney to the max's "boy meets dad"

I've been watching Sydney to the Max lately, and it's very addicting to anyone who just really likes seeing people getting along. So far, there's one episode that stands out above the rest, season 2's "boy meets dad".

What's the show? Sydney to the Max is a disney channel show with two storylines, one in 1992, one in 2019, following a boy raised by his mother and a girl raised by her father (the boy grown up).

What's the episode? "Boy Meets Dad"'s 90's segment is about the boy (Max) realizing that his dad is unreliable, but that his mom is always there for him. In the 2019 segment, Max's dad returns to see him win an award, tries to initiate a bond with an at-first-but-eventually-not-reluctant Max, apologizes, plans to ditch the award ceremony, and then comes back.

The best part of this episode is undoubtedly the 2019 Max finally getting to express his hurt to his father. "You were always leaving, not because you had to, because you wanted to". It's hella cathartic to watch.

At first, the ending kind of bothered me. Max gives his dad a second chance and then the whole family hangs out. I thought it was too optimistic, for him to finally start caring then.

But, then I thought about it and its not too optimistic at all. The fact that his dad is there for him now isn't going to fix any of the years their relationship was bad. Shit still sucks. Someone finally agreeing to not suck doesn't negate them sucking for decades. Sometimes people start caring for random reasons (my dad cares a lot more about what i'm up to now that he's retired) and it doesn't fix anything but you don't want to fight anymore. That's probably the most realistic thing that could've happened.
