🎃 Behind the scenes Pt.1

Even though there are other divisions and some participants which may not be mentioned above, they’re all invited and have their own parts in this event as well. For examples;

Himari Asami, Hiroshi Sakura, and Suzuran Minazuki (who was on the request of her non-blood-related cousin) were in charge of designing and making costumes with the assistance of three fashion interns; Aimi Miyazaki, Alice Shiroka, and Umi Kobayashi.

Akira Arai, Natsume Kurome, Kururi Yamamura and Queen Card’s team were noted to took part in making props. By the way, Kureha Koizumi was anticipated to participate in this as well but she unexpectedly showed up in the opening show —much to everyone’s surprise.

Reiaki Suzubayashi and Emiko Akaibara showed to work together on helping the cast prepare themselves before entering the stage.

Chiyuri Seiguni was tasked to be the main operator of most special effects on stage via the brief from the real technician, Raiden Otoha since this one had to take his part in the 7th show.

Aiko Mayeda was the D.J. and he got the party started! The 86 band and other musical units associated with other division members were also joined in to provide music for some songs.

Most choreography throughout the shows were designed and coached by Yeong Hajoon, Haruto Morikawa, and Kaede Iwasawa.

The representative of Snowflake Sentinel News, Yoichi Shujo; and the head of a certain publishing-house, Nellie Yukimura were assigned to deliver the details of this event. Please expect more live reports and some tidbits behind the scenes from them.

The foods and drinks in this event were all supplied by the alliance between Luis Kōkyū, Rashaad Young, Harumatsuya shop, and Rikiya farm.

The main sponsors of the previous event are Sigma Inc., Toi Pharmaceutical, and E.L. Medical Co. Therefore, this time it’s the turn of Wonder⇓anD Sound Systems, Arakawa Tech Industries, and the concert venue was organized by the entertainment agency “Kairiku Production” with the cooperation of Queen Card’s league. 

For some reason, a certain division was banned from participating —to be specific, it’s Ginza Division. However, Eiji Noguchi and his family were secretly invited because his children wanted to come.

At first Fusao Ise and Queen card were honored to be the MCs (or the hosts) of this event but because the latter had to ‘prepare’ for her own part in the 11th show, Reika Aichi was surprisingly nominated to take over this role once again alongside Fusao.

At the beginning, all the cast were seen wearing some kind of masquerade mask before their first show started.

Though not every division was present in the 3rd show, there were flags with symbols of each team ever participated in the D.R.B. showing on stage.

For whatever reason, Aranai Norikoru was the one who delivered the line “Toki wo (Shout)!” before the chorus “Kakumei wa matte (The revolution has succeeded)!” was sung by all divisions. Well, someone in the cast seemed visibly displeased with how this turned out.

Despite the 6th show being performed by Yuuya Kanata and Yorii Sakuma, the one who advised them on the lyrics was their senior musician, Ren Nakashima, and the music provider for this show was none other than the 86 Band

Before two boys of the 6th show left the stage, the camera caught both Yuuya and Yorii high-fiving Ren who was up for the next show…

"Kick It Up A Notch" has Dylan Saunders doing a wonderful performance of basically "Poor Unfortunate Souls" in space while manipulating a kickass puppet, and also Jaime Lynn Beatty belting her heart out. What more do you want.

Hypothetical Identity V x Legacy of Kain crossover list:

S-tier is obviously Kain. I'm thinking either for the Detective or Undead. Undead, because his build and weapon look fairly similar. Detective, because he also happens to be the main character of a complicated and tragic storyline (also because Kain never fully "dies"; it'd just feel right for him to run around in synesthesia mode after his part in the game is done).

I'm leaning toward Detective, to add that "specialness" justifying it being an S-tier. Kain doesn't have a very flashy character design, so you'd need something other than tons of special effects encouraging people to buy it.

A-tiers:

Raziel - Axe Boy/Photographer (I'm leaning toward Axe Boy because of the flaming souls and design potential of the trees, but Photographer would probably make a better vampire Raziel. Think "going into spectral" with the cameras, etc.)

Ariel - Naiad (Geisha and BQ don't quite match her temperament, but Naiad's swimming moveset perfectly translates into ghostly floating about. Her harpoon could be redesigned into a staff with the Balance symbol on the end.)

Moebius - Mad Eyes (✨NEED. I. SAY. MORE.✨ His gates could be retextured to look like the stained glass halls in the Sarafan Stronghold.)

B-tiers:

One for each of the clans, of course! I made sure all the B-tiers were Survivors since the higher tiers are very Hunter-heavy, which is unusual for most crossovers.

Razielim - Toy Merchant

Miscellaneous Items:

I figure most of the above (except maybe the S-tier) would be presented in an essence, so I came up with some hypothetical goodies to put in the shop, too.

Mini Lieutenants (pets for both Hunter and Survivor. You'd probably be able to get a maximum of two or three for free from the accompanying event, but the rest would be available in the shop. They should likely sell at a discount to the usual pet price as well, since there's so many.)

Mini Sluagh (an alternative pet idea, if the mini lieutenants are too many to collect. Could be for Hunter or Survivor, but I'm leaning toward Hunter.)

Mini anyone, tbh. Vorador, Umah, Janos...heck, just chibify 'em all. I'd open my wallet for that. >:)

Some kind of Soul Reaver accessory (either a small B-tier available in the essence, or an S-tier for Raziel/Axe Boy. In the case of the latter, you could probably brand it as an "elemental font" or something and have color-changing effects for various interactions during a game.)

General Hunter A-tier accessory (turns rocket chairs into a small recreation of Kain's Pillar throne; I'm thinking it could just be a large central Balance Pillar with the others being smaller decorative bits, otherwise the design becomes too big for the item it's replacing. You could even have it similar to BQ's Promised Neverland costume, where the Pillars are whole when a Survivor is first chaired, and decayed when on their second.)

At least one piece of furniture (I literally don't care what, I just have a horrible addiction to collecting furniture in this freaking game. Maybe another throne or some kind of Chronoplast thingy.)

WAIT NO. HOW DID I NOT THINK OF THIS SOONER: BANNERS. (All six clans, probably B-tier. If you wanna get really fancy, you could do a larger banner of Kain's too. Line 'em all up on the wall with his in the middle...oh heck ya.)

this new tour will feature a revised book by Native American playwright Larissa FastHorse, who has been brought on to tackle the musical's depiction of Native Americans.

You might wan to see it. I know how much you like the 1954 Peter Pan.

"Peter Pan" was my first Broadway musical, and is one of my favorite musicals besides "The Phantom of the Opera," "Annie," and "Oliver!" When I was six my family and I went to BlockBuster and got the VHS tape of "Peter Pan" my mom had asked me "Do you know a woman named Mary Martin played Peter Pan?" I had seen the Disney version, so a woman playing Peter was special. I liked Peter because he didn't grow up, and he could fly.  I watched the Mary Martin version with my family. My Brother, Sister, Mom, Dad, and me. I LOVED it more than the Disney version. Though we lived out in rural New Mexico I saw it as often as I could, my Mom would make the special trip to get the VHS tape all the way from town.

My siblings loved it too: we played this version of Peter Pan my sister made waves and costumes for all of us to wear. We built the house for Wendy with this toy building set we had and sang the song (I was Wendy though my favorite character was Peter) “Tender Shepherd” was sung after “Rock-a-Bye baby” at bedtime (it worked well because there are three of us and three Darling children.) Of course, my favorite part was the part where you would clap to save Tinkerbell. and it was always magical to see Tinkerbell come back to life. Being as young as I was I assumed Mary could see me through the camera and I would make eye contact with her and form an emotional bond with the woman whose name was read to me every time before the movie started. I couldn’t read then. Of course “Oh my Mysterious Lady” made me laugh my head off. The rescue of Peter by Tiger Lily and the Indians on scooters was also funny, the look on Cyril Ritchard's face is priceless.

Then of course came "Ugg-A-Wug" I had been born with Cerebral Palsy and thus had to go to speech therapy so I assumed I was misunderstanding the characters and tried to understand them. The limits of my six-year-old vocabulary meant that all of the words meant "help" except "Ugg-Ugg-Wah" which meant "I Promise" Jerome Robbins' choreography is the reason I can get the meaning of the words

I went to speech therapy as a kid with Cerebral Palsy,  and the I Gotta Crow (Reprise)  I think resembles that because I had trouble with the “R” sound! Mary Martin was a #WomanRoleModel as Peter Pan for me at six years old!  This is really the only thing I remember seeing that was positive and affirming of my disabled identity.

Then my seventh birthday came, and I got my own Mary Martin Peter Pan VHS tape by that time the Cathy Rigby version had come out and my Mom heard about it and got it for me for Christmas. I watched it with almost the entire side of my Dad’s family who was there for Christmas. My sister reminded me of Cathy Rigby, with my CP, my sister seemed like she could do anything. and I  watched both versions on a TV that was above my head. I would look up at women doing what I wanted to do, go to Neverland!  To me a small child they were larger than life and in a way still are. I also felt that I was in love with Mary Martin though at six years old with only exposure to straight romances in children's media coming out was impossible without the language. I also connected strongly with the fact Mary Martin and Cathy Rigby both played a boy. To me it was I can be a boy and a girl at the same time, The basic definition of Genderfluid, was shown, taught, and absorbed without the need for the word. "Peter Pan" makes me feel how II want to think in my AFAB-gendered body, which is neutral!

Then my mom decided that we should perform "I Won't Grow Up" in the school talent show because she thought it was cute and funny.  This led to my VHS being taped over because it was always in the VHS player. I cried, of course. My Mom bought me the DVD, which I still have to this day. The VHS getting recorded over turned out to be a good thing. After all, all our VHS tapes got given away because we moved to Alabama.

I CAN'T see another version with CHANGES, because I HATE CHANGE! I KNOW that makes me a COLONIST RACIST! The most HORRIBLE thing is I don't even care that I'm a MONTER who doesn't deserve to LIVE anymore! #PeterPanLive made that clear nine years ago! I'll be alive ten years from now. “Peter Pan” Is tied to me being TransMasc, Mary Matin was my Trans Role-Model, so it’s Autistic Confort Media, so changing it is TERRIFYING.

Kaede: Costume: Phantom of the Opera (something I think just works out nicely for her) Monster: Phantom (a benevolent kind that loves playing pranks by haunting the piano she used to play. Or a certain emo. Whichever comes first)

Maki. Costume: Little Red Riding Hood (was running out of time and though to repurpose an old cloak of hers). Monster: Bloody Mary/Maki (call her name three times in that mirror, she doesn't fail to make an impression~)

Miu. Costume: Bunny Girl (she would get defensive and say its a legit costume, but, you know~). Monster: Succubus (not the most competent succubus, but a succubus nonetheless)

Angie. Costume: Nun (always appreciated their aesthetic) Monster: Nymph (Leaning on Oceanid/Naiad. Didn't want to outright make her a goddess either, though I do love that HC. Felt nymph was a nice balance between her being a monster and her usual self of serving a higher power...allegedly~)

Tenko. Costume: Bruce Lee (One of those things that just feels natural) Monster: Amazon (very high potential for defeat by snu-snu)

Himiko. Costume/Monster: Witch (writes itself)

WHAT COSTUME SHALL THE POOR GIRL WEAR TO ALL TOMORROW’S PARTIES? A HAND-ME-DOWN DRESS FROM WHO KNOWS WHERE TO ALL TOMORROW’S PARTIES.

Fiona stowed away from Ireland to America, where she would work as an indentured servant to a devoutly religious migrant ship captain. When she wasn’t fulfilling the housekeeping and cooking, she was put to work in his wife’s boutique, tailoring beautiful dresses for women living the lives she wanted. She resented going back to work for a pious man she loathed, who always told her she should feel lucky to get the opportunities (and subsequent unwanted attention) the noble sailor would give her.

She found solace in her friendship with a young boy who was born into a similar lot in life. She would sneak out to meet him on the streets every night, to laugh and play, and commiserate and comfort each other, and feel rare moments of peace and harmony in their tumultuous lives. One night, he told her he had been approached with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, from magical boy who would pluck miserable children like them out of their sad little world and bring them to enchanted land where they could live free and prosper. Fiona’s friend told her that she needed to meet the boys at the end of the piers at midnight the next day so they could leave their sad, scary city and never look back.

Unfortunately, Fiona wouldn’t make it to the pier. After finding out that she had been sneaking out every night to frolic with local paupers, her employer had new lockdown measures put in place to stop her from making herself drowsy on the job the next day. She was left behind, never to see her friend again. Unsure of any other way to contact a mysterious floating boy, she developed a fixation on occultism and pursued any information on The Mystical Floating Devil-Boy, smuggling books on esotericism and alchemy into her master’s manor to read by candlelight while she was locked up at night. After nearly three years of fervently digging deeper and deeper into old magics and experimenting with rituals, her raw willpower was strong enough to make contact with Neverland. Peter, amused and impressed by her enthusiasm, took her in as a promising potential mother for the Lost Boys.

The Lost Boys were baffled to see the stars align in such a way that she stumbled upon the tomes she needed to reach Peter, at a time where he was in a good enough mood to bring her in, or perhaps desperate enough to find his new Wendy that he would take in someone who came across as meek and priggishly as she did. They dubbed her Lucky, and she was too happy to be there to even find the name patronizing. She thrived there for as long as she could, acting as a homemaker and a cheerful playmate to the boys, and a doting, loving devotee to Peter, the boy who became her religion. But as a girl who always wanted a life of elegance and serenity, she was a complete prude about the violence. Peter, in denial that he had picked another failure to replace Wendy, insisted that she was not, in fact, a killjoy, and would prove it by killing a pirate during their next raid. She’s haunted by what she felt pressured to do the next time she was on the Jolly Roger, but not as haunted as she still is by the look Peter gave her during his declaration that she would do it. It was the moment that made her realize that her messiah wasn’t as benevolent as she believed.

The doubt in her heart came to a head during a game of Battle. As her old friend was chosen to fight to the death with one of their own, she was fully confronted with what Peter and the island had done to his humanity. The boy who used to be her only comfort in the world was turned into a cold-blooded savage, and she couldn’t bear to watch him mangle the other child. When she cried out for them to stop, Peter was red in the face with frustration and embarrassment, forced to finally accept in front of all of his Lost Boys that he’d chosen yet another disappointment. In response to her protests, he changed the rules of the Battle to be Boys vs. Girls, and Lucky ran for her life. Under the full moon, she was chased to the lagoon and left to the mercy of the merfolk, where Peter called for the mermaids to dispose of her. In a stroke of insane serendipity, a band of pirates happened to be passing through in time to witness the disaster unfolding, and they saved her from her sharp, watery grave. The captain and two of his oldest pirates, familiar with the way children can be manipulated to do horrible things and then thrown aside by their cruel leader, took pity on her and helped her board the ship.

Now, Fiona is the newest refugee on the Jolly Roger, with a large target on her head courtesy of the merfolk who feel they have unfinished business with her, the small folk who have a vendetta against all pirates, the pirates who are still struggling to trust her after what she has recently done to one of their crewmates in her time as a Lost Boy, and the Lost Boys themselves, who see her as a no-good traitor.

Just her luck.

i come bearing another tale from identity v history. this is something that happened while i was taking a break from the game, so i wasn't aware of it until later, but it's still legendary.

uhhh warning for possible spoilers for the promised neverland???? i don't go into plot details or anything bc honestly i haven't read this far yet but it does involve characters who aren't present at the start of the series so yeah.

so identity v announces a crossover with the promised neverland. the crossover is... relatively successful, with some nice skins, fun events both in-game and on social media, and generally it just goes over well. fans of tpn are happy, though some of the choices for who gets what costume were a little baffling (though that may just be me lmao).

later that year, news breaks of a second part to the crossover. it's based on the sorta second part of the manga, with characters introduced later getting skins (while skins from the first part of the crossover also return). the skins are all revealed, and it turns out we're getting skins of the characters sonju, zazie, mujika, and peter ratri.

sonju, zazie, and mujika look... fine!! in fact, i'd say they even look good!! it's clear the designers paid a lot of attention to details and they're honestly among my favourite crossover skins. faithful, pretty, fitting for the original characters' models, basically what a crossover skin should be.

so, what about peter?? surely he, too, got a good, faithful costume, right??

well...

this was his poster.

now this was. an unpleasant reveal. why is he making that face?? he looked... goofy. why?? what happened?? how did whoever was doing the art for this manage to make such good art for the rest of these skins for both the first and second parts of the crossover and then drop the ball on a skin for a character who was likely meant to look attractive / pretty??

a lot of people were disappointed, but we hoped he would maybe look better in-game. after all, we've been deceived by art before; hopefully this would be one of those times.

well, uh... he looked like this.

he became the fucking laughingstock of the fandom overnight. no, that's literally what he's referred to on his wiki page. the laughingstock of the fandom. everyone was clowning on this man. and the memes never really went away, if the fact that now, two and a half years later, someone fucking changed the official idv discord server's picture to the mascot of the game with his face superimposed onto her. he came out in late 2021 and we are still making fun of him.

there was never any change to his model as far as i know. they just dropped him and left. idk if they expected us to eat it up anyway, if they were just too ashamed to really ever touch him again, or if they thought he couldn't be fixed so they just abandoned him. dropped him and let us rip him to shreds.

this is the only tpn skin i have never seen in-game. i've encountered every other skin, i even have emma. but i have never seen anyone, not in competitive play, not on streams, not in my own gameplay, use the peter ratri skin. he exists only for us to bully.
