We as a fandom do not talk enough about how Jesper once bleached a swear word into his father's jurda field in all caps because he was bored.

i don't have too much of a concrete idea of what pirate false would be because all the people on pirates seem to have developed separate characters, but i feel like she could honestly exist in any of the factions. she would definitely be one of the people who showed up without a faction though, probably didn't grow up in that society like cleo or scott.
in choosing a faction, people might just think she would be in kites because of her prowess in pvp (on hermitcraft at least), but she's honestly not the type to pick a fight (she would much much prefer staying on the sidelines and engaging only when necessary). for kestrels, people don't notice this as much but false is definitely a capitalist in character-- she is a hermit after all. depending on what her character is, she could be a heron or nightingale as well. being a nightingale would have the "found family" bonus, which a character like empires false would benefit from. i can't really think of anything about the herons that she would specifically be drawn to even though it's my favorite faction lmao, but it's definitely not off the table.
backstory wise, just based off of her previous characters and my design for her, i think she would be missing people in her life. she might've been a solo sailor for a while, or have been working on a passenger ship, when either of them capsized and she ended up on the faction isles. there, depending on the person who found her, she would either be introduced to the faction system and picked one, or just straight up been adopted by the person who found her. (for instance someone like scott would teach her what each of the factions meant and have her pick one, while someone like sausage would just be like hi i'm a kestrel there are three other factions but you don't need to know about them because we're the best one and you should join us.)

In her modern verses, Yua mainly just sleeps in a big t-shirt, nothing cute
Then the princess just sleeps in light cotton robe

so much love for characters who are desperately unsure whether they’re a good person, a redeemable person, a person worth saving, but are absolutely certain that they’re a grade a hottie

the funniest part of any Robin meeting the JL is that every Robin is so distinctly different from the previous one in terms of personality and vibes that the league literally gets backlash. and like, I don't blame them. not to mention that they are non-meta children that dress as a traffic light and fight crime alongside batman in gotham on a nightly basis. i'd also be a bit concerned. Batman, literally The Night of Gotham personified in the League's eyes, coming into a JL meeting: This is Robin, my crime-fighting partner. 11-year-old Dick Grayson, dressed in the brightest primary colours possible, vaguely hidden murder behind those eyes, never stops moving even for a moment: Hi! Superman: That's a child. That's-- Bats that is a child. You let a child--? Batman, deadpan: You try to stop him. Would you rather he try and murder a grown man with a wire?
Batman: This is Robin. 12-year-old Jason Todd, with the biggest grin on his face, about 3 books in his hand, stars in his eyes and a distinct street-kid drawl: Hey!!! Green Lantern: That's ... that's a different child. What?? Jason: I stole his tires :) Batman: Tried to. Jason, stage whispering to the League: basically did. Green Lantern: that is a different kid, right?? I'm not seeing shit??
Batman: This is Robin. 14-year-old Tim Drake, bo staff clutched in his hand, a wary and tired expression on his face, more on the quiet side, the literal walking definition of don't judge a book by it's cover: hello Flash: Where do you even find these-- Tim: I found myself.
Batman: This is Robin. 17-year-old Stephanie Brown, literally blonde, with a shit-eating grin, eyes full of nothing but mischief and the most explosive personality you've ever seen: hiya!! Superman: I give up. Stephanie: I know, I have that amazing effect on people.
Batman: This is Robin. 13-year-old Damian Wayne, a literal wet cat that will hiss at you, has a sword, the most judgemental stare you'll get from a teenager, ready to jump anyone there: Green Lantern: WHY DOES HE HAVE A SWORD?! Batman: ... he came with the sword.

The Italian restaurant in my mom’s hometown WAS definitely a mob front. The owner briefly served in the Italian military, immigrated to America in his twenties back in the early 70s, mysteriously had enough money to open a chain of Italian restaurants and was convicted for trafficking cocaine across the Virginia/West Virginia area and spent 15 years in prison.
My mom had worked as a waitress at the place while she was a teenager and throughout her 20s and she realized that when she was sent to the restaurant’s sister location in West Virginia in a mysteriously packed car by her mysteriously nice boss, it probably wasn’t pizza ingredients she was hauling. It was the 80s. She was a tiny, very naive, conventionally attractive church girl with no criminal record so she was the perfect unwitting drug mule.
The thing was, this restaurant and the man who operated it were locally loved. Beyond large scale organized cocaine trafficking, food was his other passion. Everyone waited anxiously for him to get out of prison and when he did this guy started a crusade against the corrupt local sheriff’s office. He started doing anti-police brutality advocacy work WHOLEHEARTEDLY. Donating to local families who had been victims and participating in local drives and awareness campaigns.
Made men usually do local charity work but the balls on this guy to take up sword and spear against shitty corrupt ineffectual law enforcement. Incredible. One thing about Appalachians is that we hate the cops and we love social agitators. This guy lived a long eventful life and died recently of natural causes and the overwhelming outpouring of love for him on Facebook was incredible, a uniting force that the town had not seen in decades, everybody was sharing their favorite stories about him and I’m sure local law enforcement was fuming.

house and wilson are both committing malpractice but in like. opposite ways. house is so detached from his patients that it sometimes actively harms his diagnostic process and almost always causes unnecessary distress/harm to his patients but wilson is so. so disgustingly disturbingly attached to every single person he treats. he sleeps with patients he gives his liver to a guy who doesn’t even know his name his office is a literal monument to the items he’s collected from everyone he couldn’t save. they’re both incapable of maintaining or respecting personal boundaries but it manifests in vastly different ways.
