Now two children danced across the godswood, hooting at one another as they dueled with broken branches. The girl was the older and taller of the two. Arya! Bran thought eagerly, as he watched her leap up onto a rock and cut at the boy. But that couldn't be right.

You remind me of her sometimes. You even look like her.

Ned and Catelyn had intrusted their eldest with the most important task ever. Babysitting the kids. As Robb waved goodbye to them as they drove out the driveway your headlights switched on a street back when you got the ‘they’re gone’ text. Hey, you had to seize the opportunity.
“Hey,” Robb grinned as he opened the door, deliberately leaning on the frame to show off his arms not that you were complaining.
“Hi,” you grinned back as you leaned up to kiss your boyfriend, ignoring the loud ew Arya gave as she walked past, “Do I not get to come in?” you pouted.
“I suppose you can,”
“Oh, you do?”
“Yeah,”
“On what conditions?”
“A kiss,”
“How about more than a kiss?” you teased as you kissed him again.
“You’re gonna be the death of me,” he mumbled against your lips.
“Whereas I’m going to kill myself if you two don’t get a room,” Jon grumbled as he walked down the stairs as Robb finally let you cross the threshold.
“Good idea Jon,” Robb smiled obnoxiously as he grabbed your hand, “You know where to find me. Now forget,” he said as he pulled you along up the stairs with him.
“Hey, you’re supposed to be babysitting!” Jon yelled.
“We’re not babies!” you heard Rickon yelling in the background as Robb pulled you into his room.
Usually in his snaps or video calls it was a mess but today it looked passable, “Oh you cleaned for me, how sweet,” you smiled as he closed the door, pushing your back against it as his lips dangled just above yours.
“What can I say? I’m a gentleman,”
You laughed as your hand snaked up to the back of his neck, “Its just a shame I don’t plan on acting very lady like,”
-
Usually, you loved Robbs siblings but if one more knocked on the goddamn door you may just combust. Sansa had come complaining about Arya hogging the tv which meant Arya then came to complain about Sansa being an ‘air head’ for watching reality tv which resulted in Robb going down to tell Jon to deal with it. Jon however had also been up about four times to ask dumb questions like where the batteries were or if you wanted any pizza put on or any other excuse, he could muster to ruins Robbs evening with a shit eating grin.
“Where were we?” Robb asked as he all but slammed the door after helping Jon figure out the oven.
He crossed the room to where you sat on the edge of his bed. His lips quickly found yours as he moved you to lay down on his bed. “This is better,” he teased as his lips moved to your jaw, kissing down your neck as his soft hands slipped under the thin fabric of your top which he’d tried to get off at least three times already.
As his hands cupped your tits, squeezing slightly making him groan against your skin there was a soft knock on the door. Robb groaned so pathetically you wondered if he’d cry, “What?” he called.
However, Rickon took this as come in which he did making Robb quickly shoot up to be kneeling over you as you fixed your top as Rickon pouted, “Its bedtime,”
“Goodnight little man. Close the door on your way out,”
“But story time,”
“Get Jon to do it,”
“But you always do it,”
“So, it’s his turn,”
“but you’re better at it,” Rickon whined, stamping his four-year-old foot with a pouted lip.
You sighed as you looked to Robb, “Cmon how long can it take?” you whispered.
Robb sighed as he looked down at you, “But we were gonna…you know,” your head turned to Rickon then back to Robb and the look you gave him was enough, “Okay fine, c’mon Rickie,”
“What were you doing on top of her?” Rickon asked as he padded out the room, Robb quickly behind him to tell him never to repeat what he saw with the promise of candy.
-
You were straddling his lap as his head rested against the headboard. you had finally ditched the t-shirt leaving you in a cute bra and skirt as you grinded against Robb’s painfully hard bulge through his strained sweatpants. Thankfully the sweatpants were the only thing left on him. His hands had moved under your skirt, grabbing your ass as you tugged on his curls making him moan into your mouth.
Your lips moved to his jaw, kissing down his neck, “What are you doing?” he half groaned as your hands roamed his abs as your lips moved to his chest, kissing all the way down his torso.
“Can’t say you haven’t earned it,” you grinned, shuffling back as your hand moved to palm him over the fabric of his trousers making his head roll back, “Unless you want me to stop,” you teased.
“Dear god don’t stop,” he groaned as your hands toyed with the hem of his waist band. “You wanna hear me beg? is that it?” he asked, his desperate eyes searching your teasing ones.
“Maybe, could be kinda hot,” you teased as your hand slipped under the fabric to take hold of his hard on making him moan softly. Your hand wrapped around it, stroking it softly, “I like it when you’re all desperate,”
“Fuck please baby. I really am desperate, so fucking desperate please,” he said as your hand sped up slightly.
You grinned as you leaned down, moving the fabric away painfully slow to reveal his hard cock already wet with precum. You leaned down to place a kiss to his tip, Robbs hand moving to rest on the back of your head as your tongue poked out to lick it when suddenly the door slammed open, banging off the wall as laughter rang out.
You shot up as Robb quickly pulled up his sweats and jumped out of bed, accidentally pushing you on your back in the process, “Bran I’m gonna fucking kill you!” Robb screamed as he chased his cackling brother down the hall as you scrambled to pull your top back on and run after him to stop murder.
As Bran bolted down the stairs, Robb soon after him, and you just reaching the top of the stairs the front door swung open to reveal a once happy looking Ned and Catelyn. Their faces first turned to shock as Bran ran into his mothers’ arms still grinning like a Cheshire Cat then to confusion, then you felt Catelyn’s eyes fall on you and then quickly turn to Robb in anger.
Meanwhile Ned put the pieces together slightly slower before muttering “poor kid,” under his breath as you quickly rushed down the stairs.
“I’m just gonna-“you said, pointing to the door which you were soon heading out of, “yeah. Bye Robb, bye guys,” Cat watched you leave with a fury and Ned with a sorry glance.
“Wait but-“ Robb said, trying to reach out but you gave him a sorry look as you left the house, hearing him sigh and go, “Aw man!” he said before muttering, “I can’t Catch a fucking break,” making Cat cross her arms and Robbs life suddenly flash before his eyes. One thing was for sure though. He was going to kill his brother.

After finishing all of jon’s chapters so far what do you think his ending would be like ?
I will answer this, but I'll set aside the conflict with the Others, because I struggle with the timeline, resolution, and Jon's role.
I believe the following is well-supported by the text:
Melisandre will wake / resurrect Jon.
Sansa and Jon will reunite at the Wall.
Sansa and Jon will reclaim Winterfell, with some help.
Sansa and Jon will develop forbidden desires.
Jon will be declared King in the North, because of Robb's will.
Jon will learn of his true parentage from Howland Reed and / or Bran.
Jon and Sansa will wed under the Old Gods, and consummate the marriage, allowing him to still hold the north by right of marriage.
Following Daenerys Targaryen's rampage through the southern kingdoms, Jon will call upon whatever is left of his forces, and cross the Neck into the riverlands.
Jon and Daenerys will parley at the Trident, where Jon will choose wisdom over sword (a la Torrhen Stark), and bend the knee to Daenerys.
Jon will pass the dragon test.
Daenerys will see Jon as a solution to her struggles with producing an heir.
Uneasy Jon and his army will be dragged to King's Landing, as he continues to grapple with his allegiance to the despot he just pledged loyalty to.
Weird hostility between Jon and Tyrion, because of Sansa.
At some point, both Jon and Tyrion will come to the realization that this girl is far too gone, and they have to stop her.
Jon and Tyrion will both be detained before they can do anything.
Daenerys will delete a city, and Tyrion will lose his brother and sister in the process.
In comes Arya, who must fetch Jon, and kill Daenerys in the throne room when she has a spare moment.
We end up at Harrenhal, where Jon aka Aemon will quietly refuse the seat of power.
Bran will be elected king with a council, but I strongly suspect each kingdom will also kind of be a self-governing state.
Jon will return home to his queen, and perhaps a new member of the family.
They will prioritize the north's reconstruction, marrying off and settling the freefolk in the Gift (land given back to the north, thank you Bran), and assisting the ironborn's partial relocation to Cape Kraken.
The end.
If you're wondering where the bitter in bittersweet is:
A previously revered savior descended into madness, resulting in the loss of homes or lives for half a million people. And that's not even accounting for the widespread carnage that was unleashed everywhere else in the world. I think it's fairly obvious.

Seeing all your cool home updates && half-watching some HGTV w/my mom while drawing had a simple prompt idea if you might be interested! Basically HGTV reno show Jonsa - Sansa is a designer and finally gets a chance for her own show but loses Rob (her #1 contractor) to an injury before filming starts && Jon jumps in (either to help Rob /or/ the studio execs (maybe Targs?) throw him in) and the two have to work together somehow. Idk idk, just wanted to share! <3
ANON.
No, you have no idea, I already HAVE a house reno wip. It's not super long, but... yeah. I've got that.
Here, I'll post what I have written of it, since we CAN'T GET ONTO AO3.
this isn't exactly your prompt, though I do honestly love yours a lot and sort of want to change mine. If I changed mine, the show Sansa works on would definitely be like Rehab Addict, where she restores old homes to their prior state instead of making them "modern"
But mine is sort of similar? This snippet is just the set up and doesn't include the part where Sansa decides to start a youtube channel for her renovations, (a la WabiSabE, which I used to watch and was probably the inspiration for this fic when I first started writing it like a year ago lol), and everyone starts shipping her with her contractor Jon, who she keeps forcing to be in the videos because she can't really make them without him being in it...
.
Sansa winces as her car hits another bump and jolts her in her seat.
“You owe me,” she huffs out, hands tight around the wheel.
“I know, I know,” Robb's voice comes through her sound system and fills the car. He's distracted, she can tell, and she bites back a snippy comment. Robb's just so busy, he couldn't possibly get away.
That's not fair, the small part of her brain that's still being rational thinks. Of course Robb couldn't drop everything and come out to the middle of nowhere to deal with their Great Uncle Brynden's estate. Robb's got a new baby and his job.
Robb's got a baby, Arya's got her tournaments, Bran has school, and Rickon's still underage. All of her siblings have lives they can't get away from. All except her.
No significant other, no kids. A tenuous career that she can technically do from anywhere.
“Oh no,” she breathes, when the house finally comes into sight through the trees.
“What's wrong?” Robb asks, his full attention back on her.
“Robb,” she whines, the car coming to a pathetic, rolling stop on the overgrown gravel drive. “It's a mess.”
“A mess?”
She doesn't answer, too busy staring at the mansion in front of her. Or, what used to be a mansion, she thinks.
It's still vaguely house-shaped, but... The roof is missing shingles in multiple places, the windows all seem busted out. The steps up to the covered front porch are fine, but the porch itself has a massive sinkhole, and half the wood looks rotted and ready to crumble.
Gods, if this is what the outside looks like...
“What kind of a mess?” Robb asks. She's just about to start listing the many problems when she hears another car approaching.
“I've gotta go,” she tells Robb. “I think the lawyer's here.” She hangs up before Robb can answer, and watches the other car slowly emerge through the trees up the bumpy road, past the broken gates, and onto the circular gravel drive. It stops behind her and a man gets out. She gets out, too, phone clutched in her hand, just in case.
“Miss Stark?” the man asks, and his face splits into a kind smile when she nods. “Perfect, perfect. I'm Samwell Tarly. It's nice to finally meet you.”
Sansa moves forward to shake the lawyer's hand. He isn't what she was expecting. He's young, for one – maybe only a few years older than her. And he seems just as nice in person as he'd been over the phone. She didn't think lawyers came in nice.
“We should have met at your office,” she says, eyeing up the weeds sprouting from between the gravel and brushing against her ankles. “I didn't realize the road here would be so...”
Mr. Tarly laughs. “This place has been abandoned for quite some time,” he agrees. “I never met Brynden myself, but I’d heard about him. Apparently he decided to up and travel the world and left this…”
Sansa looks back at the crumbling mansion and feels her face scrunch up. She tries to smooth it out. “So, how fast do you think I can sell this?” she asks.
That’s when Mr. Tarly’s smile falters. “Well,” he starts, hesitant, “you see, it’s in such a poor state, I can’t imagine anyone would be willing to buy it.”
“But the land must be worth something? They can just knock it down and-”
“Ah,” Mr. Tarly winces, and Sansa’s sentence breaks off, unfinished. “I suppose you didn’t read all the fine print?” At the slow shake of her head, he grimaces. “Riverrun Manor is a historic property. You, legally, are not allowed to tear the structure down. Anything you do needs to go through lots of committee approvals…”
“So what you’re saying,” Sansa says, closing her eyes as reality crashes down around her, “is that literally no one is going to want to buy this.”
“Maybe if you find someone who’s both very rich, and very interested in Riverlands history?”
She opens her eyes and there must be a glare on her face, because Mr. Tarly winces again.
Then she turns back to the manor, and really looks at it this time. Beneath the grime and the moss and the crumbling wood, she can see what it used to be.
“What if I fixed it up a bit?” she asks, turning back to the lawyer. “What if I just did the major repairs, do you think someone would buy it then?”
She doesn’t want to do that, but it beats letting the property sit around even longer and paying the taxes on it. Or, worse, not paying the taxes and having that on her and her sibling’s financial records.
“I’m not a real estate agent,” Mr. Tarly responds, looking at the building thoughtfully. “But this is a good location, lots of historic stuff around. I wouldn’t doubt you could sell it if the building weren’t… well, that.” He waves his hand towards the manor.
“Alright,” she nods. “Maybe we should head to your office to do the paperwork, though? Then I’ll… I guess I’ll look for a contractor?”
Sam nods, and a bright smile lights his face again. “Oh, I know someone you can call!”

I've really enjoyed your discussions on Arya, Bran and Jon and was wondering what are your realistic endgame predictions concerning Sansa's story. Out of all the Starks, she's the one I'm struggling with because I do believe Harry dies and with it any hopes of being Lady of the Vale. Nor do I believe she'll be QoTN. I'm not sure where her story is leading up.
Tumblr media
I don't think Harry the Heir will die. I do think SweetRobin is not surviving LF's plotting and machination and poor Coleman is going to get framed for his death à la Marillion.
I think Sansa's plot in the next two books will be centered around gradually understanding and unraveling LF’s plotting and  gaining power in the Vale. While Arya has parallels with Lyanna, Sansa has parallels with Lysa Arryn in terms of their traits and journeys. And yet this time around Arya and Sansa may have happier endings and do things differently in their journeys. So while poor, unhappy Lysa got taken advantage of by Littlefinger and manipulated into her death, Sansa will gradually acknowledge that LF’s ambitions are selfish and that he is mainly responsible for what happened to her family. She will then learn from him, get her hands dirty and outwit him at his own game slowly shifting what power LF has from him to her.
There’s also a chance that we will get LF Vs Varys in which case yes, Sansa’s plot may intersect with Young Griff’s in some way. Though I don’t see Sansa ever going south to KL as long as Cersei is in power, if she wants to get marriage to Tyrion annulled she needs to request for one from the High Septon as Sansa Stark.
It’s clear from the OG outline that GRRM did not have much planned for the character. She was created as Arya’s foil, betrays her family in KL and then is most probably killed by Jaime on his way to the Iron Throne. Now, her story has no doubt expanded and grown as GRRM has watered and gardened a separate side plot for her in the Vale. Littlefinger is an important human antagonist, the fertile Vale is an important location and Sansa is the only POV there. The more Sansa learns, the more we get to see into what LF is actually trying to do.
I see her ending in the Vale. Either she could still die taking down LF or she will be Lady of the Vale and the true power behind the Lord of the Vale. The Vale food stores have been mentioned way too many times for it to not be important as Winter slowly descends all over Westeros. Sansa will need to control those food stores at some point as the masses flee the North and head south.
I don’t see her going North because that would make her a tertiary character. Sure, it would be a happy ending for Sansa to finally go back home to Winterfell. However, what would she do in the North in terms of story? Jon, Arya and Bran have got both the political and the magical covered and the OG outline only refers to the three of them in the North. As a character Sansa simply has more to do and contribute in the Vale than she does in the North.

I know that it’s not clear whether Jeyne Poole was crushing on Robb or Theon, and even though, when shipping, I like to believe it was Theon, I would prefer to think it was both. Because, to me, it would be very funny if Jeyne Poole had her own Margaery Tyrell-type of curse.
If Jeyne Poole ever crushes on you, you will at some point suffer greatly and end up looking very fucked up.
The intensity of the crush will also determine how fucked up you end up looking!
Beric Dondarrion? She wanted to marry him the minute she saw him. Used to be handsome and dashing and now he looks like a zombi, is missing an eye, has lost half of his hair and has huge scars around his neck and cranium!
Theon Greyjoy? She considered him handsome and simped by watching him play in the yard and now he is suffering from malnutrition! Has lost most of his teeth, three fingers, three toes, his hair is white and brittle like that of an old man and he hasn’t been allowed to bathe in 7 months!
Robb Stark? Good looking fellaw favoring the Tully side of his family whom she looked at a few times with slight romantic interest. Due to the crush being mild, it was only his corpse that got disfigured, but still! they cut his head off to sew that of his wolf’s on his body!
If she at some point crushes on Jon, I want to see him start to disfigure too. Make him look like Ghost. Give him white hair, a bunch of scars and red eyes.
This is all obviously meant as a joke, but I do think it is interesting how Jeyne Poole was presented to the viewers as Sansa‘s shallow sidekick (calling Arya “Horseface”, the mean nicknames to the twins at King’s Landing, being afraid of Jalabhar Xho due to his appearance) during the first three books only to then be shown as an extremely humane person by recognizing Theon and thus offering him humanity.
I used to ship Theon/Jeyne really hard when I first read ADWD (and as of now, it’s a conflicting guilty pleasure), but it always amused me seeing how different her fandom-characterization was depending on whom the focus of the story was.
In Sansa focused stuff she is usually the less-pretty, snarky (often more vulgar) best friend. (À la Robb & Theon)
In Arya focused fics she takes a more antagonistic role, although she is never “evil”, just a minor bully. (À la Jon & Theon)
And then with Theon focused stuff she is practically a saint! Even when Theon is characterized as more snarky than he usually is in post-Ramsay fics, she is always portrayed as extremely patient, caring, tender, gentle, etc.
And mostly, she is also vaguely ignorant. Rarely have I seen fanfics where she is confronted with Theon’s past actions, and in the few cases she is then she immediately becomes wise and forgiving and is as understanding as most of the Theon-loving-readers are.
This is not meant as a critique to those who write her in that way (I’d be a huge hypocrite, as said, that ship is the conflicting guilty pleasure), but I would love to see a different reaction. I would love see her frightened. I would love to see her appalled and disgusted. (And after that initial reaction, and maybe some time where they have a bit of emotional distance, she can become wise and forgiving and all that too while still being bitter every now and then about him, you know, having threatened to hang Beth, whom she was apparently friends with, killing two innocent kids AND PASSING THEM AS HIGHBORN LORDS OF WINTERFELL, offering Palla to be raped BY RAMSAY, and overall just bringing a bunch of murderous pirates to what used to be her home)
Anyway, I think this all shows:
1. How much of her characterization is derived from Theon.
2. How Theon might unconsciously see her (his one act of heroism)
3. How little we actually know of her.
“Compassionate”, “able to see the humanity in Theon, even after his Reek transformation”
Yes! But really?
How much of the “compassionate” trait is her true self and how much of it is just a valid reaction to the terrible circumstances she has been put in?
When she is trying to get him to run away with her she says something among the lines of “they say he hurt you”, which indicates that she might have already known Theon was there and what had happened to him, before she even saw him.
She might have not recognized him were it not for that prior knowledge.
And her wanting to run away with him probably isn’t because she is into him. It’s because she wants to run away.
They are not friends. They are co-victims.
So, consistent-cannony traits of Jeyne Poole:
She likes sweets (lemon cakes, strawberry pie)
She doesn’t like violence (remember the tourney in King’s Landing?)
She has a thing for older guys, redheads or possibly both (Theon, Robb, Beric)
Is she compassionate? I’d like to believe so. I think what she’s been through since we last saw her making fun of others appearance can drastically change her vision of the world through a very sad and undeserved manner.
Jeyne Poole might have been mean and shallow but people don’t deserve to be flogged, sold into prostitution at age 12 and then also be married off to Medieval-themed-Bubba Sawyer and Hannibal Lecters’ love child because of possibly being a mean and shallow preteen. Most preteens are mean and shallow.
Is she genuine in her affections for Theon?
Yes! She is 14. She is not a master manipulator. I think she has some form of positive attachement to him. But the reasons behind that affection can be a little twisted, although that wouldn’t be her fault.
And with this I want to expand on what I meant with the “his one act of heroism”
Part of what has made me feel conflicted by Theon/Jeyne as a ship (still guilty! Very guilty!) is how he thinks of her.
He victim-blames her, complains about her crying (she has a lot of reasons to cry!), he even damns her during TWOW, but this is all internal. From the very beginning his actions towards her are surprisingly tender and very gentle. The only exception I can think of when the tones in his internal and external treatment of her are inverted is during TWOW when he says “Jeyne Poole is the next thing to a whore” but then follows with “he meant no hurt to her”, which sounds heartbreakingly remorseful as you read it.
In most works focusing on TheonJeyne, both through a platonic or romantic lens, fluff and hurt/comfort are some of the most used tropes, with angst being a close second.
14-year-old-me loved those. 21-year-old-me still loves those very dearly, but also thinks there is a third more macabre option to be explored and I’m eagerly waiting for that option.
@/nosafeanchorage and @/brideoffires made some well-explained and extensive comparisons between the TheonJeyne dynamic and the ViserysDaenerys dynamic (here, here and here) and personally, I think there could even be a few parallels between the LittlefingerSansa dynamic too. (Fake identity, Littlefinger intending to hand Sansa to Harry in order to make her marry the heir- Theon handing Jeyne (against their will) to Ramsay in order to make him marry the heir, the girls don’t know of some of the viler acts of the guys who are “helping” them, at some point the men dreamed of marrying someone who was close to the girls (Petyr-Cat) (Theon-Sansa))
Of course, the TheonJeyne dynamic significantly differs from those two in the facts that Theon is (somewhat) genuinely interested in her well-being simply because she is a fellow human being, and not because he is lusting for the scared girl he acts as some sort of twisted protector for, and that he also doesn’t hold any real power over her like Viserys/Littlefinger held/holds over Daenerys/Sansa.
But I do think, that Theon isn’t beyond taking emotional advantage of her.
Should he survive past the Theon TWOW preview-chapter and also remain in company of Jeyne, I think it could be easy for this 14-year-old girl with no house, no name, no family, no identity, to see Theon as her winged knight. Not necessarily through a romantic lens (I doubt it, but it might be possible too. She’s 14. 14 year olds have weird crushes and she in a horrible mental state), but simply out of dependence.
The only other person we know of who Jeyne is/was close with is Sansa, who has no idea what happened to her, and Jeyne also probably has no idea what happened to Sansa.
Theon is her ride or die as Jeyne Poole.
Theon is her only friend.
Theon.
This is dangerous.
Theon is my favorite character. I made this idiot one of my favorites when I first read him kicking that head like a college student would and then I made him my all time favorite during ACOK! I’ve been rooting for this guy since I was 13!
Me, talking to my dad on the way to the hospital after reading Theon V, ACOK for the first time in my life back in 2014:
I believe he is capable of good. I believe in him. I want him to make good choices and be a good person. I want him to succeed in life. I want him to have healthy, mutually loving relationships with Asha, Wex and Dagmer! I want him to eventually become friends with Qarl and Tris and Hagen’s daughter! I want him to reencounter Patrek, Barbrey and Bran and have emotionally cathartic reunions!
I WANT HIM AND JEYNE TO HAVE A BOND THAT IS COMPLEX BUT POSITIVE AND AFFECTIONATE!!!
I want him to be loved and cherished. I want him to be seen as capable of doing good and as deserving of being good to.
But that’s what I want him to be. Not who he currently is.
Currently, he is an enemy of the state! Which state? Pretty much all states! Everyone hates him! Last we heard of him he was chained to a wall while people were planning his execution. Preferably, they wanted him to be burned alive. The only people who canonically and explicitly have some positive-affection for him are his mom, who he hasn’t seen in 11 years, his sister, whom the relationship with is already kind of messed up, Dagmer Cleftjaw who might not even be alive, maaaaybe Wex Pyke and fucking Jeyne Poole, who has no one else in this world!
Jeyne Poole, who might not even know of all the things he is hated for.
Jeyne Poole, who in her desperate plea for help offered to become his wife or whore and for him to become her man.
Jeyne Poole, who strokes his cheek and smiles and says “you saved me” like some lovelorn maiden in a song.
Jeyne Poole, who used to watch him play in the yard and thought he was handsome.
Jeyne Poole, who could easily begin to idolize him.
Now, I don’t think Theon would use that for nefarious purposes like Littlefinger or Viserys do/did. But I can imagine he might need the emotional support and someone who actually sees him as a good person deserving of good things. Even if he thinks he is not. And I can imagine he would maybe hide some things and semi-unconsciously manipulate this girl a bit due to the fear of losing such. With manipulate I mean:
- not letting ANYONE know who she really is
- remarking on her lack of importance as Jeyne Poole
- the unusual tenderness
Until now all these things have been done with the best of intentions. Theon genuinely wanted to protect her and get her away from Ramsay and he is very probably right about how poorly people would treat her if they knew of her true identity. I believe that, if going by the stuff I wrote prior, this can all still be part of his intentions.
I believe he can also be motivated by the somewhat-selfish need of having someone who believes in him and doesn’t see him as a despicable person (bonus points if he can also hold some sort of power over that person, even if it’s just of the emotional sort).
I believe both of these things can coexist without being mutually exclusive. People are complicated and this guy has a lot of issues.

Basically yes they accused you of being a Sansa stan because Rhaegar and R/L shippers hate Sansa and her stans because, by and large, Sansa stans hate Rhaegar and think Lyanna was a victim. Sansa stans use her parallels with Joffrey in KL as a hostage to make parallels with Lyanna. Sansa stans, by in large, are anti-Dany, anti-Rhaegar, and anti-targ, and hate R/L as a ship for.....obvious fucking reasons lmao. I don't particularly care about either of these two characters to call myself a fan, but it's been hilarious to witness as an outside observer.
Also, further information on inter-fandom relations lol.....Arya stans are aligned with Rhaegar/Lyanna/Dany/Targ stans, fully believe R/L was some uncomplicated love story lmaooo, and will have a positive effect on Jon, once again lmaoooooo. Arya stans tend to lose their god damn minds whenever Sansa fans try to make parallels between Lyanna and Sansa because only Arya is allowed to parallel Lyanna. This is totally because both girls were gender non conforming and not because Arya stans like to use Lyanna as proof Arya will be the Prettiest Girl Ever and be the next Helen of Tory a la Lyanna and get her own targ prince in the form of Jon. No, they totally don't have headcanons or make up fanon in that regard. Not. At. All.
Anyway, the amount of discourse over a ship where the author couldn't be fucked to give the two individuals involved an in text conversation over 30 years across five books is beyond hilarious.
Tumblr media
Imagine engaging in any if that unironcally and thinking you are in any way not deranged.
So, okay, let me wrap my head around their arguments. Rhaelya stans hate Sansa because..Sansa being a hostage makes Lyanna...look like she was a hostage...because there are parellels in both their situations. But of course Rhagear and Lyanna HAVE to be a love story, so naturally Sansa is antithetical to that because her story is a direct deconstruction of the false love story narrative.
And they also love Arya, because...Arya..looks like Lyanna...and isn't as hyper feminine as Sansa...so..therefore her fans think she aligns with Rhaegar because they...hate Sansa and pretend its a love story....
Even though the point of Lyanna Stark is that her untold narrative is comparative to both Sansa and Arya in different ways to showcase different aspects of the final years of a life in Lyanna we never knew. Sansa in a highborn girl trapped in a hostage situation where she has absolutely no way of escape, and is now forced to play along to her captors games because it is a matter of survival and watching them try to hold onto their goodness to varying degrees until someone helps them escape or not. And Arya, the more rambunctious girl who holds passions in things the boys do but knows she isn't supposed to engage in that stuff, but is encouraged by her brothers who ends up seperated and alone in the South far from her home and is forced into situations by proxy of having no one there to defend her against the adult soldiers.
But they are wrong in trying to align one sister over the other in who is the better Lyanna parallel. Because Sansa and Arya are not Lyanna. They are two aspects which tell us Lyannas story, but neither of them are actually Lyanna. There is only one character who represents Lyanna as a person, and thats her son.
No one is actually comparable to Lyanna Stark as a person, except for her son, Jon Snow.
Sansa and Arya are the motifs in which her story can be understood, but Jon is the character that tells us who she was as a person. Jon is the Winter Rose.
Also speaking of Jon idk how these people turn every single debate about these 4 characters (Rhaegar, Lyanna, Sansa, Arya, also Dany) into discussions about how THEY have the correct incest ship.
Like...
....
Can we leave Jon out of just one single discussion not about him or try to always pull him back into an incest debate? Please? You incest loving weirdos.

To think of it Sansa did have some Rhaegar kind of men who betray her or abused her. Joffery is basically 'Prince Charming' like Rhaegar who fits the bill, though he is like Robert too. Cersei and Joffery won her trust and betray her. Loras during tourney gave 'red rose' to Sansa while she was betrothed to a baratheon(Joffery). While Loras didn't hurt her, it's his family used her for her claim by offering another rose Willas who was older than her. Tyrion being the old man she married by which she was trapped in KL and Tyrion's family killed her family like Targs did to Starks. Baelish stealing and hiding Stark girl and Sansa wanted to go home like Lyanna. Marillion being handsome harp player musician who preyed on Sansa and compares her with Roadside Rose.
(Continuation of this convo)
You should be writing about parallels, not me. I forgot about Loras!! 😂 But yes, I agree! There’s a wonderful meta about the two Stark maidens, the two tourneys, the two roses, that I think you’d enjoy (link).
I know I’ve read speculation that Rhaegar could have promised to protect her from his father (winning her trust a la Cersei and Joffrey) and that’s why she went with him, and then her father and brother are killed (a la Ned and Robb), so it feels quite possible that Martin wants us to understand Lyanna through the Sansa lens.
With Lyanna’s personality more in line with Arya, it’s hard to know what we can surmise about her frame of mind throughout the story, but Sansa’s sincere belief that Loras was signaling some genuine feeling for her because he gave her a red rose while he gave the others white, her thought that he is the man she might marry, it does make me think Martin would write little Lyanna (who wept over a song) given to some of the same romanticism and, shall we say, flights of fancy. He even wrote Cersei having some pretty fanciful notions when it came to Rhaegar, so I have a very open mind about how he’d imagine a young girl viewing the prince before she knew better. Perhaps it wasn’t even romantically. I once saw people suggesting Rhaegar offered to help Lyanna escape her betrothal and then took her captive. Maybe that’s the right blend of Sansa & Arya?

We're 5 months into 2022 as of May 22nd. It's time for another look at just how fucked we are by checking in on
The Timeline
Elon Musk buys Twitter to own the libs. Wait actually he changes his mind. Maybe actually yes. Wait. What about all the bots? Maybe no. Lots of people are jumping ship
Eurovision happened. Something about banana wolves and pussy salad? Idk man, but Ukraine won
Square Enix sold a bunch of IPs for... NFTs. Like Deus Ex and Tomb Raider. For. NFTs.
BTW NFTs and crypto fell hard recently
BTW BTW, one of the biggest NFT guys behind those ugly monkeys tried to make a dating site for themselves, then called it off because of too many dudes
Speaking of dating, Dead By Daylight is making a dating sim called DBD Hooked on You, made by the same people that made the KFC dating sim. Now you can date your favorite serial killers and be the "I can fix him" girl you've always wanted to be
Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers came back in the weirdest possible way. Look aesthetics aside, I mean it when I say weird. Like Ugly Sonic makes an appearance weird. Like two characters got together that had no business getting together weird. Like Chip n Dale not sounding like Chip n Dale weird.
You know that bird that was in Lion King? Zazu? Yeah his species is going extinct. I thought it was a toucan or something but nah, thats a Yellow Billed Horn Bill, and climate change is wiping them out.
MCR is back- again! This time Measles didn't come with them
Unfortunately Monkeypox did. Yeah turns out it's was around before in 2003 or so, even 2021. Do some googling but try not to panic. There are treatments from the looks of things so we're already better off than we were with Covid, but educate yourselves on the matter to be safe, and don't brush off warnings.
Fairly Odd Parents has a live action Paramount+ series where Timmy leaves very 2d Cosmo and Wanda to some very not 2d and live kids when he goes off to college or something idk. Btw, Vicky works at the school now. Btw btw, Vicky has a crush on- go ahead and guess- no seriously try it you'll never get it- it's Crocker. Twitchy ass FAIRY god PARENTS ass ear on his neck ass Crocker. Yeah she was 16 during the regular show and he was still middle aged and yes this did come out of nowhere, why do you ask?
Digimon Survive survived development hell and is actually coming out in like 2 months, and seems like it might be a VN with Tactical RPG elements and a karma system- oh and teens will probably die, most definitely
Avatar actually put out a trailer for its new movie. No no not the fun one with the bald kid or buff tomboy- the one with blue people that have sex with their hair
Warner Bros really weren't joking when they decided to make a co-op Smash clone of characters like Batman, Arya Stark, Jake the Dog, and Ultra Instinct Shaggy. It's real. I swear I saw it. I stg Batman and UI Shaggy really fought against Bugs Bunny and fucking Arya Stark. I wish I was lying.
Kingdom Hearts 4 is announced, and Sora has gone down from a size 32 clown shoe to a size 13 as he steps into the most disturbingly realistic world in the franchise yet.
Oh and this was a couple of months back, but Robert Pattison and Zoë Kravitz were interviewed by a Vtuber named LaPlus (La+?) Darkness from the Japanese side of Hololive, where she asked him how he used the bathroom in the Batman suit, and he gave a fun answer. He actually looked happy
And to end it on a somewhat bittersweet note. Scrat finally got the nut. That fucked up squirrel from Ice Age that caused several natural disasters, broke the laws of physics, broke EARTH- he finally. Finally got his nut. His struggle is over.
Until we meet again

Sansa's question to Jon in 8x01 was answered...by the dialogue
I feel like we all already know this but me being me, I had to put it into a post lol.
youtube
Sansa: "Did you bend the knee to save the North? Or because you love her?"
Jon: *crickets*
We know that Sansa gets her question answered in 8x02 in her scene with Dany in the library:
youtube
Dany: "Now I'm here, half a world away, fighting Jon's war alongside him. Tell me, who manipulated whom?"
Sansa:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, Sansa does get her question answered, right here. And while the GA should have gotten confirmation from this as well, the show made sure to go back to it one final time, and leave no trace of a doubt as to what Jon's answer to Sansa's question was:
youtube
Sansa: "That doesn't mean I want to kneel to someone to--"
Jon: "I swore myself and the North to her cause!"
Arya: "I respect that."
Sansa: "You respect it?"
Arya: "We needed her. We needed her army, her dragons. You did the right thing."
And the funny part about this double confirmation/solidifying of Jon's answer is that it plays back into 8x06 with this:
Bran: "It's your choice."
While this line is about Jon choosing for Sansa and Arya to be told the truth about his parentage, it also links to this scene:
youtube
Here, Jon is struggling with the aftermath of the choice he made, and Bran is the one to give him confirmation that he did the right thing.
Bran: "You were exactly where you were supposed to be."
This whole thread of dialogue in these episodes confirm exactly why Jon chose to bend the knee (besides Jon saying it over and over again outside of this thread lol), what choice he needed to make, and that he made the right one.
They didn't let Jon answer directly himself in 8x01 because again, they were keeping something hidden for him (a la season 7 style), and they wanted to subvert the Jonerys romance/Targ restoration expectations at the end of the season. But they showed us in other ways just what Jon's answer truly was.
"I swore myself and the North to her cause!" Love is the death of duty indeed. In more ways than one.
Bonus:
Tumblr media
The 8x04 scene is literally a parallel to the 8x01 scene here with these two parts. Jon is relieved when he hears both Sansa's reply (in 8x01) and then Arya's (8x04). Before these replies, Sansa and Jon had been arguing over Dany and his bending the knee to her.
Arya was meant to be a voice for Jon when Jon couldn't have one.
All very purposeful.

ARYA STARK: The “Masked Vigilante” Trope
This is something that dawned on me during Arya Month, but I didn’t get around to put it into words: the fact that I don’t remember this specific association being made when trying to dissect and categorise Arya’s current arc, and how it may be defined, even though the bits and pieces are ever touched upon - the acting under different identities, the justice, the actions of retribution outside of official/governmental law, etc, it all points to me to an arc of a masked vigilante/justiciar.
The “(masked) vigilante” trope has been popular for these past couple hundred years at least, from the more traditional/historical one like Zorro or Robin Hood, to the more modern characters like Spiderman or Batman.
The loose defition of a (masked) vigilante is as
a member of a self-appointed group of citizens who undertake law enforcement in their community without legal authority, typically because the legal agencies are thought to be inadequate
In popular culture, (masked) vigilantes act outside the bounds of official law, often depicted as ineffectual, incompetent, corrupt, powerless, or even as the "villains" (Robin Hood is set particularly against the privileged, and Zorro fights the unfairness of a cruel government). They are depicted to have as a motivator the defense or justice of the powerless.
There is often a "catalyst" that puts the hero on this path, often being represented by witnessing injustices that marks their views of the world, either against themselves or loved ones, or other vulnerable people. Batman is marked by the death of his parents during a violent crime, Spiderman by his uncle's. Zorro is a privileged landowner who cares about those bellow him and sees them as people worth of being treated with humanity. He goes on to create a different identity with the purpose of bypassing (and fighting against) corrupt and tyrannical officials in power on behalf of the commoners and indigenous people of California.
"It began ten years ago, when I was but a lad of fifteen," he said. "I heard tales of persecution. I saw my friends, the frailes, annoyed and robbed. I saw soldiers beat an old native who was my friend. And then I determined to play this game. (The Curse of Capistrano)
Arya Stark fits the trope to a point. The defining catalyst moments she goes through are both one of a personal kind, and another (or rather several) of injustice against vulnerable, lowborn innocents. One is the death of her father, the other (first) is the death of Mycha. The circumstances of both (or all) share the typical catalyst of the making of a vigilante: the fault lies in a corrupt, unjust body of government, and the general lawlessness of the entitled, vain Westerosi nobility.
Arya has in fact travelled with a company of outlaws loosely inspired by Robin Hood and his men - one of men not masking their identities, but rather 'hiding in the open', claiming to operate against the privileged on behalf of the poor (The Brotherhood without banners). Arya on her own would rather fall under the same category as Zorro (heavily used as inspiration for the more modern Batman and the likes), a character born into privilege but unable to close her eyes to (or least of of be complicit in) the injustices against the least fortunate. Like Diego de la Vega (Zorro), Arya considers those like Mycah or Lommy friends worth caring and seeking justice for (though crimes against the faceless victims like the innkeeper's daughter are seen as equally worthy of such, but the point made is this is no condescending, detached - or even egocentric - of a highborn person overseeing the extension of their divine rights, but genuine, human empathy).
Vigilantes depend upon their acrobatic skills and intelligence to succeed in their work.
In addition to having exceptional tactical skills, (Zorro) specializes in infiltrating heavily guarded enemy structures or territories, espionage and improvised explosive devices. His calculating and precise ability as a tactician allowed him to also use weapons as an extension of his skillful hand. He is also a weapons expert and a master of escape and camouflage. He is also good at deciphering numerous languages, both spoken and written. Zorro also masters body language, gestures and symbols, facilitating communication with locals regardless of ethnicity or language.
Arya is well versed in the trope of "masked identities". Halfway through her Harrenhal arc, the initiative of the "justice seeker" joins it to create the idea of the "vigilante", facilitating the deaths of rapists and abusers indirectly, and removing the branch of the Lannister corrupt government presiding over Harrenhal. It is not “Arya” who is known to have done any of this, though, the identity of the vigilante in the shadows shifting between the mysterious deaths of the Ghost of Harrenhal and Weasel and her soup. In these situations Arya uses her intelligence, but she is otherwise inexperienced (even naive, in thinking that, by default, a Northener leadership - as opposed to the Southern Lannisters - is of a nobler, more honorably acting nature).
In the House of the Undying, she develops her life experience and knowledge of the world, and expertise in all of the above, however: camouflage, espionage, languages, the intricacies of understanding the meaning behind facial expressions and body languages, and controlling her own. Although the institution she serves has different ideals, she continues to follow her own, applying justice as per her judgement in her actions: the deserter, the fraudalent insurance man implied to take advantage of desperate widows and children, the murderer and rapist.
All things considered, the difference we may assume for the future is the "cool rich man" choice men like Diego (Zorro) or Bruce (Batman) would make in how they present themselves. Arya is definitely set to return to her station in life as a noble woman of a prominent family. But her circumstances are not theirs. She cannot afford to fake a typical (powerless) role in her society as a woman without discarding her freedom to act; not to be seen acting as a woman perpetuates a whole gender’s helplessness. Arya is altogether a very outspoken and instinctually acting person, on top of that, though we may still be able to see her as concealing her bigger talents.
That side of the romantic cliche vigilante doesn’t fit in the more gritty ASOIAF world, letting you forget that men in power like Diego de la Vega and Bruce Banner have the power for outspoken, structural change, for example. These stories, unlike Arya’s, also often sanitise the concept of the ‘hand at justice’: the hero can never kill villains, no matter how abhorent, else they ‘become as bad as them’ (laughably ‘romantic’ a notion for anyone who has heard ‘what about all the henchmen of the big villain who appear to die?)
