For the consideration of the privy council: Grantaire introducing Enjolras to music and cinema.
Consider Enjolras who is "austere in his enjoyments" learning that there is such thing as music that is not just background music to work to, and film that is not just designed to teach you something.
Consider Grantaire gaping at Enjolras for never having heard of the Beatles, sitting him down and forcing headphones over his fluffy golden hair to force him to listen to 'A Day in the Life'.
Enjolras going "this is so stupid" until it hits the second verse and he suddenly becomes very quiet.
Grantaire dragging Enjolras along to the cinema to watch reruns of The Fellowship of the Ring, after which Enjolras grumbles the whole way home, but asks to see the next movie just to "make sure they're all bad".
Grantaire showing up on Enjolras' doorstep with an armful of DVDs because he just has to educate him.
Enjolras discovering Wes Anderson, and the concept of comfort movies, curling up to watch a film not because it means anything or has a deep political comment to make about the human race, but just because it's fun.
Grantaire watching Enjolras more than the film.
Grantaire letting Enjolras borrow his Spotify to find something he likes and almost tearing up when Enjolras says "have you heard of this band called Fleetwood Mac? I've been listening to a couple of their songs".
Grantaire desperately trying to explain to Courfeyrac that it's "not a date! Enjolras has just never been to a proper concert before!"
Enjolras suggesting they share wired earbuds because it's "more efficient" and definitely not because it means they have to sit closer together.
Enjolras learning that life is not about how efficiently you plough through it.

Spoilers for Glass Onion
So I watched Glass Onion today and the whole mystery of who done it is basically told to you if you know Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders from Mars plot
So Star plays when Birdie is twirling and Miles is poisoning Dukes glass. Star is a song about Ziggy, the titular character of the album, who wants to be famous and get money as the world ends. Now cause i’m dense and i put it together later I thought Birdie might’ve been “Ziggy” she did have the dress for it, but later in a flashback scene they play Starman when Miles is introduced to the group. Starman is basically a song that Ziggy sings in album as what he sees himself as a outta this world guy who basically graces the world with his presence, basically what egotistical to the max Miles sees himself as.
So this firmly establishes Miles as Ziggy a egotistical asshole who wants money and fame. The fame part is realllllly cemented with the fact that Miles wanted to be talked about in the same vain as the Mona Lisa. Now the thing about the album Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars is that in the song “Ziggy Stardust” it is revealed that Ziggy dies before the end of the world, brought down by his fans, Miles fans being Claire, Birdie, Lionel, and Whiskey who in the end of the movie agree to tell the truth and bring Miles down.
The whole movie really told to you in two songs if you have a little background knowledge about that album
Weirdest time for a hyperfixation from like 3ish years ago to come in handy

[ but stardust covered me whole, so i danced, for it was all i had left. ]
but stardust covered me whole, there was no time for anything: all i had to do was spinning around, and glow; I did my job, so well, i started believing i was the sun: I burned for so long.
But why then if all it was, was an illusion, do i long for it still?
Somehow i can’t go back to what i was before, somehow i mutilated parts of me that cannot be known anymore.

I'd really love to see N being introduced to the music of David Bowie at some point between BW and BW2. Bowie's music is all about struggling to accept one's humanity, yet still learning, step by clumsy step, how to enjoy it. And I figure it may be a way for N to learn to reconcile himself to his humanity, to slowly learn to take pleasure in it—for while there's a piece of him that will always feel estranged from it, he might be granted the peace to be able to explore that estrangement, and to find little gorgeous flecks of silver in the grey areas.

There are times when I look at my life and wonder what it would have turned out to be if I had never found David Bowie. He’s shaped my life in innumerable ways I’m still realizing 12 years after the first time I was introduced to him.
Sometimes my insecurities and pride scream at me “stop revolving your life around this one man” because of traumas regarding my hyper-fixations. But then I remember how much he’s shaped me and improved my life. He’s inspired me to pursue my artistic endeavors, he emboldened me to escape the cult I was raised in, he’s comforted me when I’ve felt like an outcast.
David Bowie has simply improved my life. Every time I’m back on my Bowie bullshit my life gets better and brighter. So am I obsessed with him? One thousand percent, but I’m not going to feel insecure about it any longer.
So I’ve made this blog to be an outlet for my fanaticism and to meet other Bowie friends. So please like or reblog this post so I can find you all. I’m especially excited for Moonage Daydream and want to get hyped up with fellow fans for its release.
