I think that I am returning to normal

#I'm not so dissociated I let things happen anymore.#I. think I want to run away from home again #I hope I can I hope that I can leave and I can live my life #as risky as it is... I might go to the mainland if I do #which basically only gives me about three places that I would have a chance in. because I can't really cope with heat #melbourne I know the best but has the highest risk because it's the closest and I might get recognised #slash have family sent after me.#adelaide is. adelaide. no offence #and perth would be tricky to get to in the first place because there aren't direct flights to there from here and. I can't drive.#so I would have to go to one of the previous two or sydney to go there and. quite frankly? I'd rather not.#planning ONE flight away from here will be hard enough #but if I can go and get a flat. and if I go distance I'll probably still be able to continue uni #as much as I hate being at uni it is why I have money and it will give me something to do #as soon as I get there and at least somewhat settled. maybe go to ikea for the first time idk. get an app with a doc asap #get onto hrt and a surgery waitlist #I know that 730 just did a whole report on elective surgery being Bad at the moment and that here is 'doing well'#but that did not do much research into actually what's going on here. because the waitlist might be smaller #there's still a waitlist for the waitlist!#and that's for a first appointment not even a surgery or anything #besides which there's. like. only about five trans-friendly medical professionals here and none of them do surgery anyway #so with my original referral I'm doing some real gambles with it

HAPPY 42ND BIRTHDAY TO HRH THE PRINCESS OF WALES, CATHERINE ELIZABETH ♡

Catherine Elizabeth (nee. Middleton) was born to Michael and Carole Middleton at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading, on 9 January 1982. She was christened when she was six months old at the parish church of St. Andrew’s Bradfield in Berkshire on 20 June.

Catherine studied in nursery school in Amman during her family's time in Jordan. After moving back to the UK, she joined St. Andrew’s School, from where she went on to study in Marlborough College in Wiltshire, studying Chemistry, Biology, and Art at A-level.

The Princess undertook a gap year gap year studying at British Institute in Florence, working with Raleigh International programme in Chile, and crewing on Round the World Challenge boats in the Solent. In 2001, she enrolled in the University of St. Andrew’s where she met William for the first time to study Art history.

Cat and William fell in love during their time at uni, and married at Westminster Abbey on 29 APRIL 2011 at Westminster Abbey. The couple have three adorable cupcakes Prince George (b.2013), Princess Charlotte (b.2015) and Prince Louis (b.2018). The family of five divide time between their official residence, Kensington Palace and their two private residences - Amner Hall & Adelaide Cottage.

Upon her wedding, Catherine became HRH The Duchess of Cambridge, The Countess of Strathearn and Lady Carrickfergus. She received the titles of the Duchess of Cornwall & The Duchess of Rothesay upon King Charles's accession to the throne. William and her were made The Prince and Princess of Wales by him on 9 September 2022.

As well as undertaking royal duties in support of The King, both in the UK and overseas, The Princess devotes her time to supporting a number of charitable causes and organisations with some of her key areas of interest being Early Childhood Development, Children's Mental Health, Visual Arts and Sports among others.

gustav's mom (mrs. larson) is valka & snotlout's mom's sister!! gustav is hiccup & snotlout's cousin!! he's 12 when they're abt 15 years old so they tend to find him annoying. snotlout enjoys making him do stuff for him & bc gustav craves attention, he looks up to snotlout a lot (like riders of berk)

he rlly wants to help at the sanctuary but the gang feel like 12 is a little young to be around dragons all the time. but gustav does help in his own way!! his class was one of the first ever to have a field trip & get a show abt each of the dragons the gang works with!! it's SO amazing. changes gustav fr fr.

when he's 16 the gang are 18-19, out of high school & off at college once summer is out. snotlout is there full time, so with permission he lets gustav help as a paid intern. gustav has already bonded with fanghook by this point & kinda wants to be the stoker class expert (not on snotlout's watch tho 😤)

gustav is their annoying little brother but i think they'd overall be kinder to him, esp with the added thing of me making him hiccup & snotlout's first cousins. at family events they'll sometimes let him join them in hiccup's basement & try to play video games with them. once he's older it's that, and a lot more deep talks. advice talks.

when hiccup & snotlout go through their lowest points (snotlout after everyone leaves for uni, hiccup after his father's death) u better believe gustav is one of the first ppl there. he finds them annoying too, tbh. but it breaks him seeing them in such states bc he puts them on pedestals when he rlly shouldn't.

gustav is also rlly close with snotlout's little sister, adelaide, who's originally from the books!! i like to bring her into the dreamworks franchise bc i think snotlout deserves a little sister. gustav & adelaide are besties tho. they're sibling like in their behavior & it even extends to snotlout when it comes to gustav.

he'll eventually work at the sanctuary full time, but for what's currently in my head, he's an intern & their annoying little brother they love :)

SpaceTime is Australia’s most popular and respected astronomy and space science news program – averaging over two million downloads every year. We’re also number five in the United States. The show reports on the latest stories and discoveries making news in astronomy, space flight, and science. SpaceTime features weekly interviews with leading Australian scientists about their research. The show began life in 1995 as ‘StarStuff’ on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation’s (ABC) NewsRadio network. Award winning investigative reporter Stuart Gary created the program during more than fifteen years as NewsRadio’s evening anchor and Science Editor. Gary’s always loved science. He studied astronomy at university and was invited to undertake a PHD in astrophysics, but instead focused on his career in journalism and radio broadcasting. Quaritch and recom Quaritch are not the same characters. I mean second is a clone with implanted memories so why always I read about this character all people write like both are the same? Recom Quaritch feels and acts because of memories from human Quaritch. For me it's weird because I hated a lot original Quaritch but when I watched Avatar 2 I was like nooo way I like his clone?. haha Just to add other point of view. Greetings, thank you!

Dear anon,

I'd like to preface this reply by saying I don't know how the fandom depicts him, really. I discuss him with friends in the recom-centric server, and I read their snippets and some of their fics, but I'm one of those writers who avoids reading the characters they write.

My brain is aggressively pantser oriented. If I read a story, if I even imagine it in full, then "it is told" and I lose interest in writing it. "Two cakes" only exists as a reader for me. I can't write the second take on a concept I've read. It feels like a chore. I also dislike reading a really smart idea about the character because I might feel like I can't implement it.

I like to give myself time to come up with my own strong vision of a character before I start reading them written by others. If I pick up a fic with them it'll usually be with a concept/style I'd never go for (that includes smut).

So yeah, I don't know how "the fandom" portrays him. I'll give you my two cents though, for free :

Quaritch and Recom Quaritch ARE the same person. By design. They share the same memories. I am totally writing a fic in which the memories are edited, but that's not hinted at in canon.

A clone with memories is meant to be the same, on day 1. He is designed to be the same. He's made in universe by the RDA to be the same, and by the Avatar team to be the same.

What makes recom Q interesting is that he starts diverging from that day 1 onward. Every experience he has is filtered through the qualia of a fundamentally alien body. Taste, smell, vision, hearing, touch, experience of pain, not to mention the sensory blast of having new limbs and organs!

And then new experiences a smart recom can't miss : potential discrimination, bottom of the company totem pole (a loss of privilege a white man with titles like Quaritch must feel keenly), the way they're turned into disposable guinea pigs from the 1st mission, the impossibility of going back home, the fact they're basically slaves, company owned bodies and endlessly duplicable minds...

They get time to think on all that. Does it affect them? Do they double down on their mission out of spite? Hope for a better future? A shot at freedom? Are they brain-dead killers looking to shoot things no matter what body they're in? (Looking at you Lyle..)

That's where the tasty lives. In that dichotomy between a human mind that makes them the same, and an alien body that makes them different. That's why recoms, Q and others, are so compelling. There's a ton of room for emotional angst, and a lot of directions to take character growth in as we patiently await.

I feel like different writers will make him go places at different paces, and that's fine. He hasn't changed that much over the course of the film. We don't know Avatar 1's Quaritch that well, so how much atwow changes Recom Q is really up to interpretation.

But I feel like this is just arguing on philosophy.

You, as an individual, are in constant flux, but you are also informed by your past. Do you believe in determinism? In fate? In Free Will? Because there's a whole branch of philosophy/neurology that makes a VERY compelling argument that we don't have free will. It doesn't help that science has proven that our brain often sends signals before we've made a conscious decision to act.

It's still a very hot topic, as we don't know where consciousness resides/how it works (the philosophy of mind teacher in Adelaide uni opened his class by saying if we were smart about it there was a nobel prize to be won lol)

What's compelling about Recoms is that even if you believe in the absence of free will you have to admit that the change in qualia by definition alters their character and takes them down new roads. But it's fine to me if writers think the mind inside the recom is still human and struggles to remain true to itself for a long time.

A Quaritch desperate for change is as tasty as a Quaritch who struggles to hang on to his past as a raison d'être.

He's a babygirl because he's cursed. He carries the "sins of the father" in the most literal manner possible. Not only in universe but IN FANDOM. People actively blame Recom Quaritch for what Human Quaritch did in A1, not realising they are not the same person, even if Recom Quaritch still feels like they are and can replay the whole scene in his mind.

It's FUCKED and I'm soooo here for it!

It's also why it's so different with recom Q. He's not the same visually, and he's got so many new layers added by his situation that you're face first in a blue cake.

idk i really like certain characters and am invested in their relationships because we have relationships with everyone, positive or negative, and they define our lives, so of course i'm invested in their relationships, it is their relationships to other people that helps create who they are as a character and also forms the plot but i don't really consider myself a shipper and also i can't think of any more right now and also i'm kind of a little bit drunk so if i think of more i will add them, hella adaire and adelaide just came to mind. idk like i said hope this makes sense i had some tequila.

currently reading: the traitor baru cormorant by seth dickinson. listen. i've been reading this book for months. i love it, it's my girlfriend's favorite series and she's gotten drunk with seth before, but it's very heavy and has some very personal themes to me so it's been taking me a while to read it. and i had to put it on hold for a bit bc some things happened in my life and i got super depressed and had to read something a bit lighthearted for a bit. but i love it and am still reading it.

last watched: derry girls. it's a comfort show and i still hadn't seen the most recent season(s) so i'm like now i have to watch it all over again.

currently craving: yuca frita. for days. i need to go buy some yuca and make it myself bc my sister came home from uni and brought the air fryer and the yuca frita at my fave venezuelan restaurant doesn't travel super well.

I went digging about E&B's living situation and this is all I could find:

Eugenie and Beatrice shared a 4 bedroom apartment at St James’s. Bea got the apartment when she started uni in London and lived rent-free until 2012, when Andrew had to start paying rent, £20k a year (commercial rates were between £100-150k/yr). Ahead of Euge's wedding to Jack, they moved to Ivy Cottage at KP grounds. Bea stayed at SJ, Edo moved in, they bought a house in Cotswolds in 2021 and moved there in November 2022. It’s possible they still have some London place since Bea is often papped in London.

Euge and Jack moved to Royal Lodge around Covid, in Summer 2020 went back to Ivy Cottage and in late 2020 moved to Frogmore Cottage and stayed there only for 6 few weeks. Allegedly H&M wanted E&J to pay them rent and pro-Sussex source said they wanted to extend the lease so the family knew they weren’t going to disappear. This is an interesting H&M quote from May 2022 btw: „by agreeing to extend the lease, and with Jack and Eugenie focusing on Portugal, they have a firm presence smack-bang in the middle of Windsor Court where it’s all happening. They can now come and go any time they please. The coming year could be one of the most tumultuous in royal history and the Sussexes are making sure they have a foothold in Windsor.”

After moving out of FC in January 2021, E&J went back to RL and 2021 is when things get murky, I couldn’t find any reports, there were some articles that said they lived at FC again until 2022, who knows.

Early May 2022 is when things get interesting again, there are first reports of then-Cambridges moving to Adelaide Cottage and York sources come out saying that Euge and Andrew tried to secure the cottage for her and would have if it wasn’t for Andrew’s scandals. Then the same month it’s announced that E&J will move to Portugal for Jack’s work and will use Ivy Cottage again as their UK base.

Now we’re in 2023 and according to OK! Magazine, so I’m going to take it with a grain of salt, tho some parts are quite interesting. E&J moved back to FC in February and H&M couldn’t be happier that they took it over, Andrew is also happy that Euge got it, E&J packed up H&M’s items and when they visited, also in February, they brought small personal belongings, E&J want their kids to be brought up in England but also want to split time between England and California and will be staying in Montecito with H&M.

Anon, you are a little investigative genius! Thanks so much for all this. I think that if Eug had Frogmore, it would have come out for sure around the leaks about the lease ending. All we got was Andrew instead, and it feels like Andrew would get it over her, to be honest. I can see her packing up their stuff, but we've heard so much about Eug's living situation.

Like I said earlier, anyone who isn't paying market rent now, soon will be. Charles is cleaning house.

As for this: "The coming year could be one of the most tumultuous in royal history" - boy were the Sux right, but it seems to be moreso for them than anyone else!!
