I feel like people haven't really understood The Lost Hero, because like... "I think the reasons Piper and Jason broke up make sense. Their relationship is based on fake memories and blah blah blah"

THE LOST HERO IS LITERALLY ABOUT PIPER HAVING AN IDENTITY CRISIS, BECAUSE SHE LEARNS HER MEMORIES ARE FAKE AND SHE HAS TO LEARN TO ACCEPT IT.

The whole crux of Jasiper in The Lost Hero is they're slow and shy and even ashamed to a degree about their feelings, because they are afraid it'd be those fake memories pushing them into this.

Like, I feel like The Lost Hero couldn't be more obvious about the fact that they like each other for real, and they're the only ones who can't see it.

Piper already learned this lesson in The Lost Hero, why is this treated like a new development in The Burning Maze?

Also,

Aphrodite smiled. “Because you are my daughter, Piper. You see possibilities much more vividly than others. You see what could be. And it still might be—don’t give up."

It wasn't Hera, or Aphrodite who gave Piper the memories of dating Jason. It was Piper. Like, the way I think about it, it's like when you meet this boy, and you develop a crush, and you start making up all these fantasies about dating him in your head.

In other words, all Hera did was "introduce" Jason to Piper's brain, and because Jason is very sweet, and nice, and funny, Piper's brain was like "Yes, this guy, more please."

I dunno. I always found it cute. She's basically just dealing with an unrequited crush, just dressed up in a magic packaging.

I do think there should be more emphasis put on the fact that there are differences between how Piper "remembers" Jason, and what he's really like, and over the course of the book, she realizes that she likes real Jason more than her idealized version of him.

No one gaslit no one into liking each other. Jason and Piper actively gave each other time to process things. The Lost Hero even ends with this:

Across the green, her cabin mates looked disappointed that they hadn’t witnessed a kiss. They started cashing in their bets. But that was all right. Piper was patient.

The patient bit was always the most important to me. Piper isn't rushing things.

I think Rick heard fans complaining that Jasiper is based on fake memories and how messed up that is, and course corrected. They wanted a major character death, more representation, a different personality for Piper, not having Piper constantly think about Jason, they didn't really like Jason...

And you know, I think he's valid. Like, this is a job to him. He's feeding his family. He doesn't have to care about these fake names on the page just because I do. He wanted to accommodate the fans, he probably wanted some more meaty character stuff after the last couple of books were kinda boring with Callypso and Leo and so on, he probably thought this would get people hooked and interested.

It's fine. I'm glad he's still making books, and getting work, and helping other creators. I don't think other writers are that invested in their characters either, but when I read like a Kami Garcia schmaltzy romance, it feels like it was written with the mindset of "How would I feel if my friend stopped talking to me? How would I feel if my loved one died?" and it makes the actions of the characters feel less cold and detached.

I'd have a panic attack if I was friends with Leo and he moved on a whim, and didn't seem all that broken up about not seeing me again. I'd feel like I am not worth a lot to him. Hell, I am 23, way older than they are, and I still cry, because my friend moved away this year. I pass his house, and I realize I feel nothing, and I don't wanna be there, because he's not there, and I cry. These characters don't cry about anything, unless someone dies. And even then, a few minutes later, it's back to normal.

I dunno, is this what makes it more accessible to middle-schoolers? I feel like middle-schoolers would be even more terrified of the prospect of a friend moving away and not even feeling that sad over leaving them behind.

EDIT: Furthermore, if you think Hera put fake memories of a relationship into Piper's head... TO WHAT END?! To what end?! How does that benefit Hera in any way? Why would Hera care? Rick has done a pretty interesting thing with Hera lately by making her actually love Jason like a son, but that relationship was a lot more reserved at the time of HoO. Why would she care if he gets a girlfriend? Why would she think Piper is a good match for Jason? I feel like the last thing Hera would want for Jason is a relationship with Piper, like, common, Hera hates Aphrodite, they're like polar opposites, and the Trojan War started because of their argument (Athena was involved too, but Hera has different reasons to dislike her). Hera is the goddess of marriage, who has stayed loyal to a man who cheats on her daily, do you think she would hitch her boy with the daughter of the only woman who's body count rivals Zeus'?

Just Another Day in Hades...(Requiem of the Survivors Event React I)

Hey hey everyone, we've got a fresh new event featuring our Hades bois!! We get a healthy dose of each noble, and seeing how they interact is quite amusing, just like how it was watching how our Avisos bois interact. It seems to me for their dynamic, our bois tolerate each other more than enjoy each other's company as they're too focused on living their lives for Leviathan (except for Glas who is literally trying to overthrow him but waiting for the right moment) But let's dive in because there's much to discuss regarding Levithan's lore and our eerily adorable Orias. (seriously he's like a doll, which they do describe him like that in the event story)

You know the drill lovelies, grab a snick snack, get comfortable, let's read my bullshit rambles while summarizing this thing. ( ˘▽˘)っ♨

First I wanna touch on how Glas and Foras are on patrol, (Hades looks so pretty btw) and he's just like hahahhaaha angels asses getting poke Foras how about that?

Foras goes to point out like matter of factly that whatever he's talking about isn't supposed to be used that way and Glas is like things are fully meant to be used for other purposes that's how you know it's good (basically how I took it) and Foras is 100% done with him lol So far their dynamic is "this is my annoying coworker that I must tolerate all the love of my boss"

Like foreal. Foras is a fan boy of Levi, just like Amon is a fanboy of Beel. OH and since it's a rainy day in Hades, Barbatos is hiding away in his coffin because he prefers sunny days (my sunshine, he's so particular, i'd cuddle with him in his coffin) And since it's about to rain again fucking Glas starts fucking around with Foras again

No, he wasn't wanting to hang out with him or being nice, he was calling Foras "small" compared to his more spacious coffin. He was really egging him on to get mad and start a fight, but Foras chills out and this bothers Glas. Lol And then there's a slurping noise, and Foras immediately is like "Glas wtf stop it." and Glas foreal wasn't doing anything this time, but-

This little dude shows up, our blood thirsty Orias.

So it's revealed here that Orias is taking apart an angel so he can eat the soul, which is a glowing orb of light. This glowing orb is edible...

Edible you say....

ANYWAYS different fandom cameo (inner joke for those who know)

And thus why I brought up Geto in the first place my lovelies. Exactly why. (if you don't get it, Geto is from JJK and swallows cursed souls and they're this huge ass orb he just eats who no gag reflex)

But a little before this, Foras and Glas are not happy to see Orias. At all. Turns out these two hate him, because he keeps trying to come after Leviathan's soul. Orias had originally been teasing with Foras saying that he probably hoped he wasn't gonna come back at all after being gone for so long (huh wonder if he's been out killing angels)

So every time he eats an angel orb, he gets even younger. So what I can already tell is that he's obsessed with being younger, so while he looks like a child, he's really thousands of years old (guesstimating because devils and angels have been around a long ass time in this universe)

Pit stop on Orias for a moment, but the more they describe him in the story, the more I'm convinced that while his design is cute, love his jewelry, he does appear very childlike. And we run into the entire Stolas thing again, however, Orias looks much younger than Stolas (to me anyway and his body is boyish too, this is explained in the story that he's smaller in stature as well) While I understand this is more of appearance, some of his mannerisms are even childish, the tantrums, the pouting, the whining (which come with age regression so I do think they hit that point pretty well)

SO after all that with Foras and Glas meeting Orias, they go to warn Levi about it, who's really blah blah blah whatever because he doesn't care about it too much. The other subjects though are rattled to hell,

And here he is, Orias making his grand entrance just bolding stating and asking for Levi's soul.

And Levi being the way he is lol

Just, no hanging, no punishment for Orias. Just a simple No.

I'm not gonna lie this was a surprise for me on Leviathan's attitude and character. Normally he's so abrasive and here he's being...hm? Soft...kinda like Solomon had a point in Chapter 5.

See? Orias has a noose and Levi doesn't even bother to use it. He's strangling a random subject that demanded Orias be punished (he was stupid to even speak he knows how Levi is lol)

So they explain how every devil wears a noose because it's a symbol of everyone's loyalty to Leviathan and that their lives belong to him in so other words. Live for Levi. Die by Levi. (why does this sound like a cult /hj)

Orias is an exception to this rule though. Leviathan is even having a small chat with Orias as if he never said what he said and he warns him about eating too many souls but Orias being himself, he can't get enough.

Also revealed that Orias is possibly older than Levi. They never really confirm his age btw but there's more lore about their history and dynamic here in a bit.

And it's brought up once more that Levi is lenient on Orias even after he's been so blunt and rude basically.

So some lore here! (so this is much faster to screenshot this instead of each indiv. screenshot lmao idky i didn't do this before)

in short Orias is a special cookie and has like VIP access to Levi's more chilled behavior. At first I didn't really understand that until I kept on with the story. But Levi is sending Orias off on a errand and he promises he can eat as many souls if he does it, but Orias only wants one thing...and well Levi just lies to him about promising a chance

And with that, Orias is off to do his errand but I honestly don't think he trusts that Levi says what he says. That and it's a known thing that some devils are capable of lying and that's because these two hold a special loophole.

but we'll get to that later.

Barbatos enters the chat! Our lovely sun devil is out in the semi-nude today because there's more sun. He literally stayed in his coffin all day because it was raining. I find that he and I are polar opposites on that front because I hate sunny days (where I live it's humid, not dry so the heat during the spring and summer is unbearable) I don't even like rainy days here unless it's like in the 60s and raining because at least it's not that damp, hot rain. ANYWAYS Foras btw was asking Barb who he was talking to and Barb is like THE SUN DUH <3 he speaks to her with his body and I think that's the cutest thing.

Ooop. Glas is a hater I see. It makes me wonder if he just doesn't like seeing Barb naked because he's too positive and bright about it. Barb even annoys Glas more by saying he loves being naked and Glas having these reactions to him doing so makes him laugh and more happy that he's being honest about his feelings. Oh Barb, i love u.

But yeah after he's basically telling the two emo bois in front of him what's up, Foras lets him know Orias is back and well...

Glas tells him (again) to put him clothes on and his freaking vines turn into clothing. That's dope.

Glas makes an observation that Orias may be that great of a devil if Barb doesn't even like him.

A lover huh? After you're done with loving the sun Barb, save your love for me I am hopeless, I need you to make me a bed of rose petals in your coffin and I'll sit in them (if I can fight through my issue with touching plants T_T)

Foras calls him out on that statement and I love his energy. Foras is that devil. That guy. He literally does not give a single fuck about it. (Unless it's MC he cares about what they think and Levi) Barb respects Orias in his own way. Meaning he don't respect him at all lmao be fr right now. But n o rlly he does explain why he has his own view. Orias is a good ally, and that if Levi sees him so highly then he must be alright in some way. Foras agrees that Levi doesn't make mistakes so that must be true.

But Glas comes in with the reality check. He doesn't trust him. He says everyone is pretty much blinded by Orias's appearance as being innocent.

He brings up the fact that he's literally trying to kill Levi, and he's older than him, might even be older than Luci. (interesting...) And the three of them just start arguing about who's right, and if Orias is really that bad or if Glas is just being weird again and gloomy and trying to start shit but it is mostly Glas starting shit so-

And low and behold all of them get strung up because Levi's ears were burning (not literally he just knew they were talking shit about someone else when he's not there to hear about it) see I told you all he'd just come by and be like "i heard you were talking shit...not in my palace you won't"

lol

Because Levi was jealous about them talking about Orias, all three of them get blasted with his energy and now they're jealous thinking why the fuck is Orias always spared but we can't catch a break. Levi finds this amusing so he stops punishing them. And Glas is quite perturbed because Levi goes right over to him and tells him he was doing too much. Glas challenges Levi on that and wants to know why it's them that gets punished when they've served Levi for years. Orias shows up and he acts the way he does and suddenly he's the majesty's bestie now or whatever.

As we see here, Levi is just really amused by all of this he doesn't even care of what Glas even said. It's pretty much him being like "oh look at the giant devil whining about not being my favorite. cute"

Levi asks Glas before we get here "who's the only other that can doubt and lie like I can?" No one can answer that but Levi explains that it's Orias and why. He was raised at the same 'farm' as him in heaven. BIG LORE STUFF. So it's confirmed that Orias and Levi know each other on another level. Our Hades bois are excited to hear more about their majesty's past because it was rare for any of the nobles to really know stuff like that, especially in levi's case. AND this is a great stopping point for part 1!!! See you all in part 2 ^^

What a convenient way to forget Nightwing's arc with the Titans, written by Taylor a few months ago, the beginning of his Titans. Where raven wasn't at all "just Gar's gf", right? Raven did things on her own, she wasn't there just to be with Gar, she had moments, she had a leading role, she had a role in the arc that was much more than just being Gar's girlfriend, did you forget all that? Raven having action, Raven showing her best qualities with Olivia…She was the best and more interesting character of that arc without doubts. And even though she was with Gar there, it was never like she was stuck to him, was it?… While Raven had a second leader role in this arc, what happened with Gar? Nothing (he wasnt there just as Raven's boyfriend tho).

Do you remember TT Academy? Where Gar was doing exactly what Raven is doing now? Being a moral support for her partner? (oh no! A couple that helps and supports each other!😨😟) I bet at that moment you didn't think that Gar was "just Raven's bf", no, I bet you were saying something like "they made Raven Weak! Raven doesn't need a man!" Blah, blah, blah.

Traumas? What traumas? You know damn well that the only reason we're seeing Gar's trauma is because of what happened in Dark Crisis; otherwise we wouldn't see shit about his trauma, just like we won't see the other Titans' traumas.

Do you know what character progression is? Something Raven went through under Wolfman's writing? Do you remember how she tried to have relationships back then? how she tried to love, right? Raven has been free of Trigon for years, stop the cap, she can express her emotions without problems since the 80s.

Stop the cycle, do you want Raven to be some kind of Redhood going through the same arc over and over again?

Do you want Raven to be exactly like she was 40 years ago in the damn 80s, when she debuted as an 18-year-old woman who didn't even have friends and couldn't express her emotions?? Holy character regression!

If you say that Raven is unrecognizable and a totally different character (if that makes you feel better, keep pretending that, I guess) then just stop reading the comics…easy, that easy.

Did you start reading a Gar comic, where Raven was only going to be a character in a supporting role because the comic focuses on Gar and only Gar, hoping that she wouldn't be a character in a supporting role? The joke tells itself. Did you want her to be the protagonist of Gar's comic? And don't say she's just Gar's girlfriend and nothing more when she literally had her own comic where Gar WASN'T there, no matter how bad it was, it was a comic of her, about her, with a story for her, Gar wasn't there(i bet you got maddd when Raven talked about him tho{1 line in a 30 pages comic, before you even say anything lmao}).

Before this new Titans comic what did Gar have? Nothing at all. Raven instead? She had the storyline of Unkindness, she had some small roles in that same storyline in TTA and Shazam(where she was also given some respect), she had an important role in Dark Crisis: The Deadly Green, and it didn't end there, she also had a big fight with The Spectre. Gar at the event, meanwhile, was only being used as motivation for Dick and nothing else (0 scenes of Gar with Raven or Cyborg even when they are the characters that should have been with him). (And not to mention the Titans United comics, those are not from the main earth, but Raven had a big role in the second one, and in none of them was she "just Gar's gf", i wasnt a big fan tho).

Oh and let's not forget the comic where once again Raven crossed paths with Trigon, and it wasn't the best thing in the world, but Gar wasn't there… she literally got a mini story for herself there in that Lazarus Planet tie-in, while Gar at that time only had the back up from Action Comics with Power Girl, where they once again ignored Raven and Victor and used Dick.

And there was also Knight Terrors: Titans, where once again, Raven wasnt there as "just Gar's gf".

Umm, no, just because a writer doesn't give focus to the character you want it means it is misogyny😂. There are 4 issues that don't focus on Raven, so he hates women? 😂, let's completely forget how he even put Donna in the role of leader in that mission(not much but is more than what she got in the last 3 years). They are setting up Beast World, of course they will focus on Gar. And even then, let's look at who's been focused on so far: Dick(who is Taylor's favorite and is being pushed by editorial as a super leader), Gar(who is being set up for something bigger) and Wally(who is part of a semi-plot from the comic). Vic isn't getting that much focus either, I guess that makes Taylor racist, right?… Don't worry, more moments will come for them, I repeat, ITS 4 ISSUES IN. Even Taylor has said that Kori will have more prominence in the next issues.

Do you remember the little arc with the Brotherhood of Evil and Madame Rogue?…who was the lead and who was in a supporting role?…oh yeah! Gar was the main character while the others were mostly sidelined… And that was by Wolfman and Pérez…

About the part of Taylor not knowing how to write women, Taylor isnt a perfect writer for sure, im not saying he is, and he isn't Gail Simone, he misses too, but yk one of his most acclaimed comics from marvel is a comic about a female character(X-23), right? Lol.

You say Taylor doesn't understand her, yet, he is probably writing the best version of Raven since Wolfman in the 80s. He clearly understand this character, and its funny that you pretend he doesnt. Cant even imagine how you reacted to Teen Titans Rebirth Raven🥴.

We both know that if Raven had these scenes she is having with Gar, with Donna or Kori instead, you wouldn't be saying shit. If Raven was saying "i love you" to Kori, or Donna, you wouldn't be saying shit…that's the funny part about this LMAO. You know your account isn't private, right? How do you expect someone to take your "raven cant express her emotions!!" seriously when we can see what you post? (And we can also read the comics...)

You aren't mad because Taylor doesn't understand Raven, you are mad here because Taylor isn't writing what YOU want.

Raven isnt the same character she was 40 years ago, just like Gar isnt, or just like Batman isnt the same character he was in the 80s or the 60s. Its called character progression(well, Bruce is in a deep whole right now lol). Raven has long passed her days of not being able to express her emotions, but you are saying she should go back to square 1?…

So yeah, I proved Raven in the past years has had more going on that just being Gar's gf. Raven by Tom Taylor has as well been more than "just Gar's supportive gf". And seriously, you were so mad about this that you made 3 posts complaining the same day lmao. You don't like it? STOP. READING. IT instead of reading it just to complain like a damn baby.

All that said, do you think i dont want more solo stuff for Raven?? Its really a shame Howard dropped the ball so hard with that story, a solo story of Raven that will barely mean anything at the end…

And…I dont know, how else would i find out about Raven's new content in this site?…

(seriously tho, you are in the tags, i could just ignore it, just as you could ignore the comics you dont like, but this time i decided i was gonna reply to such a dumb post).

Could you do a director's cut on Ron hearing about people at Hogwarts talking about Lily. Would love to get some insight on what kids are thinking of her badass era👉👈

Omg what a fun ask😅 Very long answer below the cut! ⬇️⬇️

Okay so first of all, Lily is gorgeous. I'm not really into writing a lot of physical character description because I want readers to be able to imagine the characters however they want to (as long as Lily still has red hair and green eyes, etc.) but whatever the word gorgeous means to you...Lily is that! And this is a T rated story, so I didn't get very...specific...about what the kids are saying about her. But...teenagers can be very crass. And the "hot teacher" fantasy is definitely a thing. I imagine there are students ogling her everywhere she goes, but she doesn't notice it because they're kids and Harry doesn't notice it because she's his mother. (Which is to say: Sigmund Freud is not welcome here, thank you very much😂)

And, like Hermione said in Chapter 28, the students just aren't used to having a teacher who doesn't seem significantly older than them. So Lily was immediately very interesting to the Hogwarts students. She's beautiful, she's young, she's famous, she's nice, she's probably well-dressed. Plus, she's mysterious. I imagine the explanation of how exactly she and Harry survived the Killing Curse is not common knowledge among people who don't know them well, and the fact that she was in a coma for 13 years and then suddenly woke up and became their teacher would be fodder for SO MUCH speculation and gossip.

Basically, for any Derry Girls fans reading this. Lily is sort of like the Hogwarts version of Ms. De Brún. Mysterious, cool, stunning, thought-provoking, and — on the days when she takes the time to do her makeup — she has that "cracking eyeliner" 😂

So yeah, it doesn't take long for the students to become captivated by her — some of them fantasizing about her...some of them wanting to be her.

On top of all that, there's the whole issue of the mystery surrounding the graveyard incident and what exactly happened that caused Lily to wake up. I'm sure it would be very strange and confusing for the students because they'll be reading all this slander about her in the Daily Prophet — saying that she's underhanded and scheming and can't be trusted and blah blah blah (because the Ministry doesn't want people to think too hard about how she woke up since they're vehemently denying and covering up what really happened that night with Harry and Cedric) — but then the students go to History of Magic and Lily is confident, and knowledgeable, and COOL. As we saw in her first lesson in Chapter 21, Lily is not the kind of teacher who just blandly lectures to the students. No, she goes out of her way to make the material interesting, and thought-provoking, and even relatable to them.

Meanwhile, those same students are simultaneously dealing with Umbridge in DADA, who is a straight-up tyrant in her classroom and (as we see with Rose) has a definite bias against Muggle-borns that is very thinly veiled. And while Lily works hard to relate to the students, to make them feel heard and understood...Umbridge just tells them to shut up and read while feeding them obvious Ministry propaganda and refusing to properly prepare them for their O.W.L.s.

So the differences between Lily and Umbridge are STARK and I'm sure it's enough to make a lot of students question what the Ministry has been saying about her and Harry.

This is all an extremely long winded way of saying that Ron was hearing a wide variety of things about Lily. Some of it was the sexual "hot teacher" stuff with students fantasizing about certain things they wish could happen between them and her. Possibly in detention. But that's not all of it. I imagine the entire student body was ABUZZ after Umbridge inspected Lily's class and got put in her place so firmly! They were pretty much all rooting for her to ANNIHILATE this horrible DA teacher who is actively making Hogwarts a worse place for all of them.

Lily vs. Umbridge is an epic showdown that the students are obsessed with! And most of them (the exception being the bigoted blood supremacists like Malfoy who just dislike Lily on principle) are finding themselves more and more on Lily's side of it.

Which could have...interesting implications for the Ministry going forward........

Hey there! I'd love to get your thoughts on something. I saw a promo this morning on NBC for Jungkook’s upcoming Today show performance, and the language has been on my mind all day. He was described as: “The breakout star of BTS!”

When he appeared on Good Morning America and the Global Citizens Festival just a few months ago, they called him, “BTS’s Jungkook” or “From BTS, Jungkook.” I feel like there’s a lot of mileage between these designations and hyping him as “the breakout star of BTS.”

Why? Because American culture glorifies individual success. Whether it’s in business or sports or entertainment or politics, we give lip service to the notion of teamwork, but real adulation is for the people we can label mavericks, trailblazers, or…breakout stars. Within this mindset, there’s very little room left over to admire group achievement. The pinnacle of superstardom is reserved for those who are exceptional enough to stand out *from* the group, not be part of it.

So, I’m rewinding to a few months ago to imagine what my all-American Muggle-mind would have made of a promotion for “the breakout star of BTS.” To be honest, I would’ve assumed that one of BTS’s members had left the group because he had surpassed them. There are potentially millions of non-ARMY American customers, like that Muggle-me, to whom Jungkook could be marketed as *the* star---singular---who broke out of that boy-band.

Now, I’m in no way suggesting that Jungkook himself believes this. I have a lot of faith in him, in the dedication he has to the members and their work as a group, and in the sheer power of BTS when they are all together. I'm sure their comeback in 2025 will be astonishing (to quote Suga on Suchwita, “we’ll devour the world.”).

But that’s two years away, and I can feel this narrative building (in the U.S., at least) that Jungkook is the *real* star, and BTS? Well, that’s just part of his past. I hope I’m wrong about that, because as much as I think Jungkook deserves his own success, I don't really want to see BTS getting demoted in the popular imagination to "the band that launched Jungkook."

Americans are so consistent. "The next BTS", "The breakout star in BTS" blah blah. Of course, from their perspective, Jungkook is clearly the breakout star. But that's because he's targeting their market and making pop music. They don't get that the other members are interested in exploring other genres or even other markets. The most famous member in the US is the "breakout" member, nevermind that the others are successful in their respective fields as well. In their mind there has to be a breakout star, and I can't blame them entirely because that is how we all think. We assume that lesser famous artists are unsuccessful, when they might actually be successful in a different market. And in the case of some groups that disband, some members simply don't want fame anymore, yet the member who goes down the pop route and is successful is seen as the only successful one, like the others failed to make it.

And you're right that after Seven there could be a small shift from "the famous maknae from BTS" to "the member that is outdoing BTS" - though that's not true. What you said about America is true. Solo pop stars are much more marketable and respected. Jungkook being a boy group member actually doesn't do him any favors in the sense that, to someone who doesn't know BTS, the boy group label isn't an appealing one.

I agree that people who aren't aware of how massive BTS are might consider him somehow above BTS, because being a breakout star does imply, well, breaking out of the group, but Western media do know BTS. They know the group is huge, that the fans are insanely powerful and those fans are very vocal about loving the other members too. So far Jungkook's success seems to be taken as an extension of BTS's, as proof of BTS's strength, which it is. There isn't a single interview, including the recent one with Jimmy Fallon, in which BTS aren't mentioned, because BTS is bigger and mentioning BTS makes Armys happy and creates engagement. In fact, sometimes they mention BTS too much, but now that Jungkook is sort of standing on his own two feet, there is less of a focus on the group.

Anyway, Jungkook will enlist soon so I don't think there will even be enough time for him to establish himself and build that kind of reputation to separate him from BTS. Jungkook introduces himself as Jungkook of BTS and his fans are Army - as in, BTS's Army - so, in my opinion, what you're saying won't happen. You might see an article or two about it, but people know Jungkook's power and fandom are also BTS's power and fandom. I can't even imagine a scenario in which BTS and just "that band Jungkook is from". At least in kpop it didn't happen with Big Bang, Girls Generation, SHINee, 2EN1, or other groups with famous soloists, and the US might be different, but The Beatles are still The fucking Beatles and not that band that launched John Lennon and Paul McCartney, and One Direction, despite Harry Styles's success and being kind of disbanded, still has a strong group fandom.

So, yeah, BTS are solid imo. Jungkook would need a real solo career, with multiple comebacks and bigger promotion, to be any kind of "threat" to BTS's image. But I can't promise you won't see a few tasteless articles about it.

I'm not great at predicting popular opinion and what the media will do, though, so my opinion may not amount to much.

I doubt coming out would’ve been a popular option since the oldest core of the fandom are those who might find this news questionable at its best and might’ve destroyed the band’s image since Alex isn’t the talking head who would’ve performed the coming out with press asking their questions and protecting himself. The easier way to protect himself would’ve been having a “gf” who he isn’t even seeing often to not draw attention towards himself and live his slow hidden life on.

i watched minecraft diaries and all her other content when it first came out all the way until i think season 2 of pdf?? idk but i lost interest by the time ein was introduced lol. aphmau was my first special interest and her roleplays mean the world to me despite how flawed they are haha

i had sort of forgotten about her existence up until last year where i decided to rewatch mcd for the first time in YEARS after a convo i had with a friend. i started this account in spring of 2022 and had sooo much fun but unfortunately i lost interest and went on hiatus for almost a full year (it was 9 months but it FEELS like a year).

SaL anon here bestie and I'm afraid it's time. It was bound to happen at some point during the hiatus, but I feel like now that it's here we should rip the bandaid off and talk about all the reasons the sperm donor arc is some if the stupidest shit I've ever seen. So let's start with what really pissed me off this week which is KR's comments about this storyline. Can't remember the exact quote but something like "Buck needs to be happy with himself, figure out what he wants, it's important to

do that before being happy in a relationship, blah, blah, blah" to which I thought "Why indeed KR this is true which is exactly why WE SHOULD HAVE SEEN THIS HAPPEN LAST YEAR WITH THE WHOLE TAYLOR RELATIONSHIP!!" This is exactly how that story was set up, constantly showing Buck's misery, his half-hearted ily, the chance to realize he needs more than just a person that doesn't leave to be happy. And absolutely nothing came of it. We spent a whole season with this BS only to have it end with no growth for Buck. And NOW you think it's time to address this 🙄🙄🙄??!! Also this leads into my second bitchy observation. Part of the appeal of having a break up growth arc was it was relatable. Maybe we haven't all experienced it but I'd argue most people can relate to the idea of leaving (or being left) a relationship that isn't bad but isn't what you want. Eddie's breakdown arc last season was relatable, not because we all know what PTSD like but we can all appreciate the idea of bottling up hurt and pain because we don't want to face it or keep a brave face for those we love. What exactly am I supposed to be connecting to with this donor BS?? We all don't have an innate desire to have kids, or do a big favor for a sorta friend we once knew. I have a complete emotional disconnect from this storyline and don't see that changing. So next let's talk about how fucking illogical every part of this story is (on a side note I laughed at the fans out-googling the 911 writers on so many things, reminds me of my science RNM science sin compilations). Anyway, just why would anyone approach their friend they barely keep contact with to do this particular favor (maybe they explained but honestly I've blocked so many of those scenes from my long term memory)?? Why not a close friend (or relative even)? If you're going for emotional distance why not just an anonymous donor? The whole premise feels so contrived. Probably gotta leave it here for now since I'm getting sleepy. But i'm not close to being done (i'm not even done with this one point) so i hope ypu're ready for more of an inbox full later. Feel free to respond to what I do have because honestly bestie, this may take awhile.

My friend, as always your thoughts are perfectly on point! First, YES that growth was what SHOULD have come out of Buck having a relationship where he recognized he was clinging to something that wasn’t fulfilling for him and being the one to call it quits. But with the cheating added into the mix and then the Jonah mess, Buck didn’t end the relationship on “his” terms, he was pushed by her actions and needing to protect his friends. And ya know what? It might have worked if they had it end in 5a, and then spent 5b with Buck figuring out how to be happy with himself and what he wants. Also, what TF was 5x18 if not TWO instances of it being stated what Buck wants?! First with the Maddie “isn’t that what love is?” conversation and then the firefam “someone to have your back” conversation.

ANYWAY, fine, Buck still needs to learn what the key to happiness is, but please tell me why after how much we had to suffer through that BT mess, we are having yet another season of Buck clinging to something that isn’t right for him and won’t make him happy, just because he thinks doing something to make someone else happy is important even if it hurts him. If the WHOLE point of the BT mess was showing Buck being a “settler” and a “clinger” then why are we right back in the same place with him settling for being a donor not a dad, and clinging on to this couple like he’s going to be ‘fun uncle Buck”? You KNOW that couple isn’t going to want a constant reminder of how they “failed” to make a baby “on their own”, or risk their kid (or Buck) getting too attached. Not to mention how awkward it would be for them to explain their sperm donor just being around all the time. Also what was the point of Hen asking if he could have a child out there and walk away, if he can JUST be a donor and nothing more, if the storyline is showing him constantly acting like he’s going to be fulling involved in this kids life? How is ANY of this helping Buck figure out how to be happy with himself when he’s still putting himself and his needs behind other people’s who are using him for parts? What happened to him figuring out the right “couch” and how to be “at ease” and Lev’s death being something that hit him super hard and made him start thinking about his life? Because all of that got abandoned in favor of this soap opera level pointless “drama”. Thanks, I hate it.

As far as connecting to the storyline, I don’t even think it’s just about some people not wanting kids and therefore not being able to connect, it’s about the way this story is being told. Because you’re right, even people without war-related PTSD could relate or at least emotionally connect to Eddie’s arc. But with Buck, we aren’t given enough/consistent info about his thoughts and feelings to connect with! He seems unsure when he talks to Hen and that “donor not dad” line really seemed to throw him for a loop. So the audience was prepared to see him struggle with this decision a bit, maybe saying “let me think about it” and then an episode or 2 later (after some interactions with a call and/or Eddie/Chris, or Maddie (and maybe Jee) make him re-evaluate things), he tells them no, because he’s realized he can’t just donate and walk away. (Even weighty arcs like the lawsuit and Eddie’s fighting arc only lasted a couple episodes so this would be easy to wrap up within the confines of 6a) Instead he says “yes” immediately without talking to Eddie, Maddie, or Bobby or taking into real account what Hen said. Okay, fine, so he’s said yes, now it’s time for the family history to come into play or a talk with Eddie or Maddie or Bobby right?! Wrong! It’s time to forget about it for a month! Then, when it finally comes back, it’s got two conflicting things happening at once. Thing one: It’s all a big joke! Buck is telling Hen about his masturbation habits (which as everyone has pointed out is actually NOT what you should do which Buck would know if he was doing all that research on what to eat and everything, but that would require the WRITERS to do that research and OPP! Either they didn’t bother, or decided this was “funnier” than the facts 🙄). Buck is getting cock-blocked by the sperm bank! Buck’s firefam is eavesdropping on the reveal when Buck get’s accosted at work and they get caught staring! How funny is that?! (🙄🙄🙄 NOT actually funny but of course it’s never addressed) But then we have thing two. Which is the fact that despite the writing playing this off as a joke, they’re also making sure Buck isn’t telling anyone besides Hen, and makes it clear he doesn’t want her to tell anyone else. Why not? Why would Buck keep this a secret from his sister that he always goes to for a listening ear? From his best friend who isn’t afraid to give him tough talks when he needs them? From his father figure whose advice he respects? The answer if this was in an earlier season with better writing would be that he knows he’s not making the right choice and isn’t ready to confront the truth. But we don’t get any indication of that either! Just Buck desperate to do his donation, apologetic to the couple when he can’t get it done and doubling down on his commitment and excitement to do this for them, and a continued joy in the whole thing, with no indication that anyone is gearing up for a big talk with him. So why was Buck sooo desperate to not let anyone know? The audience is being given two different messages at the same time! Buck is super excited about doing this in his words, and Buck is also super concerned about the people closest to him finding out that he’s doing this in his actions. But since we don’t see him expressing that worry, and we don’t see the team expressing any worry behind his back about it, the audience doesn’t know how they are supposed to be emotionally connecting to this story. I know you’ve got another ask planed on how we’re past the point of being able to satisfyingly wrap up this arc now that a baby has been made so I’ll save some rant for that, but just focused on what we have seen, the arc doesn’t make any sense on what Buck is truly feeling and therefore what the audience should be connecting to within the storyline.

As for why they asked Buck, his buddy said it was because Buck was a good, kind, selfless person and you can’t tell that from a genetics facts sheet at the sperm bank. Which is....a) grossly manipulative, especially for someone like Buck which dude HAD to know, and b) isn’t even a tiny bit factually true! Yes kids have their own personalities and what they like and enjoy may not always line up with what their parents do, but your child being a good and kind person is sorta down to you teaching them to be good and kind. It isn’t going to just *happen* because of “genetics”. My guess is they approached him because he IS good and kind and they figured he would say yes, with the added bonus of him being a physically healthy person with on the surface level, probably “good” genetics.

Anyway, I tried to give this storyline a chance, just like I did with the impending BT breakup, but just like last season, it’s reached a point where pretty much whatever they do is going to result in Buck being the “victim” again and being the one to be “left behind” instead of being able to make the choice himself to leave a situation that isn’t good for him, meaning again, no real growth, and more of Buck being stuck having scenes and arcs entirely outside the firefam/his job. And as we saw with 4x14 and 99.9% of s5 and the BT relationship, KR doesn’t like anyone in the firefam being involved in Buck’s personal arcs. (Probably because if they WERE, he might actually learn something and be able to grow a little and we just can’t have that.)

After her death I decided to look into Sinead O'Connor more as growing up my interpretation of her was pretty negative, a view formed from the opinion of others.

When she was at the Hight of her fame I was just a kid, I liked Nothing Compares as it was the no1 song in the world but that's all I knew. My dad would comment on her hair (just like many peoples dads did back then) in a far from pleasant way, associating from the National Front Skin Heads.

People on TV were saying how she was ugly, how she looked like a teenage boy, an artist I loved Madonna talked about how bad she looked and Madonna was stunning, so she must be right, she is one of the sexiest people to ever live (not that I associated her with sexy at the time) so she knows what she's talking about, so she must be right... right?

She didn't have any other songs you could class as Smash Hits, certainly non that a pre pubescent kid would have heard of, she seemed to come from no where, have 1 hit, cause controversy and vanish again.

Growing up I became a Prince fan and after reading that she and Prince hated each other it had to be her fault right? I mean Prince was a mega star, one of the most talented humans to ever live, It could never be his fault.. could it?

I then started going out with a girl from a catholic family, and they would turn the radio off if Nothing Compares to You came on, slagging her off and talking about her ripping up a picture of the pope for attention, They know someone who knows someone who lived a few streets away or some crap like that, and she was a terrible teenager blah blah. Then nothing, she fell out of my mind completely, until last year when her son died, I felt sad for her but that was it, no change to my life. Then last month she died and the media that helped chastise her were full of praise saying how talented she was, talented? she only had one hit? It was good though.

Yesterday I decided to watch the documentary "Nothing Compares" really to see how they made a documentary about a one hit wonder attention seeker....

Im Sorry, I am so so sorry... This woman was 30 years ahead of her time, she wasn't a trouble causer, she used her platform to raise awareness of injustices she felt needed addressing. She didn't care if it ruined her career, as long as the message got out, Child abuse, Racism, censorship, she fought for those effected, issues that people in her position stand against now to applause. Yet at the time she faced so much hate, so young, I thought she was vilified here in the UK, That was nothing compared to how America treated her.

She was also one of the most beautiful looking women, especially with her shaved head, it brought out her eyes and face shape with stunning results, again, today she wouldn't be getting called a boy, or ugly, she would have all the designer world trying to sign her up to model for a lot of money, although I doubt she would have done it.

I have also spent all morning listening to her music, Mandinka, Drink Before War, Thank You for Hearing Me, all amazing, all, I think far better than Nothing Compares. The Lion and The Cobra Album, blows me away!

She obviously had major mental health problems, especially in later life after hearing about some of her tweets and outbursts and its a shame nobody could help her but with her passing, I genuinely think the world is a slightly worse place.

but my favorite rly was barca lmao bc … it’s my fic world & i can make ava a huge barca fan if i want! she watched a lot of tv so yknow, plausible. grew up watching messi, loves watching alexia now. i love imagining ava — small beautiful mostly femme ava — in a bar delightedly talking with all the boys about football tactics & players. they’re all in love obviously but she just keeps trying to get bea to join in, bc she knows bea grew up watching football & doesn’t Hate it. but let me tell you when i saw the scenes from those two 90k+ barca games i cried lol, ava really would’ve loved it.

(also headcanon that bea has a big brother that isn’t super shitty, eventually they reunite & she introduces ava blah blah blah, but he’s a chelsea fan & ava is like listen noah it’s gonna take So Much for me to like you. in addition to not protecting your little sister from ur parents ur a chelsea fan. i’d rather you be a real madrid fan at this point. & bea is just 🙄😂🥹 that’s my girl that’s my life partner, a god & a barca fan lmao. a silly thing i’ll probably include in ava’s pov, indulgent, yes. fun, also yes.)

It’s been years since we have heard anything genuine from the boys in terms of their creative process and artistry. It’s all just the same lines about army and personas blah blah blah rinsed recycled and repeated over and over again. This is one of the first sentiments I expressed a couple years ago as a new fan and of course when I voice this in fandom circles, the response is always along the lines of “its because they really love army that much” or some similar blathering. Their interviews always leave me with the feeling that there’s a Hybe representative somewhere in the shadows with a sniper rifle ready to fire the moment any of them deviates from the script in any way. It should not be like this with a band almost 10 years in. As a previous anon pointed out they are pushing 30 and should really have more to say about things at this point. I feel like they are regressing and it’s giving newly debuted band right now as opposed to seasoned artists. They keep saying they want to show different sides of themselves and then they just… don’t. It’s frustrating to me as a more mature fan. I enjoy their music and their personalities but everything about them these days seems so manufactured and boxed in, idk. I am glad I’m at least able to voice this sentiment here without being made to feel I’m a bad fan or that I just don’t understand “the bts and army bond”

This manufactured version we see could be a result of getting more famous in the past few years and the lack of something valuable in their interviews or when they talk about their music can also be because of the songs they released since the pandemic. It's one thing to talk about a certain concept when there is something meaningful there and other when you have songs like Dynamite, Butter and PTD. When I listened to interviews they had when they released those songs, all I heard were some empty words, fillers that don't mean anything when you really pay attention to it. There is always a script to an interview, but then again, if you have nothing to say except these songs are for army, it's about healing and good vibes and then repeat that again for the next songs, damn, I don't know how they can put up with it.

I also expected that after 10 years and getting older, it would give them the opportunity to show a more mature side of them, including when they are in situations to talk about their music. It's just unfortunate that it coincided with releasing meaningless songs that turned them into some rookies that only sing and dance to a song made by other people so they can't have many thoughts to express about that.

Hello, my favourite author. No matter how much I read fan fiction these days to destract myself from the real life. It is starting to bleed in and the problem is staring me right in the face.

I hope you do not mind me sending this, but I just need someone to tell me the truth of "Am I being crazy?" Or "Am I correct in my stance?" I just hope someone can reflect of this as well, or find solace that you are not the only one.

One of my best friends of almost 16 years, sounds crazy since I'm in my early twenties, but we met in the same first grade.

We've been having these "movie nights" every couple of weeks, since adulting is not the same as being a teen, even though I feel like one quite frequently still.

We text over WhatsApp, and we send eachother stuff on Twitter or funny videos via Tiktok.

And I've been trying to get her to come over for a movie night, but every time I send her a text it takes her multiple days to respond. The last one being four days. She's been doing this since last year, it's not a new thing.

Everytime I ask her anything, it takes her more than one day to respond.

I feel like I'm a pretty understanding person and logical to know that people have lives, and I do not even expect you to respond to me within the hour , or 3 or even that day.

But now we've gotten to a place where she takes more and more time. And as a bestie. I know you go out with other people, and you have a different friend group that your girlfriend is in (who is lovely by the way, absolutely adore her.) , I also know you do not do much, we're both unemployed at the moment, and she is quite content to stay home, draw, listen to music, read books.

So there is some avoidance here. I lent her the Evelyn Hugo book that I wanted to read, but I said she can go ahead and do it first and then I will. That was almost three months ago. Which has never happened before.

And I know she also didn't invite me to her birthday party with said other group. Our two other best friends do not currently live in our small town so it's just me and her, and her other group.

The reason why I've connected to our dear Ewan Mitchell is I can connect to his personality really well, since some stuff is my personality.

I'm quite hard to get to know and if you show me compassion, understanding, and respect, you got me for life baby. I'll be on your side rooting for you. I am also at first glance serious, and would rather be in a corner with a best friend, than talking to a bunch of people.

She knows that I only have her right now since our other friends are not here, and I've told her I won't really be hanging out with some of those new people, I tried this past summer, but a nonconsensual groping incident happened within, and everyone is trying to say "that's just how that person is".

That shit does not fly by me, as I'm Slavic and quite blunt and headstrong, I've let them know that is not something that I agree with and we can not be friends. And she was okay with me not hanging out with that group.

I notice her liking and retweeting tweets about "other people respecting your time" and "I love those friends that don't require you to immediately respond to them" blah blah.

I feel like I've been pretty great regarding that! But now it seems like she is the one tnot respecting me and my time? Since now I'm the one rearranging my life.

Is 4 days not crazy at all? Is that a thing? Should I just let her respond when she does?

I'm so sorry to hear that you're going through that.

My first piece of advice would be to branch out, if you can - make other friends, go and visit the ones that live far away, if you're able to - anything to give you a bit of separation and take away the saturation that this person has on your life. If you can't do that then immerse yourself in a hobby that busies your mind - write, make music, paint, knit, draw, etc.

The space will give you fresh perspective and looking upon it with clear headspace will help you to think more rationally.

How is your friend when you do hang out? Is it the same as it always is? I'll admit, I'm a shit for response times - I rarely look at my phone and when I do it's usually in the middle of me doing something else and I'll see a a text or Whatsapp message and think "I'll respond to that when I have the time/spoons" and then a week will pass and I'll realise I've forgotten. It's not that I don't care about my friends - we can go weeks without speaking or seeing each other, but when we hangout nothing has changed - we still love each other, we just appreciate that life is busy and all of us have stuff going on.

If you're still feeling this way in a couple of weeks, ask your friend to chat and find out what's going on - they could be in a bad headspace and are withdrawing because of that, they'd likely appreciate the fact that you've reached out. They may not realise how their behaviour is affecting you and the conversation could be what kickstarts things improving.

The Japanese Book, American Movie Connection

It's hard to find many Japanese books translated into English that aren't manga. Nothing against manga, I just wish more novels made their way over here. If you're interested, here's two books worth your time and one that's not Japanese, but you'll see why I included it here.

Bullet Train

Have you seen the movie Bullet Train yet? Great movie. Brad Pitt does an excellent job playing the unlucky (but really lucky), bumbling criminal. (Fun fact: the director, David Leitch (John Wick, Deadpool 2, Atomic Blond) was Brad Pitt's stunt double before he became a director.) When I saw the trailer I looked up the movie and saw that it was an adaptation of a Japanese book. So before I talk more about Bullet Train, I need to talk about a book I first read in 2014 and then re-read this year (yeah, I know, for someone who said he never rereads books, I sure reread a lot this year).

All You Need Is Kill

In 2014 the movie Edge of Tomorrow came out. Interestingly, the DVD release would change the title to Live Die Repeat: Edge of Tomorrow. As in most cases, the book usually gets it right and they should have stuck with the original book title, All You Need Is Kill. What a great name. But I can see why they wouldn't think it would work well as a major motion picture movie title.

So, in 2014 Edge of Tomorrow was released and some neighbors came back from seeing the movie (opening weekend, I think) with the above pictured book. Knowing I was interested in seeing the movie and that I was a sci-fi fan, they gave me the book. At first I thought it was one of those movie novelizations, but quickly realized it was the actually the book the movie was based on. First off, how awesome is that?

If I had one Christmas wish it would be that every time a movie was made from a book, the studio would give out free copies of the book with every opening weekend ticket. I can tell you I'd see a lot more movies in the theater if they did that.

So, I read the book and instantly fell in love with it. I went and saw the move and loved it as well. While the movie was different, I felt like they did a good job sticking to the spirit of the book. I wish the movie would have ended about 10 minutes earlier, without the Hollywood ending, so it would have been closer to the book ending, but that's okay. I get it.

So, back to Bullet Train. I had plans with some friends to go see the movie and I quickly read the book before we went. The book was great, but there was one character, The Prince, that really bothered me. He's this psychotic tween who manipulates everyone in the book. That's not actually what bothers me. What I didn't like was he'd have these long internal and external monologues about morality and how he was so much superior to everyone, and blah, blah, blah. Way too much ink was spent on these thoughts of his.

The movie didn't have this and The Prince, gender swapped and played by Joey King, wasn't nearly as annoying. And this is one of these rare instances where I'm going to say that the movie was better than the book. I still enjoyed the book, but the move was way more fun.

But this leads me to my third book.

Shibumi

When we first meet The Prince, she is reading a book called Shibumi. I hadn't heard of this book, but the cover reminded me of the cover to Shogun, which I remember my dad reading when I was a kid. I quickly jotted down the name of the book and looked it up later.

Shibumi may be my favorite new book I read this year. It was definitely the most unexpected. The author of Shibumi simply goes by the name Trevanian. As it says on the cover of my book, Trevanian was the only writer of airport paperbacks to be compared to Zola, Ian Fleming, Poe, and Chaucer.

Upon researching the book and the author, I was very surprised to learn that Shibumi was a best selling book when it was released in 1979 and between 1972 and 1983 Trevanian had five books all sell over a million copies each. Having been born in 1972, its no surprise I hadn't heard of him, but given how good the book is, and how much praise the author gets I'm surprised I hadn't heard of him until now. But I think that's all going to change. I think we're about to have a small Trevanian resurgence.

The book is being adapted into a movie. The screenplay is being adapted by Matthew Orton, who wrote episode one of Moon Knight, and it's being directed by Chad Stahelski, who has directed all three John Wick movies, as well as the upcoming fourth one. But this isn't his first movie adaptation, he also write The Eiger Sanction in 1972, which was adapted into film in 1975 starring and directed by Clint Eastwood.

Through all the success Trevanian had no one ever knew his actual name. It was a lot easier to keep your identity hidden before the internet came along. Trevanian's real name is Rodney William Whitaker. What's even more fascinating to me is that Whitaker didn't stick to one genre, even with his pen name, Travanian, he published under several different genres.

But here's the thing that impressed me. Shibumi is satire. It's such a subtle satire that it frustrated the author because most people didn't get it. I have to admit when I first started reading it I thought, "wow, this is over the top 1970's macho spy stuff." Then after a few more pages, I thought, "that can't be right, this is too well written." The text isn't subtle, but the satire is. If you want a good laugh, read the hundreds of one-star reviews on Goodreads and you'll see just how much people miss the mark on this book.

YES YES YES

I’ll start with a list of whom I consider to be my blorbos, then I’ll talk why I like them and maybe list a few headcanons for some I REALLY think about

(I find it funny that I have gotten extremely attached to characters that I haven’t even watched the shows for)

Saiki

I found him through looking up aroace compilations on youtube.

I’m not lying.

He showed up so much and I was intrigued so I click on a video and I’m instantly captivated by his personality and the entire comedy of the show.

I ended up figuring out the entire plot pretty quick by just watching some videos and Saiki became a fast favourite.

Naturally when I become interested in something, I read fanfic for it. Which leads me to my next blorbo

Bakugou

Like I’ve obviously heard of him and mha before so I had a rough idea of who he was and what he was like.

So I find some Saiki and mha crossover fic and the thing intrigued me and Bakugou was decently prominent.

I essentially liked is angry Pomeranian vibes.

He is very different from my normal blorbo types. Because of the anger and stuff but my goodness there are vibes.

There is also trauma but that’s a side dish to the blorbo.

I naturally, like every blorbo I headcanon him as aroace. Suffer horny Bakugou fans.

It’s kind of true but I kind of also headcanon him as a big nerd (I do have a type for blorbos they are nerds.)

The common headcanon about Bakugou needing to be constantly angry because of all the nitroglycerin is very neat and I love sciency headcanons so that’s inserted itself into my headspace as well.

Alright next blorbo. Also from mha!

Tokoyami

The bird guy? The emo bird guy?

Yes blorbo.

Literally just vibes. Funny little emo bird.

Aroace, definitely looks at dark academia posts, writes poetry and short horror stories.

(Tokoyami and Bakugou are aroace emo besties in this essay I will-)

If I were ever to write for mha. Something about the sports festival between these two.

Krel

I love him. My little nerd.

Also aroace and I enjoy the headcanon that Akaridions do not require any food or water, which really explains the weird stuff that Aja and Krel tried to eat when they first came to Earth.

I don’t know how common this is but the concept of the more often the Akaridions use their human forms the more human they become. Remember when Krel get the nose-bleed? Yeah I do.

Next blorbo!

Prince Lotor

First guy that would I end up considering as my first blorbo.

Ahhh March of 2021. What a fucking month. I watched like half an episode of season 3 waiting for the time to pass and saw Lotor and I went ‘you. Funky smart purple man.’

Voltron was the second anime adjacent/semi-animated-styled show I got into. After avatar of course.

Aroace. As I said it’s a common theme. And suffer as well horny Lotor fans.

Lotor just vibes with gender, he doesn’t mind what pronouns you use. Guess maybe agender or nonbianary. Demiboy? I’m not sure other than the fact that he is chill towards it and doesn’t mind he/him or other pronouns.

I adore the headcanon that he based his armour design off his cat.

And a few personal headcanons of mine are that he:

1. Is protective of kids because of his shitty childhood and knows of the consequences of war

2. Took in his generals when they are kids and kind of thinks of them as his younger siblings or kids.

A fic concept using those would be Lotor fighting the paladins manages to take off the helmet of one of them and went ‘oh shit you guys are kids’ gets all pissed and was like ‘how could the princess allow this’ joins them and realizes that Allura is also 19 and by extension of 10,000 year old Lotor logic he goes ‘aw shit you guys are all kids. Fine then I’m joining you’

And then they beat the shit out of Zarkon and everybody lives well no alternative colony blah blah blah.

Azula & Sokka

Would you be surprised that the first full episode of avatar that I watched was the beach episode?

Yeah. Not a good first impression but that episode managed to pique my interest and I finished season 3 and watched the whole thing.

At first Azula was like some odd side character to me. But by s2 ep1 she had caught me. I found her to be really cool!

Demi aro and ace. Lesbian.

Besties with Sokka.

Sokka. My boy. I was also very neutral with him at the beginning, but he grew on me pretty quick.

He’s like the only blorbo that I don’t headcanon as aro and/or ace. Bisexual and Demiboy with he/they pronouns.

I don’t have any big headcanons for them but they found their way into my heart either way.

I have a bunch of others but I am tired of typing, so I’ll just list them.

And in the middle was a gaggle of girls and their manager, standing in one location.

Even with all the hustle and bustle you could still hear what he said clearly,

As if he wanted the whole world to know.

"Look at you girls, you’ve grown so much. Starlight's new single hit number one on the charts. CANDYS ‘album has hit the top 100. And not to mention being the guest appearance on that popular afternoon Tv show. Aren’t we glad that the host was a fan of Starlight’s. You guys have another concert tomorrow to celebrate your 2nd year anniversary and it the dress rehearsal looked great today. Good job Starlight… and girls. A toast is in order, you all did great."

He walked them to their changing room.

Then as the man exited the scene, all but one huddled together.

They had locked her out, like always.

She was excluded.

She sat outside their circle, as they gossiped and grimaced in front of her face.

As if they didn’t care.

As if she didn’t exist.

"Honestly it sounded like he just wanted to congratulate Starlight. He doesn't care about the rest of us."

"Hmm."

"True."

“Her new single did get number one. Maybe that’s why.”

“But he always talks about her. What’s so special about her?”

“I know right? She’s not even that cute.”

“And she’s so dull. Why doesn’t he pay attention to me?”

“Or at least anyone but her.”

“She’s just a hog.”

"She’s so mean."

"What's the point?"

There was a long silence in the room. The sound of ice clicking together in the cup was heard by all.

"Maybe we should just graduate already."

There was a shift in the table as someone jumped up. Knocking into the table.

"No! You can't. I need you guys. The company needs you guys."

"No, you don't. In fact, nobody needs us. Our manager does not care. I don’t think the fans even care.”

A pensive face appeared on her. She just couldn't understand. Why would they say that. That's not true! Even if she knew deep down that it was true, she couldn't accept that. They can't leave.

"That's not true, he does! He mentioned the album and it raising in the ranks. He wouldn't have if he didn't care. And the fans would riot if you guys suddenly disappeared.”

"Oh come on Starlight. The fans don’t care. And he obviously did it to not sound bias. We all heard him raving about your up-and-coming single. And it's no wonder he did, you know how much money the company makes off you. You are all he cares about, we're just collateral."

"That's not true! He's proud of you, of us. We did great in that album and poured our hearts and souls into it. He knows it. This is a huge accomplishment for the group, for us. We'll be world-renowned in no time. And he knows that. It's not just me, it's all of u-"

"SHUT UP. He doesn't give a fuck about the rest of us. The only thing he liked from the album was your solos. I heard him say it to the other managers. 'Starlight was so good. The rest suck though, but at least they make Starlight look better blah blah blah.' He couldn't care less. After all, you the company's golden goose, this group was made around you. All the interns practically worship the ground you walk on. Managers, fight for you. Executives, “whatever you want”. PR team, it doesn't matter. News reporters, you can do no wrong. Gossip mags, she's the greatest. Fans, we'd DIE for you. Hell, even other celebrities LOVE you. He doesn't care about us, they don't care about us. It wouldn't matter if we all quit, as long as you're here nobody would bat an eye. They would just hire our replacements or something off the bat. I bet the only reason we still have our jobs is because of you. Well, am I right?"

"..."

You couldn't lie. It was true. They had almost been terminated a couple of times. But you fought for them every time. You wonder if the cared or were insulted. After all it's not like they liked you.

"I fucking knew it. He doesn't care because he has you. What's the point in being a part of this group if I'm always going to play second fiddle to the same pompous, immature brat."

*BANG*

Your manager had returned awhile ago. Listening the whole time. Biting his tongue or more of peacefully observing, watching what you'd say. It's only when he felt like they had gone far enough, did he say something. His calm demeanor turned cold in seconds, slamming both hands on the table rattling the drinks on it.

"CAMI! Be nicer to Starlight! Or else I'll have you terminated."

"See, I told you. Let's go girls."

And with that they left.

Alone.

Without her.

She was alone, so alone.

Even as her manager slowly wrapped his arms around her in comfort, she felt so alone.

More alone than ever before.

They hate me

Maybe... I should just go

Escape to where no one can find me...

Because I'm tired...
