I hate that they made aegon a rapist (but in some episodes, they tried to give him depth and show how he suffers from his position). it's already not easy being team green, and we still have to pass as apologists, when that shit didn't even happen in the books and no one in that book it's a nice person. it literally is such a gratuitous scene.

aegon was said to get handsy with maidservants in the book but that was the extent of it (as long as we're discounting mushroom, whom i believe should almost always be discounted). i guess i can see why they would put it in there based on that, but they made the adaptational choice to whitewash pretty much every character except aegon, which would be baffling if it weren't very clear what their intention was. i think aegon may actually be the only character who is better in the book than the show. and he actually had one of the more interesting arcs in the book so it's depressing all around

if they were going to make aegon a worse guy than in the book, then they should have at least made rhaenyra book accurate, because making one of them a fundamentally better person than the other undermines the futility of the dance. but i do respect that they wanted to make rhaenyra more likable (though i would say this stretched too far with the erasure of every canonical flaw she had in 1.10 and the white hart) so the easy solution to preserve that theme was to not have aegon casually commit atrocities that are so cartoonish they're not even shown on screen. obviously then they wouldn't have been able to market a proto daenerys to audiences but maybe we'd have an interesting story idk

You probably didn't mean the first one like this but...

What does she think about herself?

So, her opinion of herself lessens over time. She is tempered from a life of entertaining strangers, of becoming a living work of art, and that involves living in a world of putting on a mask every day. At first she's proud of herself and her status, and being appreciated for her beauty make living in a Hyuran-dominated space feel validating. She worked hard to get to where she is-- especially in a caste-system like Kugane's.

Her only goal is to earn her keep at the okiya, and to gain a patron (a danna) in order to repay her debts so that she can retire and look for her father in Thavnair. This, of course, doesn't quite happen the way she envisioned.

There's a clear moment she starts taking on guilt and it begins when she first killed a Garlean soldier and is forced to flee the country. I think the guilt just compounds from there until she feels she is undesirable and unclean for the things she's done. Eventually she will have to take measure of her worth, and pit them against the traditional Raen morals of her upbringing: does the good she has done outweigh the lives she has taken? Is it peace if it was written in blood?

Thancred.

Sweats. Well, for starts, he's one of the few that aren't eager to lick her boots simply because of her power and she has always appreciated that about him. He sees her as she is, and she has always appreciated that about him-- what she doesn't know is it's because he sees himself in her.

Their relationship is rocky though, and to be clear it's always been full of highs and lows. He humours her lack of experience as an adventurer because Minfilia takes a liking to her, but at the same time he also sees Tsuna as a potential conquest, which she repeatedly rebukes. His cocktail of emotions spill over in 3.2 that really sours their relationship until SHB proper (5.0?).

What does she think of him, though? He's refreshing, frustratingly dry-witted, incorrigible, and sympathetic. She also knows he could love so deeply if he just allowed himself to be loved in return.

Urianger.

Amiable at first. Another Eorzean who speaks in a strange bastardization of the common tongue, and so she often has difficulty understanding both his speech and his allegiances. Once, he gifted her a book on Sharlayan astrology after expressing an interest in conjury, and though she never gained a knack for it, she has kept the deck of cards ever since.

It made his subsequent betrayals hurt worse, however. He broke her trust not once, but twice. After the events at Gulg she has found him nothing but shady-- a complete enigma even after she had thought she finally knew him. Even though he does what he does with a heavy heart and good intentions, they tend to invite the worst kinds of trouble.

I haven't a clue what this relationship could be called but it is friendly. He has no ill-will towards her, and never has, and neither does she. She definitely finds him mesmerizing to look at, though. I suppose she keeps a wide berth from him if she can help it, simply because her trust is not something so easily won back.

Jullus.

Ouch. Oof. Rough. Similar to themes I mention in my Fordola question, Tsuna has prejudices against the Garlean people whether they be military personnel or civilians and I consider this a flaw she needs to overcome. Learning of Arenvald's heritage did much to distil her initial prejudices, however, Jullus and her are (at first) a hair's breadth from knocking heads.

(As a personal aside, having just finished the island sanctuary quests yesterday I was actually wondering at the time about how uncomfortable Tsuna might have been while breaking bread with all those Garleans lmao.)

I do think she softens on them as a people, and subsequently Jullus, but it takes time. Jullus, himself is meant to represent them as a whole to the player imo. There are just too many layers preventing her from seeing him as a person when he is such a product of his environment. I wouldn't doubt if he kept his mistrust of her as well.

TATARU !!

They are best friends for certain. Tataru lives for her stories, and has a great time accompanying Tsuna whenever she can. Tataru has a real adventurous heart and she definitely lives vicariously through her in that way. Aside from that, their relationship is full of gossip over tea and all that-- mostly Tataru doing the spilling. I think Tsuna does really well with Ul'dahns extroverts that are really forward lmao.

Minfilia isn't around anymore and I imagine Tataru gets very lonely without her best friend. Tsuna will never be a replacement for that relationship, but I think Tataru appreciates her presence.

Also as a personal observation, though it doesn't have anything to do with their relationship per se, the last Tataru quest ended up being very thematic for Tsuna and I was losing my mind over it. The worries of diaspora losing their culture, the guilt of feeling that you're not doing more for your people, and then it all culminating in recreating Tataru's mother's heirloom. (Tsuna keeps her own mother's wedding ring with her and it's an important part of her story.) I just found it all very fitting for the two of them!

Also, Tataru definitely sewed her a dress for her date dinner with Aymeric, and would do so again. She's the kind of friend that's like 'I'm going to make you look so smoking hot this guy loses his religion over you'.

The pads of Mikasa’s fingertips were gentle across his skin, rubbing soap across his skin in circular motions as to not further irritate the numerous burns the accident left him with. Even the smallest of touches would irritate his injuries, but Mikasa had always been delicate in everything she did.

It was the stark difference between the two of them—Mikasa approached life with a level of caution and tenderness that Eren had never possessed. He had gone through so much of his life approaching everything with a sense of callousness, always brash and aggressiveness, but it was as if all of Mikasa’s benevolence had somehow rubbed off onto Eren. He was certain part of it was a result of all the time they spent together, but also because Mikasa was deserving of all that was good—even from him.

The cool shower stream drew gently against her back, her dark hair slicked back from the water, droplets of water falling gingerly down her face. Her fingers traced the outlines of the where his scars spanned from his wrist to the curvature of his shoulder, some spots more mangled than others. A sullen look washed across her face, and he could see the faintest trace of her lip quivering.

“These are gonna scar,” she said quietly, her voice almost inaudible over the stream of the shower.

“And if they do, it’s okay, I don’t mind. I’ll get to tell everyone who asks how I almost got burned to death trying to play hero,” he attempted to reassure her. She gave him a reproachful look, evidently unable to appreciate the “humor” in his words. His face softened at her expression, knowing despite his constant reassurances, she was still shaken up by the accident.

“Mikasa…” He started softly. “I’m here right now, aren’t I? I’m okay, I promise. You don’t have to keep worrying.” Eren took the hand that was still inspecting his multiple burns and brought it to his chest, just above his heart. “You feel that? I’m alive and I’m okay. I’m here talking to you, and I have no intentions of going anywhere else. I’m here to stay as long as I’m able to—I can promise you that much, cariño.”

Her mouth opened as if to protest but she merely pressed her lips into a thin line, opting to merely nod in response instead. Her eyes had the glossed-over look they did whenever she was about to cry, only he knew that she wouldn’t allow herself to—not now, at least.

Eren’s face fell into a frown, knowing that whatever unspoken thoughts were running rampant in her head, were the exact opposite of not worrying. “Mikasa, look at me,” he urged, tilting her chin up so that her eyes met his. “Please, don’t worry anymore—if not for yourself, then for me. I will do everything on your list to the T, I promise. I won’t even try to still go on my runs like I had been secretly planning to—”

“Eren, what the hell? It’s almost like you don’t wanna get better or something,” she chastised, the scowl he had grown to appreciate perched on her face.

“Which is exactly why I’m not going to anymore, I don’t want you to keep stressing about this—about me.”

So in reference to my tags on Bo in this post. Many fanon works paint Bo as the dangerous, aggressive, toxic Sinclair. And while he's a sick bastard (cause like they all are for murdering people for years lmao) after a bunch of rewatches of House of Wax (2005) I don't know where that interpretation comes from.

I read so many fanfics prior to even watching the movie and so I was full on board with Vinny as the uwu soft twin train. Lester has never appealed to me in any way shape or form, but fanfics generally portray him as the really sweet kinda neglected and forgotten brother.

Through my massive hyper fixation in the movie and doing all those rewatches for ridiculous analysis that no one asked for I observed Lester being pretty lecherous with Carly. Both when at the carrion pit when she was changing her shirt and also while they were in the truck (if memory serves.) I also don't find Les attractive, even ignoring his lack of personal hygiene so like there's maybe some of my bias there. Not caring to read more into him cause of the initial creep factor and that he doesn't get much air time. I do appreciate his carving artistry though!

In Vinny I saw waaaay more sadistic and predatory nature than Bo. Also he's officially the more dangerous Sinclair since Bo couldn't even manage to kill Carly and Nick with a freakin shotgun at close range 😂 smdh

I think I've highlighted in other posts some of these instances but please feel free to send another ask for me to talk about them again! I miss talkin about these boys.

Anywho, outside Bo's outburst at Vinny in the kitchen, he doesn't show that much anger and such. And even then he had a crossbow bolt in his shoulder and had been outwitted by their victims like 3 times at that point. (again he's so bad at his 'job' 😂) Vinny straight up ignores that outburst anyway and Bo immediately starts soothing the situation. Apologizing and trying to reconnect through talkin bout the family legacy.

I'll also say that for almost half the movie Bo is in 'actor' mode. Puttin on the charm to manipulate the group. I was honestly surprised how long he kept it up even when Carly had locked him outta the truck. And while it could be seen as some fucked up sexual and power fantasy thing, after duck taping Carly to the chair he shhhhs her all gentle and keeps his voice soft. Even when gluing her mouth shut.

I also have the hc that Bo is hella susceptible to anyone showing him kindness--usually a trait that people ascribe to Vinny in fanon-- because he was the neglected and abused son. Like fair to say they all are violent (they are murders of many people) but I feel like he's always characterized as this extra broody, mean/grumpy alcoholic, which when I watch the movie he's not really any of that.

So yeah, while I do love the grumpy broody Bo trait, I think he's real touch/attention/love starved and would be hella fuckin soft with someone he loves. I've headcannoned that he doesn't like being that way around his brothers but I think that's fanon too now that I'm typing this all out.

Much of this could be considered conjecture cause they spent way too much time on the college kids when they should've just focused on the brothers and Paige then being the final girl (still bitter) but yep. That's why I think he's a softy. 🥰

Alright, if I must be brutally honest:

Like. To me the setup "the Lord and his pretty loyal knights who'd do anything for him out of gratitude" is so damn obvious. (well, I did find two Draactor fanfictions. they were bad. one of them was pretty good except Hector was so OOC it hurt, and the other was NFCV levels of WTF. so yeah. let's just say they were inspirational...)

anyway I don't know what else to say, Draactor in general has consumed my mind. Isaactor is a fun divorsties ship because I love to imagine how their relationship, potentially solid and wholesome, crumbled apart due to their life circumstances, a tragic case of "they were at the wrong place in the wrong time but they couldn't meet anywhere else". I love how they are very different, but with just enough similarities to mesh together, and those similarities is their brand of toxicity (I want Hector to be more of a bastard lol, down with "meanie Isaac abused poor Hector"). And Hecula just hits all my favorite tropes that make me go "oh this is very gross and bad and disgusting 🥰" while also keeping the themes proposed by CoD about Hector being forced to be Dracula's reflection <3

Joachim is kind of a freebie, for lack of a better word lol. We don't know much how he'd be free from his cell, let alone several centuries into the future. But I like the proposed version of him being sarcastic, irriverent (too old for Dracula's shit lol), constantly on the edge of snapping, but also still unused to being loved and appreciated. Much like a certain redhead :P so, somehow, the two fit together like a glove. Isaac would not be disturbed by Joachim's nature and appreciate being appreciated. Joachim would simply admire Isaac's qualities like his passion and wit and not compare him with anyone, and himself being touched that he's not considered a "crazy old vampire".

Hector is harder to fit, and it feels like it's mostly "Isaac and his two boyfriends" lmao. However, Joachim would not create that competitive environment Dracula did, the opposite in fact, which might allow the two boys to relax around each other and rekindle that old friendship they had as kids. I like the idea of Joachim seeing himself in Hector (arrogant but so vulnerable to the manipulations of a bastard vampire lord who is keeping him in a cage of sorts) and so gently trying to steer him away from Dracula. Maybe they wouldn't fall in love, they're not each other's type at all, but they could grow close.

also i still haven't grasped joachim on that front but i have my headcanons on hector and isaac's lax/concerning relationship with sex and good luck to the vampire trying to fix it :P

Yes, she might not have much of a personnality due to how unexistant she's been in the game >:l But at least her design is top tier <3 Lovely, majestic woman <3 (and i will forever HC her to be tall) Anyway, outside of fanon and my own interpretations of her... there's not much to tell. I love her more because of how i imagined her and her relationship with Mathias than because of what canon gave us, for how little it was lmao

And you know who ELSE deserved better from the canon ? Joachim.

Granted, at least, HE had an apparition. But he still deserved better >:l He seems so interesting, we have only hints of his past with Walter and it doesn't tell us much outside of "i hate him and want his throne". And then we have conflicting informations, like the fact his 300 yrs/old, but has been turned by Walter, but also Walter is 42... and yeah i guess you can say he's been turned at 42 but idk. I like the idea that he's younger than Joachim as much as i like the idea that he did turned Joachim and all the things that could've happen to lead to the current situation :( (Also i was VERY close to check "not to be a homosexual, but". Kojima's artworks of him are just so <3 Aaaaa <3)

Now, to talk about the one, the only, redhead bastard of his century: Walter Bernhard.

He has no right being that hot, for a start. There's not enough panels to describe my feelings about him in this bingo. What can I say, i love him. Not as much as Dracula nor Mathias, but i do <3 I think he's a good villain (and a very funny one if we think that he's only 42 and already bored with his eternal life), and I still very much want to know his past with Joachim. >:(

Now there's a character he has a past with that we know enough of. And it's the old-man-but-actually-he's-not-that-old man: Rinaldo.

Not much to say about that man tbh. He sure is there, and I do appreciate him and everything he does. And also the tragedy of him having to kill his own daughter because of Bastard Bernhard :'3

He saw Mathias and was seduced immediately <3 Also he's a little bastard for betraying Walter, but tbf, if Walter was bored, chances are Death was too, and Mathias was bringing him something new and exciting so who can blame him, really <3 (not like Walter deserved him anyway, smh. how much you wanna bet he was seeing Death like a servant or even a mere tool more than anything ? At least Mathias saw him as a person <3 Enough that he'll become his most trusted confidant <3 They're so cute fr)

dano: my husband made me watch the batman because he remembered about the time i had a mental breakdown and thought i could solve the zodiac murders (i didn't) and i loved that stinky spherical man so much

arkham: then i was like "mmmm more riddler content please" and a lot of people really liked that horrible rat boy, and i remembered him briefly, more so the fact that he annoyed my husband when he was playing the arkham games, so then i got unhinged about him

gotham: i saw a lot of gotham stuff on my dashboard, mutuals/people i followed had that overlap love of dano and gotham so i knew i had to watch it myself for the lanky little angel that is gotham!eddie

capullo: his disgusting smirk and terrible sideburns captivated me. again he was a dashboard casualty. i see these boys once and my mind goes "that one there, that's the bastard now" so it's not really my decision
