Helluva Boss: A Show For "Mature" Audiences That Isn't Very Mature

Something that's very funny to me is how Helluva Boss is an adult show, meaning that its supposed to be mature, and more mature than a kids show. However, the show really isn't that mature when you really think about it; sure, it's supposed to be viewed for mature audiences, and It by no means is for kids at all but...HB is really just the superficial version of mature. The show constantly crams in gore, swears and sex jokes all the damn time as a way to just appear edgy. It's not mature as in "it has mature and deep messages and themes" its the superficial version of mature, the type of mature that's just "let's shove in a bunch of swears and sex jokes into this show so people can KNOW its for adults!".

The show feels like its trying so damn hard to be edgy and crams swears and sex jokes into its dialogue because its an "adult" show. 70% of the dialogue in this show is awful because of the amount times it feels the need to shove in swears and sex jokes into every single line the characters say. It feels like the show is just..trying to be edgy with no substance to it. The only really mature theme HB has is Stolas's sexual desires for Blitz...but now its just completely dropped as Stolitz is suppoused to be seen as a healthy reletionship for some reason.

A majority of the villains are very one-dimensional Saturday morning cartoon villains too. HB feels like a show that's just overly obsessed with being edgy so it can come across as "mature". And while you can technically say that HB is mature as the show isn't exactly for kids and is aimed towards adults, again, its only the superficial version of mature, the show isn't really that mature in terms of its actual writing.

But here's the REAL kicker here; the shows I primarily enjoy watching are kids shows on Disney Channel, and...well, lets take a look at the themes and messages of these shows aimed towards kids that I've seen, shall we?

Gravity Falls: Tells a story about growing up, and how, while growing up may seem hard, you don't have to grow up alone, and that even when you grow up, that doesn't mean you have to let go

Amphibia: Tells a story about three girls who are all heavily flawed people in a toxic friendship. Ends with a message about change and how while it may be hard, sometimes; things change, and you need to accept that.

The Owl House: Tells a story about a girl who was ostracized for her whole life who was able to make real connections with others and find a place where she truely belongs.

Ducktales: Has an old man rediscover the value of family after pushing away his loved ones after losing his niece

Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur: Has an episode where the main message is that you should stand up for your community, and how you can make your voice be heard no matter what.

The Ghost and Molly Mcgee (SPOILERS FOR THE FINALE): Final episode has a beautiful and mature message about how you should spend your life to the fullest, take risks and not be afraid or play it safe, and has a character go and spend his life to the fullest when he becomes human again

These "kids shows" have more mature and thoughtful messages and themes as well as better writing than this "adult" show. Helluva Boss has me groaning and getting frustrated at all the bad writing and wasted potential in its second season. Meanwhile, Amphibia's second season almost gets me to cry not once, but twice. These shows have more compelling and nuanced characters than HB, they don't constantly try to coddle them and absolve them of their mistakes, rather for some of them, they make the characters actually grow as people, something HB has NOT done at all.

Helluva Boss is an adult show, yet these kids' shows not only have more nuanced characters than it, but they are also unironically more mature than HB despite being shows targeted towards a younger audience. Its extremely funny to me how Viv said that HB is "Bojack Horseman with demons" when HB is less mature than kids' shows that aired on the Disney Channel.

Helluva Boss isn't a mature show, it's just an overly edgy one.

Begin Again - Chapter 2

Mack POV

Alex is staring at me and shakes her head.

"Mack, I'm so sorry."

I bob my head, "It's okay. I mean, it's not, but you don't have to apologize."

She smiles sadly, "I do. I'm sorry for your loss."

I nod, "Thanks."

She sighs, "Can I ask what happened?"

I nod, "Car accident. She was coming home from work."

"That's horrible, Mack." She reaches her hand out and covers mine.

Her hand is warm and comforting, it feels like it's always been there.

'It feels like Ally's.'

"It was. Riley took it really hard. I mean I did too, but Riley didn't understand. I don't think she will fully understand for a while."

"That makes sense." She says and pulls her hand away.

I immediately miss the contact.

I sigh and wipe my face, "So what do you do?"

She chuckles, "I play soccer."

"Like professionally?"

She nods, "You know, most gay women know who I am."

I feel my cheeks heat up.

"I'm just kidding. Well, I mean I'm not, but I'm just teasing. Yes, professionally. I play for Wave FC."

I bob my head, "That's so cool. I want to come to a game."

My eyes widen and she laughs, "Well good, because I want you and Riley to come to our next one."

I smile.

"What do you do?"

"I'm a teacher. High school English to be exact."

"Wow, that's awesome."

I nod, "Not as awesome as being a soccer player."

She chuckles, "But being a teacher changes kids lives. I bet you're a cool teacher."

I shake my head and laugh, "Only for my students who are doing their best."

She smiles and I feel butterflies.

"So where's Charlie tonight?" I ask.

"She's at her dad's, we're divorced." She says.

I nod, "Oh."

She sighs, "It's fairly recent. Like a few months, Charlie is still getting used to it."

I bob my head, "That has to be hard."

"It is, but we alternate weekends."

"Are you guys amicable at least?" I ask.

"Mostly. Like we argue about small things. He doesn't always love my soccer schedule, but we make it work." She says.

I stare at her.

'God, she's so beautiful.'

"Where's Riley tonight?" Alex asks.

"My mom came over. Riley, she doesn't- well she's really attached to me. It's hard to have a sitter, so I mostly use my mom."

She softens, "She lost one mom, she's afraid to lose another."

I sigh and nod, "Exactly."

She smiles softly.

"So, who are you here with?" I ask.

She shakes her head, "A few of my teammates who are convinced that I need to start dating."

My eyes widen, "Oh."

I start to stand up, "I can let you get back to uh-that. You shouldn't sit out here with me."

She chuckles and grabs my hand, "I'm exactly where I need to be."

I look at her hand and feel my face heat up.

I slowly sit back down and look up.

"What was your wife's name?"

I stare at her and smile, "Ally."

She bobs her head, "Did Ally ever tell you that the tips of your ears turn red when you're embarrassed?"

I nod and chuckle, "Yeah. All of the time, would call me adorable."

My phone buzzes, which snaps me out of staring at Alex.

I grab it.

Mom: She's asleep. Took a few Disney movies and more stories than I can count, but she's up in your bed.

I let out a breath.

"Everything okay?"

I set my phone down and look up, "Yeah, just my mom letting me know that Riley is finally asleep."

She smiles, "Well that's good."

I smile, "Really good, she usually gives my mom a harder time. But she's in my bed."

She chuckles, "That's cute. Charlie will crawl into bed with me too."

I smile and have this moment where I imagine being in bed with Alex. Riley and Charlie crawling into bed with us and sleeping like a fam-.

"Mack?" I shake my head.

She chuckles, "You like zoned out."

I smile softly at her, "Sorry, was just thinking."

She bobs her head and looks at her watch.

"Past your bedtime?" I tease.

She shakes her head and bites her lip, "No, but um- I was hoping that you'd want to go for a walk on the beach?"

I look down at my ring finger on my left hand and bob my head, looking up.

"Sure." I say.

She stands up and I stand too, "Hold on, let me tell Lauren that we're heading out."

She smiles and nods, "Meet outside."

I nod and head to find Lauren who is dancing with some girl.

I wave and she stops then walks over, "Hey!"

"Hey, I'm going to head out with Alex." I say.

She smiles, "Have fun, but not too much fun."

I glare, "I'm not ready for that, we're just going to the beach to walk and talk."

She gives me a thumbs up, "See yah!"

I watch her go back to dancing and head out front to see Alex.

She sees me and smiles, "Ready?"

I nod, "Yeah, let's go."

Alex POV

We start walking and make it down to the beach.

"Okay, so you're a professional soccer player?"

I nod.

"So have you always played here in San Diego?" She asks.

I chuckle and shake my head, "Okay. You really are going to need a rundown."

She smiles.

"Okay so for starters, I grew up outside of LA, so I played there. Then went to Berkeley and played there."

She nods, "So Berkeley? You're like a super genius then?"

I shrug, "I mean I'm smart, yeah. Super genius? No."

She laughs, "Okay, then where?"

"I played on two teams here in California then those leagues folded and a new league started, which I went to New York. After that, went to Seattle. Now, a new league formed and I went to Portland, was there until 2016. There, I got traded to Orlando to follow my ex. I then did a stint in France for like six months."

I turn and see her trying to following along and chuckle.

"Okay so stayed in Orlando, but during Covid, went to North London."

She stops walking, "Wait, when did you have Charlie?"

"In 2020, after the World Cup-"

"The World Cup?! Wait, you're on the national team?"

I laugh and nod, "Yup, kind of a big deal."

"Seriously. Okay keep going."

"Okay after coming back to Orlando, I asked for a trade in 2021. So I've been here since last year."

"Whoa. Wait it's 2023. Isn't it a World Cup year?"

I nod, "It is. Going to be gone like all of July and August."

"Whoa." Mack says.

I chuckle, "It's a lot, I know."

"I mean. That's a resume. You've been everywhere."

I nod, "I have, but I like being here the most. The beach, my family, the city. I really love it."

We start walking again and she nods, "That makes sense. My mom moved here after Ally died."

"Where did she live before?" I ask.

"Philadelphia. That's where I'm from, actually."

"Nice. I've played there." I say.

She smiles, "So, do you have siblings?"

I nod, "Two sisters, they're both older. You?"

"I have an older brother and a younger sister."

"What about your dad?" I ask.

"Oh. Uh, he's not really around. He hasn't been since I was pretty young."

I stop walking, "Oh, I'm sorry."

She shakes her head, "It's fine, he just- he was a drunk, cheated on my mom, and then just left us."

"Wow. That's horrible."

I start walking again.

"It was, but it's okay. So when's your next game?"

"Sunday actually." I say.

"Sunday. Okay, Riley and I will be there." She says.

"I'll get you guys tickets." I say.

She laughs, "Okay, cool. Can my mom come?"

"Sure, I'll get her a ticket too." I say.

While we're walking, our hands keep brushing and I feel butterflies.

We start heading back to the bar and Mack stops, "I uh, how did you get here?"

I chuckle, "Took an Uber, you?"

"I drove and I promise I'm sober, so can I-uh drive you home?"

"You want to drive me home?" I ask.

She looks up and nods, "Definitely."

"Okay, let's go." I say.

We get into her car and I look at her, "So, why a teacher?"

She shrugs, "I love learning. I love watching others learn and I feel like I'm making a difference."

I smile, "You are making a difference. What did Ally do?"

"She was a surgeon."

"Wow, she was a super genius then."

She smiles and nods, "She was, I mean she went to medical school at Johns Hopkins."

"You know, I haven't really talked about her to anyone." She continues.

My eyes widen, "Oh my god. I'm sorry, Mack. I can stop asking-"

She grabs my hand, "No, don't. It's easy to talk about her to you. I think because you didn't know her and your not analyzing me like my therapist. So please keep asking."

I go to pull my hand away, but she keeps holding it.

I smile, "Okay. So how'd you guys meet?"

She laughs, "Bad dancing."

"Bad dancing?" I question.

She follows the GPS and turns into my neighborhood.

"Yeah. At a party in college. I was drunk and dancing horribly. She laughed at me and offered to help, dancing with me. The rest is history." She says.

I laugh, "Wow. That's- I want to see these bad dance moves."

She shakes her head, "Yeah, no. Never."

I squeeze her hand, "I'll get you to dance, promise."

She laughs, "Okay, whatever you say."

"Whoa. Big house." She says.

I look over and smile, "Yeah, my dream house."

I turn back, "See you Sunday?"

She smiles, "Maybe before?"

I chuckle, "Definitely. Text me."

"I will."

She pulls her hand away and I immediately crave the contact.

"Okay, night, Mack."

"Night, Alex."

I get out and watch as she pulls away.

I walk inside of the house.

'A big, empty house.'

Mack POV

"Mommy!" I open my eyes and groan.

"Mommy, wake up!" Riley says.

I smile and roll over, tickling her.

"Mommy! Tickle monster!!" She squeals.

I stop and kiss her nose, "Morning, monkey."

"Morning, mommy! I missed you last night." She sighs.

"I missed you more." I say and squeeze her tight.

"Pancakes, momma?"

I smile, "Yeah, let's go!"

She gets out of bed and races down the stairs.

I rollover and look at the picture on my nightstand.

'Is it okay to move on, babe? Give me a sign.'

I get up and get downstairs to see Riley with Max on the couch.

"Okay, blueberry or chocolate chip?" I ask.

She turns, "Chocolate chip, just like momma liked!"

I smile and nod, "Coming right up."

I walk to the kitchen and start pulling out everything needed.

I go to start making coffee and groan when I realize I have none.

I'm starting to wallow in self-pity when I get an idea.

I pull out my phone and create a new message.

Me: Good morning. How do you feel about saving an idiot who ran out of coffee but so desperately needs some.

I set my phone down and continue making pancakes when my phone starts going off.

Alex: I'm assuming this is Mack, and I'll get some and be right over. Just send me your address.

I smile and send her the address and continue flipping pancakes.

I finish up and hear the doorbell.

"Mommy! Someone is here!" Riley says.

I walk to the door and open it, smiling when I see Alex with coffees.

"My savior." I sigh and reach out.

She chuckles and I hold the door open for her to come in.

"Charlie's mommy! Where's Charlie?" Riley asks while running in.

"Hi Riley! Charlie couldn't come today, but I'm hoping that I can hang out with you?"

She thinks about it, "Do you like Bluey?"

"I love bluey!" Alex says dramatically and I stifle a laugh.

"Do you like pancakes? Mommy makes the best pancakes."

"I do love pancakes too." Alex says.

Riley nods, "Okay, you can come."

She turns and heads to the kitchen.

"Wow, all I need to come over apparently is coffee and loving a kids TV show and pancakes." She says.

I smile and nod, "We're easy to please."

"Is that so?" She smirks and walks towards the kitchen.

My mouth hangs open and I shake my head while walking into the kitchen.

24: Everyone knows that fandom doesn’t like uther but what are your feelings about gaius?

I think 1) we need more concrete info about how he was when he was younger, but 2) i think he is severely complicated and wanted what was best of merlin and morgana, but failed the two while also giving them a ton of love. With morgana, he just didnt want her to pursue her power lest she become uther's next victim, cuz gaius cares for the pendragon siblings like his own. With merlin, he was just trying his best with his overpowered nephew, who alos has a destiny regarding his people's genocide's son, and he just doesn't know what to do half the time, kinda like merlin. I didnt like how he lied to merlin n morgana, how he gaslit her and how he made merlin hide and become so anxious abt his magic (and we see what that looks like season 5), but i get it. I really get it. I dont know what i wouldve done if one wrong move could mean the death of two kids he considers his own. I bet he was scared all the time and hated himself for it.

Elyan. There was, quite literally, no need for it. I was gonna say Lancelot, since we did not get enough of him, but his death made sense for his character. Elyan? What the fuck was that? It was just for pain and nothing else. What did it add to the story if not just a sad funeral scene and thats it? It just felt like they wanted him gone n found a way, and that pisses me off. I feel like him saving gwen and living would've given such a complex situation when she turns evil, 'cause what if she "confides" more n more in her brother, creating a rift between arthur n elyan, which then creates a rift between arthur n the knights, which would just isolate him further n make him suffer, which is what morgana wanted!! we couldve had protective brother elyan! I think i just wanted more knights in general.

Warnings: Mentions of swearing and implied swearing, by that I mean I censor the two swears in here.

Notes: .... :3 HOPE YOU ENJOY❗❗I'm still sick rip, but tried to make these as good as possible <3

- Blitzo is a dad caregiver, so he ofcourse makes loona your big sister <3 So yes, family nights do happen. and he will burst into happy tears if you call him or loona any abbreviation of family- (Call him dada, papa, or just dad and he'll actually explode.)

- Blitzo is an overprotective caregiver, he takes his role as your caregiver very seriously and practically starts barking at people who look at you the wrong way. He's not afraid to get in a fist fight if anyone says anything against your regression.

- When he hugs you, his tail wraps around you to make you two feel closer <3 His tail will either wrap around your waist/tummy or it'll wrap around your wrist, on that note when you two are going out he usually has his tail wrapped around your wrist to keep track of you (Basically his own version of a child leash-)

- Probably gives you a nickname where he just takes your name and adds a y to the end, also calls you his baby 24/7 !!

- Does hold onto everything incase you regress suddenly, Blitzo isn't embarrassed by carrying around your stuff animal or your paci if you want it !! You regress and he's pulling items out of his jacket like a magician. "okay take your paci and your stuffie and your bottle- wait no, fu*k, I need the bottle to feed you, take your other stuffie-"

- Gets jealous easily, will never leave you to be babysat and will actually explode if someone takes care of you for more then two seconds. They picked you up? Blitzo is tweaking out, he's the only one allowed to pick you up! "PUT MY BABY DOWN YOU MOTHERFUC-"

- Constantly praising you for being the cutest and littlest baby ever, practically is a grandma with how much he squeezes and pinches your cheeks. If anyone wants to know where he is, he's probably cooing at you.

- Blitzo will watch kid movies with you, like Disney movies, however will criticize them. Has a thing against Cinderella for some reason??- but he loves it, especially when you sit on his lap as you two are on the couch together. Totally lets you play with his tail absentmindedly

- I don't think Blitzo is absolutely amazing at cooking as he never really bothered to learn, but he can make simple things. Usually just buys you dino nuggets and some other stuff and calls it a day, but he does make cute little scenes with the food- Like a dino on the beach using mashed potatoes. Probably somehow gets really mushy with it, I mean like makes ketchup hearts.

- When you're younger however, he's the absolute gentlest. Has a gentle grip on your bottle and your head as he tilts it back to feed you, probably even spoils you with strawberry milk sometimes. Also when he buys you baby food, he does infact try some- he swears it was to encourage you! (Also he was curious but- hey don't giggle at him!)

- If you can't tell, Blitzo takes every chance to tell you he loves you and he always, always means it. He loves taking care of you, and has no shame in your regression like mentioned before. He will brag about you being the cutest baby though, gives children dirty looks still. "..Not as cute as my baby."

- This also means you have him wrapped around your finger, You want that thing?? He's bought two and they are in your favorite colors. You can get away with breaking rules- although Blitzo isn't a strict caregiver so there's not alot of rules to break, minus bedtime.. But he won't punish you, he'll probably just make you sleepy by cuddling or warm milk- or sleepy time music as he calls it.

- Blitzo doesn't stop swearing around you, however he doesn't make any lewd jokes and he will fight anyone who does around you. Gets all dramatic and everything, covers your ears and looks at them with an absolute shocked look. A hypocrite when he comes to you.. "How dare you say that around my baby! They are too young for this-"

- Will not let you ignore your regression. Oh you are too busy? With what? Oh with your work- he's finished it. Oh you are stressing- all the more reason to regress! And yes he will gently trick you into regressing if absolutely necessary. Although he isn't the best at doing it secretly, especially when he tries to half-baby you but.. Ohmygoodnessyouaresoadorable so he ends up just babying you-

- Totally the type of caregiver to sit on the edge of your bed and read you a story, probably even gets you those lights that spin around the room and show cool shapes to help you sleep. However if you can't sleep, he'll totally stay up and cuddle with you <3 Snuggles right into your bed, pulls the blankets over you two and gently rubs your back as he waits for you to fall asleep.

But he ends up falling asleep with you, he feels so much more better knowing his baby is in his arms and safe.

Barbie: An essay. Accepting Hyperfeminity

A Film Beyond Feminism

Yesterday I had the biggest privilege to watch Barbie and it really got me thinking that I do indeed have a lot of things to say about it. This purely how I feel and all of my emotions that I am pouring into the screen, some may agree some may not and that is okay.

Phase one : Feminism, Love & War

The theme of the film is indeed feminism but what a lot of people are not talking enough about or overlooking is the fact what a huge impact being girly had been over the years, since the 90's to 2000's the whole plot of girly being associated with being a bimbo really made a lot of women hate or look down upon being a girly girl. To this day even after the release of the film I do feel sorry to say but there are still a lot of people especially women who feel uncomfortable to be girly, they are afraid of being judged for being not smart enough or not being able to be taken seriously.

This whole hate has extended even towards disney princessess. So many parenting books, videos and even women themselves hating on disney princess just because a man saved them when as a matter of fact disney characters go way beyond man saviour. Cinderella just wanted to go to ball and enjoy, despite being in an abusive household she still loved and appreciated people around her she didn't let bad things influence her, if someone says this is toxic positivity then I have to disagree because she genuinely didn't seem delusional. She was smart, witty, cracked jokes, used sarcasm and found peace in talking to animals. This to me at least is mentally strong not toxic positivity. Ariel just wanted to see the human world but she just happened to fall in love along the way, Belle loved the beast because she taught him how to be free from his own demons, she saw, she taught, she gave him the warmth and love he was lacking.

Other thing is people always look down upon love, my question is why shouldn't there be love? One can be independent and yet still be in love. One can dream and still be in love. People these days are so heartbroken and bitter they have shut themselves off of the whole love scene but might I say that love is more than just romantic feelings, love can be between parents and a kid, love can be between you and your dreams/passion/goals, love can be between you and your pet, love can be between you and the stuffed animal toy you have had since you were a baby, love can even be with knowing when you come home everything is same as it was and it can even be when it comes to changes.

I do believe and hope that after the impact of this film people especially women aren't afraid to be girly because a woman who is girly, love shopping, getting nails done, lives for colour pink, does makeup is just as much of a feminist as a woman who opposes the girly girl spectrum.

Phase two: I Kennot even

Ken was one of the most well written second lead character, I cannot stress on this enough. How I see the film is that in the beginning Barbie land was actually never really equal per say because the playout of it was so co dependent, yes, I understand that was the intention but I would love to dive deeper. Barbie land is the opposite of real world so just like in the real world the power disbalance was so real. I was really reminded of those days when all men did was work and women weren't allowed to do anything so they just longed for their husbands ro return from work. They dresses up for them, made plans for them and practically lived for them. I loved this scene so much because it really showed that Greta knows about feminism because indeed feminism means women and men are equal and either disbalance can really cause a huge harm and we saw that when kens were constantly fighting for all barbie's approvals and lived life through their partners.

When ken went to real world, he was exposed to patriarchy and for once when he saw men being valued he ran with it, the whole reason he even did patriarchy to Barbie land was just to get Barbie's attention when he said "it doesn't feel nice does it" and "when I came to know patriarchy wasn't about horses I instantly lost all interest" shows that he did all of that just so Barbie notices him.

In a way, well like my opinion I see both Barbie and Ken as victims.

Barbie has been shammed by extremist over the years because people think Barbie has unreleastic body but no one see the fact that barbies were created to give girls hope, Barbie has all the careers and can be huge inspiration to little girls everywhere that a girl can be beauty and brains. Barbie was never about making little girls feel bad they were meant to see as "bad" all because of extremists.

Ken was indeed just created to be Barbie's boyfriend and indeed lives up to the name "just Ken" but this film really made us feel his importance too! Towards the end when kens finally have a job assigned by president they have somewhere to start and have their own identity. They will be more than just kens and partners.

Phase three: Conclusion

Both of them had their own journey of self discovery, both of them also had break downs, gave up and kens made bad decisions but they didn't know any better but along the way they really grew up and mentally became mature.

Greta really knows what she did and really captured the prefect ambiance of what needs to be showed. She really gave both characters such depth and love, she really is very talented and I love her for making a film that goes beyond feminism, it is much more than women empowerment. This film not only showed us strong woman power but also showed that patriarchy is taught never learned, people don't know any better, power of influence and accepting women for wanting traditional life as well as accepting who opposes.

I will forever be in favour for this brilliant film. Much love to Greta, cast and behind the scenes cast and of course the colour pink.

Can a Wittebane special ever air on Disney Channel? I wonder how they will tackle the religious themes and murder of Caleb while keeping it Child friendly.

HAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH Oh, wait, you actually think it'd focus on Philip?

Sorry for the mocking statements but that is the long and short of it. To keep it child friendly, for what is most compelling, and for what would be most in line with TOH, the way a Wittebane special would go is actually pretty easy to map out, at least with the moments that we know about:

You start with a teenage boy looking gaunt and exhausted as he prepares for a day in the woods to forage for things that he can get and wood to chop. He needs to make money for him and his little brother, Philip, after all. He hasn't really gotten to eat much more than scraps for the past couple days but hey, that's okay. Philip gets to eat and that's all the nourishment Caleb needs. He wants his little brother to have a proper childhood and he'll give up anything for that.

While out in the woods that day though, he catches a smell. An absolutely divine smell. He follows it to its source and finds a woman in a cloak feeding the animals of the area. The bread she has smells like heaven but how she speaks to the animals reeks of the devil. His stomach gives him away though and she turns with a wry grin. She isn't afraid of him but intrigued because he didn't immediately attack, something she calls out when he won't eat her bread because of his suspicions. They strike a deal that Evelyn will tell him a truth in return for the bread. That way he knows his soul isn't the price of it. "Are you a witch?" "Yes." And that moment of pure honesty makes Caleb pause. Then he runs. He runs fast and hard, racing back to town to be sure that he can tell everyone and potentially get his brother away. To keep him safe from that which threatens them all. However, he is stopped by the fact that his little brother is sobbing and soaked. One of the other kids tricked him into the river and said they shouldn't have bother to be washed up onto the shore. They should have just drowned in the ocean because if God wanted them, they would still have... have... Caleb holds him tight before looking at the sole remaining photo he has of all four of them. The next day he is in mass, his leg shaking as he listens to the fire and brimstone the preacher speaks of. He can't focus on the words though. Not as he looks at how the kids that hurt Philip are at the front of the pews while they sit in the back because no one wants them near them. There's anger and hate in this room and it gnaws at his gut just as badly as his hunger does.

And so now we get some time of Philip and Evelyn bonding, romancing and we see the seasons pass in a sweet, effective montage to speedrun their romance, especially if this is just a 44 minute special or the like, let alone if it's 22. This montage could easily also show how the two growing older and contrast Caleb's joys of embracing the other with Philip's growing anger as he spends time in town and is indoctrinated, all without having to say what he is being indoctrinated for besides imagery of burning fires.

Then finally, we have Evelyn asking when Caleb plans to tell his brother. Caleb doesn't know. At first it was to make sure Evelyn was actually safe. Then never finding the right time because of fear of someone in town hearing. Now... Now Philip is so converted to witch hunting that he doesn't know what to do. They're even considering making his little brother witch hunter general because of just how committed he is. Caleb feels defeated and tired and all he really feels like he has left is Evelyn.

"Well... Maybe it's time to find your own path then. Your brother will be fine at your home and... And maybe you'll be fine at mine. With the rest of the witches."

It then cuts to Philip, furious, slamming open the door to the house. He has a ritual dagger in his hand... Because he has been named a lead hunter while one of those brats from when they were younger is Witch Hunter General. Just another time where the town decided to choose the people over parents than him. Over the one with the purest soul in town. At least, he thinks as he picks up the family photo and tries to calm himself, one of them. He needs his brother. He's gone again. He wishes Caleb would let him take care of him now. He makes enough money through the church to support them after all. He doesn't have to keep risking his life in the woods anymore.

"With the rest of the witches."

Philip's heart sinks. What? Who is this woman? He's never seen her? Wait, if she's with the witches, his brother is in danger! But the rest of them? If he waits for them to go he can find all of them and they'll HAVE to make him witch hunter general! But that means risking Caleb's life. He can't allow that, even for his own-

"You're right. Philip will just be happier here and... And maybe just best that I vanish. He'll just blame a witch for it anyways and trying to say goodbye would only put as all in danger." Tears come down Philip's face and his knuckles turn white as rain begins. A familiar door opens up next to Evelyn and she turns the key we all know in it. The shine of the portal illuminates Philip's face before a bolt of lightning has it change to Belos' mask and the special ends.

And that's it. It isn't a fun version of it but there's literally no version of the Wittebanes, without major retcons, that can be told in a fun way. They are orphans from a super conservative colony who majored in witch hunting before then having a schism between them be formed due to that witch hunting. This potentially, because it's up to interpretation, led to Philip killing Caleb. Bare minimum, something happens to Caleb that leads to him being dead and haunting his brother while Philip is left stranded on the Isles with no way of going back without finding his own way. The only part of that story that could be fun or comedic is the romance plotline with Evelyn and Caleb. It's also the one that allows the most to be left in obscurity about Belos, thus enabling the show not to contradict its own lore that way. Worse yet, it's also just the best story to tell there besides the rise of witch hunter Belos but those themes are indeed incredibly dark and SUPER not fun to tackle directly so it's better that it happens mostly off screen. Also, you know, it makes sure that the show doesn't glorify bigotry and hate by having us see the rise of Philip into bigoted witch hunter from his perspective. Instead, the story focuses on being critical of such things and accepting the other, which is theoretically in line with TOH in general.

It could be an effective special but I don't think it'd end up being what Belos fans want and for people who don't like Belos, the most they'll get out of it is ANOTHER quirky romance from TOH that mirrors Huntlow too much to feel unique or special. In other words, it's mostly a lose lose situation, especially since none of these elements will make the base story any deeper. It'll just add to the confusion some feel for the fact that they believe Belos is a victim and a product of his society who has a sympathetic reason for his anger but then is just a one note, pure evil villain in the main show.

This is honestly the problem with almost anything that addresses anything we saw in the show. The contradictory nature of the base product's writing, and how it slaughtered concepts at the root, means that expanding on these concepts can only make the contradictions worse. It can only make the base work worse or have MORE people screaming "WHY WASN'T THIS INCLUDED!?"

It's like how me and my Discord finally settled on one option for a lore book that could actually work for TOH if they wanted to release one for the show: One that tells us all about the Isles we didn't see. We see so little of it after all that just telling us about all these neat towns, the ways they operate, or expanding on the forms of magic that never got to do anything, could be neat. It doesn't fix the base show's lack of creativity or consistency but it doesn't inherently conflict with it either. It would just be there as harmless lore that also would have a bad hook for any readers because unlike the journals for Gravity Falls or Amphibia, they wouldn't expand on a character or the like.

The best route for TOH to go is to pull a Harry Potter, again (I hate how often this show forces me to bring up that stupid series) and make Fantastical Beasts and Where to Find Them. Either the movie or the book as either are at best tangentially related to the series but mostly just have the name of the series on them for brand recognition because the authors of both works didn't make a good enough world to actually tell anything more compelling within it after the story was done. Not without making the base product look worse.

And that includes the story of the Wittebanes.

What sucks is that I actually do like the plot I wrote up for the Wittebanes. Like this could genuinely be a really interesting story to make. However A: I wouldn't do fanfiction for it because of the requirement of one killing the other eventually that effectively demands no nuance between Caleb and Philip, forcing their dynamic to be very basic and B: it still suffers from having to be basic because Belos is a basic bitch evil guy while all signs from the show point to Caleb having been an absolute paragon. I made him about as gray as I could in my write up and it's still not much.

Ugh. Okay. Derision is out on Gloob. I have been exposed to the leaks already and I have been completely disgusted by this episode and everything in it. I refuse to watch it, even when it comes out on Disney Channel in the States. But I will still offer to you my commentary.

Okay, the prank. I actually don't mind the story of the prank... on its own. I can absolutely see pre-series Chloé pulling it and Kim, as he was portrayed in Season 1, participating in it. But then it quickly falls apart.

It's pretty transparent that the episode only exists to further demonize Chloé, but it doesn't really send much of a message as it doesn't tell us anything new about how she acted; it only shows us more of what she did and what we already knew she did back then. "Back then" is important, as there is no point in showing this to us now, four seasons and seven years later, except to further push the narrative of Chloé being pure evil even now. (Which she isn't, but I digress.)

It's a blatant retcon meant to say that Chloé is the reason why Marinette has trouble talking to Adrien. Not general shyness or anxiety—it's all because she was traumatized by a mean prank that Chloé pulled. Marinette's biggest personal struggle is all Chloé's fault, as are her stalker tendencies (which were previously just supposed to be kid's-show-comedy exaggeration), because she is oh so evil.

It contradicts so much characterization, or otherwise makes characters come off as worse.

It also shows that Marinette was so afraid of Chloé’s cruelty that she would fake being sick to avoid going to school.  But even in Origins, before she got the confidence boost from being Ladybug, she was never afraid of Chloé, just exasperated and resigned.  When Chloé demanded that she change seats, Marinette argued before relenting.  When Chloé put gum on her seat (and she thought she had Adrien do it), Marinette snapped at both of them before simply covering the gum up with a tissue and putting up with it.  Oh, also, if she was oh so twaumatized by the prank, why did she agree to help Chloé do something similar to Kagami in “Animaestro”?  The whole thing is disingenuous to Mari, because she wouldn’t have let Chloé cow her like that or scare her away from going to school.

This prank is supposedly the reason why she has trouble talking to Adrien and telling him how she feels, because she is afraid that she could get hurt if she doesn’t know everything about him or any boy she likes.  Except she only has that problem with Adrien.  Not with Luka, and not with Chat Noir.  Heck, she only stammered around Luka for a second, when they first met. (Not to mention the fact that her issues with “maybe I don’t really know Adrien at all” is because Félix tricked her. (Yeesh, he hasn’t even come back yet and the writers might already have been trying to give him the Easily Forgiven treatment.))

Kim probably would have done that back then.  He was kind of a jerk in Season 1.  But still being of the mindset that “it’s just a prank, bro” four seasons into his nicer, more himbo-ish characterization, does not do him any favors.  But here is where this episode really ignores characterization in pushing its narrative: In “Dark Cupid”, when she heard that Kim was planning to ask out the girl he had a crush on, Marinette encourages him to go for it, and when she realizes that it was Chloé, she says that she wouldn’t have given him the encouragement if she had known.  If he was so cruel to her, if she was so traumatized by the prank that he took part in, she shouldn’t want anything to do with him, let alone support his romantic prospects.  But instead she cared about his feelings and felt awful that he had been hurt, as opposed to recalling the incident and thinking “serves him right”.

Adrien/Chat is down to murder Kim for a mean but otherwise not-physically-harmful practical joke that he helped play a year ago when he finds out.  I can understand him going “For the Man Who Has Everything” on Darker Owl after being put through the fantasy and being forced to give it all up, but this is overkill and not at all heroic.

Chloé ironically gets off the easiest, since it’s just her Season 1/pre-series characterization that we already knew was a jerk and a bully.  But the indication in this episode and in “Transmission” that she effectively forced Marinette to not go to school still contradicts her past characterization and actions.  She was generally petty, plus she loved tormenting Marinette for whatever the reason is.  It just doesn’t seem like she would do it, and again, Marinette would not have let someone force her to avoid school.

This is another episode that bends over backward to make Chloé out to be irredeemably evil due to TA's unexplained hate boner for her character, but it brings everyone else down in its character assassination. The general gist of it might have fit in Season 1, as it would have made sense to add more depth and context to Chloé's treatment of Marinette and her peers in that stage, and it would have given legitimate character development to Kim (and "Dark Cupid" would have then shown his and Marinette's relationship improving). But at this point in the show, it only exists to further dunk on Chloé, take all of the nuance out of Marinette's flaws in favor of blaming them on her, and insist that she is pure evil.

More aus where Aleksander ends up becoming a shadow that only Nikolai can see (because of the demon) and it's annoying at best, nerve wrecking at worst, especially when Aleksander starts giving seriously good suggestions due how worried he is about Ravka.

I don't mean a shadow like the ones Alina saw, but really just the silhouette of a man, a solid black figure, like the ones from the Disney Princess and the Frog. There's no way he can touch anything physicaly or do any harm. He must obey the law of the universe, behave like any other shadow.

Aleksander slowly starts forgetting how his face looked like, how it felt to have skin and bones, to eat, to sit under the sunlight and let it fill him. He admits he doesn't enjoy being a ghost that can only haunt Nikolai, but if that is what Ravka wants then he'd obey.

Bonus if Aleksander begs Nikolai to not get rid of the demon because he doesn't want to be alone forever, but he goes to do it anyway and then the ritual ends up bringing Aleksander back to life and it's the angst of the betrayal and the suffering. Maybe at first Aleksander comes back as more a shadow than a man, human-shaped but made of incorporeal darkness. They found that out 'cause he tried to kill Nikolai and his hand went straight through his chest anyway. He can't feel anything, eat anything, can't even sleep. They find out that only feeding himself with Nikolai's demon gives him back some real texture, which is "the worst way to get rid of the demon" in Zoya's opinion.

With time is obvious there's something more getting on Aleksander's nerve and eventually he has to confess to Nikolai he got attached to the prince king pirate whatever. For some foolish reason he thought Nikolai might have tried to stay with him. He sounds like a kid asking his mom to stay by his side in bed because he is afraid of the dark. Nikolai thinks of telling him why would I do that but instead confesses he wanted to, thought about a solution, but the demon was killing him and he could not afford to die. From there on it's chaos after chaos and an avalanche of hidden guilty feelings and the discovery that they might have became friends by accident.

༄ the amusement park is just another place where Kurama can prove he’s the perfect partner. loves holding your hand as you two make your way through the crowd. will carry your water bottle and any stuffed toys he wins for you at the arcade. if you two stay late enough, he’s definitely pulling his jacket off and adjusting it onto your shoulders, keeping you warm as your eyes fix on the nighttime lights and fireworks, all while he’s mesmerized by your expression

How To: Dopamine Decor!

So, recently I went from sharing a bathroom with my partner to taking over the “formerly known as” guest bathroom. How, is not important. What is important, is what I discovered in doing so.....Let’s talk Dopamine Decor! 

So, my background to this is usually first. I remember being a kid and rooms had themes. Like my kitchen as a kid not only changed because I moved a lot, but also because my mom would go from Cows to Chefs to I don’t even remember what came next. When I think of how to decorate a room, I tend to think of one general direction or feel myself. 

For the longest time I only decorated my part of my bedroom and no where else in the house. I used to share a bathroom with my partner, but then they did not have enough space (even though we had equal space in there) so I took over the guest bathroom. Some couples are happier this way, I was not one of those couples. 

So, I had to make my own happiness out of a less than desirable situation. I moved my stuff over and from the get go it was...eclectic. I was looking out in the world for either all disney villain stuff or flamingo stuff or sunflowers. And there just wasn’t like a whole little room worth of decor in any one theme. 

I suddenly realized the theme was...Me. Who was I? What did I like? What did I need to see more? What made me smile? And the answer to that is there is not one thing that makes me smile, more like multiple. So after I made myself the theme, I put what felt right in there like the eclectic hot mess I am. 

My sister ended up sending me a video on Tiktok about Dopamine Decor. I realized that I had stumbled into an on going trend. So, if you have stumbled onto this post and this is your push to try the trend-here are some tips: 

Identify what makes you smile: sometimes you know this and sometimes you discover this as you go. 

Release yourself of judgement: the only person who needs to like it is you, if other people like it then that is a bonus. Do not be afraid to put something out in the fear someone won’t like it, you will never please everyone. 

Trust the process: things will come and go as they are meant to, trust the universe to put you in the right place at the right time. Fate has a way of arranging all the best things in life, like finding that cute sign while thrifting. 

Take it one piece at a time: Don’t worry if that wall seems bare, when you find the right thing to go there-you will quickly forget when it was bare. In the meantime, feel the excitement you are going to feel when it is not empty. 

Don’t break the bank for art: the right items for you don’t need to be expensive. You can make them, find them, thrift them. If you do love something enough, and you don’t care about the price-good for you. But breaking your bank over art doesn’t need to happen. 

Change starts with you. When you change your environment and your choices, the you you are changes with it. Really, interestingly enough this is a great spiritually based practice and some real gritty getting to know who you are or want to be. Have you tried dopamine decor? Based on what you read about them?

1) Harriet Hook was barely mentioned at all in the books from what I remember, but I do like all the fanon about her being one of the oldest VKs & sort of a universal mom-friend on the Isle. I also love the HC that she’s taller than Harry & I like to picture her ragging him about it a little lol. I see her as being a tough sort of figure that demands respect but does genuinely look out for especially the younger kids on the Isle & is thus widely known & loved by VKs; she may have only played a small role in most of their lives but it was a good one. She can & will take on physical challenges on the behalf of others, altho most would step down if this happens. She’d never admit out loud how much she cares about people. She’ll tease her siblings & basically lives on her ship as soon as she’s old enough, but she is always there for them when they need her & anyone who talks shit about them where she can hear about it isn’t walking away without a bruise (or a talking to, when they’re too young to fight). However, she also knows enough to know when to let people handle their own battles, her siblings included. She knows how things work on the Isle all too well.

2. I know absolutely nothing about Li’l, if he was mentioned in canon I don’t remember where. I’ve seen some posts by @lilikohirukoma talk about him & I’m gonna default to those bc tbh for a while I thought he was somebody’s OC. I picture him being a lot younger than Lonnie, in the age where he still thinks his older sister is super cool (inevitably he will go thru the phase of thinking she’s too lame to be associated with before realizing she’s actually cool when they’re both older) & idk if that’s accurate to either canon or common fanon

3. Claudine Frollo shouldn’t exist I feel so bad for her. Who gave the disney villain who comes closest to being a s*x offender a daughter. Oh no. I really really hope she’s okay & Frollo just is strict with her upbringing in terms of moral righteousness & he never did anything worse to her than he already did to Quasimodo. If I’m being generous I can imagine Disney Frollo having some of the good characteristics of Victor Hugo’s Frollo & thus the potential to be a good parent but Disney Frollo is genuinely so much worse & less complex than OG Novel Frollo. All of the bad things without the compassion to have adopted Quasimodo willingly. Anyway this ended up being not as much about Claudine but basically if Frollo was a not-as-bad-as-he-could’ve-been parent I can see Claudine being quiet & largely isolated but kind of haughty & internally judgmental of her peers with a sense of moral superiority, and if Frollo was Irredeemably Bad I still seeing her being quiet & externally the same but coming more from a place of protecting herself, esp if she grew up being indoctrinated not to trust anyone but Frollo. Bc that’s exactly how he raised Quasi. Quasi did turn out well after all, so I have hope that she could have an abundant inner world and a lot to offer anyone who can get thru her shell & connect with her.

I don’t remember Claudine appearing much in canon but I had a very strong HOND phase so a lot of this is mostly based on that

4) Anthony Tremaine seems like a fun character from what I remember—cocky enough to ask Mal for a dance when everyone else in their class is afraid of her. I think he knows what he’s good at and knew in that moment he caught her off balance, but would also know enough to stay out of her way in a different situation. Raised by a family with a strong sense of Manners in the traditional sense, he’s good at subterfuge but bad in a physical fight. He would do well in a royal court. I imagine he’s a bit vain & prefers standing back & listening to all the gossip at school to participating in the gang fights. He probably thinks highly of himself for acquiring the “real power” of knowing things about people to use for blackmail but if someone threatened him with physical violence & he couldn’t talk his way out of it he’d go down immediately

I really shouldn't be so afraid to post this, but this one post has bothered me enough to the point where I just had to rant about it. I won't be surprised if this post results in a lot of followers dumping my ass. There's another controversial rant post I'm gonna make soon, so I guess this is a good enough warm-up.

It does take a lot of mental gymnastics to make "Rules for thee, not for me" sound justifiable.

Two wrongs don't make a right.

Also, I don't think that equity is working out very well right now with the race-bent Snow White.

Side-note: Snow White's fucking name comes from the in-story explanation: "skin as white as snow". But that's not something we should respect right!

Just imagine the number of hopeful girls who would've been honored to have been chosen for the role of Disney's first-ever princess and would have shown so much more respect for the role and the story than this. I'd hope the social brownie points were worth it, but most people are actually seeing this lady for what she truly is.

Hell, the bigger problem nowadays is how most Disney Princesses are being given the same feminist story beats, being strong independent women who don't need no man and are also total girl bosses. Sure, just gut out the story in the name of "progression". And slowly make the Disney Princesses a "progressive" hive mind.

Also, there's the whole Nani controversy that really shows how skewed the priorities are of everyone who advocates for blackwashing established white characters.

Nani being dark-skinned isn't crucial to the story, though. Her actress is still a native Hawaiian, which is objectively the more important representative aspect of casting in a movie set in Hawaii with Hawaiian culture being heavily featured.

Look, personally I'd advocate for casting people who actually look like the characters they're portraying if these live-action remakes must be a thing.

But clearly the Hollywood execs don't agree. So this casting doesn't bother me. If anything, I find it hilarious - especially after seeing everyone throw a hissy fit over this. It showcases their hypocrisy, as these are the same people who were all "CHANGING ARIEL'S SKIN COLOR DOESN'T MATTER YOU BIGOTS". On top of that, these people are actually wishing harm on this actress, solely over her skin color.

Let me guess, though. It isn't really racism if colored people oppress and threaten and harm white people, right? By this logic, it's just a matter of ~equity~ that fair-skinned folk are subjected to the same prejudice. For fuck's sake.

Nah, let's just normalize the concept that no one can relate to a character unless said character looks just like them. Let's encourage kids to embrace narcissism and refuse to find commonalities in characters that don't physically resemble them in any way.

Because apparently it doesn't matter that I can't see myself and my mother in Tiana, even though her driven, workaholic underdog story resonates with us. But because we're not black, we're not allowed to feel a kinship. It's inconceivable for a little girl to feel that she, for what she is on the inside, can relate to a Disney Princess that she shares no physical traits with.

Maybe I'm just crazy for believing we should focus more on who we are than what we are. Maybe I'm a monster for discouraging indulgence in narcissistic behavior. Am I a bigot for rolling my eyes every time I hear a cry for "MUH REPRESENTATION"?

I like to think I'm not. But society is so heavily fucked in so many ways these days. So much that I'm actually afraid to post this publicly.

But I shouldn't be afraid to speak my mind when I see bullshit being glorified. So I'm gonna give my piece, come what may.

dad julian hcs? :)

Sorry I haven't been answering requests as much lately, work has been hell. Even so, I wanted to answer this one because I think about dad!julian a lot.

I think that Julian isn't as hard of a dad as he pretends to be. I think he's a big softie. I think if he had the money, he would buy things for his child. I don't think he'd buy everything the kid wanted, because Julian is always in the business of saving money, but I think he'd spoil his child a bit - boy or girl.

I think, though, that Julian treats boys differently than girls. I think that's just in his nature. I think he'd be very overprotective of a girl, because he knows how terrible boys can be (he was one of those terrible boys) but I also think he'd be equally as stern with a boy. Either way, he doesn't want his kid going down the same path he did.

Julian stresses the importance of school all of the time. He wants his kids to go to college and even has a savings jar for them. I think that he'd actually kind of be a hard-ass and push his kid towards a more lucrative career, something like a doctor or lawyer. If his kid wanted to do something less lucrative, like art, it'd be a really big fight. I think Julian is the kind of person to be like "either you're going to go to a career that can make you money or you're going to make your own career." I think it'd cause a big fight between you and Julian honestly, but eventually you'd probably convince him to just support the kid no matter what they wanted to do. "If they're going to be an artist, at least let them be an artist without crazy debt." Despite how ardently against art he is, if he had a child that was an artist he'd keep every painting and show up to every art showing.

Julian is the kind of dad to show up to every event. He strikes me as the guy who just didn't have parents who were present in his life.

Julian would definitely give their kid a bit of daddy issues, I'm sorry. A man like that doesn't just change overnight. I think he's quick to punish and ground his kid, specifically for misbehaving in school. He just desperately wants his kids to be successful.

Julian is a very affectionate father, I feel. He likes to hug and kiss his kids and isn't afraid to express fatherly affection. Throughout the series, Julian has always openly held his partner's hand, hugged them, or kissed them in front of others. I think that dad!Julian would be disgusting affection with you to the point where his kids would be like 'ew, gross'.

It doesn't matter what school event there is, Julian is always there. He's literally at every single: holiday party, open house, meet the teacher, choir concert, art showing, sports event - you name it, he's there.

He's the kind of guy to like to take his kids on trips. I actually like the idea that Julian is finally able to take that cruise with everyone like he intended before he landed in jail. I think going on a cruise with his kids, partner, and chosen family is actually a really big deal for him. It's a big fucking mess and everyone traumatizes the cruise ship but it's fun.

Dad!Julian taking his family to Disney Land. I just imagine this big fucking muscly guy in fucking Mickey Mouse ears because his kids wanted him to wear it. Excellent.

On a more emotional note, I think the only way Julian would stop drinking would be if he became a dad. I think his kid would ask him about the glass he always carries around and that simple question would rock him so much he'd work on putting it down. It'd be a long time before he finally kicks it (alcoholism is a bitch), but he'd do it for his kids. (Edit: someone wonderful in the comments mentioned julian would carry around a cup of coke instead and I love it so much, I’m going to add that thought up here to read)

Christmastime is a fucking nightmare, but I think he'd go from hating Christmas (I feel like Julian has Christmas trauma) to enjoying to take his family to see all of the Christmas lights and shit. Everyone goes to Julian's for Christmas and he's kind of sick of it, but also secretly loves it.

He'd definitely chew out his kid for getting caught smoking pot and doing drugs. He won't tolerate it.

Please Go Watch “Puss In Boots: The Last Wish”!

Please forgive this adrenaline fueled post; I need to let it all out after what I just witnessed.

I just came back from watching “Puss In Boots: The Last Wish” with my brother in the theater. The reviewers weren’t wrong; this movie was freaking amazing! 

I was already drawn to it because of the animation, but seriously... everything about this movie was pure gold. The characters, the story, the twists... I loved everything! I could gush about how beautiful this movie is forever and how clever they were when playing around with the framerate for the action bits, because seriously; they did an incredible job. Puss’s new design is adorable and I just love how everyone was designed:

But what really got me, besides the animation and story, were the characters. I loved them! The movie team did an amazing job making me care about them, especially the new characters that I thought I was going to hate, especially the dog. I love him and want to protect him, the poor thing!

They were all great and I loved the found family trope they established. The emotional bonds they share feels so real and good, so when the emotional scenes happen, they are impactful!

And the villains/antagonists... my goodness... They were also amazing and were actually intimidating! I was scared and thrilled whenever they appeared. They were some of the best villains/antagonists characters I’ve seen in any movie for the longest time! Heck, they are far better than most villain characters I’ve seen from other popular properties. 

Especially the Wolf, I freaking loved him! Everything about this character was great, from his design, voice, and overall presence. And I’m not afraid to admit that I think he’s horrifying and attractive:

In relations to the villains, this movie has some really intense scenes, and without spoiling too much... this movie got away with so many things that I haven’t seen even in many action packed movies meant for older audiences, from action to even language. I’m not joking; the stuff they got away with in this movie was jaw dropping in the best way. Me and my brother literally had our jaws drop during some of these scenes. Some scenes were DEFINITELY not for little kids.

This is honestly one of the best animated movies I’ve seen in a long time. No, one of the best MOVIES I’ve seen in a long time. It is so high on my personal favorite movie list now, it’s right next to “Into the Spiderverse,” which one of my favorite movies. Hell, I’m even willing to say I loved this movie even more!

If you love great animation, action, story telling, and characters, please watch this movie when you get the chance! Especially in the theater so you can get the full experience, because that is what this was for me; a true spectacle. I sincerely hope more people see this movie because it’s well deserved. Dreamworks really outdid themselves this past year; first “the Bad Guys,” which was also a fun time, and now this. I also hope this means that we’ll see more movies like this with innovative animation and stellar characterization and storytelling. (TAKE THAT DISNEY!)

This movie seriously exceeded my expectations and I fully intend on buying it soon as it becomes available. If you are at all interested, please give this movie a watch. You won’t regret it. 

I certainly didn’t. It was worth every penny.

2. Who's your fictional boyfriend/husband?

Reiji "The Arsonist" Sakamaki has been my favourite Diaboys since day one and at this point I have no intention on apologizing about it. Followed by Ruki and Ritcher but we're only touching Reiji here—

3. Why do you like them?

Ok the first reason are the daddy issues—

I'M KIDDING I'M KIDDING. Honestly, I loved his design first, and fell for the rest second.

I knew since I was a kiddo that I was a SUCKER for evil dudes in purple/"Disney villain" colours, a simp for deep voices, AND a SUCKER for people in glasses. So when I heard Reiji's voice and saw him my world turned into whatever tf I am now and I have not known peace since then.

Now, let's go more in deep.

I saw Reiji, and I knew he was a gentleman. I knew he was the type that would kiss your knuckles as a "I love you" gesture. I saw him thanks to lots of translations in YouTube and Tumblr just how devoted and in love he is in the MC/Yui. I just loved how he eventually showed himself out of his shell (even if back then I also recognised some damn red flags and I felt conflicted), how bastard he can be, how smart and... Well, all that he is. It's hard for me to put into words how I feel about him as a whole, but I think this will do.

Also HE'S PETTY WHEN HE WANTS TO. I never wanted a man to be that petty until I met him. Love that he uses pans to wake everyone up.

Also HIS LAUGH PEOPLE. I LOVE Both OF HIS LAUGHS THE SEXY ONE AND THE GENUINE ONE.

4. Have you make acquaintance with anyone that ships themselves with the same character?

I don't think these people are truly shipping themselves with him but, again, they're interested so it counts. And there's only three that I'm aware they're Reiji stans so-

I don’t know, honestly. Just like @mino-diabolik said, I suppose it's trying to embellish my writing to make descriptions somewhat prettier and more complex (???) because I don’t like repeating words.

I’ve never had any.

20. Have you receive hates about your oc(s) before?

Just one and for the Kurosawa blog when I first made it public. It was about me having too much OC's and trying to show off. But since I'm a bit coo-coo, my reaction was... The complete opposite of what I expected.

21. Do you have a complete love story of your cp?

YES I HAVE DAMMIT.

Aimic is the only one "complete" and dare I say it's one of my first experiences that I genuinely have fun with since I got here. I would be lying if I say I am not grateful for meeting the Admin and their wonderful OC.

22. Do you allow joint of alternate universe with the canon version of your cp story?

I do!, even if there isn't really a "Canon" ship in here other than casual relationships with the DL boys and other people from other universes (always wanted to see how much would they fit in Twisted Wonderland tho 👀), I usually do enjoy these ships, because these clowns I have to call my children are mine to torture—. Both blogs exists to enjoy both "canon" ships and AU ships!

23. Are you okay with people shipping their oc(s) with yours?

YES YES YES. I AM SO HAPPY WHEN THAT HAPPENS. I LOVE IT. YES.

There’s nothing that brought me more to an excitement rush with me jumping up and down than to people thinking my characters are worthy of being paired up with theirs, but still, I expect someone to ask me if it's ok beforehand bc my dumb ass might get confused in the way unless you're absolutely obvious in the way.

Please if any of yall ever did this on Anon it's ok I really like it when it happens 👀🥺.

24. Ever gone through a bad experience in the fandom?

Thank god I didn't. Just one single anon hate (the one from question 20) and it literally made me so happy bc it meant I'm doing a good job—

When I get notifications in both aspect. Because that's how deep into yall I'm in.

Notifs from popular OC blogs, non OC blogs, new OC blogs, (definitely the porn bots-), I always get so happy! To just know people like my content enough to like, or to go as far as to reblog said content? I ascend.

The hate storms that were literally coming from nowhere (four since I got here), that account that if you reblogged the fanart of any Diaboy told you that they did something awful to Yui and that they hoped the same happened to us (usually r*pe), that one time the Simone blog got hacked/they tried to pass off as them, literally just anons telling other blog Admins to unalive themselves.

At this point I'm not surprised, just disappointed. Also I'm sure most of the time, these people are just hitting puberty, or just "woke" people from twitter.

Hell it's not even scary, just tiring.

Literally all the people I came across with. People here were nothing but all so nice, sweet, and creative; I'm literally so glad I got to know you guys and to have an opportunity to have met some of you, even if we have only talked a little. <3
