being an Underdressed Butch who takes 80 years to get ready is soooo funny bc i get to agonize for an hour about what color of shirt i will wear (black or grey?) and what style (tank top or sleeved?) with what jeans (the jeans or the jeans) and in the end the outfits r all the same

cant tell you how bad it feels to constantly tell other artists to come to tumblr, because its the last good website that isn't fucked up by spoonfeeding algorithms and AI bullshit and isn't based around meaningless likes
just to watch that all fall apart in the last year or so and especially the last two weeks
there's nowhere good to go anymore for artists.
edit - a lot of people are saying the tags are important so actually, you'll look at my tags.
#please dont delete your accounts because of the AI crap. your art deserves more than being lost like that #if you have a good PC please glaze or nightshade it. if you dont or it doesnt work with your style (like mine) please start watermarking #use a plain-ish font. make it your username. if people can't google what your watermark says and find ur account its not a good watermark #it needs to be central in the image - NOT on the canvas edges - and put it in multiple places if you are compelled #please dont stop posting your art because of this shit. we just have to hope regulations will come slamming down on these shitheads#in the next year or two and you want to have accounts to come back to. the world Needs real art #if we all leave that just makes more room for these scam artists to fill in with their soulless recycled garbage #improvise adapt overcome. it sucks but it is what it is for the moment. safeguard yourself as best you can without making #years of art from thousands of artists lost media. the digital world and art is too temporary to hastily click a Delete button out of spite

My grandmother is Japanese and really likes to give gifts. Often those gifts are Japanese desserts or other food, but sometimes she just slips me cash, folded up inside a tiny, beautiful envelope. But she likes to pretend she's not giving me money, so when possible, she'll hide it somewhere that I will find later.
Today I spent the afternoon with her doing chores and tech support, and she clearly felt this warranted a significant gift in return (no matter that I enjoyed myself). But she forgot to slip something into my pocket or bag before I left, so instead she rushed outside as I was starting my car, making the old-school "roll down the window" gesture. Once I complied, she was forced to acknowledge she was handing me money, but she also tried to minimize the gesture.
The result was that she said, "Thank you, dear! I just wanted you to be able to... to buy yourself a hamburger," and then handed me a darling little envelope that turned out to contain $100. And all I could think was:

I've always been curious to know this about the people around me. Most people have been in severe pain, but in my experience few have had what they would say is their 10/10 experience. I guess it's just something I find fascinating, as I had my 10/10 experience quite young and I sometimes forget that not everyone has. In my opinion it changes your relationship with pain and how you engage with it afterwards. If you answered yes, feel free to elaborate on your circumstances in the tags!
(reblog for a bigger sample size etc)

Prompt 109
“What the fuck, what the fuck, what the fuck-” Tim chanted to himself, looking down at his cup of tea in betrayal. Was he hallucinating, had he been drugged with something? He had slept last night!
Yet there in their own Lazarus Pit, the one in the cave not the giant one somewhere under the rest of Gotham, was a literal baby, looking just as surprised as he was. Of course that didn’t last, and its face scrunched up as it started to cry, which was his first hint that no, this was not in fact a hallucination.
There was a pit baby in the Lazarus pool.
. . .
There was a pit baby in the Lazarus pool.
OH FUCK, there was a pit baby in the freaking Lazarus pool-

really wanted to capture this shot with chilchuck. obviously the mimic episode has a lot of really fun and impressive animation, but i was particularly charmed by this bit. there's something really satisfying and cute about the way he turns around and the counting gesture he does with his hand.

Continuing the Eddie Munson TikTok Saga:
Someone asked Eddie what the most metal thing he’s ever seen was and he said it was when Steve bit the head off a bat, Ozzy Osborne-style. And Eddie, who shares way too much, is like, “If we weren’t about to die, I would’ve taken that man and been his bi-awakening so much sooner.”
In the background, you can hear Steve snort and say, “You were not my bi awakening, babe.”
Followed by the loudest “WHAT!” you’ve ever heard and Steve says his bi awakening was a guy at the mall. Eddie is just, “THE RUSSIANS?!” Then the video cuts off.
There’s a follow up video where Eddie says he’s getting a divorce because his husband has been lying to him for 1986. You can hear Steve in the background laughing his ass off, saying, “You told me I was your gay awakening, Eds, what was I supposed to say!”
“The truth, Steven!”
Steve’s still laughing but you can hear him get up and then he comes into frame to kiss Eddie on the cheek, “You were my bi acceptance, rockstar.”
