This is the devastating reality in gaza.
Even if children don't lose their lives during the bombing, they lose their limbs, their loved ones. You know how many kids who lost their legs loved playing football? How many loved to run and walk and ride a bike? How many lost their arms who can no longer feel it, no longer wear a bracelet around their wrist? There are kids who lost their eyesight due to the bombing And getting crushed under the rubble. Keep demanding a ceasefire, this should not still be happening. 44th day.

After the hospital bombing, I finally heard back from my grandmother and confirmed that several of my relatives were murdered by Israeli bombing. Seven of them, to be precise. Three are still going, including her. We've been talking constantly ever since.
Asked if it was possible to head south, and was told they did but were also bombed there. So they decided to go back home, in Zeitoun. Their home was bombed and they were pulled out of the rumble, then driven by ambulances to the al-Ahli Arab Hospital. There were people in every corner. Gazans sheltering, sleeping on the floor. Gazans dying on the floor, waiting for beds.
Four were declared dead on arrival, three were in need of surgery and other three were just bandaged. Then, a bomb was dropped in the parking lot that made parts of the ceiling collapse, like Dr. Ghassan Abu Sittah reported in that horrific conference/interview. Those in need of surgery died.
By the way, just in case you didn't know: the Church of Saint Porphyrius, the third oldest in history, bombed by Israel a few days back, was located near the hospital.
When looking for new shelter, they saw schools with signs hanging outside, "We can't take any more families." They met families, sympathetic but already sheltering too many people. They're now staying in an apartment building they found empty. Sleeping in the corner of the living room. If the family comes back, they'll apologize and leave.
Told me she was saving her phone battery for when the bombing stopped, and she had to ask for help to rebuilt the neighborhood. But she doesn't think it's gonna stop anymore. The ones still with her are mute most of the time, like they're saving energy, but she feels lonely and wanted to talk. There's no internet and to connect to WhatsApp, people are buying "a card from the supermarket, there's a password and username." Not sure what she meant. Still, the internet is inconsistent and won't load neither videos or images nor pages, so she doesn't know what's happening on the outside world.
Told her there were a lot of people protesting to stop the genocide, she replied, "The bombings are getting worse by the day." The bombing yesterday was the worst she ever witnessed. The entire neighborhood is infested with the smell of death, of decomposing bodies. Bodies are piling up in the streets and she's not sure if it's because they ran out of places to store them, but most of them are in bags. The smoke of the bombings hide the blue sky—she hasn't seen the clouds for a while.
Asked if I could share their pictures, names and dreams with people and was told, of which I partly agree, "they're not entertainment." If anyone genuinely cared, they would be alive—I'd argue there are people who do care, but I'm not gonna lecture her pain. And they don't deserve to be used to fulfill someone's sick fantasy. Told me to remember what some Israelis do with pictures of dead Palestinians. And I do.
For those of you who are not familiar, many times before settlers got together to celebrate the murder of Palestinians. For one, in 2015, Israeli settlers set a house in Duma, West Bank on fire. An 18-month old baby, Ali Dawbsheh, was burnt alive. Both parents later died of wounds and only a 5-year-old, Ahmad, survived, although severely injured.
Two celebrations of their murder are widely known, one at a wedding and others outside the court in which two were indicted for the terrorist attack. In the wedding, guests stabbed a photo of the toddler, Ali, while others waved guns, knives and Molotov cocktails. Israel's Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, was present.
That's what happens in an apartheid. Palestinians are so abused by authorities that their "innocent civilians" come to accept the brutality as necessary or are desensitized by our suffering. After all, it's been 75 years—get used to it!
So I won't risk the image of my loved ones, in fear they are used in these kinds of depravity. I will say, though, the world lost a young footballer. Lost a female writer and an aspiring ballerina. Lost a kind father, who was also a great cook, and a loving mother that enjoyed sewing and other types of handicraft art. Lost a math teacher and a child that wanted to become one.
Tumblr media
People think Israel is testing new weapons on them. There's civilians arriving at the hospital with severe burns, which they thought was from white phosphorus, but apparently the pattern is different from the one caused by white phosphorus. It's widely believed Israel tests weapons in Palestinians.
Jeff Halper, author of War Against the People, a book on Israel's arms and surveillance technology industries, said: "Israel has kept the occupation because it's a laboratory for weapons."
They've ran out of drinkable water and the "aid" Biden sent was only for the South of Gaza and no fuel, for hospitals, was allowed in. Many shelves in the supermarket are empty. She said many are convinced that if they don't die from the bombing, they'll die from starvation or dehydration, or whatever disease will develop from the dirty water they're drinking.
Told me all people do now is pray, cry and die. Told me she hopes West Bank is spared. Told her Israel bombed a mosque in West Bank and dozens of Palestinians in West Bank are being murdered by settlers, so she bided me goodbye.

- ED trigger warning -
Being skinny ruined my life. If you’re thin and think to yourself, “why don’t fat people just lose weight?” Please read this
I was the “ideal fat” in the sense that I did everything skinny people wanted me to do. I tried every diet in the book. I exercised regularly. I worked with doctors and dietitians to figure out the best way to lose weight. But nothing worked. I did everything “right” to lose weight, and my weight stayed the same
But the thin people in my life kept telling me that I wouldn’t be happy, attractive, healthy, etc. until I lost weight. So, heartbroken, I came to the conclusion that anorexia was the only option left. It felt safer than bariatric surgery, and was obviously much more affordable
I became the perfect anorexic. 700 cal a day or less, except once a week I allowed myself 1400 cal. For reference, my body required at least 2800 to maintain weight, and at least 1800 to keep my organs and stuff fully functioning. Still, 700 a day, I persisted because everyone in my life told me weight loss was all that mattered. If dieting didn’t work, anorexia had to
And it did. My weight dropped all the way down to 110 pounds. I was skinny - underweight, even - in all sense of the word. The people in my life saw it as a miracle. The ultimate success story. My mother, my “friends,” my doctors, they all congratulated me on my accomplishment
When I confessed my eating disorder to my doctor, he told me, “that’s not the best way to go about it, but I’m glad you lost the weight.” My mother took pictures of me and sent them to relatives to brag
Okay, great. I was skinny. I did what I set out to do. But there were severe consequences
The most obvious was my joint pain doubled, maybe even tripled, to the point that I couldn’t leave the house without a wheelchair
I also developed several health complications, including fatty liver disease and extremely painful GERD. I had to see a handful of specialists and get an endoscopy because of severe stomach pain
My partner, who was the only person who saw my weight loss for what it was (a horrible thing that only happened because of an eating disorder), convinced me to enter a recovery program
For nearly a year, I relearned how to feed myself. I ate everything I was told to eat, nothing more and nothing less. My diet was 100% in the hands of somebody else
And I gained back every pound I has lost. All of the work to become thin went right out the window. It was proven to me that thinness and health were incompatible with my body. If I wanted to be thin, I had to forgo my physical and mental well-being. And vise-versa
Prior to the anorexia, I never once struggled with binge eating. I was naturally an intuitive eater, and I did a good job of having a well rounded diet. After the anorexia, after recovery, I developed a binge eating disorder. I had spent so long starving myself, that my brain and body got stuck in survival mode, desperate to consume any and all calories out of fear that I might starve again. To this day I struggle with binge eating
I did everything thin people wanted of me. I dieted. I exercised. And when all else failed, I starved myself. Now I have liver disease, stomach issues, and BED. Not to mention the loads of mental issues that accumulated as a result of my weight loss journey. During the throes of my anorexia, I had to be hospitalized for suicidal ideation
When you tell fat people to “just lose weight” you are suggesting they give themselves illnesses for which treatments are not always effective. You are asking fat people to destroy their stomachs and livers. When a fat person loses so much weight that they become skinny, they are likely giving up so much of their health in efforts to be treated like a human being
If you’re thin, do your part. Treat fat people like people before we tear our bodies apart

After the Nasty Burger exploded and the matter of Danny's legal guardian was brought up the social worker suggested letting Danny choose from a few possible guardians with the chance to switch out of he doesn't like it. And after some back and forth on the matter the social worker states that Danny made it clear that he will run away if they try to make him stay with his godfather, Vlad Masters.
So they pulled out possible suggestions.
Maddie's sister, Alicia, was brought up first. She had no criminal record but her home was far away from civilization, schools, hospitals and even small clothes' and food shops. She was put in the 'only if absolutely necessary or strongly requested' category.
Then they looked at Jack's family.
His parents were dead and he had one sibling. Lex Luthor (who clearly changed his name due to an argument with his parents before they died (he also surprisingly enough voted against the Anti-Ecto Acts when they were proposed during his short bout as a high ranking politician, arguing that they should be instead votes into being a part of the metahuman umbrella as they live in a different dimension and can count as a separate species.)) who they tentatively added to the 'suggest' list as he can provide access to good education, good health care, good food and clothes and other after they checked in with him to see is fine with housing his nephew.
Jack also had a cousin, John Constantine. Unfortunately they couldn't get in contact with him to even consider him as a part of the 'back up' list.
There were also the reputable foster families with Bruce Wayne on top of the list as he has fostered a child successfully for several years now and has also had some other children fostered for a week to make sure their homes (be they current or future ones) were safe when needed.
"I am surprised that Mr. Fenton didn't say anything about Lex Luthor when asked about other people he didn't want to put with." Said the social worker's partner in crime.
"Me too. I suspect that they actually have a relatively good relationship." Noted Danny's social worker absentmindedly.
"Lex Luthor actually having a good relationship with anyone marks either the end of global warming and hunger or the beginning of the apocalypse." Half-joked the partner in crime.
That got a laugh from the social worker before she sighed. It was rare but not unheard of children saying that they don't want their godparents to have guardianship over them. She learned early on in her carrier that it is best to listen when they make that clear. Sometimes children see or hear thing which leaves them disliking some people for good reasons. Reasons which they are most of the time unlikely to share even when interrogated unless Batman gets involved. Even then it can be hard to convince them to share they have seen or heard to make them dislike someone to the point of running away.
She has also learned that children are far better at hiding from the legal system than adults. Once they become street kids they join baby gangs and then they quickly learn how hide, run and fight dirty. Very rarely do the police actually manage to get those runaway kids back in the foster system.

Pairing II Cowboy! Carlos x Fem! Reader
SFW II Angst, Fluff, City themed reader,
WC II 799
Content II x reader, country motif, ranch, farmland
Synopsis II Living with your relatives in the country wasn’t going to be easy. Your nearest neighbor was a rancher a few miles down and better yet, her cows constantly got loose on your property. Maybe the only plus side was the young ranch hand who came to retrieve them.
Tumblr media
Ever since you could remember, you lived in the city. At least around it. Surrounded by fast food and phone service centers, you found yourself living life from strip to curb.
Being a freshman in collage on summer break, you found yourself back at home. This year, many of your friends had moved on to forming or apartments. The ones who stayed at home found themselves tied up visiting relatives or clubbing with new found freedom. You weren’t completely left out, however. No, your parents had arranged a surprise for you.
Two months in the backwoods of Montana. After all, Aunt Clara and uncle Mike had been dying to visit you.
At their 90 acre ranch.
You were comfortable at home. Sure, you he nothing against the country. But you did have something against getting up at the ass-crack of dawn to feed chickens led by the rooster of your nightmares.
No, you liked the country. It was just….mucky. You’ve been to the ranch before when you were a young kid. You don’t remember much about the ranch, just how some cattle carried you a few miles out. Some boys found you and brought you back.
You do remember stopping in their home, they had to clean you up a bit after the cows dragged you through the mud. You remember the sensations of warm rags against your skin and the voice of a woman gently scolding you for running back with the cows.
These memories are soon brushed away. Swept out of your mind by the facts of packing up your clothes and leaving your home. You weren’t upset to leave your parents, you needed a new view. But, you weren’t sure if a trip back to the country was the change you needed.
As you found yourself packing your bags, you wondered if those neighbors still lived there. You didn’t remeber much. However, you wondered if all seven of the brothers still lived there. You used to talk to a few of them as a young child. You don’t remember their names much, maybe…was it, Carson? No. You chose not to think much about it.
You were to be taken to the airport. Your relatives would be waiting for you at Harlowton Airport. From there it was a direct trip to Wheatland County. That was another thing you didn’t care for in the country. The county names…Wheatland…Carbon?
Your parents drove you in. The whole time giving you warnings on what to do, who to avoid, who to trust. You were in collage, but they still treated you this way. They probably always would.
When you touched down, you quickly managed to find your folks. They were still very sweet, asking questions about your major and your parents. You forgot how nice their hospitality was.
Their home was a county away and on these country roads, the drive seemed to go on forever.
The house was still how you remember. A long one-story farmhouse, grey with use. Smoke still billing from its long chimney. House tended by a few ranch hands.
The land was still impeccable. Long open territory with Morgan horses heavy with years of hard labor and tough skin.
Your family only kept horses, goats, and chickens. But my, was there hundreds to watch over. You had your work cut out for you upon arrival. Even out the window of the car door, you could see all of the coops and barns which lined the acres.
Your relative’s home reminded you of a certain pre-cut ranch house you knew from some old story when you were younger.
They had a spare room kept for you. Mostly plain wooden interior with a few tapestries. A cows hide sprawled across the floor.
It smelled like a ranch. That and the faint scent of supper. Corned beef and mashed potatoes. Your family always ate hearty.
You managed to unpack a few bags of clothes and toiletries before you were called into the kitchen. You helped serve the food along with you uncle. The three of you found yourselves lose in talk. You asked when you could visit the horses, what their names were, and what you would help do.
As your night came to a close. Your family asked you pick a movie. They wanted to see what people in the north enjoyed. It was calming, they gave you tea and a blanket and the three of you relaxed for a while. Waiting for the morning tasks to be at hand.
Your first day there had gone well and when you woke, you could visit the horses and livestock. You were definitely excited to meet the silver turkoman in her stable and the chickens in their coops. Life was gonna be much different for the next couple of months.

Kang’s gradual and complete breakdown
On rewatch, we were given a significant number of clues as to how bad Kang’s mental state is going into his conversation with Grandma Ging:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First, he stops and looks in on his dad. It’s easy to imagine that Kang is remembering how excited he’d been at the newfound hope that they might be able to repair their relationship, but that now seeing him on life support, Kang’s wondering if he’ll ever get to talk to him again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then, Grandma Ging tells us two pieces of what I think are critical information — Kang was supposed to stay in the house but he left in the middle of the night.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The last time this happened, when she was in the hospital and the dad stayed, we know it was only Kang and Sailom in the house. So now, we can infer Kang would have been all alone with all those big, dark, empty rooms. He would have had nothing to think about but his dad is possibly dying and how he pushed Sailom away. He would have been helpless but to remember how Sailom was with him the last time — how back then they were on the cusp of becoming boyfriends.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then, Kang asks this. He outright tells us he couldn’t sleep and he needed comfort.
Tumblr media
We know Kang has trouble sleeping when he’s anxious.
Tumblr media
It’s not hard to imagine that he’s been like this every night since Sailom packed his things.
@criticallyobs speculates in their reaction episode that “hug you to sleep” might have been something Kang did with his mom.
Tumblr media
He’s also asked that of Sailom, on a night before important exams. (I’m not crying at the idea that Sailom has taken on a role Kang’s mom used to play!! My screen just suddenly got blurry!!)
So before she ever brings up Saifah, we know (1) Kang probably hasn’t slept in days, (2) Kang is anxious, (3) Kang has been drowning in worry for his dad and thoughts of Sailom.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Well, then immediately after he came to her for comfort, she asks him about the subject that’s been torturing him. And look at him — he looks sick at the idea.
Tumblr media
He is a relatively simple thinker so he asks this. In his mind, why would Saifah confess if he were innocent? This is a great example of a situation where he would normally lean on Sailom to help tease out a complex topic but can’t anymore.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then, it gets even worse. Because if he didn’t want to talk about Saifah when he walked into the room, do you know who he really didn’t want to talk about? Saifah’s brother.
Grandma Ging is telling him here, Saifah would not have done this because not being in our home badly hurts Sailom. Someone who loves Sailom would not want to see him hurt.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I feel like any time I defend Kang I need to put these screenshots in, because not doing so would seem like trying to hide these words. Which again, are terrible.
But I said before, in ‘In Defense of Kang’ that what Kang is actually doing here is (obnoxiously) trying to justify his own actions to himself. He’s leaning on words he’s probably heard from his dad. He CANNOT have been wrong about Saifah. That is impossible to think about, because then it means that he threw the person he loved into a “difficult situation” for absolutely no reason (leaving aside the fact that he handled the situation badly even if Saifah were guilty). Grandma Ging has just point blank told him, if you love someone you wouldn’t do something like this.
Tumblr media
This is Kang’s face immediately after he gives that little speech. He doesn’t believe his own words. He very clearly feels worse than he did before he walked into the room.
Tumblr media
He already knew on some level that he made a mistake in sending Sailom away the night Sailom first left.
Tumblr media
But this is when the full magnitude of his actions start to hit him.
Tumblr media
Kang had already been grappling with the knowledge that he’d badly wronged Sailom when Sailom called him. He got to experience exactly one second of hope that Sailom wanted to reconcile, only for it to turn into a waking nightmare. This initial anger is his fear and self loathing bursting out.
((I do want to caveat before I continue that I do not believe it is entirely Kang’s fault that Sailom turned to escorting. Sailom turned down a genuine offer of help from his friends.
But Kang’s actions indisputably played a role. And he was forced to see in horrifying detail the consequences of him depriving Sailom of his support.))
Tumblr media
Seeing Sailom scared and groggy and confused, shirt still hanging open from his near assault showed Kang in painful detail exactly how badly he failed to take care of the person he loves. In the face of this, anger so so quickly gives way to overwhelming regret.
Tumblr media
Kang’s breakdown here is the final escalation of how he’s already been feeling since the moment Sailom walked out of his house. The escort scene gave the final blow necessary for Kang to shatter. It ensured Kang will never ever forget the importance of his role as a protector.
However, Kang had already been well on his way here for days.

___
Your eyes are closed and your body trembling, desperately trying to hold your tears.
“Y/N,” The soft and calm woman's voice tells you. “Let’s recall the rectangular breathing. Inhale…” You inhaled through your nose for four seconds and stopped breathing for four seconds as well. “Exhale…” You exhaled slowly and then held your breath again. “Inhale…”
“Fuck it!” you swore and opened your eyes, stretching out your arm to the Parliament pack lying on the kitchen island. You were not happy with this habit but when your life went to shit you didn’t care.
This had been an awful year full of loss which unfortunately led to depression. You visited your psychiatrist regularly and this helped you to overcome a bit. At least you don’t start suddenly crying and coped to move on. Especially when your best friend, like almost your older brother, got to the hospital and there was no good news about his health condition. As an aunt (non-blood relative) of his son, you couldn’t give up just like that. But it seemed if you had a chance, you’d do it.
You lit the cigarette, inhaled, and continued pouring the coffee from Jezve to the small thermos. This was your everyday morning routine. After this ritual, you go to the park and prepare yourself mentally for the new day. Today’s situation was different, you wouldn’t go to the park, but you couldn’t prevent yourself from beginning the day normally at least partially, and for the last time.
The TV was turned on, and the host said with a trembling voice thousands of people got infected with an unknown disease and it led to chaos in several states and yours as well, many people died. Neighbors outside were screaming, children were crying. Everyone was rushing and trying to pack all their lives in their cars. You thanked God your parents weren’t here. Sounds blasphemous, but you couldn’t bear this weight upon your shoulders. When you were imagining the apocalypse while having one of your anxiety attacks, you swore yourself you would end up right at the beginning as this would be not life anymore, but dance with the death you didn’t wish to take part in.
But you are here. Fortunately staying calm (thanks to medication). You already packed your things after your friend (your ex), had called you and asked you to be prepared to move. He told you he’d come to your house and you then follow him in your car. Also, in case he succeeds in grabbing your best friend from the hospital, you can transport him as he was unconscious, and more space was needed for sure.
The man dressed in a sheriff uniform enters your house “Are you kidding? Coffee, really? What about mediation then?” he saw you looking at him with no emotion expressed on your face. He cooled down for a moment. “Have you grabbed the essentials?” you nodded in the direction of the bag laying near the door.
“Is the tank full?”
“As usual,” you mumbled “Shane” you breathed the smoke out of your lungs “Are Lori and Carl with you?”
“Sure, come on. And quit this shit, please.” he pointed at the cigarette and went outside your house.
You closed the thermos, switched off the TV, and went to your garage. In several minutes you were following Shane’s car. Carl turned back to you from Shane’s backseat car window and waved to you. You smiled and waved in response. Thanks God your last lifeline was safe and sound. You switched on the player and drove.
“Time to die
Hammer high
Name your price
And kneel
Hail the apocalypse
All flesh is equal when burnt
We are forgiven
Forgive as we never shall learn
Get down
Hail the apocalypse”
Shane turned to the highway and you nervously turned the steering wheel following him. Your eyes widened in shock. You grabbed the phone and called him.
“What’s the matter?” you screamed.
“My colleagues told me there was a shoout-out near the hospital. Need you all to get to a safer place. We’ll deal with Rick later.” You threw your phone away after the call ended. “Shit”.
The trip was short but unbearably lasting as you were always stuck in traffic jams. You can see the sun already went under. As you saw the road was blocked with cars and people fussing you turned the engine down. Shane got out of his car and went further into the crowd. After five minutes you saw him getting back approaching you.
“We need to stop here, the road is blocked. Let’s have a break and figure out what to do next.” you nodded and got out of your car. Shane went to Lori to tell the same. Carl opened the door and ran to you.
“I’m glad you are with us, Y/N.” said Carl squeezing your waist. You brushed his hair gently with your fingers and smiled in response. “Me too…”
“Carl” Lori called “Could you please come to me for a second?” Carl looked at you, smiled, and ran to his mother while she was looking at you concerned.
You switched your attention from Lori and took the Parliament pack out of your denim jacket, picked a cigarette, and realized you forgot the lighter at home. You started to look around and your sight captured the two men smoking standing near their car in front of yours. You approached them.
“Hey, could I ask for a lighter, please? I forgot mine at home”. The older grinned, sticking the tip of his tongue while observing your hips in black leggings moving his sight up and stopping at your breasts covered with the tank top of the same color as your leggings. He looked up at your eyes and sang “Come on baby, light my fire”. The younger burst out of anger and barked.
“Have ya not slept offa hangover yet, dumbass?”
“Woah, brother,” the older laughed and lowered his voice “Why are ya so tensed?” The younger started nervously biting his lips while the older’s mouth was in front of his ear. “Getting nervous because of the beautiful girl talking to ya?”
“Shut the fuck up!”
You just continued to watch a one-man show.
“Okay, won’t bother ya, my puss,” he laughed and stared at you measuring you up “My brother is such a shy guy. Please keep an eye on him while I go and let off my steam ‘cause of the hotty around” he blinked at you.
The younger looked angrily at his brother going away down to the wooded area near the road.
“What a gentleman…” you concluded.
“I’m sorry,” the younger grunted and looked at you blushing.
“Never mind, at least someone stays positive.” you smiled. The man put his hand in the pocket of his jeans and took out a light passing to you. You lit up your cigarette and inhaled. The lungs burned with pleasure while your head went a bit fainty as you haven’t eaten anything today yet. “Thanks,” you said and then went back to your car. You opened the door and took the thermos with coffee and a small tourist cup. The man was standing quietly and glared at you as if his gaze was an X-Ray that could reveal anything suspicious about you.
“Hey,” you looked at the man while pouring the coffee into the cup “What’s your name?”
“Daryl” he didn’t stop gazing with his cold blue eyes.
“Y/N. Wanna some coffee?”
“No, thanks,” he mumbled.
“Come on,” you approached him “The night will be long, you need to stay on your legs.”
He looked at you thinking the hell this bothers you. You read his thought as his expression was asking and added “Let’s consider this as the gesture of thanks as you saved my life from the lack of nicotine.” You chuckled.
“Thanks” he replied silently not stopping investigating you.
“Bring it back to me when you finish” You pointed at the cup and turned to go away to Shane as he had called you.
The man stayed confused holding the cup and looking at you while you went away.
“What a sweetie, huh? I’d spent some time with her on the backseat” Merle let Daryl know about his presence.
“Fuck off!”
Merle laughed and sang gazing at you talking to your friends “You know that it would be untrue. You know that I would be a liar…”

I’ve literally never met another person who ships First Hero with an OC. I MUST know everything about her now 👁️👁️
Tumblr media
Oh goodness, where to start! Firstly, thank you so much for your interest in her! We love Stella a lot and she's super fun to write when we get to do so, so it'd be my pleasure to talk about her! Iirc we touched on her a bit in the more recent Stolen Altars chapters, discussing her with another character we havent seen in a while. That conversation gave us a bit of a peek into what Stella was like in her home era, and her family.
To start, Stella was never a meek woman, and she's always been incredibly stubborn. Fueled by spite, that one, and so willful, she's about as ornery as an old mule. That comes shining through in a lot of ways, in a lot of her relationships. With her grandfather, who was her legal guardian after her parents died, that manifested as frequent arguments and a lot of her storming out of the house, long hair trailing behind her like a tropic storm tail.
With her coworker, it often showed up as flippant disregard. She was going to do what she wanted, and normally there wasn't anyone willing or able to stop her. Working at the time bureau as she was, she did get the opportunity to pursue a medical track, which seemed to be the one thing she and her grandfather agreed upon, and she was good at it, as well as a quick study.
However, her stubborn streak bit her when her recklessness got her coworker put into the hospital, and she mellowed quite a bit after that. She began investing more time and care into that relationship especially, becoming, in that coworkers own words, like a second mother. Around this time, she cut her hair, and also acquired the scar on her nose. The new, good relationships with her peers didn't ease tensions with her grandfather though, and if anything, made them worse, and she continued to be directly oppositional to him until and after she met Matdas.
A note: her attitude was still shit when she met him and her bedside manner was still even worse.
Following that, some few years later and after figuring out her living situation with Matdas, there was an event, which forced her to take her small child and run, slipping through time to safety but leaving Matdas behind in the process.
From here, she remarried out of necessity to provide for the baby, her step-spouse passing of illness when the kid was old enough to understand what was going on, somewhere preteen ish? (I'd have to go back and look, forgive me ^^; ) and from then until just before the end of her life, things were relatively peaceful.
Stella was adept with magic, as it'd been a skill that was incredibly useful with her medical work, and did her best to try and pass that on, but…. She realized fairly quickly that it would be better for everyone if she simply wrote down all of her spells for her kid, because spellcasting was not a hereditary skill. She was a good mom, and by then she'd mostly figured out the patience thing, doing her best to show her child that they were loved no matter what. Stella was a comforting constant in a world where people often had a tendency toward cruelty.
She then fell ill, her child a teen, and didn't recover. The loss is still v e r y acutely felt.
That said... We're not exactly done with her or this story yet! Stay tuned! :3c

Pushing Towards You
Chapter 18: Increasing The Family
A/N: Merry Christmas, everyone!
Warnings: Hormone Therapy; Pregnancy; Egg retrieval procedure.
Tumblr media
It had already been a few days since the weekend that Calista and Larissa spent together. In the meantime, an extra key to the apartment and space in the two wardrobes were provided. Calista expected Larissa only to visit her sometimes because she knew working late was the principal's favorite sport. But, she was surprised to realize that Larissa now spent more nights with her than in her room at the Academy.
For Calista, having company at home was not something new. First, it was Gaia with whom she shared the house when they started a relationship, and then they married. Then came Artemis and her lively and expansive manner. Even after the divorce, she was not alone. Her daughter spent many days of the week with her, and Gaia also appeared frequently.
So those months in Jericho were the first in the twenty-two years she had spent alone. Calista handled this loneliness well, but she didn't like it. She was used to sharing space with someone else. Talk, watch television, eat meals, or just be silent, but always be accompanied. Divorced from Gaia and with Artemis spending more time in Nevermore, Calista spent her afternoons alone after work.
When she and Larissa started dating, Calista realized that she would still spend many afternoons alone before Larissa could take a break from work. Calista knew the principal well enough to see the dedication with which she worked. Having been married and started a family, Calista knew that this dynamic was challenging, and as much as she wanted to, she never asked Larissa to meet her outside of the scheduled day. Eventually, she got used to it.
However, after meeting with Dr. Maina, Larissa seemed to change her stance. She moved closer to Calista. Then, she received the key to the apartment. It became a routine for Larissa to arrive early in the evening with dinner or in time to cook dinner. Automatically, a dynamic was established. Larissa cooked, and Calista washed the dishes.
Most nights, Larissa needed to work, which was inevitable, but she would settle on the couch with her laptop, and Calista would lie down next to her to watch television or read a book. When work went on longer than expected, Calista would nap on the sofa, and Larissa would take her to bed before returning to work.
On the Friday nights that Larissa couldn't sleep with Calista in the apartment, she would bring Artemis with her on Saturday after breakfast. The girl was now ultimately used to Larissa and even suggested to her mother that she transform her room in the apartment into an office so the principal could work. But Calista was still resistant to removing Artemis's space, and Larissa agreed; she said she could perfectly work on the couch.
The weeks quickly passed, and winter break approached in Nevermore. Calista expected to have Artemis and Larissa at home simultaneously, as school activities would be interrupted. Although the two were getting along well, it would be the first time they would spend time together as a family. Gaia had decided to stay in Nevermore, as her family didn’t celebrate Christmas and New Year since her father's death. That way, just like Thanksgiving, the four of them would spend Christmas together.
A week before Christmas, Calista received a visit from Dr. Maina in the hospital pharmacy where they worked. He would like to schedule the collection of biological material for the end of that week, and to do so, it was necessary to induce Calista's ovulation. The doctor wanted to take advantage of the break to take the samples to his laboratory in his homeland, so he would like the collection to be carried out as close to the holiday as possible.
The procedure would be relatively simple. Six days after induction, the doctor would collect the eggs using an ultrasound. However, Calista would need to be anesthetized and rest for twelve days. Dr. Sharma was aware of the events and promptly permitted Calista to leave for as long as necessary.
Larissa and Artemis's procedure would be even more straightforward as a collection of buccal swabs and blood samples. For both, it was enough to compare the genetic material between them. For Calista, it was necessary to verify that her eggs were indeed chimeras and contained Larissa's DNA.
As time was short, Dr. Maina wanted to perform the hormonal injection that same day in Calista so that the eggs would be available by the end of the week. He warned her of the likely adverse effects that appeared in the days after the injection, such as mood changes, sensitivity, and fatigue. For Calista, it wasn't very different from what she felt during Artemis's pregnancy; anyway, she told Larissa that the next few days could be more difficult when she got home.
----------
No sooner said than done. Calista's mood changed drastically in the days following hormone therapy. It was the first whole week that Larissa slept in the apartment. She didn't want to stay at Nevermore lest it seemed like she was running away from the bad times, so Larissa took advantage of it being the last week before winter break and finished work at the office early so she could be home to cook dinner.
She didn't regret the decision but was torn between comical and exasperation now that Calista was complaining about things she usually wouldn't do. No complaints were directed at Larissa, but she avoided giving Calista a reason to change her mood. Larissa almost managed to keep the peace between them until the night before the collection; anxiety and hormones won.
As always, Larissa sat on the sofa after dinner, with her laptop on her lap to finish some matters before the break. Calista lay down beside her, placed a pillow on Larissa's outer thigh, and lay down. Nothing different that could be a cause for warning. Out of nowhere, Calista got angry and sat down, looking at Larissa.
"You didn't pay attention to anything I said, did you?" She glared at Larissa.
Fact: Larissa was responding to an email and had not heard what was said. She would regularly apologize and give all the attention to a Calista who would patiently repeat herself. But that night, Larissa didn't have time to speak when Calista stood up, stomping her feet towards the bedroom.
"Just because I'm angry, you ignore me? Wait and see when I'm pregnant; you'll get tired of me." Calista passed through the hallway and entered the room.
It was the first time she mentioned a possible pregnancy. And Larissa was taken by surprise. Still, she wanted to take advantage of the cue. "I don't get tired easily, darling. You will be the most beautiful and spoiled pregnant woman in the world!" She shouted so Calista could hear from the bedroom.
"That's the spirit." Was the answer she heard. Seconds later, Calista reappeared. "And another thing, I won't be a single mother. I want marriage! The whole package! Again!" She had one hand on her hip, and one finger pointed at Larissa.
Larissa was startled when she heard the word marriage. Her eyes moved from the laptop screen to the face of an angry Calista; she nodded and said, "I took note of that, my love. The whole package."
Calista huffed a "very good" before returning to the bedroom, leaving a helpless Larissa sitting in the living room.
Larissa now had a furious partner, an unmade marriage proposal, the possibility of a child on her hands, and no idea what led to the whole argument. She decided to end the night early and went to bed. She knew Calista hadn't slept that quickly, but she was silent and sneakily got under the covers. Without saying anything, Calista adjusted her body so that Larissa could spoon her. With a giggle, Larissa wrapped her arms around Calista and kissed her shoulder. Before falling asleep, she made a mental note to look for wedding rings.
----------
Calista woke up with regret the next day. The guilt was not for what she said but for how she said it. She had been considering having children with Larissa since the weekend the two spent with Artemis in Nevermore. And marriage was the natural order of things as their relationship progressed and became more solid.
But Calista's intention was not to scream that in the middle of the night, driven by the flood of hormones washing over her body. She intended to talk to Larissa, perhaps between Christmas and New Year or, who knows, after the test results were released. However, it was already too late. She had already opened her heart in an explosive and unplanned way.
She was awake, making breakfast, when Larissa carefully exited the shower and went to the kitchen, sitting on the counter stool. Calista had heard all the movement and wasn't scared when a "good morning" broke the silence. She turned around and was met with Larissa's light but restrained smile. A whisper of good morning escaped her.
"Are you feeling better?" Larissa took a risk.
Calista sighed, walked around the counter, placed herself between Larissa's legs, and wrapped her arms around the other’s neck.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to yell at you last night. Out of nowhere, anger rose, and I exploded at you." Calista explained herself, looking Larissa in the eyes.
"It's okay, sweetheart." Larissa smoothed Calista's hair, afraid that everything said had been lip service. "Let's just forget about it and move on. Soon, the effect of the hormone will wear off."
"No. I don't want you to forget what I said. I want you to forget how I said it. It wasn't how I planned to tell you I'm considering marriage and possibly having a baby." Calista was smiling widely now, her initial embarrassment having passed.
Larissa hugged Calista's waist and brought her close to her body, kissing her all over her face while murmuring, "Thank you." Leaning her forehead against Calista's, Larissa whispered, "You can't imagine how happy I am, Lis. I love you so much."
Calista cupped Larissa's face with both hands and kissed her. "I love you too, Riss." She whispered back with a smile. "Besides, you were pretty brave this week, staying with me. I would have stayed at Nevermore if I were you." Calista returned to the kitchen to serve breakfast.
"Wow, I didn't know that was an option!" Larissa was in disbelief. "I figured you'd consider me a runaway for staying away when you needed it most." She confessed.
Calista laughed. “You did well. The way I was last night, I would have called and yelled at you anyway."
"The yelling was worth it. At least now I know you want to marry me." Larissa shrugged, laughing.
"Did you have any doubts about that?" Calista looked up from her plate.
"You were already married, right? I wasn't sure if you would like to get married again or just maintain a stable relationship." Larissa responded sincerely.
"My marriage with Gaia ended because there was simply no longer compatibility between us. I don't advocate against marriage because my experience was good for many years." Calista explained. "But yes, the mindset of many divorced women with a teenage daughter is that they don't want to get married again. Marriage is a challenge, in my opinion. Just like motherhood. So I want the whole package." Calista smiled, remembering the phrase from the previous night's argument.
"And so it shall be, my love." Larissa smiled, drinking her coffee.
Gaia and Artemis arrived a few minutes later and waited for Calista and Larissa to leave the building. As Calista would be anesthetized and Larissa would take care of her after the procedure, Gaia wanted to drive her and Artemis back to the Academy later that afternoon. About thirty minutes later, the four arrived at the hospital in Burlington.
----------
The egg retrieval procedure was successful, and Calista was soon asleep in the hospital room. Larissa, Artemis, and Gaia remained with her until she woke up. Dr. Maina would observe her until late afternoon and then discharge her to rest at home. With that in mind, Gaia and Artemis went for lunch, promising to bring something for Larissa to eat, as the latter didn't want to leave Calista's side.
Calista insisted that Larissa accompany the other two to the cafeteria, justifying that she was fine and that the nurses would aid her if needed. But nothing convinced Larissa, who dragged a chair to Calista's bedside and sat there, holding her hand and talking. Now and then, she would ask if Calista was okay, only to receive a smile and a nod.
When Dr. Maina entered the room, Larissa and Calista were still alone. He checked all of Calista's vital signs and prescribed medication in case she felt any gynecological pain or discomfort. She should rest for two days to avoid bleeding and gradually return to daily activities. Larissa paid attention to every word the doctor said, glancing at Calista as if to say she would ensure everything was done correctly.
According to the doctor, the results would only be ready after the holidays, and as soon as he had them, he would meet with the four women again. This way, none of them needed to be anxious to receive any news because nothing would come.
"Doc, Calista and I are thinking about having children." Larissa glanced at Calista. "I was wondering if you could give me the contact details of the couple where the shapeshifter woman used her abilities to get her partner pregnant."
"Congratulations to you both on your decision." The doctor said. "Unfortunately, doctor-patient confidentiality does not allow me to share personal data. However, I am committed to conveying the message to them, and if they are interested, they can contact you. What do you think, Ms. Weems? "
"Perfect, Doctor. I would appreciate it. Ah, before you leave." the doctor was about to leave when Larissa called him back. "The mood changes due to hormonal treatment; how long do they last?"
"Are you giving her trouble, Ms. Cos'Anto?" The doctor smiled.
"Let's just say these last few days haven't been easy." Calista smiled back, squeezing Larissa's hand.
"It shouldn't take long. In a few more days, the effect will wear off. Just a little more patience." The doctor said, nodding and leaving the two women alone.
"Do you think the female couple will get in touch?" Calista asked Larissa casually when she sat down next to her again.
"I have no idea. But I'll look for the information myself if they don't." Larissa took Calista's hand to her mouth and kissed her knuckles. "I learned how to be a shapeshifter independently; this is just another step further."
"I'll be by your side through this process, Riss," Calista assured Larissa.
"I know, darling." Larissa smiled and patted Calista's hand.
With Gaia and Artemis back from the cafeteria, Larissa allowed herself to leave Calista's side and let Artemis keep her company. The girl wanted to plan Christmas dinner and was excited to spend it as a family again, like Thanksgiving. She, Gaia, and Larissa would take care of the preparations for supper, while Calista would take care of lighter tasks following the doctor's orders not to exert herself.
----------
On Christmas morning, Calista's apartment was filled with the smell of food being cooked. The other three women were busy in the kitchen except for Calista. Sitting on the kitchen stool, Calista watched the movement and helped occasionally.
Larissa was wearing an apron she brought from Nevermore, as Calista's didn't fit her. She hummed and sipped her red wine as she busied herself with the turkey in the oven. Occasionally, she would cast tender glances at Calista. It had been a few years since Larissa had company for Christmas. Some years, she attended friends' parties; others, she traveled abroad.
In the days leading up to Christmas, while Larissa took care of Calista, they talked about how they wanted the holidays to be from now on. They had not yet told Gaia and Artemis about their plans to get married and have children, but Larissa said that if everyone agreed, she would like them to spend successive Christmases together.
Calista knew this need came from Larissa not getting along with her family, and her Christmases were always miserable. Now that she was about to start her own family with the woman he loved, she wanted to celebrate it yearly.
Artemis was delighted. She didn't know what spending Christmas away from her mothers was like. Even though they were divorced, Gaia and Calista were always together on these commemorative dates. And now, the girl had Larissa to complete the combo. The genetic test results would still take some time to be ready, but the young shapeshifter already considered Larissa part of the family, even if she didn't date her mother.
Calista watched the interaction between Larissa and Artemis and found it difficult to believe that she had not made the association between them for many years, even though they were physically highly similar. Artemis's personality was a mix of Calista's and Gaia's, but as she got closer to Larissa, the girl seemed to acquire some of the principal's traits.
Gaia, in turn, was, as she always was, at ease. She drank beer while cooking, teased Artemis, joked about Calista getting rid of cooking, and reminded Larissa that they were now family in addition to being boss and employee. Her relationship with Ms. Mitchell was not serious, but Calista noticed that from time to time, Gaia answered messages on her cell phone.
The Christmas decorations had been left to Artemis while Larissa and Gaia went shopping the day before. The girl set up the Christmas tree-hung garlands and lights while making Calista listen to an annoying Christmas playlist that made her dance around the room while decorating the apartment. Artemis always liked Christmas, a legacy very well inherited from Calista. Together, the two made Gaia start to like it too, and now their goal was to awaken the feeling in Larissa.
The four of them spent an enjoyable afternoon together. There was no lunch; they snacked throughout the day while cooking and drinking. As Calista couldn't make much effort, she set the dinner table, placing herself and Larissa beside Gaia and Artemis beside each other and facing the other two.
During dinner, Larissa and Calista revealed their intention to get married and have children. Artemis squealed with joy and got up to hug her mother. Without thinking, she grabbed Larissa and gave her a tight hug. The principal was surprised; despite showing affection for each other, they were always restrained in their demonstrations. When Artemis hugged her, Larissa took a few seconds to understand what was happening until she smiled and kissed the girl's head, thanking her for the well wishes.
Gaia, in turn, congratulated Calista and exchanged a smile with Larissa, raising the glass and nodding. Calista noticed the looks and felt an air of conspiracy between her ex-wife and future wife. There was no envy or jealousy between them. Gaia had long ago accepted that her relationship with Calista was friendship and that the love they once had for each other was personalized in Artemis. Larissa understood that Gaia would always be there because she was the girl's mother, and Calista had spent enough time married to her for the bond never to be broken.
The night ended with the four sitting on the couch, stuffing themselves with food and watching a cliché Christmas movie. Larissa and Artemis wanted hot chocolate, and Calista happily prepared their favorite drink. Gaia remained with her beer, and Calista with the wine.
On her wrist, Larissa sported a gold bracelet set in crystals and engraved with her and Calista's initials. Larissa knew that Calista loved watches, and on their first Christmas together, Larissa gave her a white gold Rolex and diamonds that matched what the blonde thought was appropriate.
----------
The next day, Calista was alone at home packing up leftover food from the night before and getting ready to wash what seemed like endless dishes. Gaia, Larissa, and Artemis left for Nevermore because the girl wanted to hike in the forest. It had been a while since Larissa had ventured onto the Academy's grounds, so she decided to accompany Gaia and Artemis.
Before leaving, she left orders for Calista to rest, and when they returned, they would tidy up everything. But Calista wasn't in pain or tired; she was bored of the limitations imposed on her. Deciding that if she used her telekinesis to bring everything that needed to be put away and cleaned close by, she would keep her promise not to move around too much, she set to work.
It was almost lunchtime, and the other three should have been close to getting home when the cell phone rang. It was Larissa. Calista answered, happy to hear her beloved's voice, but was greeted with a deep and urgent voice. An accident had happened. Artemis was admitted unconscious to the nearest hospital, and Larissa was on her way to the apartment to pick up Calista. At the same time, Gaia remained at the hospital, keeping the girl company.

My attempt at summarizing the Stolkien (and Shenny) Cowboy AU thus far (that I've been workshopping with @pcstan of course) under the cut 🐎
Takes place in a small rural town, still undecided if it should still be called South Park or not, set during a classic wild west era. The Marshes have a regular old farm and are neighbors to the Blacks that are city folk that have moved into town after inheriting a few acres of land from a distant relative. Stan and Tolkien becomes fast friends and they, Kyle and Kenny daydream about becoming runaway cowboys when they're older for their own seperate reasons. But when the opportunity to run finally arises at about age 15, only Stan and Kyle actually leave. Stan and Tolkien mutually resent each other - Stan for Tolkien not leaving with him and Tolkien for Stan abandoning his home. They were very much sweethearts without knowing it and so the fallout between them is a lot more bitter and unresolved than with anyone else.
Tolkien stays behind because his parents have passed and the land he inherits is all he has left of them and Kenny stays behind for the sake of his family and for the town (I'll elaborate in a bit). Stan has Kenny promise to look after Shelly in his absence, which Kenny is deeply dedicated to if also partly out of his long unrequited love for Shelly since childhood. Tolkien and Shelly also grow close platonically and regard each other as family.
Tolkien grows up to be the wealthy owner of the town's saloon wherein he employees and thus provides for his friends including Craig, Tweek, Kenny, Bebe and of course Shelly, who works as a saloon girl. Shelly struggles in her job as an enterainer with her abrasive personality, but is grateful to Tolkien for the job, housing and hospitality he gives her - people assume the two are romantically involved, but it is far from the truth. Tolkien is still pining for Stan, though he would never admit this, and Shelly (and anyone who pays attention, really,) knows this. Kenny grows up to become very much a nobody during the day, so poor he relies on the church's generosity and works odd jobs all around town - but at night he is the vigilante cowboy Mysterion, who just happens to have a chaste affair with Shelly. Eventually Kenny reveals his identity and confesses his love to Shelly and the two marry, but just when they settle down and are starting their own family, Stan and Kyle come back to town. Its been 15 years.
Stan and Kyle are now outlaws on the run and seek to hide out in town for a bit until the heat dies down. With them they've got their lil gang which includes David, Trent Boyett and Dog Pu (just randoms they've gathered throughout their lil adventures). Of course nobody's happy to see them, very much least of all Tolkien, who is cold and passive aggresive toward them both, but especially Stan. They have a lot of unresolved tension to work through until they eventually sloooowly achingly and hesitantly crawl toward being finally lovers, most of the effort to getting there being on Stan's part. From friends to sweethearts to exes to strangers to enemies to lovers, yknow yknow. Kenny and Shelly desperately try and hide their relationship from Stan for as long as they possibly can because he'd definitely lose his shit if he were to find out (and he will) but its quite difficult since Shelly is very, very pregnant at this point.
Other notable characters of course include Cartman and Butters who are trying desperately to swindle Tolkien into handing his land over by many means and failing miserably. One of these attempts is Cartman trying to set up Nichole and Tolkien, even though Tolkien is very much a, um, "bachelor", as it were. They have their own gang which includes Clyde, Kevin and even our local priest Scott. There is Wendy, who was arranged to marry Stan since they were little kids but naturally that fell through - now she works as the teacher in the small chapel school they have. Jimmy is our sheriff with Timmy as his deputy. Craig and Tweek work as bartenders (and of course Tweek also plays the piano at times) at the saloon while Bebe is also a saloon girl.
Aaaaand that's about it for now. Not sure if I'm forgetting anything. This AU is very much my brainworms atm - I've never listened to so much country music in my life. If y'all have any questions please ask me or @pcstan cuz it's all we can think about. Ciao!!!

Kardeşlerim Ep 88
The episode started with a 3 weeks time jump, the Eren family were at home looking sad and depressed. Aybike wasn't at home with them. They went to the cemetry to visit Zehra meanwhile Aybike was at the hospital waiting for them so she can get discharged. They showed us a flashback scene: After Aybike's heart stopped, the doctor succeeded in bringing her back to life. Berk was still in shock:
Tumblr media
Sengul dreamt of Elif coming to her house and telling her that she was the reason her mom died. Elif tried to hurt Umutcan and Sengul woke up crying. She feels guilty that Elif is left alone.
The next day, Aybike came to school with the others and of course Berk hugged her as soon as he saw her.
Berk:”My love! Thank god! Come here!”
Tumblr media
And then he hugged her tightly which made her scream in pain because of her neck wound.
Tumblr media
Berk:”I am sorry, I am sorry! Did I hurt you?”
Tumblr media
Aybike:”No, no it didn’t hurt but let’s hug less tightly for a while, is that okay?”
Tumblr media
Berk:”Okay my love, what can we do! Let’s hug less for a while”
Tumblr media
Aybike:”I didn’t say let’s hug less, I said let’s hug less tightly. We will hug softly and we will continue to hug”
Tumblr media
Berk:”Okay, we’ll hug softly, got it”
Tumblr media
Then Berk told them that the two shooters were arrested and they are going to spend a long time in jail. Btw, the Erens gave the keys of the restaurant back to the owner. They didn't want to keep the restaurant after what happened to the kids there. I wish they would’ve kept the restaurant because it would’ve been a good source of income for them.
Berk kept on playing with Aybike’s hair while she was talking to others and checking her neck wound.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
People expected him to kiss her wound and if we were on another channel or someone else was writing the scenario for this then we would’ve gotten that kiss bc Berk would definitely do that 🙄
Sengul went to see Elif and found her arguing with a lady. Turns out it was her landlady and she was asking her to leave the house. Elif packed her stuff and her skateboard and got out of the house. Sengul asked her if she had any relatives she can stay with and Elif said no. Sengul told her to come stay with her and her family for a couple of days and then she can decide what to do.
Berk and Aybike were at the cafeteria.
Berk:”I swear it was one of the scariest days of my life, my love. What if you didn't come back? What if that beautiful heart of yours didn't beat again?God forbid my love, God forbid”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The way he stroked her cheek here 😭😭
Aybike:”Okay, Berk, Okay. Please, please,  let's not talk about this, it's over now, I'm fine”
Tumblr media
Berk:”Okay, let’s stop talking about this, I am okay with that”
Tumblr media
Aybike:”Now, I made a new decision”
Tumblr media
Berk:”What decision? Tell me”
Tumblr media
Aybike:”First, I decided to be a positive person. I am going to take advantage of this second chance given to me”
Tumblr media
Berk:”That’s a great decision my love. You have my support”
Tumblr media
Aybike:”Also, I decided which profession I am going to choose”
Tumblr media
Berk:”which profession? Judge? Architect? Prosecutor?”
I just love this list of jobs he thought would suit Aybike 😂
Tumblr media
Aybike:”Pilot!”
Tumblr media
Berk:”Pilot? Where did you get this idea?”
Tumblr media
Aybike:”This might sound silly to you but when I was at the hospital, I had a dream, I mean I am not sure if it was a vision or a dream but we got married, I became a pilot, and we had children.”
Tumblr media
Berk:”We had children? How many?”
Tumblr media
Aybike:”Two”
Berk:”That’s it?”
Tumblr media
Aybike:”What don’t you like about having two kids? Just be thankful I gave birth to that many”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Aybike was surprised that his mother came to the hospital. Berk told her that she took good care of Sengul. Berk suggested that she and Sengul come have dinner with them later in the evening. Aybike said that she will try to convince Sengul and told Berk to convince his mom too and they will come.
After school, Aybike and Oglucan met Elif at home. Oglucan and Elif had a cute interaction but I am still not sure if they will be paired in the future because usually Oglucan falls for the girl the moment he meets her but he wasn’t affected by Elif. It would be fun to watch, if they do pair them because they have different personalities. Aybike told Sengul that they were invited to dinner at Ayla’s house and Sengul was surprised at first but then told Aybike to text Berk that they will come to dinner and then she told Elif to come with them. Elif at first declined because she didn’t know Ayla so it didn’t make sense for her to go with them but Sengul said that Ayla is so nice she wouldn’t mind.
Berk ordered pizza because Ayla didn’t have time to prepare anything. When Berk, opened the door 😂
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Aybike should stop worrying about girls and focus on her brother bc Istg he’s going to steal her boyfriend one these days 😂
Tumblr media
When Elif shook Berk’s hand, she squeezed it tightly but not on purpose and Berk was surprised by how strong she was.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then they all went to sit and eat and Sengul looked at them and said that she wished she could take a picture of Elif and Berk because they were talking and laughing with each other. Ayla couldn’t believe that Sengul brought Elif to her house. Sengul told her that they were siblings so ofc she was going to bring Elif.
Ayla and Sengul went to the kitchen while the kids stayed in the living room. Ayla was panicking:”What are you trying to do, Sengul? How can you bring that girl to my house? ” Sengul told her that Elif was left alone, she couldn’t handle the guilt so she brought her to her house. She told Ayla that when she went to see Elif, her landady was trying to kick her out of the house. Then Sengul told her that she better think of a way to tell Elif that she is going to stay with her from now on. Ayla said that she can’t allow her to stay here because she doesn’t know how she was raised bc what if she’s a theif. Sengul told her that since she separated the two siblings, she needed to take responsibility now and keep them together. Sengul told her that since she needs help around the house, she can say that Elif can help her and that way it doesn’t look suspicious.  Aybike came downstairs to get some water and ended up hearing Sengul say that Elif is Berk’s sister. Aybike was shocked and ran upstairs. She kept on staring at Elif and Elif got pissed. She asked her why she was staring at her like that and Aybike said that she spaced out. Elif said:”Good because I am not in the mood to fight with anyone”. Berk said that she is annoying 😂
Then, Ayla and Sengul came. Sengul said that Ayla has something to share with everyone concerning Elif. Ayla told Elif that Sengul told her about what happened to her and so she decided to give her a scholarship to study at the same school as Berk. I am sorry but aren’t we at the end of the school year?? Or in the middle?? It amazes me how they can transfer students to a new school whenever they want on this show. Anyway, Ayla told her that she can stay with them because she needs help around the house. Berk did not like what his mother proposed to Elif. These two started fighting as soon as they met, I can’t wait to see how their relationship will develop in the future. Aybike actually tried to defend Ayla’s decision when Berk said that his mom’s proposition was ridiculous. Her first instinct was to make sure that he didn’t offend his sister 🥺
When they got home, Oglucan and Elif fought and it was so funny. Elif told Oglucan that she doesn’t like him and Oglucan said that he feels the same. I wonder if the writers decided to give Oglucan the enemies to lovers kind of relationship this time. He is still thinking about Afra btw, that’s why I am not sure about these two being partners. Sengul and Aybike were in her room. Aybike asked Sengul how can Berk and Elif be siblings. Sengul was surprised by her question and tried to leave but Aybike told her not to try and avoid the question because she heard her and Ayla talk about this. Sengul told her that Elif is his twin sister and that she talked to their mother before she died. Aybike asked about their father’s wearhabouts and Sengul told her that he was in prison.  Aybike was so sad to hear all of this. Sengul told her to keep this a secret and to not tell berk. Sengul of course didn’t tell her that Resul bought Berk or that Ayla was involved in his mother’s death.
The next day, Elif came with Ayla to school to enroll. The dean welcomed Elif and asked her if she was ready to join Attaman school and Elif said I am ready but is this school ready for me. I love her energy tbh 😂 She saw Berk and the rest at the cafeteria.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Berk can’t stand her and I know the writers are doing this on purpose because it happened with Omer and Harika in S1 and Omer and Yasmin and Sarp in this season. Aybike started defending Elif after Berk called her weird. Aybike said that she is young like them, she is someone's daughter or someone’s sister so they should try to understand her. Then, Aybike told Asyie that she needs to talk to her. Aybike told Asiye about Elif and Berk being siblings but told Asiye to keep it a secret.
Nebehat and Akif decided to throw a party to welcome Bahar. While everyone was talking about siblings, Berk mentioned that he’s probably the only one in the group without a sibling and Susen said that she also doesn’t have a sibling. It’s okay Susen you’ll get one in the next season 😂 Aybike asked Berk if he wanted to have a sibling but Berk said no, that he likes being an only child and Aybike looked at Asiye 😬 Tolga got gifts for Emel and Bahar and he went upstairs to look for the girls to give them their gifts. Bahar and Emel wanted to watch a movie but the dvd Bahar put in the laptop was the security footage showing how Leyla fell. The dvd took some time to load so the girls chose to play with dolls instead however they left the laptop open and the video started playing. Tolga came to give the girls their gifts and saw the laptop. I am not sure if he saw the video because the laptop was slightly turned to the left so the whole screen wasn’t visible. We’ll know when we get the teaser because they didn’t release one today.
I am surprised by the pace in this episode. I didn’t expect Aybike to find out the truth about Elif this early. When I found out about Berk's birth story, I expected that Aybike would somehow be involved in this. I thought his bio mom would still be alive and Aybike would find out about her when she hears Sengul and Ayla talk about this later in the season, Aybike would hide the truth from Berk, Berk finds out and they break up. Like I said before, the other couples have huge secrets that will lead to a major break up but not Ayber. But then Sarpil died and I dropped this scenario. But now!!!! Aybike found out about Elif and she was shocked. I wonder if she will find out about how Resul bought Berk because I think she thinks that he was adopted. Do you guys think Aybike will tell Berk the truth? Honestly, I think both scenarios are possible 😭

I WANNA KNOW ABOUT BUWAN!!!!!! -⚡️
OMG OKAY BUWAN MY BELOVED im gonna split this up into like .. a wikipedia page sort of . so like early life how he got his talent etc etc :3 but fun facts come first.
fun facts!
likes: cats, whales, sleeping, people, eating, late night walks, sour-tasting things, trash tv, singing and dancing, dark, muted colors
dislikes: eggs, doctors and hospitals, loud sudden noises, being alone, expensive things, waking up early, paperwork, dogs
ethnicity: filipino !!
relatives: mother (deceased), father, brother (miko, 2 years younger)
early life!! (tw for child abuse/neglect, suicide, ableism)
buwan was very hyper-sensitive and imaginative as a child and was homeschooled until he was about 9, so he didnt get much social interaction aside from his brother who often didn't have the time to hang out with him, but his brother was very supportive and patient unlike their parents. their mother was immunocompromized and schizophrenic so she was bedridden most of the time. their father seemed to only care about his wife and paid little attention to the kids unless it was for chores for their mother. miko grew distant from their parents very early on but buwan kept trying to find ways to cheer his mother up (nothing worked, by the way. their conversations would usually end with a book being thrown at buwan or an uncomfortable silence). around when buwan was put into public school he started to have very vivid hallucinations and delusions, none of which were directly harmful or distressing for him, but when his mother found out she was enraged (you know, parents hate when their kids have the same "flaws" as them) and would call him into her room every day for lectures he didnt understand. when he could help it, though, after school he went to a friend's house (her name was mary!) for snacks and tea. along with miko, mary was one of the only people that supported and understood buwan. they gave eachother nicknames! buwan was "balyena" and mary was "tulipan" !!! though buwan's hallucinations weren't distressing for him, every time he went to bed he had a recurring nightmare of his mother killing herself and blaming him. they got to the point where he would wake up screaming and crying outside his mother's room without knowing how he got there. so every night he would stay up and meet with mary and they would vent their frustrations out by a small creek. he invited miko a couple times but he was too focused on schoolwork. on a day where miko was on a field trip and their father was on a business trip, buwan had gone to school like normal. mary wasn't there that day, but it was okay, because she was probably just sick, right? he had some spare change and would stop at the convenience store on the way to her house to buy her something sweet. when he got to her house, her mother answered the door with a panicked, crazed look on her face. she shook buwan, yelling in his face asking where mary was, what he did with her, she knew something was off about buwan, just look at the way he talks to himself! but buwan didn't really care about anything she was saying, because if mary wasn't at home sick, something was off. he shook her off and dropped off what he bought by the doorstep and started sprinting (or as close to sprinting as he could, every step he took he was heaving and coughing) to that small creek they meet up at every night. it was far from both buwan's and mary's house, so by the time he got there it was already dark. the creek was small, but there were certain parts which were deeper than one would expect--mary and buwan avoided those spots very carefully. in one of those spots was mary's body tied down to something at the bottom, probably a rock. there was a note by one of the drier spots, saying that she had done it herself and that as much as she liked hanging out with buwan, it was too much. but buwan barely processed any of that before he passed out due to overexertion, exhaustion, shock, you get it. it was still dark when he got back up, mary's body still floating (but slightly more decomposed) in front of him. he turned around and sprinted home because he had to tell someone, anyone, what happened. maybe his mother would finally sympathize with him, comfort him and tell him how good he was dealing with everything (he knew this was a stupid thought to think, but he thought about it nonetheless). when he got home, the only sound in the house was his dry heaving and relentless coughing. he searched the house for anyone, hoping that miko and his father had returned earlier than suspected, but he was alone.
guilt probed his chest when he remembered he was supposed to take care of his mother for the few days everyone else was gone, and he prepared himself for the lecture he was going to get as he opened the door to his mother's room. the tv was on--muted, but on--and it served as the only light source in the room. books, papers, medical equipment, and the like were scattered and trashed around the room. but buwan wasn't focused on any of that, because in the center of the room was his mother, arm bleeding (it seemed she ripped her IV out) and frail body suspended mid-air via a chord that buwan could only guess was for one of many medical machines in the room. buwan stood there, stunned and shaking, taking in the scene. what was he going to tell miko? his father? buwan was lightheaded and dizzy, his ears ringing so loud in his head he could barely hear himself scream as he dropped to the floor, his legs finally giving out under invisible pressure. he doesn't remember much, nor for how long he was screaming, but when he was shoved aside by who he could only assume was his father, it was midday. after that, he wouldn't talk at all (he was afraid that if he opened his mouth, he would just start screaming again) and his hallucinations disappeared. buwan's father admitted him into a psychiatric hospital miles away (the town they lived in was too small for a real one, the only "hospital" there was a check-up clinic) where he stayed for two years until he was 14. buwan remembers close to none of it, as the medicine they prescribed him made him spacey and disoriented. he wondered if this was how his mother felt, but the thought made him nauseous. buwan vaguely remembered miko coming to visit (never his father, why would he visit?), but he never remembered what he said to him. it only occurred to him what miko said every time he came to visit when he was suddenly discharged with miko hurriedly wheeling him out. buwan cried the entire ride home.
career!
most people thought of buwan as a dunce, slow, idiotic, stupid, so nobody ever gave him a chance to find something he was passionate about. everyone, save for miko and mary, thought buwan was going to end up exactly like his mother (except his mother had her masters in biochemistry, so he didn't know why people were comparing an idiot like himself to her). one day, when buwan was 15 and a dropout, he complained to miko about being bored. miko, knowing buwan better than anyone else (even himself, because buwan never had the time for self-exploration), suggested he take up studying a topic of his choice. buwan was confused at first, because nobody had ever suggested something like that to him (because knowledge was wasted on him, right?). it took a couple weeks of brainstorming, trying out random things (and immediately deciding they were boring, a waste of time, and/or too complicated. miko got a little irritated when buwan said it was too complicated, because miko knows buwan is capable of doing it. it just wasn't in his interest), and self-exploration before buwan brought up the topic of dreams. it was miko's turn to be confused, because buwan had so much trouble with dreams of his own that he wasn't sure it would work out for buwan. but buwan was oddly persistent (something miko wasn't used to seeing in buwan), so with some extra cash their father sent them, buwan enrolled himself into a course on the study of dreams.
fun facts part 2!!
buwan is a mean drunk and a lightweight
he hates eggs because one time his father made everyone scrambled eggs and some shell got in and cut buwan's mouth. also they smell bad
he eats a shit ton. like it doesnt matter if he just had a full course meal he could go for 5 more
his eyesight is horrible but he refuses to get glasses
the only thing that can make him cry nowadays is shitty slice of life romance anime
his name means moon !!!
hes 6'0" (183cm)
hes banned from at least 5 aquariums because he keeps falling asleep in them and tries to get into the tanks (he cant swim)
he talks very silly with a lot of vocal stims! ex: "i'm buwan parungao, prryon! i have a masters in neuroscience, prryon, and i specialize in oneirology! in fact, buwan is the best in his field, tick-tock!" he also says "sing-song" "tete" and "meow" (a lot of animal noises honestly.)

petra müller; spiderverse !
basic info.
full name:  petra müller
nicknames:  spider-hoops
age:  20
gender:  cisfemale
sexual orientation:  demisexual, biromantic
occupation:  part-time at a dessert restaurant, working with the spider society.
height:  5′4″
background.
petra's life started out similar to her canon verse. her mother met her father at college, they fell in love and masaru moved to germany to have a life with ingrid. they bought a house together, got married, and had petra. life was relatively normal, of course, petra lived a normal life full of love until the death of both of her parents in a car accident, which destroyed her. she was only ten and so a custody battle ensued after their deaths. her grandparents from japan wanted their hands on her, but her mother's parents ultimately won, and they took her in. bertram and maude müller were the names of her two german grandparents, and they took her in with welcoming arms. it wasn't as traumatic for petra as it could have been, she was used to visiting her grandparents and staying over on the weekends anyway. for the next few years, she just pretended she was staying at her grandparent's house for a really long time. her parents would come home.
as petra entered her teenage years she took up roller skating, adapting to the hobby quite quickly. in her spare time, she could be found at the skatepark, skating all her worries away. a few years later, when she turned fifteen, she was at the skatepark with her friends, packing her skates up when she noticed a tiny little spider crawling along the back of her hand. it was a jumping spider, she easily noted, but its colourations were abnormal. its entire body was a ghostly white aside from two soft blue pinchers. it was beautiful, until it bit her, of course. instinctively, she swatted it, killing it. not thinking much of it, she left with her friends to get the train home.
the weeks that followed were hellish, petra fell so incredibly ill that she was rushed to the hospital. having noticed something so unexplainably strange was happening to her, petra could only tie it all back to that spider bite. the first few days were strange, she would stick to things, her body changed a little, she got a little bit of muscles - she was so strong and fast. and could jump really, really high. at first it was fun and exciting, but then a day later she noticed she was a little cold when she awoke that morning, then a few hours later she was frozen to the bone. she spent a few days wrapped up under bundles and bundles of blankets, yet nothing seemed to work. she was freezing to death. literally. and her grandparents had no clue what to do, but when her lips began to turn blue they sent her straight to the hospital. when she arrived, however, her body began to heat back up, and no one could understand why. and not even an hour after being emitted into the hospital her body temperature was regulated. so, she was sent home, where petra began to start her investigation.
following the usual spiderman plotline, petra tried to learn as much as she could about her new abilities, the type of spider that bit her and eventually when trouble arose, she was there to fight it off. she discovered that the coldness that almost killed her that day was an ability she obtained from the spider bite. her body could run ice cold, and she could make the area around her go frosty or even be layered in ice, depending on the output of cold she released. it didn't pair well in an offensive situation, but she felt it did well when she got tangled up with the enemy. it was good when being restrained or needing the element of surprise, or even losing someone. she could flood the area with frost and fight blind.
and it was during a battle when a grocery store was being robbed that petra used this trick, unaware there was someone still hiding in the store to avoid the fighting. she flooded the store with frost, charging forward to fight the robbers, dodging their bullets easily before taking them out. however, when the frost melted away and the scent of blood filled her senses, she turned to see her uncle bertram laying bleeding out on the floor of the store. she took his body quickly and exited the back of the shop, ripping her mask off swiftly so he couldn't see what was happening, and she held him in her arms as he died. after this, it was just her and her aunt maude, and petra was struggling severally.
after the death of her uncle, petra was urged to go and visit her family in japan for a while by her aunt. maude knew petra was going through a lot and she thought visiting another country, and getting to explore a little with some time off school would help her. ( it wasn't like the time off school would dampen her grades, petra was highly intelligent, as she had created her own web shooters and web fluid. ) however, when she arrived in tokyo she was surprised to hear about the recent uproar in kyoto. there was destruction in the poor city, and none of them knew why. having almost left her suit behind, petra was thankful she hadn't, because it didn't take her long to pull it on and rush to play the hero in kyoto.
facing her most dangerous and destructive enemy yet, petra found herself in the middle of a family feud, and whenever she went toe to toe with the woman who easily destroyed over half of kyoto easily, petra was made aware of the fact she wasn't the only abnormally strong person out there. the woman, who she found out to be named bushida ahmya, was her hardest enemy to date. only being sixteen years old and having lost almost all her family, when petra discovered all the chaos was over a family feud, petra didn't hold back. she stuck her nose so far into their business ahmya decided to eliminate this 'spider-woman' before finishing her family off because the spider-woman showed up whenever she stepped a toe out of line. after a week in kyoto, and seemingly fighting every single day she was there, their biggest battle took place. it was almost apocalyptic looking, the carnage at the scene. it was blow for blow, none of them holding back. sadly, petra got overpowered during their fight and hurt pretty badly to the point she was down for a while, and during that time her enemy had curiously strolled over and demasked her.
they managed to come to an agreement once ahmya realised she was fighting a teenager, and petra knew it was as close to winning as she'd get. the hero and the villain ended up being able to relate to each other in ways they didn't expect, and ahmya and petra bonded, which was unexpected in several ways. ahmya took on a motherly role with petra, carletta took on a sisterly role. petra went back to germany, ahmya and carletta went back to scotland, and they kept in touch with petra visiting every few weeks.
several years later, when petra turned nineteen she was approached by miguel after battling a villain back in germany who was supposedly from a different dimension, and she asked to join the spider society. she agreed, being a little naive and curious by nature, and began working with the society. she took on jobs and spent most of her free time there, up until miles showed up and her morals were put to the test. after hobie quit and they all chased down miles, petra snuck off also, fleeing to pull her thoughts together. ultimately, she sides with miles, showing up when the team bands together to go and find him in whatever dimension he's in.
additional facts.
despite her story, petra is a very carefree individual. she is noted to take after her mother, who was a free spirit who marched to the beat of her own drum. well, petra does the same, only she skates to the beat of the music booming from her headphones. she also apparently looks a lot like her mother.
petra was bitten by a radioactive phidippus audax ( bold jumping spider. ) its entire body was white, aside from the hair that adorned its body which was a pretty sky blue with matching blue pinchers. when it bit petra, she did feel a rush of icy coldness but brushed it off after accidentally killing it. as a result of this bite, she received all the usual spider abilities ( minus the ability to produce webs from her wrists ) and two additional abilities as well. the first was her ability to jump fifty times her size, much higher than any normal spider person. and her ability to produce frost and ice. she also adapted some character traits from this species of spider. she developed a natural curiosity about things, the urge to keep the peace and a keen interest in people-watching.
her physical changes weren't limited to her muscle increase, her strength and speed, but her eyes had changed colour as a result of her frosty dance with death. while she was born with deep hazel eyes, they brightened significantly to a bright, sky blue, the exact same shade as the spider's pinchers. it was something that made her unnerved, as it looks slightly abnormal, and she is still insecure about her eyes.
she gets on well with people and enjoys spending time with people. one of the things she does around the base is skating around, shooting her webs onto people and letting them drag her along, cutting the web to attach to someone else. she will attach two webs to someone's hands and let them walk her around with her roller skates on.
petra's spider suit is all white, like the base of gwen's, but with sky blue detailing, and the sky blue spider symbol across her chest. along with this, she has white and sky-blue lace trimmings around her shoes, mimicking laces, and at the cuff of her wrists, which leads into blue-looking gloves. not wearing an entire head covering mask, petra opts to wear an eye mask, shaped into the spider symbol, with lace trimmings also. it covers her eyes, and thanks to the design, it covers parts of her cheeks too. this is so she can use her frost ability through her mouth and nose. as an additional quirk, she has rollerblades built into her feet. with a certain clinking of her feet, she can release the wheels and skate to her heart's content. a lot of her fighting style is adapted to being able to fight with skates on.
this verse is connected with @sozokami's original character ahmya's spiderverse. ahmya played the role of the main villain in petra's story, although she did not die, but instead took on a maternal role in her life. so i will potentially reference this character, and a character named carletta, a lot in threads or in posts.

Meet the House of Ali — featuring Ashraf Ali, Josefina Dara, Noor Ali, and Mahmoud Ali.
Tumblr media
ASHRAF • Young Adult • Goofball, Generous, Family-oriented
Ashraf is a San Myshuno native, born and raised by Noor and Mahmoud Ali. Despite being an only child, Ash was always pretty close to his community in the Spice District. I like to think he's much like his father, having inherited a lot of his chaotic humor. But through and through, he's a mama's boy. Since a young age, Ash has been passionate about music. Following high school, he sought to pursue music in college, but ended up dropping out due to costs. Since dropping out of art school, his dreams have shifted back toward his community. As his parents get older, Ash has gotten passionate about fighting for equity in the city, especially for local immigrants and ethnic minorities. Through his new work in activist circles, he met Josefina, another city native. Their friendship quickly turned into a romance and very swiftly, they began imagining a life together. It wasn't long before the two became and engaged and Josefina moved in, which is where we begin our story.
Tumblr media
JOSEFINA • Young Adult • Materialistic, Overachiever, Family-Oriented
Josefina is also a San Myshuno native, but with less family around. Originally born in Sulani assigned male at birth, Josefina grew up with her father in San Myshuno who was relatively supportive of her flamboyant expression of her gender from such a young age. When Josefina was a preteen, her father passed away and she spent a few years jumping from foster home to foster home in the city. When she became a teenager, she gained emancipation and began her transition with hormonal replacement therapy (HRT) to support her newfound womanhood. Despite jumping from job to job, Josefina always felt rooted to her activist friends in the city, through whom she met Ashraf. She didn't quite know how lonely she was until she met him. Pretty quickly he felt like family and they began to dream of a life together. Their romance moved quickly and she accepted his offer to move in with him and his parents. Josefina dreams of becoming a famous actress. At times this dream gets the best of her and she gets lost in trying to be the most stylish person in the room. It is also because of this dream that she worries that she won't fully be accepted by Ash's parents. But she's sure trying her best to make good impressions with them.
Tumblr media
NOOR • Elder • Lazy, Wise, Cheerful
Noor and Mahmoud were childhood sweethearts, growing up in the same village outside of Oasis Springs (this is the best I got y'all... Sims 4 doesn't have any North African-inspired or Middle Eastern worlds). Mahmoud was one of her first friends since going to school and from there, he became one of the safest people in her world. Since leaving their home, Noor and Mahmoud both kept looking to building a new home and family for themselves in the city. They always aimed stay in the city temporarily and move out to San Sequoia to raise their children. However, that day never came. After having Ashraf, the two wanted more children but Noor faced difficulties in getting pregnant. Eventually, they praised God for their blessings and showered Ashraf with all their love, attention, and care. Noor works at the local hospital as a medical assistant. Ashraf continues to be her greatest blessing. Life has passed her quickly and her dreams of becoming a doctor have become less important to her than spending time with her family and being present in every moment. She is happy for Ashraf and excited to have Josefina as her soon-to-be daughter-in-law, though she prays day in and day out that they both will be able to give her grandkids one day.
Tumblr media
MAHMOUD • Elder • Goofball, Family-oriented, Freegan
Mahmoud was a friend to everyone in the village since a young boy. He loved nothing more though than making Noor laugh. He became quickly protective of his new friend, and eventually his friendship with Noor grew beyond platonic. 'The rest is ancient history,' he says. He knew that Noor wanted to be a doctor, so he proposed that they move to San Myshuno, chasing opportunities in a land bountiful in possibility. Mahmoud had crafted a grand plan for them when they arrived: • GET A JOB • GET RICH • MOVE TO SAN SEQUOIA • HAVE 3 BOYS AND 3 GIRLS But life happened. Mahmoud has never resented how things turned out for his family in San Myshuno—after all, he loved his wife and his new son, Ashraf with all of his heart. However, over the years, he's grown tired of living in San Myshuno and the struggles they've had with money, the rudeness and exploitation from the rich, and the lack of opportunities in the Spice District. Still he reminds himself of his blessings. Mahmoud works as a community activist and is so proud of his son for following in his footsteps to support and work for his community. Secretly, however, he resents working at all in San Myshuno. He misses his homeland and misses the days of working as a farmhand on his uncle's farm as a young boy, so he does what he can to save money and make produce in the local community garden. Mahmoud is thrilled to meet Josefina, despite not knowing very much about her beyond what Ash has told him and Noor. He just hopes that she will make lots of money so he can retire.

The Stars Collide - Chapter 22
This turned out to be a very long chapter from Alastair's POV. The loss in executive function after ECT is really a side effect that can happen, usually only the day of the ECT itself.
CW: domestic violence (in a flashback), ECT, unethical experimentation AO3 | Chapter list
Christopher had coordinated a continuation of Alastair’s ECT at the academic hospital in Lightwood. He went twice a week now. The days he had ECT on were horrible. He couldn’t eat or drink until after the ECT, his memory didn’t work until the day after, and he was sometimes experiencing severe executive dysfunction after the ECT. Alastair was tired and wanted to go to bed, but somehow he couldn’t figure out how to change into his pajamas. He had done this a million times before. He knew how to change clothes. He told himself to just do it. Take off his clothes, put on his pajamas. His brain refused.
Thomas was already changed into his pajamas and got into bed. ‘Are you coming?’
Alastair decided to give up and just get into bed. It wasn’t exactly comfortable to sleep in his day clothes, but there was nothing else to it.
Thomas frowned. ‘Are you going to sleep in clothes?’
‘Yes.’
‘What about your pajamas?’
‘Can’t find them. I’m tired.’
‘They’re right there,’ Thomas said. ‘You can sleep in whatever you want, but I can’t imagine this is comfortable.’
‘It’s not,’ Alastair admitted.
He felt buttons pressing against him. With his recent weight gain, his clothes were a little on the tight side and while he didn’t mind walking around in them, lying in bed in them was very uncomfortable. Nor did he want his clothes to get all wrinkly and sweaty.
‘Can you help me?’ Alastair asked. ‘It’s the ECT – I don’t know how change.’
‘Oh. Sure, of course.’
Thomas got out of bed and Alastair did the same. He tried to breathe as Thomas started unbuttoning his shirt, and stripped him down to his undergarments. It was mortifying. The only context in which he’d want Thomas to undress him was if they were going to have sex. Instead, Thomas helped him into his pajamas like he was a child who hadn’t yet figured out how to dress himself and they got back in bed together.
‘That must suck,’ Thomas said. ‘Did you forget how to change? Or can’t you make yourself do it?’
‘It was other things too, I think, but not as essential. When I couldn’t figure out how to cut an onion I could just say I was tired and then your mother did it for me. It’s like there’s so many steps involved and my brain decides to give up. No matter how hard I try I can’t make myself do it.’
‘I’m sure you’ll feel better tomorrow,’ Thomas said. ‘Good night.’
Alastair hated ECT. He did feel like he was getting somewhere. He dreamt of experiments and labs almost every night, but he still couldn’t quite touch the memories. At this point, Alastair was quite certain they were real. These experiments had happened. But he needed to be able to show Charlotte his memories, otherwise he’d have no proof anything happened.
His power did seem more consistent and reliable apart from those gaps, he wasn’t getting lost in memories the same way anymore, and when he did Alastair presumed those were PTSD symptoms. He’d started working on making a list of triggers he could avoid for now, because while he didn’t want to hide from life for a long time, he also wanted to protect himself from having multiple flashbacks a day. The Lightwood house was relatively safe. There was a lot of room to stay inside, and Gideon and Sophie Lightwood were very calm and gentle people. Still, there had been some things. Gideon sometimes wore a cologne that was too similar to what Charles had worn, and he’d had to change to something completely different. While Sophie rarely drank alcohol, she did like to use wine in her cooking and Alastair had to leave the kitchen when she did.
Everyone was easy to accommodate him when needed, but Alastair struggled to ask for it. He didn’t always know what he needed, and he didn’t want to inconvenience other people. More importantly, he didn’t want to show weakness, he didn’t want people to know how upset these little things could make him. Somehow he was losing the ability to hide it though. He didn’t know why that had been easier back when he was just surviving Charles.
Alastair woke up from another nightmare, another one that was slipping through his fingers the moment he tried to process it awake. It was driving him insane, to know it was right there, on the tip of his tongue, but when he needed it the most he lost it. Again.
Thomas pushed himself up to a sitting position. ‘Did you have a nightmare?’
‘It’s the same as always. I know it was the experiment, but I can’t remember any details, or verify if it’s real,’ Alastair said.
‘That must be frustrating.’
‘It’s so close, yet I can’t access it.’
He moved a little closer to Thomas. Perhaps it was too much, but Alastair wanted this, he wanted to be close to Thomas, to be held by him, to feel his strong arms. They hadn’t done that again, and Alastair hadn’t known how to ask. But now it was all he could think of. It was ironic that there was so much distance between Alastair and the man he was married to. And it was nice that they’d taken time, that they hadn’t started sleeping together immediately. But now that Alastair did want it, he had no idea how to initiate, how to ask for it. He was used to Charles deciding when and where and how they’d have sex, and while he was happy to have the freedom to decide for himself, he also had no idea how to get back to being intimate and having sex without someone else taking the initiative. He only knew the way Charles had initiated sex and that was not something he would ever wish to do to another person.
‘You’ll get there,’ Thomas said. ‘I have faith in you.’
Alastair nodded. It was nice, someone having faith in him. Alastair himself was inclined to expect the worst, he’d always been rather pessimistic and didn’t have a lot of faith himself. Mira had been right about that, his self esteem was very low. But if Alastair wanted to stop hating himself, he would have to become a person worthy of love and he had no idea how to do that.
He moved a little closer again, hoping Thomas would somehow take the hint and make a move, but either Thomas didn’t notice or he had no interest.
‘Let’s go back to sleep,’ Thomas suggested instead.
Alastair turned around and pulled the covers over him. It took him a while to fall asleep again, and he woke very early the next morning. Not wanting to stay in bed without falling asleep again, he out of bed and started dressing himself. Thank the stars his brain was working again. He went to the library to continue with Thomas’ long book series. He was used to functioning on very little sleep and rarely had an uninterrupted night. He didn’t remember what it felt like to not be tired. This was fine.
After finishing the next chapter, Alastair remembered it might be a good idea to have breakfast. He closed the book and went to the kitchen, where Sophie was pouring oats from a big bowl into a small bowl.
‘Morning, Alastair. You want some oats too? I made a big batch last night.’
‘Sure,’ he said.
‘Would you like any toppings to finish the oatmeal? I have apple slices, bananas, cinnamon, maple syrup.’
‘I’ve never had maple syrup before,’ Alastair said.
‘It’s common in this area because of all the trees, but elsewhere on the planet it’s not used as often. I really like it with pancakes or oats,’ Sophie said. ‘It’s kind of an unusual flavor.’
The oats with maple syrup were very good, it turned out.
‘You’re up early,’ Sophie said.
‘I usually wake early,’ Alastair said. ‘Sleeping issues, I’ve had those for years.’
‘Oh, that sounds difficult,’ Sophie said.
‘I’m used to it,’ Alastair said.
‘I hope Thomas doesn’t wake you up with his snoring.’
‘He doesn’t snore,’ Alastair said. ‘Though he can breathe rather loud.’
‘He snored when he was a child. I’m happy for you that he doesn’t anymore.’
‘If he did, I wouldn’t be willing to sleep in the same bed, that’s for sure,’ Alastair said. ‘But as it is, I like having him near me. Somehow I feel safer.’
‘That’s good. I know it must be difficult for you to feel safe. It took me a while to feel safe around other people again after I left my abusive ex.’
Alastair’s interest was piqued, but he knew he shouldn’t ask questions. ‘I’m sorry that happened to you.’
‘It was a long time ago,’ Sophie said. ‘I regret what happened, but I’ve made peace with it.’
‘How did you recover?’
‘After I left, Charlotte offered me a place to stay. She was still Crown Princess then and had more time for me. She offered me her friendship and support. I owe her a lot, and she’s still one of my closest friends. Gideon helped me too. It took a while for me to believe he could genuinely be interested in me, my self esteem was very low back then. My ex gave me this.’
Sophie pointed at the scar on her face. Alastair had wondered about it, but had figured it would be rude to ask.
‘He told me now no one else would want me now that I wasn’t beautiful anymore. Not that he ever made me feel beautiful, he only ever tore me down,’ she said. ‘But Gideon only ever made me feel beautiful. It didn’t matter to him that I have a scar or that I gained a lot of weight after my pregnancies.
He was rather awkward at expressing his intentions when we first got together. He ended up blurting out that he intended to ask me out to our friends while I was also in the room. And then there’s the scone incident.’
Alastair grinned. ‘That must have been awkward. But he does seem like a good partner.’
‘He is. Thomas is a lot like him. Including the awkwardness, I’m afraid. He always struggles to take initiative when he likes someone, I really was surprised when he heard he was going to marry you, that he volunteered for it. I figured he must have really liked you.’
‘It’s an arranged marriage,’ Alastair said. ‘Thomas did volunteer for it, but I think that’s because Charlotte was pressuring Matthew into marrying me instead. He doesn’t really have feelings for me. But we are good friends now. That should be enough.’
He wished it was enough. Friendship was good, and valuable, something he had missed out on his entire life. But he wanted romance too. He wanted Thomas.
‘It does. But are you sure Thomas doesn’t have feelings for you? Because as I said, he struggles with taking the initiative.’
Alastair sighed. ‘I don’t know.’
‘Do you want him to have feelings for you?’
‘I think so? I do really like him, and I’d want our relationship to be more romantic. But I couldn’t function in a romantic relationship.’
Alastair was barely functioning in a friendship with Thomas, and while he’d love the upsides of a romantic and sexual relationship with him, he knew relationships were difficult and complicated and he’d never quite been able to figure that out. All he knew was Charles’ increasingly difficult moods. All he knew was to escalate, to get mad and then end up getting beaten up. He knew Thomas wasn’t like that, Thomas wouldn’t hit him, but Thomas deserved a better romantic partner than him. The best Alastair could do for him was please him in the bedroom, and Thomas did not seem interested in that.
‘What makes you say that?’ Sophie sounded concerned.
‘I’m not sure how to explain it. But I’m not very good with people,’ Alastair said.
‘Lots of people aren’t good with people, what matters is you find someone who is compatible with you. I’ve seen you and Thomas interact, and I think you can read each other quite well for a couple that hasn’t been married that long. The issue, I think is, that the situation is a little awkward since you got married before establishing any sort of relationship and you now have to figure out what you want and need from each other. And Thomas is the kind of person to avoid difficult conversations.’
‘I guess that’s true. But he’s also very kind and caring. He does so much for me, and I’m not sure I have anything to give back.’
‘What’s most important to Thomas, I think, is to spend quality time with the people he cares about. Going to museums, walks in the woods, things like that. That’s difficult right now since you have to stay safe, but he also likes watching tv shows with other people and then discuss it, or discuss books he likes.’
‘That doesn’t sound too difficult,’ Alastair said. ‘We do watch tv shows together, and I read his books. And if it weren’t for all the threats against me I’d love to go to a museum with him.’
Alastair hadn’t considered such things as part of a romantic relationship. They were things you did in any relationship, he guessed, be it friends, or family, or romantic. It was something he’d missed with Charles, who’d often been too busy and only took him along to important state affairs, none of which could be described as fun. No one had really cared about his interests and the only time he had any fun with other people was when he watched Tilly.
That afternoon, he decided to go for a walk in the woods. Sophie had suggested Thomas might like it if they went on a walk together, and as long as Cordelia came along to keep them safe it was alright. Lucie had decided to come along too.
Thomas knew the way, while Cordelia knew how to keep him safe. Lucie had offered him some more charms for extra protection, one she claimed would make it so the people who meant him harm wouldn’t find him. There was no evidence anyone had followed him here so far, he hoped it would stay that way.
Alastair’s only earlier experience with the woods of Lightwood was in Thomas’ memory, when Thomas and Christopher had gotten lost in here. Alastair began to understand how that could happen, the woods were endless here. The seasons were more outspoken here than in the Fair palace area, the leaves had turned bright orange and red and the forest floor was covered. It was gorgeous.
Lucie looked around in awe. ‘This is exactly the kind of environment I need to set my next book in,’ she said.
‘Do different environments often inspire you?’ Alastair asked.
‘Oh, yes,’ Lucie said. ‘I once spent a week on a submarine. Witch work. But it helped me come up with so many new ideas.’
‘Sounds terrifying,’ Thomas said. ‘I mean, what if it sinks and you get stuck? I imagine that would be a horrible way to die.’
‘What’s the point of submarines anyway?’ Alastair asked. ‘There’s no reason you’d need to go undetected and hoverships are far more environmentally friendly.’
‘They’re mostly used for scientific research,’ Lucie said. ‘Mapping out the ocean and such. I also heard there’s people working on figuring out how to live underwater. Like, build spaces people can live in underwater. We’re kind of running out of space on the planet, so people are looking for solutions in case we need to house more people.’
Alastair was hit by a sudden fear. He couldn’t breathe. He needed to get away, but he didn’t know where to find safety. There was no way out. There was no way out. But how could that be, they were in the middle of a forest. Then he wasn’t in a forest anymore.
Alastair stopped in his tracks. ‘Charles, what is this place?’
They’d been on a hovership for a long time, on their way to one of Charles’ new projects. Charles had been eager to show Alastair what he was working on, had told him that he would be very important for this project. Alastair was happy to be able to help Charles, he truly was, but he didn’t trust this place. The pilot of the hovership had stopped in the middle of the ocean, and then a submarine had come up, ready to catch them. He had followed Charles onto the submarine, down the hatch, and the submarine had taken them down into the ocean to an underwater facility. He had never known such a place existed. The walls to the outside were mostly made of glass, allowing a view of the ocean and the life in it. If it broke, they’d all die.
‘This is where my new project takes place,’ Charles explained. ‘There’s nothing to be afraid of, darling.’
‘What is your new project?’ Alastair asked.
Charles had mentioned it often over the past weeks, and it was clear he’d been very excited about it, yet he hadn’t told Alastair what kind of project it was, nor why it was so important to him that Alastair came with him.
‘You’ll see. It is very important to me, and I expect your cooperation.’
Alastair was getting frustrated with these non answers but he knew he couldn’t let that show. He couldn’t pick a fight, not here. He took in a deep breathe and followed Charles. Perhaps it wasn’t so bad. Perhaps, for once, he could be what Charles needed from him.
A young man greeted him. ‘Dr. Blackthorn isn’t here today, but she’s made full preparations for the first phase of the project. She’s very excited about the test subject.’
‘Test subject?’ Alastair asked carefully.
‘Oh, I’m sorry,’ the man said. ‘She’s excited about you, of course. Your powers are fascinating indeed, and there are so many potential uses for it. Far more than we believe you’ve explored so far. We’re going to help you unlock your real potential.’
The man led them to a lab and gestured at him to sit down in a chair. ‘I’m going to put on the electrodes now.’
‘You’re going to do what?’
‘The electrodes,’ the man repeated. ‘For the reading.’
The man didn’t wait for Alastair to respond, just starting putting patches on his head. Alastair didn’t think, he just ripped them off and before anyone could do anything he ran off. He needed to get out of here. He needed to go home. He had no idea where he’d come from nor where he was going, it was a maze. He found a glass wall that looked out into the ocean, and then he remembered. There was no way out. There was nowhere for him to go, he was trapped in here.
A firm hand grabbed his upper arm, pulling him back. Alastair flinched, it hurt. He turned around to meet Charles’ eyes.
‘Didn’t I just tell you how important this project is? What do you think you’re doing?’
‘I don’t want to do this,’ Alastair said. ‘Please, I want to go home.’
Charles shoved him against the glass wall with all the force he had and for a moment Alastair worried the glass was going to break and ocean water would come rushing in. Nothing happened, except the pain in the back of his head, his shoulders. Charles looked like he wasn’t finished, angry until a few moments later a calm seemed to wash over him. His moods had always been changeable like this.
‘I’m sorry, darling. Why can’t you just do this one thing? Why can’t you see how important this is to me?’
‘How would I know?’ Alastair hissed. He knew he shouldn’t raise his voice, he knew he shouldn’t get mad, but he couldn’t stop it. ‘You haven’t told me a single thing about this project. I have no idea what’s going on, why we’re here. I don’t want to participate in experiments. I don’t want people messing with my memory. And I would have told you long before we’d gotten here if you hadn’t kept it all from me.’
He heard a voice, someone yelling his name, and a moment later it wasn’t just him and Charles in the corner. For a moment, nothing made sense. What was Cordelia doing here, how was she even on Fair? She was accompanied by Lucie Herondale and Thomas Lightwood.
Cordelia pulled Charles away from him and threw him onto the ground.
‘Layla, stop!’ Alastair managed to say. ‘Don’t hurt him.’
‘Alastair, listen to me. You’re safe,’ Thomas said. ‘He can’t hurt you anymore. This isn’t real, this is just a memory.’
Just a memory… Of course, it was just a memory. The thing he’d been trying to remember for so long. This wasn’t his life anymore. Charles was gone, and he was married to Thomas.
‘I want to get out of here,’ Alastair said.
‘I don’t know how to do that,’ Thomas said. ‘It’s your power.’
‘Didn’t you just enter this memory?’
‘No, I thought you did that. I thought you needed help. Try to picture the forest, okay?’
Alastair tried not to look at the scene in front of him, of Cordelia shouting at Charles. There was so much she’d never gotten to say to him, and for Cordelia this was her chance. They couldn’t yell at real Charles anymore, but they could yell at a memory of him. He hoped it helped Cordelia feel better. He hated that they were here. Exactly how much had they witnessed? He’d never wanted anyone to see him like this, it was bad enough that they knew.
He closed his eyed and pictured the forest. It wasn’t difficult to bring to mind, he’d spend a lot of time taking in the details. The red colored leaves, the soft breeze. This wasn’t real, Alastair told himself. The forest was. The scent of autumn, something he had never smelled so strongly before. The sound of leaves underneath his feet, the feel of stepping into them.
He opened his eyes to the forest, shaking on his feet. Thomas was holding on to him, keeping him safe, and Alastair leaned into his embrace. He’d been longing to be held by Thomas for some time, he just wished that could have happened without having a flashback first.
‘Do you want to return home?’ Thomas asked.
‘I think so,’ Alastair managed to say.
He didn’t know what he wanted, exactly. He always felt so exhausted after a flashback, but he didn’t know if resting the rest of the day was the best way to deal with it.
‘It’s real,’ Alastair said. ‘The experiments, Charles’ involvement, all of it. It really happened.’
‘What happened? Did you learn anything about what the experiments were for?’ Cordelia asked.
‘Charles was very vague about it. He took me out onto the ocean without me knowing what was going on and then he suddenly said he needed me for the project and I needed to cooperate. And there was this lab guy, I don’t recognize him, and he didn’t care at all that I didn’t want this. He put electrodes on my head, so I imagine it must have been something like Christopher’s machine. I ran away, but of course there was nowhere to go. What are we going to do now? I know we should show Charlotte, but how am I supposed to tell her what her son was really like?’

rya samson 〄 19, hillman university sophomore
a real, true, city girl, rya is the definition of 'if i gotta ask somebody else to do it, imma just do it'. born in san myshuno, rya immediately entered the foster care system. she didn't have any relatives to take her in, so, she bounced from home to home, never really having someone to call mom or dad. she returned to the system at 9, and stayed in it until she graduated high school at 18. while in the system, she kept her focus on the books (and occasionally girls), so that she could go to school on something close enough to a full-ride.
currently majoring in veterinary medicine, rya hopes to open her own vet clinic or emergency hospital. while staying at lennox's house over the summer, she was able to intern at the emergency vet in brindleton bay. throughout her entire time in the foster home, there was a dog she lived in that always gravitated towards her; when he passed away, she vowed to make sure that the next generation of animals she encountered were given just as much love and care. her freshman year she danced for the basketball dance team, but decided to stop to focus on school for the next semester since she has a myriad of labs she needs to get through.
she had an immediate liking to lennox, after finding out that they were each other's roommates that had been scouring social media to find. they'd met at orientation, and have been inseparable ever since; which, speaking of lennox, after alex found out about her upbringing, he unofficially, officially adopted rya. he is on her emergency contacts, he's who she called when she went cross country from brindleton bay to del sol valley and got a flat tire, and he's who helps feed her (and lennox) when their funds are running low at school. she met taylor and sage through lennox, but does have her own separate group of friends from them -- even though she spends most of her time with them.
〄 she is a virgo, and will not let you forget it. 〄 she is right handed. 〄 she loves girls who loves girls; duh. 〄 she has two nicknames; ry and rye bread, given to her by alex. 〄 everyone calls her the animal whisperer, since she makes friends with every animal she's introduced herself to. 〄 because she doesn't have any parents, she calls herself 'little orphan annie', much to the dismay of literally everyone around her. 〄 she loves the color pink, even though you will see her wear a lot of black. 〄 she is the only one out of the friend group who sees a therapist on a consistent basis. 〄 she wants to continue dancing, but doesn't know how to balance it with all her classes. 〄 she is usually very hard on the outside and some tend to think she is very stuck up, but when they fully get to know her, they find that she is very sweet and easy to get along with. 〄 she and lennox call each other official-unofficial sisters; to the point where alex is thinking of buying a new house so that rya doesn't have to sleep in the same bed as lennox anymore when they come home for break. 〄 she has a 'do it yourself' mentality; rya believes very little things are impossible, and to not rely on someone else to do it for you, when you can just do it yourself. 〄 she cannot cook and please don't let her convince you that she can.
