It always hurts so much that Nai holds out his hand.
He doesn't have to. Hell, he lands and starts having an evil laughing monologue about how he's happy that Rem died with the ship.
But if that was true, he wouldn't have reached out. He wouldn't have offered.
He's just a hurt, terrified child.

You see an exhausted man with anger issues and a side of spicy trauma and think "I can fix him".
I see him and think "now there's a babygirl that will commit atrocities with me".
We are not the same

okay but force ghost google (fggoogle) having to draw straws on who has to answer Lukes nebulous force question of the week
alternatively they just get anakin to do it every time because "your son, luke is. therefore your problem, he should be"

shoutout to selfshippers with female f/os who are unjustly hated in fandom. because they "get in the way" of a popular ship, because they're "too mean," because they're villains or morally gray or just dare to do anything that inconveniences the protagonist. because they're rude, or not feminine enough, or feminine in the "wrong" way. because they fuck up and don't spend the rest of their life groveling at the feet of everyone in their life for daring to not be perfect all the time. your understanding, respect and love for them mean more than any of the crap other people say about them, and you fit with them perfectly. your ability to see past bad-faith and often downright misogynistic criticism is just more evidence of how perfect you are for them.
proship‏‏‎ ‎this is not for you. + this is not about bigots or sexual predators. that hatred is in no way unwarranted.

Something something luke's mind is so powerful he pulled the moon down and shoved it back into place and was fine, he helped turn off the sun because he thought it was a science club exercise. I am Everyone. Something something his mind is so inconceivable he was able to yell at a monster across dimensions, was able to pull his friends through the walls of a different reality, was so so powerful and so so scared that he gave a noncorporeal psychic alien physical form without even meaning to. Do you think aliens learn to run instead of scaring luke smith. He ran the risk of feeding earth's entire population to an alien just to save his mum. He needs to be alone, to be scared he has to be alone. Mind reading/erasing technology doesn't even work on him, his latent psychic power is literally unquantifiable. You made the monster real luke. He talked a bomb out of going off. He learned and coded in a completely new language in under thirty seconds, he has a perfect memory, he can never forget anything. His worst fear was being replaced and it happened but it was okay, right? Come back and face me! Please don't leave me alone. His centre of the universe died and he works in the organisation she did everything she could to avoid. What did luke get in the will. He macduff-ed his way into killing a guy because according to the stars, he doesn't exist. He's human, technically. Brilliant brilliant brilliant, you think he ever gets sick of it? Just another way to say different. He doesn't dream but he hallucinated the woman who created him, his teeth don't decay, his body will never rot. If the show was realistic he wouldn't have been made to last. He killed people and almost died the day he was born. He was born running and never stopped, because what will be there when he looks back. He has a husband but doesn't talk to his friends. He has a metal dog. I thought it would get easier, but there are always new things coming along to make me feel different.

i think my biggest gripe with the comparison between zuko and john smith and zutara as a whole to pocahontas is that john smith was an active colonizer. he was a grown man who chose and was proud of what he was doing. he didnt even believe the act of colonization was wrong. yes, he tried to end the violence in the movie, but he still lived with the belief that his people deserved to and were entitled to co exist on that land with the indigenous people.
zuko was an active participant in dismantling a hundred years of colonialism and colonization and genuinely wanted to fix the problems that his ancestors had left for him. it wasn’t easy and he wasn’t a perfect leader, but he was genuinely trying to make decisions that would be for the better of all the people, not just himself or his people. where john smith thought that indigenous ppl needed the white people’s help to become “more civilized” because he viewed them as inferior, zuko sought to give those that the fire nation had hurt their autonomy back.
that’s not to say that it isn’t a valid reason to dislike zutara, and if the idea makes you uncomfortable that’s fine and i respect it. i realize that the ship doesn’t appeal to everyone and that’s okay, but i just hate the comparisons because john smith was genuinely just an awful person who never should’ve been glorified in a disney movie.

Behind the scenes, American officials also believe there is limited time for Israel to try to accomplish its stated objective of taking out Hamas in its current operation before uproar over the humanitarian suffering and civilian casualties – and calls for a ceasefire – reaches a tipping point. In fact, there is recognition within the administration that that moment may arrive quickly: Some of the president’s close advisers believe that there are only weeks, not months, until rebuffing the pressure on the US government to publicly call for a ceasefire becomes untenable, sources told CNN.
A lot of this pressure — the majority, I would wager — that Biden and US national leaders are getting is the result of people calling their reps, attending protests, writing to their newspapers and generally making themselves heard on this issue. People make a difference, and it's always worth reaching out to your legislators and telling them what you think.
Senators' info is pretty easy to find, since you've got two for every state (even DC and other non-state people have someone they can call!) but sometimes it's a little tricky remembering who your representative is, especially now with the district lines having changed up. So check your address here and then call their office — I've found more luck getting hold of an actual person at their local offices rather than the DC one, fwiw.

Ppffftttt— I’m sorry, did you say the UNITED STATES is now telling other countries to USE THEIR POLITICAL LEVERAGE to reduce conflict??
Brilliant. What an original idea. I’d guess they all told Blinken EXACTLY where he can go.

I haven’t watched ashoka yet because I never watched the clone wars but I’m thinking of the obi wan Kenobi show and thinking about the fact that after years these two men still had a force bond connection strong enough to not only feel each others pain but WRITHER in each others pain, that even though Anakin Skywalker was buried deep beneath pain and manipulation he still came out to comfort Obi Wan, telling him “you didn’t kill Anakin Skywalker, I did.” And giving him the strength to let go of his grief and failure because he loved obi wan so much.
That because Anakin felt and loved padme and obi wan and his mother so much it became his downfall and yet it was also what brought him back to the light, that obi wan accepted him without qualms when he entered Jedi heaven.
How anakin was always the chosen one and how he could never fulfill his prophecy because the very thing that would have saved them all the Jedi counsel destoryed.
