Note
Hi Corey!!
6 (tlok), 8 (atla), and 18 (tlok, atla) for the fandom ask game <3
6: if you could be friends with one (1) character from tlok who would it be?
ooooooo frick this is hard ahhhhhh okay wait no duh: PEMA !!! i love her. so much. she is SO underrated and she's doing so much for everyone !!! i just think that pema deserves better from the fandom and deserved more recognition for everything she did on the show in canon <3
8: least favorite ship from atla
oh gosh ummmm... so like. aside from the pedophillic and incest ones ummmmmm i really dislike z.tara, obviously. i also dislike toph x sokka because i just... no. oh and i dislike jetko but that is mostly for fandom reasons <3 as in, the amount of abusive jet and uwu poor lil baby zuko just needs constant protecting from jet who's bigger and stronger (literally he ISN'T but whatever lol) just. ruined it for me lol. and i know that not everyone wrote them like that, but enough people did to make me hate it lol. like,,, they've definitely kissed--i'm not denying that. just. them actually being a couple is... no.
18: brotp from tlok
oh gosh ummmmm... ngl, i am a bolin and varrick brotp. i thought they were very funny but like... wAIT NO okay hear me out: bumi ii and izumi. they are BESTIES. i know it's not canon but idc it's canon to me: i know this, they told me.
18: brotp from atla
ahhhhhhhhh i hate this this is so hard ummm omg omg omg... i mean, sokka and aang is definitely one, frick katara and toph and katara and zuko are brotps... those would probably be my top three??? but like... in no particular order... frick, sokka and toph is also a great friendship ahhhhhhhhhhhh

Personally I find it really funny that based on what the twins said in the Book 2 finale re: having to tell their mom about what happened to Unalaq, it's literally canon that Unalaq's wife a) exists, b) is alive, and c) is just chilling in the Northern Water Tribe
She took one look at all the spirit fuckery her husband was getting up to and went "Well that's none of my business" and honestly I respect that
#oh and when I say spirit fuckery I mean it in both the literal and metaphorical sense. blame kat's latest raava and vaatu fic#yeah I'm just gonna start posting random LoK opinions on here now. this blog's been dead long enough#not really an incorrect quotes girly anymore sorry#not even a girl anymore. but you know#most of my red lotus and oc posting will remain on my personal blog though bc no one wants to see that#anyway. yes. Unalaq's wife. when I say the avatar franchise has a mom problem this is exactly what I mean#80% of characters don't have a mom. the moms that are alive either have little to no screen time or mentions#or they're basically Schroedinger's mom in the sense that they exist but not really#the exceptions being like. pema and suyin. and maybe senna though she also has very little screentime#my point is. the twins are younger than korra. I know avatarverse has a precedent for putting kids on the throne. looking at you zuko#but really we should have gotten unalaq's wife as chief of the nwt#introduced her in book 3 during the lead up to p'li's prison break#but that's just my objectively correct opinion#northern water tribe chief raspberry when#(according to avatar wiki her name is malina so I've been calling her raspberry in my head ever since I found out#malina means raspberry in russian that's why. probably in a bunch of other slavic languages too idk I'm not an expert#and she shares a name with katara and sokka's weird white stepmom from the comics which no sane person considers canon. so that's fun)#the legend of korra#unalaq

YES. And inversely; Lin watching the kids so Tenzin and Pema can have a date night, and Lin taking the kids out into the city for some fun in the park and a mover!
Master Jinora takes her babysitting responsibilities VERY seriously. The kids are in good hands.
Pema and Lin dates usually involve ice cream, holding hands, and taking Oogi on little rides to find romantic moon-lit spots.
Lin and Tenzin dates usually involve dinner, pro bending matches, and volunteer work (sorry but they're both dorks).
All three of them going on a date involves dinner and a stroll. They walk around hand in hand in hand and switch out who goes in the middle unless Lin has had something to drink then she exclusively goes in the middle because they both like how handsy she gets, and they know that she likes to feel safe between them. The night typically ends back on Air Temple Island. Tenzin will lift them up to sit on rooftops and in towers where they typically can't reach. They sit and talk for hours while snuggling and kissing and fucking.

🎸 - Can your muse play any instruments? Do they play them often, or rarely? How actually skilled are they at playing them?
// Pema can play the box kalimba. She's not a professional or anything, but if you hear sweet, soft, sad notes reverberating through the courtyard on Air Temple Island. You bet you'll find Pema sitting up against the base of a tree, kalimba in her lap, with a strangely sad smile on her face.

The ranking is beneath the cut. Quick note that this ranking is shaky at best and its more of a silly little thing besed around the percentages.

23. Firelord Izumi
22. Toph Beifong
21. Suyin Beifong
20. Ming Hua
19. Eska | Ursa [tied]

7. Lin Beifong*
6. Avatar Kyoshi
5. Katara
4. Suki *
3. Rangi
2. Kya II
1. Avatar Korra
*suki and Lin's places are even more shaky, as their poll was... messy.
Well this has been a fascinating and riveting experience. Don't know if I'll make another poll, but if there's such interest, i suppose i may.

Am back! :D
Omg guys! Almost forgot I had this ((joking)) but nah seriously! It had been years since I've posted anything here! 💀
Anyways imma go back to my roots!! Y'all remember the days of Legend of Korra where I've only simped for Lin Beifong? 👀 But I've found a new lady, well not really but I've got a new love!!
So y'all remember (if not don't worry about it) the whole genderbent au thing I've created and it was female Tenzin and male Lin and stuff like that? Well I've got some stuff for y'all!
So first and foremost, this is Tenna. She is genderbent Tenzin (female Tenzin). She is literally so hot and I cannot stop drawing her! Currently working on the backstory and this will be nothing like tLoK, actually it will in some places but yes! A lot will be changed!
But look at her! She's gorgeous! 🥺 Also I just wanted to show y'all my improvement of art over the years! QwQ it has improved so much and I'm so proud! Anyways I'll stop rambling and let ya get to the photo!
Tenna: 55 years old
Tumblr media
Tenna in swimsuit enjoy 🗿
Tumblr media
Side note: Tell me this isn't the most Tenzin expression ever xD
Tumblr media
Anyways, my thoughts are simple. Make hot women. :D I am smooth brained and frankly I've been a simp for my genderbent Tenzin for years.
I wanted to update her concept instead of the one I've created years ago (plz forget that 💀) and frankly I love this version better. She looks kind, soft, hot, and first and foremost Tenzin-ish.
What I have for her so far:
She is 51-50 just like Tenzin in tLoK
She has one confirmed boy that I've come up with and one confirmed girl.
Their names are Jin (Jinora) and Ming (Meelo). I haven't come up with anything else for the kids as of yet.
She is pansexual. No discussion on this xD
She is currently in a relationship with Peng (Pema). But ma'am is known to wander around.
Tenna is also more in tune with her nomadic life style instead of the whole business stuff.
Tenna left RC at the ripe age of 16, leaving Ling (Lin) in the process but no hate. It was a mutual break up. Ling wanted to keep RC safe and promised Tenna that everything would still be up and running whenever she wanted to settle down.
Tenna fell in love with an air acolyte (whom I haven't decided to name as of yet) and stayed there for a year before the world called for her once more. It was a short but painful romance, one that Tenna often thinks about.
Once she was back on the road she fell in love with a non bender (Not Peng yet), got pregnant and went to RC for Air Temple Island. She stayed on the island for a few years raising her newborn son Jin.
Ling helped with all he could, being there for Tenna, taking care of her and feeding her and dealing with her grumpiness. He took care of her and once the baby was born, Ling knew he would protect the child as if he were the one to help make the baby.
Tenna couldn't have thanked Ling enough and felt horrible she was "holding him back" from finding his true love. Ling wanted to confess right then and there that he loved her but knew it wasn't the right time.
During the time of the whole pregnancy and the raising of Jin, Ling and Tenna fell into a romance. Stealing kisses, sharing deep secrets, touches that crossed the very thin line of friendship.
It wasn't until Jin started talking and walking that Tenna thought it would be a great time to start exploring the world. Jin barely being the age of 3 or 4. Ling confessed to her that he loves her and that she wished she'd stay for him but told her it was a selfish request. He instead kissed her goodbye and told her to look at the Northern Lights for her on one of her trips. Tenna never felt such sadness and sorrow but she promised to keep in touch. She watched as Ling got smaller and smaller as the boat began to leave the harbor and leave behind her very best friend and lover.
Sorry friends but this is where imma stop it before I bore you! Let me know if you want more Headcanons or if you want more art of this fine wine of a milf!
Send me asks, or ask simply in the comments or Dms about any of this au. I'm happy to reply and I'm excited to say that I'll be posting here regularly soon! And you know of course that there's gonna be more Lin Beifong art so prepare yourselves!
As usual, all art belongs to me. If reposted please credit. Thank you!

Aang actually *was* a Terrible Dad (and we should stop making excuses for him).
One thing I cannot get over is how people say that Aang actually wasn't that terrible of a father, and I keep hearing the same excuses to his behavior: he didn't grow up with conventional parents, he had to focus on bringing back his air-bending culture, Katara was already a natural parent and was totally okay being the housewife/mom who let Aang off the hook with most of the serious parenting duties... ugh....
Anyway, I have three points to give:
1) Aang may not have grown up with conventional family structure, but he certainly knew enough about the world (being a nomad his whole life pre-war) to understand what a healthy family dynamic looked like. He knew enough about Toph's dad and Zuko's dad to understand what a poor father figure looked like. Aang also spent time with Hakoda, in ATLA season 3, to see the characteristics of a good father -- and this doesn't even include the time he spent traveling with Sokka/Katara alone and noticing how their dad's absence was affecting them. I put a lot of emphasis on Katara, here, because she makes it very clear in Season 3 that her father leaving the family was devastating... and this girl would want a partner who understood those feelings and do absolutely everything to keep the family together. It's what she did throughout the entirety of ATLA-- Katara was the glue that kept everyone close -- and you would think Aang would pick up on those cues, rather than let history repeat itself after he had his family with Katara. Imagine how awful it must've been for Katara, watching the man she married ultimately go off with their air-bending son on these cultural excursions, and not even consider that their two other kids might want to learn about air bending culture anyway. They're a bi-cultural family, after all, right? Wouldn't that have been a prime example for the new world, showing a blended family being together and not separate? Just let that sink in for a moment.
2) Many people say that any misunderstood family dynamics between Kya, Bumi and Tenzin came to a peaceful conclusion in LOK season 2 with a happy family portrait. Here's the thing-- a posed, smiling family portrait doesn't necessarily indicate a healthy family unit. I'm also making note of LOK Season 3, when Bumi admits that he finally feels more connected to their father after he magically gets Airbending, and also that scene when Kya/Bumi arrive to the Northern Air Temple and the acolytes are shocked to hear that Avatar Aang had other children besides Tenzin. I mean... how much effort would it take, exactly, for Aang to just mention to the temple monks and acolytes that he had two other kids? Was he embarrassed to tell them they weren't air benders? Was he ashamed? In any case, he was the Avatar and he should've demonstrated pride for the children he had regardless of their bending ability or lack their-of. It goes without saying that, while Aang did grow up differently and had many priorities being the Avatar and the Last Airbender... he still made some conscious choices about how little of a "family man" he wanted to be. Aang clearly favored the air-bending life and didn't process that he was also raising a family that was part WaterTribe (perhaps because many of their customs clashed with his air-bending way of life... but that's another conversation.)
3) Yes, Bryke are notorious for writing examples of poor father figures (Ozai/Unalaq/BeiFong/Yakone/Hiroshi) and I'm also here to tell you that they're known for writing women who lose agency and turn devoted-doting-domestic-docile once they get with their man. Pema from LOK is a good example-- all we know about her is she literally gave her life to be an air-acolyte and carry Tenzin's children (the only backstory we get is Pema secretly pined for Tenzin until it became too much and she had to say something), and be the good housewife and mother to those air bending kids. We know nothing about this woman's individual wants or needs outside of motherhood. Another example is the backstory of Yakone and his unnamed wife who-- after giving this man two sons, completely disappears from the narrative and is not aware Yakone is abusing his kids. And she's still exists, because Amon refuses to go with Noatak so as to not abandon their mom. Their mother was so unnecessary as a character after she had the kids, she became this oblivious/silent character in the background who let her own kids get abused. Another example is Unalaq's wife-- again, about a father using his two kids like his henchmen and the mother isn't even in the picture. We know she exists because after Unalaq gets destroyed... Esna turns to Desca and says "what're we gonna tell Mother?"  It may have been written as a subtle joke... but the underlying sentiment is still there.
I'd say my favorite example is the fate of Fire Lady Ursa-- a woman once determined to protect her children that she was willing to commit murder and treason -- ends up choosing to forget those same children and instead wipes all her memories of them entirely to start a quiet domestic life with her childhood sweetheart, a man who very much knows the life Ursa left behind and has the power to decide what truths he wants to tell her about the world and live like there wasn't even a bloody war happening. (Don't even get me started on how The Search disappointed me. Oy).
Perhaps Aang and Katara -- even without intent -- might have fallen into that formulaic pattern when Bryke wrote out the first two seasons of LOK, because that was during the time The Promise, The Search and The Rift comics got published, and Katara's character was definitely becoming that unquestionably-loyal/no fuss/devoted girlfriend to Aang where she would go with everything he decided and sadly sit in a corner while Aang got all the praise and attention and never considering her feelings. Bryke picked up on these mistakes, however, because in the later comics like North & South and Imbalance, you can see them giving Katara some leadership moments (particularly when Aang isn't around) and Aang more of a mature, considerate approach with Katara, saying things like "I'm sorry I just left you to fight alone like that!" and "You're always asking me if I'm okay. Now it's my turn-- are you okay?"  The effort was definitely there to make Aang and Katara look somewhat more compatible than they let on. But things didn't really seem that promising in Legend of Korra... as Katara's character arc gets breadcrumbs of acknowledgement regarding what she did for the world outside of Aang's narrative.
It seems like Katara's badass individual characteristics were written second only to whatever she needed to be for Aang, including being the primary parent to his non-airbender kids while he focused on the air-bending culture.
In any case-- I'm almost certain Bryke will be bending over backwards to "fix" all of these flawed elements of Kataang and Aang as a father figure in the upcoming animated feature films, because if there's anything Bryke likes to do... it is "tell" us that Aang was a great guy and there absolutely was no other better person for Katara.

tell us about the tlok gen 2 kids
ask and you shall receive!!!! making fankids is such an obsession of mine lol
so i have futures and kids planned out for pretty much everyone, but i'll just go over the main krew ships + kainora for now. and i'll try to keep it kind of brief but i have So Many thoughts about them so we'll see if i'm successful. i have like. an entire labelled timeline. it's wild
under a cut because this got so long holy crap
the easiest to start with is the bopal kids. they get married a couple years after the end of tlok and start having kids pretty soon after. they end up with four kids (somewhat considering adding a fifth but we'll see. there's already so many ocs)
their eldest is jade, who is an earthbender. then they have a pair of identical twin boys, named san and goji. san is named after bolin's father. san is an airbender, goji is an earthbender. their fourth child is a girl named tempa, who is an airbender. she actually ends up becoming blind later in life. not whatever toph had, as she was born seeing, but she had some degenerative disease that slowly took her eyesight. she actually ends up developing a technique similar to seismic sense, but with airbending, to help her get around! she keeps her head fully shaved so she can always feel vibrations in the air
the next up to have kids is, surprisingly, kai and jinora. this was not intentional on their part. but they've been dating since they were like 12-13, so i honestly don't think it's much of a stretch that they would end up becoming parents as teenagers. pema and tenzin are a bit upset that their daughter got pregnant at 17, but at this point they've accepted kai into the family, and they respect the young couple's decision to keep and raise the baby
and then after they have their first baby, they decide that they're going to hold off on getting married until their family is complete, so all their kids can be a part of the wedding. like bolin and opal, they end up having four kids as well. all of them are airbenders. their first born is a boy named sangye, second is another boy named tadashi, third is a girl named zaya, and fourth is a girl named tara. it's the jinora and tenzin parallels for me lol. two boys, two girls, four airbenders. despite their young age they are very good parents
then we have the korrasami babies. they have the smallest family, with just two kids. i did some research and as it turns out, sperm donation/artificial insemination procedures were a thing in the 1920s. of course they were WILDLY unethical at the time but hey, they did exist. this is how they end up with their kids. mako is the donor, which i know some people may find that weird but mako is their best friend, i feel like they would rather have a donor that they know and trust than just. some random guy
korra is pregnant with their first baby, who they name katara. she's a waterbender. asami is pregnant with their second baby, a little boy they name hiro, after asami's dad. hiro is a nonbender. they are literally the best moms ever <3
and last but not least, we have wuko's kids. for the longest time they are the cool, childless gay uncles. i think they're both really good with kids, but neither are ready to be parents for a long time. not to mention in my timeline it takes a solid ten years for wu to get the new democratic earth kingdom up and running smoothly enough that he can abdicate. and even after he abdicates and he and mako get married, they're still unsure about kids for a few more years. when they do decide to have kids, they both for sure want to adopt. i have a whole separate post i could make about mako quitting the police force to become a social worker and opening up a youth shelter. but he knows he wants to help out kids, so hopefully none suffer the way he and bolin did. wu does not want to have any bio kids, as he wants the royal bloodline to end with him so there is no possible claim to any kind of throne
but then korra and asami are like 'hey, if you guys want a baby, we're cool with helping out' because i mean mako already helped them have their family, they can do the same for him and wu. and since they're offering, mako and wu decide to take them up on it. korra ends up being a surrogate for them, and they welcome a little baby girl that they name naoki, for mako's mom
then, soon after naoki is born, they end up finding a trio of very young sisters out on the streets. their mother passed away, their father walked out on them, and they have no other family. the eldest girl is only 8 years old. when mako meets her it feels like he's looking into a window at his past self. the girls are very frightened, but mako and wu are able to earn their trust enough to help them out. and in the process of caring for them, they end up totally falling in love with these kids. they ask them if they want to be adopted. all three say yes
the girls are named kasumi, ryoko, and hikari. all three are firebenders. naoki also ends up being a firebender. there's so many firebenders in the wuko house. i'm also spreading my girldad mako agenda. him and wu taking these girls in and giving them a family is actually super emotionally healing for him. he's able to make sure another set of siblings out on the steet has a family
anyway that's a very basic rundown!! i love chatting about my next gen kiddos so so much so thanks for asking! and of course if anyone has any questions about specific kids or families please feel free to ask!!!

I have a question if it’s alright? Personally what do you think happened to Lin after Amon took her bending? Cause I doubt he would have just let her walk free bending or not. Cause like near the end she just pops back up. No escape scene or anything if Amon did imprison her.
*Looks at entire blog* uh yeah... I might have a few thoughts lmao <3
It is Perfectly Alright!!! I will always always enjoy any excuse to talk about After/During Amon shit yessssss
I have a few fics up about this! up on my Ao3, MIND THE TW TAGS I BEG YOU.
I have an OLD one about if Lin got off the island and how she tried to support the Krew and keep out of their way.
i have another idea where she was held in the cells pema and the kids were shoved into in later so she knew she failed to protect them after all.
I have another idea where shes held in a wooden cage in the Sato workshop so she could see the planes and machines being built but couldnt reach them.
I have the more recent fic about her being tortured for the days leading up to the rally. but she is uh, barely alive and that is not really canon compliant with the unexplained scene of Lin on the docks.
so if you're looking for a fully canon compliant take...
Amon did not let her off the island, they probably held her in that cell that they have in the ATI attic (for some reason?) she would have tortured for information, where the air fam was headed, where the Avatar was, ect. she would have been there when Tarrlok was tossed in, but I think maybe she was dragged out to the arena to be apart of the rally as a display of all the trophies Amon's collected the bending of. So no one knew where she was but she was probably with a bunch of other captives so she was found when the police cleared the building. So for keeping it canon compliant then any injuries would have been healed up with a healing sesh. (or she was hiding her injuries rather well)
as an aside, in the south
As to why Lin was there, I think Katara would have tried bloodbending to undo the damage bloodbending did. Lin allowed Katara to try several times on herself with no success.
I also fully believe Korra took Lin into the Avatar state with her so she could see Aang again and he could thank her and say he loved her and was proud of her and Aang could restore Lin's element to her.

Legend of Korra Really Doesn't Want Asami To Eat
A friend and myself were going through the show, and we realized that the show doesn't ever reveal Asami eating. She seems to subsist on tea alone, while her friends and found family eat around her. In Book 1, she and Mako do not eat anything on their date. Asami does sip her tea. When Korra is rescued from Tarrlok, Korra devours her food, and Asami is at the table with her, but she has no food in front of her. She goes with Pema to wash dishes.
When in the sewers, she spits out the dumpster food and gives it to Pabu. In Book 2, Asami is not at the feast nor is she shown eating any snacks offered by Bolin or Varrick. She doesn't eat anything in Republic City despite there being at least one potential meal scene. In Book 3, we start off with Korra and Asami doing things together and Asami supporting her at Korra's press conference. They return to Air Temple Island, where Tenzin and his family are eating. Korra sits down to join them, but Asami stands there in the doorway awkwardly. She doesn't join them, and no one calls her over. Little to no food is shown on the airship journey. In Ba Sing Se, there is some food shown, but Asami is either not present for it, or again doesn't eat it. In Zaofu, she is at the dinner table with everyone else and there is indeed food in front of her. Others show signs of the food on their plates being eaten or touched, but Asami's plate is untouched. Again, she only sips her tea or tests Varrick's terrible detect-air-bender device. In Book 4, she is seen offering Korra tea, but if there is any food scenes (hardly any), Asami is either not present or she does not eat while everyone else does.
She is seen at a table but only has tea while others have food. In the Comics, we once again never see Asami eat. Korra does eat at one point -- see Ruins of Empire when she eats snacks offered by Bolin during the briefing with Wu and President Moon. Asami only sips tea. So the conclusion (edited in to add that this conclusion is partly tongue in cheek): The writers have a vendetta against Asami eating. Therefore, I proclaim that Asami deserves food! LET ASAMI EAT. Raise your voices with me! LET ASAMI EAT.
Now on a more serious note (edited for clarity on definitions):
Disordered eating and anorexia is very unhealthy, and sure, I can't say for certain if Asami is anorexic or not. Disordered eating on the other hand is when one's eating habits are not consistent and not as nutritious as they need to be, which would fit with the consistent pattern of not showing Asami as eating.
I struggle with this too, and watching Asami in the show and comics not eat at all while her friends and found family do? That was pretty triggering for me, and had me legit worried. Like, why does everyone else have at last one meal where they are shown putting food in their mouth or shown with a half-eaten plate of food, but Asami doesn't get that? Even Mako and Zhu Li gets a moment to eat.
(Edit: To be this consistent with such a trait, requires conscious decisions; if it was once or twice, it'd be insignificant of a pattern, but for it to happen numerous times each season, the pattern is consistent and frequent enough to be significant. It is very hard to accidentally create a character trait that is very consistent across four seasons.) It's bothered me so much that I wrote about it in my fanfiction, where she struggles with her disordered eating and remembering to eat. It helped me feel better and validate my own struggle with eating disorders. (EDIT: A lot of fanfics writers and artists write her as forgetting to eat due to being caught up in work, so numerous people have caught on to this consistent trait to the point they include it in their own fics.)
It just makes me sad to see that, especially the Book three scene where Korra and Tenzin's family FAIL to invite Asami -- who has done so much for all of them, especially as she saved Tenzin's life twice and Korra's at least once -- to the table to eat with them. This shows a callous disregard for her by those characters, which was a little unnerving to see.
Asami's only family is Korra and the brothers. She's lost everything else, and her company can't fill the role of family. And yet, they keep neglecting her. Korra doesn't start to really include her until after Zaheer, despite Asami being 1000% at her side and always saying yes to everything Korra needed. (Asami was so in love with her from when she first met Korra, let's be honest. All their scenes together are very gay). So despite Asami's total loyalty, she's treated more like an emotional-support-nonbender for the team.
Despite the fact she can take down people on motorcycles and large mech tanks.
Asami is an excellent fighter in her own right. Genius inventor. Caring person with a heart bent toward justice.
And yet, and yet, she's so underutilized, her complex backstory mostly off screen, and when on screen, she's on the edge of everything.
When I examined transcripts for Book 3, I kept finding scenes where they would write a description of the scene. Asami was listed with Naga and Pabu most of the time. For example: Asami, Naga, and Pabu are on the edge of the scene, looking on.
This utterly baffled me, and coupled with the fact she isn't shown eating, it makes me wonder about if she struggled with whether she belonged or not. Because Korra, Mako, and Bolin sort of sucked at being present for her, despite her tripping over backward to be there for them.
Asami Sato is incredibly loyal, and she honestly deserved so much better than what she was given in the storylines of the show and the comics. Her and Korra being together canonically is awesome, and sure, Korra is better at being attentive to Asami and her needs, but there's that imbalance of Asami still going out of her way to be present for Korra no matter what.
I wish the Bryke and his team would let someone like me or my fellow fanfic writers who have tackled Asami so well -- write an Asami-centric comic that no only addresses the above, but shows how Asami overcomes her disordered eating, finds belonging in found family, and comes to terms with her intense grief over all that she's lost in her life. That would be such a compelling story, and yet it's so overlooked.
So I wrote it, and so have other fanfic writers. Thank you to all the other fanfic writers who did their best to write Asami and dig into her story in a respectful way.
May Asami be given space to grieve and be able to eat with her found family.

Lin! 3, 5, 21, 22, 23 | Tenzin 5, 21, 22, 23 | Pema 2, 3, 13, 23
Lin: 3. Least favorite canon thing about this character? Oh this is easy, I think. I really hate the fact that she joked about tearing up Air Temple Island after Tenzin broke up with her. I just felt like it was so OOC just for a cheap joke which was actually at her expense. I like the idea that she did tear it up, but I think actually she would not share that story willingly or make a joke about her personal life at work.
5. What's the first song that comes to mind when you think about them? Shake It Out by Florence + The Machine. I think it perfectly encapsulates her entire story arc in the series. 21. If you're a fic writer and have written for this character, what's your favorite thing to do when you're writing for this character? What's something you don't like?
I love to observe Lin in ways we don't typically get to see in the series (ie her personal life- where does she live? what does she do for fun? Who are her friends? does she have friends? is she seeing anyone?) I don't normally like to write action scenes, which I think realistically would occur more often than I personally incorporate. Its something I would like to improve upon, but generally I avoid it. 22. If you're a fic reader, what's something you like in fics when it comes to ths character? Something you don't like? I love anytime Lin is shown appreciation by another character. Hands down. I don't like when it's over the top OR when Lin herself is wildly forthcoming about her feelings. Characters (and Lin) need to work for that! 23. Favorite picture of this character?

I can't pick one, but it's probably between these two. Tenzin: 5. What's the first song that comes to mind when you think about them? Pressure by Billy Joel 21. If you're a fic writer and have written for this character, what's your favorite thing to do when you're writing for this character? What's something you don't like? If there is one character in this universe who is less open about their feelings than Lin Beifong, it's Tenzin. So I like writing fics where he is forced to confront his own emotions. As for what I don't like writing, I get bored writing his relationship to his kids lol. Sorry! It's just that I think it's pretty straightforward.
22. If you're a fic reader, what's something you like in fics when it comes to ths character? Something you don't like?
Absolutely love it in fics when Tenzin is stuck in a situation with his siblings or anyone from his upbringing (Lin especially). I don't like reading fics where he is like madly in love with Pema for obvious reasons, but also bc I think he loves her but he isn't like *in love* with her. 23. Favorite picture of this character?

Dude is in a constant state of acquiescing. Pema: 2. Favorite canon thing about this character? Honestly, her general function in the narrative lol. But also- her audacity should be studied. Oh! And I love that she's still clearly insecure about Lin hahaha. 3. Least favorite canon thing about this character?
Same as above quite frankly. 13. What's an emoji, an emoticon and/or any symbol that reminds you of this character or you think the character would use a lot?
Snake emoji lol 23. Favorite picture of this character?

I hope she's exhausted.
