I've been making the transition these past few months, but I think I'm gonna just move back to Tumblr. My Twitter's follower-base has reached a point where I can't tweet anything casually opinion-related without it overflowing like a toilet. I post a short thread on my gripes with color design in anime and I'm getting QRT'd with "kill this guy with hammers" reaction gifs. Like, damn, this isn't fun anymore. It's not fun to talk about stuff on Twitter in general anymore. I wanted to post some ship dynamic doodles sometime there, but I know I'm gonna get weirdly aggressive takes and reactions. Please, do not romantic my platonic. As an aroace person the way I perceive and experience love is very different from heteronormativity. I just find it so disheartening to like read that oh this friend you talked about definitely has a crush on you because of how touchy they are. Like my years of friendship with this person is just boiled down to romantic interest and to me that's real sad. I get that here in the West we are less touchy with our friends but why should I have to conform to that? Why should you conform to that?

Hug the homies, kiss them goodnight do whatever feels right between the two of you. Relationships do not have to be labeled all the time. It's annoying and frustrating to have people assume that one friend is falling for the other simply because they're comfortable holding hands platonically. aang- second hardest design to ge through. at first i couldn't decide on a species, and then i couldn't get the colors to work. believe it or not, bright yellow right next to bright blue is painful to look at. so instead i opted for an all orange color pallette. does he look like a candy corn? yes. and we love him for it. puny lil candy corn avatar

katara- sweet baby so easy, love her, perfect design, no tears shed except for joy. also GIGANTIC. non negotiable part of her design tbh. and aquatic dino!! spinosaurus was the only choice. the sail is meant to look like her necklace! isnt that cool. im so cool and talented.

sokka- nanuqsaurus is! maybe a cold weather dino. possibly. so we did that. he's smaller than his sister and he's mad about it :) also, him face is warriors paint!! and i know that atla water tribes didn't really have anything to do with orcas, but I love orcas and i wanted to give sokka some recognizably hunter-y pattern. so, orca white markings.

toPH- i am ENDLESSLY SUGFERING. do you know how many times i flip flopped on toph's species. do you understand how many hours i spent debating over the benefits of triceratops vs protoceratops?? ankylosaurus vs. pachysephalosaurus???? my agony is unending. im still unsure. sacrificing the concept that toph could take down a t rex (trike) for the small n unassuming character theme (proto). also the badgermole looking markings are cool i guess

zuko- this is where you pretend that im bot playing favorites when it comes to dino species. why is he a deinonychus? cuz i like big raptors, that's why. go away. dont look at me. he's cute. he looks like a bird and i love that for him. also something something aang and zuko similar species that specialize differently based on how their environments changed them, zuko an echo of the potential of flight and aang an echo of the potential to hunt. flock bird vs pack hunter. same but different.

what do you think about zora design? about past and current designs? how would you change it? actually!!! what are the zora (and other races) like in your sword of fate au???

got distracted by the second question. look at my little guys:

these are some of the current (working) designs!! from left to right it's sheikah, zora, hylian, goron, and gerudo! these aren't necessarily the average builds/designs for each race but they're the most important character from each race lol. sword of fate takes place really early-on in the timeline, so the culture and separation of races is still kind of loose especially among the humanoid races. the current generation of zora is basically the first generation to call themselves zora and attempt to establish a government or hold any authority alongside the other races of hyrule, and because they're kind of a young race i imagine they're less fishy and more invertebrate-like in this stage, hence my jellyfish princess! (her dad is a giant squid lol.) the sheikah are descendants of the original surface humans, whereas the hylians and gerudo are two seperate sects that both originally came from skyloft. the hylians built a few villages which each have their own distinct vibe while the gerudo took a more nomadic approach and roam the desert in small independently governed groups. The gorons are the most well-established race at this point, having been on the surface a lot longer than basically everyone else, and so they have a much stronger culture and shared identity than a lot of the other races that are still kind of getting their footing.

#no rito because sof is like 200-300 years at most after sksw and the idea of bird people existing in such close proximity to horse birds #weirds me out ngl. i think some of the hylians in skyloft village (not actually in the sky but built way up in the mountains to mimic it) #might actually still ride loftwings. havent decided yet. anyway #the sheikah and hylian villages recognize the authority of & are (loosely) governed by the hyrulian royal family #the gorons & zora recognize the royals as a foreign governing body but don't submit to them--they have their own governments #and the gerudo just kind of have a mutual 'you don't fuck with me i dont fuck with you' agreement with the hyrulian government lol #& then of course their are some fringe sects like the one ganon comes from. who are also basically ignored until they become a problem #asks #loz: sword of fate #< wow it's been a while since i used that tag lmfao #um anyway. i can do a seperate post abt canon zora designs if anyone wants it ig lmfao

Oh god. Oh fuck. Horrible Dusknoir/Aimilios hc just spawned in.

What if near the beginning of the stoneship fight… Dusknoir overheard Grovyle, and realized Aimilios was the key to Temporal Tower. So if he just dragged only him back to the future— everything could stay. He wouldn’t have to lose his life. And Aimilios feels his fur standing up when Dusknoir is just staring at him for an uncomfortably long time with an unreadable expression.

Before he lunges towards him.

Ribbons and Grovyle would immediately get in-front of Aimilios and counter attack— trying to ward off Dusknoir from getting anywhere close to him.

…And near the end of the fight, when all of Dusknoir’s Sableye are down except for him— He becomes desperaterelentless— constantly charging the aura pup so aggressively during their fight. and only him. At one point— Even managing to grab the Riolu. (so that’s two times Aimilios got viciously grabbed by him, fun!)

Which makes the aura pup whimper out in fear before Grovyle slices the cloaked ghost-type’s arm with a Leaf Blade. <<(WHICH ACTS AS A KIND OF BITTERSWEET SWITCHAROO OF GROVYLE PROTECTING PARTNER FROM DUSKNOIR RATHER THAN VICE VERSA)

…And that just ends up being the main reason why Aimilios is so deathly afraid of being physically close to Dusknoir compared to Ribbons. And why he’s so much more jumpy/terrified whenever he gets near him when he returns years later.
