I found it pretty funny and i thought i'd give it a try with my own comfort characters, Death Wolf (or Wolfy🥰) and his "distant cousin", Anubis, the Egyptian god of death 😅
Ahhh this was actually just a page for testing out different colors for another drawing, but it turned out so nicely that i wanted to post it! I am on a hyperfocus train with ancient egypt stuff rn and i found those goooorgeous acrylic paints in my room. So it was perfect for this kinda stuff <33 I then had the idea to try out gold ink and i am in loooove! I def wanna use metallic accents more often now, it just makes things sooo much prettier.
(shoutout to my mom for borrowing me her old egypt books as references and for infecting me with her passion for this topic as a child <33 )
Sorry I haven’t been posting stuff lately, I’ve got several comics almost done! Also I’m trying to actually finish inktober this year!
I really like how this one turned out! This is my version of Persephone!
Anubis mentioned once that she looks the best to him when she’s naked draped in Gold.
Persephone prefers “wearing him.” No one knows what she means by this. Bastet cackled though, so she might get it but no one can say for sure… because it’s Bastet.
Loved doing random art prompts in middle school and got Modern Anubis as one. At the time I remember being very sheepish at the idea of drawing an anthro animal because I didn’t want to be viewed as a furry. I am proud to announce I could not care less anymore :)
Old art below <3
Sticky note courtesy of my bff at the time who was very eager to poke fun when they saw this.
