II.

You stood outside the cinema nervous, as you waited for your date. You’d had to lie to your parents about your plans, there was no way they’d let you leave the house if you told them what you were really doing. You’d told them you were meeting up with your best friend, Mia to hang out, instead of going on your first date with Julian, a boy from your physics class that had asked you out earlier in the week. The two of you had kissed previously at a friend’s party a few weeks ago, it was a brief and short kiss, your first kiss actually, but you’d felt a small flutter of butterflies in your stomach, something you’d only felt when you were around one particular person, so instead of closing yourself off to Julian, you’d accepted his invitation to the local cinema; you owed it to yourself to explore something new with someone else, someone who actually wanted you. You couldn’t wait for Kylian forever, he was barely even here anymore anyways.

You rubbed your hands together, shivering slightly in the bone-chilling early-March wind as you continued to wait for Julian. It had been 45 minutes after the time you’d agreed to meet, and you gave it another 15 minutes before giving up. You felt stupid, and heartbroken as yet another boy had ultimately rejected you.

Am I that repulsive? you were thinking as you walked away from the cinema, back towards your house. You were so deep in your thoughts, you didn’t hear your name being called from behind you.

“Y/N! Stop, please!” You turned around to see Julian running towards you. He gaze fell to his feet he got closer to you.

“Look, Julian, you’re the one that asked me out. I don’t know if you did it out of pity, or whatever, but I’m not going to play your games-“

“No, no Y/N it’s not like that.” He looked up and you noticed a cut on lip, dried blood around his nose and a nasty purple bruise beginning to form around his left eye.

“Oh my god, Julian what happened? Are you okay?”

“Look, I like you okay? I really do, but…I don’t think I’m right for you. Sorry Y/N.”

“You don’t think you’re right for me?” You echoed, and he gulped, his eyes darting around nervously, as though someone was watching him.

“Y/N, I’m sorry okay, but I can’t date you.” He blurted out, but there was no emotion in in voice, almost as though someone was forcing him to say these words.

“Why? Julian who did this to you?” He shook his head as he started to walk backwards in the direction he came in, and with the way he looked at you, it clicked, you knew exactly what happened and who had hurt him like that.

“My brother.” And his eyes widened. He didn’t have to confirm it with his mouth, you had your answer right there.

“He hurt you right? And told you to leave me alone?” You were growing angrier with each word that left your mouth, practically seething with fury by the time you finished your sentence.

Julian shook his head again. “No, no not him-“

“Julian, I’m so sorry this happened to you. I’m really really sorry. I will deal with my brother. I’m so sorry.” You apologised, before turning around, practically marching down the road towards your house. It was a 10 minute walk, and within that time, you’d come up with 500 ways of torturing your brother. How dare he mess with your life like that, hurt someone who only wanted to take you out on a date, acting as if the guy had slept with you or something. And even if you’d had sex with Julian, it was absolutely none of Elliot’s business. You reached boiling point by the time you opened your front door and stormed into the living room, ready to scorch the hell out of Elliot when you got your hands on him. Your mom was lying on the couch, face buried in a book as the radio played softly in the background.

“Mama, where’s Elliot?”

“Elliot? He’s next door. Fayza called him over because-“

You didn’t stay to hear the rest of your mother’s sentence as you made your way over to the house you could basically call your second home, collecting yourself briefly before knocking on the door calmly.

Fayza answered the door, smiling as she greeted you.

“Hi auntie,” You said as she released you from her hug. “My mom said Elliot is here?”

“Yeah, he’s up in Kylian’s room.” She opened her mouth to say more but you stopped her, apologising for interrupting her sentence.

“Sorry auntie, I really have to ask him something, it’s urgent, but I promise, I’ll come down and chat after.” You quickly removed your shoes and rushed up the stairs towards highest point in the house, Kylian had the attic room. You saw your brother, sat on Kylian’s bed, scrolling through his phone when you entered the room and closed the door behind you.

“You fucking dick!” You yelled, walking over to him and slapping him, your hand hitting his right cheek. You were glad to be in Kylian’s room, his was in the farthest corner of the house so it was very unlikely anyone could hear you.

“Elliot how could you! How dare you!”

“Owww Y/N, what the hell?” He stands up from the bed, holding onto his cheek.

“You have no right Elliot! Telling Julian to stay away from me? I am 17! I can date whoever I want!”

“You sure mum and dad would agree with that?”

“Screw you. You’re such an asshole.” You say on the computer chair at Kylian’s desk, and sighed, trying to calm yourself down before you strangled your only brother. “You’re apologising to Julian when school starts again Monday morning.”

“The hell I am. I’m not apologising to that dickhead for protecting my sister.”

“First of all, I don’t need your protection, I am 17, not 7. And secondly, yes you are. Did you see what you did to his face? That’s not cool El.”

“What are you talking about?”

“Oh cut the bullshit Elliot. Who else could’ve given him a black eye and busted his lip? Do I have another over-protective brother I don’t know about?”

“It wasn’t Elliot.” You heard the voice before you saw its owner and you almost fell out of the chair, flat onto your face when you finally laid your eyes on him. You didn’t even register what he said out of shock, he was the last person you expected to be in front of you right now. He looked different, taller, more manly and adult-like.

Good. He looked good.

“Kylian?? You’re back?” You asked, hoping you didn’t sound over-excited.

“Yeah, um, I got a week off, and I came back to surprise my parents.”

“Bro…” Elliot started, noticing it first, pointing to Kylian’s fist. He was currently stood infront of the door to his bedroom, holding a bloodied tissue to his nose, and his knuckles were bright red. “You went back to Julian after I left?”

“What?” You shook your head, trying to understand what was going on. “What do you mean went back?”

“Kylian got home, just after you had already left to meet Mia. Anyways, I told Kyks you were going to watch a movie with Mia so we were going to come and meet the two of you. I texted to see where you guys were at and she texted me back saying you were meeting up with Julian so I got pissed off and went to the skate park where Julian chills with his friends with Kylian and I told him to leave you alone or else. I swear that’s all I did.” He raised his hand in surrender. “Mom then called me about getting her something from the store for dinner and Kylian said he’d just meet me back at the house. This idiot must’ve gone back to see Julian.”

“Gee, you didn’t leave out any details huh? Thanks for outing me, bro.” Kylian rolled his eyes.

“I think your bleeding nose already did that for you man.” Elliot replied, smirking.

“Wait..wait.” You turned to face Kylian. “So you went back and what? Beat the fuck out of him? Someone likes me and your first thought is to beat the fuck out of them?” You felt the anger you’d pushed away start to simmer again, your hands were shaking as you stared at him.

“Y/N…”

“Y/N…” Kylian and Elliot said simultaneously and you raised your hand to silence them.

“Elliot, you’ve done enough, leave, I need to talk to Kylian. NOW.”

“Bro…she’s really pissed. She slapped me, good luck.” Elliot said to Kylian as he patted his shoulders and slid past him, down the stairs and out of sight. Kylian shut the door and walked further into the room, holding the bloodied tissue in his hand as he approached you.

“It’s good to see you Y/N.”

“Don’t. Don’t do that.”

He stopped, about a metre from you, but his eyes didn’t leave yours as he spoke.

“Look. I’m not going to apologise for beating that little shit. And I would do it again in a heartbeat.”

“You’re not my dad or my brother Kylian!”

“Yes, I’m not, but that’s not going to stop me from looking out for you regardless, you’re my best friend.”

“I’m not even sure you fit that description anymore. We don’t speak Ky, you don’t call, you don’t text.”

“I’ve been busy-“

“Yeah, I know!” You raised your arms and laughed. “We all know! Kylian Mbappe, the football superstar! Is that why you think you have some sort of right to go round punching people in the face? Because you’re some big shot now? You’re better than the rest of us still left in Bondy?”

“Y/N, that’s not fair.”

“FAIR?? You want to talk about being fair?? You show up out of no where and ruin my chances with a nice guy who actually likes me and you want to say I’m not being fair?”

“You weren’t there Y/N! You didn’t hear what he was saying, the way he was talking about you, and your body, and your-“

“Oh because God forbid somebody finds me attractive! Someone thinks I’m worth looking at, worth kissing-“

“Wait, you kissed?”

“Yes Kylian, we kissed. And I liked it. I liked it a lot. And now I wish I had let him do more because God knows he’s never coming near me, even with a ten foot pole now.” You noticed his jaw clench, his hands curling into fists at his side. You took a few steps closer to him, your voice was barely above a whisper as you were merely inches apart now.

“Maybe I should’ve let him touch me a little bit more, let his hands roam a little bit lower-“

“Y/N, that’s not funny.” He said through gritted teeth, the fists his hands were forming into growing tighter. His brows were furrowed, several frown lines strewn across his forehead. He was absolutely fuming.

“That’s the thing Kyky, I’m not joking.” You whispered as his nostrils flared.

“You’re not touching him ever again Y/N.”

“I will if I want to. And you wanna know why?” You raised your finger to his chest, pressing it into him with every word that came out of your mouth, as though you were punctuating them. “You. Don’t. Get. To. Decide. That. For. Me.”

“So what? You’re just going to spread your legs for that idiot?” He seethed, unable to control the words that came tumbling out of his mouth. He didn’t want to hurt you, he’d never ever want to hurt you, but the words were out there now, he couldn’t take them back. He heard you gasp, taking in a sharp breath and he immediately regretted what he had said. He opened his mouth to say something, apologise, but you beat him to it, the sadness that he had momentarily seen in your eyes transform to a fiery, burning rage.

“Fuck you Kylian! FUCK YOU!” You stepped back again, your whole body was now shaking with anger, your voice back at its elevated volume. You had no other choice but to yell, let everything out through this emotion or else you would cry.

“HE’S NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU Y/N!” He shouted back, the both of you furious with the other. You don’t think there’s ever been a moment in your friendship when things have been this bad between you.

“How would you know? How the fuck would you know that he’s not good enough for me? You’re never here! You haven’t been here for MONTHS!”

“He doesn’t care about you! Not like-“

“Not like what? Like you do? Don’t make me laugh Kylian, because trust me, I’m not in the fucking mood. You don’t care about me! You only care that I sit here, pinning after you like some lovesick puppy with a school girl crush. Well, I’m not 11 anymore, I can’t stay stuck here in the exact same spot, waiting for you to notice me, while you’re out there doing God knows what with God knows who. You’re living your life, let me do the same. I want to move on with mine.”

“Y/N-“ He reached out for you as you neared to door to leave the room, but you quickly snatched your hand out of his grasp before he could, the other one hovering over the handle as you turned to speak to him one more time.

“Stay out of my business Ky, or I swear, I will cut you out of my life. Completely.”

With that, you slammed the door behind you, leaving Kylian completely alone with his thoughts and your revelation that you had had a crush on him all this while, and been entirely oblivious to the fact he had also felt the same. You both knew you didn’t mean the harsh words you just said to each other, but in that moment, your emotions as high as they were, neither of you were too sure of that anymore.

You didn’t talk to Kylian for the rest of the week after that. You had planned to ignore him the whole time he was home, you’d even blocked his number so you wouldn’t see all the numerous calls he was making, but his grandmother had organised a big meal in honour of him before he went back to Monaco and unfortunately for you, you could never say no to her. Or her incredible food. So that’s how you find yourself next to Kylian at the dining table. You knew you couldn’t ignore him in front of everyone, both your families knew how close you were, it would be odd to them if you weren’t talking and you didn’t want to answer any questions as to why because that could lead back to Julian, whom your parents had no idea about and you wanted it to stay that way. So you instead opted to simply forget what had happened, neither of you said a word about your argument in his bedroom, rather preferring to just fall back into your natural rhythm with each other than acknowledge the hurtful words you’d both said to each other earlier in the week.

“I missed you gummy.” He whispered in your ear earlier, after you’d taken your seat by him at the table. Your eyes met, and you felt yourself already falling for him all over again. “I came back for you, more than anyone else.”

You hated the way your body reacted to his voice and his words, you hated the way all he had to do was smile that lopsided grin and flash his dimples and you were putty in his hands, you hated the way you really couldn’t hate him, but most of all you hated yourself, for still holding a torch for him, your heart still crying out for him after all these years of nothing back from him.

“I missed you too Kyky.” He reached down to take your hand and squeezed it, and grinned.

And that was that. It was simple with Kylian, not fighting with him was easier than fighting with him; it wasn’t long before you were laughing and joking with him again, his arm around your shoulder where it always was when you were sat next to him, the both of you choosing to totally turn a blind eye to the massive elephant in the room.

So decided to take an in depth look at the new teaser trailer and share what I found.

We start at the elevator we saw in the last teaser image we got, just not with the ominous yellow light. it seems like there's blood or oil on the carpeted floor, and slashes on the walls. Where the seemingly natural light is coming from doesn't fit the architecture of the rest of the hallway, looking industrial, honestly though the hallway is the one that looks out of place, looking more like something that belongs to the Elliot Manor, not sure what that means for the episode but thought it important to mention.

Pulling out a bit further we see disassembled disassembly drones, specifically the male body type (or what most people call the male body type we can't exactly be sure with only 3 disassembly drones). there is something on the tv but for the life of me I can't read that tiny red text. Turning back on the architect it seems to follow the manor look with some industrial bits peaking out.

Moving up a level we seemingly end up in a receptionist room for JCJenson, it doesn't have the IN SPAAAAACEE!!!! though. In the background disassembly drones, seemingly the "female" ones though, and something I just noticed while writing they all seem to be missing heads, I couldn't see any heads anywhere. and writing on the walls, saying "don't look down" or "don't don't look", along with claw scratches.

Up one more we get an office cubicle with a computer open on it's desktop. we also see a computer mouse and a spiral notebook with something on it, maybe a mug or a can? Nothing scary I can see other then the horror that is cubicle farms.

Yet an other cubicle farm with the sound effect of a crying baby of all things? Uzi backstory maybe? Anyway we see 2 Camp 98.7 drones both with loading icons on their visors, which I believe we've never seen before other then when Uzi was talking to N and V in episode 2 but that was only in the corner and her eyes were still on. There seems to be oil on the ground too.

So this is the scene most people are freaking out about. A dinosaur looking thing, while it looks mostly organic from the shadow it does have 2 wires from the back of it's head to it's neck and 2 wires from under the chin to it's neck. There seems to be blood or oil on the ground here too. Also anyone else getting jurassic park vibes from this scene?

I think these 2 scenes are in the same room, also someone is laughing in this scene as well. It seems to be a some sort of observation room mix with an operation room, given the discarded worker drone limbs I don't imagine these "operation" were very ethical. There is a box in the back with some text on it but all I can read is "parts :)".

Presumably this is the hole our main trio were looking at in the first teaser, at the very least we can tell it's open to the air because snow is falling down there, I just noticed how there is not nearly enough snow on everything for a planet that's constantly snowing but I guess I probably shouldn't ask too much realism from this show about murderous drones. On a more worrying note where are Tessa, J and Doll? I hope they are fine but just out of shot.

Last but not least the thumb nail for the video has the weird drone hand that if I had to guess is from that dinosaur drone, I have no evidence other then a gut feeling. Also massive thanks for @magmythedevil for pointing this out but the claw matches the one in episode 4.

The Dream

Now that the evening reblogs are out of the way, I promised @citylighten a little bit of a deep dive into Hope's Dream, why I triggered it, why I was apprehensive about it (sprinkled with a little writer's insecurity) and what I was hoping to accomplish;

Shall we?

TLDR; the dream symbolized Elliot's hopes for the future and Hope's way of saving Elliot.

I posted the reminder to filter your tags last night because I would be depicted a deceased body which of course is a trigger (fun fact: the reason there was never any blood is because it was already emotionally charged and sometimes that's worse than blood and gore, plus blood nauseates me). We are literally still in the first day home after a two week hospital stay and Hope is coming back into a very harsh reality. What I am attempting to do is unroll that reality as realistically as I think I can.

Don't mean to get mushy on main, but I was apprehensive about that post. Insecure about it even. My reasoning is, its not an easy subject to tackle and when you're writing something visual it has even more of an impact. Honestly, sometimes I think I take things too far. But the way my brain works, it *had* to be a nightmare and it *had* to be vivid. So the apprehension was like "Damn Cin, maybe that was *too* much". But I posted anyway because I believed in it. Believe it or not, that post came together over the course of the night last night with a ton of ice water, some turkey jerkey and a dope ass playlist... I digress

I figured that the wedding attire and location may throw people off and it did. The preset I used was super white with a dark sky (silent hill preset). It had to look like a dream. White symbolizes innocence and purity in western society. Hope's subconscious mind was showing her what Elliot wanted. Them to be married. It should have been him. They have the history. In the dream he's squeezing her hand, he's afraid. He's quite literally dead. He asks what happened as if he doesn't understand. So she's stuck with telling him, in all white, walking down the aisle. And then the next thing we know he's limp on the ground. Another angle is Hope's subconscious mind showing her what would have saved him; them staying together and marrying.

So this is super long already but I wanted to at least give some background as to where I was going there. I understand that some have had to back away from the story for awhile and I support that wholeheartedly (folks unfollowed and blocked me when Darren was abusive toward Indya, even more did after she married him because to some, abusers can't change). Up until last week it was a beautiful story of a beautiful romance, a beautiful wedding and a beautiful honeymoon and then the whiplash upon return was a lot to handle.

I get it.

FUCK its getting longer! It will be dark until it gets light and I don't have a timeline on that at the moment. Thanks for reading this far.

What the Townies Watch on the Television

Stardew brainrot going wild. Clint doesn't get a fancy colour because he doesn't deserve one. <3 Unlike Krobus who doesn't get a colour because he's special and lovely.

Bachelors:

Sam: Something in relation to urban mysteries like UFOs and monsters like Bigfoot. He'd watch shows about ghosts too but he's too scared. Also, those 'Top Twenty Fails' shows!

Elliot: History shows, obviously. They're great for references and also just super entertaining overall! He also dabbles in the occasional gardening show to help him take care of his seasonal flowers.

Sebastian: I feel like he barely watches TV, but when he does it's something comedic. Think Stardew's version of Seinfeld. Any of that trashy TV to pass the time.

Harvey: Like Elliott, Harvey's a big fan of the history channel. He also loves those urban mystery shows that talk about missing vehicles because he gets to learn about all the ins and outs of how they worked.

Shane: He'll watch anything except for the news and romance. The news is too depressing for his already endorphin-drained mind and romance shows feel too trashy. He just has the sports channel on in the background whenever he's doing something.

Alex: We all know the answer: sports. But he's also a fan of the cooking, gardening, and antique shows! That's all thanks to Evelyn. And George has forced him to become used to all his depressing channels, though he tries to avoid that.

Bachelorettes:

Penny: She loves children's shows and antique shows like the Antique Roadshow. They just give her a wonderful feeling of nostalgia and warmth inside.

Leah: All those repairing and art shows. If only she knew Bob Ross... She would be in love. She is also an avid enjoyer of gardening and cooking shows. They give her great foraging tips!

Abigail: Children's shows. But where Penny is more aimed at the littler kids cartoons, she likes the stuff around the age things like Danny Phantom are aimed at. Stardew Valley would also have a ton of monster hunting shows that she loves.

Maru: Science shows, duh. Absolutely anything to do with science - even those UFO shows and lost city programs. Even if she thinks they're fake, she has fun debunking them. She's also a sucker for a good romance series.

Emily: Sewing shows, repair shows, art shows, dance competitions - anything artistic. She's the one who watches the news, so Haley doesn't have to. She handles the stresses shown on there a lot better than her sister.

Haley: She's not really a fan of TV. It's a lot of her aimlessly scrolling through channels of trashy TV programs until she gives up and something grabs her eye. What she usually settles on are some fun ghost hunting shows.

Other:

Jodi: She barely gets time for television. But when she does, she likes to watch kids' shows with Vincent or a good drama. Something to distract her from the business of her life. She's also heavily invested in the news in the hopes of knowing how her husband is.

Vincent: Kids shows, obviously! He's eight, what else is he going to watch? Ever since his father left, he's been banned from watching the news so as not to worry him, but he's caught sneak peaks by listening in on his family's commentary anyways.

Kent: For the years leading up to and the first year of the farmer's arrival, Kent couldn't watch television at all. Being a soldier in the front lines and all. But when he got back, he really got into the lighthearted stuff. He needed a good distraction.

Robin: Woodworking shows; specifically, treehouse building. She just thinks it's so cool how people just decide to put these grand houses in trees of all things. She also loves romance and drama series.

Demetrius: He's not one for TV. He tries to avoid it due to how depressing and dependent it can make you. When he does watch it, he's watching the movies.

Marnie: Funny fail videos. She's a sucker for funny cats. And of course, there are the animal shows. She loves shows like Better Homes and Gardens.

Jas: Once again, kids' shows. Her and Vincent are obsessed with them. She also caught a glimpse of a murder mystery show and was entranced. What can I say? She's a bit of a Wednesday Addams.

Evelyn: Baking, gardening, and antique shows. She also loves travel programs. It makes her all happy to see people having a good time. And she gets to daydream about travelling the world.

I would give all my money to let her go on a cruise. </3

George: All the depressing stuff. Murder mysteries, missing person cases, the news, all of it. Then he acts like that doesn't fuel his horrible mood. He's just using his cynical feelings to survive at this point and needs fuel.

Pam: She hates it, but she's addicted to the news. She also loves to watch royal and historical dramas. It makes her happy to know that it's not just her that's suffering (even if those other people are fictional).

Pierre: The Art of the Deal /hj. Nah, he's watching all that conservative stuff. Also loves those shows where they renovate and sell houses. He just wishes he could own a big house like the people on the show.

Caroline: Cooking shows and meditation classes. She needs a bit of a breather, so any programs aimed to help relax are appreciated. She also studies the fitness programs for her classes with the other townies.

Linus: He doesn't watch TV. Firstly, he lives in a tent, and secondly, television isn't all too good for you.

Clint: Romance shows that he self-inserts himself into aka pretends he's with Emily. I'm sorry I just don't like Clint. Also, metalworking.

Rasmodius/Wizard: He doesn't watch TV. Ever.

Krobus: He likes any shows, but particularly fantasy dramas. He gets to enjoy the creativity of humans AND study their social systems.

Leo: He never used to have television, so it's all very new to him. But like the other kids his age, he's all about the children's network.

When Shipping Does Not Matter

Shipping wars can be annoying. As a kid, I never cared about ships. But even some media that I have come to enjoy as an older teen or adult are perfectly fine without shipping. Here is my list:

Danny Phantom - Sam is cool but I hardly cared about DannyxSam (although I have found arguments for DannyxValerie to be very intriguing). Danny's friendships, ghost lore and his identity reveal and how it impacted his relationship with his family were WAY more interesting.

Law & Order: SVU - I was there for the crime drama. Olivia and Elliot should be friends. Romance between these two is not necessary.

Star Wars - I literally got into SW because of Vader/Anakin & Luke's family drama. I couldn't care less about Han/Leia. And even Anidala is only interesting to me because of Anakin. I like Padme but I don't care much for her as an independent character.

Justice League/Batman Media - I admit that I enjoy some fics where Bruce/Talia raise Damian together as a family. And I have read some Superbat and Wonderbat fics but I quickly lost interest. I like JL for their friendship and their family bonds (give me Jason & Bruce angst and I will read that for HOURS).

Xiaolin Showdown - I know Raimundo and Kimiko had obvious crushes on each other but that was always a background thing for me. I like focusing more on the lore and Raimundo's character. I love Rai so much. Easily the best character in the show.

Teen Titans - Robin/Starfire are great but like Raikim, it is just background for me. Was never super into Beast Boy's relationships either.

Yugioh - I admit that most of my romantic fics in Yugioh were slash :). But I think for the most part the pairings in Yugioh are fine. You won't find me looking up posts about Yugioh ships. Romance is not a big deal in Yugioh anyway. I will say that Joey/Mai is one of the best Yugioh ships. Mai deserved better. Most Yugioh girls deserved better.

Dragonball series - The canon ships are fine. I enjoy wholesome family-centered fics but I hardly care about shipping in dbz. The only canon ship that's truly interesting in DBZ is VegetaxBulma because of how it shapes Vegeta's arc.

Avatar the Last Airbender *** - I am putting asterisks here because I feel strongly about Zutara. But that love was mostly inspired by fanfiction and reflection after watching the show. Watching the show as a kid, the story was perfect without shipping. In fact, the romance was the worst part and could have been removed entirely. The only ship that is arguably necessary is Sukka and even that relationship could have been platonic and Sokka's arc would be the same. Shipping for me only becomes important post-series. Literally all my post-series ATLA fics were Zutara lol. I can't recall ever reading a post-series Kataang fic. And this was before I really became sour on Kataang. I don't think I ever read a Kataang fanfic period. Maybe the Zutara fanfics are just better??

There are probably others but these are my main ones. What other shows do people think are great without shipping involved?

Here's the second installment of my baking headcannons for the romance-ables! This time with the lovely bacherlorettes. Assumes a baker!reader, but you can also just read these as general headcanons. Enjoy!

Haley:

Arguably the best at baking out of all the bachelors and bachelorettes. Not only is she a canon baker, mentioning it a few times most notably in her fourteen heart event and post marriage dialogue, but her background fits quite well into it too!

I imagine she’s been baking since she was little, but really grew into it after her parent’s left to travel the world. Owns an apron and an huge inventory of baking utensils, dry ingredients, and cookbooks.

Not only did she teach Emily how to bake, but she will also write down an alternative recipe for everything she bakes - specifically to give to Emily.

These alternatives will include detailed steps for the recipe itself, but also for any substitutions (raw diet, gluten free, sweeteners, etc) that can be made. She decorates them with stickers and keeps them in a little folder for her sister.

Also gifts a lot of her baking to other villagers! Usually the default baker for anyone wanting a home-made birthday cake. She’s quite proud of this :)

Gets so excited if you ask to bake with her, may even invite you first! She’s very confident of her skills, and shows it in her work - she’s meticulous, down to the very last detail, balancing the flavours and placing the decorations perfectly.

She spends a lot of time on prep work with you too! When you go grocery shopping together, prepare to spend a lot of time browsing ingredients - she’ll inspect the fresh groceries closely, and only be satisfied with certain brands for everything else required.

If she has a crush on you, she’ll start making requests for the fresh produce she needs on the community bulletin board, especially the things she knows you’re growing that season, and when you come to deliver it, she’ll invite you inside to come help <3.

Absolutely elated if you gift her any of your baked goodies.

If you get together, consider yourself set for life on the baking front. Somehow, she always manages to have something freshly made. Will work hard to memorise your favourites off by heart, and will work towards preserving her recipes for anyone dear to her heart.

Canonically her favourite cake is pink cake, but I reckon she also just likes most fruity cakes.

Overall Baking Skill: 5/5. The self proclaimed (but deserved), "Queen of The Bake Sale".

Penny:

Pelican Town’s best kept secret by far is the semi-unfortunate reality of this girl’s cooking and baking. She know’s she’s not good with it, but she just loves both so much, and you can see how eager she is about it, so everyone’s super encouraging. It’s very sweet, actually.

Sam is one of only people in town who actually doesn’t understand why everyone makes such a big deal out of it anyways. Truthfully, her baking isn’t that bad, I mean, she makes mistakes often, and things usually end up a bit burnt - but you can always eat around stuff. Elliot’s baking is the real enemy here.

She borrows a lot of cookbooks from the museum and will study them relentlessly. One time she accidently returned one with all her sticky notes still attached, but she’s one of the only villagers who borrows them anyways - so Gunther ended up suggesting she just leave them in from now on. Maru likes reading her notes in the books from time to time.

Likes a big range of baked goods and flavours, but especially likes eating whatever Leah and Harvey makes. Doesn't ask for anything from them often though.

If you like baking, she might ask you for help to make sure nothing goes wrong. You’ll figure out quickly that’s she’s actually got a lot of good ideas, and has most of the theory down pat - she’s just a bit unconfident about her skills, and has trouble executing her ideas into reality. Give her a push and some gentle encouragement, and you may end up making something really good together :)

If she has a crush on you, she’ll start recommending you her favourite cookbooks and asking about stuff you like so she can direct you to her favourite same or similar recipes for it. She’ll also ask you for help more often.

If possible, she hopes that she’ll be able to make something together with you that she can offer to Jas and Vincent (and later, Leo) as treat for studying so hard <3

If you do get into a relationship, she’ll keep at it, and may actually see herself improve slightly. She might deflect and start out by saying that she owes it to your help, but truthfully it’s entirely her own hard work, effort, and perserverance.

Overall Baking Skill: 2/5 Determination pays off!

Maru:

Love, love, LOVES anything tangy, zesty, or citrusy. Doesn’t bake though, and doesn’t know how to either, but not because she doesn’t want to - just because she never really has had the chance to. She’s got a lot going on, with working at the clinic, helping her father out, and with any personal robotics projects she has.

Demetrius is also a bit wary of anything that could supposedly “get in the way of her bright future”, so if there ever was a time she was interested in learning how to bake, it likely would not have received any of the interest she might have liked to receive :,(

If she ever has a craving, she’ll go to Haley instead of her friend Penny. Because whilst Penny has been known to cook and bake, she’s honestly just a bit bad at it. Maru would never tell her that though.

Would love to join you in your baking endeavours! As it turns out, like her brother Sebastian, she actually has a little bit of an affinity for it given the right direction.

If she has a crush on you, you’ll probably see an influx of letters in the mail from her describing the newest baked goods she’s tried or heard about, or she'll straight up just send you recipes.

She’d also probably memorise your favourites, and find herself subconsciously looking for them whenever she goes shopping for herself <3

If you get into a relationship together, and especially when you move in together, I could see her indulging in baking as a pastime more.

She tries not to make a big deal out of it, but she’s actually very concerned with your strenous lifestyle, and will often pack you small lunches with a slice of whatever she’s baked recently to ensure you’re keeping fed and hydrated during your long days on the farm.

Canonically loves rhubarb pie and strawberry. Would probably fall in love with you again if you ever combined them lol.

Overall Baking Skill: 3/5! Baked good enthusiast.

Leah:

Honestly not really a big fan of baking, or even eating it for that matter, and she especially dislikes the super sweet stuff. If she does bake, she tends to prefer stuff with a floral essence, like poppyseed, lavender, or even rose!

Buys her ingredients as locally as possible, and has a few plots to herself in the community garden. If she can, she’ll forage.

Learnt extremely quickly not to bake with Elliot (RIP Leah)

If she has a crush on you, and on the rare occasion that she does bake, you’ll have first dibs.

She’s pretty similar to Haley in that she’ll want your farm's fresh produce to work with as well, though she’ll skip the bulletin board and go straight to you instead :)

If you get together, baking together might still be a bit of a non-event, but she’ll go above and beyond in making sure that you have everything you could need, providing you with some of her community garden harvests and forage <3

Overall Baking Skill: 2.5/5. Environmentally conscious!

Emily:

Sweet tooth - but has a few dietary needs and preferences! Living in a small town, the things she often craves often don’t come with alternative or substituted ingredients, so most of the time she’ll have to make them herself, or ask her sister.

Since Haley’s a picky eater, Emily took up most of the cooking in the house. Unfortunately, it’s a real struggle sometimes finding meals that both of them will eat, and she’ll often have to resort to cooking two of the same thing, making them both personalised to eachother’s pallate.

Haley knows this, and while she really doesn’t like cooking meals that much, she does genuinelly want to bridge the gap in her own special way; it’s why Haley taught her how to bake!

Emily certainly isn’t as good as her sister at baking, but she’s still incredibly talented - learning the basics incredibly quickly and having a real sense for how different ingredients interact with eachother.

Honestly, she could make her own recipes from scratch if she wanted, but she much prefers the ones Haley makes specifically for her. She always shows Haley whenever she uses one of her recipes too :,)

She’ll probably share the things she bakes with you before she even realises it’s something you enjoy - and when she does realise, she’ll be super excited at the possibility of having another baking buddy.

If she has a crush on you, she’ll go out of her way to ask you about your favourites, and will try her hand at making a version of it that you can both eat together.

If it’s not something she or Haley have made before, she’ll keep you updated on the process as they work it out. Will insist on feeding you, and will wink cheekily at you when she uses the same fork for herself <3

If you get into a relationship together, she’ll share all of her ingredients, recipes, and even cooking utensils with you. Will also look for cute shape pans or cookies cutters to gift you.

Overall Baking Skill: 4.5/5. They are sisters, after all.

Abigail:

Never thinks about it honestly - she likes baked goods, but she just doesn’t see herself getting much out of making them. Has all the ingredients available to her if she ever changes her mind though.

Prefers things with dark chocolate or seasonal berries, and especially likes eating them with accompaniments like hot cocoa, whipped or ice cream.

Haley’s not really her crowd, but she always gets a custom birthday cake from her every year since she started offering.

She keeps an eye on Pierre’s inventory, so if something that Sam or Sebastian likes comes in or restocks, she can be the first to grab a few of them.

She keeps keeps them on her person when they go to hang out, so she can immediately give them one if they mention they’re getting a bit hungry. Doesn't make any sort of deal about it either, just holds it out to them. Neither Sam nor Sebastian knows why she does this, but they’re not complaining either.

If you like baking, you’ll have to invite her if you want her to join you. She’s not good or bad at helping out, and will prefer if you take the lead for the majority of it. She will bring over the little extras or whatever you’re missing though! And as you serve up, she’ll offer to make you a drink or something simple to go with it :)

If she has a crush on you, she’ll start including you in her little Sam+Seb snack grabs, and if you ever mention needing something but not being able to find it in town, she’ll secretly get Pierre to special order it, by saying she’s heard alot about it in town recently, and they could turn a pretty big profit by being the sole provider! Is she lying? Yes. But, it’s for the farmer, so who cares <3

If you end up getting into a relationship together, she’ll make sure you’re always stocked up, mostly on general ingredients, but especially any decor. Likes buying you sprinkles or marshmallows and making you custom mixes.

She’s still pretty serious about the Egg Festival by this point, so maybe consider making her a few themed items using her mixes? She’ll love that.

i just read the posts about british boarding school for the elite. do you think any films came out of the experience these kids had there? just curious.

absolutely! though surprisingly little, as far as i know. makes sense i guess for the conformity of it all. i've tried to collect some that go into the abusive and forced conformist situations and aren't just nostalgia:

the most famous and damning is probably if.... from 1968, screenplay by david sherwin and john howlett who both went to tonbridge school. i thought it has its lengths but is overall a really great watch...

another country is firmly the same, corporal punishment, elite, room and board... writer julian mitchell went to winchester college, plus it's based on the cambridge five anyway

the history boys was adapted for the screen and though it's about a grammar school without boarding and past the age of corporal punishment being legal, it's very much in that spirit— some people find the nostalgic, forgiving light it shines on sexual harrasser teacher hector very very distasteful but i honestly think it's damningly par for the course for that genre; if you read the whole article you'll know it's practically mandatory for tory public school boys to stay friends with their abusers later in life lol

the rainbow (ken russell's adaptation of the d.h. lawrence novel) is one of the only examples of something like this i can think of with girls (not a boarding school either), i really really like this movie but i think most other people don't 😭 it has some really bad acting in it and the tone is crazy but i love it...

the other example i have is jane eyre's early years, i think susanna white's bbc miniseries adaptation from 2006 is great

i asked my friend cate who has encyclopedic knowledge of uk cinema and she also suggested good and bad at games (1983) which sounds exactly right and i'm excited to see it, as well as the military academy-set soveireign's company which was alan clarke's first big shocker. merry christmas mr lawrence also has a pivotal flashback scene to public school abuse.

those are all i can think of that kind of fit into the category i wanted to list here but there's a super rich vein of satire or drama very directly about the british upper class that evoke all this as an implied background; the ruling class, lawrence of arabia, my favie tv show bbc the hour, the tv adaptation of the line of beauty which i'm currently reading 😚, nothing but the best 1964 ("isnt set in public school but has denholm elliot schooling alan bates in its ways for crime and subliminal bisexuality" - cate), maurice, even brideshead revisited and decline and fall lol

Alpha Base - Elliot I've been very fascinated with my book's villains for the last couple of months, and mostly that's because they (especially Heinrich) are kind of new! Every attempt I'd made to write Alpha Base in the past had been one where I just didn't have a lot of great insight into the bad guys and I was kind of weakly making them up as I went along. This year they all kind of clarified and brought the missing half of the plot with them, so I've been a bit excited about them.

But! There are other characters who I've long ago, years ago, fleshed out, and yet I never did nail down the looks for them. First up, my protagonist, Elliot. I've drawn her before, but I was never entirely happy with her look and I've changed it a few times. This here is the appearance I went with in a full illustration I did earlier this year featuring her and one of her adopted dads in the Comm. Station (which also happens to be her home). I think this one finally feels right. I think I'll stick with it.

As for where she fits into the story, first I really have to actually explain the premise of the world. I'm sure I've mentioned it in past posts and commentary, but once more with feeling: Alpha Base is a very unique location. It was once a active military outpost during an interstellar war far from Earth, but became trapped in a bubble by an alien weapon that misfired: that weapon should have killed everyone in the base, but instead it failed to trigger the fatal blow and instead just cut the population of the base off from everything outside, leaving them trapped. There's no way in to Alpha Base and no way out. There are no stars, no moon, no sun. It's an absolute closed system and the denizens have been eking out an existence for somewhere in the range of a century by the time our story starts. They've become absolute masters of recycling and reusing what they have, but there's only so far that that can take them. Their time is limited. The environment is hazardous: the atmosphere isn't breathable without oxygen support (hence the masks), background beta radiation is higher than what's comfortable and safe (hence the protective clothing), and over time, the combination of that and the hopelessness of their situation takes a toll. The population's been on a decline for decades, what technology they have is down to basics and reaching the end of its serviceable life even with the rather extraordinary creativity that they put into repairing it all. Within their lifetimes, something is just bound to give and turn the whole place from barely habitable into a forgotten graveyard.

Now, there used to be more efforts to escape back in the beginning, but none came close to being successful. Over time, it became more practical to instead play the waiting game, try to live as long as possible, and hope for rescue instead. The line of reasoning employed by those in charge is that the escape attempts of the past wasted valuable resources and shortened the base's lifespan as a whole, so they had to be ended. Of course, the real reasoning is more nuanced and goes deeper than that. Some of it's fatalistically philosophical: some don't believe that they should ever escape just on principal. Alpha Base is home, the outside world isn't, and those from Alpha Base are too fundamentally different to integrate into outside society (if there is an outside society; they have no indication of who won the war or if the war even ever ended). Some of it's political: a handful in Alpha Base have a vested interest in maintaining the status quo, because within the base there's a power and control structure that would break down if people could just leave. At any rate, escape is discouraged.

But, with the hastening breakdown of their society, interest in escape has begun to creep back in. A rebellion of sorts, an underground, sprang up - one based on the idea that if they were all doomed anyway, why not go out swinging? Why not try again to break down the wall and find freedom? What do they really have to lose?

Among the most infamous of those rebels were Elliot's parents. A lot of the details of what happened when she was small are kept from her, but she knows the story that everyone knows: that her parents died attempting to organize an effort to crack the shell. They infiltrated HQ, betrayed Alpha Base Command, found and stole top secret information that gave them some hope in hell of success, and that that information, whatever it entails, is still out there in the hands of the rebel underground, an underground that Heinrich, particularly, has been hunting down for twenty years.

After her parents' deaths, Elliot was raised by her uncle, Jacob, who, despite being the brother of a rebel, largely escapes scrutiny by being extremely useful. He's a masterful tinkerer and repairman, a collector of junk that he spends his days rebuilding, repairing, repurposing and distributing back into the population. He loves to help, loves to fix, and never hesitates with his hospitality. Likewise, his husband, Herrat (Herratt? I can't decide if it's got two t's or one and I keep switching between), holds a position of some prestige in the base as the Communications Master - acting in a practical fashion as a central distribution hub for important official communications to the base and, in a more symbolic gesture, as the eyes and ears of the base looking outward, monitoring the airwaves for any sign that the Earth Forces in the universe beyond are attempting to contact them. Some (like Paul, for example) think that that latter duty is absolutely pointless and nothing more than sentimental. Others believe that there is no more important job: that continuing to keep an ear tuned to the outside is the hope that keeps the base alive. Elliot is learning from both of them, and it keeps her curious. She has her uncle Jacob's love of tinkering and fixing, and Herrat's sense of duty and care towards others. She loves to read, she loves to learn, she loves to help, and she's well-loved by the vast majority of people in the tiny little town that is her home.

But she's still the daughter of rebels, raised by the brother of a rebel and by a man who embodies the kind of hope that's almost taboo.

While she, herself, has never done anything to cause trouble, it means that she and her family are still watched carefully, particularly by Heinrich. Her parents' betrayal of the base is something that Heinrich especially took very, very personally, for reasons that she's never been entirely sure of. Ever since she was three years old, he's been a constant in her life, keeping tabs on her family and her and on how she's grown up. It always seems like he's watching for someone among them to slip up and admit to some crucial information that he needs to finish his crusade. But that information, to her knowledge, doesn't exist.

She's never been interested in causing trouble and doesn't know of any rebel connections in her immediate family, and so despite the threat, Heinrich has never been very scary to her like he is to the rest of the base. To them he's practically the bogey man, the one you tell scary stories about late at night. To her he's like the weird uncle who she's kind of fond of. In a textbook way she knows that he could be dangerous to her and her family, and she does watch what she says around him, but in the day-to-day they get along fairly well. She likes books and he'll bring her books. She thinks the history of the base and long ago Earth are fascinating, and he keeps the key to the HQ Archives and can vet what information she gets her hands on, so he shows her harmless things.

It's an uneasy peace that always has the threat of shattering, and which the rest of the base keeps an eye on, but for most of her life it's been comfortable enough.

And then comes the event that became known as the first skyquake, a phenomenon that marks the beginning of the end for Alpha Base, and everything in Elliot's life rapidly starts to change.

I really need to explain my point of view here! 🤣

First off, I didn't use the words that she's keeping him in the friendzone because to me that's always sounded like one party wants more and the other doesn't. And that's not at all the vibes I get off of your smau. 😁

I just feel like with Max (your characterization of him obviously) there's more to unfold. I do understand that both of them are willing to go to ends for each other like noone else would and like they wouldn't do for anyone else. But with Max it kinda oozes out of every part of your smau. As a reader I see it and I can feel it. Maybe it's because of the limited amount of insight we get from him, but it's so obvious to me. It's especially the little things... like her living in his apartment rent-free, her driving his cars around, her using the jet whenever she needs to, her hotel rooms under his name, her getting whatever is "the same as his", just because she begs him. She asks, he makes it happen, mostly she doesn't even ask anymore. It comes naturally to him and to her! I'm not saying she's taking anything for granted, but it's still him doing all those things for her!

I just really really really get the notion that there's a bigger reason why he's never made a move on her romantically speaking. And I strongly feel that - other reasons aside - he'd be as ready as can be if he felt she'd want to be something more. Maybe not on a conscious level, if that makes sense. But like... if she'd give a real and honest (*) signal that she'd want more than the "friendship"-relationship they have, it wouldn't take much for him to know (realize) he wants that too.

(*) I'm saying real and honest because you brought up her being horny on main and him not entertaining it ever. Max not entertaining it is one way to put it. But I feel like his initial reactions are always somewhat... I don't know... cautious? That's probably not the right word. It just feels like even though he knows her inside out, he doesn't seem to know how to deal with this flirty side of her. So he doesn't. He turns a deaf ear to it, doesn't entertain it, however you want to put it. And in all honesty? I get it?! She's not just doing that with him either. It's kinda her persona. She's never shy of some flirty or ambigious comment or innuendos. How is he supposed to know what could be her being real and her just causing havoc and having some fun?

I'm all for men getting their act together and fighting for their girl, but I'm going to bat for Max here and say that she really doesn't make it easy on him.

So with you teasing us with there being reasons behind why Max never made a move, I wonder if y/n knows enough about him to understand those reasons. Or at least knows the background that might have caused them? Anyways, in my head I always come down to the question of what SHE actually wants. I'm not saying she needs to act first, but she might need to make some decisions for herself. Or maybe deep down she's already made them. I don't know.

And that's the second part to why I feel she's the one keeping up the friendzone. I sometimes just don't get her. She's so tough and she pretends to be so sure about all things Max and all things Elliot and what not...

Why don't you tell Max about the Thing™️ right away, girl? If he's texting and meeting up with girls himself, why hide the guy? Why make it bigger as it is? Everyone told her Max wouldn't take it lightly. Okay, so what? You don't believe in any of it when they claim he'll be jealous. So why not bring it out in the open? They talk about every effing thing. Why not that? She doesn't feel like things need to change. Well, wake up girl! Pleasepleaseplease guess what the bigger reason is I am so curious on your theories! There’s two big ones in my head, one has been hinted, one I’m playing with whether I’m going to use because it’s not really known canon and I feel like it might be a bit ooc.

I feel like part of it is Max having no game. I can’t imagine him flirting with someone in earnest. Dirty jokes, sure, but actual flirting, I think he’d short circuit. But I think part of it is him like “I know she’s probably joking but maybe if we both do it it’s going to make it weird”. Also, this is an smau, so she’s doing this all over text, he has no context to her words, he can’t tell if she’s laughing or inebriated or anything in between. My headcanon is they’re a lot more jokey irl because then he knows the vibe.

She definitely knows about the first reason of him not making a move. Inside and out she KNOWS. 100% deeps it, and probably recognises it in him and herself. She maybe wouldn’t necessarily consciously connect it to their relationship but she knows about the thought process. The second one - if I use it - is one thing, maybe the only thing, she doesn’t know/hasn’t picked up on about him. She’d be very surprised by it. It’s something she wouldn’t even consider.

I feel like she hid Elliot because she saw potential, but she didn’t want to rock the boat if nothing came of it. I think it’s been a long time since she or Max met anyone with rock the boat potential. I understand why she wouldn’t want to bother with that conversation that everyone hyped her up for if Elliot turned out to be nothing. You say a future partner wouldn’t accept that but it depends on the kind of relationship you want, and how your prioritise those relationships. Plenty of people have boyfriends they rarely see, or date for years and never live with, or cycle through a boyfriend every three months.

Another snippet! @stuffireadandenjoy @snootlestheangel @tapioca-milktea1978 this time is a bit of AliciaxAlejandro fluff! Alejandro's sweet gesture with his girlfriend! I...hope I did it right, the romance isn't my favorite genre to write about. Anyway, enjoy it!

Alicia was again inside her office, sighing before leaving and look for a cup of coffee. While she was on the kitchen, her boys walked inside with Alexander carrying a package, and he left it over the table. For a second they all looked the package, then they looked at Alicia, and then again the package.

"What?" she asked, drinking her coffee

"This arrived for you" Luke murmured, confused "it's weird"

"Maybe is my brother's or my sister's"

When she went to open the package, a smile appeared as the content of it revealed itself. Food, drinks, candies, crochet flowers and even some books, all that make her smile, mostly when she noticed the hand made plushie. Alicia had to cover her face, trying not to laugh, while she blushed.

And the ten Specters also looked, more as a gossip, just to be surprised by all the romantic thing inside. Soon Francis noticed a note, taking it to read it while the rest discussed who could have send it.

"Uh, Captain...who's Alejandro?" the younger SEAL asked, while Luke choked with his tea behind

"The Colonel?!" the Lieutenant asked, surprised, looking at his Captain

"...Yes, the Colonel" she said, rolling her eyes "why do you sound so surprised?"

"Is he trying to make you fall in love with him?!"

"WHAT?!" all of them shouted at unison

"No, no, no, that can't be" Marcus said a bit more calm "maybe he asked her for a favor or something. Maybe to deliver this...Francis, what the note says?"

"It's in spanish" said the cartographer

"Give me that" Noah murmured before started reading "oh shit, he actually wants to make the Captain to fall in love with him. This is just sweet, that 'I love you and I wanna marry you' kind of sweet"

"...Alright, let's commit a crime" Jackson said with a tick on his eye

"I agree, Elijah can tell us when he's near!" Elliot said as he sat down

"Mmm, yeah, sure" Elijah murmured with a little smile

While that happened, Alicia was wheezing on the background, trying not to laugh. She took the package and left in silence, going to Wraith's office, where she started to laugh while Dominique looked at her. A couple of minutes later, both of them were talking with her drinks in the middle.

"So Alejandro sent you this?" Wraith asked

"Yeah, and those ten saw it and read the note" Alicia answered with a chuckle

"Ohh, should I be prepared for a problem between them and Los Vaqueros?"

"Uhh, maybe"

"This only happens here, I swear"

"Yeah, but whatever, do you want some candies?"

"...You know me so well"

Alicia gave her some candies, and then took the little jaguar plushie, smiling as she called Alejandro. He didn't answer, so she called Rodolfo instead, who answered after the third tone. She put the call on speaker as she took out the rest of the things, hearing Wraith gasp surprised at the flowers and muttering about how disgustingly sweet all that was.

"¿Capitana?" he asked, a bit confused

"Hola Rodolfo, lamento llamar ahora, ¿Alejandro está por ahí?" she questioned with a little smile (Hi Rodolfo, sorry for calling now, is Alejandro over there?)

"¿Alejandro? No, acaba de salir a resolver un tema con pandillas" (Alejandro? No, he just went out to lead with some gangs)

"Pandillas, ¿antiguos socios de Valeria?" (Gangs, Valeria's old partners?)

"Aún no estamos seguros" (We're not sure yet)

"Ya veo" (I see)

"¿Para qué necesitaba al Coronel, Capitana?" (Why did you need the Colonel, Captain?"

"Necesitaba hablar con él de algo personal" (I need to talk about something personal with him)

"El paquete, ¿verdad?" (The package, right?)

"...What did he do?" she muttered with a sigh

"He asked me to tell you that he did everything from scratch" he said also sighing

"But as far as I know, he doesn't know..." Alicia murmured before shutting up and palming her face "he bothered Hernández, didn't he?"

"Yes, he did...the poor bastard is tired of leading with him"

"Christ...just, just tell Alejandro to call me when he's back and forbid him to bother his own soldiers"

"Will do"

"Thank you and sorry again"

They hang up and Alicia grabbed a drink, looking at the package again, just smiling silently. She looked away when she felt the heat crippling to her face, thinking how Alejandro took the time to learn and do all that. Dominique smirked when she noticed Alicia like that, but didn't say anything, just took another candy.

"What should I gift him?" Alicia muttered, making Wraith to look at her again

"Maybe a watch or a necklace?" Wraith suggested

"Hmm, nah, he doesn't really uses it" she said before smiling a bit "I know, I'll make him an agenda and maybe something else"

"Make? Christ, you two are the 'she fell first and he fell harder' trope! I never saw you like that!"

"Shut up"

"Alright, but I'm happy you're getting somehow stability"

Meanwhile, down the stairs, the team was arguing. About what? Easy, they were discussing about which rifle would be better to use if Alejandro Vargas dared to even try to go there. And Jackson was one of the most vocals along with Luke, while Edward just chuckled, now understanding some of Alicia's behaviors time after they met.

Originally I was planning to update Paradox's/Counter Clockwork's teenage form design, but the hairstyle and pose seemed to fit Elliot/Gregor's vibe a lot better so I changed direction! I've talked about AU ideas before with my friend @dnpanimationstudioclone for him so this time he's an undercover GIW agent (a junior agent in training anyway) trying to lure out the real Danny Phantom out of hiding by impersonating him just enough to get people to think he might secretly be the ghost boy himself attending Casper High.

As for Sam, sadly he has ulterior motives for getting close to her after hearing a rumor she was spotted by a few other students hanging out with Danny Phantom on multiple occasions. Besides, after doing a background check and finding out she's secretly loaded, well, why not get on her good side to get some extra funding for their just cause to get rid of the ghost pests investing this town?

Unlike the canon version, this Elliot/Gregor only took on this goth persona as part of his disguise. Think about it, most goth's are seen as deep thinkers and loners who don't like hanging out in the sun for too long so having him slip away from time to time could be chalked up to being a rebellious teenager instead of reporting back to his superiors. That, and he's doing it as part of the plan to attract Sam's attention specifically. Basically, he's not a total playboy. A flirt? Absolutely. A two-faced snob? Only when it comes to ghosts since he's actually serious about becoming a full GIW agent someday.

The most interesting part is, Elliot/Gregor HATES that he can't blow his cover to fight off the ghosts that show up as Casper High himself. Leaving it to a wanna-be ghost hero pisses him off so much. And lastly, he starts to genuinely fall in love with Sam after getting to know her but has to remember his time with her is limited. His top priority is exposing Danny Phantom and tracking down his lair so he can be captured for further study by the GIW.

Dressing in a classy black turtle neck and slacks, Jihan stands in front of a white-lit background with a kind smile. "My plan for Angelico is to focus on the future," Jihan explains, the screen behind him fading into a video compilation of trainees practicing and Lunarix performing on music shows.

"For so long, Angelico has been hung up on the past but with me in charge, I will only focus on the future. I have plans for a new boy group with a cyber and futurism concept, consisting of seven boys." As he explains the concept a mood board fades in behind him, showing the chromatic and futuristic concept in action.

"Cicada in its current form offers the company very little so I would implement a rebranding, replacing members that are no longer useful to the brand. Pushing Daisies, while I think is great for our western endeavors, I don't find that interesting. I wouldn't cut them but their sells domestically would have to rise for me to back them fully." With that, Jihan finishes his presentation, giving a polite smile and a small bow.

Hayul sits at a neatly organized desk, hands sitting atop the wood interwoven. She's in a white blouse with her hair pinned back, giving her a professional but delicate look.

"When I'm appointed CEO, I plan to put full efforts into Pushing Daisies and cater towards a Western market. I feel Angelico has been missing out on the vital Western markets. Pushing Daisies is currently our most successful act in the West, we need to utilize that!" Hayul speaks with confidence and power, demanding the space without even trying.

"Cicada needs a rebrand," Hayul laments with faux grief, "They simply cost too much to continue going. Already being down a member, I plan to cut several members and replace them with trainees, making it a five-member lineup." She isn't as interested in Cicada as she is Pushing Daises but she has a plan for them.

"My focus will be on the co-ed groups Rejects and Pushing Daisies as they make Angelico unique. That is our biggest goal: Uniqueness." The woman puts her fists up in a "fighting!" motion, smiling genuinely.

— CHAOTIC GOOD ; SON ROAN

"Alright," The man, dressed in a black shirt and matching joggers, hits the posterboard with current Angelico groups on it to get the viewers' attention.

"You want Cicada gone. I want Cicada gone. Boom—" Roan rips off the sticker of Cicada off the board and tosses them aside. "They're gone. They don't have a producer anyways and are a member down. Plus, they're expensive as hell. We don't need them. What we need is a new boy group," Roan explains, flipping the board over to show faces of trainees and aesthetics he has in mind for the group.

"I'm thinking six members and with a dark vampire concept that's, like, vague enough for fan theories and shit like that. These are the potential candidates," Roan says as he points to the six boys in the center of the board.

"And everything around it is, like, the concept I'm thinking of," Roan explains as he moves his hand in a circle around the board with a slow nod. "I think it looks pretty sick."

"And then," Roan flips the board back over to move Lunarix in the center of the board. "I'm putting full effort into making Lunarix the new face of Angelico. They're the only ones who can do it as of right now so they'll get full backing. Pushing daisies," Roan shrugs when he mentions the group, plucking their sticker off the board and placing below Lunarix with another shrug. He clearly doesn't look interested in them or seems to have put any thought into them.

"I'll give them comebacks. I like Elliot and Zasha enough," The man decides with a nod. "I'll put more effort into Rejects, however, because I think they're neat." With that statement, he slaps the Rejects sticker on top of the Pushing Daisies one. He gives his board a proud smile, nodding at it before looking at the viewer.

"And that is my plan for Angelico. Thank you!"
