The void is The quantum field?

I found out about the void back in november 2023 on pinterest, and I joined tumblr because of it. Last night, I came across a tiktok video with the title "how to know if you're in the quantum field in your joe dispenza meditation". The girl in the video basically said things like: -Being disconnected from your 3D reality, how disconnected you are from the 3d from the meditation. -in order to create from the quantum, you can't be in space time, you have to be in time space. -You can't be trying to create from 3D, you have to be creating from "NOTHINGNESS" -going to your inner world Link to the tt video: https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSF1nWtBc/ That's what she said. It hits me when she mentioned the word "nothingness" because the void is basically also the nothingness. The void is being everything and NOTHING at the same time. And I thought does that mean the quantum field and the void are the same thing? so if we do joe dispenza quantum field meditation we can get into the void? So you can simply go into the void/quantum field thru his meditation? I'm not promoting doctor joe dispenza or anything i wouldn't call myself an expert im just someone in the void community. Yess, the void has many different names to it and the " Quantum Field " is one of them. I've read becoming supernatural by Dr Joe dispenza and it's phenomenal. Many people have entered the Void State/ Quantum Field. I'm gonna talk about this right now and link some stuff from the book that y'all can read from.

What does Dr Joe dispenza say about the " QUANTUM FIELD " ?

ALRIGHT WE BALL. Time to get on with the story (i have a story planned thats. a real shocker. im ass at writing but ill get this drawn damnit I promise)

This argument is one that just needed to happen. Robbie cant think of the infected he's been killing as people because that would mean he has killed a truly UNCOUNTABLE AMOUNT OF PEOPLE. Lisa has done what she has to in order to survive, and that includes killing the un-infected (which, of course, to Robbie is totally unacceptable). So when he's trying to explain the difference it just comes across JUDGY AS HELL. They're both proud and defensive and bad communicators and the conversation goes BADLY.

This happens while they're on their way to the Beneviento house. Lisa basically goes 'Alright if youre so high and mighty go ahead and beat this one yourself then!' and fucks off back to Duke with the intention to kill as many Lycans in the way as physically possible. Robbie goes ahead to the SPOOKY NIGHTMARE HOUSE trust me I have plans for what he sees in there and its appropriately disturbing but it also spoils the ending I have planned for this whole thing so :) hang in there.

BUT he ends up having a BAD TIME when he's trying to head back and what @rokhal suggested slotted in SO VERY NICE HERE (i feel i have sufficiently LOST MY MIND over the fic you posted i am JKSL:FJSDFDS F UCk)

'Picturing Robbie alone in the Village foraging for gunpowder and cash (because it's a Video Game and they can't just hang out in Donna Benaviento's house throwing the creepy dolls in the river while waiting for rescue after reconnecting the phone lines, no, they have to wander around the entire map) and he's saving the herbs for Gabe and using all the chem fluid for sniper rifle ammo or whatever. And he's fighting off werewolves and it's fine because apparently his health regenerates like mana because he's made of mold.

But as he's wandering around it starts to get harder and harder to remember how much cash and scrap he needs. And he keeps missing shots. And then he gets a little turned around but now he's lost and there's more fkn werewolves, and he's seriously low on ammo and he just wants to get back to Gabe, but he needs to regroup and his hands are numb so he tries to warm them at one of the villager's stoves.

And then he discovers that he's slowly turning into a mindless mold creature, and realizes that the only way to keep Gabe safe from him is to get really really really lost, so lost he'll never find his way back before something kills and eats him.

This does not work, but it does ensure that he is incoherent and barely recognizable by the time Gabe and Lisa track him down.'

Which is all MWAH. CHEFS KISS.

Anyway Robbie is gone for a WHILE and Lisa realizes that the puzzles she needs to solve to move the fuck on require 2 people so she's stuck killing any lycans that stray too close to Dukes camp and hanging out with Gabe. UNTIL, of course, Gabe decides yeah no fuck this fuck that Robbie has been away for WAY to long and I'm going after him. Only problem is that Gabe's abilities are kinda rooted too wherever his sclerotia pods (is adding pods to that redundant? whatever we ball) have had enough time to take root and grow. Meaning, despite her anger towards Robbie at the moment, if Lisa doesen't want Gabe caught, dragged to Mother Miranda and dismembered, she's gotta go with him (also featuring @moosemonstrous hilarious idea of her being proud of Gabe's attempted intimidation).

When they DO track him down he's barely awake. He keeps wandering in one direction then looks like he wants to turn around and go another but he keeps FORCING HIMSELF to go the other way (generally I think he would be a decent bit stronger, but fighting his instincts this hard make him seem more aimless. Robbie is borderline unstoppable when trying to get to his brother, but right now he's NOT trying to get to his brother. you feel me?). Lisa goes up first to make sure he's not going to lose his shit or something. He basically falls onto her with the single saddest "m'sorry" ever heard on planet Earth. If it's for FALLING on her or if its for the CONVERSATION earlier, Lisa isn't quite sure. But it's been years since anyone has apologized to her for anything and thats enough for her to decide she should at least sling him over her shoulder like a sack of potatoes back to Dukes camp.

They make it back to the Dukes camp and give Robbie a couple of med kits (GOOP JUICE!!!!!) and he's a little more coherent. He's still trying to stay away from Gabe even though everything in him is saying 'STAY CLOSE' but he's got SOME brain space available because at least he's in line of sight now. Scrambled brain time is not the BEST for trying at an apology but hey, Robbie isn't really known for his great ideas and he tries anyway.

They're on better terms after this. The communication is still weird but hey its them so everything is weird. Plus they get some extra bonding time because I also snatched rokhals OTHER suggestion of

'....Been thinking maybe The Duke has a recipe that would heal Robbie...requiring meat from a golden dancing fish and the breast of the blue bird that haunts the graveyard and the tenderloin of the magnificent boar that sires all the swine in the Village...or something. So Gabe and Lisa have to go hunting while keeping Robbie calm...'

Ah yes. the high end flesh of the Great Village Fuck Boar. Delightful.

Cause I mean he's BETTER but still not GREAT. I think now that he's with Gabe he would be unable to leave him again while like this. Gabe would HAVE to go with them (we can get >:] 'Robbie goes into an overprotective frenzy and sword hands himself to hack some poor lycan that got too close in half' its a good time [its not. sword hand is very disturbing to him])

So anyway what Im TRYING to say is that the brainworms will continue

HOWARD CHARLES!!!!!! HE IS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!

(also shoutout to anyone who recognizes the lyrics in the art) Ok anyways well its time for character info!!! (um, it's kind of a lot)

Howard Charles (Charlie):

I gave a brief amount of info on him on my last post so its time to elaborate!! He works at the CCC, he's not exactly on the forefront of dealing with chaos, he is more or less just a repair man. Although he is just a repairman, he is experienced with electrical work. (this would come back to help Luccille later) He just chills out in their facilities, repairing stuff and making sure all equipment runs smoothly.

Charlie is actually quite interested in investigating anomalies, mostly cause he is an anomaly himself. His chaos levels are too low for the CCC to exterminate him. The CCC hired him in order to monitor him incase something happens with his chaos levels. His "anomalous property" is literally just having a brick head... Absolutely no one knows how or why he has it, not even himself. His abnormality is so pointless that he just functions like your average stickman, infact it leans more towards being an inconvienence cause he needs to get head accessories specifically tailored to fit his block head... He wants to figure out why he has a block head.

"What am I..... Why do I even exist..... Why am I like this???" -Howard having an existential crisis probably

^^^such a miniscule detail but his hair is fluffy and when he puts his hat on it makes his hair sad and flat (this is visible in the last post i made of him and Luccille)

In terms of personality, he's a chaotic fella and he likes to do dubious things. He's not exactly stupid, he just likes pulling stupid stunts. He is kinda selfish and doesn't really care for other's lives that much. He doesn't mind killing people, which is kinda reflective on how the CCC would do anything to terminate chaos. If its for the better, he'd hurt someone without thinking much about it. (Meeting Luccille makes him start to question this way of thinking)

Oh and some miscellaneous stuff, his primary weapon choice is a pipe wrench. He also uses other tools like crowbars and regular wrenchs, its just that he prefers the pipe wrench out of all of his choices. When he's not busy trying to figure out what he is, Charlie is particulary interested in the Toppat Clan. The toppat clan is a chaotic nightmare for the CCC!!!! (genuine question, how does the CCC respond to anomalous things in the toppat clan..) Anyways, Charlie is quite fascinated by the process of fusion, it seems that fusion is an advantage used by the toppats in battle.

FUCK IT IM GOING TO TALK ABOUT THE PRESTIGE (2006) WHICH IS MY FAVORITE MOVIE EVER

Okay this was originally just gonna be a silly addition to a shitpost but I'm dedicating a whole ass post so I can gush about The Prestige (2006), which is my favorite movie of all time.

Before I go into it, here's what it's about. Some of you may be familiar with the plot of The Prestige, but for those of you who aren't, do not be alarmed, the summary that you're about to read is considered safe. And any spoilers are after the read more.

The Prestige is a movie directed by Christopher Nolan, who also did Memento, Inception, and Dark Knight, which are all also incredible, but I'll save rambles on those for a later day or for a white guy who makes film-based video essays on Youtube. The story revolves around two rival magicians played by Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale, leading to it being called "Batman vs. Wolverine: Magic Edition ft. David Bowie". Oh yeah also David Bowie is in this as Nikola Tesla. The movie opens with a magic show that ends with the death of Wolverine, with Batman being the primary suspect. The story is framed as Batman reading through Wolverine's diary in jail as they attempt to learn one another's tricks.

Just like any magic show, learning the secret to the tricks reframes parts of the movie, so I'm putting the actual analysis behind this spoiler cut. If you haven't seen The Prestige yourself, PLEASE find a way to watch it. I can't recommend it enough.

Okay, now that the noobs are gone, I'm gonna refer to them by Angier and Borden instead of Wolverine and Batman. And now that you know the twist because you TOTALLY didn't open the read more without watching it, we'll call the surviving Borden twin "Fallon", since the difference between the two twins is a very big part of the movie.

Before I go into anything I'm gonna say this miscellaneous thing because I literally just realized it after loving this movie for YEARS. This story contains the feud of two visionaries who constantly sabotaged and stole from one another while they tried to do amazing things in their field, and such a feud led to some significant violence. But anyway, enough talking about Tesla and Edison, let's get onto the actual story of Angier and Borden. (As snarky as that comparison was, it really adds to the speeches Tesla gives Angier, along with the parallel between cats and birds but thats a whole other rant)

One thing I adore about the movie is that it addresses a theme of sacrifice in exchange for spectacle. Sacrifices had to be made in order to put on a show. Borden obviously knew this perfectly well, since he was actively playing out that sacrifice. But Angier was obsessed with discovering a way to bypass that sacrifice. You can see this with how Borden's far less bothered by killing birds while Angier has Cutter create contraptions to save the birds. Angier begins to understand the sacrifice while using a double, but even the sacrifice of being under the stage while the audience applauds is too much for him. In the end, Angier DOES sacrifice, but also doesn't. His sacrifice isn't half of his life in the way Borden/Fallon's is (with each one living half of a life), but living half of the life by way of Russian Roulette (with entering the machine either killing him or letting him live his full life). Ironically the "die or live a full life" thing comes back for the Borden/Fallon combo in the end.

And you could be forgiven for thinking that perhaps since Angier is attempting to find a way to create spectacle without harm, he's in the right here. After all, in the end, the only thing he's truly sacrificing is himself. While Borden/Fallon's lifelong sacrifice had a dramatic impact on Sally and Olivia (the two main characters who truly did nothing wrong and did not deserve this), if Angier just did this trick and called it a day, it wouldn't hurt anyone except his own clones, which seemed to accept the coin flip. But the other aspect of Angier (and to a somewhat lesser extent Borden, and to an WAY LESSER extent Fallon) is obsession with being the best. And in terms of that particular theme, I think that the film says all it needs to about that.

I'm sure I could go on, but I've spent the last few days adding more and more to this draft so I figure I should just let it go into the world. I love this movie so so much you guys.....

But my question is(directed towards anon): why do you have to change a character in order to relate to them.

Also it really seems like you are just trying to make it seem like I'm against such people. Or even the identies or traits themselves. Which shouldnt need explaining that i dont, but here we are, i dont have a fucking problem with people with any such identities, and appearances. I dont have a problem with characters having such identities and appearances.

The problem does not lie in what is changed or added, but instead WHY it is changed or added to an already established character.

What it sounds like is that you (gen) are unable to relate to anyone who is in anyway different to you, does not meet certain standards or requirements, or cant fit into a box that you are able to understand and comprehend.

Like.. its no different from cishet people going "oh i dont relate to this character cuz theyre gay or trans, or not a vsco girl" or smth like that, and then changing the character.

I get it. These kinds of people arent the most popular, and are very rare in media(though are actually becoming increasingly more common). So you think you need to change existing characters to relate to them or be seen and included.

And ... Idk how to explain how damaging that way of thinking and treating others that way is. And you cant tell me its just characters because ive seen how queer people treat cishet people and characters. Like they are somehow lesser or boring.

And i saw how some people commented on my usage of "woke" i realize now that may have made me seem like the kind of person who hates those things, but im not, and it was more towards... Like how so many people in fandom engage in performative activism. They do all this stuff for praise and to seem like a better person. Thats what i mean by woke if that makes sense.

Like honestly i think itd be way healthier to make ocs/self inserts and draw or write them with characters being supportive or just... Acting normally. Which is already a thing. The selfship community and ocxcanon community is very much alive and it doesnt even have to be ship. i guarantee more people, even people who dont relate, would enjoy people making and including more ocs in fandom.

Also "inflammatory language" (or just how i speak when annoyed i suppose) seems pretty on par for a blog dedicated to people complaining about fandom sooo, gotta remember im a real human writing this and not some machine that'll write everything in the best way possible.

for archival reasons, and because rise has officially ended, i'm coping by looking back at the past two years and thinking about the master utsushi rabbit hole. this is based on a long reply i sent to a mutual but i think it deserved to have its own post where others can read it and i can expand further on certain details. or something. i don't know. i have no idea who will read this but if you do, please enjoy...

he was there regardless.

i wound up getting attached to utsushi-kyokan (master/instructor utsushi), ウツハン/utsuhan (utsushi x hunter) ship, and finding his Japanese fan community late 2021, and i've been chatting with mutuals and friends i made there since. at that time, capcom had opened up pre-orders for his nui (plushie). this plush is lovingly referred to as "Unui-kun", and people love to take him around and bring him places. here's my Unui-kun in new york city lol

fans love to dress him up and make clothing and accessories for him. had i known just how attached i would become, i would not have set my Unui-kun to ship via surface mail delivery because it took about 2-3 months extra for him to arrive... ;;

but anyway, it seemed that his popularity was growing because they continued to make more merch of him. he seems to have more than any of the other characters.

many of these are limited print/pre-order only, or were from specific events like the capcom cafe features. trying to get his merchandise became crazy, because scalpers started to pick up on how badly people wanted goodies of him?!

just how popular is this guy?! what's with the character tax!!

and how did this even happen... we're playing monster hunter, not an idol game! but i think it really speaks a lot for itself how rise had such colorful characters that you could get attached to. it seems he really jives with many female and queer players, so good on capcom for that hehe. many of the japanese fans i've met are either older women, very often mothers, or gnc, which i found to be really cool. the english-speaking utsushi fans are usually the same, too. the solidarity is real...

I found out that a lot of ppl, including myself, shared a similar experience: they missed out on a majority of utsushi's flavor text in base rise bc they didn't talk to him or the other NPCs very much during village and high rank quests, and therefore didn't even think much of him until after the fact. people double-taking when going through the game again and actually catching on to his antics... I think what really got things going was when they released his DLC voice and learned about his, uh, extremely affectionate lines towards the hunter when it comes to mew mew and blowing a kiss LOL. (the "welcome back, master!" line?!?! there's so much art of him in a maid outfit... and the way he says ace/manadeshi in his sleep at the table?!?! scandalous?!?!) even for me, he got my attention only once i saw the official art of him (realizing "hey he's got a cute design actually") and eventually encountering utsushi x hunter fanart on pixiv. another thing that got me noticing him was brian david gilbert's now deleted tweet about how zac efron and utsushi are the same. thankfully, we have the internet archive to save the existence of this post and i have to make sure people experience this lost media.

once i realized how weirdly close he was to the hunter, the gears started turning

i confirmed that ppl really did notice that it was unusual for an instructor character to refer to his pupil as "manadeshi (beloved/dearest disciple)" in the manner that he does, being so close to them in a way that felt so familiar and warm. he was already popular enough that by valentine's day 2022, fans literally sent real chocolates to capcom addressed to utsushi. i knew about this for a while, but i was shook that they wound up officially addressing that this really happened during the last update video.

after they received his chocolates, they immediately got one of the (female) illustrators on board to quickly draw that really cute valentine's day art of utsushi. the japanese tweet for that artwork had even a little bit more text than the english one…

that "i'll always be watching over you" line…

(and while i'm here, i have to mention the valentine's day art we got for 2023- i made a separate post about THAT.)

we started to suspect capcom caught on to this niche community's love for utsushi, and they started to kind of... troll us??? LOL.

throughout the previews of sunbreak last year, they would start obsessively sneaking utsushi into those chibi artworks. and when npc followers were announced, people were scrambling to find out if he was going to be one of them, but there also was some weird radio silence about him for a bit...

in one of the earlier trailers that showed the elgado hub for the first time, there was a very short part of the clip where ppl could see someone standing in the distance at the corner of the screen. all the utsushi fans went nuts because they were taking a magnifying glass and zooming up at there wondering if it was really him, because everyone wanted him to be there in sunbreak LOL.

of course we'd eventually find out that would be his perch for most of the game! it was only during the final preview trailer before the release of sunbreak did they finally announce utsushi as a follower, as if they were saving the best for last. and sunbreak dropped, we got to see him in elgado and enjoy hunting with him. and it didn't end there. he wound up being featured in two of the short stories released last summer, and we would not forget this incident.

when i think about how easy it is to just play through the story and miss out on following specific out-of-the-way flavor texts, let alone know about all this outside of the game, i wonder if utsushi joining the hunter in the battle against amatsu in the penultimate battle was strange, because he has such a spotlight on him, even being the one who allows you to ride an apex which was normally impossible. if people didn't acknowledge him before, certainly people would love him now.

his final line after you defeat amatsu: it's cute and silly in english... but in japanese, his line and delivery was extremely, almost unabashedly... romantic. many people were shocked because it sounded like a fervent confession.

"I'll say it once more... You are my pride, my beloved disciple."

finally, during the last update video…

we got this line straight from the director LOL. utsushi wound up being his personal favorite character in rise, and perhaps why we wound up seeing more and more of him in sunbreak.

all in all, if you kept up with the flavor text of rise, and if you followed utsushi's dialogue throughout the base game and expansion, the emotional pay off at the end was even better! and it is a shame when this stuff is mostly optional or you have to go out of the way for it, with so much being missable with every bit of progression. but making a monhun where story and character interactions are pushed more… i think they were on to something. it's probably something that could be divisive, but personally I think they should go all in on it more in the future. Rise proved that they could make charming and memorable (not to mention, named) characters... if they lean into it more in a future entry, then i hope they do it in a way where everyone can enjoy it and not feel like they missed out. but I also hope they would make it so that people don't feel overwhelmed with flavor text... it comes down to taste, but i think i have faith that monhun can try making more character-driven stories while still keeping the core of the series in tact.

here's a t-shirt of utsushi and kagami you can pick up on amazon right now. kagami was a very interesting arc when he was first shown- he was introduced as a long time friend of utsushi, training together in the past, but eventually parting ways.

his seiyuu in japanese is a sentai actor who loves monster hunter, so essentially, kagami is lowkey like a self-insert for him lol. he's goofy in english because he's voiced by a certain youtuber, but in japanese he takes a different direction of silly because he has a "chuunibyou" edgelord cringe way of talking. it's such a shame that kagami wasn't really in the game itself besides being mentioned in a few mission descriptions because i would've loved to see him interact with utsushi and the hunter, and i wish the royal knights and many of the NPCs had more cutscenes or something. it makes me think, if it weren't for the pandemic, could rise's story and scenario have been something more because of the DLC voice characters like hibasa/monju/kagami? anyway, a popular headcanon is that utsushi and kagami are ex-boyfriends lol (i personally like this one and adapted it for my utsuhan fanfics). but there are even those who ship kagautsu too (although it is rare because people overseas are a little wary of shipping characters who are based on real people).

s6e5 spoilerz!!

actual post talking about the episode YIPPEE!!! I LIKED IT!!! for the most part! i’m gonna start with the junk i didn’t like, cause there’s not much of it and i need to get it out of my system. for starters the erm. incest plotline. i’m honestly not sure why the writers have such a tendency towards this stuff. usually they seem to be pretty smart with reusing jokes or plot threads, but this just. like aside from being uncomfortable and weird to watch it just makes me think “do you not have anything better?”. why is this the safest plot line to fall back on in these recent seasons? i also hated the tiktok references at the beginning. i think i generally just hate any sort of pop culture references because they tend to become dated very easily/quickly while also doing nothing for the episode, aside from ruining any kind of immersion. AND MORTYYYYY justice for my boy. they are excluding him on purpose !! WHY!!!! i can understand he wouldn’t have worked very well with this episode, but this season seems to really favor either Rick or Literally Any Other Smith. but ummm next week’s promo had morty in it so im holding out hope guys! here’s how morty can still win!

ok anyway now that i’m no longer harboring any deep rooted hatred... THE ANIMATION!!!!! it was very cool, especially in fight scenes. something i noticed a lot was rick’s hair and suit/tie moving as he twists and turns, and i thought that was such a nice detail. it’s really simple but it added lots for me. AND THE JUMPS!!! i love his extending limbs, especially near the end of the episode where he jumps around on a bunch of boxes and moves kind of like a slinky, SOO neat. my only gripe is with the cold open, where he eats his noodles with tube arms. i dunno, felt kinda weird and unnecessary. small thing though. summer and morty in the beginning were also surprisingly endearing, and it has made me realize my desperation to see more of those two hanging out.

OH BUT JERRY AND RICK’S DYNAMIC!!!! i loved them in this episode, and i liked how it was kind of continuing s5e5′s development(kinda of neat that they’re both the 5th ep of their respective seasons). they’re both kinda warming up to each other, and it’s cool to watch this petty, sarcastic and, at times, surprisingly functional friendship. like when they talk in the vent, jerry is genuinely upset and rick offers some mild level of comfort by trying to crack a joke. and when they find the monster and jerry says he’s not sure what’s going on, rick just explains it!!!!! which okay yeah is also just to feed the audience necessary info, but i think the fact that rick doesn’t throw any insults really shows his development(also autistic infodump moment teehee). kind of off topic, but the scene w/ jerry’s second transformation made me wonder what his parents think of rick. like they see/ know he does some weird wacky shit, but like ... how much do they really know? or care? from what we’ve seen of them, they appear... pretty neutral. “oh well our son’s father in law is a scientist, no biggie,”. which is interesting to me. kinda wanna see some proper lengthy interactions between the grandparents. also rick joking(???) about fucking jerry’s mom made me laugh. okay alsooo i’m pretty sure i saw someone mention this, but in order for rick’s “you will make a friend” fortune to come true he would also have to consider jerry his friend as well B)) very cute.

THEYRE SO FUNNY

Like Darius and Willow's relationship is definitely tumultuous and antagonistic and this initially had Hunter very nervous. He had to attempt to be the mediator when the two are about to go at it like feral cats. He's in the middle like "Okay, okay, okay, okay. How about we all just relax?" Only to eventually realize that he does NOT have the social skills to curb whatever the fuck is happening here. If his girlfriend wants to scalp his weekend father, she is far too stubborn to be talked out of it and vice versa. So he has accepted that this is just how its gonna be.

But its so strange because while they bicker constantly, they also seem to have this overly familiar relationship that Hunter doesn't quite understand. He honestly feels pretty locked out of the loop whenever hes with the two but he isn't so much upset by that as he is INSANELY CONFUSED. Like??? What the fuck is going on??? Usually when the three of them are together, Hunter is occupying all his brain power to figure out what the FUCK these two are talking about.

Willow: Boscha keeps vagueing about me on her fensta and it's honestly kinda funny.

Darius: Uck. Well don't just tell me about it. Show me the screenshots. I need to see how petty she's acting.

Hunter: Whats "vagueing"? What's "fensta"? What's a "screenshot"? Why can't you people just use real words?!

Willow: Oh honey, I'm sorry. Well "vagueing" means--

Darius: Google it, gramps.

Willow: Be nice to him.

Hunter: Yeah, be nice to me.

Darius: I am! I just helpfully suggested a place to find answers!

And its shit like. Hunter will show up at Willow's doorstep for a date and just as he's about to knock on the door, Darius will swing it open and stride past him.

Hunter: Darius?!

Darius: Hunter.

Hunter: Wh-you-I-....why were you just in Willow's house?

Darius: Because she's hopeless, that's why. The little purple haired girl is busy today and she needed someone to set her on the right path. Wanted to impress you. Isn't that so very cute? Hair, make-up, outfit, etectera. Of course she didn't care about my plans for the day. Just demanded I get my butt over here and be her little fairy godmother. Real bossy, that girl.

Hunter: Wh--

Darius: Anyway, I did a fantastic job obviously. You're welcome. *Winks and struts away before Hunter can get another word in*

And yes. Yes absolutely. Willow's sixteenth birthday rolls around and Hunter panics big time. Because not only is this her first birthday that he gets to celebrate with her, it's her first birthday he spends as her boyfriend. He knows he wants to patch up a whole dress but it's simply the matter of picking out a dress. And god, if there's one thing Hunter doesn't know shit about, it's fashion.

I feel like, while Hunter is still new to this whole tailoring hobby, Darius is a pro and can probably make some excellent quality clothing. So he makes Willow a dress himself. Hunter helps to the best of his ability.

Hunter: Sorry I think we're just gonna have to buy one. I don't....know her exact measurements.

Darius: That's fine. I do.

Hunter: What?

Darius: I've resized plenty of clothes for her before. That reminds me, I need to teach you to do that. She's only gonna get buffer after all.

Darius makes Hunter promise to not tell Willow who made the dress. ("We can't have her incorrectly assuming I like her.") But Hunter is a SHIT liar so he's just very awkwardly explaining how he just happened to stumble upon it at the market and thought "huh. That would look nice on Willow. Haha....ha."

And of course Willow knows the patches are Hunter's handiwork. But when it comes to the dress itself....

"Wow. It fits me perfectly. It flatters me perfectly. It's my exact style. The colour matches my skin tone. It's...like it was made for me. What a coincidence, huh?"

And Hunter, sweating absolute bullets is like "HAHAH. Yeah. Coincidences are crazy, right?"

Willow decides to let Darius get away with this one. For now. She'll put it in the pocket of her beautifully crafted dress (he put POCKETS in it, holy shit!!!) and use it as leverage once the opportunity arises.

yall i wrote this fic so long ago???? like back when i started i thought i was gonna post it on my quotev long ago???? anyway i don’t have the heart to delete it so im gonna post it on here and pray you don’t tear me apart for my shitty writing.

originally this was gonna be part of praise, so ya there’s some similiarities lololol

You weren’t the sorcerer in your family, your sister was.

Gifted with great power, you watched her delve into the world of magic. She fought monsters, made potions, and even made friends with world-renowned sorcerers.

But jealousy wasn’t something you were used to. Not when your sister shared so much of her world with you. Despite not having magic, you knew how to make enchantment elixirs and weak poisons. You met her familiars and her other sorcery friends.

But the one thing your sister never wanted to share with you was her pact with a demon.

“Mammon?” You repeated, “I’ve never heard of him.”

Your sister sighed, rubbing her hands together, “The avatar of greed. A demon with a vast amount of power and treachery. He is one of the rulers of Hell.”

Your eyes widened, adjusting yourself on the couch, “You made a contract with a powerful ruler of Hell? That’s amazing-” She cut you off with a shake of her head.

“It’s not amazing. It’s dangerous. Since we made a contract with eachother, he’ll be coming to this house for anything I need. Though he’s supposed to follow my orders, there’s no way to know that he won’t try to manipulate you, even if I forbid him to.” Her eyes were filled with seriousness and her voice dropped.

You watched as she leaned back, massaging her forehead with her fingers.

“I don’t want to do this,” She confessed, “But money is scarce right now, having the avatar of greed might help us with our funds.” Her eyes met yours.

“You need to promise me that you won’t fall for his tricks. Don’t get close to him And don’t trust him.”

You thickly swallowed. “I won’t.”

For a being who was supposedly 5000 years old, the Avatar of Greed lacked any sort of refinement.

You thought it was a trick your sister was warning you about. A trap to get you to feel some sort of pity for him.

But forty-five minutes later, he was still struggling with organizing the potions and enchantments.

“Shit,” You heard him mutter under his breath, “What did that witch say again? Does the enchantment of fog go with or without the potion of neutrality. Dammit, I forgot.”

He was an...interesting character, to say the least. He didn’t resemble anything of a demon at all- the most unusual thing about him was his white hair. There were no horns or wings or tail. Just a frustrated man who was trying to figure out your sister’s messy notes.

You decided to see if he needed any assistance after he grabbed a magnifying glass to read your sister’s notes better. Your sister never forbid you from talking to him after all.

“Do you need any help?”

His sudden scream startled you. He whipped around, his voice going up an octave.

“Don’t sneak up on me like that!”

“Oh,” You took a step back, “Did I scare you? I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to.” You offered him a sheepish smile.

He ignored your apology, seeming to realize what he said. His startled look instantly moved to an aggressive scowl.

He coughed, “Ya’ didn’t scare me. I’m a demon, okay? We don’t get scared. Now run along human. The Great Mammon is busy with something.” He lazily pointed to the box of potions.

“Yeah, I see that,” You acknowledged, “I was just wondering if you needed any help, that’s all.”

“The Great Mammon,” He loved talking in third person, didn’t he? “Doesn’t need a puny human’s help, okay? I’m fine!”

“Oh okay then,” You shrugged, “In that case I’ll just-” You turned to walk away.

“Wait!” He suddenly called out, “Before ya’ go...where does the enchantment of fog go again?”

You smiled before you turned around, pointing to the top of the shelves.

“There, right next to the set of elixirs,” You said, picking another bottle out of the box.

“Right,” Mammon muttered, “And just so ya’ know, I can do this ALL by myself, okay? I don’t need some human telling me what to do.”

“Of course,” You said, smiling, “You’re right.”

You supposed that’s how it started. The unlikely friendship between human and demon, much to the disappointment of your sister. Thankfully, she didn’t voice her disapproval too much, only choosing to shake her head whenever the demon showed any affinity towards you.

And you hoped that it was affinity Mammon felt, and not the taste of your soul. Though the cheap gifts he brought back from his home were sweet, you knew there was a line you couldn’t cross. At the end of the day, Mammon was a demon. He lived to manipulate and take. There was nothing more that excited him.

Boundaries were important and you prided yourself on strictly following the rules you made.

“Hey. Hey!” A hand waved in front of you, “Did you zone out again?”

You blinked, gazing at the demon in front of you. He pulled his hand back, looking at you with disapproval.

“That’s a real bad habit, you know that?” He crossed his arms, “I was talkin’ too!”

“You were? Sorry,” You turned back towards the window.

Right. You and Mammon were star gazing.

The stars were shining brightly, despite the blinding city lights. You rested your head on your hands.

“I was just thinking about how long you’ve been here-with us. It’s been six months ever since you started the pact, right?”

“-Contract,” Mammon corrected, “I started a contract with the witch. Pacts are different.”

“Oh?” This was the first time you’ve heard about this, “What’s the difference?”

Mammon sighed, but you knew he liked talking, “Do I gotta’ explain everything to you? Pacts are bound by the soul. A demon accepts a deal from a human and binds their soul with it. It’s forever, until the human themselves break it.”

You nodded, “What about contracts, then?”

“They’re like pacts, except the deal is bound by an object. Usually it’s a piece of paper or a bag of money.”

You had to hold in a laugh, “Did my sister bind you with a bag of money, Mammon?”

He waved you off, “She bonded us to a glass bottle,” He said, looking disappointed, “I should’ve asked her to bind me to a check of 100,000 grimm or something.”

You nodded, still smiling, “But...what’s stopping you from just breaking the bottle? Wouldn’t that end the contract?”

“Demons can’t do that-not to contracts,” Mammon shrugged, tapping his fingers against the window, “Some kinda’ magic crap makes ‘em invincible to us. But humans, on the other hand, ‘could break the bottle no problem.”

He gave you a look, tilting his head, “Why don’t you do it for me, huh? ‘could save me a lotta’ trouble.”

You scoffed rolling your eyes, “I’m not doing that. You brought yourself into this, don’t make me bail you out. And I don’t get why you’re so mean to my sister...she’s nice...”

Your voice drifted off, letting your last words simmer in the night. Your sister was nice and she cared for you. But these days, she felt so far away. You supposed it was because of her work, and the growing lack of money. Perhaps you were being too clingy; your sister was struggling and all you could do was complain about her distance.

Mammon watched you for a moment.

“So...don’t humans move out when they turn adults? Why’d you stick around with your sis? You like gettin’ poisoned or somethin’?”

His voice made you laugh and you shook your head.

“I guess...it’s because she’s the only family I have left. I don’t know- I guess I’d be lonely if I ever left her. If it was just me...all alone in the world....” You shook your head, giving a sad smile.

“I don’t think I could handle it.”

“So...you’re afraid of being alone?” Mammon asked, he sounded far away.

“Yeah, I guess that’s the shortest answer. And I think my sister feels the same, being alone that is. So we stick together.” You nodded.

“So, would you...if I...” He trailed off, glancing around, before he groaned, “Ugh, nevermind.”

You looked back at him with a smile, “Nevermind what?”

“Nevermind, okay!? Why are you humans so nosy all the time! Argh!” He snapped back and you grinned wider.

“Okay okay! I’m sorry!” You laughed and together you basked in the moonlit night.

Your snapping point came when your sister locked herself in her room for three days.

You couldn’t handle it anymore. The distance. The cold replies. Was she even eating? Even her familiars didn’t know, let alone Mammon.

Hesitantly, you knocked on the door, “Hey,” You called, “Are you okay in there? Do you need food? Why don’t you come outside for a second?”

Nothing. Absolute silence.

You bit your lip, looking at the doorknob. You were grateful that it wasn’t locked. Hesitantly, you creaked the door open, squinting into the darkness.

“How have you been seeing in here?” You mumbled, “There’s barely even a lamp on. You could go blind.”

You took a shaky breath creeping into the darkness, searching around the room. It was cold, to the point where you were shivering.

A voice croaked your name and you whirled around, stopping as you met your sister’s haggard figure.

She looked so horribly gaunt, and she looked so frail- you knew she hadn’t been eating. Her eyes were sunken in, cheeks were hollow. She tilted dangerously forward, and you rushed over to catch her before she fell.

But, despite her ragged appearance, her mouth was stretched into a bright smile. She grinned at you, eager.

“You’re here!” She exclaimed, “Oh, you’re here.”

She enveloped you in a hug, and you slowly hugged her back. What was going on? Why was your sister acting so strange?

“Are-are you okay?” You hesitantly asked as she gripped you tighter.

“Yes!” She paused, “Well, I will be fine. I’ll be extremely fine. Now, come. Come closer!” She urged you to follow her into the darkness.

You hesitated before finally walking slowly towards her.

She grinned.

“I solved it.”

“What?”

“I solved it! Our problems! They’ll be gone!”

What was she talking about? You looked at her and she finally understood why you were so confused. Clicking her tongue, she urged you on her bed, taking out a thick book.

Flipping through the pages, she stopped, grinning at one of the ancient sheets of papers.

“Here...it’s here,” She rasped.

It was dark, and you couldn’t see very well, but you could make out an image of a man with two horns and a tail. Surrounding him were people carrying knives and crosses.

A chill went down your spine.

“Do you know how much a Demon’s horn costs?” Your sister whispered into your ear.

“30 million.”

“...What are you saying?” You slowly turned to her, “You don’t mean....Mammon? I don’t-”

“Yes! Mammon! The answer to all our problems,” She stood up, glee shining through her dead eyes.

“I’ll kill him,” You slapped a hand over your mouth, “He can’t attack me because of our contract, so I’ll kill him right now. Then, we can sell his horns. Doesn’t that sound amazing? We could live the life we always wanted.” She crooned.

Was money really that tight? To point your sister was willing to kill someone-your friend- in order to earn money? You shook your head, reaching out as she stood up.

“Wait...please you cant-”

“Don’t worry,” She patted your head in a cheap imitation of love, “I’ll take care of everything.”

She left you in her room, in the dark, sauntering away to collect supplies. You sucked in a breath, your hands felt clammy, cold. You didn’t know what to do.

One thing was for sure, you could not let your sister kill Mammon.

‘If I end the contract....will he be freed?’ You numbly thought, standing up, ‘He could escape, right? Run away and never come back?’ You looked around her room, trying to find the one thing to save Mammon.

There. Nestled on the top of her shelves, sat a small, clear bottle, covered with enchantments.

That was the one. You were sure of it.

You wasted no time, grabbing it from the shelves, ignoring your thudding heart as you gripped the bottle tightly.

Then, you dropped it.

The relief you felt when it shattered was immense. You collapsed on the bed, ignoring the sting of the shards as they cut in your foot.

And then you felt guilty.

“No,” You told yourself, breathing hard, “This is for the best, for both Mammon and my sister,”

Right. Your sister wasn’t in her right mind. She’d thank you for doing this. And then you’d be okay.

You brought your legs to your chest.

You’d all be okay.

Except...it wasn’t okay.

You didn’t know how it happened or what happened either.

All you knew was the dead body laying on the ground, wasn’t Mammon.

It was your sister.

“Mammon?” Your voice felt dry, like you desperately needed a glass of water.

He was in his demon form. You’d almost forgotten he had one. Turning to you slightly, you expected him to start apologizing, going off in tangents, saying this entire situation was a misunderstanding.

You didn’t expect him to start smiling.

“You did it,” He grinned, “You freed me.”

You stepped back, watching with wide eyes as he calmly stepped over the limp body. Your breaths felt shallow, like you weren’t getting enough air.

“No,” You shook your head, “No no. Mammon what did you do-”

He was fast, too fast for you to comprehend, as he wrapped you in his arms, hushing you.

“It’s okay. Don’t worry about her. We’re both free now, isn’t that amazing?”

“What-what are you talking about?” You said hoarsely, your voice muffled because of his clothes, “Did you-did you kill her?”

‘Deny it. Lie if you have to. Just please don’t say-’

“Yes.”

You squeezed your eyes shut. Your voice died in your throat as you willed yourself to speak.

“Mammon, Mammon let me go,” You begged, “Please let me go. Please stop touching me-”

His grip on you tightened. He clicked his tongue, like he was annoyed.

“Stop complaining already,” He groaned, “Why are you being so loud?”

Your mouth opened and closed, continuing to stare and your sister, your family. Why wasn’t he showing even an ounce of emotion? Guilt? Regret? You’d prefer if he showed pride, happiness-anything over...nonchalance, the casualness in his eyes. Like he didn’t care.

Oh, right. He didn’t care did he? Your sister and you were just humans to him. Insects.

“You said you didn’t want to be lonely, right?” You didn’t respond. He pulled away, eyes sharpened.

Hesitantly, you nodded.

He smiled, letting claws drift over your neck.

“I’ll make sure you won’t be.”

this verse radiates energy from the realization he has of his history with the federation combined with them realizing that he's figured them out and need to make quick work of him in order to keep him in line. not only messing with him physically in experiments but also mentally in making sure to break him down and making him look crazy in order to decrease his threat levels towards any future acts they may commit against the people of the island. also the 'deemed and delivered a crime' can also associate with the brief period of certain members of the island learning about phils federation lineage and creating contingency plans behind his back in case he goes rogue to attack them. (of course he does but not willingly ;-;)

oh this part verrrrry specifically is what made everything click right in my mind for this au- especially when thinking about his friendship with etoiles. when I hear this section, I got reminded of the 'repairs' the federation forces onto phil with every trip, how everytime they continue and continue to crack him more and more and shatter him into pieces but he keeps getting. back. up. no matter what they do to him, at the end it's etoiles who's there to keep reminding him that he is still his own person, at his core he is whole and the federation can't take away who he is for long. everytime the federation fucks him up and tries to make it seem as if nothing had happened with the memory wipes of said experiments, this time,, phil has people alongside him to help him remember who he is. the repetition of 'and it's my whole heart' is so codebreakers in this au with it being phil repeating the mantras etoiles has instilled in his mind that he's still his own person and he is still good despite all the damage the federation not only inflicts on him but attends to inflict onto others. it's very good that many of the island members he surrounds himself with are powerful enough to make sure he isn't hurting others physically. mentally though, seeing a good friend lose himself and have to constantly remind himself of who he is can be taxing on the mind.

the repeating outro reminds me very specifically of the conditioning training the federation instilled in phils head. acknowledging the metaphorical weights they placed upon him to keep him shackled to them and the island- not only when referring to him unconsciously returning to them in times of enhanced stress and post-acts of rule breaking, but in the clips of his wings that leave him physically immobile when in the world of the skies that he so desperately wants to go back too

Honestly the overall song gives me kind of.. angry vibes?? As in connecting it to the code au, it feels like a song that connects to Phils anger towards the Federation that‘s fueled by his close friends, but especially so by Etoiles who has been there for him as much as possible. Repeatingly helping him back up no matter how many times he‘s forced back down to kneel, to submit.

Random thoughts and ramblings about the amazing film Nimona! Warning this is a huge tangent and does talk about spoilers for the movie and a bit of spoilers about the graphic novel (that I haven't read since my copy hasn't arrived yet) also I've tried to write this post like 3 times but it keeps breaking so oof.

Kudos to the creator ND Stevenson who I swear is a massive source of creativinies that I would absorb like a sponge if I had the energy to because everything they're apart of is something I feel like I'd adore if if I took the plunge. Also he identifies as enby transmasc (which, I am too, and I didn't realize how huge of a blow it was to realize that people like me exist). I really ought to look into She-ra and their other works at some point. Anyway, anyway, anyway - this is about Nimona!

I love that this obviously queer movie decided to be release during the later stage of June aka "Pride Month" because I feel like it gives people the chance to watch it with fresh eyes during July, which is Disabled Pride Month (I'm Australian so it isn't really a thing here as far as im aware sadly) which Ballister is such a fantastic and amazing character who is gay and disabled.

He is never portrayed as weak or lesser for his disability, I imagine for people that it'll actually be easy to forget that he is disabled as an amputee with how capable he's written. I feel like it might just go over peoples heads at some point because you never get to see stuff written so well unless if its poking you with it every few episodes or its extremely obvious at a glance. But with Ballister it 'just is who he is' and it moves on to focus on its plot like it has from the beginning.

And its never used as a plot set back or change the storybeat or anything of that sort of matter. Which is amazing. However it isn't just ignored either! He has a moment of weakness when he sees Ambroius again. He hesitates, he withdraws from reach out to him while looking at his arm (Oh, Nemesis!). It is still fresh and new and he's trying to handle it (you're doing great sweetie).

I'm not physically disabled (I do have a weak knee however) but a mentally disabled and experience fatigue constantly and I'm sure I'd have chronic pains if I didn't have a high pain tolerance. So while this sort of character isn't someone I can directly relate to it is someone I can connect with (Although I don't believe you need to be the same as something in order to connect/relate to it).

However I am at home a lot and I don't get exposed much to other people and that includes a lot of people with other cultures, beliefs, body types and disabilities. So being able to see people different than me on the screen is always awesome, and being able to connect with them is too. Which the Queen, Nimona and Ballister is fantastic for everyone and hopefully the Director will give the other sort of audience of this movie a time to think back and work through things.

But I haven't seen many disabled people in media, because I don't really have the energy to engage with much content for long. So I have a limited selection of characters who seem like fantastic representation - because while yes Toph from Avatar the Last Airbender is fantastic she has literal superpowers compared to the every day person so I love and praise how she's handled because everything she does is fantastic-

Seeing Ballister's strong and dedicated personality which still has that life to it made me instantly feel for him along side Hiccup from How to Train your Dragon (And before you ask - no, AstridSpeckles is not due to HTTYD, its inspired from Zelda actually!) And I just love how it was all written and displayed. In HTTYD it was to connect Toothless and Hiccup together in a beautiful narrative. Here they used his arm to make a beautiful narrative too - he uses it, constantly.

He fixes his arm with just one hand which is insane because its also his non dominant hand which wow thats amazing. And he doesn't shy away from using his arm for anything, he still touches people with it, still wields things with as much confidence as ever to do so. He reaches out to Nimona with it too in that scene. Also Ambroius reaches out to hold his hand in that scene too! So tenderly and without hesitation! Which if it was another case with other characters I reckon I'd be a little upset but you see how much they love eachother and how gentle and tactile and soft they are so it is just so beautiful to see here...

Also I don't really know where else to put this but since im on a tangent about Ballister ima just say it here. He is such a fantastic knight! He knew the moment his sword was handed to him that it was off. He knew it didnt feel right, the weight was wrong? Or it just felt off? He knows his sword. He knows his morals. He knows what he has to do to make things right. He never betrayed himself ever!

Also the eye sparkles change. At the start their diamonds, but Ballister's turns into squares as he gets more exposed to different views where Ambroius turns into a triangle as his views are being pulled (the director whispering in his hear, his own heart, and his love for Ballister).

Also he too is a fantastic knight! His life falling apart? Never lashes out. Never hurts those around him (Okay, cutting off an arm isn't a love language.) So yes that is a case where he did hurt someone but that is addressed in its own ways.

But he never hurts or lashes out at the people he's protecting. He could easily just take it out on them, stop caring, fall into a pit of despair at his own problems. But you actively see him dealing with this own issues and then instantly being a knight the next scene and he doesn't falter or fall.

He is also so strong and I love that he had these moments, would of liked some more though but he isn't a main character like Nimona and Ballister so I understand why he didn't.

Also back to Ballister for a moment because the moment he heard Nimona's not really handling the things she's carrying, that she was able to tell him about her most vulnerable, scary and intrusive thoughts after knowing him for so little, that his thoughts in an instant was to get her the hell out of there and go with her.

He would try to work things out with Ambroius I believe, but he saw the hurt of Nimona who he hasn't known that long over the love of his life and said this is my priority. That would be so hard for anyone to do, for example a parent knowing their child is queer and the other parent not accepting them - there are cases where the parents stay together because its too hard for them not too, and lose the kid or kick the kid out.

The fact Ballister in a heartbeat acted accordingly to keep this new precious person in his life to abandon (like they did to him) without hesitation is absolutely insane and I love it so much. Also that it wasn't a move out of malice or defiance. It could of easily of been written differently that they need to protect her and they have to leave right now. But no. He took action (he always takes actions!) and while he lingered on Ambroius, it wasnt hesitation. It wasn't to hurt Ambroius either. He put Nimona being at risk first.

So I've actually been aware of Nimona for a few years now. I've heard about its ups and downs and its eventually cancel to its amazing revival! But I was watching it as a passive observer, never interacting with it because I know I hyper-fixate, I didn't want too get invested and attached and because off the rollercoaster of it not coming to the big screen while being in the fandom at that time (im sorry you are all so much stronger than I am haha!)

However, it is alive and amazing! And I'm finally here in the fandom - I've finally watched it - I've finally decided to order the graphic novel like I planned to back during its first movie announcement so I can quote "Enjoy the movie and then read the book since the books are always better", so I can love both as much as I can, yknow?

From what I've discovered reading online here and there so far (and its likely that this is wrong so take this with a grain of salt since I haven't gotten my graphic novel yet) that apparently that the movie is leaps and bounds improved compared to the graphic novel (Note: Not better, improved.)

Improved origin stories, improved personalities, improved characterizations. So much of the voice actors provide life and inspiration to these characters bringing them to a level that the graphic novels didn't have the resource to do.

I also love how people also aren't going crazy (negatively) about the change of races to the characters - im so used to seeing discourse about this sort of thing but its so accepted here that it is so refreshing to see.

The graphic novel has a larger and looser timeline and I believe a darker story and not as much as a happy ending compared to the movie. I can't wait to read the graphic novel though it looks very interesting!

But the ending of the movie implies such a happier ending for everyone, since apparently I've seen that in the graphic novel Nimona visits Ballister while being shapeshifted as a nurse while he is in hospital and he caught on too late after she says goodbye and he never sees her again and is constantly reminded of her when she sees people with her hair colour and that is so bittersweet!

The fact we get her coming to him at the end with him going HOLY SHIT is because it is saying here that it doesn't end with that note. They are together still. And I really hope something more comes out after this because I need to see a bit more to know what is happening there.

I had written a lot more here but my post keeps breaking and doing ctrl+z is making me lose entire paragraphs and gifs I put in as text breakers so I'm gonna leave this here or maybe do another post when I end up reading the graphic novel, who knows. But yes. I love Nimona :D

OHH HBWBWBWBABBAA GOOOD QUASTIONS OKAY OKAY

the plot... is sooo convoluted so this post is gonna probably end up being really long

So, for PM, Feck and ROY, the way they became guardians is kinda just.. they came to be that way.

PM is the body that A N' and E are within, so obviously they're gonna be the guardian of ANE. Feck, being the main model for 583 and the spider-sonas, he's gonna be the guardian of all of those projects. The real mystery is ROY, who doesn't really seem to be tied to.. anywhere or anything besides Et Cetera itself. So he sorta balances them out, I suppose. Also bc they're the main sonas, which they seem to be..... partially aware of? PM is aware, I think.

And speaking of PM, her plot hasnt been all thought out yet.. but he does have a story going on. It takes place quite a bit before a lot of things in EtC happen, so ANE are like barely existent, and the main people who are here are like.. a few one-off OCs and the guardian trio. Nothing really needs to be controlled, so everything's a bit freeform. At this point, PM is kinda like... a nervous wreck. Not in the social anxiety way, but like, he wants everything to be in some form of order and like is a tad bit of a control freak [they get better dw].

In order to like... keep his head in place, she becomes slightly reliant on a god. Which everyone finds a bit... odd, since no one in EtC is particularly religious in any way. And also no one knows of the god that PM is obsessing with- Like it's not a religion that... exists.. it seems to only exist in PM's mind. But like, as long as she's not constantly freaking out then it should be fine. Anyway, as time goes on, it seems to get like super obsessive and she sees this god in a dream. And I mean, she responds as most would upon seeing a blinding light of a god, she swears devotion or whatever and promises to take care of EtC at the request of the god. And to sorta like.. seal the deal, she gives up her eye and.. maybe stabs herself with a trident? im not sure...

Anyway, she wakes up and is like, "wow what a weird dream!" and then goes about her life pretty normally. Until she runs into.... someone, who points it out like "Dude what is up with your eye" and then she realizes that that dream was totally real and now he actually has to take care of EtC. And that's how she becomes like the superior to.. everyone, then makes ROY and Feck like their right hand.. guys. Then everything kinda proceeds as normal until all the stuff with ANE happens

YES RYAN GUZMAN QUEER THEORY

okay so eddie and ryan have very similar backstories right? both from texas, seem to have been raised with a very clear (slightly toxic) idea of what “masculinity” is. (if this doesn’t make sense i can expand but i don’t think you want that whole rant) they were raised in a fair intolerable environment (meaning the time they were born/grew up and where they were) as far as men exploring their sexuality went (again- this is definitely making generalizations, but stick with me, and i’m technically not wrong given the timeline of societal progression). so ryan has always seemed to value his masculinity and leans into it more than eddie, because eddie has been written in such a way that he can acknowledge and identify the toxicity of the masculinity that he was raised by, and he doesn’t want chris to have that (something something eddie’s handling of generational trauma makes me wanna cry). so eddie, in a way, is like a slightly more enlightened ryan and i wonder if that’s affected ryan. now- the queer part. eddie, i believe, had his gay realization/acceptance largely because he met buck, and it’s been such a magical (albeit not canonically acknowledged) part of his development as he’s grown to let himself love buck in a deeper, realer, more apparent way. (note: ryan totally had a boy crush on oliver and i do not blame him) so portraying this sort of queer journey has to have at least some impact on ryan, in my opinion. if he is queer, i wonder if playing eddie is helping him accept it or just making him want to repress harder.

i hope that makes sense im sleep deprived and have like a grand total of two functioning braincells

OK I see this and several points have been made, specifically about the Buck/Oliver of it all and the emotional/psychological impact playing a character in the midst of such an emotional queer awakening must have. BUT at the same time, I raise you that I don't actually think Ryan is all that stereotypically toxically masculine !! Based on the... *handwaving* FEW times I've gone through every single post on his instagram, 2015-2017 is very much Ryan in his Random Guy Suddenly Becomes Famous, Wow How Cool Is This phase, but 2017 is when he really starts to like mellow out and become more of an Adult about it. He's introspective and really starts to actually, like, consider what kind of human being he wants to be. Also, he's a mama's boy who paints and writes poetry which does not scream aggressive toxic masculinity to me !!!

Anyway, he only went full gym bro after The Incident (which, if we want to delve into full crack conspiracy theory I believe , was kind of a way to create distance between self vs image but i DIGRESS). In fact, I think it's more likely that Ryan influences Eddie's trajectory rather than the other way around, like, not in the sense that he has an abundant sense of creative control because he doesn't, but in the sense that Ryan digs inside currently existing parts of himself in order to play certain nuances to Eddie Diaz because he's already previously walked those paths before rather than the other way around.

I honestly don't know if this makes sense but this is where we're at on ryanguzmaan dot tumblr dot com tonight !

Literally adore how detailed and thouroghly explained these are, and the fact that you pay so much attention and thought to mike's character is honestly so nice. (He's my favorite character and not a lot of people appreciate his complexity like you do)

Your recent post about my mike's guilt over his queerness made me lost my mind man!!! Literally like JAIL JAIL

Thinking about how like Mike feels a sort of guilt for his feelings for Will. AND OMG the way you said that "him asking Will he's the bad guy cause he doesn't why either" IS SO GOOD!!!! CAUSE YES!! if you're don't look into it deep enough, it sort of comes off as condescending or retorical, but Mike is LEGITAMATELY ASKING THAT!!! HE DOESN'T KNOW!! He feels so helpless that at this point, he's rather Will just blame it on him cause he doesn't even know what's done wrong!!!

The thing with the wheeler's household is like you said!! "They don't tell each other what they've done wrong!!" And that's so important when it comes to your kids, cause they NEED to know what they've done wrong, you NEED to tell them in order for them to learn and grow as a person.

But they don't do that, so that manifests as smth that Mike has, which is just unrelentless guilt for everything regardless of what he thinks is his fault or not cause even if it wasn't obvious, it still is right?, he thinks that everything he does is to blame. Because then what else?? He doesn't know how to recognize faults cause he's never been taught to!!

It's always "you should know better" and people expect him to know what's he done wrong instead of COMMUNICATING!!! and so he internalizes that which makes it even worst.

Cause now it's not "Oh i'm to blame for everything" now it's "I'm to blame for everything AND i can't even figure WHY either"

AND, showing up in the sunday afternoon peaceful garden times zone is like a fuckyou to peter too... like a cat pissing on a tree in another cat’s territory. theres two separate sex scenes in this ending (lmaooo) but i dont even really think of this one as like. particularly sexual (or i guess i should say erotic? sex is about power blah blah) so much as ace wanting to assert power over alice and peter and like. the ghost of lorina liddell i guess.

can you see this from heaven? if you could, would this even be the shape your heaven takes? well, in the end youre actually not here to say otherwise . so i will say it as if you’ve seen: haha lorina i am banging your sister

and i think on some level alice knows that lorina... isnt there to catch them in the act. that her objection to this isn’t “whats wrong with you, my sister could walk in on us any second!!!” but “i don’t want you to defile my perfect memories of this place, and of my perfect sister”.

-this is also like. i think one of the most explicit routes ive seen in terms of textual descriptions of things.

-OH YEAH the other one was really really fun hes like doing an edgy oohhh ur my ruin you will bring my doom roleplay and shes like. excuse me? i dont want to bring your doom. what are you talking about. and hes like aww yeah my girlfriend is going to kill me one day and shes like HUH????? shes literally just trying to have a nice time and he keeps ruining it with his bizarre dirty (?) fantasizing about her destroying him it’s really funny

-and it all even started bc she was talking to peter and ace got jealous. even tho if he LISTENED a bit he’s realize she was talking abt how she chose ace.

she says he can name most of the stars she points out, but thankfully never gives names so MY CITY NOW - i think they have a lot of constellations named after things from the hunting of the snark + jabberwocky.

(which in my even deeper MY CITY NOW headcanonings is where they adopted their game-and-roleholder system from. so it’s sort of a remnant of it and a remembrance out of respect).

-i always much prefer when it's made textually clear in the moment that she wants something she verbally denies! This one seems particularly clear, i wonder if its a matter of being written years later
