Like yeah when you first talk to him he’s pretty insistent that Durge go reclaim their rightful place as Bhaal’s Chosen, but to his knowledge they will literally die if they deny Bhaal (he’s already lost them once, twice isn’t an option)

But if Durge comes back to him and says that they’re not longer Bhaal’s, he’s shocked- and then immediately happy for them. He says “Good.” He says that no one will ever control them again, that they’re free to rule the world by his side as equals

BC: I seem to find another that still has not given up on the problem. I am one of those too.

BC: Personally, I specialize more in simulations. How about you?

I’ve always tried to partake in a little bit of everything. I create programs, run simulations…and yet, my main area of expertise have always been calculations. Not objective, tangible ones, no—theoretical. Math that exists in a hypothetical state. While it might sound…paradoxical, I suppose, considering my stance on such subjects, calculating the statistical possibilities of certain events happening has always been my biggest focus.

…I understand that might not be fully getting the point across. Now, allow me to try and reimagine this in clearer terms: my research centers around alternate universes. Around their possible existence, of course, along with if it is plausible to somehow travel to said universes; along with the nature of the Cycle—if it is, perhaps, a pocket dimension of its own, duplicating in on itself, and particularly if it even exists as a concept in other universes. If it doesn’t, perhaps that might’ve been the Answer this whole time—if, somehow, there was a feasible way to transmit oneself to a universe such as that…well. That would’ve been it.

...But, as you can clearly see, I am still just standing here, unable to provide you with a proper answer—despite all my time and effort, as much as I loathe to admit it, my research has been rather futile. It has lead me nowhere—universes, the Cycle…it’s just dead-end after dead-end. Perhaps it is because I’ve never been one for entertaining pointless mind exercises such as these, but once upon a time even I had some hope for a project like this to—

what if i was to write something really fucked up. what if i wrote about merlin creating a time loop out of pure hurt, trapping him and arthur in their last 2(ish) days together. but arthur keeps dying. and merlin can’t change it. and every time he dies, he forgets. so merlin knows he has to let go. and so from that same hurt, he breaks the time loop, setting them back that same amount days one last time. except arthur remembers this time. but now it’s too late.

James' powers are the biggest wasted potential in the last hours. why didn't he use them more?? like i know in the series they're mostly just used to send him to Belphegor's realm but in the short stories he just turned into a shadow sometimes & had some control over it? like idk I just do not like how his powers were written in tlh.

like he's the first ever half warlock!! he puts the shadow in shadowhunter!! I think it would have been cool to see him use his abilities in battle, like how do you fight what isn't really there yknow? I think he should appear sometimes and leave other characters guessing whether he just walked in silently (something many shadowhunters can do) or if he really just materialised out of thin air. because he's James Herondale!! a living enigma, a possible impossibility!! he becomes his own shadow!! which is especially interesting if you compare it to Tessa's abilities, because she becomes other people, can listen to their thoughts and feel their emotions; but James is only ever himself!! also like “He did not know until later how right he was. It was warlock magic." that's his magic!! give them back to him CC right now and let him use them God damn it!!
