Hi here’s a silly 10th class idea that’s basically “what if a stingray chose violence and was 10x more stingy and could fly and was also a mercenary and a middle aged marine biologist?”
Meet Ray! Marine biologist turned weapons designer turned mercenary. Despite their age, she still enjoys the thrill of a fight and isn’t one to back down from a friendly challenge :) she also enjoys making fish puns

Is it bad that a part of me wants to see Kuina (who beat Zoro at fighting over 2000 times, training to be the greatest swordswoman, acutely aware of what people say about her gender and how it impedes her dream) meet Sanji (refuses to fight a woman just because they're a woman), just to see what type of trainwreck ensues. I feel like it would either be awful or absolutely hilarious.

even though I've never read the books, i love how you handle the women in this series.
The utter lack of interest in the internal lives of women characters in WC kills me. If you don't read the series it's hard to put it into words, but it really does not value women on the same level as their male counterparts
I think the best example I can use is Turtle Tail. All of her choices, from going to live with Bumble, choosing a "cruel man" as a mate, and even her grief when Bumble dies, all only happen as accessories to Gray Wing's arc.
Living with Bumble was because Gray Wing was obsessing over a woman who didn't love him, neglecting Turtle who does
Choosing Tom the Wifebeater was also because Gray Wing didn't appreciate her enough
She accepts that her friend's murder was just an unfortunate accident and her emotions carried her away in the moment, because Gray Wing needs to be right that his brother is a good boy
In this way, Turtle Tail's emotions and motivations aren't allowed to really be about her. They're about how her romantic interest influences her. And then she's crushed by a car for his man pain after they've explored every other way her life could make him sad.
This does not happen with men. Even characters like Stemleaf and Larksong, whose primary narrative purpose is dying for their wife's pain, have functions outside of that. Stemleaf gives his life opposing the tyranny of the impostor in a rebellion, and Larksong has input on The Kin, SkyClan, and even serves as a source of comfort and support to a son who he's never met in contrast to the unreasonable mother.
There's just so much more respect and reverence to the toms in this series. You have to be in the POV of a molly to get depth, and even then, they nearly always (exceptions being mothwing and mistystar) include a major conflict over romance and/or parenthood
(And they usually get punished for their choices a lot harder than male counterparts. Directly contrast Crookedstar and Sparkpelt, who both distance themselves from their children out of grief, but only one has to deal with the lasting consequences of being a "bad parent")
Anyway, enough wistful analysis. It is MY kitchen and I get to choose the conflicts. It is my personal mission to write lots and lots of women persuing a higher education in STEM. Sadism, Torture, Evisceration, and Murder <3

everytime i look in the lilith tag I see so much hate and antagonism for her, like my god. we barely know much about her but some people are just desperate to hate on her while woobifying male characters and I can think of one word why.

Honestly I think it would do us all well to go back to kinda cringy feminism again for a little bit idk cause I think maybe for some people the discourse somehow circled back around to supporting sexism just rebranded or whatever so its more aesthetic
#personal#instead of progressing the discourse into idk more inclusion of women of color and trans women#it went in the direction of like glorifying women being stupid and romanticizing beauty standarts#also weird centering of men all over again in feminism and in general for some reason#remember in the early 2010s when emma watson was like obliterated for that 'he for she' campaign#because it prioritized men in feminist discourse and then thats the exact direction where things went later on (and where it is currently)#people care more abt like 'haha this is my golden retriever bf he drinks respect women juice!' than about actual women speaking abt feminis#like being a feminist isnt about social change and women prioritizing each other its abt how dudes are hot when they do the bare minimum!#also have you noticed the rise in lesbophobia both in the sense of persecution of lesbians themselves#and of lesbians relationships and culture which other wlw are also part of (its giving lavender menace)#and also remember how we had the me too movement and then immediately after#everyone still fell for a smear campaing against a victim of domestic abuse?#anyway i would really love to get back to basics of like women should support each other!#and beauty standarts overwhelmingly negatively affect women and girls!#and we still need to incentivize girls to seek out intellectual pursuits especially in STEM and leadership roles!#because we continue to be underpresented in those fields and the only way to enact change is to bring our perspectives to those areas#instead of asking politely for guys to throw us a bone!#also stop acting like its cringe to openly and vocally center and prioritize women in every sphere of our lives possible!#and also maybe go back to actively trying to do that! and considering that a good thing!??#because we're the ones who should have our backs most of all?? idk idk#also where are the teeth??#why is everyone so afraid of being angry now???#its like some people circled back to being afraid of being mistaken for man-hating or something#just for pointing out common sense aspects of oppression without adding an asterisk about how men suffer too!#i thought we all knew there is no such thing as reverse sexism!!!#idk!!!#and this isnt me condoning choice feminism many women are evil and actively work against their own interests#or antagonize other women to make themselves feel important such as terfs etc#but idk its like everyone internalized that 'well women can suck too' so hard that its become like#'*most* women suck and we dont even have to keep trying to empathize and prioritize each other and our issues anymore'

Lily Evans is a woman in stem
I assume you're referring to this post I made not long ago and YES, A THOUSAND TIMES YES
Also, is Potions a male-dominated field? Because it seems that the wizarding world is more progressive when it comes to gender equality.
For example, Quidditch is co-ed and there are some pretty successful female Quidditch players. For Aurors, Tonks and Alice Longbottom were quite accomplished in their field. So perhaps it's the same for Lily's field.
What do you guys think?

Tag Game
Tagged by the wonderful @whiskynorocks and @misseffect ! Tagging @dispatchwithlove @kirschewine @diaphanouso @kalliesa @highwayphantoms @drhu0806 @ninanirina and any mutuals/anyone else who might be interested, I’d love to read more of these!
Rules: Share 10 facts about yourself!
1. I was an absolute hellion of a child who threw such terrible tantrums, I broke bones in my feet (which never healed right) and now have what my partner fondly calls ‘a wonky stub toe’
2. During my first week of grad school in Connecticut, I almost died from an asthma attack (which ranks as only mildly less traumatic than the general experience of living in Connecticut)
3. My mother doesn't know I've been married for 2 years
4. Without fail, I'm probably already late for something
5. I grew up extremely religious and repressed to the point where I was obsessed with the Scarlet Letter in high school. Now I write alien smut for strangers on the internet, so we’ve come a long way baby!
6. Spending most of my childhood in Vegas means I have a nostalgic attachment to the smell of stale cigarette smoke
7. I was expelled from high school 1 month before graduation for attendance issues but was already accepted to university with a full-ride scholarship and had completed my graduation requirements with my AP/honors courses so it…didn’t matter?? I ended up graduating from one of those underfunded public reform schools for troubled teens
8. My pandemic hobby was making cake and fancy cocktails every Saturday night
9. I was put in a group home in middle school and then spent all of high school bouncing between my friends’ and grandparents’ homes (the not telling my mom about being married bit is starting to make sense now huh?)
10. I just bought a 97-year-old house and I'd rank the experience just above the Connecticut asthma attack in terms of anxiety
Edit: Oh shit, I forgot the best one, bonus fact! (Can’t figure out what to cut so just adding it on)
11. I grew up next door to a nudist colony for 8 years.
