The Evermore Grimoire: Mutants
Emma Frost is a powerful and influential mutant telepath, most notoriously known as the White Queen of the Hellfire Club and occasional headmistress of the ‘Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters.’ Born to a rich Boston mercantile family, she parted ways with them and built a financial empire with ‘Frost International,’ ascending to a ruling position in the Inner Circle of the Hellfire Club. Demonstrating a particular interest in education, she ran the Massachusetts Academy, a preparatory school that secretly housed young mutants trained for her own interests, known as the Hellions. As an adversary of the X-Men, Emma constantly used to clash with younger mutants she attempted to manipulate, such as Kitty Pryde. However, the tragic death of her Hellions changed her heart, leading her to form a partnership with Charles Xavier. Putting her love for teaching to good use, but never afraid to cross the line of the morally correct, she became the co-headmistress of Xavier's School. As a survivor of the Genoshan genocide due to her new ability to transform her body into nigh-indestructible diamond, she became an inestimable member of the X-Men.

The moment it was announced I decided that'd I buy an additional McFarlane Toys: Batgirl. Why? So I could "Frankenstein" her with the Batwoman Beyond figure (from the same toy line). The parts I'm most interested in are the closed-fist hands and the unmasked head.
Tumblr media
These are my findings. If you do want to try this out on your own.
The reason why I chose the Batwoman Beyond figure is well A.) It is cheap and B.) The ML Silk (from Silk/Doc Ock two-pack) is kind of too expensive for my taste. But the other reason I chose Batwoman Beyond is because she comes with two alternate fist hands (Cass does not).
Another collector who wanted alternate fist hands (and feet) used the MT Rebirth Batman. Which is an alternate solution if you want your Cass to look comic-accurate rather than just unmasked.
The first thing I noticed is the left hand ball joint for Cass was too attached to the hand.
Tumblr media
The simple solution to this is using the "hot water" method of putting plastic in hot water for 18 seconds (which loosens the plastic enough for the ball joint to pop off without damaging the plastic).
Once you have that solution the fist hands of Batwoman do work, but you may want to put some nail polish on the ball joint before you do. If not, the ball joint will be quite loose.
After that had worked, problem #2 reared its head. Cass and Batwoman Beyond's heads share two different ball joints.
Tumblr media
Cass's is shorter than Batwoman Beyond. So I tried taking the ball joint out of Batwoman Beyond and putting it on Cass (hence the headless look).
It did not turn out well (Cass had an exceptionally long ass neck. So I settled with the ball joint Cass came with. It works but... you'll need the "tack" method to make it really work.
And as for the end result...
Tumblr media
This Cass has alternate fist hands. She looks a little like the Artgerm cover to me. What do you think? I think for simplicity's sake? Yeah. It does.

Note
do you a have any line art tips?
For me personally, make sure to practice your hand to be more comfortable first. Practicing making doodles that do not need to be neatly shaped objects, sketching something messy, like a swirl. To make sure your wrist is less hurt and you can move freely. Then look for a brush that is comfortable for you to use or you could set it by yourself. In my case, I always searching brushes that are pointy but also a bit transparent in volume. The stabilizer is also important to me to make your lining clean and neat. Make sure to watch tutorials on YouTube or Facebook. Looking for favorite artists that could suit you and inspire you and learn their style. But you also need to find your own style. Artists who have amazing art styles focus on the line art. For example, Bruno Redondo, Artgerm, Edwin Galmon, Ilya Kuvsinov, and Dan Mora

Top 10 Covers of Single Issue Comics I Own (Ranked)
I am just focusing on Loki-centric or Loki-featured comics. I am ranking purely on cover aesthetics, not on content of the actual comic.
Loki: Agent of Asgard, issue 17 (illustrated by Lee Garbett)
Tumblr media
I'm obsessed with Loki's post-ego death look. I love all of the other issue covers around him. I'm less fond of the reminder that this is one of the last issues of this run, since this is my favorite series.
2. Loki, issue 1 (variant) (illustrated by Stanley "Artgerm" Lau)
Tumblr media
Gorgeous. I love her. My shitty photo does not do the lighting of this artwork justice.
3. Marvel Voices: Pride #1 (2022) (illustrated by Amy Reeder)
Tumblr media
The more Lokis, the better. I love all of the variants, I love all of the flags, and how the Loki in the foreground (and Croki) is standing on the rainbow flag, bringing to mind the bifrost. The only way this could be better is if his actual gender flag was here and President Loki was not.
4. Loki, issue 1 (variant) (illustrated by Rod Reis)
Tumblr media
I love this cover for similar reasons to the above entry: all of the different faces Loki has and iterations he's been. I also like that the back of his throne is reminiscent of his crown, and that he's clearly in Jotunheim.
5. Loki, issue 2 (variant) (illustrated by Matteo Lolli)
Tumblr media
I'm obsessed with this imagery too. The flock of magpies and how Loki's appearing or disappearing out of the magpies is just ugh so poetic and perfect. It makes me think about the last line from Where Mischief Lies: "Be the witch, and know everything."
6. Defenders Beyond issue 1 (illustrated by Natacha Bustos)
Tumblr media
Loki as the Mad Hatter. Need I say more? Okay I will. Loki without shoes on.
7. Loki issue 3 (variant) (illustrated by Mirka Andolfo)
Tumblr media
I've already posted about this cover. Teddy is checking Loki('s coat) out. I love it and I think it's fucking hilarious.
8. What If...? Dark Loki (variant) (illustrated by Ema Lupacchino)
Tumblr media
Listen, I don't like the way Loki gets ahold of Mjolnir in this, and I don't like what happens as a result. But I am such a fan of Loki holding Mjolnir that I ignore everything else going on.
9. Loki issue 1 (variant) (illustrated by Todd Nauck)
Tumblr media
So one website was calling these window shades, and maybe Loki is that extra that he's got red velvet curtains, but I saw this and I was like oh my god he's on stage! And that's what I love about this. He seems like he's in a spotlight and everything.
10. Norse Mythology issue 4 (variant) (illustrated by David Mack)
Tumblr media
So this isn't Marvel Loki, but I love Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman. I haven't actually read the comic, but I've read the novel and listened to the audiobook (read by the author) many times. So naturally I needed to buy the comic adaptation with Loki on the cover. I love the watercolor look to it and the collage of all of his symbols surrounding him. I also love how he doesn't have one solid human shape; this idea that all of these forms are him is wonderful and also a theme in Agent of Asgard, so of course, I love the idea that Al Ewing drew on mythology for that idea.

WildC.A.T.s are getting a new on-going series from writer Matthew Rosenberg and artist Stephen Segovia, which will spin out from Batman: Urban Legends. The HALO Corporation gathers a crew under the leadership of Cole “Grifter” Cash that will have to work together in the shadows to make the world a better place...no matter who they gotta kill. Too bad they are about to cross paths with The Court of Owls.
WildC.A.T.s #1 features a cover by Stephen Segovia, variant covers by Jim Lee, Stanley “Artgerm” Lau, and Ben Oliver, 1:25 connecting variant cover by Jeff Spokes, 1:50 variant cover by Alan Quah, 1:100 variant cover by Dan Hipp, 1:150 pencil variant by Jim Lee, and a ‘90s Cover Month variant by Brett Booth and Sandra Hope. Tumblr media
Waller vs. WildStorm is a four-issue mini-series for DC’s Black Label from writers Spencer Ackerman and Evan Narcisse and artist Eric Battle. During the ‘80s Cold War intelligence agency Checkmate is pulled in two directions. On one side is the public face of the agency Jackson King, aka The Armored Battalion, former leader of Stormwatch. One the other side is Adeline Kane, whom King suspects is engineering horrors. Unknown to King, Kane also has a new ally, young Amanda Waller, who has her own ideas as to how metahumans can serve their country without worrying about all that pesky honor, dignity, and long lives.
Waller vs. WildStorm #1 (of 4) features a main cover by Jorge Fornés, a variant cover by Eric Battle, and a 1:25 variant cover by Mike Perkins. The comic goes on sale on November 15, 2022.
Tumblr media
WildStorm 30th Anniversary Special #1 is a 100 page special issue that pays homage to Jim Lee’s WildStorm Productions. The special will reprint, in periodical form, short stories from WildStorm: A Celebration of 25 Years hardcover as well as now stories featuring WildStorm characters in the DC line, charting their future in the DCU. The special hails from creators Jim Lee, Matthew Rosenberg, Joshua WIlliamson, Brandon Choi, J. Scott Campbell, Brett Booth, Ed Brisson, Bryan Hitch, and more.

DC is reprinting Doug Moench, Chuck Dixon, Alan Grant, and Klaus Janson’s Batman / Spawn: War Devil #1 and Frank Miller and Todd McFarlane’s Spawn / Batman into a single collection titled Batman / Spawn: The Classic Collection.
Batman / Spawn: The Classic Collection goes on sale on November 15, 2022. In progress cover artwork above by Greg Capullo and Todd McFarlane. In related news, a new Batman / Spawn by McFarlane and Capullo releases on December 16, 2022.
Throughout November DC Comics will release over 15 ‘90s themed variant cover of many of its comics.

Coloured in my birthday sketch done by the amazing @Artgerm!
I requested it a month in advance from my actual birthday (26 March) as it was also his final lesson with my class, so the original sketch in black marker on paper (last image) was done on 17 February. And yes Artgerm, he is handsome enough thank you owo
I wanted to render it but liked how the flats look with the raw graphic lines, so left it at that. This is my redesign of Odd in his late teens/early twenties in my spin-off fic combined with my original world in Project UNCIA.
