Designed by pain (1)
Tumblr media
Summary: Broken hearts are hard to put back together. 8 years ago, Dean lost something he didn’t even know he had in the first place. Will he get a second chance?
Pairing: former AU!Dean Winchester x fem!Reader; Arthur Ketch x fem!Reader
Warnings: angst, language, implied break-up, time jumps, strong reader, Dean being a douche (implied), unplanned pregnancy
A/N: This was an alternative idea for the first chapter of my Bucky story: Monster-in-law masterlist. I decided to use it for a story with Dean.
Designed by pain masterlist
Designed by pain (Prologue)
Tumblr media
One night of passion, a life-long responsibility. The words you wrote echo in your mind. It’s only a few days since you left Dean and the house, but you are already falling apart.
You spent the better part of the drive back to your shared home being scared of the future.
Having a baby so soon into your relationship wasn’t in your plans. Neither was it to raise the child alone. Even though you know, there is no way you’ll not love the life growing inside your body.
“Fuck, what do I do now?” You slam the door shut behind you and immediately sink to your knees. You choke out a sob and hide your face in the palms of your hands.
Tumblr media
Six days and Dean didn’t even try to call you, nor did he come home.
He’s over you already, and Lisa will take your place. Maybe it never was your place. You were only a placeholder until she came back into the picture.
You grit your teeth and huff. “Fuck you, Dean Winchester.” Something breaks inside of you, and you don’t know if it’s a bad thing.
The part of you loving Dean unconditionally already starts to fade, and the bitch in the back of your mind taking over whenever you got hurt wins the upper hand.
You straighten your back and look at the woman in the mirror staring back at you. You smirk and put your hands on your hips. “I guess this means we are going to leave and start all over again. Don’t worry little bean,” you lovingly run your hand over your belly, “we are going to fucking rock this…”
Tumblr media
One last step and your new life can begin. This is it, the point of no return. Your life with Dean is over, and you are not even sorry anymore.
You gave him time and space to realize what he was about to lose. In the end, you and his baby weren’t important enough to him to even try to talk things out.
Even if he didn’t want to be in a relationship with you any longer, he could’ve at least tried to be a father to his child.
Now you will be a father and mother to the bean growing in your belly. You’re strong and won’t back down, or cry over spilled milk.
If you look back at this moment in a few years, you will clap your hands and cheer for yourself. You’re stronger than Dean or anyone else gave you credit for. Everyone believed you’re only the cheerful and soft girl who loves to bake cookies and dreams of marrying the man you love.
A week ago, you were this person.
Today you are someone else. An Amazon, who will take her life in her hands and move on from a man who never loved her…
Tumblr media
The takeoff is both exciting and terrifying. You are flying to another country, to live on another continent. Your old life will be in the past, and you can only think about the future from now on.
Holding your old plushie in your hands, squeezing it tightly you take deep breaths. “In and out,” you tell yourself to calm your nerves. Flying always makes you nervous. This didn’t change.
“How do you like first class, Miss Y/L/N,” your new boss asks. He paid for a first-class ticket so you could talk about your new position and the house he rented for you.
“Thank you for inviting me,” you give him a quick smile. Arthur Ketch is a very polite and charming man, but you cannot appreciate him at the moment.
“I have to thank you for accepting our job offer,” he says and dips his head to watch you nervously run your hand over your belly. “How far are you?”
“Oh—” heat creeps into your cheeks. You should’ve told him that you were pregnant before accepting his company’s offer. “I…I should’ve told you.”
“Most of our employees are mothers and fathers, Y/N. We are a family-friendly company with family-friendly work conditions. And the boss likes you, and your reputation.” He smirks now and leans closer to look at your belly.
“Do you think he’ll like that I didn’t tell them about my pregnancy? I didn’t do it on purpose. I got to know about my pregnancy only a few days ago, and I didn’t intend to accept the job offer at that time.”
“You know that I’m the boss, right?” Ketch grins.
“You are the boss now?” Your eyes round. “Since when?”
He shrugs. “I was the one behind the job offer. Robert Singer talked highly about you when we last met. From that moment on, I wanted you to work for us. If I told you back then that I was the CEO of the BMOL you would’ve never accepted our offer.”
“So, you tricked me,” you chuckle. “Lately all men seem to lie to me.” You sigh deeply. “Sorry, that was inappropriate. I didn’t want to…” You sniff. “Sorry.”
“You accepted my job offer because of a bad break-up I assume,” he pats your hand. “It’s alright, Y/N. London is the perfect place to start over. I will show you the town, and help you settle in. If you need help, I’ll be there. We care for our employees.”
“Is that a British thing?” You quirk a brow.
“It’s an Arthur Ketch thing,” he replies. “If you ask me, he’s a fool for letting you go. Sorry. Now I was the one saying inappropriate things, Y/N. You can punch me if you want to.”
“No, you’re right,” you hastily reply. “I gave him a choice, but he just gave up on us after meeting his ex-girlfriend again. The job offer was tempting, but I couldn’t imagine leaving the man I love. He made things so much easier for me. I got a new job and a new life. Maybe I should thank him for being the douche he is.”
“You deserve better,” Ketch softly says. “I know that we barely know each other, but believe me, he’s not worth a single tear. A gentleman should never make a woman cry or hurt her. Especially the one carrying his child.”
You give Ketch a sad smile. You’re embarrassed how easily he saw right through you. It wasn’t your intention to talk about your pregnancy and broken heart with your new boss.
“Y/N don’t worry. Everything we talked about today won’t leave this airplane,” he pats your hand. “If you need a friend, I’ll be there…”

Vibrating excitedly because it's time for Battle Scars and I am READY.
Obsessed with this opening honestly. Everything is happening at once. Everyone is yelling. Echo is just trying to get the hyperdrive back online. Omega has named the lizard. (Interesting that it IS Ruby and she picked the name... but when we see it with Roland, the name is in fact Ruby. So either she DIVINED THE NAME or Roland hadn't named her yet and somehow the Ruby name got passed to him and he's like. Yeah this is a Ruby. Great instincts kid I will surely never meet!)
Also crawling onto Wrecker's face, he is ALREADY HAVING A BAD TIME. IT'S GONNA GET WORSE.
Successful Cid job tally: 1 failed, 2 successes
Hunter's very doubtful UH-HUH... THE KID. is so cute.... I miss him, season 2 Hunter is SO FUCKING DEPRESSED. LIKE LITERALLY ABOUT TO LAY DOWN AND SLEEP FOR 200 YEARS DEPRESSED.
Cornered introduced them to Money and Bribes, Battle Scars introduces them to CREDIT CARD DEBT.
TWENTY CARTONS OF MANTELL MIX. JUST BEEN PUTTING IT ON CID'S TAB THE WHOLE TIME.
Bolo and Ketch trying to fight Rex is SO fucking funny. Boys you won't win that one. Go sit down.
I'M SORRY I AM NEVER OVER TECH PIPING UP WITH "THAT'S NOT HER UGLY SIDE?" DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF CID. ABSOLUTE LACK OF SHITS TO GIVE. LOOK AT HIS FIELD OF FUCKS AND NOTE THAT IT IS BARREN.
We do love Rex's poncho disguise. Nothing says stealth like having your EXTREMELY DISTINCTIVE ARMS ON DISPLAY.
"Being dead in the Empire's eyes has its advantages" sounds like another line that could come back with Tech.
Tumblr media
CUTE SMILES <3
Rex immediately kneeling down to talk to Omega is adorable but when she gets way into his personal space he looks SO NERVOUS AND ANXIOUS. AND THEN SHE TELLS HIM HE HAS WRINKLES.
Tech very casually like OUR INHIBITOR CHIPS DON'T WORK EXCEPT IN CROSSHAIR like yes Wrecker is having migraines, etc, but it's probably fine. Genius that cannot conceive of his family continuing to dwindle so he just assumes Wrecker will be okay probably. He has to be right?
Still seeing Rex go for his blaster for them hurts me.
HUNTER STANDING IN FRONT OF TECH THOUGH WHEN THINGS GET TENSE. HE PROTECT.
I don't want to bury anymore of our brothers.
Listen I do still think it's funny that Rex unlike Cut has Zero Reaction to Crosshair being missing and apparently has not asked, but I do think that it would be interesting to get him talking about the chips with Crosshair. Rex has no reason to lie to make him feel better. You can't resist the chips and Crosshair isn't special in that regard.
Wrecker thinks he's nervous about the surgery now but soon he gets to see that the surgery suite is also a complete wreck!
Tumblr media
Obsessed with this shot WHY does Tech looks like he belongs in blurry bigfoot footage?
Rex not mentioning Ahsoka makes so much sense actually he has no idea what might make their chips suddenly activate so best not to mention the help he got from a former Jedi
So Wrecker starts out getting attacked by a lizard, has a horrifying migraine, has to go across a terrifying pit on a cord which immediately breaks, smacks him into a wall, and dangles him upside down by one leg to fish for some sort of horrid creature. AND IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE FOR HIM FROM HERE.
Tech complaining about the cleanliness again like he didn't live in some sort of biohazard train wreck in a bed that looks like this
Tumblr media
God the way Omega is already worried about being left all alone in Battle Scars. Baby, I want you to have your whole family back so bad more than I've wanted anything ever. Also Hunter's response here is "You're stuck with us for the long run" and I just feel like it would be exceptionally mean spirited to have that and then have Omega alone at the end like a lot of theories predict.
God the moment that Wrecker grabs Tech is still the most fucking chilling thing. And obviously the chip was already activating but I wonder if it's what Hunter was talking about, saying 'at least we helped the Padawan escape' that finally pushed it over the edge.
THE MUSIC CUTTING OUT WHEN WE ZOOM IN ON WRECKER'S PUPIL EXPANDING.
Someone pointed out ONE TIME that when Wrecker is pinning him to the wall Hunter tries to tap out by tapping his wrists twice and I can never again NOT notice that. Trying to get through to Wrecker but Wrecker's not in right now. It's just the fucking chip.
HE WAS JUST GOING TO MURDER THE FUCKING CHILD.
Chipped Wrecker is terrifying and honestly vital to see before we get to Reunion. The viewer NEEDS to understand just how unbeatable the chips are in order to understand Crosshair's character arc, we need to see it in someone that we know is completely trustworthy and good in order to see how much it Does Not Matter how good you are.
The thing with this show is that I've always felt like it REALLY understands where it's going with its narrative. Whatever else people might think about it, it does understand how to lay the groundwork to support the themes and family dynamics and it does feel completely sketched out.
Omega honey shaking him will not make Wrecker wake up faster please give him some breathing room.
EVERYONE FALLING ASLEEP AROUND WRECKER. MY HEART.
The way Tech pops straight up from being completely conked out in a chair KILLS ME.
They went so far as to shave like a quarter of Tech's head for the surgery but they didn't touch Hunter's at all. He allowed exactly one (1) square inch to be shaved off and he immediately hid it under his fucking bandana.
The animation is so detailed though, they left hair stubble behind even.
Here Wrecker eat Omega's pocket mix that she has been carrying for who knows how long.
Hunter saying he's still figuring out what's best for his squad. End of season two he still doesn't have it yet.
Rex mysteriously fucking vanishing into the fog is so funny, that is exactly how to exit the screen. Just fade into the fog like a mysterious unicorn.
And of course the Doom Ending to lead into Reunion.

Beautiful Spouse’s Rewatch Thoughts SPN 14x01 Stranger in a Strange Land
“Oh yeah Dean let his bitchass in” Yeah that’s why Cas was upset
“To be fair, he thought everyone was going to die” “who is this asshole?” “Oh we haven’t met him yet” “Wasn’t sure if this was Ketch in some disguise, but you get a better look at his face and realize he’s a different guy” “I mean it didn’t take 21 guesses at least” “Aren’t there only so many angels? Do we have time for Michael to be picking on the little guy?” “Do we have a whole fkn season without Dean now? What’s the fkn point?” “What’s the brown acid?” Idk. Drugs? “the hell is Cas doing in Detroit?” “that was the fakest fkn yawn I’ve ever seen.” “Maybe if you swallow while you yawn, it’ll help. Sarcasm, obviously” “gypsy vampires. Ok”
“You can’t say that anymore, right?” Yes that word is a slur
“Sam, you’re so full of shit’ “what the hell kind of shithead cause Cas to pray to god?” “those are some really douchey sunglasses” “can’t Cas reach across the table and burn this guy out?” “Really?” “Is it morning or night?” “Is this the angel one?” “OH yeah of course” “it’d be a little less difficult if Sam didn’t wear a v-neck under your goddamn flannel” “Are you gaslighting Jack with the nodding?” I get it - Sam nods like a bird
“I suppose he’s always chomping on those rocks” “Who is in bitch block? 7B?” ‘is that Lucifer? That can’t be right” “interesting. Sounds like he has the same demeanor as Lucifer” “why are they bothering with this guy? I know you don’t want to kill the vessel but it’s fkn Lucifer” “He already said yes once. Does he need permission again if Lucifer comes back?” “you all should invest in better security. Feel like they’re getting more popular” “gonna suck harder than Dyson V8.” “that’s when you say balls” “the better the bait, the better the catch” “a 4th D?” “quit chewing your goddamn fingernails. Horrible habit” “this is all they brought?” “what the fuck?” “yeah, I think you do” “something something go to hell?” “that’s a lot of slow-mo and close ups” “that was a lot of time to explain how to stab someone” “cooked him” “thats a pretty good line. I’ll give Sam that much” “well ya know” “not sure if icing the headache with a beer then consuming the beer will help” “can’t they ever shower or use a little peroxide or something?” “despite all the fighting and sweating, they have a fairly oil free complexion” “Jack’s getting really good at that phrase” “did he store his phone and his keys in the same fkn pocket? I don’t think I’d trust anyone who ever does that. No, I don’t think so but still” “what the fuck. We’re making allegiances with monsters now?”

supernatural s12e17 the british invasion (w. eugenie ross-leming, brad buckner)
trying to reserve judgement but 30 seconds in a flipped back to football when i tried this yesterday. let me count the ways i do not care about bmol backstory. glad to see eileen again
are you fucking kidding me. children have to battle to the death at the fancy magic school. quite possibly the least believable premise for traumatic backstory starter they could have thrown out there
Tumblr media Tumblr media
sam really leaning into dean's space there lol
so american mol were just this chill little group of dorky researchers but british mol are this child crushing machine to churn out good little soldiers? mommy's blunt little instruments?
DR HESS Then let me make it blisteringly simple. We don't have time to court a handful of mangy Colonials. Not anymore. So either Sam and Dean and the rest of their ill-bred lot learn to obey, or you turn them over to Mr. Ketch... and start fresh. MICK Look, I don't think... DR HESS This is not a discussion. It's an order. Are you hearing me, Michael? Assimilate or eliminate.
this is so.... ridiculous. cliche, out of left field. really not gonna beat the "we're out of ideas" rap. speaking of, was trying to explain this season's plotlines to my friend and had the sudden brainwave of OF COURSE i know who the product of the lucifer kelly KLINE union is. typing out the name had me 🤦lol
Tumblr media
SAM Hey, you talk to Mom lately? MICK Oh, shouldn't worry about your mum. Her and Ketch make quite the team. DEAN Would you want your mom working with him? MICK Well, I can't say. I never really knew my mum. Or my dad. I was on the streets till the Men of Letters found me.
oh a street urchin too! *adds to the pile*
WHY ARE YOU LICKING THE FLOOR'S PUSSY LIKE THAT I AM SO DISTRESSED. the licking was enough to make me cover the screen but the moaning i wasn't expecting 😭 dear lord. ace thing/me thing but my faves doing sex scenes weirds me out and this might have been worse lol way too much like actual sex
LUCIFER I figured out the rules of the house, and…well, all things considered, think I'd rather be here than rotting in the Cage with my drooling, insane – and not in a fun way – little bro Michael.
how did he manage to break michael? i'll be generous and assume it's a lie along with the whole "you win" business
so is mary humanizing mr ketchup or gonna fuck him or what
CROWLEY My loyal…ish subjects, these troubled times, I'm aware there might be some confusion as to where you're supposed to place your loyalty. Even with Lucifer back in the Cage, there are those of you who would try to help him… because he scares you or engorges you.
ew :p
i don't think even mark pellegrino can save this tired little game we're playing again
padalecki, please, no with the bad accent
Tumblr media
very pretty lighting and backdrop
eileen accidentally killing sniveling bootheel of the machine so mick can overcome some childhood murderous brainwashing? and set up conflict with the mothership?
(yes to the fucking mr ketchup and she's gonna Have It All *beanie toss*)
Tumblr media
ok.
Tumblr media
(script)
wasn't sure if that was swoony over the flirting or freaked out, so i guess it was supposed to be swoony
Tumblr media
his plotline is frustrating me but goddamn pellegrino is so good at making lucifer genuinely, distressingly creepy
ah so the plot conflict with bmol and an emotional beat for eileen. twofer
Tumblr media
does the flirtation business ever go anywhere with eileen? i will admit that ellen eileen jody donna all kind of blur in my head from what i've read in fic (side characters that generally aren't involved in what i'm reading except very briefly that may have a familial-ish relationship with the boys, as i might them in the show i have small oh moments)
(oh the actress who plays dagon, ali ahn, was in 27 out of 36 episodes of the path, which i briefly tried to watch because hugh dancy is in it but it was a little too topical for my tolerance at the moment)
DR HESS These Hunters are out of control. The brothers Winchester, in particular, which Lady Bevell has exhaustively documented.
so fancy, brothers winchester. the whole moral high ground lady this is trying to sell is so fucking dumb because yeah forcing children to murder each other, they're totally better than the monsters! pick something else, writers, because this is just asinine
redemption arc for mick complete, time to shuffle him off this mortal coil ofc
DR HESS The grand experiment recruiting American Hunters has failed. Utterly. KETCH Mm. What would you like me to do? DR HESS Exterminate them. Every...last...one.
comically bad. where's your pet cat and eye patch
look they keep trying to reach cas and nothing, because cas decided to pop off to heaven and not tell them. le sigh!

MLWTBB: First Time for Everything
aka the (continued) journey into my self insert nonsense✨
chapter summary: after some teasing from his brothers, Hunter finds himself seriously considering how he wants to deal with his feelings for Hannah. Wrecker wants to help, but Omega ends up being the one to step in and get Hunter in a better state of mind.
notes: this is a continuation of my story, “My Life With The Bad Batch”; I highly recommend reading that first before this one! I created a few new planets for this story. I’m also not 100% versed in SW terminology, so forgive me if some things are labeled incorrectly! each chapter will be rated accordingly, as opposed to the overall fic. lastly, there is romance in this story. hope you enjoy! 💙
add. notes: this chapter was edited and proofread by my sis @jam-n-ham! thanks sis!! 😋💙
Chapter 1, 3700+ words, rated G (some light alcohol consumption, otherwise it’s just a lot of pining LOL)
previous chapters: Prologue

______________________________________________________________
Most days on Ord Mantell weren’t very special. In fact, the majority of people who lived there would say that there wasn’t anything special about the place in general, aside from how notoriously ridden with crime that it was. Some places were more special than others though. Especially to those who frequented Cid’s game parlor. But even there, it was rare for something out of the ordinary to happen. And so far, this day was seeming pretty ordinary to most of the people visiting the parlor.
“Dang it!” Ketch’s frustrated tone rang throughout the space. “She beat us again!”
“That’s the fourth time this week!” Bolo added, equal frustration in his voice.
A very proud-faced Omega sat across from them both at the other end of the Dejarik table. Echo was standing behind her, shaking his head at the other two. “I don’t know why you two keep trying; Omega’s the best Dejarik player here.”
Wrecker was nearby, doing some sit-ups on the floor, and stopped for a moment to add in, “More like in the entire galaxy!”
Omega’s proud grin only grew wider at the praise from her brothers. “At least I don’t bet you guys for money anymore!”
Bolo and Ketch just huffed away angrily, arguing to each other about whose fault it was that they lost again.
As the commotion continued, Hunter sat quietly at the bar, seemingly ignoring everything going on around him. Normally, he would be in the same place as Echo, watching Omega play Dejarik with whatever poor soul felt like losing that day. But his attention seemed to be elsewhere today, which hadn’t gone unnoticed by any of his siblings. Echo especially had noticed Hunter’s gaze being firmly fixated on the main doorway for the majority of their time in the parlor. He had a pretty good idea about what Hunter was watching for, but felt like teasing his brother a bit simply because he could.
Echo gave Omega a pat on the shoulder before coming up beside Hunter and sitting on the stool next to his. He stared at Hunter for a few seconds to see if his brother would react to him being there at all, which he didn’t, before dropping the bomb. “Hannah’s running late today.”
Almost as if Echo had spooked him out of a trance, Hunter flinched and inhaled sharply, finally taking his eyes off the doorway. “Yeah... she probably got up late again or something.”
Tech was near the bar, fiddling with one of the game machines. “It’s possible Cid may have sent her out to the market before we even came in,” he began to speak without looking up from what he was doing. “Cid could have also given her the day off. Or perhaps she is sick or just not feeling well in general. There is also the unfortunate possibility that something happened to her while on her way to the parlor this morning without any of us knowing.” He glanced up at Hunter and Echo, who were both giving him a concerned look. “That one is, of course, one of the more unlikely possibilities. It’s more so likely that she’s at the market.” With a quick adjustment of his goggles, Tech went back to his work, not concerning himself with whatever dirty looks his brothers were currently giving him.
“Well, I’m not worried at all!” Omega exclaimed, hopping over to the bar and sitting at the stool on Hunter’s other side.
Hunter shook his head, adding, “Neither am I.” He felt Echo lean in closer to him and side-glanced his brother.
“So what is it then?” Echo asked. “Are ya waiting for her to make you a drink or something?”
Before Hunter could respond, Tech stopped what he was doing and walked behind the counter in front of all of them. “You don’t have to wait for her for that, you know. We make our own drinks all the time.” He began preparing a few drinks, continuing to speak as he did so. “Granted, none of us are as skilled as Hannah at mixing our drinks. She has spent quite a bit of time learning how to do so and has quite nearly perfected it, I would say.” He looked Hunter directly in the face and slid one of the drinks towards him, giving him an almost sly look.
“Yeah, she’s really great,” Echo added as he took the drink Tech handed to him. “We all know that, don’t we guys?” Tech, Omega, and Wrecker all agreed, while Hunter stayed silent, knowing exactly what his brothers were trying to do.
A non-alcoholic drink had been prepared for Omega, and she took a quick sip before speaking again. “Hannah’s a great friend. Hunter probably just misses her is all.” She completely missed the brief look of sheepishness that crossed Hunter’s face as she took another sip of her drink.
Wrecker’s boisterous laugh echoed throughout the parlor as he stood up to join his siblings at the bar. “Oh, I’m sure he misses her alright!” He playfully smacked Hunter on the back, nearly causing him to spill his drink. Hunter growled briefly before taking a sip.
“I bet I know what’s really buggin’ him,” Wrecker continued.
Hunter felt his significantly larger brother practically pressed against his back now and could sense that another quip was coming.
“So, you finally gonna ask her out today then?”
That most definitely was not the quip Hunter was expecting, and he nearly choked on his drink. “What??”
Another boisterous laugh from Wrecker. “Don’t act stupid! We all know ya like her! You watch her more than anybody else who comes in here!”
Coming from Wrecker, that was a surprisingly accurate observation, as much as Hunter didn’t want to admit it. He tried his best to regularly keep tabs on everyone who came into the parlor, as well as his own siblings, but he couldn’t deny his favoritism towards Hannah. She had enamored him from the day he’d met her, and his feelings had continued to grow every day since they’d brought her to Ord Mantell. But he knew it was better to not pursue her, all things considered. He lived a dangerous life, on top of his already short life span. It was better for both of them to just remain friends. It almost hurt to admit those feelings to himself. The others wouldn’t understand. It was better to keep it to himself, as he often did about his feelings in general.
“I don’t see what that has to do with anything, Wrecker.” Hunter practically buried his face in his cup, trying to hide the flush that had spread across his face.
“It has a lot to do with everything!” Wrecker exclaimed. “I mean, the only reason I haven’t asked her myself is ‘cause of that!”
Hunter’s face practically snapped in Wrecker’s direction, his eyebrow deftly quirking. “You... what?”
“What? You think you’re the only one who likes her?” Wrecker suddenly became conscious of himself and rubbed the back of his neck nervously. “I mean, I dunno if she’d even wanna go out with someone like me, but... it’s not like I wouldn’t try!”
Omega leaned over and patted her brother on the arm. “Aww, don’t worry Wrecker, I’m sure Hannah would love to do something with you!” She looked at the rest of her brothers. “I’m sure she would do something with any of you! She likes all of you a lot!”
All four of the brothers reacted in a uniquely but similarly bashful way.
Suddenly, a noise that only Hunter could hear caught his attention back towards the main doorway again. Everyone else gradually followed suit and looked towards the doorway just in time to see the person they’d been discussing step into the parlor. She was holding a few bags full of various items in her hands and huffed loudly as she came down the final step into the parlor.
“Oh!” Hannah exclaimed, immediately catching sight of everyone else staring at her. “Hey guys! Good morning!” Her face suddenly contorted into confusion. “It’s still morning, right?”
“Yes, it is,” Tech replied.
“Ok, good!”
Omega hopped off her stool and came up to Hannah to give her a hug. Hannah did her best to return the hug, despite the bags still in her hands, laughing the whole time. Wrecker came over and offered to take the bags for her, which Hannah graciously handed over.
“Yeah, sorry I wasn’t here earlier,” Hannah said as she walked behind the counter. “Cid asked me to get some things last night before I came in today.”
Tech looked back at the others smugly. “As I predicted.”
“That’s fine,” Echo replied, ignoring Tech. “We know she likes to keep you busy.”
“Yeah, it’s not like we missed you or anything,” Wrecker sheepishly added as he set the bags on the counter.
Hannah placed a hand on her own chest and looked at Wrecker gratefully. “Aww, that’s so sweet.” She walked over and hugged his massive arm, which made him chuckle and blush. “Well, I was gonna ask if you guys wanted me to make you something, but it looks like someone beat me to it.”
“That would be me,” Tech responded, adjusting his goggles again. “But I have no problem admitting my efforts were far inferior to what yours would have been.”
“Oh, now you guys are just trying to feed my ego,” Hannah said with a giggle. “I could still getcha something if you really want it though. My treat.”
“Yes please!” Omega quickly responded.
“Heck yeah!” Wrecker added, pumping his fist in the air.
Hannah giggled again. “Alright, one each for my Baby Girl and the Big Guy.” She turned to Tech and placed her hands on her hips. “Anything for you, Smarty Pants? Or are you good with your ‘inferior’ drink?”
Tech couldn’t help but snicker. “I wasn’t planning on asking for one, but since you’re offering, I might as well accept.”
Hannah nodded before turning to Echo next. “And you, Handy Man? You good?”
Echo gave her a smile and responded, “I am, but thanks for offering. I might take you up on it later though.”
Hannah gave him a thumbs up, then walked over to Hunter. “What about you, Mister Vigilance?” She leaned towards him against the counter, resting her chin in her hands to wait for his response.
At first, Hunter seemed almost taken aback by her actions, but quickly cleared his throat and replied, “No, I’m fine, thanks.”
It wasn’t unusual for Hunter to use as few words as possible whenever he spoke, but it also wasn’t hard to tell that something was off, in Hannah’s eyes anyway. She knew him better than that and frowned slightly at his response. Her head cocked to the side. “You sure?”
Hunter had been keeping his gaze away from hers and took a moment before deciding to finally look back at her. She looked so cute with her head cocked, chin still in her hands, with a sweet smile spread across her face and a few strands of her bright red hair resting on her cheek; Hunter could literally feel the heat building on his face. It seemed his brothers’ teasing had gotten the better of him, and he was now more self-conscious of his feelings. He could only look at her for a few seconds before looking away again awkwardly. “Yes, I’m sure,” was all he could mutter.
Hannah gave a quick look at the others before leaning in further towards Hunter. He was definitely acting weird, and she wanted to know why. “Everything ok, bud?” She leaned her head further to the side, practically touching the counter, to try and get a better look at Hunter’s face.
Dang it, she was still being cute. Hunter swallowed hard and said, “I’m fine, like I said before.” Then he stood up from his stool and walked to the other side of the parlor, unable to manage his place at the counter any longer.
Hannah huffed in response and shot a confused look at Echo, who just shrugged.
After making drinks for Omega, Wrecker, and Tech, Hannah got to work unloading the bags she’d brought in from the market. Echo offered to help, which Hannah gladly accepted. As they both began placing things behind the counter, Hannah quietly interrogated Echo about Hunter.
“He’s just got some things on his mind, I think,” Echo informed her. “Maybe you could ask him about it later, when everyone else isn’t around. You know how private he is.”
It was true, Hannah knew all too well how Hunter liked to keep things to himself. It was infuriating at times, but she understood, being a fairly private person herself. Next to Omega though, Hannah felt the most comfortable sharing things with him personally, and she hoped he felt the same way with her.
Meanwhile, at the other side of the parlor, Hunter was continuing to sulk and question his life choices. Occasionally, he would look over and watch Hannah and Echo as they put things away and chatted, with Hannah intermittently letting out her signature laugh, one of Hunter’s favorite sounds. It would be a lie if he didn’t admit he was a bit jealous of his brother in that moment. And the revelation of this almost hurt him; had he really gotten to that point? Seeing Hannah with one of his brothers instead of him should be fine, there was no need to worry. He knew Hannah only thought of Echo as a friend, a brother even... right?
Oof. Maybe he should’ve gotten that extra drink after all.
It was almost a relief when Wrecker started walking up towards Hunter, his drink still in hand. Almost. Until Wrecker opened his mouth.
“So uhh, are ya actually gonna... you know...” Wrecker leaned in closer and whispered loudly, “ask Hannah to go out?”
Hunter sighed loudly, almost morphing into a groan. “Why are you so concerned with what I’m doing with Hannah, Wrecker?”
“Well, it’s just like I said before, I’d do it myself, but...”
In the brief pause Wrecker gave, Hunter had a serious internal talk with himself. It was apparent that his brothers weren’t going to relent in their pursuit of trying to get him and Hannah together. But his feelings hadn’t changed. He still believed it was too risky to try and have a relationship with her. He still believed that she deserved better, that someone else could give her the life that she deserved. It didn’t matter that he was willing to take on the entire galaxy for her. And it certainly didn’t matter how overwhelmingly happy she made him feel. Her life and her feelings were all that mattered. And if someone else, even one of his own brothers, could make that difference, then it was worth giving her up for that.
“Wrecker, if you wanna ask her out that badly, then go ahead.”
Wrecker blinked in surprise at his brother. “Wha... really?”
Hunter nodded in response.
“But... but I thought...”
Hunter grabbed Wrecker by the arm and practically shoved him in the direction of the bar, saying, “Just go already, will ya?”
Wrecker took a few glances between Hannah, who was still chatting with Echo, and Hunter, who was continuing to shoo his brother away from him. “Oh, alright, if ya say so, Hunter!”
Hunter just watched as Wrecker proudly walked towards the bar to ask Hannah the question he himself couldn’t ask. It was done. Whatever was about to happen would be better for the both of them.
With all the pride he could muster, Wrecker stepped up to the counter and loudly cleared his throat before asking Hannah to come over for something.
“Just a sec, Big Guy,” Hannah replied, several bottles in one of her arms. “Lemme finish putting these away real quick.”
Wrecker tapped his fingers on the counter impatiently, which annoyed Tech to the point where he literally stood up and left the counter entirely.
Eventually, Hannah got all the bottles put away and finally walked over to Wrecker. “Alrighty, buddy, what’s up?”
Every ounce of pride and confidence Wrecker had been storing for this moment suddenly disappeared. His eyes bugged out, and he was sure his skin was starting to turn pale. “Uhh, well uhh, ya see...” Hannah had her hands on her hips and was staring at Wrecker expectantly, which only made things worse. He twiddled his fingers for a moment before speaking again. “Uhhhhhhhhhh....” He looked around, panicking, trying to figure out what he should say. Only one thing was coming to mind, so he blurted it out without even thinking. “Hunter has somethin’ he wants to ask you!!”
Everyone in the room looked at Wrecker with shock before turning to Hunter. He looked like a deer in the headlights with everyone’s gaze on him, which quickly morphed into an agitated look directed towards Wrecker.
“Umm, is that so?” Hannah inquired, quirking an eyebrow at the man in question.
“Yeah,” Wrecker replied. “He just uhh, didn’t wanna say anything while you were workin’. Right, Hunter?”
Hunter was still giving Wrecker an agitated look but sighed deeply, knowing there was no way out of this one, and strutted over to the counter. “Yeah... thanks, Wrecker.” He wasn’t even trying to hide the dryness of his tone.
Wrecker only responded with a cheeky grin and a thumbs-up.
Thankfully, Hannah didn’t seem phased by the incident, or at least she wasn’t showing it. “Well, that’s very sweet, but you didn’t have to do that, Wrecker. Hunter knows he’s never a bother to me.” She gave him a sassy yet warm smile, which made him smile in return. “Alright so, what’s your question?”
It was silent for a moment as Hunter collected himself. He began having another internal discussion with himself, accessing the situation and trying to figure out if there was any way to fix this. It wouldn’t be too difficult to come up with some simple lie that Hannah would easily believe. But that wasn’t what he wanted to do. What he wanted to do... he couldn’t. Could he? No. He’d already had this discussion with himself, many times. It had to be this way. Why was he even debating this? It didn’t matter how simple it would be to just ask her the question... especially with that adorable expectant look on her face. Hmm... maybe... maybe it wouldn’t be so bad... to just ask...
“Hannah... I...”
“HEY RED!!!” Cid’s voice came booming from down the hallway, spooking Hannah so badly, she actually shrieked. “Get in here!! And bring that new dust cleaner I told ya to get this morning!!”
Hannah exhaled and then looked at Hunter solemnly. “Sorry... hold that thought.” Then she scurried down the hall to Cid’s office, leaving Hunter feeling deflated and dejected.
“Aww man,” Wrecker lamented. “Sorry ‘bout that, Hunter. I was just...”
Hunter waved him off and walked back to the corner of the parlor, sulking even harder than he had before.
Wrecker then turned to Omega, who had been sitting and watching the whole thing. “Man, I feel like an idiot now...”
Omega patted his arm reassuringly, saying, “It’s not your fault, Wrecker. You were just trying to help. Let me try talking to Hunter, ok?” Wrecker just nodded in response before Omega made her way over to Hunter.
It seemed like Hunter had managed to find the darkest spot in the entire parlor, which genuinely made Omega sad. She hated seeing any of her brothers upset, but it hurt more with Hunter. A small box was nearby him, which Omega hopped onto to sit on. It was silent for a moment before she decided to say anything.
“You don’t have to be so nervous, you know.”
No response.
“She wouldn’t reject you.”
“I know she wouldn’t,” Hunter finally responded. “That’s not... I’m not...”
Omega scooted closer to him. “I know. That’s not what I’m talking about.”
Hunter side-eyed his sister as she continued to speak.
“I know how much you care about her. And it’s ok. You shouldn’t feel guilty for that. You don’t feel guilty for caring about the rest of us like you do. I don’t see why Hannah should be any different.”
Hunter swallowed hard, taking a deep breath in through his nose. “Omega...” He almost couldn’t bring himself to say what he was about to say. “The way I care about her... it’s... it’s not the same. It’s different. You all are my family. She’s... different.”
“Do you not consider her part of the family?”
Hunter had to think for a moment about how to respond to that. “No, I do. She is part of the family. But like I said, it’s different. And I can’t...” He took another deep breath before continuing. “I can’t put the same expectations on her that I do for the rest of you. I can’t expect her to live that kind of life.” His head practically drooped down to the floor in sorrow. “I don’t want that for her...”
A brief moment of silence before Hunter felt his sister’s presence even closer now.
“Do you think that’s what she wants?”
This revelation rocked Hunter down to the core. It was like being struck by lightning. Had he really been so caught up in his own feelings that he hadn’t even considered what Hannah might want? But then again... wasn’t that the point? He was trying to protect her. He didn’t want her to get hurt. But what if trying to avoid a relationship was doing more harm than good for her? It was becoming almost too much for Hunter to try and figure out by now, and he slumped over, head in his hands, with a mighty huff.
Omega gently placed a hand on her brother’s arm. Somehow, she still knew exactly what he was thinking. “It’s ok, Hunter. You don’t have to figure it out right now.”
She was right. There was still time to figure things out. A simple conversation with Hannah could clear all of this up, as hard as it would be to initiate. But that was for later. Hunter had other things he could deal with in the meantime. He looked at his much smaller, yet somehow older and wiser sister, and gave her a grateful smile. “Thanks, kid.”
The smile was returned tenfold, with Omega’s love for her brother on full display just from the look on her face.

How dose someone take the ake away from there heart when they lose a son.and then they lose the one they love.then there left feeling empty alone and such sorrow?sometimes its hard to ketch my breath.its like a thought is a kick in the chest.memories good and bad are all the same.only sadness.its suppose to get better with time?but its only worse.another day with out seeing there smile or hearing there voice?i think I will forever feel this sorrow.i will forever feel alone.will I ever feel the love that they felt for me again? I think not.
It does feel like the pain, sadness, and sorrow will last forever. It continues like that until you learn to live with what's been taken from you. The way I see it is that it's less about "getting over" something and more about learning to live with what's happened. It never ceases to amaze me how much we can take and still wake up in the morning. We're such arrogant, stubborn, and wilful animals. I've never lost a child, at least, not one that's been carried to term, so I can't provide anything regarding personal experience but it was a sad moment in my life and I have to carry the weight of that. I wasn't ready to be a father. I'm still not ready. Maybe it'll never happen. I would've made it work though because that's who I am. Just when I think I can't take anymore, I find a way. I hope you manage to find a way, too.

With season 3 fast approaching, I'd like to finally post the project I've been working on since October:
Cinema Sins: Everything they did wrong/could have done better in TBB Season 2, according to me, and some other people.
Warning: this review of season 2 is very negative. If that's not your thing, then don't read. I did decide to add in some positivity about parts that were good writing choices and my personal favorite bits, but it doesn't start until episode 3. I would have added more in, but I have zero interest in watching season 2 again after all of the below atrocities. Please note: I'm just a very picky, very snobby writer when it comes to critiquing professionally produced content.
Season 2 episodes 1 and 2:
What they did wrong: Making us wait over a year for season 2 and giving us little to no updates about it. The perfect example of laziness and mindlessness.
Could have done better: the Batch's new outfits/armor. I get it, they had to blend in a little better. But it's just... not exactly right to me. Why is Tech's crotch not covered by his armor anymore? Was that for us or just a mindless choice made by the design department?
Could have done better: No visible damage on the ship after they escape the crabs. It looked like the crabs were ripping it up and yet the Batch were able to leave the atmosphere with no issues. OK.
What they did wrong: AZI being a drink server. Really? He's a medical droid and the writers didn't think to use him for something useful?? Wasted potential. Ok then.
What they did wrong: Not utilizing Bolo and Ketch yet. Really, what were the writers thinking?
What they did wrong: Having the Batch still working for Cid. I don't even need to defend this one.
What they did wrong: Introducing a love interest and then having her be rude to each of the Batch members right off the bat (Phee). At least try to make her likable? And she just dropped the cup into Cid's hands and ordered Wrecker around. Wow.
What they did wrong: Hunter giving in so easily to Cid's manipulation tactics.
What they did wrong: Having Wrecker aquire a new weapon only to have him never utilize it again. Maybe this will change in S3.
What they did wrong: The Batch never speak about how they still have Crosshair's sniper rifle after they acquired it in the last episode of S1. Really? Enough said.
What they did wrong: Having Tech break his leg only for it to have zero repercussions or healing time throughout the season. Lazy writing.
Season 2 episode 3:
Could have done better (rant incoming edition): I liked this episode, I liked seeing Cody and Crosshair working together. My problem is with the direction the writers decided to go with Crosshair's arc. I get why they did it; they wanted to show that Crosshair would see what the Empire was doing and slowly but surely change his mind on his own. I get it, but it's boring. I was really looking forward to Rampart and the Empire finding out that Crosshair escaped with the Batch on Kamino and dish out horrible punishment as a result and the Batch would need to rescue him, but we got this arc instead. Rampart even finds out that the Batch is alive and still doesn't do anything about it, he just keeps that information to himself. I get why, but still. Yawn.
Could have done better: Explaining why Crosshair is still in the black armor. Why demote him and then continue to put him in a different color armor than the other people at his level??? Or is it just because the other armor doesn't fit his unique build and the Empire doesnt want to waste resources on clones?
What they did wrong: Having Cody's squadron shoot the droids right as the droid was saying "there are no survivors" and then followed by "You can return to the city" "Roger Roger". Like hello???? Was it Crosshair that shot at them because he's not used to stealth missions, or did no one else hear the reply to go back to the city??? Explain this please.
Season 2 episode 4:
What they did wrong: HAVING THE BATCH STILL WORK FOR CID. ENOUGH SAID.
What they did wrong: Hunter and Echo had to deliver Chicken McNuggies and we don't get any references to this probably hilarious mission again.
Season 2 episode 5 (please note, watching this episode required an appetizer watch of a South Park episode, copious amounts of alcohol, and lots of hair being ripped from my scalp):
Could have done better: A LOT better. Part of what was making me tear my hair out was the musical score. I love the Kiner Bros work, but this particular episode's score drove me to tears. I hate it. Less dramatic, please.
What they did wrong: An appearance from Phee, followed by her being demeaning to Tech. Again, please at least try to make her likable.
What they did wrong: A side quest that did nothing for the plot.
What they did wrong: Hunter just going along with the rest of what the team wants. I get it, he has a soft spot for Omega and seeing her act her age and be excited to do something must be heart warming for him. But I'd love to see him in Sargent Mode again.
Could have done better: Older than the Jedi??? Please correct me if I'm wrong, but the Jedi are 25,000 years old. You're telling me something with this kind of tech existed before then? Bet.
Could have done better: The pacing. Yeah. We get it. It's a puzzle. Pace it faster please.
Could have done better: Hunter and Echo's look to each other before venturing into the place further. I would have loved for them to share a few lines. They both clearly didn't want this "mission".
What they did wrong: Having Phee, Hunter, and Omega get separated from the rest of the group. If you're going to sell us a love story about Phee and Tech, at least let them have some time together. I hate the idea of love interests in this show (unless it's in fan works), but if you're going to do it at least make it believable. It seems to me that Hunter and Phee have more chemistry in this episode (*vomits at the idea*) than Tech and Phee ever did. Phee just waves off Tech's ideas while she seems to play off of Hunter better.
What they did wrong: The stupid mechanical dinosaur thing. You're telling me it existed 25,000 years ago and was able to move again after all that time without a ship load of space WD-40? Bet.
What they did wrong: Hunter saving Phee instead of Tech saving Phee. Again, way more chemistry there.
What they did wrong: That mission was boring and all for nothing. Filler. Enough said.
Bonus: That poor droid 🫡
Season 2 episode 6:
Could have done better: The team trusting that Omega wouldn't find trouble. It's been over 6 months; they should know better by now.
Could have done better: Explaining why Hunter knows Wookie language. Maybe it's a throwback to the unfinished Clone Wars episode. I'm not sure. Is it because Hutter has more hair than the rest of the Batch?
What they did wrong: "We'll all find a new path." Bruh I don't think they meant a path downwards 9 episodes later 😳
Bonus: I'm not going to complain any more about this episode. The references to Order 66? The reaction of a Jedi seeing clones after Order 66? Seeing a Jedi on this show after Order 66 (aside from Kanan in Rebels)? Seeing Tech do more translating? Seeing Omega see a Jedi and also a lightsaber for the first time? Seeing Omega interact with another kid and showing extreme care towards him? Seeing Wrecker get excited about food while also seeing Echo get disgusted by it? Seeing Hunter go back into Sarge Mode? Wrecker imitating Wookie roars? "Where did the kids go?" A grizzly implied-death of a bad guy? "Hmm not bad?" "They're both just kids but they don't get to be, not in this galaxy"? Seeing normal Batch interactions like how they were back in season 1?????? I'm all for it. Give me more of that, damn it.
Season 2 episode 7:
What they did wrong (spoiler alert): Crosshair not being the secret sniper at 79s. Yawn.
What they could have done better: CT0409 not being a known clone from TCW.
What they did wrong: Not having Crosshair in the episode at all and yet having parts of his theme play. Quit amping us up just to have us be disappointed by the end of the season. Stop it. Get some help.
Bonus: CORUSCANT!!!!! WE GET TO SEE 79s!!!! OMG POLITICAL FIGURES TALKING ABOUT THE FUTURE OF THE CLONES! BAIL ORGANA! RIYO CHUCHI!!! RAMPART!!!!!! RAMPART'S THEME!!! CLONES TALKING TO RIYO ABOUT THE FUTURE! CT0409 REVEALING THAT RAMPART ORDERED TIPOCA CITY TO BE DESTROYED! RIYO AND RAMPART MEETING! "Follow the money"! Showing accurate shell shock in Riyo when her guard is killed? CAPTAIN REX???
Season 2 Episode 8
Could have done better (it took a while to get to this point because of how many good things this episode has): The Batch, Riyo, and Rex bringing Omega to see the dead body. Ok, for this one, I'm not placing the blame on the writers, as they were making the characters as canon as possible and I applaud that, but it doesn't show any growth aside from Echo, who is a bit more tactful by gently moving Omega away from the body.
What they did wrong: Make hints about (and eventually develop) the future Mount Tantiss Arc (more to come on this one).
What they did wrong: Ok, I admit this one is personal. Rampart being arrested. I loved him as a main villian. Ok moving on.
Could have done better: Echo's leave. It had to happen. I get it. But the goodbyes were a little less-than aside from Omega. It's not really implied about who knew and who didn't know that he was leaving aside from her. Also, it was very random and I admit that I did cry after the episode. Him kneeling in front of Omega was about the point where I was going "HEY! HEEEYYYYYY!" really loudly when I was still sharing a wall with my parents so.
Could have done better: Echo telling Omega to "keep an eye on the others". I have to admit, I'm really torn on this issue. We've been told that Omega is older than the Bad Batch, but developmentally, she still seems to be a kid. As a child who was parentified myself, that line struck a nerve in me. She's still a kid even though she may be older than the Batch (although it was never specified if she was older than Echo). I'm not sure how to feel about this.
Bonus: EVERYONE'S RELAXING! GONKY! OMEGA MEDITATING BECAUSE OF GUNGI! ECHO TALKING ABOUT HIS IMPRISONMENT AND HIS RESCUE! REX! STRATEGIC DEBATE! OMEGA SEEING CORUSCANT FOR THE FIRST TIME! ... The Batch are probably on the planet at the same time as Crosshair :( ahem... RIYO CHUCHI MEET THE BATCH! "Hello!" *Omega waves*!!! ECHO VOLUNTEERING TO BE A WITNESS! OMEGA OFFERING TO HELP! NEW OUTFIT FOR OMEGA! OMEGA MEETING RAMPART AND SHOWING DISGUST FOR HIM! RIYO SHOWING OMEGA THE SENATE FLOOR AND OMEGA EXCITEDLY RUNNING TO THE EDGE TO LOOK DOWN! RIYO FIGHTING FOR CLONE RIGHTS! OMEGA MEETING BAIL ORGANA! FORMER SENATOR OF KAMINO! OMEGA BEING UPSET! A LAMA SU REFERENCE! A GOOD OLD BAD BATCH MISSION FEATURING REX! WRECKER SHOWING DISCOMFORT! NEW WEAPON! ECHO AND REX TALKING ABOUT CLONES (sad foreshadowing but necessary)! REX IMPROVISING! WRECKER COMPLAINING ABOUT HEIGHTS! TECH DOING TECH THINGS! HUNTER SAYING "TECH" IN THE OLDER BROTHER SARGENT VOICE! "New plan. 14, 5, 86" "All of them?"(also 86 reminded me of my days in food service. It's code for "we're all out of ingredient/dish)! "I was off by 6.4 meters. Not my best."! MORE POLITICAL STUFF REGARDING THE CLONES! ECHO FLYING! EMPORER PALPATINE! OMEGA SEEING PALPATINE IN PERSON! PALPATINE BEING PALPATINE AND MANIPULATING THE SITUATION TO HIS FAVOR! IMPERIAL STORMTROOPER OFFICIALLY NAMED! The view of a child being like "I don't understand what went wrong when we did the right thing." :( What would have happened if the Batch didn't intervene??? OMEGA HUGGING ECHO!
Season 2 episode 9:
What they did wrong: They're still working for Cid. No further criticism needed.
Could have been better: Bad lookout planning. I stand with people that said that Hunter should have been the lookout. I get that the writers made everyone unbalanced on purpose but the team knows better.
What they did wrong: The ship being stolen. We get it. Every mission goes wrong. Yawn. Pick a different theme.
Could have done better: A Lion King refrence? Really, Disney? Yawn.
Possible plagiarism alert: Everyone go read "These Silver Linings" by Rowanartist on Ao3 NOW. I swear that someone on the creative team read this fanfiction centering around Tech and Omega and decided to almost exactly copy it. Weak.
Bonus: THE MUSIC! HUNTER TRACKING! OMEGA AND WRECKER TALKING ABOUT ECHO! Bruh all that designing from the creative team that went into the Ipsium drill! HUNTER'S SENSES BEING UTILIZED! OMEGA SEEING PARENTAL FIGURES FIGHTING! OMEGA FINALLY THROWING AN AGE APPROPRIATE FIT! TECH AND OMEGA BONDING! OMEGA PERIL! Just... beautiful scenery... THAT BREIF ANIMATION OF TECH CLEARING OUT HIS GOGGLES! TECH IS CANONICALLY AUTISTIC! CROSSHAIR IS FINALLY MENTIONED! TECH SHOOTING THE IPSIUM!
Season 2 Episode 10:
Could have done better: Ok, to be fair, I didn't make this same connection that my husband did. The second that the thief was on screen, my husband went "HONDO?!" and he was really disappointed that it wasn't Hondo when he took the helmet off. So I'm calling the design choice a fail.
Bonus: GONKY IS REFRENCED! Awesome use of manipulation and gaslighting from the antagonist in this episode also. OMG 5 PEOPLE ON THE SAME BIKE LOL! PRETTY SKY! WRECKER SMASH! OMEGA BEING INTIMIDATING! WRECKER ASKING GONKY IF HE'S OK! TECHNO UNION REFRENCE! BRUH THAT SCENE WITH HUNTER REPELLING DOWN! OMEGA AND BENNI TEAM UP! BICKERING BATCH! AWW TECH GAVE OMEGA HIS DATAPAD! OMEGA SHOWING KINDNESS! HUNTER PROTECTING HIS TEAM! DOUBLECROSSING! OMEGA PERIL! KIDS TEAMING UP TOGETHER! HUNTER AND OMEGA TRUST FALL! (seriously though, that was the ultimate show of trust right there) BAD GUY DED NOW! WRECKER PICKING UP GONKY! OMEGA AND TECH BONDING!
Season 2 Episode 11 (I'm going to get really critical on my review past this point. If that ain't your thing, stop reading):
What they did wrong: The entire Mount Tantiss arc as a whole. I was perfectly happy with Lama Suu being dead and Nala Se being taken into a secret base, never to be seen again. That should have been the end of it, but nope. The writers decided to extend that arc into the next season. I'm pretty sure that mostly everyone here had zero to no interest in a continuation until they reintroduced it. It seems like they're trying to tie it into the sequel trilogy that they ret conned a few years back. Why??? For what? As far as I'm concerned, all talk about the cloning technology should have ended after Tipoca City was destroyed. The end. Bye. Pick a different arc.
What they did wrong: The Batch decides to keep working for Cid even after she didn't help them.
Could have done better?: Tech saying "do not concern yourselves, I will be fine." Foreshadowing.
Could have done better: Explaining why Omega is used to the cold but the Batch (mostly Wrecker) doesn't seem to like the cold.
What they did wrong: More cloning shenanigans. All Zillo Beast stuff should have died in TCW. Enough said.
What they did wrong: The Batch staying to fight instead of leaving immediately. Fr why are we here? This is pointless and boring.
Could have done better: Explaining what happens to those villagers. I'm autistic so it's difficult to put the pieces together. Explain better.
What they did wrong: Again with Mount Tantiss. NO. JUST NO. Pick a different arc.
Bonus: Ok yeah this is a scary episode. Creepy scenery. The screaming. Yes. Omg it's a clone commando. He skid. Zappy fail. Oh no he above. Ok fine Hemlock is a cool character. Also Emerie. And no music for a few minutes is a bit unsettling. Ahem. OMEGA TRYING TO SAVE PEOPLE IN THE SHIP! THE TEAM BEING INTERESTING! OMEGA SHOWING KNOWLEDGE FROM HER PAST! ALIEN REFRENCE! THE MUSIC AGAIN YAS! EVERYONE SHOOTING TOGETHER! "Facinating" EVERYONE PROTECTING OMEGA! "It ate the crew? It ate the crew." FOLLOWED BY WRECKER COMFORTING! OMEGA AND TECH COLLABORATING! HUNTER PILOTING! OMEGA SHOWING KNOWLEDGE! TECH SAVING OMEGA! TECH GETTING OMEGA ON THE SHIP! OMEGA COMFORTING FROM LULA! ECHO AND REX ARE MENTIONED!
Season 2 Episode 12:
I'm starting out with the good this time, as there's literally only one complaint I have about this episode. THE MUSIC! OMG A CROSSHAIR EPISODE FINALLY! BRAGG FROM LAST SEASON! LIEUTENANT ASSHOLE! ICE VULTURE! CLONE SASS! MORE CLONES! CROSSHAIR TALKS WITH A REG! MAYDAY! AMBIGUOUS ICE VULTURES! CROSSHAIR SNIPING! CROSSHAIR TRACKING! CROSSHAIR SLIDING! THE DEADWEIGHT EXCHANGE! CROSSHAIR HAS TO RELY ON MAYDAY FOR HELP! CLONE FORCE 99 IS MENTIONED! MORE BANTER! TRUST! TEAMWORK! PERFECT AIM! FLOP! CROSSHAIR REALIZES THAT THE EMPIRE IS SHIT! THE ANIMATION IS SO FUCKING GOOD WITH THE SNOW AND THE PARTICLES AND THE FOG! CROSSHAIR SAVES MAYDAY! CROSSHAIR AND MAYDAY WHUMP! CROSSHAIR AND MAYDAY USING THE SNIPER RIFLE AS A CANE! CROSSHAIR PLEADING FOR A MEDIC FOR MAYDAY! THE ANGER AND RAGE IN CROSSHAIRS FACE OMG I CAN'T! LITERALLY EVERYTHING THAT UNFOLDS AFTER THIS (except the ending) IS JUST YES OMG!
What they did wrong: Mount Tantiss again. Yawn. And it came out of nowhere too, like was the Empire just waiting for Crosshair to screw up so they could send him to Mount Tantiss? Explain.
Season 3 Episode 13:
It admittedly took a while for me to get to this episode because it is one of my most hated episodes but here we go.
What they did wrong: Phee putting Omega in a dangerous situation.
What they did wrong: Still working for Cid.
What they did wrong: GET YOUR HAND OFF TECH!
My own opinion: This episode made me anxious and I'm not sure if the creators planned this. The comfort? Omega being a kid? A nice meal? Hmm. Gives me the ick and I don't like it.
My Californian opinion: Ok, as a native Californian looking at other people's interpretations of an earthquake, the earthquake/tsunami scene was terror for me. The animals acting strange was the first sign for me. Earthquakes are LOUD. Shaking is one thing, but seeing the animals react before the quake, hearing the loudness of the stuff moving... It really reminded me of real earthquakes here. The oceans receding like omg get UP NOW! And thankfully, I haven't lived on the ocean but tsunamis are a real threat that I feel like they really nailed. Kudos to the research team on this.
What they did wrong: Now showing Phee's interest in Tech. Wtf.
What they did wrong: Phee redirecting Tech away from part of his team. Isolating behavior. Ick.
Bonus: HUNTER USING HIS ENHANCED SENSES! THE TEAM WORKING TOGETHER! WRECKER THEME! TECH BEING TECH! OMEGA SHOOTS! A MISSION IS A SUCCESS! Um... Omega, Hunter, and Wrecker all shake with their left hands but Tech shakes right? Hmm. "I have not heard her laugh like that in some time" THE FATHER REFRENCE YEE! "Have fun" "I'm full. I am never full!" "I will note the date and time to commemorate such an occasion" "I'm so sorry. But you're safe here." THE WATER SCENE WAS SO GOOD OMG! AND THE YUCKY WATER THEY SHOW THE DAY AFTER YAS THAT'S ACCURATE!
Season 2 episode 14:
Bonus: WOW WE REALLY OUT HERE STARTING THE EPISODE WITH HOWZER AND THEN ECHO AND GREGOR COME TO SAVE HIM! ECHO SAYING "I need more time" JUST LIKE TECH! CROSSHAIR! WHUMP YEE! AND THEN SENATOR CHUCHI! WOW! MORE CROSSHAIR WHUMP! CROSSHAIR FIGHTING BACK! MOUSE DROID! CROSSHAIR HAVING GOOD AIM DESPITE NOT BEING 100% HEALTH! CROSSHAIR WARNING THE BATCH TO STAY HIDDEN! WRECKER CATCHING FEESH! FLYING LESSONS! SCARED TECH! THE TECH TURN! DRIFTING, GIRL! LEFT HAND SHAKE! ECHO HUG! WRECKER CHASING THE KIDS! THAT CUTE LITTLE SCREAM FROM OMEGA! YAY THE SECOND CROSSHAIR REFRENCE!
What they did wrong: Echo not having his kama. No explanation needed.
What they did wrong: The Princess Bride reference. I get why the writers did it. It makes Hemlock scarier, but honestly I would have preferred to see him in a gas mask or something.
Season 2 episode 15:
It took me a lot of weeks to get to this point. Let's do it.
What they did wrong: Phee trying to get Tech to act more neurotypical. Nah.
Could have done better: Tech being separated from the team.
What they did wrong: Saw Gurrera. Enough said.
Could have done better: Gurrerra's efforts not doing a damn thing that mattered in the end.
Bonus: CROSSHAIR REFRENCE! TECH WANTS TO GO FOR CROSSHAIR! KRENNIC APPEARANCE! I love Wrecker's fear of heights tbh. NO TECH DON'T SLIP! Wrecker asking Omega if she can handle placing the tracker aww. Everyone working together and comming! Typical deterral chaos! MOUSE DROID DEATH NOOOOO! TECH BEING SMARTER THAN GURRERA! Ok tbh they did Krennic beautifully in like the 2 minutes of screentime he has. OOO THEY DOING BLASTER BOLTS AT THE TK TROOPERS! TEAM TOGETHER AGAIN!
Bonus: Music edition!
The music at 23 minutes was the sign that I knew something big was going to happen. I love and hate that.
Season 2 episode 16:
THE MUSIC IN THIS WHOLE EPISODE. The music is literally why I didn't want to watch this episode again. From the moment it started, it put a hole in my stomach. This episode has the best and worst score in the series because of all of the emotion, terror, and helplessness it held. When this episode was released, I was going to be married less than a month later. This score left me so breathless and unable to function for so many days that I was worried that I wouldn't be able to shake the dread and uneasiness that it caused by the time it was my wedding day (my day turned out perfectly btw). Just a beautiful and terrifying score and it still evokes the same emotions as the day it was first played for us.
What they did wrong (Everything is on this What They Did Wrong because yes): Tech slipping again and being separated. That jump. Killing Tech. I'm one of the #tech'snotdead believers tbh. But the writers didn't need to do us so dirty here. Hunter being offscreen mostly when holding Omega back. They decided to go back to Pabu. Tech's goggles? The way Hemlock talked to Omega always rubbed me the wrong way. So creepy. Not having Crosshair say any more lines. Emerie being another female clone.
Bonus: The 99 refrence. Wrecker's "NOOOO". Hunter jumping to save Omega during the crash. Hunter and Echo in the background. Omega calling Tech's name. The in and out of consciousness thing. Hunter carrying Omega's bow. Wrecker carrying Omega. Omega's POV. AZI!!! Wrecker and Omega hug. Everyone caring for Omega. Cid showing care. Echo remembering Tech in the pilot's seat. Honestly I get Cid's position. Hunter getting Omega out of there. The paternal comment. Cid's hesitancy. Omega trying to protect her family! "Echo?" " Gotta be Echo" Scorch carrying Omega. Hunter watching Hemlock's ship leave. Hunter with Wrecker's gun. The ship having stuff broken. "We are going to get her back and we don't stop searching until we do." Omega being reunited with Nala Se.
We are finally at the end of our journey for season 2. I don't know exactly what I was expecting, but it wasn't this. Season 1 was so perfect, and it felt like they were setting up for an earlier Crosshair redemption. It completely reminds me of when The Force Awakens came out and it had such promise, but then the next 2 movies were, to put it lightly, garbage, and it's because they refused to listen to what the fans wanted. I do not trust the writers at Lucasfilms to make good decisions anymore. They've ripped the rug out from under us for too long. I've been honestly very angry about Season 2 and it wasn't until I got the idea of watching it again to point out all the flaws and facepalm moments that I realized just how angry I was.
I was hopeful when the season 3 trailer dropped, but then after a few certain scenes were shown, I was left facepalming and groaning about the writer's choices again, but I was willing to have some hope. Then the sneak peek dropped and my hopes lowered yet again.
Here's how I hope season 3 to go:
Crosshair and Omega escape Mount Tantiss but Omega is captured again and Crosshair is forced to leave her.
Crosshair finds the Batch (or what's left of them) and teams up with them.
The Batch hires bounty hunters, Ventress included, (not sure where they get the credits to hire them but whatever) to help get Omega back.
The mysterious clone is Tech.
The Batch finds out that the mysterious clone is Tech.
The mission changes to "we're getting Omega and Tech back"
Omega and Tech are back and everyone lives and goes into hiding.
The end. No room for ambiguity and no loose ends. I want to see a finality in the series finale, like in TCW. These people are definitely alive, and these people are definitely dead. No leaving us wondering. Just us going "That's it. That's the end."
I still don't trust the writers though.

was ‘healing & wholeness through death’ always Dabb’s intention
Content note: discussions of suicide attempts, including quotes from the show on that topic; and the concept of death as the solution to problems
*
Mary should have been the blaring warning siren and I didn’t listen.
Castiel: I'm looking for someone. Dumah: Mary Winchester? If that's why you're here, then you should leave now. Castiel: Why? There may be a way to bring her back. Dumah: Why would you want to do that? … She is at peace. You know, she died painlessly. Instantly. Completely. She's in Heaven, a special Heaven. Mary Winchester is complete. You and the Winchesters may not be. But she is. -14x18 (Robert Berens) -transcript from superwiki
“Completeness” in death. Mary, now dead and in Heaven, is “complete,” says the story. And, in this moment in s14, the Winchesters and Cas are apparently not “complete.”
Mary, who initially didn’t want to be alive:
Mary: I didn’t ask to come back here. Billie: No, you didn’t. And you hate it. The look in your eyes – I’ve seen it before. It’s a dead man’s look. Eyes that say no matter where you go, what you do, it feels like this world doesn’t fit anymore. Like you’re all alone. Dean: Well, she’s not alone. Billie: Tell me I’m wrong. [Mary doesn’t answer] I’m not here to hurt you. I’m here to offer you mercy. One way ticket upstairs. Away from all of this. [Mary hesitates] Mary: How would it work? Sam: Mom! Billie: Reapers don’t kill people. Rules. Mary: Well, then -- [She looks at Sam and Dean, then turns to look back at Billie] Then I guess you’re just gonna have to wait. -12x06 (Steve Yockey)
Mary, who struggled so hard with being pulled out of her heavenly paradise and given her life back. Mary, who struggled to get over the loss of her husband, and the loss of her previous life, and the loss of the two little children she had wanted to raise.
Mary, who held a gun to her own head more than once. Mary, who, at one point, sincerely begged Ketch to kill her:
MARY LEANS UP AGAINST MR. KETCH, GRABS HIS GUN AND BACKS AWAY. MR. KETCH: Mary MARY COCKS THE GUN AND PUTS BELOW HER CHIN. MR. KETCH: No. MR. KETCH GRABS FOR THE GUN AND MANAGES TO KNOCK IT AWAY AS IT GOES OFF. MR. KETCH: Ow! Ah! MARY: Then you do it! Kill me. All my life, all I ever had, other than my family, was my will. MARY BEGINS TO CRY. MARY: And it's going away. I'm – I'm putting people in danger. I'm putting my sons in danger. You have to – MARY DROPS TO HER KNEES. MARY: Please. For God's sake, kill me. MR. KETCH: Mary. MARY: Just do it! MR. KETCH: Mary, listen to me. It won't be long now. This will all be over. I promise. MARY: No. MR. KETCH: I promise. MARY: No. KETCH WALKS OUT OF THE ROOM AND LEAVES MARY IN DESPAIR. -12x21 (Buckleming) -transcript from superwiki
Mary later rejected death, although looking back at it now, in retrospect, she rejected it not quite so much on the basis of “living is good, actually,” but more on the basis that Heaven isn’t good enough (… not yet, as it turns out):
[Kevin tears open his shirt revealing a sigil carved into his chest.] … KEVIN: Michael says… that when I get to Heaven-- when he lets me into Heaven-- I'll get to see my mom again. MARY: I've been to Heaven, and what's there… it's just memories. Nothing's real. -13x20 (Glynn) -transcript from superwiki
(I was so happy for her when I first watched this, because I thought it was a sign that she would be turning the corner and getting the opportunity to heal in life, and on a long-term basis. But………….)
Mary then did find strength and purpose in her life and her job – hunting, helping Jack, helping the AU World hunters. She came back to Sam and Dean’s world and forged stronger relationships with them. She started a romantic relationship with AU Bobby, although it seems that she had her troubles with it:
MARY: Bobby's not open like your dad. SAM: Wait. Like my dad? MARY: Okay. At least he's not like your dad was when I knew him. SAM: Right. MARY: Bobby's got walls, big ones. I just don't know if I can do that if I even ever put myself out there again. -14X05 (Glynn)
Her one true love, ultimately, was John. And then, in 14x13, she was hit hard by the loss of John just after getting him back again:
SAM: Uh, the, uh… the lore is pretty clear. We destroy the pearl, and it unwinds all of this. Dad goes back… and so will everything else. MARY: And he won’t remember anything? [SAM shakes his head.] SAM: No. [MARY nods. She shakes her head, crying.] MARY: Sam, I can’t.
*
[JOHN and MARY take each other’s hand.] MARY: I hate this. JOHN: So do I. … My girl. [MARY smiles through tears.] JOHN: I miss you so damn much. MARY: Me too. -14x13 (Dabb and Glynn) -transcript from superwiki
Mary’s next episode, 14x17, is her death.
(In between, we have 14x14, with Cas’ speech to Jack about appreciating the time they have with their short-lived human loved ones, and carrying on when they are gone. At the time I suppose I thought it was foreshadowing for Mary, but in retrospect it’s broader than that, isn’t it.)
So, at the point of Mary’s death, she’s not actively suicidal anymore. But her losses have been recently emphasized, and so has her pain. Her husband is dead.
And then comes 14x18 and her “completeness.” We find out in 14x19 that she and John are sharing a Heaven. She is at peace, we hear, because she is with her husband in the afterlife.
All in all, in retrospect, this concept of “completeness in death” – of having death be your reward and your happy ending – pervaded the Dabb era from the start. We learned as early as 12x19 that Jack would build a “paradise,” and now we know what that paradise is: this remodeled Heaven in which Dean can, apparently, have what wanted but couldn’t have on earth and in life. Dean, who -- though he wasn’t actively suicidal in 15x20 -- has also struggled mightily with wanting to be dead, and who has been suicidal in the past.
It results in this concept that, as long as you’re not actively suicidal (anymore!), dying at the age of 41 (or approx. 32, in Mary’s case) is fine. This concept that it’s good, actually, because then you’ll be whole and at peace.
I find this deeply disturbing. I know that the ‘reunited in Heaven’ concept works for some (and I think I wouldn’t even necessarily have a problem with it if it were explicitly shown to be happening at the end of a long and happy life). But as presented in canon, involving the characters that it does, with their lives being cut short the way they are, I do find it deeply disturbing. Personally, I’m finding myself (emotionally speaking) backing away from the entire Dabb era with my hackles raised.
And I feel stupid for not seeing it. Or, truthfully, for seeing some of it and then convincing myself that it wasn’t there, that I was wrong, that TPTB couldn’t be leading the story in that direction. For, I guess, buying into what I read as the Carver-era ‘retirement’/‘living a long and happy life’ themes so hard that I didn’t let myself focus on anything else. For always being half-afraid that TPTB would re-fridge Mary, so that when they finally did it I just went, “Well, that’s that :(” without examining the themes around it closely enough.
For not taking all the warning bells seriously.
I want to make sure to say this clearly: It is absolutely possible to heal in life. Friends, and loved ones, and old relationships and new relationships, and love, and loyalty, and peace, all exist in life, able to be found and created. Healing exists in life. Contentment. New experiences and excitement and joy and beauty. Nobody’s too traumatized for that. Dean and Mary deserved that. Everybody does.

Okay, so when I watched Pac-Man Fever, this ep. became the mark of when I stopped to think of Charlie as an okay character, just not enough to really love, and started to actively dislike her.
She is one of those characters who choose to be hunters because they wanted it. Not only that, she literally read their books and started to act like she was a hunter. She read the books and still thought of hunting as something magical, as a quest. No, just no.
Then she comes back of Oz and we learn that she single-handed ended a war. But! She made a deal that separated her good self from her bad self. And when you hurt one the other would feel it. So, we were supposed to feel bad that her good self was getting hurt with the hits her bad self took, while we ignore that her bad self is out there hurting people.
Also, we can't forget that Charlie is the most awesome person ever! The Leviathans can't duplicate her, because she is! So! Perfect! She becomes the best hunter ever only because she read the Supernatural Books. She automatically knows more than Sam, fights better than Sam and Dean combined, is smarter than everyone else on the entire planet and is so funny to top it off! Never mind that she read the books, all of them, she still thanked only Dean for saving the world, and made a joke about how Sam's girlfriends always died, super fun!!
Not only that, Charlie has some incredible superpowers:
1) Everyone becomes instantly stupid when she enters the room (mostly Sam, but it's okay, because SPN writers do enjoy to put Sam down to make other characters shine). Suddenly, Sam doesn't know how computers work! Sam can't research anymore, but it's okay, because Charlie is there. Sam and Dean are suddenly incompetent, but it's okay! Charlie will save the day, you guys!
2) Everyone instantly falls in love (platonically or not) with her on first sight! Three episodes in and Dean already considered her the little sister. Ketch stays to save her in the AU World! These are just some of the great examples of how Charlie is so, so perfect.
3) She is Sam's age, but she's a baby! Her actions, her mistakes, her dumb moments are always someone else's fault (read, Sam's fault). She chose to help with the Book of the Damned, she chose to leave the safe place because Rowena was annoying her, those choices got her killed. But, of course, it was Sam's fault. (And that's not misogynistic at all, the poor woman that must be treated as a baby and who is unable to be responsible for her actions).
4) Last, but not the least, since all her "bad" moments are not her own, she is, therefore, perfect. Everyone is always gushing about her, because Charlie makes no mistakes (if they say it enough, maybe they will hypnotize the audience into believing in it).
In short, it's actually fortunate that Charlie died in season 10. I think that, if she came back on another episode, there wouldn't be SPN anymore: every time Charlie came back, she came back so much stronger than the last time she was around... So I think she would be able to end all monster single-handed if she appeared again.
That being said, Charlie is actually another example of how SPN writers suck at developing young female characters (and by young, I mean female characters that are not in the motherly role). I would like her a lot more if we got to see her as a human, who makes mistakes, who is treated like an adult, than how we got to see her: the true definition of Mary Sue.

I honestly don't like SPN as a whole much at all anymore.  Like, I don't like the show as a whole, I don't like 90% of the characters, I don't like 90% of the fandom, and I don't like the concept itself("heroic" Hunters going around mercilessly killing "evil" Supernaturals and being praised for it).
Before you ask why I started watching it if I don't like it, I didn't always dislike it.  When I was younger, my sibling made me watch it, I got attached to Cas, and I didn't realize how bad Dean was and how fucked up Hunting was, so for a while I liked it.
And I still like my OCs, of course, and there are still a couple characters that I like and some that I at least have soft spots for, but I honestly hate just about everything else about the show, including the majority the most popular "heroic" and "good" and "neutral" and "not completely villainous" characters in some way:
Dean: this one is obvious, and I've gone through my massive lists of reasons that I hate him before, but the biggest ones are him being abusive as fuck to everyone he's close to, and how he's a prejudiced speciesist genocidal serial killer(a fact which is a major contributing factor to his abuse, as all of the people he treats the worst are/were supernatural in some way)
Sam: Like Dean he is a Hunter, and also he didn't ever get Jack away from Dean, he didn't defend Cas or Jack against Dean enough, he allowed/encouraged Jack to Hunt, and he is so codependent with Dean that he'll let anyone else suffer or die to save Dean or because Dean told him to do it
Cas: I have a soft spot for him, but he is still a Hunter, and still didn't stop Jack from Hunting or get Jack away from SamnDean ever, and he mercilessly killed tons of Supernaturals, including his own siblings, due to the Winchesters' brainwashing.  And it was brainwashing; he was abused and beaten into submission first by Heaven and then by Dean, hence I don't hate him, and I still have a soft spot for him
Jack: He is a Hunter, and almost all of the portrayals of him I've seen have been pro-Hunter, but I let it slide and still kind of like him, because he's a literal child who has been abused into thinking that what he and his "family" are doing when they Hunt is "saving people" and "using his powers for good"
Bobby: Literally wanted to kill a baby for being supernatural(Olivia the shifter), helped Dean force Sam into the torture-detox, and is of course a Hunter
Charlie: is a Hunter, canonically killed a teenage vampire, and doesn't even have a "tragic backstory" to explain why she's a prejudiced serial killer; like, she never lost anyone to an evil supernatural or anything, she literally was just saved from an evil supernatural by SamnDean a couple times and decided she wanted to "fight monsters" too
Claire: is a Hunter, is basically a female Dean personality-wise, her girlfriend was racistly killed for her whitegirlpain(also said girlfriend was a supernatural who teamed up with the people who kill her kind for a living), and I had some unpleasant experiences with rping with a Claire on an SPN rp server, which has caused me to hate her more than I did before
Jody: She's a Hunter and a Cop, and it annoys me how everyone worships her as this "super-awesome mom who adopts all the kids", when she only takes in kids who were hurt by Supernaturals(and never any hurt by Hunters), and she tells them all sorts of good things about Hunters and SamnDean and whatnot.  Those Hunter Stories are likely part of why Claire was obsessed with Hunting and thought that Hunting was the best way to "rebel" and "be independent and badass"
Garth: He's not quite as bad after he became a werewolf, but he's still a species-traitor who befriended and is cool with Hunters, and he, after he became a werewolf might I add, canonically blew up a whole warehouse for of supernaturals to save SamnDean
Mary Winchester: She join the BmoL, a genocidal hate group, who’s members tortured and r*ped her son, because she agreed that their genocidal goals were “good” and “saving people”!
Ellen and Jo, Eileen, Henry Winchester, Samuel and Deanna Campbell, and all one-off Hunter, MoL/BMoL, and Hunter-Ally characters: I don't remember enough about them to truly hate them, but they are all Hunters/MoL, so I automatically dislike them just based on that fact
Donna: Same as the characters above, but she's also a cop, and I remember her being speciesist in the episode with the Pishtacos
Mick Davies: He’s a BMoL Agent, and he killed an innocent teenage girl just because she was turned into a werewolf!
Arthur Ketch: He's a BMoL Agent, and he killed Magda Peterson, an abused teenage girl, just because she was a Supernatural!
Benny: wasn't the worst, but was a species-traitor who worked with Hunters against his own kind
Gabriel: the alien anal probe r*pe thing, and the fact that he sometimes worked with SamnDean(though I understand why he did so during the Michael/Lucifer apocalypse)
Crowley: asshole, bad parent, murdered and tortured innocent people, worked with Hunters/SamnDean
Rowena: asshole, bad parent, murdered and tortured innocent people, worked with Hunters/SamnDean(though I like her more than Crowley, but only because she’s a hot and badass evil woman)
Michael: asshole, tortured Sam and Adam in the Cage, tried to start the apocalypse
Honestly, Adam is the only popular character I can't find anything to complain about; he's not a Hunter, never killed innocents or tortured anyone, or really did anything else wrong, and his life was shitty as fuck; first, he was killed and eaten by the ghoul siblings, then he was dragged out of Heaven to be used as Michael's meatsuit for the apocalypse, and after that he was tortured for literally thousands of years because his worthless "brothers" only cared about each other and didn't even try to save him

It started out with a XX
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4
I am putting Tags first so I don’t forget like the horrible trash panda I am: @casmick-consequences , @proudcasgirl , & @paintdriesfaster You have asked to be tagged, or for Casmick you are the reason this is here. The Date Continues  This is 100% unbeta’d and I am litterally on my work computer writing in between phone calls so. I apologize for any spelling errors or punctuation since I am a trash panda. XX love you all, enjoy
Castiel is under the impression that Mick Davies is an interesting human. The man seems charmed by many of the words that Castiel uses, and has no problems showing his obvious interest. There have been other humans in his time in this vessel that have shown a reaction to his person, and now that this body is his and no longer Jimmy’s it is an interesting notion that he would be coveted carnally from anyone. Still, Mick is interesting and the conversation that he engages in with Castiel over a shared dinner have kept Castiel enthralled at least. The dinner was odd, it still tasted like molecules, but Mick made a point to have him try a bite or two of everything and explain how he found the flavors.
The white sauce on the noodles, for example, Castiel knew was called Alfredo sauce, but Mick described it much better before he had Castiel try a bite off his fork. There was flavor that he hadn’t expected, on top of the molecules, but perhaps being described before eating was the difference. No one had ever thought to try that before. The breaded mushrooms were an odd texture that Castiel was not sure that he liked, but Mick did say that sometimes the dipping sauces made them better, and the sweet dessert was delicious, and tasted faintly of coffee. That was a beverage he missed from being human.
As far as humans go, Mick was charming and rather handsome, though at this point Castiel realized he had a type. Claire had pointed it out when he described Mick to her before the date. His eyes may not be the right shade of green that he prefers, but they are quite beautiful none the less. In fairness Mick had also dressed up for the occasion and was wearing an outfit similar to his own, though he was wearing brown. That was a brown slacks and waistcoat over a light blue shirt and a matching brown blazer. The overall effect was very charming, and very appealing. Castiel had on occasion browsed through different magazines and had seen similar outfits on different models, so he assumed it was a fashion thing, but Mick was able to pull it off nicely.  Of course there was a few glasses of wine with dinner, and Castiel was able to sip them carefully during conversation. It was true he had a rather high tolerance for alcohol, so it wasn’t that he needed to, but he had tried to keep pace with Mick to make sure that he blended in. Over all Castiel would say that the date was a success. Many times throughout the conversation he was able to pick up on the different flirtations that Mick was sending his way, and apparently he was sending back. Once or twice he was able to say something that made Mick laugh loudly and give him a wide smile that made his face mirror one in return. To say that dinner was pleasant would be an understatement.  After dinner Mick asked if he would like to take a walk and continue their conversation. It was getting darker outside, but still there was plenty of light with the street lamps and there was such a quaint little park they could walk around. It was simple to agree, and so they left hand in hand after Mick paid for their meal. “I insist Castiel, honestly it was mostly my meal anyway.” That was another strange feeling, being hand in hand with Mick. There was a brief moment where he remembered Daphne, she would hold his hand sometimes when they were out and about, but he never had this strange intimacy with another person after his memories came back. The hand in his own was not a dainty one, it was on the larger side with blunt fingers and the cool metal of a ring on his pinky finger. Over all he experience was new.  At one point Mick had released his hand, and of course Castiel frowned when he missed it immediately, only to have him slip Castiel’s hand in the crook of his elbow and seemingly step closer. “I am honestly surprised that you came out with me this evening.” They were on their second loop of the small park, their gait was slow and measured to eat up more time. Almost as if neither one was quite ready for the evening to end. “It seemed as though you were very much in the Winchester’s pockets and that they did not like me very much.”  “They do have a negative disposition to the British Men of Letters, Arthur Ketch left a rather bad taste in their mouths and I do not blame them for that, however they are not my keepers and I am free to make opinions on other humans.” Ever the peace keeper, or so it seemed, Castiel tried for a neutral ground. That was until Mick barked out a bit of a laugh.
“I would suppose so, though not all of us Brits are quite like Ketch. I am hoping you would have a better opinion of me after our date. Perhaps I should inquire as to another?” It seemed the man was looking at Castiel out of the corner of his eye, which was odd, but it only took a moment to realize that he was asking Castiel out on another outing. This was courting wasn’t it? The odd human custom?
“I would not be against another outing, though I had thought you were to return to England soon.” The words were out before Castiel could reel them back, but they were true none the less. Mick did not know that Castiel could travel to England with just a thought, so it wasn’t that the distance was a problem. Castiel would just like to know where he stood, it was so hard to gage with Dean where exactly things lay between them when Dean was in denial and never spoke. Perhaps this was Castiel’s way of making sure that whatever this was with Mick, it was different.   “I will have to return home eventually of course, but I would very much enjoy spending time with you whilst I can. Your conversation skills are spectacular, it is rather hard to have meaningful conversations about things anymore, and you are quite a sight to look at as well so that is a bonus for me.” These words were said with a smile and a pat to Castiel’s shoulder, “I am aware that our engagement here is limited, not just by time. I have eyes, I know I am not your first choice and that is fine with me, honestly. I just think that while I am here, I can show you what a relationship should be like, so that you know.” Stopping their circle of the park, they were in a bit of shadow of a corpse of trees but they could still see the stars if they were to look up. They didn’t.  “I will not take advantage of you, or your kindness. I want us to be open and honest with each other, so that when I do have to return to England, we could still walk away as friends and you can come to me with anything. Though right now, I would very much like to kiss you if you would be amenable?” The words were honest and open, much like the expression that Mick was wearing. Mick wanted a relationship, in what ever capacity that he could while he was here that could translate to a great friendship when he left, and honestly what did Castiel have to loose? The want to experience something good and meaningful after watching the one he wanted jump into bed with countless others....  “I am amenable.” The response was gruff and quiet, almost an afterthought, though Mick had heard it if the wide smile on his face was anything to go by. Oh so gently one of Mick’s hands cupped the side of Castiel’s head and guided their lips together in a sweet and soft touch. The kiss itself was chaste, but it seemed to cause an ache somewhere in the pit of Castiel’s stomach. It was genuine intimacy and affection, something he never knew he honestly needed, but with the gentle press of lips it was something that he was honestly going to crave. After a moment or two of soft pressure Mick pulled back to gage the reaction on the angel’s face.  “Well, no fireworks which is a shame, but I can live with that.” A slightly cocky smile lit the side of his mouth, “Unless you’d like another?”  “I always expected that kisses would be... more than just a press of lips.” It wasn’t that Castiel hadn’t experienced kisses, because he had on a few occasions, namely with women. Though the thought made him tilt his head slightly and squint in confusion.
“Ah, you were expecting more passion and enthusiasm perhaps? What kind of Brit do you take me for, a savage? This is a first date after all, need to keep you on your toes and coming back for a second one.” There was something akin to mischief in Mick’s eyes before he laughed, “well I suppose one more couldn’t hurt.” With that he did pull Castiel’s head down once again to meet his lips, this time with a bit more of a firmer touch. The scrape of stubble against his skin was a bit firmer now, and he could actually feel it. After some maneuvering to fit their lips just so, a hint of a tongue pressed against the seam of the angel’s lips and he opened to the onslaught of Mick’s rather talented tongue.
Unsure of exactly how long they stood there, in the slight shadow of the trees kissing quite like teenagers, they broke apart. A soft flush to Mick’s features made him more endearing in a way as he seemed to shiver and attempt to take a step back. It was a strange sensation feeling Mick release him, as it seemed that the hand that was not tangled into his hair had found his hip, not that he had noticed at the time. “Well now, that was... something else. Shall I return you home then Cinderella? Or is there a night in shining muscle around here somewhere waiting to whisk you away?”  “I do know how to drive.” Something about the way that Mick said the words was unsettling, though Dean did tell him to call when he was ready to be picked up. Castiel was an angel of the lord and he could take care of himself.
“Of course you do, I never said you couldn’t. Perhaps you could walk me to my car then?” Mick gave a soft chuff and a slight bow of an apology holding out his elbow again. Castiel missed that strange closeness so he nodded and tucked his hand into the crook and walked Mick back to the restaurant and to his car. Luckily he did not see the Impala anywhere on their walk, and Castiel indulged Mick with another kiss at the car before watching him climb inside. “Do let me know when you are free for another Date.” Mick said after yet another soft press of lips before driving off and down the street.  It was a few moments before Castiel moved and headed back to the park, keeping himself invisible from any kind of eyes until he was standing where he and Mick had been only a little while before. Pulling out his phone he sent off a text to Dean, letting him know that he was not going to need a ride home, nor would he be back that evening. There was far too much for the angel to think about at that moment, and far to much for him to replay to even attempt to be near Dean right now. Instead he found himself sitting on a bench in that park, staring at the emptiness of the night, not getting a reply from Dean at all, but that was fine. The hunter had probably fallen asleep anyway, it was better for him to get the rest than worry about Castiel.

The brothers stood together, arms crossed over their chest as they watched over the early morning training. Their attention, more often than not though, on you. You were new to the pack, only having been brought in about a month and a half ago. For the most part, you kept to yourself. You were polite, you spoke when spoken to, but when questions were asked, you got quiet. No one knew a thing about you, about where you came from, just that you asked to join after you were granted shelter, and then 3 weeks ago, you showed up on the training field and blew them all away.
“She’s good.” Dean mused, much like he did every time he got to see you fight.
“It’s weird though, right?” Sam mumbled next to him. “I mean, she’s weird. She smells weird.” Sam scrunched his nose.
“Are you going to tell her she smells weird?” Sam looked to his oldest brother questioningly. “Because if you are, let me know, I’ll go grab the camera. I’d fucking love to get her kicking your ass on film.” Dean smiled.
“Fuck you.” Sam spat, but Dean just chuckled. “We don’t know shit about her.”
“Dad’s letting her in. She’s in. You really going to turn that down?” Dean motioned to where you stood, fists up, but it wasn’t your fist that struck. Dean’s eyebrows almost hit his hairline as you kicked, your heel catching one of their best trackers in the nose. The brothers could hear the bone breaking from where they stood and Dean winced. “Damn, that’s flexible.” Dean licked his lips with interest.
“What the bloody hell!” they heard Ketch scream, hand clutching at his nose as blood poured through his fingers. He’d be healed and fine in a few hours, but that didn’t mean it hadn’t hurt. “This bitch broke my nose!”
“You're a tracker.” Dean called out as he started making his way closer, his eyes locked on you. “She fucks up your nose, you can’t track her by smell anymore. Smart.”
“I’m not tracking shit though! We’re training!”
“Then start training to block your damn nose.” Dean answered, eyes still on you. “Head for the doctor, he’s expecting you.”
A snarl was sent your way as he left you with Dean who was quietly watching you. “Are you my next opponent?”
Dean smirked. “I don’t think you can take me.”
“Try me.”
“Dean!” Sam called.
Dean looked back at Sam, the look Sam was giving him had Dean rolling his eyes before looking to you. “The run with the pack, it’s tomorrow night. If you want in, you run.” He saw the way your demeanor shifted, a flicker of your eyes, what looked like fear beyond them before it was wiped away. “You in?”
“I’ll be there.” you squared your shoulders.
“Can’t fucking wait to see your wolf.” Dean grinned. “I bet it’s beautiful.”
Dean’s smile only widened as you scoffed at him and turned away, headed off away from the training grounds and back towards the pack house. He frowned as he noticed the scars on the back of your shoulders that disappeared under the sweat soaked tank you’d been training in.
“What are you thinking so hard about?” Sam asked, stepping up to him.
“Did you know she had scars on her back?”
“I know she’s got a few on her arms.” Sam mused. “I’ve never seen her back.”
“Me either. I’ve never been this close to her dressed like that, either. She’s always wearing layers when she’s close to people.”
“She’s got some on her legs, too.” Charlie came and stood next to Dean. “Caught her going for a midnight swim two nights ago. I was coming back from a run and surprised her. Your dad says she’s back there most nights when everyone else is sleeping.”
“For how long?” Dean asked curiously.
Charlie shrugged. “Since she got here, I guess. She had asked if she could use the pool, your father told her any time and she took advantage as soon as she had a swimsuit. At least that’s what he told me when I mentioned it.”
“Dads keeping an eye on her?” Sam asked, surprised. As far as he could tell, you had free reign of everything.
“Ketch is.” Charlie smiled. “It’s why he keeps pairing with her. I think she knows, pretty sure that’s why she broke our trackers nose. So she could finally get some peace.”
“She’s so badass.”
“I think Deans in love, Sammy.”
“Judging by the way you were watching her, so are you.” Sam teased.
“She’s mysterious and hot, Sam. I’d be a fool to not be interested.” Charlie started off, following the same path you had taken.
“Tomorrow night we get some answers.” Dean pointed out to his little brother. “One way or another. She’ll be one of us.”
“Still not thrilled about it.” Sam mumbled, turning back to the training grounds and noticed everyone had stopped when Ketch’s nose got broken and rather than continue sparring, everyone was taking a break. “Back to work!” he yelled out, and people jumped to obey.
“I can’t fucking wait.” Dean mumbled.

The ‘welcome to the pack’ ceremony had been quick. A blood oath was sworn, and then you had a few minutes to adjust to hearing everyone in your head as they all mind linked a welcome that thundered loud, giving you a mild headache. But now, half the pack was already shifted and getting ready to run. While you stood off to the side, chewing on your bottom lip as you considered what was about to happen.
“Hey, you coming?” You glanced up to see Dean making his way towards you as he pulled off his shirt.
“Yeah, I uh.. I-I like a little privacy. I’m going to go to the back yard, if that’s okay..”
Dean couldn’t help the way his eyes glanced to your shoulder, even though you were currently wearing layers and he couldn’t see anything. “Yeah, yeah that’s fine..” his eyes went back to meeting yours. You started away, but he reached out, hand gently falling to your shoulder for a moment, and you turned, glancing up at him over your shoulder. “We all have scars.”
“Yeah.” you answered in a whisper before turning and walking away.
Dean watched you until you went around a corner and out of sight, then he headed over to his brother who’d been watching, and pack members. Everyone but Dean and his brother were now in wolf form. “She’s coming.” Dean reassured. “A little shy about the scars.” Sam nodded, and both brothers finished shedding their clothes before shifting.
John, at the front of the pack, let out a loud howl. Everyone responded, and as the howls died down, John took off, his whole pack following behind.
They ran through the woods, leaping over roots, rocks and fallen trees. Legs pumping hard and fast as they made their way towards the cliff where they meet and howl once more with their new pack mate before breaking apart to hunt. It was tradition.
Dean kept glancing around as he ran, looking, hoping for a glimpse at the new wolf, excited to see what you looked like, but he was starting to get worried. They were almost at the cliff and he hadn’t seen or smelt you.
‘Smell that?’ Sam mind linked his brother.
It was faint at first, he knew that scent. It was getting stronger, coming on fast. A massive gust of air hit them from behind as something blocked out the glow of the moon, and when he looked up, he couldn’t believe his eyes.
A massive beast was flying past them, the wingspan something like he’d never seen before.
‘Dragon!’ came the panicked voices of pack members in his head, and he knew his brother and father were hearing them too. John howled again, doubling his efforts as he followed the dragon.
Dean was surprised when they found themselves on the cliff, a massive dragon waiting for them on the edge. It looked almost regal in how it sat, looking up at the moon above them. But once the pack stumbled out of the tree line, the dragon looked to the pack. Everyone stood frozen, watching, waiting to see what the dragon would do.
It lowered it’s head, neck craning towards him, and Dean found himself stepping forward, sniffing at it. The smell was so familiar. His nose touched on the dragons and Dean felt a jolt of electricity that made his eyes go wide.
Then he heard bones break as they shifted and the dragon changed before his eyes.
“I’m sorry.” you whispered, standing there before him, naked. “I’m not a wolf, I should have told you. I’m sorry.” You looked to John’s massive wolf, scared. “If this changes things, I understand.”
Dean was quick to shift back to his human form, taking hold of your chin and making you look up at him. He felt that electric charge again, this time running through his fingers. “The scars?”
“Hunters.” you whispered. “I’m the last of my kind. It’s why I came to your pack. I needed safety. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you. I can leave, I-”
“You’re staying.” Dean was firm in his statement. “I’m not letting a hunter near my mate. Not when I finally found her.”
“Guess a dragon is our future Luna.” John mumbled, and when Dean turned, he saw his father standing tall, a half smile on his face. “I guess a hunt with us will be a little difficult..” John mused. “But I have a feeling Dean will figure out a way to make it work.”
“I scout, you kill?” you looked up at Dean.
Dean smiled. “Deal.”
Without another word, Dean shifted, and you followed suit, your dragon form towering above him. Dean let out a howl, and you threw your head back and responded with a mighty roar that shook the very ground they stood on.
John smiled before shifting himself and letting out a howl to signal the beginning of the hunt. As wolves began to scatter, you spread your wings and took flight.

15x20 Coda, Crack and Fluff, Jimmy and Kansas are in Heaven
I have no good explanation for this. I was in the middle of writing a "serious" coda... then the stuff about Jimmy and Kansas came out and this happened instead
Dean opened his eyes to a bright, blue sky.
“What the fuck?” he muttered, realizing he was lying on the ground outside. Sitting up, he looked around, trying to get his bearings, then everything came flooding back to him. The vamp mimes, that fucking piece of rebar, piercing pain—he looked down at himself and frowned. These were not the clothes he’d been wearing on that hunt.
“Fuck,” he said aloud as it hit him. “I’m dead.”
Getting to his feet, he stared at the building he’d ended up beside. The Roadhouse? He thought his Heaven was setting off fireworks with Sammy. Then a familiar figure stepped out onto the porch and called, “Dean!”
“Bobby?” Dean asked as he approached the porch.
“What the hell are you doing here, boy?” Bobby asked, pulling him into a hug. “Thought you had several more years in you.”
“Yeah, well, bad luck.” He really was gonna have to come up with a better story for how he got here than death by glorified rusty nail.
Pulling away from Bobby, he looked at the lit windows of the Roadhouse. Was that "Dust in the Wind" playing from inside? “What memory is this?”
“It isn’t one.” Bobby clapped him on the shoulder. “Heaven’s completely different now. Jack changed everything. Everyone’s together, we can go wherever we want, do whatever we want.” He gestured to the Roadhouse door. “Turns out that means a lot of parties inside.”
“Shit, alright.” Dean smiled. “Way to go Jack.”
“Wasn’t just his idea, though. Castiel helped.”
Dean’s heart skipped a beat, or would’ve if it was still beating. He stared at Bobby, afraid he hadn’t heard him right. “Cas  helped?”
Bobby grinned. “A week ago, or something like that—time passes strange here—Jack showed up and introduced himself. Brought Cas with him.”
“Wait, wait, wait,” Dean interrupted. “A week ago? What the hell? Why didn’t Jack bring Cas down to Earth? Sammy and I, we were going crazy—” He cut himself off. He didn’t want to remember his last days on Earth. The way he and Sam had poured through books of lore, trying to find a spell, something, anything, to bring Cas back. The long, sleepless nights, the way his eyes burned as he scanned yellowed pages, the fear that they might never get Cas back, that he might never get to give Cas a reply… Even after defeating Chuck, returning to run-of-the-mill monster hunts, nothing had seemed normal. Nothing had seemed right.
“I don’t know,” Bobby said, frowning. “Cas said he had work to do here first. He’s inside—”
The words hadn’t left his mouth before Dean was wrenching open the door to the Roadhouse and rushing inside. Calls and greetings rose around him, but he couldn’t pay them any attention, too intent on scanning the room.
There, in the corner, sitting at a table near a stage where a band played. The angel he never thought he’d see again. “Cas!” Dean called and rushed forward.
A woman at the same table nudged Cas’ shoulder, and Cas turned from watching the band. His eyes met Dean’s, then widened, and a look of horror crossed over his face.
“Wait, wait!” he exclaimed, lifting his hands up in defense, and holy fuck—Dean skidded to a stop in front of the table, the words, I love you on his tongue. That was not Cas’ voice. And the man in front of him was not Cas.
He was Jimmy.
Dean stared at him, the joy and relief that had urged him forward giving way to shock and disappointment. If he’d paused for one second before running over, he would’ve realized in an instant that the man in front of him wasn’t Cas. There were several giveaways. For one, the polo shirt and khakis Jimmy was wearing. Two, his arm around the woman sitting in the chair next to him—his wife, Dean was assuming.
“What the fuck are you doing here?” Dean managed, realizing he’d been staring with his mouth open. He shut it and tried to not look as betrayed as he felt.
“I live down the road,” Jimmy said, looking affronted. “Well, not live, because I guess we’re all dead—”
“Where’s Cas?”
“He’s, um,” Jimmy rubbed the back of his neck and looked around the room. “He was here a moment ago, but I don’t know where he went.”
Dean blinked at him, then turned to scan the room. “Anyone seen Cas leave?” he called desperately. He got a mixture of noncommittal sounds and shrugs. Just his luck. The one time he was finally ready to tell Cas how he felt, and Cas was nowhere to be found.
Bobby reached his side. “I see you’ve met Jimmy. Again.”
“Yeah.” He stared at Jimmy, who shifted uncomfortably in his seat. “This is one hell of a situation.” Which was ironic, considering he was in Heaven right now.
“It’s not my fault!” Jimmy protested. “I wasn’t expecting Castiel to show up looking like me! Besides, I thought angels didn’t go to Heaven when they died.”
“Well, Cas is special,” Dean spluttered. “He gets to keep his vessel, I guess. And if anyone deserves to be in Heaven, it’s him.”
Tearing his eyes from the imposter, he turned to Bobby. “What the hell is going on?” he muttered. “Why is Jimmy in my Heaven?” It wasn’t that he hated the guy; it was just incredibly difficult to look at him—Jimmy having the same face as Cas and all.
“Like I said,” Bobby explained patiently, “it’s not  your  heaven. It’s everyone’s. Case in point, your dad has a house not five minutes from here.”
“Fuck.” Sam was gonna  love  that. “Wait.” He scanned the room again, slower now. There was Ellen, Jo, Mrs. Tran—fuck, he was gonna have a lot of explaining to do about Kevin. “Where’s mom?”
Bobby grimaced. “Her and John split up, pretty hairy situation. She’s doing well now, though, much better off without him. Do you know a stuck-up British guy by the name of Ketch?”
“You’re joking. Not him and mom… Together?” Bobby nodded and Dean swore under his breath. “This place isn’t what I was expecting at all.”
“If I might add,” Jimmy spoke up and Dean looked at him. “Castiel has been creating quite the disturbance since he got here. Heaven was… peaceful before him. Not so much now.”
“What’s he talking about?” Dean asked Bobby.
“Well, turns out Cas isn’t such a fan of John—”
“He nearly started a fight!” Jimmy interjected. “This is Heaven, for Heaven’s sake!”
Dean couldn’t help but grin, and Bobby returned the smile. “Come on,” he said, leading Dean away from Jimmy. “Cas will turn up soon enough. I’m sure Jack will too. There’s a lot of people here who are happy to see you.”
“Right, yeah,” Dean said, trying to hide the fact that, at the moment, the only person he wanted to see was Cas. He let Bobby lead him to the bar where Ellen smiled and waved at them. “Icarus-Borne on Wings of Steel” filled the air and he frowned. That sounded pretty good for a cover band.
He glanced at the stage and stopped in his tracks. “Is that… Kansas?”
Bobby nodded. “They all died when their tour bus crashed. I would say it’s a shame, but I’m enjoying the live music too much.”
Dean shook his head in disbelief. First Jimmy, now Kansas. Heaven was… interesting, to say the least. Overwhelming was another way to put it. If only Cas would show up, he could start to appreciate it all.
Cas? he prayed silently. I’m here, buddy. I wanna… I wanna see you. He waited for the sound of wings, but none came, and disappointment sunk in his chest.
He made his way through the Roadhouse, greeting old friends, making up a badass story for how he died—thirteen vamps, an epic car chase, and liberal use of his grenade launcher—but his smile felt forced. Where the hell was Cas? Maybe he was angry Dean had stayed silent during his love confession. In Dean’s defense, Cas had thrown a lot at him all at once. He’d been in a state of shock for days after. Even now he wasn’t completely sure he hadn’t dreamt the whole thing up.
“Jimmy,” he called, returning to the table. He caught the way Jimmy rolled his eyes before looking up at him.
“Yes?”
“Cas, he’s been alright, hasn’t he? I mean, did he, um, has he said anything about me?”
Jimmy’s eye twitched and his wife laughed. “What has he not said about you—that’s the real question,” she answered.
“He won’t shut up,” Jimmy added. He gestured to Kansas, to the bar. “All this, it’s been for you. Giving Kansas a gig here, the free, unlimited liquor. He acts like he’s designing Heaven for everyone, but it’s painfully clear it’s all for you. He even brought in the Impala, which he won’t let anyone near, by the way.”
Baby was here? Obviously. She was as good a car as cars got. Of course Cas understood that. “So, hes not mad at me?” he pressed.
Jimmy let out an exasperated sigh and looked at his wife. “This is the nonsense I had to put up with, the whole time Castiel was possessing me.” He looked back at Dean. “No. Not that I know of. Did you two really not get together on Earth? After all this time?”
“We’ve been busy,” Dean protested. “Saving the world, defeating God—we haven’t exactly had time for heart to heart talks.” That wasn’t strictly true, but the truth wasn’t something he was proud of. All these years and he’d never worked up the courage to tell Cas how he truly felt. But now he had a second chance, if only Cas would show.
“Well, hopefully you two can talk it out soon because if I have to see Castiel stare at you longingly across the room one more time, even if it’s not through my own eyes anymore, I’m gonna request a transfer to hell.” With that, he turned back to his wife, and Dean stammered for a snarky retort. Unable to come up with one that preserved the last shreds of his dignity, he slunk away.
Joining Jo and Charlie at the bar, he listened as Charlie told him about the recent larping tournament she had organized. He paid attention, nodding and laughing at the right moments, but his eyes kept searching the room for any glimpse of a trenchcoat.
The door to the Roadhouse opened and Dean turned expectantly, his heart racing. Rufus raised a hand in greeting as he stepped inside and Dean sighed.
Please, Cas, he prayed. I have so much to tell you.
His eyes returned to Jimmy again. Same hair, same face, same eyes as Cas. But so different. So human. Cas, though… Cas was gorgeous—the way he stared at Dean so intently, the way he carried himself, the way his eyes glowed with angelic strength, such blue eyes, and his hands, holy fuck...
“For Pete’s sake!” Jimmy exclaimed and Dean startled, realizing he’d been staring for who knew how long. Jimmy jabbed his finger at a door on the back wall. “He’s hiding in there.”
“W-What…?”
Jimmy looked heavenwards—well, at the ceiling—for a long moment before meeting Dean’s eyes. “Castiel panicked when he heard you were here, something about not expecting you so soon—”
Dean stopped listening, already shoving his stool aside and rushing to the door. The doorknob didn’t budge so he knocked. “Cas? Cas, are you in there?”
A long pause, then a muffled, “Yes.”
Dean leaned closer to the door to hear better. “Cas, what the hell, man? What are you doing in there?” He waited for a response, but none came. “Cas?” he pressed, afraid the angel had flown the coop.
The door opened slowly, and Dean took a step back. Cas stood with one hand on the doorknob, an embarrassed look on his face. “Hello, Dean.”
The sound of those familiar words, in that familiar voice, made Dean weak at the knees. He forced his voice to be steady as he said, “Hi, Cas.”
Cas studied him. “You died so soon.”
Dean huffed a laugh. “Yeah, sick joke, right?”
“How did it happen?” Cas started to ask, but Dean waved his hand.
“Not important. The better question is, why have you been avoiding me?” His voice faltered at a sudden fear that he wouldn’t like the answer. Maybe Cas had had too much time to think since the night he died, maybe he was regretting everything he’d said, maybe Dean’s silence had spoiled the moment—
Cas ducked his head, studying his shoes. “I wasn’t sure… I never expected to see you again. I thought my death was final. Then Jack awakened me and brought me from the Empty, and...”
“And?”
“And I wasn’t sure how you would react to my reappearance.” Cas raised his head to meet Dean’s eyes. “I said a lot of things before I died, and I don’t know how things stand between us now.”
“Then let me speak.” He glanced over his shoulder to see everyone watching them. In all the times he’d pictured this moment, he’d never imagined having an audience, let alone background music courtesy of Kansas. But he’d be damned if he went one moment longer without telling Cas the truth.
Focusing on those blue eyes again, he took a deep breath and said, “You were wrong.” Cas frowned a little and Dean continued, “You  can  have me. I love you, Cas—have for years now. I just never… I never knew how to say it.” Cas watched him, face serious, eyes intent. So undeniably Castiel. “I love you. So goddamn much. Please say it’s not too late. Please tell me you’re not having second thoughts.”
A smile slowly spread over Cas’s face. “It’s not too late, Dean. I’ll always love you.”
Relief rushed over Dean. Before he could think twice about it, he stepped forward, grabbed Cas’ tie, and pulled him in to kiss him. He felt Cas’ hand rise to his cheek, then Cas was kissing him back and people were cheering, but Dean ignored them all, wrapping his free arm around Cas to pull him closer.
“I thought you didn’t love me back,” Cas whispered, pushing his forehead against Dean’s when they broke apart after seconds, or maybe years. Time in Heaven was different, after all.
“I can’t believe you hid in a closet to avoid me.”
Cas laughed a little. “Not my finest moment.”
“I almost confessed my love to Jimmy; I thought he was you.”
“Oh, yes. I suspect his being here is going to cause some confusion.” Cas pulled away to frown at Jimmy over Dean’s shoulder. “And he was not supposed to tell you where I was.”
Dean laughed. “I’m just so glad you’re here.” He kissed Cas again, deeply, slipping his hands under the worn fabric of the trenchcoat. Cas’ fingers slid along his neck and in his hair. Finally, after so long...
Though his mind was spinning, he caught Jimmy’s voice rise above Kansas playing “The Wall,” “First I had to hear all of Castiel’s thoughts about Dean while he possessed me, now I have to share a Heaven with them—”
“Get a room!” Jo called. Dean waved her off as Cas pulled him into the supply room. He’d make a comment later on the irony of hiding in a closet. Right now, he nearly tripped over his feet in his haste to keep kissing Cas while fumbling to pull the door shut behind them. Time to start enjoying the afterlife.

MLWTBB: Master and Commander
Tumblr media
Part 11 of the “My Life With The Bad Batch” series, a (mostly) canon compliant self-insert story set in “The Bad Batch”
rated: T warnings: descriptions of food and eating, implied self-harm, gun violence relationships: Hunter/self-insert, Omega & self-insert (adopted siblings), The Bad Batch & self-insert chapter word count: 3700+ words
✨MLWTBB masterlist✨
summary: when Hannah’s already hectic life becomes almost too much to bear, Master Gildish gifts her a new companion to help ease the burdens, as well as give Hannah a new friend to live with. however, the Bad Batch are not so thrilled with Hannah’s new robotic ally, which causes major tension in Hannah’s relationship with Echo and Hunter.
notes: welcome back to another episode of Drama Time everyone 😋 I thought about splitting this one in two, but I think it flows better all together; plus I really wanted to keep the tensions high for as long as possible. I won’t lie about shedding some tears while writing this one, but that’s pretty common for me in general 😝
A/N: this story has not been proofread by anyone other than myself. so apologies for any uncaught errors 😬

Chapter 7: The Truth Hurts
______________________________________________________________
“Run it again,” Echo said sternly. His arms were tightly crossed against his chest, and his brows had practically merged with his eye sockets from how low they’d gotten. It was a look normally seen on Hunter, who was sitting next to him in an almost identical position.
“That won’t be necessary,” Tech replied with a sigh. “Running the scan for a third time won’t provide any different results than the previous two.” He put his datapad away and gave his goggles a quick adjustment. “You’re just going to have to accept the fact that this droid is exactly as Hannah described: free of any and all previous programming aside from pure personality.”
Echo let out a huff through his nose, and his frown somehow turned down more than it already was. He looked over to Hannah, who stood smugly next to Tech, and he gave her a harsh glare.
“I don’t know what else to say to convince you guys,” Hannah said with a shrug. “Even Bolo and Ketch can vouch for him at this point.” She gestured at them with her thumb, and both of them responded with enthusiastic nods.
It didn’t seem like Echo planned on easing up anytime soon, but Hunter managed to give a relenting sigh and shook his head. “Let ‘im go,” he said to Wrecker, not even looking at him.
Wrecker gave a nod in response and slowly let up the firm grip he had on the Battle Droid. The droid shivered a bit and shook out his arms once he was free. “Wow, you really are super strong, Mister Wrecker!” the droid said cheerfully. “I was worried you were gonna crush me there for a second!”
“Yeah, well I will if ya do anythin’ funny!” Wrecker replied, his face turned down into an intimidating scowl.
“Master Hannah says I’m unintentionally funny, so I can’t promise anything!”
Wrecker’s scowl turned into confusion, while Hannah could barely hold back her giggles.
In an effort to continue reassuring the others, Tech told them that even if the droid didn’t have his memory wiped, there was a very low chance he’d be any sort of a threat due to there not being any Droid Command ships in existence anymore. As far as Tech was concerned, the only commands the droid would follow now would be Hannah’s.
“I highly doubt Master Gildish would have even considered giving Hannah the droid if that weren’t true,” Tech continued. “He’s not a fool.”
Despite hearing that, Hunter and Echo’s expressions didn’t change, and they continued to look at the droid with pure hostility. Wrecker, however, seemed to be more curious at least. “You really helped Hannah clean this place up?” he asked the droid.
“I sure did!” the Battle Droid replied. “And I made drinks for those two over there.” He gestured to Bolo and Ketch, who raised their cups in acknowledgement. “I also made Master Hannah’s caf for her this morning and tidied up her bed before we came here. Oh, and I chased off a roach that was scaring her. She really hates bugs.”
Hannah nodded in agreement.
After studying the droid for another moment, Wrecker’s expression began to soften, and he gave the droid an approving nod. “Well, sounds like you’re takin’ care of her real good then. I’m still gonna be watchin’ you though!”
“That’s fine! I don’t mind!” The droid adjusted his hat and stepped behind Wrecker to start wiping down one of the game tables, blissfully ignorant of any other glares he was getting.
Now that things had finally calmed down for the most part, Hannah felt more at ease letting the droid out of her sight. Up until then, she was constantly worried one of the boys would try and take the droid down at any moment. The tension in the room hadn’t been that high since the Pyke Syndicate showed up for Roland. But unlike then, Hannah had much more control over the situation and made sure nothing was going to happen if she had anything to do with it.
There were still a couple of problems that needed to be dealt with though.
“Well, that’s three down,” Hannah said as she approached the two still sitting at the bar. “Now it’s just you two that need to give him a chance.”
“Yeah, not happening,” Echo sternly replied. His brows were still turned down into an intense scowl, and it seemed like he might never uncross his arms ever again.
“Well, staying stubborn about it isn’t gonna do any good,” Hannah said with a huff. “You both just have to accept the fact that he isn’t a threat anymore, simple as that.”
“It’s not that simple,” Hunter stated, his own brows still furrowed into a deep scowl.
“I know, I know,” Hannah taunted while rolling her eyes. “You guys are still stuck on the whole grudge thing, I get it.”
Echo finally unfurled his arms as he stood up in front of Hannah. “No, I really don’t think you do! This isn’t just a grudge, Hannah. This is about having one of our mortal enemies just walkin’ around like it’s nothing!”
“Mortal enemies?” Hannah could barely hold back a laugh. “Wooooow. You really know how to hold a grudge, don’t ya?”
Hunter now stood up as well, taking position next to Echo. “Don’t treat this like a joke, Hannah. It’s serious.”
“Oh, you think I’m not being serious?” Hannah retorted, firmly planting her hands on her hips. “Cause guess what, I’m very serious about defending my boy from all of you.”
“Your boy??” Neither Echo nor Hunter could believe what they were hearing and looked at Hannah in disbelief and disgust.
Then Hannah suddenly felt a tap on her shoulder and turned to see the droid standing behind her expectantly. “All the tables are clean, master,” he said proudly. “Is there anything else I can do?”
“You could take a long walk,” Hunter commented under his breath, earning a harsh glance from Hannah.
Thinking about it, Hannah didn’t know of anything else that needed to be done in the parlor at the moment. The only thing she could think of was checking the refresher, especially since she might’ve made a little mess in there earlier from cleaning herself.
“Yeah, have Commander Clanker deal with the sewage,” Echo commented, not bothering to hide it like Hunter did. “It fits him better. Dumb droid...”
The hard glare Hannah gave him could’ve pierced through the walls. The droid, however, was ignorant to the insult and looked at Echo curiously. “Commander Clanker? Is that my name?”
“Absolutely not,” Hannah retorted. “’Clanker’ is a derogatory term, not a name.”
“Derogatory’s a bit extreme,” Hunter said, quirking an eyebrow.
Tech suddenly appeared near the group, startling Hannah enough to make her squeal. “Technically speaking, the term ‘clanker’ is a moniker we use for all droids, usually in a hostile manner. Therefore, yes, it would be classified as a derogatory term.”
The smug look on Hannah’s face made both Echo and Hunter groan and roll their eyes.
Then Omega appeared near the group as well, thankfully not spooking Hannah as much. “How about just ‘Clank’, then? That’s not derogatory, is it?”
Hannah let out a sigh, then turned to the droid. “It’s up to him what he wants to be called. I’m not gonna pick a name for him unless he wants me to.”
The droid had been pondering ever since Omega spoke and let out a thoughtful hum. “Clank sounds nice!” he said cheerfully.
“Alright then,” Hannah responded with a giggle. “Clank it is!”
“Commander Clank!” The droid proudly proclaimed, planting his hands on his robotic hips confidently.
“Oh great,” Echo lamented, rolling his eyes.
The newly named Clank hummed thoughtfully again, then looked at Hunter. “Hey, if I’m a commander, then doesn’t that mean I actually outrank you, sergeant?”
The immediate silence from Hunter was downright petrifying. His brows practically fell into his eyes, and his face began to grow red with anger. “No,” he growled, staring down Clank with daggers in his eyes.
“Ahh, you’re probably right,” Clank responded, ignoring Hunter’s hostility. “It doesn’t matter anyway since Master Hannah is the highest authority here.”
Hannah tightly pursed her lips to keep from bursting out laughing, while Hunter’s face continued to grow redder.
Tech leaned down to Omega and said, “I think I’m beginning to see why she values the droid so much.”
Omega could only nod in agreement.
Eventually, Clank decided to go check the refresher since he wasn’t doing much good just standing there anymore. And once he was gone, Hannah used that opportunity to confront Echo and Hunter about their bad attitudes. She didn’t appreciate how hostile they were being, nor did she think it was justified in any way. Clank hadn’t personally done anything bad to them, so it was unfair to lump him in with every other Battle Droid they’d encountered before. And he was genuinely trying to be helpful, which so far had been exactly what he was.
“And what if he isn’t?” Hunter asked, maintaining his stern composure. “What if something happens to trigger his old programming again?”
“Did you not hear Tech earlier?” Hannah responded. “That’s practically impossible. And besides, I happen to know a few guys who are really good at programming and could probably prevent that from ever happening.” She shot a glance over at Tech, who acknowledged her with a nod. “You’re worried for nothing, Hunter.”
“Well, do ya blame him?” Echo interjected. “Or are you still refusing to see it from our perspective?”
“I do see it from your perspective,” Hannah answered. “I’m clearly well aware of your history with those droids. But unlike you guys, I’m willing to give him a chance at a new life. It still feels like you’re just holding onto a grudge instead of moving on.”
Something inside Echo suddenly snapped. “It’s more than just a damn grudge!” Echo shouted so harshly, it startled Hannah a bit. “You don’t get it! Of course you can forgive him! You didn’t have to endure years of being shot at by them nearly every day! You didn’t have to worry about whether or not your shots were gonna be better than theirs! You didn’t have to watch your own squad, your brothers, get gunned down by them right in front of you!”
The look on Echo’s face as he ranted was devastating. There was anger in his voice, but it was bolstered by desperation. His eyes alone spoke more of the horrors he’d seen than his words did. Even his posture, which on the surface seemed proud, held a weight to it that Hannah could literally feel. Echo wasn’t just angry. He was hurt.
“You can try to defend him all you want,” Echo continued, an obvious hitch in his voice. “But nothing will change the fact that that droid was a killer. A killer who killed my brothers. And probably other innocent people too.”
There was nothing Hannah could say in retaliation to that. She already knew all of it, of course. But hearing it from Echo and enduring the pure pain he emitted nearly made her crumble to the floor. Her lip trembled from how upset she was, and she stared back at Echo silently, wishing there was a way to end the pain, for both of them.
“I... I did that?”
A voice from the hallway suddenly drew everyone’s attention. Standing in the doorway was Clank, cloth in hand, and looking at everyone curiously. But it wasn’t his usual curiousness. The tone of his voice alone gave away how despondent he was.
Nobody knew how to respond. It was like a dense fog had filled the room, silencing anyone who tried to speak. Hannah was absolutely grief-stricken and could only look at him as such.
Then the droid stepped a bit further into the room, towards Hannah. “Did... did I really kill innocent people, master?” His voice still held the same despondent yet curious tone, and he clutched the cloth in both hands against his chest innocently.
Hannah’s lip began to tremble more. She opened her mouth, but no words came out. The room remained silent.
Eventually, the one to finally speak up was Tech, who approached Clank with slight hesitancy. “We don’t know for certain the extent of your personal life before all this. It’s simply an assumption based on other droids of your model. Which we’ve had multiple encounters with on the battlefield.”
Clank took a moment to absorb Tech’s words before responding. “So... we weren’t allies then... we were...”
“Enemies,” Echo interjected, his tone still harsh as ever.
Like Echo, the droid’s posture spoke more than words could. His tall, lean frame slowly began to droop from the weight of what he’d heard. A soft, dejected sigh could be heard from him, and his head turned away solemnly.
“Clank...” Hannah approached him with glassy eyes and tenderly placed a hand on his shoulder. “I... I’m sorry... I didn’t wanna tell you...”
“It’s fine,” Clank replied, his tone matching the solemness of his posture. “I’ll just... be over here... if you need me...” Still slumped over, Clank dragged himself over to a corner of the room, sighing heavily once he got there, and drearily faced the wall, away from everyone.
Now more heart-broken than ever, Hannah slowly slouched onto one of the stools and clutched her hands to her face to hide her tears. It didn’t seem like things could get any worse.
She was wrong.
“Poor guy,” Omega lamented as she looked at Clank in the corner. “I feel bad for him.”
Without remorse, Echo promptly replied, “I don’t.”
That was the final straw for Hannah. Her chest began to heave out of pure anger, and her hands tightened into fists against her face. As bad as she felt for Echo before, it paled in comparison to her overall distress from the situation, especially now seeing Clank so upset. Plus, it was hard to feel bad for him while Echo was still being so hostile.
Hannah let out a harsh huff through her teeth and whipped her head in Echo’s direction. “Echo, I swear, if you don’t quit it, I’m gonna actually lose it.”
“Quit what?” Echo retorted. “Speaking my mind? Am I not allowed to do that anymore?”
“Not like that!” Hannah quickly got back on her feet to face Echo, her hands still balled into fists from anger. “You’re being a complete jerk!”
“Well, excuse me for not being sensitive about a kriffing droid!” Echo’s hand also balled into a fist from how angry he was, and he stared back at Hannah with the same hostility she had towards him now.
Hannah approached Echo in a way that almost made him think she was going to plow him down like a tank. Her voice was both desperate and enraged. “He’s not just a droid. He’s my droid. And if you can’t accept that, then there’s the door!!” She thrust a hand out towards the entry door before huffing in Echo’s face, then stomped away from him angrily. Echo remained where he was, but turned away from everyone with his arms crossed, clearly seething.
Once again, the tension in the room had risen to almost unbearable levels. Omega pleadingly looked between Tech and Wrecker, but neither of them knew what to say; plus, they knew better than to get involved. Hunter had different feelings on the matter though, and after a moment, he approached Hannah from behind.
“This isn’t going very well,” Hunter plainly said.
“Gee, thanks for the insight,” Hannah sarcastically replied with a scoff.
Hunter sighed before continuing. “You heard all that stuff Echo said. I dunno what ya expected.”
Hannah turned her face back just enough to catch Hunter in her peripheral sight. It was clear from her tone that she was on the verge of another outburst at any moment. “I expected you guys to at least try to act civil. But no, you went straight for the hostile route and never stopped.”
Against his better nature, Hunter decided to tread into dangerous waters with her. “You haven’t exactly been pleasant either, ya know.”
Hannah gave a look of disbelief and turned her face more towards Hunter. “Only because you two are being such jerks to Clank!”
“Hannah, he’s just a droid.”
If steam could’ve come out of Hannah’s ears, it would have. She angrily whipped around to face Hunter, her face quickly growing red. “He’s not just a droid! I’ll keep saying it until you guys get it into your stubborn heads! He is my droid. My. Droid. You don’t have to like it, but you do have to accept it. Period.”
Ever the level-headed one, Hunter maintained his calmer composure, but it was clear Hannah’s attitude was starting to aggravate him. “Does what Echo said not mean anything to you? I may not be as passionate about it as he is, but he’s not the only one who’s had to deal with those droids for the last few years.”
“I am well aware of that. And yet, Tech and Wrecker don’t seem to have as much of a problem as you and Echo do, for some reason. They’re at least trying, which is more than you two can say.” Hannah’s tone was downright condescending, and Hunter’s scowl deepened as a result.
“I’m just trying to keep everyone safe here,” Hunter responded, calmly but sternly. “And I can’t trust a droid who used to kill Clones for a living, even if his memories are gone. Especially around Omega.” He gestured to his little sister for emphasis.
Hannah stepped closer to Hunter, staring into his eyes with a harshness that would’ve instantly crumbled most others. “Do you really think I would be flippant about something like that? I’m just as committed to protecting this family as you are, Hunter. If anything, Clank can be extra protection now.”
Hunter’s eyes turned down into a harshness rivaling Hannah’s. “You are not givin’ that thing a blaster,” he said in a commanding tone.
“I will do whatever I want with my droid, thank you,” Hannah replied defiantly.
It was clear Hunter was slowly starting to lose his cool, and his chest began to heave in frustration.
“Do you remember what you said to me yesterday?” Hannah stepped even closer, only a hand’s length from Hunter now. “You wanted me to get someone to help me, yes? Well, there he is.” She gestured to the still moping Clank in the corner. “That droid is the exact answer you wanted for me. Probably even more than that. But you’re so stuck on your beliefs and worries that you can’t even see that.” She let out a scoff that almost sounded more like a chuckle. “Honestly? It almost feels like you’re jealous.”
“Jealous?” Hunter retorted, letting out a scoff of his own.
“You’re worried I’m gonna replace you with him, admit it.”
“What, that’s... you’re not attracted to him, are you?”
“No!! That’s not what I mean!”
“Well then don’t say things like that, good grief!”
Hannah stared at him silently in disbelief for a moment. “Why would you possibly even think that’s what I meant??”
“I don’t--” Hunter let out a long sigh through his nose and pinched the bridge of it. “Never mind, forget it. This whole thing is ridiculous...”
“Yeah, no kidding!” Hannah scoffed again and crossed her arms. “I feel like I’m back in the Prism Palace, fighting for my own freedom again!”
Hunter gave her a baffled look. “Seriously? Ok, now you’re overreacting.”
“Oh, I’m overreacting? Says the guy afraid of one little droid.”
“For good reason!”
“Really? Do you need to go back to Kamino and learn how to shoot again, sergeant?”
That finally got Hunter to break, and he shouted uncharacteristically. “Would ya quit with the attitude already? You’re just being ridiculous!”
“And you’re being a stubborn asshole!!”
And with that, Hannah gave one last angry huff before storming off into the hallway, towards the refresher. It almost sounded like she punched the button for the door before everything fell silent once again.
“Well, that really helped,” Echo sarcastically commented.
Hunter’s face twitched from how frustrated he was, and he turned back to Echo with a scowl rivaling the one he’d been giving Clank all day. “And I’m not the only stubborn asshole in the room right now.”
Like Hunter, Echo’s hostile scowl returned, and a growl erupted from his throat before he began angrily advancing on Hunter, hand balled into a fist.
That finally got the others to step in. Omega grabbed Hunter by the arm and pulled him back, while Wrecker straight up grappled Echo to keep him from attacking Hunter. And Tech planted himself in-between everyone as a human barrier, arms held out protectively.
None of them realized they were being watched.
“Huh...” Clank stood in the corner of the room, now facing out instead of towards the wall. He’d heard the whole conversation between Hannah and Hunter, and now seeing the scuffle breaking out between the Clones, he began to question his entire existence there. It was normal for families to fight, Omega had told him. But this was too much. Hannah seemed to want him there, sure. But he didn’t want to be a burden. He didn’t want to divide Hannah’s family. She’d been so kind to him, it only felt right to return that kindness. Even if that meant removing himself from her life entirely.
And so, in the midst of the commotion, Clank quietly headed for the door, intent on leaving. He took a brief look back at the Clones, who were too caught up in their fight to notice him. He remembered the holo-image in Hannah’s apartment and how happy they all looked together. Maybe they could be happy again once he was gone.
“Anything for my master,” he thought to himself, and then finally took his leave.
Droids couldn’t cry. It was debatable whether or not they could even be sad. But much like the metaphorical fog that had clouded the parlor earlier, a dreary gray cloud hung over Clank’s head as he left, raining invisible wet drops down his long, robotic face.

Bucklemming are the ones who wrote Cas using emojis!
Yeah, they nailed it with that one.
Unpopular opinion ahead warning!
I can’t believe I’m actually saying this, but I genuinely think Bucklemming have been writing Cas really well since s13. I mean don’t get me wrong, their episodes are disjointed as fuck, the pacing’s usually really jarring and the excessive exposition drives me up the wall. They don’t seem to know the meaning of show don’t tell - see the weird ass scene where Sam and Dean, reveal their big plan to Chuck in 15x19 - but I do think they’ve given us some good Cas content.
For instance:
13x07 - Cas getting to be bitchy and condescending to Lucifer and just generally getting to make fun of him and act superior. Dean being really worried about him and able to tell that something’s wrong because Cas is being overly affectionate over the phone. This is also the episode where Ketch pretends to be his own evil twin and Dean punches him in the face, which yes, is really stupid, but it’s so ridiculous it swings right back around to being hilarious and I’m obsessed with it.
13x13 - Kind of a forgettable episode and I hate all the Lucifer stuff but Cas is just so done with everyone and he gets to do the flippy angel blade thing and knock Ketch out which is pretty much the content I’m here for.
13x18 - Nothing major for Cas here, but he’s once again pissy about Ketch and completely done with everybody, which, I’m easy, that’s pretty much all I need.
13x22 - Honestly there was some amazing Cas stuff in this episode. He got to meet an AU version of himself that was so completely broken from years of torture because he’d never met Dean and had never been able to fully rebel. I mean this exchange in particular:
AU Cas: Don’t think that you are better than me. Well, we are the same.
Our Cas: Yes. We are. (Stabs him.)
Cas isn’t surprised in the least about what he became in a world without Dean, and it’s really satisfying to see Cas have his choices validated and to see him be good with where he’s at in his life. I mean they even have the whole juxtaposition of AU Cas torturing Charlie on heaven's orders and our Cas torturing someone on Dean's. It's still Cas, it's just his allegiance and what he's fighting for is different.
Unfortunately this all becomes much less poignant because Misha decided to do that weird ass German accent for AU Cas, (love you dude, but no) but the writing for him in that episode is pretty good. Plus he gets to say he vastly prefers humans to angels, which is always nice to hear.
14x02 - This episode is full of excellent Cas content. He parents Jack, gives him a monologue about how he found self worth when he was a human, talks to him about Kelly and just generally coaches him on being human.
He also gets to talk about vessels and his feelings about the whole Jimmy thing. Plus he dunks on angels again, is the smartest person in the room and is very clear that his priority is always Dean.
14x07 - My favourite thing is Cas getting to act superior and condescending towards people he can't stand and it’s there in spades in this episode because this is where Cas meets Sergei. He hates him so much and its hilarious. There’s also a long shot of Cas failing to look dignified when sitting on a pouffe. Oh and he dunks on Ketch again when he finds out Sergei and Ketch are buds.
14x12 - Cas is annoyed as fuck with Dean about his whole “lock myself in a box and throw it to the bottom of the ocean” plan so he dresses up as a doctor and has a ridiculously intense conversation with Dean that seems like it could lead pretty much anywhere before they get interrupting moose’d.
14x19 - There’s some good Cas/other angels stuff in here, just further cementing that heaven is very clearly not his home anymore. Also the Cas and Jack stuff is good too.
15x02 - Holy shit, I love this one. That whole conversation that Cas and Dean have about how Chuck has been manipulating them but Cas refuses to accept their decisions haven’t been their own because he knows what free will is and he’s fought and given up everything for it, is one of my favourite scenes in the entire show. That whole scene is just such good characterisation, for Dean yes, but especially for Cas, because he has such a complicated relationship with destiny and grand plans, and he, more than anyone, knows what it truly means to free because of how hard he’s had to fight for it. And you know:
“Dean you asked what about all this is real. We are.”
That’s a banger of a line, if I’ve heard one.
15x08 - Dean and Cas go to hell and get couple’s therapy from Rowena, actually their whole dynamic in this ep is very well done, what with the whole “I can’t look at you but I can’t be away from you either” thing they’ve got going on. There’s also some really good Cas and Michael stuff and he actually says “You had an entire oak tree shoved up your ass” so yeah.
15x13 - Cas going to the Empty, he’s once again just done with everyone, especially Dean and I love it. Plus there’s the Dean and Cas marriage symbolism in that church, I mean they have to do some really contrived storytelling just to have Dean and Cas stand at that altar together.
15x19 - Yeah this episode is clunky af, but Cas’ importance is repeatedly emphasised. There’s that cut scene where Jack prays to him, Michael expressing condolences to Dean about Cas’ death (also cut I know but they still wrote it), Dean yelling at Chuck to bring Cas back, the whole Lucifer pretending to be Cas thing(he impersonates people’s dead lovers when he’s asking them to let him in) and finally the big moment at the end where Dean internalises Cas’ big speech in 15x18, and decides to see himself as Cas did and be the man Cas loved and died for. 15x19 is too much of a mess for me to call it a good ep, but that scene was really satisfying.
So yeah, there’s plenty of stupid in BL episodes and I found all the Lucifer and Nick stuff really tedious but at a certain point they did get kind of good at writing Cas, his characterisation is pretty consistent throughout their episodes in the Dabb era which I don’t really think was the case back in the Carver seasons. Guess they at least learned something.
(10x21 is still some of the worst writing in the entire show though.)
