Daily Reading - Monday August 21st 2023 - Seven of Pentacles
You may be feeling a little frustrated today. Perhaps you feel like you’re putting a lot of work into something, and not seeing the results yet. Or your dreams are feeling more far off than usual. This is your reminder to keep at er. Set smaller, more immediate goals if it helps keep you motivated. Your hard work WILL pay off eventually.
I miss you every day. But it always stings more on August 21st.
12 years ago I lost my best friend and namesake. At the time, I was already struggling with the trauma I experienced at the hands of my first college. I had just gotten back home to you at Christmas, where I knew I would be safe and loved, but you were already on your way out. Worst year of my life.
It took everything to stick around here when you left and not just give up then and there.
I pushed through then and am still doing it now for you.
My only tattoo is a permanent reminder of you and why I keep going.
There are a few things that will suck the joy out of your career like knowing you're not being taken seriously. Whether people are interrupting you in presentations, second guessing your decisions, or just being disrespectful and rude, hey can create a toxic work environment. In addition to doing the mundane things to earn respect - because it is earned - you can also give yourself a bit of magical pick me up to inspire others to treat you the way you would like them too. Use a paradox stone, which is the birthstone for August mounted in a ring, necklace, or earrings. Do this spell right before you go to work.
Light the candle and hold the peridot jewelry in your dominant hand. Say “Working together as part of a team, my coworkers hold me in high esteem. I've earned respect and honor to, this stone with power I imbue.”
Extinguish the candle and put the jewelry on. Go to work, treat people with dignity, and watch for them to respond in kind.
