Fandom(s): Millionaire Detective: Balance Unlimited
Pairing(s): Kambe Daisuke x Gender Neutral!Reader
Genre(s): Fluff, pining(?), love at first sight trope
I’d be happy to write for Balance Unlimited! I’m still getting a hand on Daisuke’s character, so this might be OOC, but I’ll try my best!
Also, you are slightly shorter than Daisuke in this. He does wear shoe inserts that make him roughly 5’7”.
__________________________________________________________________________
You saw him at a convention. No, not like ComicCon, but a gala, or rather a business function. He rolled up in a Chevy Corvette and stepped out, handing the keys off to the valet and buttoning the front of his pitch-black tuxedo suitcoat.
He was handsome, with slicked-back dark hair and mysterious eyes hidden behind sunglasses. And… did he have a pierced ear? Even more attractive.
He had a woman next to him who had stepped out of the passenger side of the sports car. She was dressed in a sleek black dress and long black hair styled in an intricate updo. They looked alike, close enough to be related. You adjusted the hem of your own blazer and turned to grab a glass of champagne.
There was no point in fantasizing over the unattainable.
He was way out of your league anyway.
You join in on the dancing, spinning away with dance partners as the hours pass, and you search for an opening. However, a wrench in your plans is apparent when you are twirled into the arms of the handsome young man you had spotted earlier.
He’s even more handsome up close, and you can smell his expensive cologne. His sunglasses are nowhere to be found, probably folded away inside the inside pocket of his tux.
But that’s not what throws a wrench in your plans. Instead, it’s the moment you meet his eyes. They’re a steely blueish-gray and all the more alluring. Fireworks erupt in your belly, and you almost trip over your feet. However, you are quick to recover without him noticing.
You knew this feeling. It was the feeling of falling in love. You had felt it before, with your first love, who has long gone and left with your heart in pieces. It had taken years to heal yourself, and now you were scared of it breaking again. You couldn’t fall in love! You simply couldn’t!
But as you watch the man’s eyes widen almost inconspicuously, you realize he feels it too and quickly decide to break this off.
“Sorry, I’ve forgotten something.” You quickly excuse yourself and head toward a side door. But, before you shut the door behind you, you look behind and catch his gaze once again. The door hurriedly closes behind you, and you are locked in a dead sprint.
It doesn’t take long to find the host’s computer. But someone is already there. The woman who was with the man earlier (you really had to learn their names, this was getting exhausting). She was bent over a keyboard, tapping rapidly and lines of code appeared across the screen. The lights were off, save for the computer monitors (obviously), so you were bathed in blue light.
The door slams shut behind you, and you jump, the woman does as well, turning, and her gaze flashes with surprise as you meet her eyes. Then you whip around to see who had shut the door, and you spot the man.
He’s as good-looking as ever. That’s the infuriating part.
“Do you have what you need?” His voice is deep, alluring, and smooth as honey. Damn it. He just keeps getting more attractive. But never mind that you have things to focus on! The woman unplugs and tosses a flash drive stick to him that he catches without looking. His eyes are trained on you as he slips it into his inside tuxedo pocket.
“Just who are you?” You say, portraying an air of confidence. After all, you might as well put on a show, right? Throw them off your tracks, and don’t let them see how nervous you are, right?
“Kambe Daisuke. Who are you?” He says—more like demands—and you oblige. Equivalent exchange is polite, right? There’s no need to be rude. He says your name, and you shiver at the sound of it coming from his mouth. It sounded so sexy you couldn’t help but want to hear more.
“Well, it’s nice to meet you, Daisuke, but I must be going now, so if you’ll excuse me—” His hand catches your wrist and yanks you back as you try to leave. You stumble, looking up into his eyes as your noses brush.
Your lips brush the corner of his own, and you are slipping away before he even registers what’s happening. His eyes are wide and uncharacteristically shocked. The woman behind you chokes on her own saliva as she stands, shocked.
You’re gone before he realizes the flash drive is gone. You twirl it between your fingers, slip it into your inside pocket, and sprint down the hall. Finally, you make it to your car and peel out of the gala roundabout just as he bursts through the doors.
His eyes are locked on your disappearing vehicle the entire time.
Mission accomplished.

De-Stress For Me
Actor: Haru Kato
MPAA: General Audiences (GN!Reader)
Tumblr media
"Ughh.... such a long day..."
Haru sat down on his couch, sighing softly. He sniffed the air lightly and smiled at softly. He loved it when you cooked.
"How was your day, darling?"
You walked out of the kitchen and went over to kiss his cheek. He smiled and his cheeks reddened slightly.
"Hah...!" He giggled. "Oh, I'm doing- ah-!"
His shoulder popped, and he reached up to grab it, sighing softly. "I've been better."
You chuckled lightly and walked around him to rub his shoulders. "I can see— or rather hear —that."
He sighed softly and leaned into your touch.
"Oh, God, thank you... fuck, Daisuke is so annoying sometimes... he's gotten slightly more bearable, but- ah- still acts so fucking high and mighty... the bastard..."
You chuckled again, and rubbed the back of his neck. "I wonder... maybe I should replace him. I'm sure you would have a much better time~"
"Heh, don't do that... I don't... want you to deal... with everyone..." He yawned. "in that office..." His head slumped down.
You looked at him and saw he was dozing off. You kissed his cheek and walked back to the kitchen.
After a few minutes, you set the table for the both of you and went to gently shake Haru awake. He yawned and stretched out, looking up at you.
"Come on, dinner's ready."
He smiled softly and stood up, shuffling over to the table. He scarfed down your food, making you laugh.
"Wow..."
"Sorry, whenever you come over, I can't resist your cooking..."
You leaned over to pat his head, and he blushed again, looking away before swatting your hand away.
"I'm sorry, that's just really cute."
"It's really not..."
You two finished up eating, and you pulled him up to bring him into the bathroom.
"Come on, let's shower together."
His blush burned brighter as he saw you strip down, and began to strip himself, and you turned on the shower. You both let the warm water run down, and you started to wash his hair.
"H-Huh?"
"Just relax, my darling. You deserve to de-stress."
He let you wash and condition his hair, and kiss his cheek in between, before you both were sitting in the bath. You continued to rub his shoulders, and you guys left before he fell asleep again.
"Ah... this has been perfect..."
You turned on his favorite TV show, and you both watched it, until you felt him slump on your shoulder. You looked and heard him lightly snoring, smiling before pulling him up to lie him in bed. You lied next to him and kissed his cheek again.
"I love you, Haru."
"I love you too..."
Haru strolled into the office, a smile on his face, humming quietly. Kamei looked up and cocked his eyebrow.
"Huh? What's got you so cheery? You went home yesterday, pissed at Daisuke."
"Eh, I'm just feelin' good. Nothing can bring me down!" He smiled brightly. "Cause I have the best partner in the world."

He lives alone?! {Haru Kato}
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairings: Haru Kato x reader
A/n: I happened to rewatch Balance Unlimited and I found myself looking for Haru short drabbles and shit like that but there were not a lot so I took it upon myself to provide you with some new ones so this one is inspired by Kotaro lives alone. I know this sucks but it's 5:25 am rn and I should be asleep so yes but I am more than happy to write more balance unlimited based stuff so feel free to request
Warnings: well...it is kind sad tbh but not much
Tumblr media
Saturday, the first day of the weekend. Haru had been enthralled because last week in the Modern Crimes Department had been exhausting. So when the doorbell rang, waking both of you up, to say that he was angry would be an underestimation.
“Stay there, I'll get it.” He sighed and left the bed. He didn't even know what time it was but it didn't matter, when it's weekend every hour during the morning can be considered early for waking someone up.
“Hello, dear neighbour, I am Kotaro and I live in the apartment next door.”
Haru took his time observing the little kid in front of him, reaching his hands out to him while holding a tissue box, he couldn't be older than 5. Finally, a smile broke in Haru's face and he kneeled in front of the little kid before accepting the box.
“Thank you little man.” He peeked outside, looking left and right. “Are your parents here?”
“I occupy the apartment next door by myself. I must away.” The little boy said and ran away. (if you've seen the anime you know how Kotaro speaks so cut me some slack)
Puzzled, Haru closed the door behind him and returned to your bed, still holding the tissue box.
“You heard that too right?” He asked you, setting the box aside.
“A little boy renting the next door apartment alone? Is that even legal?”
“I am pretty sure it's not.” Haru said concerned.
“Come on, we'll deal with this later, let's go to bed.”
You were just as concerned as he was, Haru knew this. He also knew that you wanted to sleep it off purely because you would end up overthinking about it and so he agreed. He got comfortable with you almost on top of him and closed his eyes but he couldn't fall back asleep. The same went for you. So it is needless to say you both stayed like that not knowing that the other was awake.
“I'll look into it.” Haru mumbled to himself. You were both in the bathroom brushing your teeth.
“I'll help.” He nodded in response.
You both thought of calling Daisuke to help as well but the truth was that Haru was too tired to deal with him.
And so the investigation began.
After meeting up with the rest of the residents of the apartments in the flat you figured that the concern about Kotaro was mutual. Obviously you couldn't ask Kotaro anything because at the end of the day he was just a five year old kid so you all mutually agreed to take care of him.
But to Haru that wasn't enough. He wanted to know more about this child's past, what led him to live alone.
“Our neighbour said he is taking care of him, stop stressing so much.” You hugged him from behind. “Also the rice is ready.”
If you hadn't hugged him, Haru would have most probably forgotten about the fact that he was cooking at that time. His gaze followed your figure and he watched as you were putting the rice into two bowls.
“You're worried too.”
“I am but he is safe here with us. Everyone cares about him too. Our next door neighbour whose name I always forget...”
“Same.” Haru admitted.
“He accompanies Kotaro to and from kindergarten and the supermarket and practically everywhere. Plus the boy is always active and although he is shy, he asks for help when he needs it.” Both of you sat down and started eating with the TV on, working as a background music.
Whether Haru had found anything about the child's past, you didn't know but during the next few days he appeared to have calmed himself down. You didn't know if it was because of what you had said or because he had found something but no matter the case you were happy since him being calm meant that you could also finally relax.
About a week later, everything seemed to have become clearer. You and Haru would both go to work in the mornings and in the afternoons you would pick up Kotaro from kindergarten and occasionally dine with him. Everyone in the building was taking turns taking care of him.
“I can get used to this.” You heard Haru mumbling next to you. Your head was on his chest and his hands were lazily wrapped around you as you watched TV. “It's a bit...relaxing.”
“Yeah, I will agree.” You snuggled closer. You were more than sure Haru had found something but you didn't ask. Since everything was okay now and Kotaro was safe, you didn't want to know since at the end of the day all that mattered was the kid's safety and happiness.
“I do think however, that you would be a great mom.”
“And you would be a great dad but we're not having any children right now.”
“Couldn't agree more.”

In the most extravagant, romantic and public way possible.
Optimistic: How would they react to their darling giving them something on Valentine’s Day?
Besides repaying them 10-fold he would be happy getting something from his darling whether it be handmade or brought if it shows how much they care.
Victor or Runner-up: how would they react if their darling accepted or rejected their confession?
Accepting:
Doesn't see any other outcome because who would refuse such a lavish lifestyle even if it does come with a few rules.
Rejecting:
That…. Is a very bad idea give that money can do a lot and since he has unlimited amounts…there is a lot that can happen/will happen.
Event: how would they spend valentine's day with their darling?
Does anything his darling wants along with a few surprises along the way.

daisuke kambe !
warning: dom reader. gender neutral. gender isn't specific but daisuke is riding you. riding ofc. daisuke has sensitive nipples. not much went down here.
✿ disclaimer — I only write for characters 18+. if you don't like my content, please block me.
daisuke sighs as he finally gets to sink down on your cock. his legs tremble and his grip on your hand tightens once you're fully sheathed inside him. "f-fuck... yes..."
"you're so beautiful." daisuke hums in a breathy manner. one hand intertwined with his own, and the other placed on his hips guiding him up and down your hard cock.
daisuke fixes his position, hands now placed on your stomach and his knees right beside your waist.
his head falls forward, back arching when he picks himself up with shaky legs. the rim tightens around you once he reached the tip before dropping his hips down.
you groan at the pornographic sight, rubbing his thighs, kneading at the flesh. "there you go. just like that, sukie."
daisuke picks up the pace, slamming himself down on your length until smacking is heard throughout the room.
his heavy breathing quickly turns into a gurgling mess, lightly scratching his stomach to control himself, his perky nipple catching your eye everytime he lifts his shirt up.
his own cock hitting your stomach as he bounces on you, leaking all over you.
he slows down, catching his breath, walls clenching around you.
"can you still go on?" daisuke ignores you, his legs giving out once again as he tries to pick himself up and slamming back down on you.
daisuke shuts his eyes in embarrassment. he barely even started and he can't even finish it. "help me..."
"with what?" you teased him watching his open his mouth reluctantly - "...please move."
you smile at his flushed expression, his shoulders shaking pathetically, lust clouding your eyes. your hands slid under his thighs, picking him up slightly as you fixed your posture, your hips pushing up into his quivering body.
he's very much aware of the fact that you keep brushing past his prostate.
daisuke falls forward. he holds onto the headboard to hold himself up, whimpers spilling from his mouth.
"s...slow down, wait!" daisuke gasps in shock as your mouth wraps around his pink bud, biting down on his nipple. daisuke places a hand on your head, trying to push you away, squeaking loudly. "not there!"
"why not?" you question him, pulling away. your thrusts are slow, and teasing and he tries to muffle his whimpers behind tightly closed lips.
"b-because..." you wait for him, when he doesn't say anything else, you place your hand on his lower back, forcing him to ride you once again. daisuke cries out loud, shaking his head. "m'sensitive, sensitive!!"
this time you hit his prostate dead on. daisuke freezes, body going stiff as he leaks more pre-cum all over you. his fingers pulling on your hair, you don't mind the pain, hitting his prostate once again, this time burying him to the hilt.
daisuke shakes in your hold, he waits for you to move again, but you don't. you chuckle at his panicked expression.
"come on, baby, since you like to tell me what to do- you're doing the work."

♡ 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 ♡
(Sugardaddy! Daisuke Kambe x Sugarbaby! Bimbo! Reader)
Fanfic made with both me and @kaoshusband's ideas >w< (unfinished)
Sypnosis : Sugardaddy! Daisuke x Sugarbaby! Bimbo! Reader
It was a sunny afternoon in the summer, the sky was a beautiful baby blue and the clouds were barely in sight! You were siting anxiously near the window at the back of the lecture theatre in college. You looked out of the window, trying not to get blinded by the bright rays shining through into the classroom, as you try to search for something outside to distracted you from your current distress.
Which was that you and your classmates are currently getting back your results for your (subject) major.
You see, you were always the 'bimbo' as people would call it as you would always be clueless about alot of the common things in the world. Such as how to do chores, answer subject questions correctly and even how to pass your examinations! As all you cared about most of the time was your interests; getting your nails done or shopping to look good.
However, this time was different , it was the last examinations that you would take before summer break! Plus, your sugardaddy, Daisuke had promised that if you had passed your exams even by one mark you would get a variety of rewards! This had helped you to be motivated and try to study and cram as much knowledge as you could into that airheaded head of yours could handle.
Soon, you could hear the teacher's heavy footsteps of his moccasins along the hallway as your classmates soon started to settle down and get to their seats. "Today, as you all know, you are getting back your results." The teacher spoke in a deep voice as he soon explained that after you have received the paper, you wouls have the rest of the period to digest the results before the school day ends.
The first name to be called was yours. However, when the teacher was calling out your name you were busy daydreaming so when you had snapped out of it, you had to quickly scamble towards the front of the classroom to get your results. You could almost feel the gaze of your classmates pierce through you as you ditzily went back to your seat.
You shut you eyes anxiously as you started praying to whatever was out there that would have mercy on you and bless you with pass. After doing a prayer, you reluctantly flipped over your paper and saw you result.
50/100
You had almost jumped out of you seat and cheered as your prayers have finally paid off and all you effort! You rummaged into your small dior handbag as you tried to find you phone to text daddy daisuke about the fantastic news. Which he soon replied that it was splendid and he was coming to fetch you today and allow you to receive your reward for being such a good girl tommorrow!
Joy overfilled you as you struggled to sit still on your seat as you waites awaitingly for the bell to rang and dismiss you all!
Ding Dong Bing Bong!
The ear-shattering bell rang as you scrambled to pack your things as your empty head had forgotten to pack up due to your mind being filled with anticipation to see your daddy! Hurriedly, you walked out into the corridor and towards the exit where a strong wind blew and you had almost flashed someone, luckily you bag had acted as a weight to prevent that. This however had made yoy extremely embarrassed as you had almost revealed yourself in front of the whole school so you started to scan the round-about trying to find daisuke!

"Welcome home, dear", you said, not facing your husband as he walked into the kitchen as you were cooking on the stove, you didnt hear a word from your husband, you decide to turn off the stove to see what's wrong but as you turn around, Daisuke pinned you on the kitchen counter, "Dear? What's the matter?", you asked confusingly, with a rough voice he answered "Kato...", you got the hint that he had a rough fight with Haru, it wasn't uncommon for them to get into fights because of their different views and lives, but you weren't prepared for an angry Daisuke coming home today.
You touched his hand as he nuzzled into your neck, "Hun do you want to eat dinner to cool off?", you asked him as you were almost done with the food, he looked at you and proceeded to pick you up like a sack of potatoes and went upstairs to the bedroom, the bedroom both of you shared.
He threw you on the bed, pinned you down with one hand while pulling on his tie with the other, "Daisuke, what are you doing? I got to get cooking", "i'm having dinner", he said in a low voice before connecting his lips with yours, wasting no time sliding his tongue into you, you let it happen, melting into the kiss, not even noticing your husband unbuttoning your shirt and removing it completely, "You just got home though!", "i've had a shitty day and i want you to take care of me", he responds before grabbing some liquid from the drawer and shoving 2 fingers into you, moving his fingers to stretch your hole for his fat cock, he then adds another finger, stretching you even more, loving the face you make, after he was sure you were prepared enough, he flips you on top of him as he lays down on the bed, your hole inches away from his throbbing cock, ready to ravange your little hole. He holds your hand as he lowers you down on him till his tip has gotten into you, then he goes deeper with 3, 4, 6, 7, 8 inches all the way into you, his face once irritated was now smirking, a tint of blush could be seen across his cheeks.
"How do you feel about my cock all the way inside your tight hole?", "b-big..", was all you could answer, but even that was enough to get him all riled up, feeling as if his cock was now somehow bigger inside of you, "fuck, be a good boy and take it alright?", he says before grabbing your waist and thrusting himself inside of you, moving up till the tip before slamming you back down all the way to the base, your face contorted into a mixture of pain and pleasure, "such a good boy you are, taking your husband's cock so good after he had a rough fight, we should do this more often..", he whispered the last part, before you could process what he said, he fucked you harder and rougher, making sure to let his cock leave nothing untouched in your cute hole, you let yourself drown in the pleasure, you always loved the feeling of your husband's cock pounding you, even if you both did it everyday, it would still be such a pleasure to have his cock deep inside you.
"D-daisuke! Please i'm cl-close!", you said, body trembling, near your climax, "no no, you cum when i say you can!", he said, looking up at you before putting his thumb on your slit, not letting you cum, "please!", you cried but still, he wasn't letting you.
It was only when he was almost near his climax, he let go of your aching cock and began fucking inhumanely, letting you arch back and eyes roll back, with a few more thrusts, you both reach your climax, you fall over to his chest, thinking the unending pleasure and pain would be over, "Tired already? My anger has not been subdued, darling.", he forces you under him, this was going to be a long night, an Angry Daisuke, fucking you into oblivion.

Millionaire Detective is just if Bruce Wayne was 10% more toddler and if he didn't do the Batman shit, he just joined the police force and used his money for everything and if Gotham was like 50% more like Metropolis or any other normal ish series.
Imagine if it was 2004 The Batman Bruce Wayne and Ethan Benett were in this situation. Bruce is a rich bitch who does whatever he wants and Ethan is the normal guy who's just dragged around for the ride.
It'd be funny.

When The Millionaire Detective's Late to a Date
Day Five of The Underrated And The Unwritten
Notes: does the title lowkey suck? why do i feel like it does?
Warnings: n/a
Characters involved: Daisuke Kambe
Gender-neutral reader
Daisuke swore if the clock ticked on for another minute he was going to strangle somebody.
Daisuke Kambe was a lot of things, some of them worse than the others, but one thing he would never be, something he hadn't allowed himself to be referred to as, was tardy.
However, his family seemed to be hellbent on ruining that carefully curated reputation of his, what with their delayed meetings and persistence in holding him back from walking out the front door at that very moment.
Being a Kambe certainly had its advantages, but that also came with a reputation he had to uphold. One that for once was working against him.
Words couldn't begin to explain how restless Daisuke was as he watched the clock tick on, with his feet almost automatically dashing towards the door the second he had signed the required papers.
Seeing you awkwardly stand beside the restaurant's reception dressed up in the outfit he had asked you to wear had Daisuke nervously gulping as his car rolled to a stop,
Your reassuring smile and nonchalant tone only served to worsen his guilt, with Daisuke trying to order the most extravagant things and constantly apologising.
It was only when you took matters into your own hands that he finally seemed to calm down, with the gentle hold your hand had on his somehow grounding Daisuke enough to allow you to lead him out of the restaurant and towards a random park he hadn't even noticed in his haste to get there.
Sitting on a bench outside eating ice cream and discussing your lives certainly wasn't what Daisuke had in mind for that date, but he found that even such simple and inexpensive experiences could bring him pleasure.

"My Star"
Summary: The story revolves around Daisuke Kambe, a detective, and his pursuit of a street racer named Y/N. As their paths intertwine, they find an unexpected connection, exploring the complexities of their lives and emotions.
WC: 5k
Daisuke Kambe, a tall and lean detective with jet-black hair, moved through the crowded streets of the city with purpose. His impeccable appearance, right ear pierced, and well-tailored suit made him stand out even in the midst of the urban chaos. He was known for his sharp mind, relentless determination, and a penchant for solving cases that seemed unsolvable.
The latest case on Daisuke's plate involved a notorious street racer known only as Y/N. Rumors of Y/N's skills on the asphalt had reached legendary status, making them an elusive target for law enforcement. The thrill of the chase and the challenge of catching this enigmatic racer motivated Daisuke to pursue the case with unwavering intensity.
The streets were alive with the neon glow of the city as Daisuke received a tip about Y/N's whereabouts. The detective revved up his sleek black sports car, its engine humming with power as he set off in pursuit. The night air was charged with anticipation as Daisuke navigated through the winding streets, determined to bring an end to Y/N's high-speed escapades.
The chase was intense, with Daisuke skillfully maneuvering his car through tight corners and narrow alleys. Y/N, equally skilled, proved to be a formidable adversary, pushing their vehicle to the limits to stay ahead. The pursuit intensified, the city blurring into streaks of light as the two raced through the night.
Finally, in a heart-pounding moment, Daisuke managed to corner Y/N in a deserted industrial area. The detective stepped out of his car, his piercing gaze fixed on the elusive street racer. Y/N, face obscured by a helmet, revved their engine defiantly, the adrenaline of the chase still coursing through their veins.
"Game over," Daisuke declared, his voice cutting through the tension.
Daisuke Kambe stood amidst the wreckage, his eyes locked onto Y/N's helmeted face. "Looks like I'm caught," she said with a hint of a smirk, the adrenaline-induced rush transforming into a subtle flirtation.
Daisuke couldn't help but smirk in response, the air between them thick with tension that was no longer confined to the chase. The neon lights cast a romantic glow on the scene, and in the midst of the wreckage, something unexpected blossomed—a connection that transcended the boundaries of their roles.
"Caught, indeed," Daisuke replied, his usual stoic demeanor softened by the unexpected turn of events. "I have to say, you're a lot more interesting than I anticipated."
Y/N chuckled, the sound muffled by the helmet. "Well, Detective, maybe you're not so bad yourself. What now?"
Daisuke hesitated for a moment, his usual efficiency momentarily clouded by the unspoken attraction between them. "I suppose I should take you in, but..." He trailed off, his gaze lingering on Y/N's eyes.
"But?" Y/N prompted, a teasing smile playing on her lips.
Daisuke shook his head, as if trying to clear his thoughts. "But I think I'll let you go. Just this once."
Y/N's eyes widened in surprise. "You're letting me go? Why?"
Daisuke's piercing gaze softened. "Consider it a moment of weakness. Enjoy your freedom, Y/N. But know that this detective won't be so lenient next time."
With that, Daisuke turned and walked away, leaving Y/N stunned amidst the wreckage. The city lights reflected in her helmet as she watched him go, the thrill of the chase replaced by a newfound intrigue.
A few days later, in a quiet café tucked away from the bustling city, Daisuke and Y/N found themselves across from each other. The atmosphere was surprisingly calm, a stark contrast to the neon-lit chaos of their previous encounter.
In the quiet café, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee hung in the air as Daisuke Kambe and Y/N sat across from each other. The ambiance was serene, a stark contrast to the high-octane world they had inhabited just days before. Soft jazz played in the background, casting a gentle cadence over their conversation.
Daisuke sipped his black coffee, his gaze fixed on Y/N. "So, Y/N, what's the real story behind the street racing? It can't just be about the thrill."
Y/N sighed, her eyes momentarily clouded with a mixture of memories and emotions. "It started as an escape, you know? The rush, the freedom—it's addictive. But over time, it became something more. A way to feel alive in a world that often felt too mundane."
Daisuke's curiosity deepened. "And the risks? Getting caught by the police, the danger—do those add to the thrill?"
A wry smile tugged at Y/N's lips. "Perhaps. But there's something else, Detective. It's about pushing boundaries, testing limits. Living on the edge, even if it means risking everything."
As the conversation unfolded, the layers of their personalities peeled away, revealing vulnerabilities and shared experiences. Daisuke, known for his cool exterior, found himself opening up about the pressures of his job, the weight of expectations, and the isolation that came with it.
Y/N listened intently, her eyes reflecting a genuine understanding. "It sounds like we're not so different, Detective Kambe. Both of us trying to break free from the constraints of our lives in our own ways."
Daisuke nodded, acknowledging the unexpected connection between them. "Maybe. But there's a fine line between breaking free and recklessness. You have to be careful, Y/N."
A hint of gratitude flashed in Y/N's eyes. "You sound like you care, Detective. Is that just part of the job, or is there more to it?"
Daisuke hesitated, his usual confidence momentarily shaken. "Maybe there's more. Maybe I see something in you that I didn't expect. Something worth saving."
The air between them hung heavy with unspoken emotions, and for a moment, time seemed to stand still. In that café, amidst the subtle hum of conversation and the clinking of coffee cups, a connection formed—one that transcended the roles of detective and street racer.
As dawn becomes dusk they part ways with a smile.
The city's neon-lit streets were a playground for those seeking the thrill of the night, and Daisuke Kambe patrolled them with a keen eye. His pursuit of Y/N, led him through winding alleys and bustling avenues. The night air crackled with the anticipation of the chase.
Daisuke's sleek black car cut through the urban landscape, a shadow in pursuit of another. The rhythmic hum of the engine echoed in the deserted streets as he closed in on the elusive racer. The city lights blurred into streaks of color, mirroring the adrenaline-fueled dance between detective and racer.
And then, in a burst of speed, Daisuke caught up to Y/N. The moment hung suspended in time as their eyes locked through the windshield, the pulse of the city syncing with the rapid beats of their hearts.
The chase came to an abrupt halt as Daisuke maneuvered his car to block Y/N's path. The street racer, her eyes reflecting a mix of defiance and exhilaration, brought her vehicle to a stop.
Daisuke stepped out of his car, his tall figure casting a commanding presence on the empty street. "Y/N," he called out, his voice cutting through the stillness of the night.
She emerged from her car, a mixture of surprise and resignation in her eyes. "Detective Kambe, you really know how to spoil the fun."
Daisuke approached, his gaze unwavering. "This isn't a game, Y/N. Street racing endangers lives, including your own. What are you running from?"
Y/N sighed, a vulnerability breaking through her tough exterior. "Sometimes, the speed is the only thing that makes sense, Detective. The city, with all its complexities, can be overwhelming."
Daisuke studied her for a moment, his stern expression softening. "You don't have to face it alone. There are other ways to find meaning and purpose in this city."
As the night air settled, Daisuke and Y/N found themselves at a crossroad
In the tense aftermath of the street race, Y/N's eyes met Daisuke's, a defiant spark burning within. The city's nocturnal symphony surrounded them, a silent witness to the charged standoff on the deserted street.
Daisuke, his expression unwavering, called out, "Y/N, we need to talk about this. Running won't solve anything."
But Y/N remained resolute, a rebellious glint in her eyes. "Not another word, Detective," she declared, her voice cutting through the night air.
With that, she swiftly retreated, disappearing into the labyrinth of alleys and shadows. Daisuke, left standing alone on the silent street, felt the weight of the unresolved tension lingering in the air.
The city, with its sprawling expanse and hidden corners, seemed to hold its breath. The chase might have paused for now, but the intricate dance between detective and street racer was far from over.
The city's heartbeat echoed through the night as Daisuke Kambe strolled through a dimly lit alley, his thoughts consumed by the complexities of his latest case. The solitude was abruptly shattered when he stumbled upon Y/N in the midst of a heated argument with a significant other. The air was charged with tension, and Daisuke, instinctively drawn to the unfolding drama, couldn't help but intervene.
"Y/N," he called out, his voice calm but firm.
Y/N's eyes, filled with a mix of frustration and vulnerability, met Daisuke's. "Detective Kambe? What are you doing here?"
Ignoring the question, Daisuke turned his attention to the significant other, leveling a gaze that spoke volumes. "I suggest you leave. This is a private matter."
The significant other, recognizing the weight of Daisuke's presence, reluctantly backed away. As they disappeared into the shadows, Daisuke turned back to Y/N, who stood there with a mixture of emotions playing on her face.
"Are you okay?" he asked, genuine concern in his eyes.
Y/N sighed, running a hand through her hair. "I don't know, Detective. It's just... life, you know?"
Daisuke nodded in understanding. "Sometimes it's overwhelming. But you don't have to face it alone. If you need someone to talk to, I'm here. If you don't mind me asking, why did you run away earlier? What are you trying to escape?"
Y/N, leaning against her sleek racing car, met his gaze with a defiance that hinted at a deeper vulnerability. "Detective Kambe, some things are better left unsaid. I'm not looking for a lecture."
Daisuke, undeterred, closed the distance between them. "Running won't erase the questions, Y/N. We're connected in ways you can't ignore. I want to understand, not just as a detective but as someone who sees more than what's on the surface."
Y/N averted her gaze, a subtle shift in her demeanor betraying the internal struggle. "This city... it suffocates sometimes. The speed, the adrenaline, it's the only way I can feel free."
Daisuke, with a penetrating gaze, pressed further. "And what about the rest of your life? What are you running from?"
A moment of silence hung in the air, the distant sounds of the city accentuating the weight of their unspoken words. Y/N, grappling with the turmoil within, finally spoke, her voice a whisper in the quiet alley. "There are things I'd rather forget, Detective. Racing gives me a momentary escape."
Daisuke's expression softened, a rare touch of empathy breaking through his composed demeanor. "You don't have to face it alone. Whatever you're running from, there are other paths. Let me help."
Surprised by the detective's unexpected compassion, Y/N found herself opening up about the complexities of her personal life. Daisuke, in turn, shared his own struggles, creating a bond that went beyond the roles they played in the city's intricate dance.
As the conversation unfolded, Daisuke noticed the turmoil in Y/N's eyes gradually give way to a glimmer of appreciation. Sensing an opportunity to offer solace, he spoke, "How about we get away from the noise for a bit? There's a cliffside not far from here, a place where you can clear your mind."
Y/N hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "Sure, why not?"
The night air was cool as they drove to the cliffside, the city lights fading into the distance. Once there, Daisuke and Y/N found themselves perched on the edge, the vast expanse of the night sky above them.
"Look at the stars," Daisuke said, his voice gentle. "They have a way of putting things into perspective. No matter how chaotic life gets down here, they remain constant."
Y/N followed his gaze, and for a while, they sat in silence, the city's noise replaced by the soft hum of nature. As the stars painted patterns in the night sky, a sense of peace settled between them.
Daisuke, ever the enigma, broke the silence. "You know, Y/N, life can be like navigating a maze. It's full of twists and turns, and sometimes, it feels like there's no way out. But even in the darkest moments, there's a path forward. It might not be clear at first, but it's there."
Y/N glanced at him, a mixture of gratitude and curiosity in her eyes. "Detective, you're not exactly what I expected. Why are you being so... understanding?"
Daisuke chuckled, a rare moment of vulnerability breaking through his composed demeanor. "Maybe I've come to appreciate the unexpected. People, like puzzles, have layers. You just have to take the time to unravel them."
The conversation flowed effortlessly as they shared stories under the starlit sky, weaving a tapestry of shared experiences and understanding. Daisuke spoke of the pressures of being a detective, the weight of expectations, and the sacrifices he had made along the way. Y/N, in turn, opened up about the struggles of balancing personal desires with the demands of a high-speed life on the streets.
As the night deepened, their connection grew stronger. Daisuke found himself drawn to Y/N's resilience, and Y/N, in turn, appreciated the unexpected companionship that had arisen from the chaos of their lives.
"It's strange, isn't it?" Y/N mused, her eyes fixed on the horizon. "How a chance encounter can change the course of a night."
Daisuke nodded, his gaze lingering on Y/N. "And sometimes, a night can change the course of much more."
As they sat there, the world seemed to fade away, leaving only the gentle rustle of the night breeze and the distant murmur of the city below. In that moment, Daisuke offered Y/N a rare glimpse into the depths of his soul, a side of himself few had seen.
"Thank you, Detective," Y/N said, breaking the quietude. "For being there when I needed it."
Daisuke simply nodded, a tacit acknowledgment of the unspoken bond that had formed between them. The city, with all its complexities, seemed distant as they continued to share the solitude of the cliffside, their hearts entwined in the quiet magic of the night. Little did they know that the road ahead held challenges that would test their newfound connection, but for now, they found solace in the shared silence of the stars.
Daisuke rose from his seated position, dusting off the back of his trousers. The tranquility of the cliffside remained, but the real world beckoned. Turning to Y/N, he extended his hand, a silent invitation.
"Let me take you home," Daisuke said, his voice a gentle undertone against the night.
Y/N looked at his outstretched hand, a subtle warmth spreading across her features. With a nod, she accepted his offer, allowing him to help her up from the rocky perch. The contact was fleeting but carried a weight of understanding, a bridge built between them in the quiet of the night.
The city sprawled below, its distant lights flickering like a sea of stars caught in the urban expanse. Daisuke led Y/N back to his sleek black car, and they embarked on a journey back to the heartbeat of the city.
As the car glided through the winding streets, the silence between them spoke volumes. Daisuke, usually guarded, found comfort in the shared quiet, and Y/N, grateful for the unexpected company, marveled at the city's transformation from chaos to a quiet sanctuary.
Upon arriving at Y/N's destination, Daisuke parked the car and turned to face her. "Take care of yourself, Y/N," he said, a genuine concern etched in his eyes.
Y/N smiled, a blend of appreciation and something deeper. "You too, Detective. Thanks for tonight."
Daisuke watched as Y/N disappeared into the night, the city reclaiming her with its myriad of complexities. He lingered for a moment, the echoes of their shared connection lingering, before navigating the darkened streets once again.
The night had brought unexpected turns, forging a bond between Daisuke and Y/N that transcended the roles they played. Little did they know that the city, with all its unpredictability, held more surprises in store for them, and their paths would cross again in ways that would test the strength of the connection they had discovered on that cliffside under the stars.
The morning sun spilled through the windows, casting a warm glow across Daisuke Kambe's impeccably decorated apartment. As he rose from his slumber, he prepared for the day ahead, the events of the previous night and the shared moments with Y/N lingering in the recesses of his mind.
Daisuke dressed with his usual precision, the weight of his responsibilities settling on his shoulders. Little did he know that the day held unexpected turns, and as he stepped out into the bustling city, the air crackled with a sense of anticipation.
The streets were alive with the ebb and flow of urban life. Daisuke navigated through the familiar chaos, the city lights reflecting in his piercing gaze. As he passed by a quaint restaurant, something caught his eye—Y/N, sitting across from another person, engaged in what seemed to be an intimate conversation.
A sharp pang resonated through Daisuke's chest, an unexpected twist in the narrative of the morning. He stood there for a moment, hidden in the shadows, watching the scene unfold. Y/N, her laughter echoing in the air, appeared completely engrossed in the company of her date.
The weight of the realization settled on Daisuke's shoulders—a mix of confusion, disappointment, and an emotion he hadn't anticipated. The city, with its indifferent façade, seemed to mock him as he grappled with the unexpected sight.
For a fleeting moment, Daisuke considered turning away, retreating into the familiarity of his own world. But a sense of determination overcame him. He squared his shoulders and approached the restaurant, his expression betraying none of the tumultuous thoughts swirling within.
Y/N looked up, catching sight of Daisuke's approach. Her eyes widened in surprise, a flicker of guilt flashing across her face. The atmosphere shifted as Daisuke greeted them, his tone even and composed, concealing the internal storm.
"Good morning, Y/N. What a coincidence to find you here," he said, a thin smile playing on his lips.
Y/N stammered, clearly caught off guard. "Detective Kambe, I... um, we didn't expect to run into you here."
Daisuke's gaze shifted to her companion, a polite acknowledgment in his eyes. "I hope you both enjoy your meal. I won't keep you any longer."
Daisuke's steps faltered as the realization hit him like a sudden gust of wind. The man Y/N was sharing the table with was none other than Haru Kato, his best friend and partner. A strange mix of relief and confusion washed over him, as the unexpected sight prompted a torrent of thoughts and emotions.
Approaching the table again, Daisuke couldn't help but feel a peculiar sense of betrayal dissipate. He greeted him with a nod, a subtle acknowledgment that he was aware of their connection. "Kato. What a surprise to find you two here."
Haru Kato, with an apologetic smile, stood up. "Daisuke, hey. We didn't expect to run into you either."
Y/N, sensing the tension, offered a hesitant smile. "Detective Kambe, this wasn't planned, I promise."
Daisuke waved off their concerns, his demeanor composed but his eyes revealing a complexity of emotions. "No need to explain. Enjoy your meal. I won't interrupt any further."
As he walked away, a storm of conflicting thoughts brewed within him. The city, once a familiar backdrop, now seemed to shift and twist with an unfamiliar energy. Daisuke couldn't escape the feeling of being on the periphery of something he hadn't anticipated.
Later, as he immersed himself in his detective duties, Daisuke grappled with the realization that Y/N and Haru, two significant figures in his life, were forging a connection outside of their usual orbits. The intricate dance of emotions left him questioning the boundaries of friendship and the unspoken rules that governed those closest to him.
As the day unfolded, Daisuke navigated the streets with a stoic façade, concealing the turbulence within. The city, with its towering buildings and bustling crowds, seemed to hold the echoes of shared moments and a future that remained uncertain. The story continued to unfold, with Daisuke Kambe standing at the intersection of past and present, his path shrouded in the complexities of friendship, loyalty, and the unexpected twists of fate.
As the day grew darker, a shadow seemed to fall over Daisuke Kambe's normally composed demeanor. The hope he had nurtured, the budding connection he thought he had found with Y/N, now seemed to wither in the face of an unexpected revelation. The streets, once a familiar territory, felt foreign as he grappled with a growing sense of betrayal.
In the solitude of his apartment, the city lights casting a melancholic glow, Daisuke found himself wrestling with questions that seemed to echo in the emptiness. Had his best friend, Haru Kato, unintentionally claimed a piece of the connection he had hoped to cultivate with Y/N? The complexities of friendship and the unspoken rules that governed those closest to him became an unyielding maze, and Daisuke couldn't help but feel lost within its intricate corridors.
The night wore on, and as Daisuke stared out of his apartment window, the city below continued its relentless march. Each passing moment carried with it the weight of unanswered questions and the ache of a hope that had been dimmed. The stoic detective, known for his unshakable resolve, found himself facing an unfamiliar vulnerability.
As he contemplated the unfolding narrative of his life, Daisuke questioned the nature of the connection he had sought. The city lights, once vibrant, now seemed to cast long shadows on the walls, mirroring the uncertainty that loomed over his thoughts. The lines between duty, friendship, and the yearning for understanding blurred in a landscape that felt increasingly desolate.
In the silence of the night, Daisuke Kambe grappled with the complexity of emotions that had taken residence within him. The city, with its myriad of stories and secrets, seemed to hold a mirror to his own uncertainties. The narrative, once clear, now felt entangled in a web of intricacies, leaving the detective to navigate the tangled threads of friendship, trust, and the delicate balance between vulnerability and strength.
Daisuke Kambe, seeking respite from the tumultuous thoughts swirling within, decided to head to a quiet bar nestled in a corner of the city. The neon sign flickered with a subtle invitation as he entered, the low hum of conversations creating a backdrop for the labyrinth of his own contemplations.
As he approached the bar, ordering a drink with the precision that marked his every action, he hadn't expected the familiar presence that would soon enter the scene. The door swung open, and there she was—Y/N, the source of the emotional storm that had unsettled his day.
Their eyes met, and for a fleeting moment, time seemed to suspend. The air between them crackled with an unspoken tension, the weight of the unresolved emotions hanging in the atmosphere. Daisuke, usually composed, found himself at a loss for words in the face of unexpected proximity.
Y/N approached, a mixture of surprise and hesitation etched across her features. "Detective Kambe, what are the odds of running into you again?"
Daisuke managed a thin smile, masking the complexity of his emotions. "Seems like the city has a way of bringing people together. Care to join me for a drink?"
Y/N, sensing the unspoken currents, nodded and took a seat beside him at the bar. The air became charged with an energy that transcended the clinking of glasses and the distant murmur of patrons. The city outside, indifferent to their shared complexities, continued its rhythmic pulse.
In the dimly lit bar, Daisuke Kambe and Y/N found themselves seated at a corner, a small oasis of solitude amidst the rhythmic chaos of the city. The clinking of glasses and the low hum of conversations provided a distant melody to their unfolding dialogue.
Daisuke, his usual stoicism momentarily softened, started the conversation. "Y/N, I didn't expect to run into you again so soon. Fate seems to have its own plans."
Daisuke took a sip of his drink, the amber liquid reflecting the subtle glow of the bar lights. "Indeed. Life has a way of surprising us." He paused, his gaze fixed on the swirling liquid in his glass. "I couldn't help but wonder about earlier. Seeing you with Kato."
Y/N's expression shifted, a mix of understanding and caution. "Detective Kambe, it's not what you think. Haru and I are just friends. I wouldn't want you to get the wrong idea."
Daisuke's smile, a rare expression that hinted at the genuine warmth beneath his composed exterior, illuminated the dimly lit bar. The invitation hung in the air, a simple yet loaded question that carried the weight of unspoken possibilities.
Daisuke, with a vulnerability seldom seen, broke the silence. "Y/N, there's something about you that's... different. It's as if you see through the layers, beyond the persona I project to the world. I've spent a lifetime building walls, but you manage to breach them effortlessly."
Y/N, her eyes reflecting a mixture of surprise and understanding, met his gaze. "Detective Kambe, you're not as impenetrable as you think. There's a complexity to you that I find intriguing, and beneath that composed exterior, there's a person I want to understand."
Daisuke's usual composure wavered, a subtle acknowledgment of a truth he rarely allowed himself to confront. "And you, Y/N? What do you see when you look at me?"
Y/N's gaze lingered on his, her voice a whisper amidst the ambient sounds of the bar. "I see someone who craves connection, just like the rest of us. Beneath the detective, there's a man who feels deeply, who grapples with the intricacies of life. And I find that incredibly appealing."
The admission hung in the air, a bridge between the roles they played and the uncharted territory of shared emotions. Daisuke, typically reserved, found himself entangled in the vulnerability of the moment. "Y/N, this connection... it's unlike anything I've experienced. But I can't help but wonder, with Haru in the picture, where do we stand?"
Y/N took a moment to gather her thoughts, her eyes searching Daisuke's for understanding. "Haru is a dear friend, and nothing more. You, Detective, have a way of getting under my skin in ways I never expected. There's a magnetic pull between us, and it's hard to ignore."
Daisuke's gaze held a mixture of relief and realization. "I thought I might have lost something when I saw you with him earlier. But hearing you say that... it changes things."
"Y/N," he began, his tone gentle, "how about we leave this place? Would you like to come to my place and watch a movie?"
Y/N met his gaze, a subtle spark of curiosity in her eyes. The tension that had lingered throughout the night seemed to shift, replaced by the prospect of a shared moment in a more intimate setting.
A small smile played on Y/N's lips. "Sure, Detective Kambe. A movie sounds like a good idea."
As they left the bar, the city outside embraced them with its ever-present energy. Daisuke and Y/N navigated the familiar streets, the air charged with the unspoken understanding that this was more than just a casual invitation.
Arriving at Daisuke's apartment, the city's bustling rhythm muffled by the closed door, they found themselves in a cocoon of privacy. The ambiance was different from the crowded bar; the space held an almost anticipatory stillness.
Daisuke, ever the gracious host, gestured towards the comfortable seating arrangement. "Make yourself at home, Y/N. I'll prepare something for us."
As they settled in, the movie playing on the screen became a backdrop to the evolving narrative between them. The air was thick with a blend of anticipation and unspoken feelings that seemed to transcend the confines of the room.
Daisuke, returning with a tray of refreshments, found himself drawn to Y/N's presence. They sat in companionable silence, the movie casting a flickering glow on their faces. As the scenes unfolded on the screen, the shared space between them became charged with an energy that mirrored the intricate dance of their emotions.
As the movie's credits rolled and the night deepened, Daisuke and Y/N found themselves in a cocoon of warmth and comfort. The initial distance that had defined their interactions melted away, replaced by a shared understanding that transcended words.
Unspoken emotions lingered in the air as they scooted closer together on the couch. The ambient glow of the TV illuminated their faces, casting shadows that danced in harmony with the quiet intimacy enveloping them.
Without exchanging a word, they gravitated towards each other, the distance narrowing until they were nestled in each other's arms. Daisuke, known for his stoicism, held Y/N with a tenderness that betrayed the complexities of his emotions. Y/N, in turn, found solace in the strong yet gentle embrace, a sanctuary in the arms of the enigmatic detective.
As the city outside continued its nocturnal symphony, the room became a haven for shared vulnerability. The movie's soundtrack faded into the background, replaced by the rhythmic cadence of their shared breaths.
In the quiet of the night, with the city's pulse as their backdrop, Daisuke and Y/N succumbed to the inevitable pull of sleep. Their intertwined fingers, the rise and fall of their chests in synchrony, painted a picture of a connection that had evolved beyond the constraints of the roles they played in the city's intricate dance.
Daisuke Kambe stirred from his slumber, the ambient light of the early morning casting a gentle glow in his meticulously decorated apartment. As he gradually became aware of his surroundings, a warmth beside him caught his attention.
His eyes opened to find Y/N, still nestled in his arms from the night before. The remnants of their movie night lingered in the room, the TV's soft glow now replaced by the soft hues of dawn filtering through the curtains.
Y/N, seemingly awake, turned to face him with a tender smile. Without a word, she leaned in and pressed a gentle kiss on Daisuke's forehead. The gesture carried a quiet intimacy, a silent acknowledgment of the connection that had deepened between them.
Daisuke, momentarily taken aback by the unexpected tenderness, couldn't help but return a faint smile. "Good morning, my star," he whispered, the words carrying a sentiment that seemed to echo in the tranquil space.
The city outside, slowly awakening to the day, seemed to echo the quiet moment shared between the detective and the street racer.

Summary: Daisuke Kambe, a reserved and wealthy detective, finds himself drawn to Y/N, a spirited woman enamored with the world of street racing. Their paths cross unexpectedly at a racing event, leading to a series of encounters marked by unspoken connections and shared moments.
WC: 3k
It was a chilly night, the air thick with the scent of gasoline and excitement. I had been observing Y/N's race when a sudden turn of events led to our first interaction. Her car came to an abrupt stop beside me, the roar of the engines dying down as she removed her helmet, revealing her long brown hair and striking green eyes.
"Detective Kambe," she spoke, her voice calm yet tinged with an edge of curiosity. "What brings you to our little racing world?"
Her gaze bore into mine, and for a moment, time seemed to stand still. Her beauty was undeniable – long brown locks framing her face, bangs falling gracefully over her forehead, and captivating green eyes that held a story untold.
Caught off guard by her directness, I collected myself. "I'm merely an enthusiast of fast cars and the allure of the night," I replied, my tone calculated yet genuine.
She offered a coy smile, a subtle hint of mischief dancing in her eyes. "Enthusiast or detective, which one is it, Detective Kambe?" Her words, laced with a touch of challenge, hinted at her awareness of my dual identity.
For a brief moment, our eyes met, and in that fleeting exchange, I felt a connection – an unspoken understanding that transcended the roles we found ourselves in.
As she put her helmet back on, readying herself for another race, I couldn't help but be captivated by her demeanor, her allure, and the mystery that surrounded her.
Little did I know, that brief encounter would mark the beginning of a journey, a slow unraveling of our intertwined fates, where lines between duty and affection would blur, and a forbidden connection would blossom in the midst of secrets and speed.
Haru Kato, my steadfast friend and colleague, invited me for a night out, hoping to lighten my spirits amidst the weight of my undercover investigations. As we sat in the bustling bar, my attention inadvertently drifted to the far corner where she was - Y/N, surrounded by her group of friends, laughter and energy radiating from their table.
"Daisuke, you seem distracted tonight," Kato remarked, noticing my gaze fixated across the room.
I hesitated, torn between the complexities of my emotions and the professional facade I was accustomed to. "It's nothing, Kato. Just caught up in my thoughts."
He followed my line of sight and, recognizing the subject of my distraction, a mischievous glint danced in his eyes. "Ah, I see. It's the street racer, isn't it?"
Caught off guard by his astuteness, I attempted to dismiss it. "There's no connection, Kato. It's part of my investigation."
Kato chuckled knowingly. "Investigation or not, you're smitten, my friend. Why not go over there and talk to her? Life's too short to miss chances."
His words lingered, stirring a whirlwind of conflicting thoughts within me. Reluctance intertwined with curiosity, and before I could ponder further, Kato nudged me in the direction of Y/N's table.
"You're Detective Kambe, remember?" he encouraged. "Confidence is your forte."
With a mixture of trepidation and resolve, I approached her table. As I drew nearer, her eyes met mine, an unspoken recognition sparking between us.
"Mind if I join you?" I spoke, attempting to mask the flutter of nerves beneath my composed facade.
Her friends exchanged glances, amused by the unexpected intrusion, yet Y/N's gaze held a hint of curiosity tinged with a touch of familiarity.
"Sure, take a seat," she replied, a subtle hint of intrigue woven in her words.
In that moment, amidst the clinks of glasses and distant chatter, our worlds collided - a detective and a street racer, their paths intertwining in an unexpected encounter that would set the stage for a journey fraught with complexities, desire, and a magnetic pull neither could deny.
The next day dawned with an air of restlessness lingering around Daisuke Kambe. Despite his day off from work, thoughts of Y/N occupied every corner of his mind, stubbornly refusing to fade. Determined to break free from the grip of her presence, he embarked on a series of distractions.
He attempted to bury himself in routine tasks, hoping to drown out the echo of her laughter and the memory of their brief encounter. Cleaning became his refuge, the meticulous arrangement of his lavish home a mere attempt to impose order upon the chaos swirling within him.
Every surface gleamed under his careful touch, yet the tranquility that usually accompanied such meticulousness eluded him today. As he meticulously arranged his belongings, his thoughts kept drifting back to her - her laughter, her eyes, and the inexplicable pull she seemed to have on him.
With each task completed, he found himself standing in the stillness of his impeccably arranged home, the silence echoing the turmoil of his thoughts. The memory of her smile lingered, disrupting the carefully constructed walls around his heart.
The day unfolded into a string of failed distractions, each attempt to occupy his mind proving futile. Y/N's presence lingered in the spaces between his thoughts, her essence seeping into the very fabric of his being.
Despite his efforts to distance himself, he couldn't deny the magnetism that drew him to her, a force stronger than reason, stronger than duty. She had ignited a spark within him, one that refused to be extinguished, setting ablaze a yearning he struggled to comprehend.
As the day waned and the sun dipped beneath the horizon, Daisuke Kambe found himself standing by the window, gazing into the fading light, a silent admission resonating within him - he couldn't escape the allure of Y/N, nor could he resist the pull that urged him to seek her out once more.
Y/N could feel the adrenaline pumping through her veins as she prepared for the night's race. The stakes were high; important people had put their bets on her, and failure wasn't an option. With each passing second, the anticipation and pressure grew.
As the starting signal pierced the air, she surged ahead, navigating the city streets with the precision of a seasoned racer. The familiar rush of speed coursed through her, but amidst the exhilaration, thoughts of Daisuke Kambe infiltrated her mind, a distraction she hadn't anticipated.
Her focus wavered as memories of their brief encounter swirled within her, causing her to miss a crucial turn. Panic surged through her, realizing her mistake, but it was too late. Her error cost her the lead, effectively taking her out of the race.
The screeching halt of her car marked the end of her hopes for victory, but she remained undeterred. Stepping out of the vehicle, she faced the consequences of her misstep. The air was thick with tension as demands for the return of bets grew more aggressive, the weight of impending trouble pressing down upon her.
Just as the situation seemed dire and the crowd closed in around her, a familiar presence intervened. Through the chaos, Daisuke emerged, a beacon of calm amidst the storm.
"Is there a problem here?" his voice resonated with authority, cutting through the tension.
Y/N's heart skipped a beat at the sight of him, relief flooding through her. She found herself at a loss for words as Daisuke, with his unwavering presence, shielded her from the encroaching trouble.
With an air of effortless authority, he diffused the escalating situation, his mere presence commanding respect. The demands for money quieted down, and a sense of calm settled over the chaotic scene.
In that moment, amidst the chaos and the flickering city lights, Y/N couldn't help but feel a surge of gratitude and an unfamiliar warmth toward Daisuke, a realization that his presence seemed to bring a sense of safety and reassurance she hadn't known she needed.
As Daisuke drove Y/N home that night, a sense of quiet understanding settled between them. The night enveloped them in a calming silence, broken only by the faint hum of the car's engine and the soft notes of music playing in the background.
"Thank you for the ride, Daisuke," Y/N spoke softly as they approached her house.
"It was my pleasure," he replied, his gaze lingering on her for a moment longer before she stepped out of the car.
Before she disappeared into her house, he spoke up, "I'll be at your next race."
A hint of surprise flashed across her face, but a smile curved at the corner of her lips. "I'll hold you to that promise, Detective Kambe."
With a nod and a subtle smile, she disappeared into her home, leaving Daisuke to watch her until she was safely inside.
As he made his way back to his own residence, thoughts of their brief conversation lingered in his mind. Once inside, he noticed a piece of paper on the dashboard, a hastily scribbled number – her number.
A smile crept onto his face as he realized she'd left it for him. Without hesitation, he picked up his phone and sent her a text, a simple message confirming their encounter at the next race.
In the following days, Daisuke found himself increasingly drawn to Y/N's world of speed and thrill. While his days were consumed with work, whenever he had a chance, he couldn't resist watching her races. Her unparalleled skill and finesse on the tracks captivated him, each victory leaving him in a state of silent awe.
Her eyes, illuminated with determination and passion as she crossed the finish line, held a certain allure that enticed him. It was in those moments, amidst the rush of victory, that Daisuke witnessed a glimmer of her true spirit, and it left him enchanted.
Despite the bustling energy of the racing scene, it was Y/N's post-race interactions with him that made his heart skip a beat. The way she spoke to him, her eyes reflecting a warmth that seemed reserved for him alone, had a way of lighting up his world.
Their conversations, brief yet meaningful, held a charm of their own. The camaraderie that began to blossom between them, built upon mutual respect and shared moments, left Daisuke feeling an unfamiliar sense of happiness.
He found himself eagerly anticipating their encounters, cherishing the moments when they could steal a few words amidst the chaos of the races. Her presence had become a source of solace in the whirlwind of his daily life, and the connection they shared held a promise of something more profound than he had ever anticipated.
As the days passed, Daisuke couldn't deny the impact Y/N had on him. Her passion, her unwavering spirit, and the way she effortlessly brought joy into his life began to unravel the walls around his heart, slowly weaving her way into the very fabric of his thoughts.
The pulsating energy of the racing scene subsided as Y/N stepped off the track, her expression a mix of exhilaration and fatigue. Amidst the scattered cheers and congratulatory remarks, she spotted Daisuke observing from a distance.
Their eyes met, a silent understanding passing between them. As she approached him, a tired yet content smile graced her lips.
"Detective Kambe, fancy seeing you here again," she greeted, her tone playful yet tinged with a genuine warmth reserved for their interactions.
"Your performance was exceptional, as always," he complimented, a note of admiration laced in his words.
She chuckled softly. "Thank you. It's the thrill of the chase that keeps me going."
Their conversations flowed effortlessly, a comfortable ease settling between them. Amidst the chatter about the night's race and the rush of emotions, they shared anecdotes and glimpses of their contrasting lives.
Daisuke found himself opening up more than usual, sharing snippets of his meticulously controlled life, while Y/N offered insights into the chaotic yet invigorating world of street racing.
Their exchanges held a certain magnetism, an unspoken understanding that transcended their different worlds. Each conversation seemed to draw them closer, weaving threads of familiarity and companionship.
As they parted ways, Y/N couldn't help but feel a sense of joy in their connection, a sentiment mirrored in the subtle smile that lingered on Daisuke's face.
Their post-race conversations had become a cherished ritual, a sanctuary amidst the bustling chaos of their individual lives, a space where their worlds intersected, if only for a brief moment.
That night as Daisuke returned home he felt a buzz in his pocket picking it up to find a message from y/n. “Can we meet at the park Wednesday?”. He immediately replied “ yes of course.” On the outside he look calm but inside he was frightened for how the night is going to go.
The city lights blurred into a gentle glow as Y/N and Daisuke strolled through the park. The tranquility of the night enveloped them, the air laced with a serene calmness.
As they approached a secluded bench, Y/N couldn't help but feel a flutter of nerves mingled with excitement. She took a deep breath, gathering her courage as they settled down, gazing up at the twinkling stars.
"Detective Kambe," she began, her voice soft, yet tinged with a hint of uncertainty.
He turned to her, his gaze attentive and inviting.
"There's something I've been wanting to tell you," Y/N continued, her eyes meeting his with a mix of hesitation and sincerity. "It's about how I feel."
Daisuke's expression remained composed, yet his eyes held a curious anticipation.
"You've become such an important part of my life," she confessed, her voice steady but filled with emotion. "Your presence brings me a sense of comfort and happiness I've never known before."
She paused, gathering her thoughts before continuing, "I... I think I've developed feelings for you, Detective Kambe."
Silence lingered between them, the weight of her words hanging in the air. Y/N waited with bated breath, uncertain of his reaction.
Daisuke, ever composed, held her gaze with a thoughtful expression, his eyes reflecting a myriad of emotions. His response was measured yet genuine.
"Y/N, your presence in my life has been... unexpected yet profound," he admitted, his tone carrying a hint of vulnerability. "You've brought a sense of joy and understanding that I've come to cherish."
A serene silence settled between them, the twinkling stars overhead providing a gentle backdrop to the vulnerable moment they shared.
Their unspoken feelings hung in the air, a silent understanding passing between them, each aware of the uncharted territory their hearts had entered.
The tranquility of the night enveloped them, the air filled with a sense of vulnerability and anticipation. Y/N's heart raced, unsure of how Daisuke would respond to her confession.
"You've given me a perspective I never knew existed," Daisuke continued, his voice carrying a rare sincerity. "Your passion, your dedication – they've left an indelible mark on me."
He turned his gaze to the star-filled sky, as if searching for the right words amidst the constellations. "Y/N, I believe what we share is... special. Your presence has become an integral part of my life."
A subtle smile graced Y/N's lips, relief and contentment washing over her. The weight of unspoken emotions had found a voice, weaving a connection between them stronger than mere words could convey.
Their eyes met again, a silent understanding passing between them. In the soft glow of the night, under the canopy of stars, a fragile yet beautiful bond had blossomed, built upon shared moments and unspoken emotions.
As they sat in companionable silence, the world around them seemed to fade away, leaving only the gentle rustle of leaves and the quiet symphony of their hearts beating in unison.
Their conversations flowed effortlessly, weaving tales of triumphs and tribulations, laying bare the intricacies of their lives. As they walked, the park transformed into a sanctuary where time seemed to stand still, enveloping them in a cocoon of shared moments.
With each step, the distance between them diminished, replaced by an unspoken understanding and a burgeoning connection. Y/N found herself drawn to the enigmatic yet compassionate nature of Daisuke, while he discovered a sense of liberation in her spirited presence.
As they paused by a secluded spot, the quietude of the night enveloped them, their gazes lingering in a shared moment of unspoken emotions. It was amidst the serenity of that night, beneath the star-studded sky, that they realized their hearts had found solace in each other's company.
The gentle breeze carried an unspoken promise, whispering secrets of a future yet to unfold. It was in that moment that they silently acknowledged the depth of their feelings, a silent vow to explore the uncharted territories of their budding relationship.
With a shared smile that spoke volumes, they knew that this moment, amidst the tranquil park and the quietude of the night, would forever remain etched in their hearts.
As they bid each other goodnight, a silent understanding lingered between them, carrying the promise of a new beginning. The park, once a simple backdrop, had now become a witness to the tender beginnings of a love story that transcended boundaries.

Cooking with him
notes: long story short, I found out about this anime, saw a picture of Daisuke, instantly realized I would love him and decided to binge all 11 episodes and now I'm here. I would marry Daisuke in a heartbeat. Feel free to send me requests for Fugou Keiji Balance: Unlimited! I'm writing for Daisuke, Haru, Suzue and Hoshino for now.
contains: daisuke kambe x gn!reader, haru kato x gn!reader
warnings: none
Tumblr media
Daisuke is fairly new to cooking as he's always had a butler do it for him. But we've seen how proud he was about learning to make a tasty dish for the first time. That aside, Haru would often talk about cooking, so by now Daisuke is fairly open to learning new dishes to cook. He will deny this and say there's no need for him to learn how to cook and he's only doing it because he wants to see you happy but you can see he's having fun and he's boasting about the final result
You decide to start with something easy as he is inexperienced. Probably an easy one-pot dish or street food.
If it's street food there are actually quite a lot of things he's never tried. He heard of most of them but only from the media.
He's still....struggling with the knife. Don't even attempt to guide his hands, this is just going to distract him and increase the chances of him accidentally cutting his finger. "It's bleeding", he just says dryly and looks at you. You sigh and shake your head, reaching for the band-aid. Daisuke is pouting about the fact that you already expected something like this to happen and put them on the counter next to you.
You put the band-aid on his small cut and press a kiss to his hand. He's hesitating for a moment, looking at you with curiousity. "Why?", he just asks. "So it heals faster", you smile at him. He's confused. "Do it again." You chuckle and press another kiss to his knuckles before cupping his cheeks and giving him a kiss on the lips.
Daisuke is having some issues to properly understand the instructions on the recipe sometimes. He thinks caramelizing onions means putting caramel on them. When you explain what it actually is he furrows his brows. "Why don't they just say that then?"
"With 'seperate the egg' what do they mean? Crack it open? Separate the yellow from the white?"
When you cook something, he wraps his arms around you from behind and rests his head on your shoulder, watching you curiously. Occasionally he presses an appreciative kiss to your neck and nuzzles your skin while closing his eyes.
He's actually pretty careless when it comes to spilling things. Will end up with stains of tomato sauce etc. all the time on his white shirts. "Daisuke-" "It's fine this was only 65400 yen."
You hold your head. "Evil capitalist..." This gets a chuckle out of Daisuke and he presses a kiss to your cheek.
When you put the final result on the plates he's like "What about the side dishes and the appetizers and the dessert? Aren't we going to make that too?" "We're not making a dinner with several courses."
He absolutely adores the dish. You can see how proud he is of having made this and he's basically waiting for you to tell him excitedly how much you like it.
This is the reason he'll occasionally start asking HEUSC for 5 star recipes and attempts preparing them for you. He's....not THAT successful with that since those are way above the difficulty level he can currently master. So he begrudgingly resorts to simpler recipes again or asks Haru for help. Literally just sends him a text like "Come to my house" without any additional information and Haru thinks it's work-related until Daisuke leads him into the kitchen and is like "I need to prepare dinner for y/n."
He's having the sweetest smile on his face when you like the dish he cooked. He'll pull you into a hug after you have finished eating and just holds you for a while.
Tumblr media
Haru is experienced with cooking so if you're a beginner, he's perfectly able to teach you how to make a tasty dinner. If you cook for yourself regularly as well, he'll be happy to exchange tips and recipes with you.
He always invites you over to cook with him. When you knock on the door of his small apartment, he smiles at you and wraps you into a tight embrace before he presses a kiss to your lips. He grabs his wallet and keys and you're off to the grocery store around the corner.
Haru and you always go grocery shopping together and you share the bill. He always gets you a little something like an ice cream or your favorite candy to remind you he loves you and to see you smile.
Back at his apartment you prepare the ingredients together. Haru occasionally glances at you from the side and can't help but smile. Somehow you doing such simple things like cutting vegetables or inspecting the recipe makes him realize how much he loves you. Doing domestic things with you always makes him look forward to spending his future with you.
He'll also often wrap his arms around you from behind and loves when you do the same. "I love you", he smiles at you and kisses you softly.
Occasionally will feed you some of the ingredients, like a cheese cube or a slice of tomato etc.
When the food is in the oven or currently cooking, Haru spends the time with you sitting on his lap and snuggling you. He often uses these moments to talk about your day and what he did at work today. Of course he leaves out all the confidential stuff, but there's always something happening that he can tell you about. Sometimes he complains about Daisuke. "And then he bought the entire mall just to put it on lockdown so the criminal couldn't flee the building-"
You taste the food together to see if it still needs some spices.
He always listens to your input and values it greatly.
He even tries to make the dinner look fancy. He puts a vase with flowers on the table and lights up some candles.
He's very relieved and happy when you like the dinner he made. He'll often surprise you with a dessert he made earlier before you arrived and stored in the fridge until now.
Sometimes when you text him that you had a stressful day he'll prepare dinner for you on his own to surprise you. He'll guide you to the table and presses a kiss to your lips, asking you to let him spoil you today. "You deserve some rest", he smiles and caresses your cheek.
After you finished eating he'll carry you to the bathroom to take a bath with you or to the bed if you need to sleep. Either way, he'll hold you close and nuzzles your cheek with a peaceful smile on his face.
When you two bake together, once or twice the original plan had escalated into a flour fight. "I hate us for having to clean this up now", you sigh and Haru laughs, chucking another hand of flour towards your shoulder.
You pout and he cups your face and presses multiple kisses to your lips.
Sometimes he'll bring things you baked to his workplace and shares them with his colleagues, slightly bragging about how his awesome s/o made these delicious treats. He's super proud of you.
