Finally getting some work done on my challenge OC this week. Or one of them at least.

This is Ecto, a blind batfolk who lives on the Far Side with his twin, Alba. They reside on a Terra known as Stringhold, named for the city-sized arachnoid nest that takes up a good portion of its forests and cave system.

Month got way from me a little bit.

My challenge character for @far-side-skies monthly bird challenge.

He is a researcher and inventor. He likes to build new machines for Cyclonia. More because they fund him than anything else. He had a work shop off terra to work in as his work is often explosive. Yes that is how he lost part of a hand and his leg. Two different experiments didn't go so well.

He's a shape shifting opossum man who likes to partially shift, so he has a tail 24/7. He also has a small army of opossums whom he loves dearly. They bring him things, both in material for his work and information about the goings on outside his hermit style work shop.

Ostri is also a child of Death. As in the God of Death. Man picked up a possum and said this is mine now, and it turned into a child.

The colors ended up a little dark in parts than I intended, but I still quite like it.

this month's entry for @far-side-skies' bird oc challenge!

except this is no bird, Gabriel Pelangmarah hails from the far south of Atmos and was the proud medic of the former Storm Hawks.

The oldest member at age 40, Gabriel was a field medic part of Atmos' main army during the War of Burning Glass before he decided to semi-retire into life with the Storm Hawks as their on-site healer. His mantra of "Do some harm, take no shit" extended to his fellow members, that staff of his packed a punch, especially when he was mad at them for pulling stupid stunts and walking out with stupid injuries.

Any and all times he went out of the Condor to help in battles he usually turned out unscathed, mainly because nobody wants to deal with 2.5 metres of an angry elephant with a thwacking stick charging at you.

Despite all of that he was still a softie, anyone who needed a nice chat could come into his room or clinic and they'd be greeted with calming tea, and grandma candies and walking out with lighter shoulders and a pat on the back.

Shame about him dying first...guess that means no one could have addressed...the elephant in the room....

This months oc for @far-side-skies challenge

Phantom "Tom" Rex

Head librarian of the Atmosian skyknight council library.

He was born on Terra Hades which had an exposed core and was destroyed when he was 18. He was separated from his twin sister Scrīc in the fallout. She went to Cyclonia.

He is very secretive about his past as it's not a good one. He chose to be a librarian because he just wants to peacefully read his books and forget the world exists.

He has too much paperwork for that though and has not been able to read all the books yet.

Has a specific love for cloaking crystals. And can be bribed with them for information or in his sister's case a place to stay for a while. She needed a place to hide for a few months and he begrudgingly let her stay with him. Dae [a previous challenge character] and Sidian [leader of the nightcrawlers] also used his place as a meeting ground for a time.

please just let him read his books. That's all he wants. to read all the books. Even the bad ones.

Here’s my character for April’s challenge! @far-side-skies

Kamali Ambers, aka “Dangerbug,” a top spy and assassin of the Cyclonian forces. Rumour has it that she was a Sky Knight squire in training before she kicked it. What was the reason? No one is really sure, but they’ve clued it up to mainly the Sky knights fault.

Originating from Terra Lepidops, Kamali is a Farasha, a group of people who have inherited butterfly like features, some looking more insect then others.

Being a bit of an adventurer, Kamali had set out to see the world not sheltered by her Terra. The Farasha were aware of the war between Atmosia and Cyclonia, but Kamali wasn’t aware of how bad it truly was until she saw it with her own eyes.

Headstrong and a bit reckless, Kamali is someone who aims to win, wanting to be remembered as someone who made a difference, who helped lead the people who accepted her to victory.

The origins of the “Dangerbug” title is not very clear, but their are whispers that the Farasha earned the name for scaring the Dark Ace.

Hope you like her! She was fun to draw.

Name: Hirundo Progne

Age: 18

Terra: Coriolis

Occupation: Crystal technician but aspirating squadron member

Living in the most rural area of Terra Coriolis (Freshets Highlands) it’s hard to get crystal technology working properly, so Hirundo’s family take care of electricity systems based on crystal. They are Atmos’ electricians.

Hirundo works along with her parents, uncles, aunts, cousins and 5 siblings but are based on Velum, the “capital” of Freshets Highlands, where the population has a really particular ethnic identity that is different from the rest of Coriolis.

She loves her work and even if she’s not interested in crystal magic itself, she loves the technical aspects of electricity that crystals produce. But she also wants to form a squadron along with her friend Roc and his friends Garuda and Anqa. Only time will tell if this happens or if their lives will make them walk apart, because all of them need to work to sustain their families and the leaders of Coriolis aren’t interested in Freshet.

Taking a Nice Stretch

Finally yeeting together a rough sketch of this month's bird OC(s). I wound up using a pair of identical twins for this one.

Phobos and Deimos Avadat are the youngest children of two high-ranking Talons named Cepheus (deceased) and Cassieopeia Avadat. They've got three older sibilngs: Hamlet (deceased), Monsoon and Andromeda (deceased). By the time the show starts, both of them are in their 40s.

Phobos was a commander of Cyclonia's cavalry division, often at the frontlines riding a pegasus into the thick of battle. Until a skirmish with the Rebel Ducks went seriously wrong and left him scarred and disabled (the picture above is pre-injury as I'm trying to pin down his base appeareance) about a year or two before the return of the Storm Hawks. Instead of retiring outright, he applied to transfer to the beastkeeper division, and now spends his time caring for the pegasus ranks and Cyclonia's other bestial numbers (occucrows, trackbeasts, etc.). It's allowed for him to be able to spend more time with his partner and children, but has severely disappointed his mother. He no longer cares, and some part of him blames her and the pressure she put on him to excel in the Talon ranks on his previous inability to bond with his children.

Deimos is just as, if not more successful than his twin. He's the leader of one of Cyclonia's specialist squadrons, the Fog Howlers. They're a strike team and one of the major players in the invasion and subsequent takeover of Merbia. He's still going strong and working to rise even further up the ranks of the Talon army. Far less laid-back than Phobos, he is of the opinion that Cyclonia's royal family has run its course, and the Empire is due for a change in leadership chosen by the people. He's not the only person with this opinion, and this insurrectionist group is known as the Disciples. Their choice in new ruler? Dark Ace. Phobos and Deimos's nephew.

character for @far-side-skies bird oc challenge Major Scric Rex, head of interrogations and a doctor. been watching a lot of M.A.S.H. lately and decided i wanted to add that to cyclonia so when she's not in an interrogation room she's near the front lines working to save soldiers lives. she hates it. she much prefers breaking people to fixing them. scric is from terra hades originally, same as her brother, Tom, whom i shared for a previous challenge.

fun little entry for @far-side-skies' bird oc challenge this month!

Anther Talon is renown amongst the ranks as one of the first and most successful Cyclonian assassins. Trained and a friend of Scimitar, he was given the codename "Kingfisher" to compliment the efficient manner in which he'd neutralise targets.

To the Atmosians, he does not exist, much in thanks to his distant methods of carrying out missions. With a success rate rivalling even Scimitar's, he is held in high regard by the Elites as a model worker and key agent in winning the war the dirty way.

Apparently, there's a rumour that he's on close terms with even Elite-General Snipe...but what would such an aloof agent of Scimitar be doing with someone as boisterous as him?

My character for this months bird contest! @far-side-skies

Meet Star! She’s a Grimalkian, a fanmade spieces I created who basically humans with feline like features. She’s about 6-7 years old and is very curious about the world. Her family comes from Terra Moggie, where the Grimalkian’s live.

Star is her human name. Since she can’t speak anything but the Grimalkian language, she communicates through gestures and drawings to the human friends she makes.

Her behaviours are cat like, and she is very playful. She does like to bite though, fair warning.

Hope ya’ll like her!
