Note
Not many people consider the light novels to be canon, but it is very funny seeing the author of them straight up call out these two for their massive brainrot.
Like, in one of that was released on Valentine's day i think we had lovely lines like:
"It may seem surprising but Kacchan never got any chocolate bc he thinks girls are a waste of time-" (from the producers of "literally no one asked")
"bastard, you are hot too". (They were both sick, and Izuku had to put his hand on Bakugo's forehead, which lead to them wrestling, and Bakugo feeling Izuku's skin too. And they were alone inside a tent.)
Plus a whole giant monologue about Bakugou's complicated feelings. 👌
Srry to bother you it's just that there's SO MUCH it's ridiculous
noooo ur not bothering me!!! I love getting these asks everyone should just keep updating me on bkdk
ajfisidid they're so cute.....why they gotta tease us like that

The Wicked Witch and A Prince [BKDK]
BKDK Angst
CW: Blood, Violence, Discrimination, Death Mention, Hurt, Weapons, Kidnapping, Friends -> "Enemies" -> Lovers
__
Izuku ran through the forest, panting heavily, tripping over sticks and his own feet yet not stopping for a second.
The people that chased him weren't giving up for a second and he needed to find a place where he could just breathe. All he wanted to do was find some plants and berries that he could use for a potion he needed for his mother.
But he found himself at the verge of death if he stopped for even a second while he ran from people holding knives and bows ready to put him 6 feet under the moment they got the chance. He used what he could to keep himself going, a speed spell, a transformation spell, an energy spell, anything he could use. His stamina still continued to dwindle along with his energy to keep using spells.
Was he going to die here in the middle of the forest with no one to even remember who he was? Well, one person would.
But that person belonged to the kingdom that wished to see his demise.
Izuku continued to run until he saw a cave in the distance. He looked behind him and made sure the people chasing him were far enough and used a spell to teleport in. He panted heavily, hearing the way the people yelled in confusion on where he went. Their voices quieted down and they decided to just leave it and head back home leaving Izuku to sit on the ground and run his fingers through his hair.
He felt sick, every bone in his body ached. He had no more energy to move now that the adrenaline had worn off.
It hurt.
His life hurt. Did Kacchan still hate him? To think that he did hurt him more.
He thinks about the day everything happened constantly and every time it makes his heart break for the lost of his best friend and the beginning of the distance they would have between them.
--
Izuku smiled as he laid his head on Katsuki's chest, the blond running his fingers through his shorter green curls, a tint of red on both of their chubby faces, looking up at the stars with pure love.
"Kacchan, when you rule over the kingdom you won't forget about me right?"
"What kind of dumb question is that? Of course not, Deku!" Izuku smiled to himself, his heart beating fast in his chest.
He cared so much about him and their friendship. The roles they were supposed to play didn't matter at their young ages, they lived peacefully in bliss.
Izuku thought this would be how it was forever.
Yet when a villager had noticed them in the distance playing around, Izuku letting sparkles flow from his hands and Katsuki smiling softly at him they quickly ran in with a sword in tow. They pulled Katsuki back by the back of his shirt and announced to the town that Izuku was a witch.
"Protect our young Prince!" They said, yelling to the crowd that had formed, not caring about the look that settled on Izuku's face of fear and distraught. "Even if it means burning him at stake. We must protect him."
Even in Izuku's young mind, only 10 at the time, he knew that the way Katsuki looked at him then turned away was his moment to run deep into the forest he came from.
He hadn't looked back since.
--
Izuku finally made his way back home and yelled out for his mom but a response didn't come. He didn't worry yet and assumed she was just sleeping.
She had been ill the past few days, so she's been making sure to take care of her body. So Izuku whipped her up some tea as well as a stew that she would hopefully keep down. He walked the way to her room and slowly opened the door, his heart beating fast.
He didn't want to assume the worst.
He really didn't.
But when he made his way in he realized he wasn't invalid in his worry. He dropped the cup and bowl in his hands, them shattering the moment they reached the ground.
His mother was gone, a note on her bed.
A sinking feeling of dread fell over him as he walked towards it.
---
Izuku kept his face cover with the burlap cloak he had as he walked into the kingdom he never thought he would look at again.
The town looked livelier than he left it 9 years ago. The towns people waved to one another and commerce happily went along no disagreements in sight.
He was happy to see the kingdom again but at the same time he had a sense of melancholy.
He recognized the areas he used to hang out with Katsuki at and all the areas he loved just being in.
He smiled sadly as he grew near his designation.
He took a deep breath and knocked on the door.
---
Katsuki sighed, looking up at his sword on the wall before walking off to meet with his parents for a meeting. He's been a skilled fighter for years, ready to prepare for anything.
But with the memories of a boy he cared deeply for infesting his mind constantly he never wished to bear his own sword.
He was given it years ago and not once has he picked it up in thoughts of his childhood best friend.
He never wanted to leave Deku.
He wanted to spend more time with him.
Now he didn't have a clue where he was due to his stupidity his younger self had. He didn't even defend him when he was being driven out of town.
But who was really going to listen to a kid?
They didn't respect Izuku at the same age, they wouldn't have taken him seriously.
But how he wished for a moment to see his face or feel his green curls in between his calloused fingers again. Or to feel his warmth against him or to feel his pulse on his wrist that reminded him he was there.
But he wouldn't get it again.
So he lived his life normally, just dealing with the pain he felt in his chest for a lost friendship.
He was about to push open the doors to the throne room where his parents were but a yell from down the hall caught his attention.
It was from one of his most trusted and stoic guards in the most panicked voice he's ever heard.
"Prince Katsuki, come quick!" He started. "The villagers! They–They're inciting immolation in the square."
---
Izuku gazed upon the crowd around him, his eyes dull yet glossy on the verge of tears. It was what he had to do, yet he felt so scared about it.
He was being held onto while the towns people prepared a stake just for him.
This was the only way, he had to accept it.
He wished he could have done more. Figured out more. Taken care of his mom more.
Talked to Kacchan one last time.
But as the people kept working his thoughts grew into a whisper, not wishing to think harder on this.
He was so tired.
Maybe this was a good thing?
He sighed as he started to get dragged towards the stake, letting the sounds muffle out.
At least, until he got dropped onto the ground near the base and he listened as even through the muffled mess, everyone grew silent. It must have been destiny. Or even fate. But his eyes widened as he looked up at the familiar spiky blond hair and burning red eyes that looked right down at him. They both looked at one another in shock before Izuku teared up.
It was something he's never felt.
It was something he wouldn't experience again after today. Yet he couldn't quite put his finger on it.
It felt like relief almost? And bliss. A sense of euphoria.
He felt like he was back in that 10 year old body looking up at his childhood friend as he looked back at the witch that laid in fear on the ground. So he spoke before he could even think.
"Kacchan...if I'm going to die, I want it to be at your hands."
Katsuki's face turned more into a shocked one as he shook his head. "I-Izuku...you...how did you get in this mess?"
Izuku thought back at the note he read back home. The one that gave his mother's location and how she would live, even if he didn't.
"I-I guess I never stopped being selfless.." He chuckled quietly without humor. "But please, let me be selfish just this once?"
A guard of Katsuki's stepped forward and held his sword out for him. Katsuki looked between it and the look on Izuku's face.
Katsuki took deep breaths as his mind raced with so much he couldn't even think of correctly.
But a breath he took his hand shook as he gripped the handle of his sword, sharp and shiny showing the way its just sat.
He held the sword and looked at it before looking at Izuku once more.
"I see your hands shaking." He spoke. "Don't worry Kacchan.. I'm happy to die if it meant I got to see you again...and die in the most peaceful way possible."
Katsuki had tilted the sword some and Izuku took a hold of its point and brought it down to his chest.
"It's okay.. I promise."
With all the eyes watching, just like they were on that day, Katsuki felt the fear rush into his chest.
But the moment Izuku let go of his sword was the moment he shook his head and stuck it in the ground in front of both of them.
The crowd gasped as they watched this and watched Katsuki kneel down by Izuku and hold his hand out.
"We have some catching up to do." He said simply. Izuku was equally as shocked but tried his hardest to hide the tears that threatened to fall as he took his hand, allowing himself to be pulled up and to be pulled into Katsuki's arms back to the castle.
---
Izuku and Katsuki talked about everything. Their lives, mostly without the other. How much they've done since forever ago. How much they've grown as people.
Izuku let Katsuki feel his pulse on his wrist while Izuku laid his head on his chest listening to his heartbeat.
It was a long night of emotions. Izuku finally got a good night of rest.
His mother was taken care of by castle workers as he was protected and discussed in the castle.
Katsuki finally introduced Izuku to his parents.
They quickly went into action when Katsuki told them he wanted to make things better for Izuku and others like him. He wasn't going to feel unsafe ever again.
After only so long they finally got the chance to lay under the stars, Izuku laying his head on Katsuki's chest, his fingers, more calloused than before still running through his hair. In the dark of the night they made up for years of missing one another and years of their feeling of longing.
This time, no one could separate them again.
They held hands and shared a sweet kiss under the stars before making their way back to the castle.
Just a Prince and his witch.

The End <3

Now that we have reached the last chapter of the year. It is time to do a 2020 roll call of what I like to call, “State of the Shippers”:
1. IzuOcha. Status: Placated.
-IzuOcha’s could celebrate several cute tidbits throughout the year. Mini moments as they say.
Anime Highlights: The OVA’s came in clutch with moments for shippers all around and IzuOcha is no exception. We got a cute tidbit where Izuku and Ochako bumped into each other and were flustered.
Tumblr media
Manga Highlights: Christmas kept on giving to this fandom as the AM doll Izuku gave Ochako made many appearances. A cute fist bump between the two was also exchanged and Mina was right there bouncing with y’all.
Heroes Rising: Izuku super man carried Ochako to safety. And was Angy she was injured. Fans could enjoy the small Lois Lane moment.
Troubling Signs?: Ochako said “I would like to be excluded from this narrative” when it comes to her feelings for Deku. She’s a hero damnit! So if they are in for something, probably won’t be while they are still in school.
II. DabiHawks. Status: Yikes.
- Dabi and Hawk’s very public breakup set this fandom in disarray but also kind of disayay?
Anime Highlights: None yet. This fandom was cruelly cock blocked by Bones. Sorry DabiHawks stans.
Manga Highlights: Where to begin, my goodness. With these fans, I guess the good and the bad is a plus in this homoerotic double agent relationship. We have the notion that Dabi may have known Hawks when they were kids, which may be a positive? Hori sure loves his childhood friends. Other than that. The GIRLS WERE FIGHTIN’. Hawks is now permanently scarred by Dabi and I don’t think it was kinky folks. Tokoyami inserted himself in the middle to White Knight Hawks, Dabi broke up with him via YT expose and overall, shippers could anguish in the absolute MESS that this ship endured this year. But I’m sure that’s part of the appeal. So...yay?
Tumblr media
Heroes Rising: They were both in it.
Troubling Signs?: The entire relationship is a troubling sign which again, is part of the appeal. Maybe Hawks will cuddle up with Dabi’s father after the war. That’s troubling! Speaking of...
III. EndHawks. Status: Yearning and Burning.
-If there’s one thing Endeavor couldn’t stop worrying about, it was his hot (in more ways than one) new side piece who probably should have looked at the fine print when signing a contract to be a recurring guest star on “Keeping up with the Todoroki’s”.
Anime Highlights: A fateful meeting finally in high definition for all our eyes to see! Hawks’s unwavering support of his biggest hero was endearing to watch and their shenanigans together spurred the anime onlies to finally jump on the biggest May-December ship in the series.
Tumblr media
Manga Highlights: Endeavor’s admiration and concern for Hawks seeped through the pages as we entered our most exciting arc in the manga yet. Fate split these two up yet entwined their downfall together. And that Fate’s name was Dabi...or should I say ⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️ or should I just say Touya!
Heroes Rising: “Don’t bite my head off, Endeavor.” Geez, can you flirt a little less loud Hawks?
Troubling Signs?: They say never meet your heroes and Hawks is in for a rude awakening. We shall see just how deep his admiration runs or if Endeavor’s past will split our dynamic duo up for good.
IV: TodoDeku. Status: “Precious”
-Shoto’s “Midoriya is in Danger” radar was highlighted in both manga and anime. 4th User’s quirk, who?
Anime Highlights: “Midoriya hasn’t returned yet.” “Where’s Midoriya?” “Midoriya! Grab my hand!” “Have some of my Soba Midoriya.” Shoto gets it. His emotional support friend is a danger magnet. TodoDeku’s also enjoyed tiny tidbits in the OVA such as a hand grabbing scene. Gotta hold tight to those crumbs.
Tumblr media
Manga Highlights: Two Words. “Precious Friend.” Deku comes in w/o arms or legs fighting for Shoto and Shoto’s honor. These two spent the entire year worried sick about each other, and going against all odds to save each other. Precious Friends indeed. TDDK fans ate.
Heroes Rising: Shoto kicks some dog ass and then faints thinking of Deku (and Bakugo but shh. Let the shippers rejoice.) On the bright side, we have a 3rd movie coming featuring “The Three Musketeers” so shippers of TdDk can HOLD TIGHT to what’s to come.
Troubling Signs?: Shoto still doesn’t know about OFA and he’s gonna have LOTS of questions after this arc. Will Deku finally tell him? If not, it could make or break the ship.
V. TodoBaku. Status: “Shining through the city with a little funk and soul.”
-Who knew the greatest comedy duo we needed was Shoto and his hot headed “friend” or not friend? It still remains unclear to Shoto. Regardless, these two had a fun year.
Tumblr media
Anime Highlights: “I wanna see your cute face”, disco dancing, and more fun in the provisional license training. Plus the OVA added some cute moments between the two such as Bakugo staying behind to save Todoroki during a dangerous excercise and his adorable plan neatly animated for us. I’d say TodoBaku’s really were resurgent and energized this year!
Manga Highlights: Shoto, that is not how you properly Catch a Kacchan, I’m sorry. But at least you did it you mad lad. As with Deku, Shoto spent the year worried sick about Bakugo. While the anime let us have our fun, these two were suffering in the manga.
Heroes Rising: Again, Shoto put a dog down and then fainted with Bakugo on his mind (and Deku but we ignore that. Shush.) TodoBaku’s have the 3rd movie to look forward to which is bound to have some amazing content!
Troubling Signs?: They have a lot of trauma to deal with. And a lot of Deku to worry about. I also imagine Shoto will be hurt about being left out of the OFA secret. We shall see what 2021 has to offer.
VI. KiriMina. Status: Unbreakable.
-Changing your hairstyle to match the gal who inspired you in middle school? Sorry y’all but if Mina were a guy, I’d say that’s gay af.
Anime Highlights: We got that backstory Bois. Red Riot’s origin might as well make him be called Pink Riot. Again with Hori and the childhood friends though I wouldn’t exactly call them friends. They just went to the same middle school but Kirishima was highly influenced by Mina’s Chivalrous spirit! A ship is born!
Manga Highlights: The influence is mutual! Mina creates a move based on Kirishima’s unbreakable and we all let out a collective “awwww”. Also in the war arc, we got Kirishima making sure Mina’s chivalrous spirit shines through right into Gigantomachia’s mouth! KiriMina may just be the unsung MVP’s of this arc.
Tumblr media
Heroes Rising: They were in it.
Troubling Signs?: I can’t think of a single one. KiriMina’s can enjoy a peaceful sailing.
VII: KiriBaku. Status: Crumb Collectors.
-2020 was an uneventful year for KiriBaku but Bones made sure there were crumbs aplenty! Thank God for OVA’s!
Anime Highlights: KiriBaku’s did thrive in one episode! Kirishima reflects on the sludge incident and evolves his quirk based on inspiring words from Bakugo! Hooray! KiriBaku’s can thrive in their blossoming friendship. The OVA also has Kirishima (and Kaminari but shh) once again following Bakugo’s lead when it comes to the training excercise. How can you not? He’s so manly!
Tumblr media
Manga Highlights: Not gonna lie. There is nothing much here this year. I did find a teeny tiny flake in Aizawa’s flashback. Kirishima and Bakugo are sitting next to each other. Oh! And at the hot pot gathering, Bakugo sits next to Kirishima! Eat your crumbs KiriBaku’s! There’s always next year!
Heroes Rising: Kirishima hangs with a lazy Bakugo and delivers the most hilarious line in the whole movie. “Silly Bakugo, there won’t be villains here!” Hahah... Silly Bakugo. Oh you~ KiriBaku’s can inhale the fact that those two sure love to hover around each other!
Troubling Signs?: With great crumbs come little responsiblity. No trouble if there’s no content! 🤔
VIII: KamiJirou. Status: Singing their hearts out 🎶
-If there’s any ship that’s coming close to canonization, I think this is it, folks! “Think of the person most important to you!” Can’t argue with Midnight!
Anime Highlights: Kaminari does non stop encouraging of Jirou and her hobbies! He works super hard to learn guitar for her sake! We love a king who can encourage his queen!
Manga Highlights: Kaminari thinks of the most important person to him and surprise! It’s Jirou! All of the feels can commence.
Tumblr media
Heroes Rising: They were in it!
Troubling Signs?: Kaminari does love his women. And men. Kaminari overall is a huge flirt. But Jirou appears to have his heart strings. ❤️
IX: BakuDeku. Status: Rising. 👑
-Alternative Statuses include Winning, Thriving, Soaring. It’s just been non stop content this year. 2020 is truly the year for BakuDeku. The shippers can rejoice.
Anime Highlights: Three words. Be. My. Cane. The OVA’s helped fan the flames of the BkDk hearts with a surprise! Deku tops! Not only that, we got a lovely shoulder tap of encouragement in the canon material. While in season 4, Deku’s primary focus was Eri. Bakugo and Deku still had their moments to be hella gay.
Manga Highlights: Where do I even begin? I guess we’ll just cut to the chase with Bakugo Katsuki: Rising. We finally saw Bakugo’s true feelings manifest for Deku and if getting stabbed for him isn’t the ultimate showing of love, then idk what is. BakuDeku’s rounded out the year with the Volume 29 cover AND the volume 29 cover drafts to eat at our heart strings. Overall, their relationship got the spotlight in the manga this year. And we’re bound to start 2021 with a dramatic confrontation. Hand holding seems to be the key with these two and it didn’t stop with Heroes Rising...speaking of.
Tumblr media
Heroes Rising: The entire movie. Like....yeah. That’s it. [OP, your bias is showing. You have to be SPECIFIC.] {But random criticizer in my head, if I lay out the entire plot of the movie, my post will be too long} [OP....] UGHHHH Okay okay. The POPSICLE MELTING. THE HAND HOLDING. THE CHARACTER DESIGNS OF WHAT MIGHT AS WELL BE THEIR LOVE CHILDREN. Did I mention? “It’s fine if it’s you?” CAUSE YEAH. Oh and All Might randomly officiating their wedding in their heads like idk. Isn’t it just simpler if I say the whole movie??!
Tumblr media
Troubling Signs?: Well these two’s relationship is extremely delicate and while it has non stop soared this year, Deku might not take too kindly to Bakugo almost dying for him. Will they stop pushing each other away? Time will tell.
That’s all for this year folks! Happy Shipping and good luck to everyone next year!

how do i- what even.
yk what here goes nothing
pro hero AU
main pairing (platonic): todoroki and deku
romantic pairing: bkdk m/m (i can make this work trust me)
Izuku groaned as he plopped down onto his couch next to Shouto, it'd been a long couple of weeks what with the recent spike of villains in Japan as of late, and it'd really taken a toll on the young hero.
The green-haired man had also recently found out his mother was starting to get sick, really sick, doctors couldn't tell him what it was yet but they suspected cancer. The most supportive person in his life could be dying and he couldn't even do anything about it but pray it was a false alarm.
Plus, to top it all off, his and Katsuki's relationship was dangerously close to being revealed to the public after Pro Hero Pinky in all her glory pulled off a stunt at the annual pro hero interviews on valentines day. So they had both decided that they had to lay low for a while, and it was pure torture not being able to sneak a kiss when they were in public.
This all really wasn't doing any favors to Izuku's mental health recently, and he found himself with a lot more emotions than he could deal with. Mood swings never did agree with his personality, and they definitely didn't nowadays.
To sum it up, Izuku was exhausted, scared as hell, annoyed, wanting to sob, and really needing of affection all at once.
Now, it's important to note that, when feeling all these things, you do not under ANY circumstances, go to Shouto Todoroki with them without telling him the exact situation beforehand.
"Are you alright, Midoriya?" Shouto asked in a concerned tone at seeing his friend so worn out, he'd been noticing it the past few weeks if he was to be honest, even though he thought he knew the cause he'd never ask Izuku directly.
Izuku turned his head to the side to look at Shouto, wearing a straight line of resignation instead of a smile. "Gee I dunno Todoroki does it look like I'm alright?" He grumbled, turning his head back around so he could go back to mindlessly staring at the ceiling. He had hoped inviting Shouto over would bring his mood up, but so far it hasn't been going very well.
Shouto was slightly taken aback but nodded apologetically nonetheless. It was somewhat of a stupid question to ask someone who was pregnant, he thought to himself. "Right, my apologies..."
"No no... I'm sorry too..." Izuku sighed, feeling bad for snapping at his friend. "Really I am, I've just had so much on my mind lately, Todoroki... All these new villains are a pain in the ass, and I've already told you how random some of their quirks are. Plus, I can't even talk to Kacchan as much as we used to, and then my mom has been constantly on my mind lately too... Everything is just so stressful!"
"I understand completely." The other man nodded. He definitely did not understand his friend's situation as much as he thought he did. "Midoriya, have you at least told Bakugou?"
Izuku sighed, sinking back further into the couch. "Told him what? That I don't care if the stupid press sees us because I need him more than ever now? Or told him about how I think it's time we go public with this anyways?" He shook his head, even if he did think they could handle the press, he knew Katsuki would hate every second of it.
Shouto tilted his head, a little confused, before asking, "No... I mean, does he know about the baby?"
The greenette's thoughts abruptly came to a screeching halt, was he hearing correctly? Izuku sat straight up and turned himself towards Shouto, with a baffled face. "Todoroki... Who the hell is pregnant here?-"
"You are." He answered simply. "You got hit by one of the new villain's 'weird quirks' and it made it so you could get pregnant, though you didn't know that so that's why you've been going to your mom's a lot and avoiding Bakugou, right?"
To be honest, Izuku had no idea where to start with what he just heard from his friend. He let his jaw hang open for at least a minute before managing to speak again. "Todoroki. You are aware that Kacchan is asexual right."
"Yes, I am."
"...So how the fuck would I get pregnant even if i did have some stupid quirk hit me-"
Shouto made a confused expression at that, why was Izuku asking him about what he should already know? "Well, I assumed you'd done it with someone else, and he found out about it."
Izuku might've just gone through the five stages of grief after this conversation, or at least it looked like he had. "..SO YOU JUST ASSUMED I CHEATED- AND YOU WERE OKAY WITH THAT????"

--Just a little ficlet I had rolling around in my brain after the latest manga chapter. Can be read as platonic or romantic bkdk. Hopefully not too OOC, and probably some grammatical errors. Enjoy!--
* Manga spoilers- for those not caught up to chapter 317, ye' be warned!*
Finding that which is Lost:
It's been days, multiple infuriating days of searching, flying over rooftops and zigzagging through desolate alley ways and getting mostly useless information from the occasional civilian. Bakugou was pissed, hell he'd been pissed since he'd woken up in a hospital only to find out Deku was still unconscious, and then later to a goddamn letter and a nerd who'd gone off to fuck-knows-where. Uraraka had tried to tell him that he was probably just scared more so than angry, that they all were. Naturally he told her to shove it. But more than anything he'd been pissed from the moment that All Might walked right back into the UA dorms, fucking months later, looking absolutely miserable and terrified. The former Pro Hero had barely gotten the explanation out of what he and Deku had been up to before he'd straight up slugged the man. Deku left All Might behind? Deku's pushing everyone away? What the fuck does that even mean? Godammit, didn't he warn the damn nerd not to do this shit?! All Might at least had the decency to look apologetic, as if he knew he deserved the hit.
As he moves the buildings start to blur a bit and he recalls a memory from the recesses of his mind. He and Deku had been very little, he doesn't recall how old exactly, he just knew it was at some point before he had driven a wedge between their friendship, and it was the first time both of their families had gone on a camping trip. The two children had wandered away from the campsite for a bit to explore. He recalls several minutes passing and him and Deku getting separated, and even though /he/ wasn't scared of anything in the woods, he wanted to keep Deku close, you know, just in case, poor nerd would probably bawl his eyes out without him. Sure enough after a few minutes of searching he heard loud sobs and found the green haired boy crouched underneath a tree, his knees all scratched up from taking a tumble. Deku's green eyes lit up in relief upon seeing him and his little heart swelled at the reaction.
"Kacchan!"
"Stupid Izuku! I told you to stay with me!"
"I know, I'm sorry Kacchan, I guess I got lost."
"Can you walk?"
"Yeah-"
"Well, come on then!"
He grabbed Deku's hand and yanked him upright, then practically pulled him along behind him.
He put on his best All Might voice impression, "It's okay now, ya' know why? Because I'm here so you're not lost anymore. Let's go back Izuku!"

If he'd turned behind him, he'd have seen the beaming smile aimed his way.
But all he heard was the small, "Thanks, Kacchan."

Back in the present moment, Bakugou was snapped out of his memory by a blur of green, and he abruptly came to a halt on a rooftop. Looking over the edge, he saw down to the street below where there was another flash of green and just as suddenly a figure stepped out, their silhouette half covered in shadows. His eyes widened, he was far away, so he couldn't be sure. But that lightning, the black-green tendrils that trailed the figure, it had to be...it couldn't be. He leapt ahead to the next building over making sure never to lose sight of the ground below, and then jumped down the side to stay out of the figure's line of vision. He silently thanked Hatsume for the upgrades to his gauntlets that rendered them way quieter than usual. As he peaked around the corner he saw the figure walk close to the sides of the building heading his direction. Suddenly their head came under a direct beam of light from a street lamp, and he felt his whole body freeze from the inside out.
The person in front of him, was unmistakably Deku. The teal jumpsuit, worn and disgustingly dirty and covered in various degrees of drying blood, his leg bracers ripped to shreds, those ridiculous bunny ears frayed, and those red shoes that he would recognize anywhere. It was Deku, but not Deku as he had named him, a useless person, incapable of doing anything, and not Deku as the boy himself had taken the meaning, a person capable of anything, full of unlimited promise. No this was Deku as in a doll, a mere foreboding vessel of power and purpose. There was nothing in those green eyes, glowing but soulless. It was Deku, but it was no longer the Deku he knew, and it definitely wasn't Midoriya Izuku.
"I know you're there. Although if you're not here to attack me, then what is your purpose?"
Bakugou flinched at the voice, momentarily having forgotten about "Danger sense", All Might had tried to explain before, but he'd been a little too preoccupied planning how to get around the security at UA to go after Deku to pay close attention to the details.
He figured to hell with it and stepped out into Deku's line of view.
"What the hell do you think I'm here for Deku?"
Now Deku froze, his head raising slightly. His voice came out quiet and hesitant, completely unfitting the ominous aura his appearance gave off.
"Kacchan? Is that really you?"
"Who the fuck else would it be?"
To his surprise Deku started approaching him again, the tendrils of black whip receding and the lightning dimming to nothing. When he was close enough he yanked his hood down, and Bakugou got an up close look at the grime and blood caked on his face, the sunken eyes and black bags of sleep deprivation.
"What the fuck happened to you Deku?"
The green haired boy seemed nearly ready to collapse, as if he was standing upright on sheer willpower and adrenaline alone. Bakugou fought the urge to grab him and throttle him, as fragile as he seemed at the moment, like a breathe would knock him over. Instead it was Deku who grabbed him by the arm as if he couldn't believe his eyes alone, and needed the physical confirmation of his presence.
"I'm glad you're okay. I was worried... after you, you know."
Bakugou felt his anger boil back to the surface.
"Worried about me?! What the fuck?! Worry about yourself for fucking once! Do you have any idea how upset everyone was when you took off after nearly dying, and then left only a fucking letter! How worried sick your mom is?! How scared your fucking shitty friends are?!"
He didn't realize he was shaking until he felt Deku's hand slide down his arm slightly.
"I'm sorry Kacchan, I know I should've talked to you in person. But I had to go, and if I had waited, you would have tried to stop me."
"DAMN RIGHT I WOULD HAVE!"
Silence.
"I told you not to do this shit on your own Deku, I told you not to play the hero on your own. Do you not think I'm strong enough to help you?! Are you actually fucking looking down on me this time?!"
"No, of course not! I told you I've never looked down on you. I just....I can't see you get hurt for me again. I can't risk anyone getting hurt again because of me, because I couldn't do anything to protect them....I can't let that happen! I have to do this on my own. OFA was given to me so I could-"
"You're such a fucking idiot. You think you can take down every fucking villain on your own? Take down AFO on your own?"
The little shit had the nerve to smile awkwardly at him, "I've managed fine so far."
Bakugou yanked his arm out of Deku's grasp, and gestured at his whole body.
"This! This is not fine! You're barely standing, you're covered in blood and you look like you haven't slept in weeks. When's the last time you fucking ate? You can't keep this up Deku, even in his prime All Might didn't handle shit like this. And I know I said some real shitty stuff in the past about you being quirkless, but you are more than just OFA's vessel. You were the one to fucking get that through my head.. that we are more than just our quirks. So what the hell?"
"I-"
"Just let me help you Deku."
"But Kacc-"
"Dammit! It took me years to understand that you genuinely wanted to help me not because you thought I was weak, but just because you're a natural born hero and you care about me or some shit. Just..just let me return the favor for once. You don't have to do this alone."
He turned his head away uncomfortably, suddenly acutely aware of how inept he was at expressing himself in these delicate situations.  How was he supposed to get through to Deku? Would this be enough? The nerd always seemed to be able to read him like a book, he hoped that proved to be the case now.
"Ka-"
He felt his eyes sting with unshed tears. He was running out of options, aside from pummeling the nerd into submission. But for once he wanted to chose a different option.
"Please Izuku." He lifted his gaze to meet his child hood friend's. A silent plea hanging in the air.
In the span of seconds that felt like an eternity they kept eye contact and Deku seemed like he was trying to find something in that contact, like a promise, or a confirmation, whatever it was, he finally sighed and lowered his gaze to the ground.
It was barely a whisper.
"Okay."
Bakugou let out a breath he didn't know he was holding.
"Can you walk nerd?" He extended his hand out to the green haired teen who took it right away. He tightened his grip immediately.
"Yeah, but I'm a little sleepy-"
Before Deku could finish, and without a word Bakugou yanked the other teen towards himself and lifted him up. The teen seemed surprisingly small and light in his arms, a far cry from the monstrous visage he painted when they first crossed paths several minutes ago.
As he walked down the blocks and could feel the tension leave Deku's body as his form went slack, he gazed down to see the nerd's eyes slowly closing, he must be exhausted. He kept walking down the vacant streets, on alert for any potential threats, the nerd's weight a comforting presence in his arms.  He assumed the other teen was already unconscious .
He briefly gazed up and saw the stars through the gaps between the building silhouettes, he thought back again to that time in the forest as kids.
He whispered in the dark, "It's okay now, ya' know why? Because I'm here so you're not lost anymore. Let's go back."
If he had looked down a second time he would have seen the subtle but content smile aimed at him. But all he heard was the small, "Thanks, Kacchan." before the teen fell asleep in his arms.

You Know What I'm Here For
For prompts?! Ngl this was low key threatening 😂
Platonic BkDk with some hero merch shenanigans! I got a little carried away.
“What are you...doing here, Kacchan?” Izuku says with wary eyes, narrowed as trails of bodies pass by on his left and right.
Katsuki stands in front of him, matching his wide stance, hands clenched into fists as a sneer slowly works its way onto his childhood friend’s face. The mall is packed this weekend even at the early hour. They aren’t the only ones with these plans, after all.
“You know what I’m here for, Deku.”
The words come low, ground out into a challenge between snarling teeth and heated palms. Izuku feels One for All pumping through his veins, a comforting heat begging to be called on. Izuku cocks his head to the side, feeling his own lips rise in response. His friends say his smile brings comfort—sunshine.
But not now.
Izuku takes a deep breath. “If you think you’ll beat me Kacchan...you have another thing coming. I’m always first.” Izuku takes a step forward. “Always.”
Katsuki follows suit, taking a step into Izuku’s space. They’re inches apart now, Katsuki looking down the bridge of his nose at Izuku. The air is charged, electric with their shared goal. Izuku looks down at his watch, a prickle at his nape from dropping Katsuki’s gaze.
“One minute, Kacchan.”
“I know, nerd.”
The silence is palpable even with the sounds of bodies rustling around them from where they stand off to the side of the main thoroughfare. No one pays them any mind as the seconds tick by, their breathing huffed in tandem. The summer air is warm but neither boy pays it much mind even if a trickle of sweat appears on both brows; whether it be from the effort of intimidation or not, neither can say.
3…
“I don’t lose, Deku.”
2…
“We both know that’s not true, Kacchan.”
1…
Katsuki growls viciously.
Beep!
Izuku’s watch sounds out loudly, two sets of eyes flinching with the alarm--and they’re off.
The legality of using his power and the selfish nature of doing so in a non-emergency setting is the only thing that has Izuku reining in his quirk as he shoves the blonde boy behind him as they sprint to the area both had mapped out in their heads months prior. Sneakers slap at marbled tile and bodies contort so as not to drag any innocent bystanders down in their furious movement through the crowd.
All too quickly the store nears, it’s rectangular arch a beacon to the boys. The signs out front sear themselves into Izuku’s corneas as elbows fly and teeth ache from the effort and desperation pumping through his body. His legs pump faster, faster he must be faster, as the feet between him and his desires dwindles to almost nothing.
“You won’t win, Deku!” Katsuki screams, the heads of the general public turning in surprise and disgust as the boys are nothing more than a blur in their periphery.
Izuku feels his nails catch on skin as he flails for dominance in their glorified race. Adrenaline has him on such a high that the look of horror on the employee’s face that greets them as they near their destination hardly registers. Izuku wants this, he’s waited so long--
“W-welcome to our an-annual event!”
Izuku can see it, can see the boxes in all their glory, shining white and gold and blue in their perfect pyramid stacks. He can feel tears in his eyes, his heart swelling with wonder and joy and the culmination of months of waiting ever since that magazine announced the Special Edition All Might figurine that now lies so close, just outside of his grasp--
He isn’t expecting the world to go dark as a hand, spread full palm clobbers his face, pushing him back so suddenly that his feet fly out in front of him. As if in slow motion, Izuku feels nothing beneath him, air his only buffer from cold, hard, tile. Then, time catches him with a vengeance. The air knocks out of him with a single whoosh and his ears ring as he tries to hold his head up from hitting the floor and yet he can’t miss the sound of triumph.
“HA! Yes! Loser! I won!”
Izuku slowly rises, rubbing at his already sore neck as he peers into the front of the store, Katsuki holding up their shared prize with such a look of supreme victory that it makes Izuku sick.
“Are...are you alright?”
Izuku looks up to see a hand outstretched, the wary but concerned face of the employee hovering over him. Izuku takes the help gratefully.
“Eh-heh, yea, fine thanks.”
Nothing hurt but my pride.
Suddenly Izuku realizes they aren’t alone, throngs of people seemingly coming from nowhere and piling into the store at a pace that surprises Izuku. Quickly he joins the masses, shoving his smaller stature between other bodies with as many polite ‘excuse me’s as he can manage
Finally, with sweat plastered to his forehead, Izuku makes his way to the round table that holds his prize, eyes bright with elation as his fingers curl and stretch, just a bit further, reach, reach!
Only for his fingers to curl around empty air.
The table is empty.
Izuku stills, his body jostled side to side as others’ quests come to the same sorry conclusion.
I...I missed them. They sold out before I could get one…
Izuku is mortified as he feels the tears come. Easily they roll down his cheeks yet he doesn’t blink them away, shock-widened eyes staring at a red table-cloth that wrinkles in mockery of what once covered its surface. Izuku sniffles.
“Oi.”
Izuku doesn’t look up. He’s too lost in misery. “I know Kacchan...you won.” His voice matches his shoulders that slump in defeat. He clenches his hands.
“Oi.”
This time Izuku does look, listlessness quickly being replaced by fury. What does Kacchan want? To gloat? To rub it in his face how yes he got there first, he got the thing they both wanted so badly--
Izuku must be dreaming.
Katsuki stands before him, blank expression carefully held on his face as he balances two All Might figurines in his palms.
“I saw you weren’t gonna make it so I grabbed an extra…” The tears roll even fatter down Izuku’s face. “Don’t make it weird!”
“Kacchan-” Izuku sniffles, “Kacchan did that for me?”
“Oh my god!”
Izuku barely reacts as the box is thrown at him, hands cradled to catch it as gently as possible. Izuku’s chest feels unbearably warm.
“Kacchan! These are collectable! Don’t throw!”
The wave of dismissal Izuku receives does nothing to dampen Izuku’s joy as he follows the blonde to the register.
“Yea, whatever. Don’t ever mention this again and don’t you dare tell your dumb friends,” Katsuki grounds out. Izuku just smiles.
“Yea, alright Kacchan.”
He still tells his mom.

Leak day is approaching, how we feeling?
I’ve had this bouncing around my drafts for a little while, a little idea that hooked itself into my mind. Who’s up for some BKDK Healing/Recovery Arc fluff??
I'm still deeply hoping for some slower, softer chapters to follow this VERY INTENSE war arc. I know a lot of ideas out there are operating under the concept of the boys healing TOGETHER in a hospital room, but like hear me out...
What if they start out at the hospital SEPERATELY and have to agonizingly wait until they’re better healed before they see each other? What if they can’t stand to wait any longer?
Spoilers for like...chapter 285 and beyond.
The nurses at the hospital had of course heard of Katsuki Bakugou, the boy who’d won the broadcasted UA Sports Festival. They had an inkling of the student’s more...aggressive tendencies. They steeled themselves for a potentially frustrating time managing and healing the reactive teenager.
The Doctors had done their best with his wounds in surgery as soon as he was admitted, got him stable with some much-needed blood transfusions, and sent him to rest and recover under the watch of a handful of night shift nurses. He was expected to wake sometime in the morning.
And yet, it was still the deep dark of night, when a tell-tale yell erupted from within the room with his name scribbled hastily onto the nameplate.
By the time the closest nurse turned the corner into the room, Katsuki was already pushing himself up with his good arm. Gritting his teeth, he swore aloud as stars popped in his blurry vision...but persisted in trying to lever himself out of bed. IV lines swung and tugged dangerously as he struggled.
The nurse rushed to the bedside as he tried to lean out the bed, but swayed from the vertigo. Pain exploded in his wounds, it felt like white hot coals had been dumped right into his gut and his left side.
“Young man, you need to lay down for now, your wounds..!”
“D-don’t tell me what to do!” Katsuki growled, in almost a feral state. Despite the drugs in his system, he was still in survival mode. His crimson eyes landed on her, still unfocused, delirious.
“Deku--Where...” He demanded again, voice cracking in desperation, still supported on one violently shaking arm. He squinted and blinked frantically; Why couldn’t he see straight??
The nurse grasped his good shoulder and eased the student back down into bed. Katsuki’s strong frame was resistant, but weakened by his injuries and lack of stamina. Even his willpower wavered with his consciousness.
“We can talk in the morning,” She assured in a calming voice. “But you need to sleep now, and stay put.”
Katsuki’s back connected again with the hospital bed, and it felt to him like it was grabbing him, keeping him there, and pulling him down into some dense fog. As his mind quickly began to drift, he wondered if the woman above him had some sort of sleep-aid Quirk. He blinked at the ceiling tiles and dimmed lights above, as the nurse adjusted his dosage, checked his IV, and logged notes on his condition. Another nurse hurried in, and they spoke quietly.
“What the hell...” Katsuki trailed off.
Both nurses flitted from the room, and Katsuki was alone in the darkness as it swallowed him.
“...De...ku...”
---
Katsuki didn’t have any idea how long it was that he was asleep. But as his eyes tried to flutter open again, they were met with soft light. And a silence that was almost jarring, after the battle, and after the frantic nightmares.
Nightmares...Aerial battles, explosions of green light...bursts of red....Black obsidian tendrils tearing through the air...
With a turn of his stomach, his eyes suddenly shot open, once again looking at a hospital room ceiling. Daylight was filtered out by thick curtains, and not far away, his parents seemed to have been keeping a vigil, each occupying a chair, leaning against each other in slumber.
His sight became a bit more focused and adjusted to the light, but his breathing intensified. He looked to his other side, and found he was in a private room. The door was shut at the moment; he was boxed in.
A flash of green energy played across his mind again....And a sick, charred hand that had reached out...
He felt a pain blossom in his abdomen as his breathing continued to spike.
He heard Deku’s yells in his mind again, and he once more felt the intense need to get up. His unrestricted hand clamped around the guards on the side of the bed, hoping for an anchor. Gritting his teeth against the fire in his gut, he tried to pull himself forward
“Hey...Hey!” He tried to yell, but it came out so hoarse, he growled and forced more of his pained breath into it. “Old hag!”
Mitsuki blinked awake, and jumped to see Katsuki staring back at her. Masaru awoke as well. and breathed a sigh of relief. Something twinkled in his son’s eyes that he was certain he’d never seen there before.
“Katsuki! Sit back down!! You’ll reopen your wounds!!” Mitsuki yells, surging to her feet.
“Don’t give a shit! Where the Hell is he?” Katsuki raged, once again pushing up with his good arm. His chest shuddered with hyperventilating breaths, and he felt as if it was threatening to tear him back apart. “Deku...Where’s Deku!”
“Deku?” His father asked, a bit confused.
“...Inko’s boy?” Mitsuki supplied, looking at Masaru as well. “Inko came to the hospital too, but...We haven’t seen her.”
“Dammit!!” Katsuki practically yelled, and tossed a venomous look towards the door. His fingers flexed with an overwhelming urge to blow the damn thing off its hinges. “What about All Might?? Or Half and Half, or fucking anyone who knows what the fuck’s going on?!”
“You settle the Hell down, brat, or I’ll make you!” Mitsuki loomed over him, a hand clamped tightly on the top of his head and forcing him back against his pillows. Katsuki glared at her, teeth bared and nostrils flaring, absolutely hating how weak he was to resist. “You’re damn lucky that whatever it was didn’t hit anything vital, but you almost bled out on the battlefield! You’re not going anywhere!! Don’t be a damn idiot!”
Katsuki tuned the rest of her words out. He was pretty sure she was turning to his father and going off on just how fucked this entire mission was, the insanity of putting teenagers who were clearly unprepared for the level of destruction that was involved...How none of them seemed to be properly informed of what the kids had been getting into.
They might have been discussing the prospect of Katsuki even going back to U.A. at this point, but he didn’t care. He couldn’t muster up a single iota of a crap to give over that right now.
He stared past his parents, at that damned door, waiting. Waiting with clenched fists, once again confined to laying against his uncomfortable pillows. His wounds were still too painful to move even if he wanted to. While somewhere out there...
Deku was somewhere out in that hospital, condition unknown. Red eyes glinted with moisture.
Come on.
Someone. Anyone. Come through that damn door...
He couldn’t believe how damn desperate he felt.
Tell me he’s safe.
---
Katsuki was loathe to comply with any procedures and check ups the nurses had to run on him for the days to follow. He grew more and more aggravated the longer it went on, the more they told him to wait. It was a developing situation, and there were so, so many civilians and Heroes in the hospital from that battle, the nurses didn’t have any time to prioritize seeking out any information on Izuku’s condition for him.
He crossed in and out of sleep all day and night. He couldn’t control it, between the pain and the meds, and even the sheer boredom of not having anything to do but agonize. He could only logically badger his parents so much concerning information he knew they didn’t have.
Sometimes sleep was a relief. A chance to pass time without thinking so deeply about everything.
Sometimes, it just gave him more nightmares and stress, and woke him with another hit of desperation to find closure for the battle he’d survived, confirmation that his best friends had made it out alive too.
News finally came when he woke up early in the next morning.
All Might appeared in the door way with eyes that seemed more cast in shadow than usual. Katsuki’s crimson eyes locked him and he immediately tried once more to pull himself up and forward. After the initial establishing conversation, All Might pleaded for privacy from his parents with a deep bow, and as they left the room, All Might drew himself back up. Blue eyes couldn’t quite meet Katuski’s.
“Start talking.” Katsuki grunted, and All Might pulled up a chair.
---
Izuku was lost in a long dream.
He was trying desperately to find the Vestiges again... He either couldn’t reach them, or...they were gone for good. He couldn’t quite remember, and the answer was so slippery it kept evading him.
Sometimes he would be minutely aware of what was going on around him in the physical world. Doctors. Nurses. Probes, needles, foreign hands.
Recovery Girl’s voice...Mom’s voice.
On the other hand, Nana’s voice. The First. Tomura Shigaraki. All For One.
He couldn’t quite grasp either side, and would be pulled once again into the dreams. It was as if he were stuck on a dizzying pendulum.
He gave in and floated for a while.
---
Hours passed, and little changed for Izuku. But as he seemed to surface back into the world, bits and pieces came back and fell into place in his mind. All of the things that had transpired. His slumbering mind could begin to process it, and make sense of it. Little by little.
By the time emerald eyes cracked open, Izuku had realized, he must have been asleep for quite some time. He had enough experience to recognize that he’d landed in the hospital, but felt powerless to assess how bad it was. He still felt hauntingly unattached to any of his limbs for the time being, no strength left to attempt to move them. He must have been heavily drugged by this point.
He wondered about Shigaraki, if he was also reduced to a quasi-sense of being, forced to lay low, let his mangled body regenerate. He prayed that the villain would be in such a phase for a while. Izuku knew there was no way he, or any of the heroes, could handle a rematch. Maybe not for quite a while, even.
A fleeting thought, however, as it was quickly overtaken by an urgent need to know the outcomes of so many....too many, of his friends, teachers and allies. Civilians, even. Aizawa, Gran Torino, Endeavour, all injured in battle. Shoto, his dear friend, and....
Kacchan.
The realization made a spike of anxiety lance through his chest like a knife.
Dear god, Kacchan. Was he...
“Ka...cchan--” Deku murmured, suddenly, feeling the tears pooling in his eyes. His poor mother, keeping a vigil by his side, leapt up and pressed a soft hand to his forehead, quivering voice crying with encouragement for her son.
“Mom, he...” Izuku whimpered, finally focusing on something for the first time, in his mother’s eyes. “Kacchan...The others...I couldn’t...”
As quickly as it had come, his resolve was gone, and his broken body wracked with sobs. His determination that had held him through the battle before losing consciousness, the rage, the adrenaline, was gone, and all that remained was the heartache that came from such destruction, from seeing his mentors and friends torn down one by one.
The image of blood suspended in air, and a shadow of a figure falling towards the Earth, stained his vision.
---
Days into Katsuki’s stay at the hospital, All Might visited again. The man still had so many new lines on his face, though he was heartened to see Katsuki, determined as he was, recovering and gaining focus quickly. Though with the focus, came that trademark, Bakugou impatience.
“He’s still in surgery!?” Katsuki yelled.
“More like, in and out of Surgery. They can only do so much at one time, even Recovery Girl could barely work with him, his stamina is almost non-existent right now...” All Might sighed. “And, there’s no shortage of other patients for her, unfortunately.” He said sadly, sipping a cup of tea with a white knuckled grip.
“That bad, huh.” Katsuki sneered, looking away from the man. Softly, he muttered, “Fuckin’ Deku.”
All Might smiled a deeply sad smile.
It had sounded spiteful, to the untrained ear, but by now, he could recognize how deep Katsuki’s concern really went.
---
One week after the incident at Jakku found Katsuki well enough to finally feel the cold tile beneath his bare feet again. Short walks were in order, as he was allowed to pace in his room every once in a while. The taste of regained autonomy was amazing, but he still felt the need to rest after very short walks, the wounds in his core still on the mend. Steps were small, and few, but Katsuki was feeling better for the improvement.
He leaned against the edge of his bed, muscles still stiff. Left arm in a sling, and right hand gently set on his stomach, he breathed deeply as he was able, assessing what his body was telling him.
He was gradually getting better, and the next goal was finally heading out that door. Fierce red eyes could have shattered the wood of the door, now left open just a crack. They couldn’t keep him in here forever.
---
“Good news,” All Might had told him, looking a little brighter. “They’ve moved Young Midoriya to the recovery ward. They’ve done everything they can for the boy, now all that’s left is to see how his limbs heal.”
Finally, Katsuki had thought. He was getting tired of waiting for the nerd to recover.
He scowled as he stalked out that door, and into the hospital hallway. His mended wounds still throbbed with each tender step, but the pain was becoming more and more dull everyday. He was itching to be able to get into physical therapy, and recuperate his body back into peak condition.
The ache in his shoulder gave him the most unease...His arms and shoulders needed to be up to taking the brunt of his Quirk. There was no time to lose in recovering those tissues, and he locked away any fears of never living up to his previous output, never being able to surpass it...He just couldn’t think of that right now.
Slippers scuffed against clean linoleum. Around the corner and nine doors down, All Might had said. He rounded the corner, and came, abruptly, to a stop, all inner thoughts ceasing. Crimson eyes had fallen on a figure ahead of him, and locked, his jaw dropping just slightly.
There before him, clearly in a state of dizziness, was Izuku himself. Of course, he seemed to be muttering to himself, staring intently at the name plates of each room he was passing.
Their eyes met.
His arms were bound up in thick casts once again, and in slings over his stomach, and bandages covered almost his entire torso in lieu of any shirt. Izuku stared back, large emerald eyes tired and glistening. He seemed to tremble at the sight of Katsuki, and the moisture in his eyes threatened to over flow.
“K-Kacchan,” He whimpered, blinking back the sudden tears, unable to wipe them away.
Katsuki's body suddenly unlocked, and he marched up on the other boy, as hard and as fast as his body would permit.
“What the fuck, Deku?!” Katsuki scolded. He planted a palm on the top of Izuku’s green head of hair, tilting his tear-stained face up to look at him. “Damn nerd, What the Hell are you doing out of bed?!”
“Kacchan,” Izuku sniffed, staring up into crimson eyes without an ounce of restraint on his emotions. “Y-you’re out of bed too...Are you okay?”
Katsuki twitched at the question, a reflex reaction now due to long years of rejection to the nerd’s selfless worries.
“Don’t you switch this around! I’m not the one who just got out of surgery!” Katsuki barked, ignorant to any stares from passersby they were drawing. “You shouldn’t be able to move, dammit!!”
“It’s okay, I mean, my legs feel totally fine!” Izuku argued weakly, even as his legs seemed to quiver just slightly beneath him. For the first time in the exchange, a hint of a dismissive, but pained grin tugged at his lips. There was still a very visible split on his bottom lip.
“That’s not the point, you--!!” Bakugou growled behind gritted teeth, fingers twitching impulsively under the messy nest of hair. How was he ever going to get through that thick skull of Deku’s??
“Please, Kacchan,” Izuku urged, “I know, I shouldn’t be out here yet, but I had to know for sure....that you were ok...I thought I’d really lost you...” He was beginning to choke on his words.
“They told you I was fine, so why go out of your damn way?! Why get outta bed when you can barely stand up straight, huh??” Katsuki retorted.
“I’m not explaining how much more it’d hurt if you were gone!” Izuku cried, and raised his head against Katsuki’s hand, cheeks flushed. He shook his head just gently, feeling a headache blossoming. “It’s not logical, I was...I was afraid, okay?! I have nightmares every time I close my eyes, telling me that Shigaraki kill-... took you away, or Todoroki wasn’t able to help you in time. It keeps replaying in my mind, and...And if it hadn’t been for me...”
He was gulping in air at this point, the words themselves seeming to scar him as he acknowledged their effect on him. Katsuki was unsurprised by the tears flowing anew, but something about the tremor in Izuku’s voice, shook him.
“I had to see you. And if my legs would work, then...There’s no way I could stop myself.” Although tired, his eyes glinted with that stubborn edge. It was the same, almost scared look of determination that had looked at him in the dark hallways of their first training exercise all those months ago...The first time they’d fought.
Wide crimson eyes held steady, and he noticed the shadows under the boy’s eyes, shadows of bruises that lingered against his freckles.
The hand that was on Izuku’s head suddenly shifted to the back of his head and he pulled gently, until Izuku’s forehead connected with Katsuki’s uninjured shoulder. Katsuki’s strong arm almost cradled him there in a half-embrace. A moment’s hesitation, and then his fingers curled around the deep, unruly green locks. Not to hurt, or threaten, never again...
“Idiot... Idiot. How the fuck do you think I feel?!” Katsuki muttered shakily against Izuku’s bowed head, his features furrowing. “Don’t you ever...fight like that again.” He bit his lip ferociously as it quivered, before any more words could spill out.
Izuku felt tense for a moment, adjusting to this strange new reality. In time, he eased, leaning into Katsuki’s offered shoulder, feeling the warmth of the arm curled around him. He felt a pang of guilt for being so overjoyed that Katsuki was here with him when so much had been lost...And another wave of surprise and contemplation as Katsuki’s words pinged around in his head. Even so, he dared to smile a broken smile into Katsuki’s shoulder, where no one in the world could see.
He only wished that his own hands were free so he could reciprocate the gentle gesture that was so exceedingly rare from the blonde, but so comforting.
Katsuki grimaced, but made no objection when tears began to soak the fabric of his shirt. The weight and the warmth of Izuku’s head against him was oddly comforting to him. A quivering sigh of relief escaped him, his cheek buried in green curls.
Reluctantly, the thought dawned on him; This is okay. Whatever this is...was worth the damn wait.
Turns out the wait was actually much, much longer than the time spent in the hospital.

*BONUS* owo
I DID happen to doodle the moment that really locked this into my mind and made me have to write this; I literally drew these at slow moments at work on receipt paper. (scanned a tad bit out of chrono. order though)
Tumblr media
ALSO A NOTE:
I happened to fixate on this idea of Kacchan always grabbing Deku by the head(there was a post with a lot of this floating around not too long ago) and I’m convinced it’s part of his own unique language. You may have noticed, I threw in the little detail of contrast with how his mother in fact does the same thing, but forcefully, and exerting dominance over her son. Kacchan uses it this time to communicate with Deku, but it ends up being more gentle and as a comfort.
YES PARELELLS.
If I ever have time and inclination, I would love to redo these little doodles, honestly = u =
ANYWAY thank  you if you’ve made it this far, I hope you liked :D

Why am I awake while you’re asleep? (bkdk playlist)
Tumblr media
Time: 1 hour and 1 minute.
Link: In the replies/ reblogged with link
This playlist is specific to the current manga hospital arc where Bakugou tries to get to Midoriya’s room with no regard for himself. (Honestly, I tried to reword that in a way it doesn’t come off incredibly bkdk but it just does.) This is intended to be listened through Bakugou’s perspective, however, music isn’t held by one thing, so let your mind go wild!
I would imagine that Bakugou is thinking a lot while he’s in hospital, waiting for good news on Midoriya and everyone else as he heals.
Song list, lyrics (the reason I chose them), and a little bit more notes below!
1. Talking to the Moon by Bruno Mars

16. Safe and Sound by Christian Leave
“So hold my hand, and love me true.” “So just stay right here, safe and sound.”
In the 9th song, Honey by Sad Cops, there is mentions of dad issues? And that kinda stands out to me in terms of relations to Deku and his father figures (Hisashi and All Might), and how Bakugou knows how both of them have impacted Izuku’s life (even if we as the audience do not) and my mind has been blown. Didn’t even make the whole connection ‘til now lol.
There isn’t really an order to this playlist. I tried to do a thing where it doesn’t seem to be the same type of voice as you go through, but I don’t think that’ll be a big change whether you shuffle or go down the list.
Yeah, this is how I’m coping.
I hope you enjoy the playlist!! I tried really hard to get this finished and done before Izuku wakes up and Katsuki finds out he’s awake. Oh, and! Depending on how their meeting/chat will go after that terrible last sight of each other, I might make another one. Yes, I am in a bkdk brainrot.

Warning: Major Character Death (?)
(Note: I hate sad endings. Keep that in mind.)
They were so close in the beginning...
Deku and katsuki have been growing apart. Deku’s working all the time, katsuki never sees him anymore— it’s almost as if he doesn’t want to be there. They never talk, never eat together, never go anywhere together, it’s all just work—they don’t even sleep together, Deku crashes at the office more often than not. Deku brushes it all off, says he really doesn’t have time for this conversation, they’ll talk later—
“Oh, will we? ‘Cause-“
“Yeah, sure, Kacchan, look, I really have to go-“
“Then maybe you shouldn’t fucking come back.” Katsuki’s angry, not really paying attention to the words coming out of his mouth. He regrets saying it almost immediately, clenches his jaw against the apology balanced on the edge of his tongue-
“Maybe I shouldn’t.” -only for it to dissipate and coat his throat in ashes. Deku’s still shoving clothes into his go bag, hasn’t looked up even once during the conversation. Like it doesn’t matter. Like their relationship and it’s impending end mean absolutely nothing to him. Katsuki stares, sinuses prickling, the room blurring just a little at the edges.
“do you... do you even love me anymore?” The question slips out before he can stop it. Dread drops heavily into his stomach, debris from the beating, breaking thing in his chest.
“...I’ll come by in the morning. Get my things.” Deku pauses, hesitates. Katsuki wants him to look up, to look at him. Just once. They’ve both always been so damn bad with words but they wear their hearts on their sleeves. If Deku would just look at him- “Bye.” Katsuki’s body goes cold. When Deku pushes past him, he does nothing. Stands on numb, shaky legs as the front door opens, shuts. No particular force behind it. No anger, no hesitation, just open and shut. It feels like a dismissal.
Suddenly, katsuki can’t be here anymore, in their shared space with the dozens of photos on the walls, the old worn out sofa with that weirdly shaped stain on the rightmost cushion, the out-of-place poster in the kitchen because katsuki isn’t good with surprises. The all might curtains in the living room because they’re both nerds, the football-sized Pomeranian plushy Deku got him because ‘it looks just like you’. That soap dispenser in the bathroom that looks kinda like a dick but Deku always says is an abstract cat. Their bed.
He stands in the door of their bedroom for a while, itching to leave but not wanting to run into Deku on his way out. What feels like hours later, he throws on a coat, grabs his keys, and rushes from the apartment like a culprit from a grisly crime scene.
He goes to Eijirou and Mina for the night. Their house is always open to him, a haven away from his empty home. He tries not to utilize it much, stubbornly denying his loneliness until the sleep deprivation starts to affect his work.
There’s a large scale villain attack the next day.
Number one hero Deku’s not there to answer the call. He and pro hero Shouto had left the country just that morning for a mission.
The villain has a metallurgy quirk that allows them to control and warp any magnetic metal within their vicinity. The greater the magnetism, the more control they have. They’ve been souped up on an unstable trigger knockoff, developed by an underground lab syndicate. As a result, their influence has expanded to a larger radius and to metals they wouldn’t typically be able to work with. Driven insane by the power, the villain is tearing apart the city of Fukuoka indiscriminately, tearing pipes up through the ground, supports from buildings, smashing cars into groups of civilians and using lampposts as oversized baseball bats. Smaller pieces of metal have become cannon balls, bullets. The civilian death toll is climbing, at least three heroes have been killed; the situation is horrific. Heroes from across Japan are called in to help.
Lemillion and his partner, Suneater, had been first to the scene, there when the perpetrator’s quirk spiraled out of control. They were rushed to the hospital before the roads had filled with flying debris and fleeing civilians. Gale is down for the count— the villain had used his quirk against him, sent hundreds of tiny projectiles to ride his wind and penetrate his skin. Creati managed to slow the villain’s trek across Fukuoka, distracting her with any number of non-metallic obstacles and distance-based weaponry. Unfortunately, the swirl of metal constantly rotating the villain thwarted any attempts at getting close. Plastic sedation bullets ricocheted off flying mufflers and mopeds. Ingenium had to rush in and grab her when she collapsed from exhaustion, narrowly avoiding a sharp piece of sheet metal, poised to slice them in half.
Dynamite arrives late alongside Pinky and Red Riot. He’d called in sick for the day, tired and numb, having spent the night staring at the wall of the Kirishimas’ guest bedroom. The couple had taken the day off, too, to keep an eye on Katsuki. None of them expected the urgent call from their superior, ordering them to Fukuoka /immediately/ to assist in taking down a level nine threat.
Dynamite goes into the fight determined to do the best he can, exhausted as he is, heartbroken and puffy eyed. He’s sloppy, reckless, pushes himself past his limits and then some. He’s shot with makeshift bullets, impaled with scraps, maimed by debris. He’s torn apart.
In the end, Dynamite wins the fight but Katsuki loses his life.
Izuku is watching the fight from Europe where he and Shouto have been temporarily commissioned. He feels helpless, guilty, even before Dynamite turns up on screen. Hasn’t been able to shake the heaviness in his chest since that morning, when he’d rushed to grab more of his things from their shared apartment before heading to the airport. The feeling only multiples when his husband appears on screen, builds from his stomach up to his throat. His chest hurts. He wishes he was there, he wishes he hadn’t left Kacchan like he had, with their relationship up in the air. They were going through a rough patch, and it’s not like he’d been trying to smooth it over at all. Katsuki was perfectly in his right to be angry, especially when Izuku repeatedly dismissed his concerns for the sake of work.
The Dynamite on screen was a mess, though it might not look like it to anyone else. Izuku knew his Kacchan, knew Dynamite, how he moved, how his attacks worked, the explicit precision behind his every maneuver. The Dynamite on screen was reckless and sloppy, throwing himself at the villain again and again. Izuku would swear that he could hear a sharp crunch the next time the villain grabs Dynamite with claws of sharp scrap metal and slams him into the ground.
Still, he blasts himself out of that crushing clutch, propels himself into the air, bleeding and bruised and so obviously broken despite the distance between the fight and the helicopter’s camera. Izuku wishes he could grab him, hold him down, tell him to ‘stop, already, dammit, you’re gonna die if you keep this up.’ But all he can do is watch as Dynamite once again throws himself at the villain, narrowly dodging her reaching, grabbing metal hands, to propel himself into the whirl of torn and splintered metal rotating around her.
He makes it through, disappears into the artificial twister. The circumference of the area he entered is dyed red, a skirt of blood and gore and proof that all the world watching may have just witnessed Dynamite getting shredded into bloody pulp. Izuku’s eyes water, the guilt and the helplessness and the love for his husband that could never fade, never in a million lifetimes, finally clog his throat. He can’t help it, though, the hope in his chest. He’s not dead. Katsuki is not dead.
The whirl of metal stops, suddenly. The scene on the television is completely still; he’d almost think the thing had frozen if not for the exclamations of the live reporter. And then it all falls, loudly, dramatically, a veritable ruckus that has almost everyone in the foreign office around him hurriedly blocking their ears. Izuku can’t move. Can’t breath. The camera zooms.
Dynamite stands over the prone body of the villain. He looks... horrific. Nightmarish. More blood and gore than body. The reporter gasps. The office around Izuku is silent.
Dynamite falls.
And Izuku goes cold.
No.
A winged hero, Blue Jay some part of him interjects, flies over, drops down to let the two medics they have in their arms tend to Dynamite. Uravity follows, hurriedly floating debris and pushing it to the side, making way for more medical personnel. Her movements are frantic.
Not like this.
They finally get the ambulance through, load dynamite in with practiced speed and, sirens wailing, take off across the screen. Blue jay kneels beside the still unconscious villain, grabs at Uravity’s arm to draw her distracted eyes away from a cause she can no longer do anything for.
Not like this, please.
Izuku takes the first flight he can find back to Japan, Shouto at his back. They’re off the flight the second it touches down, in a car not long after.
The hospital is a mess, handling an overload of casualties from the fight. So many civilians injured, so many heroes, too. It’s a struggle to break through bustling nurses and doctors and weeping families, but Izuku and Shouto get to the desk, are promptly sent back to the ER waiting room.
Hours pass, no one comes to talk to them. He and Shouto watch people come and go, watch doctors deliver the good, the bad, and the horrible. Finally, someone comes. Her jaw is clenched, her eyes wide but shuttered. She stares at them for a moment, Izuku and Shouto, and they stare back at her. When the tension reaches a boiling point, she takes a deep shuddering breath and, with a voice choked by grief, she says,
“I’m sorry.”
And Izuku’s world /shatters/.

Well, this ask is just a "feel-good-because-I'm-about-you-about-things-I-konw-you-like-and-I-love-it-people-talk-about-what-they-love-so-here-we-go." So the pairing: TodoMomo ! The fandom : BNHA ! And lastly, the character: Dabi ! :3
Tumblr media
Todomomo
When i started shipping them:When i watched Yaoyorozu Rising!
My thoughts on them: I think they have a very healthy relathionship with loads of romantic chemistry!I love the contrast between how Shouto generally treats other people(not necessarily rude but not really politen either)to how he treats Momo after Aizawa helps him(going out of his way to look after her by asking her if she was sick, his speech bubble getting wobbly in concern for her after she got knocked out during her fight with Kendou, etc)
What makes me happy about them:How Shouto went from dismissing her praise towards him(brushing off her 'you're amazing,Todoroki-san' by saying he got so many recs because of Endeavor)to working with her as a team and to praising her,how much they look up to eachother, how much they care about eachother(example:Momo looking at Shouto when Endeavor was in danger),Shouto reaching for Momo's hand when they were running away from the LOV'S hideout,Momo telling Shouto about her plan against Kendou, just their whole friendship. They trust and love eachother and that's literally canon. That love being romantic would just be the cherry on top
What makes me sad about them:Nothing!
Things done in fanfics that annoy me:I've said it before and i'll say it again:Shouto being a macho man who is possessive over Momo makes no sense! He's literally an abuse victim and as someone who is also that,i would never treat my partner like that!Plus Shouto being a romantic who is easily flustered but wants to make Momo happy is a gazillion times better and that's the tea!
Things i look for in fanfics:Fluff, soft Shouto and Momo + Todosibs friendship💜
My wishlist:A hug,an exchange of comforting words over their trauma,Shouto thinking of Momo as beautiful and them having fun together like the kids they are
Who i'd be happy with them ending up with,if not eachother:Shouto with Sero and Momo with Mina
My happily ever after for them:Them being top heroes who are happily married and loving parents to their kids
Bnha
Favorite character:Momo!
Least favorite character:M*tsuki. She reminds me of my birth mom
5 favorite ships(canon or non-canon):Todomomo,Huwumi,Reinkomight,Bakujirou and Momojirou!
Character i find most attractive:Miss Fuyumi💙
Character i would marry:Miss Fuyumi, spare hand in marriage?
Character i would be best friends with:Shinsou!
A random thought:Touya should have had pink hair
An unpopular opinion:I hate (character)bowl because SO MANY people don't understand that not everyone shares their love triangle obsession and tag every ship they used in their post
My Canon OTP:Yo x Tatami(their profiles say they're together and this pleases me greatly)
My Non-Canon OTP:Todomomo😌
Most badass character:Shouto my beloved
Most epic villain:Shiggyyyyy
Pairing i am not a fan of:Fuck bkdk all my homies hate bkdk
Character i feel the writers screwed up(in one way or another):Nejire👏deserves👏a👏bigger👏role
Favorite friendship:Shouto and Izuku! We love brothers!!
Character i most identify with:Bakugou.I have anger issues(but i'm working on them!),i was considered a prodigy as a kid which gave me self-esteem issues(i'm working on this too),our mom's are similar like i said and we both have fantastic and adorable friends(such as you uwu)
Character i wish i could be:Jirou,a punk rock princess💕
Dabi
How i feel about this character:My husband is a bitch and i like him SO MUCH
Any/all people i ship romantically with this character:Twice,Miruko and Makoto(my self-insert)!
My favorite non-romantic relathionship for this character:Him and Natsuo
My unpopular opinion of this character:He's not a smooth talker or hunk,my man is a mess
One thing i wish would happen/had happened with this character in canon:More info on his relathionship with Fuyumi
My favorite friendship for this character:Him and the rest of the LOV
My crossover ship:I can't think of any options that don't make me laugh bjgj

This fic was created as a pinch hit for the BKDK Katsuki Birthday Exchange 2020 as a gift to @kacchansass #bkdkbirthday
Happy Birthday, Kacchan
Summary: Izuku's trying to do something romantic for Katsukis birthday but Katsukis confused.
Fluff, reminiscing, BKDK, sexual situations.
A/N: Please bear with me, I had a small mishap where the cord to my laptop broke and I was unable to get my progress off of it before the battery died. I had to rewrite it from memory on my phone. The original will be posted when my new cord comes in.
*BKDK*
EDIT; I TOTALLY FORGOT. Minor movie spoilers. If you dont want to be spoilered, skip from Bakugou saying " That wasnt our first kiss..." and come back after the italics.
The sun filtered through the curtains, throwing highlights over dark green hair spilling across a black pillowcase. Bakugou Katsuki always made it his goal to wake up before his partner, claiming to like the peace and quiet, but in reality he liked watching the way Izukus nose wrinkled in his sleep. Today, his eyes were caught by his boyfriends freckles, he refused to admit it to anyone else, but to him they were like stars scattered across the sky.
His crimson eyes were soft as they glanced at the clock, growing wicked as he saw the time. The nerd had decided that they would start celebrating his birthday on the nineteenth, so they could have a whole day to themselves. He'd insisted that they be up no later than eight and it was now eight thirty. Katsuki leaned in, brushing a kiss over his boyfriends freckled cheek,, lips following his fingers as he brushed the wild fall of green behind Izukus ear.
" OI, DEKU!"
With a yelp and thud, the peaceful scene was ruined as Izuku flailed and fell in a tangled heap of blankets to the floor of their apartment. Some things never changed, and even after five years of being Pro-Heroes, and living together for four, he never failed to startled the shit out of his lover. Sometimes he wondered if Izuku had a blind spot where he was concerned, he was rarely taken by surprise by anyone else anymore. Blindspot or not, the ash blond would never get tired of the sight of his taller lover flailing like a fish. It served him right for having the audacity to be half a foot taller than him.
" What? Were we called? Kacchan why are you laughing..." Izuku was slowly trying to extricate himself from the blanket, sun warmed muscle dotted with freckles making an appearance as he untangled his arms. He would look like an oversized child as he stood, wrapped in their large quilt as he rubbed sleep crusted eyes, if it hadn't been for the scars that littered his body.
The birthday boy didn't bother answering, he just jerked his thumb at the clock, laughter dying out into a smirk as he watched bleary emerald eyes blink in confusion at the time then widen as coherent thought filtered in. He knew exactly when the light went on because those eyes widened in panic and his boyfriend launched himself towards the dresser, one foot trying to shake off the remainder of the blanket, like a puppy with a wet foot. Clothes launched themselves around the room as he dug through the drawers.
"Why didn't you wake me earlier? Get dressed, I hope we have enough time to do everything now, I tried to plan extra time in case we got distracted or called but..."
"Don't tell me what to do, I'm the birthday boy here, you better not forget that." With a cocky smirk, Katsuki tuned out his nerd as his words devolved into a mutter about time and plans, and the possibility of rain. The soon to be twenty-two year old had no idea what his boyfriend had planned for today, and of course he was fucking curious, but after the sheer disappointment on Dekus face the last time he'd ruined his own surprise, he hadn't even tried to dig. That didn't mean he wouldn't be an asshole. He made sure to stretch, loosening his muscles nice and slow before he started towards the closet to get dressed. He knew those deep green eyes were on him from the first crack of his neck, through the shoulder roll and into the lunge because the mumbled words had trailed into silence.
. " Aren't you getting dressed, De~Ku? We don't have much time right?" Katsuki said with a smirk before dropping his sleep pants and tugging on a pair of black jeans. He wasn't sure what was planned today, but with enough incentive he knew Deku would agree that birthday sex was in order today, as well as tomorrow. Their relationship may have evolved over the years, but they were both very physical people. They tested each other, got stronger and tested each other again, whether in their hero career or in the bedroom.
The blondes mind started to wander as he pulled his shirt over his head, only to have his thoughts interrupted by strong arms sliding around him, pulling him against his boyfriends hard chest. He tilted his head back, one pierced eyebrow raising at the taller male, the smile on Dekus scarred face was stupidly endearing.
" I never gave you your good morning kiss, Kacchan."
He was ready to roll his eyes- he didn't NEED a good morning kiss- when a large warm hand cupped his chin, tilting his head back into position for the taller man to press their lips together. He didn't need a good morning kiss, but he always wanted one. Stupid Deku always knew how to read him, even when he didn't want him to. The kiss should have been awkward, but they'd had years of practice, and their lips slotted together easily, the awkward position non withstanding. Even here, Katsuki was competitive, reaching up to fist a strong hand in his lovers green curls, taking control of the kiss. It was HIS birthday kiss after all, and he'd be the one in charge.
When they finally parted he licked his lips and pulled himself out of Dekus arms. He could feel himself going soft, warmth for his lover welling in his chest, and a smile tugging at his lips.
Bakugou Katsuki did not get soft when the sun was high in the sky. That was reserved solely for late nights and early mornings damnit.
" You're the one in the fucking hurry, get a shirt on and lets go." He knew Izuku was used to his swift mood changes, and the nerd was on some imaginary time crunch, so they should get going before he got even more time obsessed..
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The sun was even brighter outside, warming the otherwise chilly spring morning. It flickered through Izukus curls as Katsuki watched him from the passengers seat of their rarely used car. He had no idea where they were headed, so he spent the time watching his boyfriend take turns like a madman. From their personalities, most people would think Bakugou was the reckless driver, anyone who had ever been in a car with the heir of One for All could attest to the opposite. Deku drove his car the way he drove through life, with sheer controlled chaos... Katsuki wouldn't want him any other way
Bakugou Katsuki was in love with Izuku Midoriya. He had finally admitted it to himself after they had been dating for three years. He was just bad at showing it in any normal fashion. Thankfully, the nerd knew him well enough to realize that he wouldn't get many " I love yous" from the explosive ash blond. His contemplation of his boyfriends faults were interrupted by a question.
" Kacchan, what do you want for your birthday?"
Broad shouders shrugged as Katsuki tilted his head to the side. " It's a little late to be asking me that, don't you think Deku~" He smirked. " My birthdays tomorrow. Anyway, I think I told you what I wanted last time you asked,or did you forget, loser" The green haired man flushed crimson as he stopped the car in a parking lot. Katsuki knew he was thinking back to last week when he'd asked that question for the hundredth time while they had been in bed. The crimson eyed pro-heroes smirk widened as he remembered the event himself.
----
" What do you want for your birthday, Kacchan?" Izuku had been sprawled on top of his boyfriend, knowing the other loved using him as a human blanket. Katsuki had become sick of the question. He didn't need anything for his birthday, so he hadn't even bothered to open his eyes as he moved, smirking as he answered.
"I have everything I want here in my hands"
Izuku Midoriya, six foot seven of broad muscle, and bearer of One for All had let out a surprised, and very unmanly squeak when he felt strong hands grip his ass roughly.
------
" Yeah, you remember. so stop asking." the blush had said it all. He watched as Izukus brow wrinkled thoughtfully, smoothing out as he turned the car off. " We're at our first stop. Katsuki looked around unimpressed, the lot overlooked the river, but he didn't see anything special about it. There had to be something, or Izuku wouldn't have the excited look in his eye. He wouldn't be grabbing Katsukis hand and dragging him towards the water, wouldn't be fucking LEAPING OVER THE SIDE and dragging the other with him. When they landed- they were pro's and taking a fall like that was nothing-the irritable blond smacked his boyfriend in the back of the head. " Warn me next time! Now what the fuck is to special about this pla...." He paused as he looked around, red eyes narrowing as the broken shoreline brought up whisps of memory.
---
"...You are a fucking idiot."
A soaked form in green was slammed against the ground with a muffled thud, wet curls sticking to a pale, freckled face as lips pressed hungrily together, relief mixing with adrenaline- ,
The newly minted Ground Zero felt like he couldn't get enough air. He had felt his stomach drop when he had seen his rivals limp body tossed over the barrier toward the water below. They had been chasing this villain for hours, and Deku had been taken by surprise. Katsuki had incapacitated the man with an aggressive AP shot and dove after his partner. The rescue had led to...
------
"....You're a fucking sap." Katsuki could feel his face heat a little at the memory. It hadn't exactly been their most shining moment.
" Come on Kacchan, it was where we had our first kiss..." Izuku was smiling as he slid an arm around his waist. Katsuki shoved at his chest. " Because you almost died, and I was a dumb teenager... and it wasn't our first kiss." He looked up at his boyfriend with a shit eating grin. Izuku crossed his arms, flustered again.
"I don't remember that one, Kacchan...."
Katsuki did. Visions of a different shoreline flickered through his mind.
----
Bakugou had landed hard, both of his arms were broken, so his attempts to get up resulted in him flopping like a useless fish. The pain was making his vision fade in and out, hyperfocusing on a mop of green hair. He could feel the thrum of Izukus quirk under his skin as he dragged himself painfully towards his rival. Bakugo Katsuki had dreamed of being like All Might as a child... The man who always won to save everyone, but not like this. Not with a quirk that was not his own...Not when Izuku wouldn't stand beside him. Having his rival as a foil had become important at some point. He rolled to his side, trying to lift his arm, he knew he needed dna to give the quirk back, but he couldn't. He was too weak. " FUCK this shit. take your quirk back you shitty nerd." the explosive blonde could taste blood on his lips and before he could think through what his exhausted brain had suggested, he was suiting though to action and lifting himself with his abdominal s to awkwardly press his lips against Izukus, cracked bleeding lips meeting cracked and bleeding lips as he thought hard about how much he didn't want this god damn quirk. He would make it to the top with his own power, or it wouldn't mean a damn thing....He hoped it was enough, he couldn't keep conscious anymore and slid off of his rival, darkness taking him.
----
"Yeah, you were out like a light. Fine. he'rs the first kiss we BOTH remember. Why are we here"
Izuku looked sheepish. " I was hoping maybe we could kiss here again, without the near death experience?" The shorter male leaned into his boyfriends reach. " Kiss me, and lets get out of here..." He hated seeing the shuttered look in Izuku's eyes, but he had had nightmares about the incident that had gotten them together for years. He cursed internally, nails digging into his palms as Izuku kissed him softly and they made their way back up to the car. Katsuki punched the car, causing startled green eyes to fly up to his face. " Look...It's cute, but I don't like thinking about you dying." His nerd nodded, shoulders still tense and unsure as he spoke. "The next place we can walk to...so lets get some fresh air."
Katsuki preferred walking if he could,so he nodded and fell in next to his lover, shoulders growing tenser, and teeth gritting in anger as the silence continued. He finally reached out to grab Izukus hand, squeezing it tightly, though he wasn't looking at him. Deku better understand. Katsuki hated PDA with a passion, a kiss or two was fine but he didn't hold hands...unless he thought Izuku needed it. Even after four years of dating, he did it so rarely the public sometimes forgot that the Wonder Duo were a couple at all, something he knew weighed on Izukus mind. Katsuki didn't think that they needed to shout it from the mountaintops, but he was almost ready to, to keep his nerd happy.
The landscape was becoming more familiar as they walked, and Katsuki sighed as they moved past their childhood homes, and Izuku headed towards the school. He moved so he was walking slightly in front of Izuku and crossed his arms
" What is this, a trip down memory lane?" The chaotic being that was his boyfriend and hero partner just gave him a sweet, disarming smile, pulling out two passes into the school as he answered. " Something like that." The explosion user was a little surprised at how well planned this was...whatever it was. At this point he was along for the ride, so he followed his boyfriend out past the school proper, past the dorms where a new class was training to be heroes. They walked, following a path he hadn't seen in years to the mock up of a city, it didn't look any different than he remembered, the place having been repaired time after time. So much had happened here for them...
"I got permission from the school to rent it..."
"Ground Beta..." Ruby eyes met emeralds as they were assaulted by memories.
----
"Fight me Deku" His emotions were in turmoil. He wasn't strong enough, Izuku had been the one All Might had chosen, not him...and Katsuki had been the one to cause All Might to lose his quirk forever.
Izuku was the only one who could accept and receive those feelings, the only one who could come near him in a fight, and Izuku had still lost to him.
Why? Izuku was weak, but he had been chosen by All Might...Katsuki was weak because he had been taken, but Izuku was weaker than him. The fight had been charged with emotion on both sides, it had been a crux of them overcoming the past and becoming true rivals...and eventually friends and lovers.
----
Katsuki could see the light of challenge blooming in his boyfriends eyes, and he could feel adrenaline pumping up his spine. They moved like two predators, Pro-heros in their own right as they squared up a few feet apart. It felt familiar, the surrounding, the energy between them, but this time it was without the weight of confusion and sorrow. And the dialogue was different.
"Fight me, Kacchan" Izuku stood, feet apart, hand out in a come-at-me gesture as he waited for Katsuki to make a move. The explosive hero could feel small crackling explosions lighting his palm, as the excitement got the better of him. If this was what Izuku had planned for his birthday present then he fucking accepted. It had been far too long since they'd had a decent spar.
" Come at me, Deku"
Those were the last words spoken until the end of the bout, knowing each other as well as they did, fighting as partners for so long, they knew what the other would be doing intuitively. It was more like a deadly dance than a spar...or, if you were them, foreplay.
Moving on some unknown signal, Katsuki shot himself forward with barehanded explosions, pivoting midair to launch a kick at Deku's head. He felt air whoosh by under him as the taller man ducked and rolled under him, bringing his arm back around to block the retaliating blow. Each blow was met with a counter. The ash blond smirked as an air shot scored a line of blood across his cheek, exes glowing with excitement as he launched himself back to avoid his incredibly fast lover. Narrowed, alert eyes flickered over the battlefield looking for any weakness in his opponent. He saw it before Izuku. Something small tumbled out of Izukus pocket and the idiot dived for it instead of blocking. Katsuki took advantage of his mistake and pinned him face down against the asphalt. He leaned over his boyfriends prone body to whisper in his ear huskily. " I win...again."
He wouldn't have seen the small shiver that ran through the larger mans frame if he hadn't been looking for it. Katsuki was definitely ready for some birthday sex, and from the soft noise that escaped his partner when he ran his tongue over the selfsame ear he had just whispered into, so was Izuku.
So he was floored when his lover pulled away and whipped around, hand out, as if to keep a beast at bay.
Katsuki wanted to growl at getting denied, but the situation was so...stupid he snorted.
"What's wrong, Deku? We've done it in more public spaces and never gotten caught...and I know you wish I'd fucked you here back then..." He moved towards Izuku, gravelly voice seductive. Izuku took another step back.
"Kacchan this isn't what I came here for...I mean it is...but...not..." He was fiddling with the small box that had caused his loss in the first place, then stopped, back straightning. " You...said what you wanted for your birthday...was me right?" His eyes were pleading and Katsuki realized he wasn't just talking about for sex. He growled and looked away, shoulders tense and emotions riding high.
"Yeah....I mean. I already have you, you stupid Deku. You're mine." He reached out and took Izukus free hand, fingers lacing with his. He wanted to know what had the other so nervous. " What is that stupid box."
Katsuki Bakugou had never felt more like an idiot in his life when his boyfriend slid to one knee in front of him and opened the box that he'd been fiddling with.
The box that had plainly been a ring box the whole time.
"So...Yeah. I'm already yours, Kacc....Katsuki." The green haired giant stumbled over the words and shook his head. " Kacchan...So I can't give you anything but more of me...for the rest of our lives." The world seemed to hold it's breath as terrified green eyes met his and it hit him like a tidal wave what this whole day had been about. Izuku was proposing.
Well...Fuck.
The ring sitting in the casing was actually two rings. Two halves of a whole. -Just like them- They were about as manly as engagement rings got, tungstun steel bands with a single gem set in each band, one emerald, one ruby.
The blond didn't know how to process this. Of course he was going to marry the nerd, he'd just assumed he'd be the one asking. He could see his hesitation feeding that stupid insecurity his lover still carried and reached out his hand to snatch the box. He pried the rings apart and handed the one with the green gem out to Izuku with a slightly shaking hand.
"Youre supposed to put this ring on my goddamn finger right? Now give me your left hand Deku." He slid the ring onto his boyfriends left ring finger with a gentleness that belied his rough actions, and felt the slim band slide over his knuckle as Izuku followed suit. He pressed his forehead against Izukus, eyes meeting as a smile flickered across Katsukis lips, before eyes closed and their lips met.
"Happy Birthday, Kacchan"
Katsuki pulled away from the kiss with a snort.
" Shitty nerd getting yourself the better present for MY birthday" Katsuki crossed his arms cockily, the ring on his finger glinting in the afternoon sunlight. " I know I'm just that awesome." He ran his tongue over his lips. " But you did get me one thing I wanted..." The explosive heros arms moved to pull Izuku to his chest. " So I guess it's not too bad..." His hands slid down to squeeze his boyfr...fiances plump ass. " What do you say we celebrate this by giving me the other thing I wanted..." His smirk grew as he felt a twitch against his thigh, even as his boyfriends voice raised an octave. " HERE?"

31. “I’m yours, in every way you’ll have me.” with BakuDeku?
Title: Just Once (1/2)Fandom: BNHAPairing: Onesided BKDK, TDDKWords: 1,346AU: None/Aged UpGenre: Romance/AngstPrompt: “I’m yours, in every way you’ll have me.” Part 2. A/N: Hhhhh, I love me some angsty Bakugou feelings,,,,
Bakugou isn’t sure exactly when he and Midoriya become friends again. He’s been hurling insults at Midoriya since they were children, the malice behind them varying over the years. As a child, he’d meant no harm; his harsh words had been little more than a way to push the odd anger that welled up within him when complimented by Midoriya out of his system. Then he’d grown older and angrier, and he’d started to spit disparaging words at Midoriya with intentional venom and barbs. He’d wanted to hurt the boy and he knew he’d succeeded at times (a fact he wasn’t proud of).
It wasn’t until his third and final year at Yuuei that he finally understood why Midoriya drove him so crazy. The realization had come quickly, practically smacking him in the face with the obviousness of it. Midoriya had walked into a classroom hand-in-hand with Todoroki, and Bakugou’s heart had exploded. He’d jolted in his seat, gripping the wooden desk tightly in both of his hands as he tried his best to keep from loosing his composure, and then he’d realized.
Soon after that, his harsh insults had lost most of their bite. Midoriya had noticed almost immediately, and before Bakugou could realize what was happening he was twenty-four and they’d moved from bitter enemies to indifferent acquaintances to friends to best friends. Midoriya had latched onto Bakugou with all of his burning intensity, manhandling his way into Bakuguo’s locked-up heart and taking it hostage in his scarred hands.
And Bakugou loved it, as much as he loathed to admit it to himself. He loved being Midoriya’s best friend even though it caused him to fall even more deeply and hopelessly in love with him than he’d already been. Day in and day out he got to see Midoriya’s sunny smile and hear his warm laughter–not to mention getting to fight side-by-side with him as All Might’s sidekicks. The fact that Midoriya was willing to forgive him for all that he’d done in the past was more than Bakugou knew he deserved, but being his closest friend? It was as if he’d been given a second chance at happiness–not that he’d ever tell Midoriya that. Damn nerd cried enough as it was.
The only problem?
Todoroki Shouto.
In many ways, Bakugou appreciated Todoroki. He was an excellent fighter and an incredibly diligent Hero, and for that Bakugou admired him. But he was also Midoriya’s boyfriend of six years, and the two were completely and sickeningly in love with each other. This, Bakugou supposed, was his punishment; he knew there had to be a catch when he and Midoriya started to grow closer to each other once again, and there had. In order to be friends with Midoriya, Bakugou would have to endure relationship talk and mushy-gushy stories and disgusting public displays of affection.
And as much as Bakugou told himself it didn’t bother him, reminded himself that he didn’t get to be jealous or angry that Midoriya was with someone else after all he’d put him through, it still ached. It felt as if there was a part of him missing, a gaping wound in his chest that could only be healed by the press Midoriya’s lips against his. Bakugou was fairly certain that Todoroki was aware of his feelings, but there seemed to be a silent agreement between the two never to mention it. To do so would put Midoriya in an impossible position and do immeasurable harm to him; something neither of them wanted, seeing as they were both desperately in love with him.
So, Bakugou did his best to keep quiet. I don’t deserve him, he reminded himself when he saw Midoriya smile brightly up at him after a relatively calm night patrol. I’m lucky enough he’s willing to look at me like that in the first place.
“Hey, Kacchan?” Midoriya asked, snapping Bakugou out of his thoughts.
“Yeah?” Came Bakugou’s gruff voice in reply, forcing his eyes off of Midoriya’s frustratingly handsome face.
“I wanted to ask if you’d, um, do me a favor,” said Midoriya sheepishly, his cheeks suddenly pink and his eyes turned toward the ground.
You know I will, idiot. I’d do anything for you, was the response that jumped immediately to Bakugou’s mouth, which he repressed. “The fuck do I look like, an errand boy?”
Midoriya laughed and held the locker room door open for Bakugou. “You did that time you went halfway across the city just to find my favorite soup after I got sick,” he replied, and laughed harder when Bakugou shot him a murderous glare. “No, but really–I wanted to ask you something important,” he said, sobering and becoming sheepish once again.
Bakugou quirked a brow. It was rare for Midoriya to act so shy around him. “Well, what are you waiting for? Spit it out!”
Midoriya shifted his weight from his left foot to his right and then smiled shyly up at his friend. “Um, Todoroki asked me to–to, um, marry him last night,” he replied, failing miserably at containing an ecstatic smile.
If Bakugou hadn’t gone completely numb, he would have been surprised that Midoriya had the control to wait until after their patrol to share the news. Being as it was, he’d frozen with his hands on the hem of his shirt, trying to process what he’d heard. This was inevitable–he’d known it from the start. Midoriya and Todoroki were in love, had been for a long time. They were either going to break up or be together forever. Bakugou knew he was twisted for wishing it was the former.
Still, Bakugou was a master at pushing his feelings aside for Midoriya’s sake. This was certainly his hardest hit yet, but he managed to swallow the pain down and carry on with his movements despite the numbness in his hands.
“I’m guessing you said yes?” Bakugou asked, thankful that his voice still sounded normal despite his turmoil.
Midoriya laughed. “Of course,” he replied. “And I know this is really early and we haven’t even set a date yet or anything, but I figured since I was going to tell you about it anyway, I might as well ask you at the same time, so–”
“God, Deku, fuckin’ spit it out!” Bakugou huffed, immediately cursing himself for being so irritable at a time when Midoriya was so brilliantly happy.
Luckily for him, Midoriya wasn’t at all put off by Bakugou’s harsh outburst, seeming to chalk it up to his usual abrasive behavior. “I want you to be the best man at my wedding!” He exclaimed excitedly, his smile splitting his handsome face in half.
Once again, Bakugou stalled. This time, instead of waiting for a response, Midoriya took that as his cue to speak more.
“Kacchan, I know you don’t like big long emotional speeches–or short ones, or any emotional speeches, really–but I-I want to say this. I’ve known you for most of my life, and I hope I know you for the rest of it, s-so I really want you to do more than just be there that day, if you’re willing. You’re my closest friend.” Midoriya sniffled, ducking his head to wipe the beginnings of tears from his gorgeous green eyes.
And you’re mine, screamed Bakugou’s heart. You’re my everything.
“Damn it, Deku, don’t get all sappy. I’ll be your fuckin’ best man or whatever,” he huffed.
“R-Really?” Midoriya asked, smiling cheerfully.
“What the fuck did I just say?!” Bakugou snapped, while on his tongue sat the words he knew he had no choice but to leave unsaid. Of course I will, idiot. I’d do anything for you, you dumbass. I’m yours, in every way you’ll have me. Even if I only ever get to be your friend, even if I have to suck it up and watch you marry the Half and Half bastard.
Midoriya laughed, tears of joy still sitting in the corners of his eyes, and pulled Bakugou into a tight embrace before the taller man could protest. Slowly, selfishly, Bakugou let himself wrap his arms around Midoriya’s frame.
Just this once, he reminded himself. I’ll give myself this.
