I want more ladies to feel confident with their standards and not doubt that it's them or something they can change about themselves to attract someone else. if you show up as your whole self and it's not received, then that's OK. go where you are received openly and with love ❤️

fandoms are not slick at all with their hatred of Black women, especially when it comes to shipping. y’all can’t stand to see an unambiguous Black girl as the love interest/object of desire of a popular male character and every single Black person sees right through your “she’s queer actually!!” attempts at tossing her with a random boring white femme character so she doesn’t get in the way of your white mlm ship or self-insert pairing (or falsely claiming she’s asexual/aromantic because you don’t want to see Black women being desired).
stop with your attempts to erase Black women who love men and are loved and desired by men. it still counts as an insidious form of misogynoir.

I do not do New Years Resolutions anymore. Je ne peux pas! But I have a word for the New Year - I N T E N T I O N!!
Everything I have been doing has been done with intention but going forward, it's all intentionally intentional.
Tumblr media
I have learned so much this year when it comes being intentional about what I allow to consume my mind and space, who I allow in my personal space (all of my personal spaces are intimate to me), what I share with coworkers, family members, friends, and on my social media, etc. Our spaces and time are so precious, so be weary of who and what you allow to breathe your same air and consume your livelihood. I know that seems a bit extreme, but as women with hearts who care, it's almost impossible to not get attached to people and things that are around us.
According to our BFF Google, to do something intentionally means it is being done on purpose or deliberately.
I know I have suffered the lost of loved ones and have come to understand that NO ONE knows their final days. That being said, if their is such uncertainty in our lifelines, why not do things with a purpose, whether the purpose is self-fulfilling or helping others - to move through life without meaning or intention is crazy!
Now that I'm done with the gloomy part about how are days are limited, lets get to the part that matters:
1). I think New Years resolutions are a fad
(an intense and widely shared enthusiasm for something, especially one that is short-lived and without basis in the object's qualities; a craze). It's just a thing people do because the year changes. Moving with intention doesn't have to be started when the hand on the clock strikes midnight.
Tumblr media
I'd prefer to think of intentionality as a mindset: again, that everything you are doing in life has a purpose - whether it's working out and eating healthy to look good and live a healthier life, or only going to certain types of events because the caliber of people you'll meet there you happen to fancy more, wink wink.
2). As a woman (I am speaking for the heterosexual ladies),
we need to be intentional about the men we allow around us. Dating to marry, dating for fun, or just enjoying someone's company - make sure you can answer the question as to why this person is in your presence. Although the three reasons why I listed for a man to be around you may not be the only reasons why a man may be around, it is important to realize that whether it's for longevity or fun, this is a person who will be taking up time that could be use towards something else in your life. There's nothing wrong with sharing time with a man, but if it's meaningless and there's no value there - cut ties, expeditiously!
Tumblr media
3). Another tip for the girlies, who are the girls you call you "gals"?
There is a saying, "not all skin folk is kin folk" meaning just because someone looks like you, talks like you, or may appear to be your friend, they may not be your friend.
Tumblr media
Be super intentional with women you decide to let in your personal spaces, because those same women could actually be praying on your downfall. Sometimes it's not that dramatic and could be as simple as someone just being draining. And again, this is time being pulled away from you to always be a shoulder to cry on - when the same courtesy may not be extended to you.
4). Intentionally bring God back in to your life.
This is technically number one; this statement was just placed here. But seriously, when people ask me how am I so positive and optimistic, I always tell them I am a Christian and super spiritual. I run them through my daily morning routine of prayer, reading the Bible followed by journaling while listening to Christian music. I will never say I am the perfect Christian but I will say over the last few months of intentionally putting God first in my life - and not just saying that but implementing new practices - I have seen a huge difference in how I see every challenge in life and propel through it. So whatever you believe in - bring it closer to you and implement those practices daily.
5.) Stop oversharing on social media! I'm not going to spend a plethora of vocabulary on this. The girls that get it - do!
I feel like I was chin checked by God and life so much last year. But I also think that's God's way of humbling us and I am more than thankful. Last year I learned how to pray with intention and to pay attention to sign and visions God sends our way. I also learned that with praying with intention, we may not see it immediately, but God is doing a million and one things on our behalf and we'll never know it. Along with bringing challenges to help strengthen that new found faith because I went through it chilllllle. But I am here even stronger, more beautiful, more feminine, smarter and even more alluring and mysterious than I was before.
Tumblr media
But to the girlies who get - and even the ones who don't, do yourself a favor if you have not already, find a purpose in everything you do in life and do it beautifully.
Happy New Year by the way, bisou xoxo
With Love
