Apparently Rogue's character is "ruined" for being interested in Magneto and for not lovin' Gambit the "right" way while he also has previous love interests and an ex-wife in XTAS *blocks and side-eyes blogs like remylebeaugambit* Makes me embarrassed to be a Remy fan rn.

If so-called Rogue fans are so uncomfortable with legal adult Rogue being attracted to Magneto in various media , maybe they should read a Kitty Pryde comic instead or stick to just watching that (actually pretty good ngl) high school AU that is X-Men: Evolution.

Heck, even Sid the sloth from the Ice Age movies gets less slack for dating the much older Brooke who also got magically de-aged just like Magneto. And nobody's saying that Sid is a victim and Brooke is a groomer because the Ice Age fandom is more normal than Rogneto antis and so-called fans of Rogue and Gambit's characters.

Agreed and well met, Traveler! I loved X-Men: Evolution as well. I'm fine with characters having many ships. I'm fond of calling it an armada. :) And my own personal cry is: Monogamy? In this economy?!

I agree with you: the age discourse is just awful. It's so upsetting to me. It's the most basic, reductive, simplistic argument. You can count the years but you add no value or depth to them.

It's not about Rogue being ruined it is about Rogue being ruined for *them*. Reading literacy and comprehension as well as looking at texts dialectically (at the least) is on the wane. You couple this with a strange "purity of concept" that seems to permeate our media, and we get this issue.

If you like a character, then that character is a statement on *you*, *your integrity*, *your morals*, *your ability* to be right. Therefore Rogue doing something against the perceived norm of the story (a story with low stakes, mind. We're less comfortable living in a state of unknowing even more these days) is not only an insult to Remy, but it is also an insult to them, their viewership, their expectations of the character, and ultimately a reflection of themselves.

We see then the knee-jerk reaction to distance, define, and denigrate. Suddenly, we're as obsessed with purity of character and dictating their "best practice" motives. They have to find a way to explain away the fault. Sometimes it's pushed back on the writers (especially if the writer is female...thinking Rebecca Sugar here and the SU writing pool) but often (especially for female presenting characters) the blame is shifted on a literal thought concept. It's insane!

X-Men is a soap opera with powers. Also, the most important thing to remember in my book is the main core of it: the X-Men are people. Not gods (sorry Krakoan Magneto, still love you, baby) but human beings who wish to coexist with you.

I’ve always like the idea of some of the straw hats being related correlated with one of the 7 deadly sins:

Pride - Ussop

Envy - Robin

Wrath - Frankie

Lust - Sanji

Gluttony - Luffy

Greed - Nami

Sloth - Zoro

Plus the idea of Pride not being the leader but Gluttony is kinda funny.

Another idea bloomed of once Luffy becomes a God, the StrawHats soon follow, not as powerful, but powerful enough and each having their own ‘God of’ thing in the list above. Brooke would probably be God of Death and Chopper would be God of the Wild.

Also the idea of one of the StrawHats getting captured and toying with the captor while they patiently wait for their family to come find them. They could 100% escape if they wanted to withhold a snap, but this is more fun.

FC5 Anniversary Gift Exchange ‘23 Part 1/2

I got @yokobai for the Far Cry 5 Exchange event!!! I was so excited to learn about your beautiful ocs, and I was inspired by the commission you had received for Brooke’s confession, so I wrote a little piece for it. I hope you like it! (A little nsfw with mention of knives.) Thank you so much @detectivelokis for putting this together, it was so much fun!!!

There was something eerily comforting about this room for John—whether it was the way it felt as if the outside was worlds away or if just the work done there soothed him. It was hard to say. And as he hummed to himself, strolling through as he admired the clean knife between his tattooed fingers, he couldn’t help the smile that spread across his face at the reason why he seemed eager for the confession he was about to receive.

She, of course, didn’t see it as he walked so slowly from behind her.

There was a high-pitched creaking that echoed off the solid walls, metal on metal rubbing together as she swayed ever so slightly—tiptoeing the ground as she hung there, waiting. John continued to take his time as she moved, the handcuffs digging into her wrist as she hung from the chained hook attached to the ceiling. John was very thorough when his confession room was put together and made sure that he had all the essential tools he would ever need to help the lost souls reach Atonement and reach the Gates of Eden. There was little, if nothing, John wouldn’t do to obtain that. And it filled him with something warm, something almost ravish, as the sight of her waiting for her turn—a confession she had willingly sought him for.

Brooke just watched him.

Her green eyes almost glowed with the lights that painted the room in a warm, almost red glow. So fitting for the process he had told himself on multiple occasions, more often than not when his hands held another shade of red. But John took his time as he approached his workbench, making a show of organizing tools that were already thoroughly cleaned and laid out, he had made sure of such. Nothing but the best for her, not when she was so Faithful, not when she was so devoted. To the Project. To Joseph. To him.

Finally, with that thought in mind, he turned towards her. She was beautiful—no, she was more than that. She was divine. All was bare to him, save for the black underwear, and he didn’t even hide the way his eyes roamed—appreciating more than just the canvas she offered so that she would forever carry her sin. No, there was always something quite alluring to the woman handcuffed and hanging for him, something that always seemed borderline bewitching that he couldn’t quite see himself walking completely away from it. The power he held was starting to get to his head, making him dizzy and drunk off it, so he cleared his throat and offered a small smile. Something he had hoped seemed reassuring and placating as he found the perfect spot. He could already see the words etched there, his hands working across her.

“Are you ready to confess?” he asked, his voice coming out huskier—heavier—than he intended but he didn’t quite mind as she shivered. The metal moaned in protest.

“Yes.” she answered. Firmly, straightforward, doubtless. Because Brooke believed. Because Brooke was committed. Because Brooke was starting to imagine those hands on her too.

At that, John smiled. John, who was the Baptist, who helped the followers become closer to God, smiled his devil smile as he stepped so close to her and carefully, lifted her legs up and up…until they rested on his hips. Instinctively, Brooke wrapped them around, hooking her feet together as John gripped her hips—almost painfully. “Stay right there. And tell me, Brooke, what is your sin?”

“Sloth.” She breathed and John was so close, he could feel the heat of it and he couldn’t quite manage the urge that had those fingers digging into the meat of her hips. Bruises would form, evidence of his own sin, but he could atone for that later, and he a had plan forming for that as he continued.

“How long has it been since your last confession?” he mused, the sacred words falling from his tongue as if they belonged to him—as if he had more right than any holy man before him. “Maybe a bit too long?” He watched with such intensity as she swallowed, his eyes following every movement of it, and it took her a few seconds too long to realize he expected her answer—that magic word that drove him forward.

“Yes.” She breathed and he found a thrill in the way her breath caught, barely audible but he made sure that no detail escaped him. He would savor this for as long as he could, as long as he could hold out, of course. John knew he couldn’t rush perfection, but the urge was there—he wanted to devour.

John clicked his tongue in mock disappointment, his blue eyes taking a darker shade as he offered a grin—showing her the wolf inside—and leaned in to whisper to her like a lover would. “Tell me about your sin, Ms. Greenwish.” The tip of his blade pressed against her skin, the perfect spot just between her hip and naval, and he already couldn’t wait to admire his handiwork once it was over. He wanted it just like this, easy to access and intimate, any way to be close to her with her legs wrapped so lewdly around him. There wasn’t an inch of her that he didn’t want to explore, to claim, and he gave one last smile to her. “Let’s begin, shall we?”

And the blade cut deep as her offering fell from her lips.

“What’s up my mammals? This is Sid the sloth from the movie Ice Age. And we're about to do this new dance: the Continental Drift.”

Lights flash everywhere, and you see crash and eddie singing send me on my way along with diego and buck, while sid, gutt, manny, ellie, and peaches are doing the sid shuffle. Everyone in the crowd is going wild and Crying. Then if things couldn’t get any better, Shira and Brooke walk onto stage and kiss, holding the gay flag.

Plushies Unaek would get for the Strawhats (and why)

Unaek loves getting gifts for her friends, and even if it's not necessarily something they would use, she gets them gifts based off of how much she associates it with them or thinks they'd enjoy it. She really puts a lot of thought into her gifts, even if it seems childish. She never got too many toys as a kid, so she wants to make sure all her friends have that chance.

Little Mina!

Art

Mina sees Ratau as a father figure but is too self conscious to admit that to him. The nature of the relationship, him grooming her to take his place a leader of the cult of TOWW, makes her believe Ratau only cares about serving TOWW. She was relatively young when she was bequeath the red crown and relied primarily on Ratau's care and guidance at the time. Mina also sees TOWW a parental figure albeit, an authoritarian one. This changes as she grows though, and she begins seeing him as overbearing and manipulative.

Design

Design wise I was refercing Wooloo in the beginning. The colors almost matched so, why not. I always knew that I wanted my sheep to have long locs so I looked up irl sheep breeds that grew long, loc-like wool. I settled on the Lincoln longwool. The hair-skirt was inspired by that lady sloth, brooke, from Ice Age collision course. I really like the idea but later dropped it when I realized I didn't want to constantly draw it lol. My personal headcanon is that the reason Mina's locs look so nice a small child is because Ratau was styling them. He thought she looked precious with a little ringlet skirt.

The Crown

The red crown going from two prongs to three was my way of showing Mina developing her own connection with Red crown. The crown becoming more personalized to her. Like a magical girl power awakening moment...

The Scythe

Realistically, a small child wielding a weapon, of any kind, is more dangerous to themselves than anything. But I imagine Ratau taught her how to use a staff and she was able to correlate it with the scythe.

Ephrem was born in Syria of poor parents during the reign of Emperor Constantine the Great. 9. If you could eat any devil fruit, which one would you eat (and why)?

I'd honestly rather not eat one because swimming is the only form of exercise I allow myself to conduct in other than weightlifting and I am WAY TOO LAZY to pick that up again (all though I should). But for the sake of the ask.......

Maybe the Sube Sube no Mi (Alvida's fruit). I have pretty mild(?) body dysphoria and would like to think that this fruit would give me back some self confidence but I realize how vain and unhealthy that it... though just a thought

The Hana Hana no Mi also because - as aforementioned - I am of the sloth persuasion and anything to increase my laziness is always welcome. Plus I can crochet, knit, cross stitch, sew, draw, write, clean, cook, whittle, teach and feed my million dogs so much faster. I could even cut my own hair straight without a dozen mirrors. It's just such an efficient fruit. I have so many WIPs rn that have been on hold for nearly a decade. This fruit would help so much, and I think if I cloned myself and ran just ONE mile, the calories would triple and maybe I'd get healthier faster (Just using the fruit and making extra limbs I think burns a lot of calories which is why one of my headcanons is that Robin eats just as much as Zoro and Usopp, she just has impeccable dining etiquette). Frightening how that also was related to my body.

Only other fruit I can imagine giving up swimming for is any flying Zoan type. Maybe Karasu's? It allows him (and his clothes???) to turn into a murder of crows. How fucking badass is that shit???

10. If you could join one crew or organization, which would it be?

Okay so Kid Pirates I wanted to think about this seriously Kid Pirates and mull over all the possible groups out there Kid Pirates. I'd love to be a KID pirate because I love the sea and boats (hate the sun and sand though so..... dono how that will work). Don't want to be a marine, I didn't join the Air Force for a reason. That reason would have been tenfold in canonverse. I don't delve into politics to Revos not an option. I hate money and power so never a celestial, I'd rather be like Dadan and live on a mountain with a bunch of chickens and be done with it.

Aesthetically, I think I'd fit in with Kid Pirates either the Beast pirates or Hawkins crew. Attitude wise, I think I'd fare well in Buggy's company tho while I do enjoy the Kid Pirates circus and clowns, I don't think I would be able to contribute to the crew; I don't perform. At all. Maybe I'll just be Kid Pirate there to feed Richie iuno... I'll cook egg rolls every day~

Honestly Kid Pirates, without Brook Kid Pirates, I think I would hate being in the Straw Hat crew. Being around Sanji and Franky would probably piss me off to no end. I love Kid Pirates them as characters but for the love of all things good, I never want to meet either of them in RL. Usopp and Zoro I can handle (I have a Zoro in my life, he's a pain but fine) but the only ones to keep me sane would be Kid Pirates Usopp and Brook.

I think I'll just pick Kid Pirates Dadan and live on a mountain.

My name is Margaret

but I'm Maggie, Magz or Bubbles to most people.

I’m a 38 year old mom of 4 from Ohio.

I have 4 biological children.

I am a birth mother too which means I carried a child for an awesome couple who couldn't have children.

I am a free spirit!

My 13 year old is a cancer survivor. He had Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and almost died. I thank GOD every day that he is here and we have a chance to see him grow and become the awesome human that he is.

My children have ADHD and the boys have O.D.D. so it can make for some “fun” days. lol

I love my babies! They are my world.

I enjoy writing poetry, cooking, drawing, hanging out with my family, playing video games, reading, and trying new things.

Some weird things I collect include stickers, unicorns, and candles, and washi tape.

I love to skateboard.

Bam Margera, Bucky Lasek and Tony Hawk are my favorite pro boarders.

My favorite wrestlers include Jeff Hardy, Edge, Rey Mysterio and Cody Rhodes.

I like sloths, the platypus, orcas and turtles.

I make lists to keep me organized

I like to watch shows like The Flash, Supernatural, Law & Order SVU, Law & Order Organized Crime, WWE Raw, Tanked, Blue Bloods, The Chase, Wheel of Fortune, and Family Feud.

My favorite holiday is Halloween.

I love anything to do with the Paranormal and supernatural.

My favorite colors are black, red and purple.

I’m a huge Adam Sandler fan.

My favorite movies include (but not limited to) The WaterBoy, Happy Gilmore, Grown Ups 2, The Crow, Fast & Furious Franchise, The Scream Franchise, Central Intelligence, Night School, Jurassic World Series, 10 Things I Hate About You, Sweet Home Alabama, The Notebook, Mama Mia, and many more.

My favorite musicians include Nirvana, Korn, Linkin Park, Metallica, H.I.M., Papa Roach, Backstreet Boys, Garth Brooks, and Limp Bizkit.

I am a fan of all things supernatural and spooky.

I am a horror movie junkie.

I'm a huge bookworm. Give me a title of a book and chances are I have already read it.

I am a huge HOCUS POCUS fan and can recite the movie word for word. lol

I am pretty much an open book and get along with everyone!
