Well, this month started out strong, but man I'm gonna need one hell of a break from reading, at least from the pace I've been going. This month saw the end of my summer reading challenge at work and I also participated in the Magical Readathon hosted by Book Roast. Fortunately, I was able to finish my TBR in time on the very last day, but it was close. I have to say, this month had some strong reads, particularly towards the end. It was most likely because I was starting to get into more spooky/horror reads with fall starting to creep closer and I'm all in for the vibes right now.
Total Books Read: 16
Total Pages Read: 4,698
Books Read:
Sing No Evil by J.P. Ahonen and K.P. Alare (3/5) - Sing No Evil's commitment to the metal aesthetic is what makes this comic stand out among other musically influenced graphic novels. I was already familiar with J.P. Ahonen, being a fan of his Belzebubs series, so I knew going in that I would love the art style. The characters are wonderfully expressive and the humor really comes out in their reactions, though my favorite bits are when the band really "gets into the zone" during their performances. There is a polished quality to the art, very clean and neat linework with a down to earth color palette. The colors get you into the mood for a fall read, perfect for the darker undertones of the story.
Speaking of, it almost seems like there are two plots constantly conflicting in the narrative, one about a band that is struggling to find their audience while dealing with issues from their interpersonal relationships, and the other about nefarious cannibalistic monsters brainwashing music lovers through possibly satanic jams. The two rarely meet harmoniously in the middle, with the latter plot only really taking hold until the last third of the comic, which is in desperate need for a weighty climax. I would have loved some more hints of the antagonists spread out throughout the story, just to make it more even.
Feed Them Silence by Lee Mandelo (3.5/5) - While coated in a constant state of melancholy and near hopelessness, Lee Mandelo's novella is a fascinating take on parasocial relationships and the emotionless nature of scientific study. Sean is a complicated, desperate, and at times unlikable lead, the whole story fueled by her selfish actions and lack of taking accountability. There was never a time where I outright disliked her, though, as I found it easier to pity her as she spirals more and more into loneliness and an odd sense of isolation, despite her connection with the wolf Kate. From the beginning, we see that her relationships are already on the verge of collapsing, as she doesn't have any friendships beyond her work life and her marriage is falling apart at a rapid pace. The link that she has with Kate is the only one she has any semblance of control over and only because she chooses so.
At several points in the story, characters remind Sean that she is neglecting other methods of connection, that everything else in her life is falling by the wayside without any kind of acknowledgment of how others' feel. Riya, her wife, said it best when she says "Sometimes I'm not sure you see anyone else besides yourself as a person." Every action Sean makes is to satisfy an immediate emotional need, even in actions meant to benefit Kate, as her possessiveness of the wolf comes from a false sense of ownership due to their one-sided connection. I enjoy watching messy characters be messy, so Sean's journey was especially interesting to me.
Grounded for All Eternity by Darcy Marks (3/5) - Who knew a ragtag group of kids from Hell could be so dang endearing? The book gives a whole new meaning to "suburban hell," which funny enough ends up looking not too dissimilar from those on Earth.
Mal and his friends are destined for big things. What those things are exactly is a bit cryptic at first, as we don't really get the technicalities until the last third of the book, despite it being written in Mal's voice. It doesn't feel like a grand reveal or like a mystery solved, just information that wasn't given to us earlier. The plotting of events in the story seems chaotic at times, retreading story beats and going down certain paths that don't really circle back to anything. It could have used maybe just one more round of editing to chop off the excess to help with pacing, but it gets back on track fairly quickly.
I'm always down for different interpretations of hellish beings or give a little shake up to any religious mythos. Here we have angels that reside in Hell to secure the evil forces within and protect the balance of reality. They're not demonic, devilish, or evil in any way, they just happen to live where the work is. It's a very middle-grade friendly version of Hell, detailing the various rings and which sins belong to which ring. We only ever see the more residential side, complete with diners, comic book shops, and movie theaters, so no need to worry about kiddies bearing witness to eternal torment before they can crack open some Alighieri.
The story itself is a very fun ride, full of magic and Halloween-type shenanigans as the kids find themselves on Earth, trying to thwart an escapee from the Pit looking to manipulate the people of Salem. It's spooky enough to satisfy anyone looking for an exciting fall read that may not scare their socks off, but will definitely get them in the mood for the season. The cover alone should snatch any passer-by's attention, and really, who can resist a bright red cover with three mischief makers on it?
Twisted Wonderland the Manga Vol. 1: Book of Heartslabyul by Wakuna Hazuki and Sumire Kowono (4/5) - For a manga based on a mobile game, I think the transition between formats has worked incredibly well here. The story is condensed in a way that makes sense for the plot, pacing, and newcomers and the incorporation of a proper main character with his own backstory and personality is actually an improvement on the source material. As someone who loves the game, one of its downsides is how you, the player, interact with the story and the characters. Even though your presence initially is what gets the story going, you almost feel sort of needless as it goes on and everyone talks around you more than to you. Instead, the manga gives Yu more weight and tangibility, which is necessary when going from an interactive game to a physical book that hinges on having personable, engaging leads.
The art is absolutely spot on, to the point where I had to double check whether Yana Toboso was doing it. Sumire Kowono does a wonderful job of matching Toboso's style, while also giving the world a new sort of dimension. It allows us to see these characters be more expressive and dynamic in comparison to their limited character models in the game. I'm really looking forward to seeing certain story beats played out in manga form, now that we can truly see the magic and power of the characters in action.
The Black Flamingo by Dean Atta (4/5) - I tend to rush through books in verse, but this is one I really wanted to settle with. Atta has such a rich voice that shines through Michael. You can feel every emotion, each heartbreak, each shining moment of confidence or pride. Even with so little words, every moment leaves an impact. Though I wasn't able to personally relate with the material through its exploration of racial issues or identity, I still found those moments and discussions incredibly valuable and enlightening.
However, what I was able to latch onto was the book's take on a queer experience. Atta portrays Michael's queerness through such a wide spectrum, whether going from being incredibly comfortable to navigating his gender expression and sexuality to fearing coming out to people he's known for years. Atta also captures other aspects of queer identity formation through the supporting characters, like internalized homophobia. I found it refreshing that Michael didn't go through a period of self hatred, but that Atta still approached those feelings through the other characters. It allowed for multiple queer experiences to be shown and validated and illustrated that everyone's journey to understanding themselves often takes different paths.
What word I would ultimately use to describe this book is powerful. Not only in its words and effects, but also what it gives the reader. It instills in them that they are the ones with the power over who they are and how they choose to express it. You have the power to live in a way that's best for you, not for anyone else. There is no power or freedom in compromising who you are for other's acceptance.
A Snake Falls to Earth by Darcie Little Badger (4/5) - Darcie Little Badger's writing style has really grown since Elatsoe, going from a simple, but effective structure to something that feels more lyrical, more set into itself. I think I was a little more swept away by this one, as the world building felt more defined. The Reflecting World is such an interesting setting, filled with animal people, monsters, and spirits, some good, some bad, some ambiguous. I think Oli's chapters stood out the most to me because I've always been fascinated by indigenous animal tales. It was neat to see a world inspired by those stories, as well as how it interweaves with the modern world. Nina and Oli's perspectives are balanced quite well, even if it takes quite some time for the two to overlap.
The book gives a great example of the precarious domino effect that climate change sets off, how it only starts with a fluctuation in temperature, then leading to an increase in dangerous storms and the destruction of habitats, which in turn effects the species living therein. It goes to great lengths to show how delicate that cycle is and how disastrous the outcomes can be. Little Badger makes the topic incredibly accessible to readers unfamiliar with the specifics of the issue, as well as ensuring that it doesn't come off too heavy handed.
Undead Girl Gang by Lily Anderson (3/5) - Paranormal girl gangs in fiction have always hit a certain sweet spot with me. It might be the camaraderie, it could be the tendency to use supernatural powers for sweet revenge on those that had wronged them, either way this element made the book all the more entertaining. There were points where I still didn't really buy the friendships between the girls, there were still too many moments of the bullies hanging onto their old ways even after some empathizing character development, but hey, that's just teenagers for you.
The witchy aspects take more of a precedence than the living dead ones as there is some focus on the specifics of rituals, their consequences, all giving off a vibe similar to The Craft. We even have a biker gang full of older witches and really it can't get much better than that. I don't know enough about the Wiccan religion to say if it was an accurate or flattering portrayal, since not all Wiccans define themselves as witches or vice versa, so just take that as you will.
If you've seen a good amount of murder mysteries, you'll probably get the twist right away. At some point it just becomes a process of elimination to figure out who the killer is, and that becomes very simple when the cast itself isn't too large. Still, it didn't detract from the intensity of the reveal or the follow up. In fact, the spiral we see the killer go down was very much 0-60 in nothing flat. At least that does something for the creep factor.
Dragon Pearl by Yoon Ha Lee (3/5) - I'm not sure if this title hit as hard as some of the other Rick Riordan Presents books. That's to be expected of course, as there are different writers and genres at play here and they're all going to have their own style. This one does something interesting, tying together Korean culture and mythology with a sci-fi setting. Very rarely do I think I see fantastical elements in space, such as ghosts and shapeshifters, but I think it's done well here. It's evenly balanced so you don't have too much of one or too little of another. It's also nice to see a mythology represented that I don't see too often, which is really what this imprint is here for.
Min is an…interesting lead. She goes through the story with few repercussions or consequences, saying that it's unfair for foxes to be treated as liars and manipulators, but has no qualms about using her powers to Charm people. I think these contradictions make sense for a thirteen year old, one that's prone to being somewhat impulsive. But I think things just came a little too easily for her. There were a few too many conveniences that sort of pulled me out of the story and I think the gaining and using the magical macguffin was a little too clean.
Selected Poems of Gwendolyn Brooks by Gwendolyn Brooks (4/5) - I was drawn to this book after reading Brook's memorable, moving piece "To the Young Who Want to Die." It was one that really resonated with me and I wanted to see if he had any more writing that was just as striking. Fortunately, this book contains multitudes.
Brooks' work, at least in this collection, touches on a variety of themes, such as war fatigue, class struggles, racial tensions, womanhood, maturity, etc. I'm not going to lie and say that I understood each poem right off the cuff. Her voice is rich, emotional, and lyrical, something the ear has to be trained for to listen and understand. Some had clear, overt messages and stances, where others deserve a bit more time to study. There is nothing cryptic in what Brooks wants to achieve with her writing, so once you're used to the language you can catch on pretty easily.
I have favorites from all over this collection, like "And if Sun Comes," "The Lovers of the Poor," "Men of Careful Turns, Haters of the Forks in the Road," "The Crazy Woman," "In Emanuel's Nightmare," etc. There is such profound emotion here that each poem feels like a release or a catharsis, a way to unleash pent up feelings while also informing the reader of very real issues and sentiments. Her writing has a down to earth quality, her words not sending you to this heightened plane of beauty and wafting poetics, but simply revealing what has been in front of you the entire time.
Legends and Lattes by Travis Baldree (3/5) - (Review)
Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor (4/5)- Listened to the audiobook as a way to remember what happened in the series before I start on the final book. I think I enjoyed it about as much as I did the first time around and that final gut punch at the end was still so effective. There is so much creativity in this series, especially in the world building and characterization of the seraphim and chimera. Taylor's worlds always feel so expansive, even if we remain more on Earth at this point in the series than the more fantastical ones. If anything, I think the romance aspect didn't really do much for me, since it comes on a little too quick, or maybe it was just a case of me zoning out while listening. Either way, still a solid start to an immersive, engaging series.
How Do You Live? by Genzaburo Yoshino (4/5) - I have such a range of feelings for this book. While written in a way that might not be so accessible for the modern tween, it's insightful, profound, meaningful, reflective, and ultimately believes the truth of its message. It reads like The Little Prince in so many ways,  albeit more domestically, displaying some deep truths in life in a way that resonates with young and old readers. Sure, there are several points where it feels like the characters are just a mouthpiece for the author, especially the uncle, but to read this book knowing the context of the time in which it was written makes it feel a little less overbearing.
Copper's internal journey throughout the book was such a poignant one, reflecting on his place in the world, his connections with others, and how he will ultimately contribute to the world. The benefits of selfless thinking, of being aware of all that we're tied to, and how our actions affect everyone around us are natural themes in coming of age stories, but there's something here that makes them truly resonating. I think it may be the added history of this story being released at a time where free thought in Japan was criminalized, where the military was gaining more and more power. Its intent to inform youth on ethics, philosophy, and self reflection seems innocent and earnest without being patronizing or condescending. It's a book that treats its readers seriously, which feels like a hard to come by quality at times in youth fiction.
Mysteries of Thorn Manor by Margaret Rogerson (4.5/5) - This novella was the kind of post climax, settling down sort of fluff that I always love reading, an extended epilogue that sends the main characters beyond what we thought was the final page. It was nice to see the characters reacting to a more personal, domestic sort of conflict, Elisabeth facing it sword first, Nathaniel with his playful wit, and Silas' calm, but sometimes scary dutifulness. There is a more laid back quality to the story, but Rogerson still makes some room for emotion and tugging on some heartstrings. I was a big fan of Silas in Sorcery of Thorns so I was glad to see some more focus on his character, glimpsing into his history with Nathaniel's family and a sort of tragic aspect to his being. He also gets a lot of big laughs, what with his slight snobbery and high butler standards.
At this point, I feel pretty confident that I will eat up anything Margaret Rogerson writes. Her characters are just a joy to read and I can't get enough of them. I think this series so far has ended on a pretty sweet note, so it feels like a continuation it's needed, but I sure as hell would want one if it were in the cards.
Hellaween by Moss Lawton (5/5) -
Mid-2000s Hot Topic core mixed with Halloween goodness is really all I've ever wanted in a graphic novel. Everything about this comic, from the Invader Zim-esque character designs, which are fitting given that the creator has worked on the Zim comics, to the characters that are 50% snark, 50% feral gremlin energy. I love me a trio that all share a collective brain cell that is oftentimes misplaced. Really, I don't think I've been this satisfied by graphic novel in a while in terms of a story just having absolute fun.
If I were to have one critique, I would say that the beginning starts on a somewhat shaky note. Gwen seems to have met her monster friends before this story takes place and each time they reference their first meeting I felt a little lost, wondering if there was a piece of the story I was missing out on there. Fortunately that feeling doesn't stick around too long as shenanigans ensue immediately.
Also, having a nonbinary werewolf main character is definitely a good way to get me to put an instant five stars on anything.
Dead Collections by Isaac Fellman (5/5) -
I had such a unique experience while reading this book. I felt totally engrossed within the mind of Sol Katz, a trans vampire archivist in their 40s constantly finding himself at odds with the world around him. Whether it's through the transphobic remarks made by his coworker or the lack of accommodation he faces at work, society has a way of making him feel out of place. I loved the framing of vampirism as a chronic illness, something that Sol didn't choose to happen to him yet it's something he has to plan his entire life around. It grounds the book from being an overt monster fantasy, leaning more towards focusing on someone just trying to make living work for them.
It's definitely more of a character-driven story, as the plot slowly unfurls in the background until maybe the last fifty pages. Going into the direction of a haunted archive seems like a natural route to go down, but the way in which Fellman does it feels so creative and emotionally investing.
I don't think it's a book that's going to work for everyone. It goes into topics like the process of archiving, fanfiction culture, gender journeys, all topics that can be so personal. I was able to relate to so much of it, so that's probably why I'm giving it such a high rating. There's a sort of lugubrious, cerebral tone throughout the book that makes it seem slower than it really is, but that's another quality that really endears me to it. The book makes you feel like you're just watching someone's life, it's not spectacular or particularly revolutionary, but it's their's. Though it has its differences, Sol's life shares the same goals as most of ours: find purpose, sense of self, love, fulfillment, belonging, etc.
Lockwood and Co.: The Screaming Staircase by Jonathan Stroud (4/5) -
Jonathan Stroud built such a robust, engaging world with Lockwood and Co. It can be eerie, unsettling, and dangerous, where the dead stalk the night and range from being just an uncomfortable nuisance to full on murderous. Having only children being able to see ghosts gives our main characters a good amount of power and agency in the story, though Stroud is good about not painting all adults as pathetically useless. I was a bit confused a bit as to when this story takes place, as it has a sort of timeless quality, but does mention a few modern things here and there. It kind of falls in the same place as A Series of Unfortunate Events at times, where the time period is generally whatever it wants to be.
The writing is effectively creepy at points, giving a good introduction to horror to younger readers looking for a bit of chill. I don't think it's too much for a middle schooler, but that's coming from an adult that was watching things at that time that they probably shouldn't have. Still, it's a great ghost story that leads our characters into pretty precarious situations.
As always, what would a middle grade fantasy series be without a core trio. I liked Lucy's clear, empathetic voice as she narrates the story, with the charismatic Lockwood and persnickety George at her side. There's a bit of casual fatphobia with the way George is described at times, which is a bit of a downside. They bounce off another fairly well, though, and at least have a entertaining dynamic.
Average Rating: 3.81/5

One Piece Academy chapter 41: The Dark Bingo Tournament, part 1 (Quick translation)
The lore deepens..
source | previous chapter | part 2 | index
Tumblr media
Cover page side note : Sanji-kun's morning starts with black coffee.
Tumblr media
Editor's note: what was discussed while playing trump at the Doflamingo countermeasure headquarters?
-
Everyone: An undercover investigation?
Cora: Yeah...
Tumblr media
Cora: Doffy is supposed to attend a certain meeting tonight. Law and I will have an investigation trip.
Robin: 'A certain'...?
Luffy: ..Party with Mingo? I'm coming as well!!
Nami: They just said it's an investigation!
Law: Outside, it's a Bingo party with the Grand City enterprises.
But in reality... It's a meet-and-greet ceremony with the Dark World's residents.
Tumblr media
Chopper: The Dark world... Meaning the bad adults? Er, Eleven-Back...
Robin: Eight-Stop (T/N: these are Daifugou card game terms)
Cora: It's all my intuitive prediction, though.
Doffy got himself his first new suit in a long time. There's something to this...
If they meet, it's possible that he'd sign a contract to become part of the gangs then and there. We have to stop this somehow.
Tumblr media
Zoro: What do you mean 'somehow'? You haven't decided what to do yet?
Sanji: You want to stop them without being busted. It ain't a simple task at all.
Vivi: Definitely a high risque plan for high schoolers.... Triple Queen.
Cora: I'm one of the students who is given authority by the country and the school to 'investigate and use force'.
Coby: Something like Student council, or Public morals corps?
Cora: Right... Coby, you were part of the Public morals corps, aren't you.
Tumblr media
Nami: Hey, Cora-chan... Was Doflamingo always like this? You've lived with him, haven't you?
Cora:....
Our family, the Donquixote Family "used to be" one of the great families of the world. We brothers were raised by kind hearted mother and father.
Vivi: The Donquixote Family! I've heart bits about it from Papa.
Cora: 'Cause Vivi-chan's Nefertari family is also one of those great families!
Usopp: That sounds like a nice family!
Brook: What do you mean by "used to be?"
Tumblr media
Cora: A fall from a prestigious family to rock bottom... That's what I mean.
Father, unfamiliar with business, tried his hand at several private charity projects. Unfortunately, every single one ended in huge failure. Our family lost all its possessions, and we lost our social standing.
Those were terrible days, filled with hunger. There were people who's mock and laugh at us for getting the boot, kicked out of the town.
All of it was probably unbearable for my brother. He developed a deep seated hate towards the townsfolk and father.
Then, Doffy disappeared from the sight of me and family. As years passed on...
Tumblr media
Cora: I discovered him in the streets as one of the thugs.
Sanji: I guess, he was royally messed up.
Vivi: So he has a past like this behind that perpetual jolly demeanor...
Chopper: Vivi...
Tumblr media
Luffy: Corao, I'm bringing leftover food with me.
Cora: Bring with you? You're going somewhere?
Luffy: Why, at Mingo's party!

there's a severe lack of Fobin on this app and I need to fix this wtf
(going through my files of au ideas)
Ah, there we go: suburbs au
Where Robin moves into a sweet little neighborhood and is quickly welcomed by all the neighbors. She's pleasantly surprised because she moved out of a big city where everyone was so cold and hostile.
They make her a welcome party and gets chatting with the local besties and gossip-havers (Usopp and Nami). They introduced themselves - Usopp the graphic designer who married his childhood best friend Kaya and Nami - an accountant.
They also tell her about the residents: Luffy is a firefighter and has two older brothers, Sanji is a hairdresser and a volunteer at the local homeless shelter, Zoro is a policeman who adopted a little boy named Chopper (even though it feels like he's all their kid), Brook is a retired musician who won't tell anyone where he played (though they suspect he was the big shot who faked his death "the king of soul") and then there was Franky - a mechanic, who also came from the big city and now foes house repairs and sometimes pluming.
He seemed familiar to her but she decided to ignore it for now.
Robin lives right across from Franky so she keeps seeing him building various gadgets, little robots and even a whole motorcycle out of scrap metal.
One night there's a storm that breaks a tree and falls on her house. After the insurance company tells her they can't fix it, Nami's takes her in. However, Robin starts noticing little by little the house is getting repaired. She wanted to ask Nami but she was already so busy trying to find a loophole in the insurance contract and arguing with them, that Robin didn't want to bother her.
So she stays up one night to see who it is.
She notices Franky coming home late after a his shift. Which wasn't odd. But what was odd, was that ten minutes later he walked over to her house with his building tools and a bunch of material. She watched him almost all night as he built back up almost one forth of her house and furniture in one go. The before sunrise he went back to his house and came out on his lawn with a cola can to watch the sunrise.
The next night she waits in her house to see if he'll come back again. And he does.
The conversation all leads to one question "why?"
And the answer Franky gives her shocks her a bit. He says that he knows what it's like to lose a home and be left alone. She sees two star-shaped tattoos on his forearms and she remembers where he looked so familiar from.
Turns out he used to lead a gang in the same city as Robin but he got in trouble with the law and his entire "family" was locked up for a few years. Their house was raided and practically demolished. They made a deal with the authorities that if they confess to all the theft and dealings they've been doing, Franky's criminal record would be erased.
She didn't recognize him from there though. He doesn't remember her, but a little after the plea deal was made he walked past her on a bridge and talked her off the ledge. She couldn't see him very well from the pills she had taken and the tears welling up in her eyes, but she clearly remembered his voice and arm tattoos.

Everything else: Master list.
Tumblr media
It’s Karaoke Night in Cordonia. Everyone is drunk. Riley tips her glass back, finishing off her bourbon-laced eggnog, and then makes her way to the stage.
Standing in front of the audience she adjusts her Santa hat and smooths down the festive green miniskirt that shows her legs off to amazing effect. She takes the microphone in her hand and gives a provocative smile first to Liam, and then to Drake.
She’s buzzed but not falling down drunk, so she gives a fairly decent and downright sultry rendition of Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas while winding her way through the audience.
Stopping in front of Liam first, she runs a hand down the curve of his face as she leans into him, putting her cleavage in his direct line of vision.
Stepping out of his personal space just as he reaches for her, she sashays over to Drake and runs her fingers through his hair before dipping down and back up quickly, brushing the side of his arm with her breasts in the process.
Drake remains frozen in his seat as she dances her way through the rest of the room and retakes the stage, replacing the microphone as the song ends. She smiles and waves in response to the applause.
Liam smiles at Leo: She’s definitely into me, right?
Leo, eyes flick to Drake and back: Uh….well….I don’t know…
Liam: Oh, come on! You saw that, right? She was all over me!
Leo, doubtfully: Uh-huh…
Madeleine: She’s definitely into Drake.
Kiara: Non! She’s into Liam!
Penelope: As long as she’s not into Max….
Madeleine and Kiara: Shut up, Penelope!
Leo: Hey, Walker! What’s up with you and-
Drake leaps to his feet: Gotta go! To the…uh…bathroom! Yeah, bye!
Drake bolts out of the room as Max leans toward Hana and lowers his voice: Who was she singing to?
Hana, pressing her lips in a tight line: What the fuck do they have that I don’t? I mean besides di-
Max, patting Hana on the shoulder: Okay, good talk!
Riley returns to her seat and notices everyone staring at her: What?

Once Upon a Pixar (2026)
Hello. It's me, and this is the Pixar version of Once Upon a Studio called Once Upon a Pixar.
(The film opens with the headquarters at Pixar as the employees leave for the day.)
Pixar Intern: It's so incredible to think that George Lucas started Pixar back in 1979 until it was founded by Steve Jobs in 1986 40 years ago today. To think of all those talented animators and unforgettable characters who have been a part of the studio over the years.
Pete Docter: Yep. (as he and the intern turn around one last time) If the characters could talk to each other.
(Pete Docter and the intern leave as the door closes while the title comes up: "Once Upon a Pixar". The camera zooms into a photo picture of Woody, Jessie and Bullseye running on a record player. Woody glances back as everything seems quiet in the lobby.)
Woody: Psst! Atta. Princess Atta. You there?
(Princess Atta flies into the lobby and over to his picture.)
Woody: Is that it? They all gone?
Princess Atta: Yep, they're all gone.
Woody: Yee-haw! (he, Jessie and Bullseye leap out of the picture) Come on, Jessie, this is it.
Jessie: Let's get everyone. Yodel-ay-hee-hoo!
Joy: (gasps) There's the signal! All right, everyone! (she, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust jump out of their production cell) It's picture time!
Elio Silos: That's tonight?
Joy: That's now.
Ember Lumen: The 40-year group photo. (she and Wade jump out of their production cell as well) And the sun's going down. Come on, Wade, let's feel the burn!
Wade Ripple: Ooh, a fire pun. (chuckles) Got to like that.
(Suddenly, Arlo and Spot come out of their production cell as Wade gasps and goes against the wall.)
Arlo: (chuckles nervously) Sorry.
Woody: Picture time, gang!
Mei Lee: (chuckles) Okay, here we come!
(Mei Lee, Miriam, Abby, Priya and Tyler jump out of their production cell while they laugh.)
Abby: Wake up, everyone!
(The Oozma Kappa come out of their production cell as Squishy yells while Russell, Carl and Dug walk down the hallway.)
Russell: Whoa!
Dug: Awesome!
Russell: Oh, Mr. Lightyear! Get the folks upstairs!
Buzz Lightyear: Roger that, Russell. To infinity and beyond!
(Buzz Lightyear flies upstairs as Lightning McQueen drives happily down the hall with Mater.)
Mater: Yee-haw!
Merida: (jumps out of her production cell) It's picture time! (runs to the lobby) We're meeting at the lobby!
Flik: Okay! See you there!
(Miguel Rivera and Riley Andersen ride on Dim as Dim flies to the lobby.)
Miguel Rivera: (hollers)
(Francis gives a fun ride to Dash Parr.)
Dash Parr: Whoa! Higher! (laughs)

Nemo: Water.

Luca Paguro: Uh, Andy! A little help here?

Imelda Rivera: Going down?

(Joe Gardner hums to "Put On Your Sunday Clothes" while he draws Hector Rivera.)
Brook Ripple: Hey, black man. Shake a leg, will ya?
Joe Gardner: The leg won't make a difference, it's all in the wrist.
(Hector Rivera bursts out of the drawing as Joe Gardner shrieks in surprise.)
Hector Rivera: Ay! I haven't seen a fall like that since Spain. (fixes the chair) Oh! Much better.
(At the men's room, Hopper, 4*Town and Chef Skinner freshen up as Chef Skinner blows a kiss and chuckles. Suddenly, Tuck and Roll appear in front of his eyes, laughing, as Jessie opens the door.)
Jessie: Let's move it, gentlemen!
(While Lorenzo Paguro tries to free his wife Daniela Paguro from her picture, Giulia Marcovaldo walk with Buster, Mr. Mittens, Larry and Machivelli.)
Giulia Marcovaldo: Uh-huh. Meeting at the lobby. Don't eat the rats.
(Scud tries to eat Remy and Emile but Dante pops up and scares Scud away, thus saving the rats' lives. While Izzy and her team walk by, Mei Lee and her friends watch a cartoon on a TV.)
Izzy Hawthorne: Come on, everyone, you're gonna have nightmares.
(Zurg pops out of the TV and scares Mei Lee and her friends away, laughing. Back at the elevator, Roz makes it in time.)
Roz: Thanks very much for holding the elevator.
Rex: (groans)
Evelyn Deavor: I'm also going to the lobby as well.
Rex: Huh? Oh, come on!
(While M-O is being followed and annoyed by Dot, Mr. and Mrs. Anderson follow down the stairs, where Mr. Anderson is the one to drop his wallet and they laugh. Buster picks up the wallet and runs off with it.)
Mr. Anderson: Hey, Buster! Andy, get your dog!
(Woody follows up the stairs as he looks amused when he sees Underminer leading Colette Tatou with his hypnosis watch.)
Woody: Underminer? Underminer! You-- You stop that now, Underminer!
Rosie: Don't worry, Woody. (chuckles) I got this.
(Rosie hits Underminer offscreen unconsciously.)
Woody: Huh. (gasps) Wow.
(Woody looks up at photographs of John Lasseter, Andrew Stanton, Pete Docter, Lee Unkrich and Joe Ranft while he takes his hat off.)
Buzz Lightyear: Oh, Woody, where are you? We're at the lobby!
Woody: (chuckles) Got to go, but thanks. (puts his hat back on) On with the show.
(At the lobby, Woody rides on WALL-E with a fire extinguisher)
Woody: Yee-haw!
Mike Wazowski: Coast is clear, Sheriff.
Woody: Great! (holds the door open) Right this way, everybody.
(Sulley bumps into the door.)
Woody: Oh! Sulley, are you okay?
James P. Sullivan: (grunts) Never better, Eastwood. (accidentally trips the trash can)
Stinky Pete: I knew I'm surrounded by... (gets startled by Slim who rides on EVE) Idiots!
Slim: Tallyho! Whee! I'll show you the world! (laughs)
Woody: Oh, great, the ladder.
(Buzz sets the ladder while he hums.)
Mr. Dicker: Every time it gets hard. Money, money, money.
Woody: All right, everyone. Get-- Get together now. (to Tinny) Oh. After you, Tinny.
Emile: Oh. Pardon me.
Francis: (holds up a camera) Here's the camera, Lightyear.
Buzz Lightyear: (takes a camera and chuckles) Thanks, Francis. (climbs up the ladder)
Woody: Buzz, be careful!
Buzz Lightyear: (makes it to the top) All right, now where's the timer button?
Molt: Oh, oh! Three, two, one! (Randall Boggs grins)
(Buzz accidentally falls off while he screams and breaks the camera. As Buster walks to the broken camera, Buzz recognizes it.)
Andy Davis: Come on, Buster. (Buster runs back to Andy)
Buzz Lightyear: Huh? Oh, no. It's ruined.
Anger: Well, that was fun!
Sadness: Maybe we can try again in another forty years.
(The characters sigh disappointedly and are about to leave.)
Woody: Oh, no, no, wait. Come back. It-- It-- It'll be fine. It'll be...

bartolomeo in any of your aus
(I want to see him simp for the straw hats)
Bartolomeo in All my aus - and quickly before I regret it
Edit: More
Edit: Even More
Son of the Fog AU - everything's the same except Barto heard rumors abt a haunted skeleton pirate and tried to find him to join his crew. He didn't, but he starts frothing at the mouth when he finds out that Premium Luffy Lore and Brook is his second favorite strawhat
Teach him a Lesson AU - In Loguetown Barto still gets his reverence for Luffy because Luffy acted the same when put in the same situation, but he also noticed how amused Luffy's captain looked, and so becomes a Luffy And No One Else stan
Yoinked AU - Barto never really meets Luffy, since Luffy doesn't have the freedom to be a pirate
Marine Dads AU (just dog dad tho) - Barto hears abt Luffy a lot later, post-marineford, but is very inspired by his story and once he finally meets him he starts crying and Luffy has no idea what to do because Barto hasn't even introduced himself yet
One Piece/Soul Eater crossover - Barto is one of Franky's peers and was a super tough bad boi but then Luffy and Usopp (accidentally) saved him from a witch that had magnetism powers that Barto was weak against in pitchfork-form and human-full-of-piercings form. Barto founded the Luffy cult and co-founded the Usopp cult, and joined in marineford-adjacent because he would follow Luffy and Usopp to the ends of the earth
Selkie Usopp AU - Bartolomeo is very passionate abt selkie and fishman rights, and somehow knows more abt selkies than Usopp and Buggy put together (he needed to know abt Luffy-senpai's beloved's culture lest he offend one of The Strawhats)
Myths & Gods AU - Barto was rejecting gods for his whole life when he got stabbed, his arms broken, kidnapped and thrown into a field to die after a gang fight. He couldn't exactly figure out where the hell he was, only that the place was full of flowers (that were god flowers but he didn't know that). He ended up chewing on a sunflower because the seeds are edible maybe and Luffy appeared like 'Hah! First time In a while I've seen someone do that' and then brought everyone over to see the hobo sleeping in their flowers, and tell Sanji to feed him. Barto will now tell everyone that asks that the gods are awesome and they saved him and he's still a pirate but hes borderline door-to-door Mormon because he just won't stop talking abt how the gods helped him in his lowest hour
One Piece/Fruit's Basket Crossover Au - Barto was a delinquent kid (and still kinda is) that, in middle school, ended up in a gang fight with high schoolers. He and his little gang was losing miserably but then they saw a crying "girl"(Barto wasn't sure at the time) with a broken nose that pointed at the towering highschoolers and Luffy, Zoro and Sanji all came out, Zoro with a baby strapped to his back, and they all proceeded to beat the shit out of those highschoolers. That cemented them as the coolest people Barto knows, but then Luffy went up to him and said he had really cool hair and he looked like Brook. Barto had no idea what that meant but it started his massive fanboy crush as well as his entire gang's matching massive fanboy crushes
Wing AU - pretty much same as canon except Barto's got some wings with a lot of dye in them, so much it's hard to tell what kind of wings they are. He can't control his wings flapping when he's excited and he's always tripping around Luffy because he keeps accidentally flying a centimeter and then falling
Roger's Ghost AU - Bartolomeo occasionally thinks abt killing himself so he can be part of Luffy's ghost posse but he never does, he also does a lot more research into the origins of the strawhat because he doesn't want Luffy to be cursed (he knows about the curse even if none of the crew does, it was by accident)
Sun's Personality AU - Bartolomeo is in denial that Luffy isn't entirely Him, tries his best not to wonder if it was Luffy that inspired him or Nika. He had a bit of a strained relationship with his devilfruit at first but learning that Strawhats liked cohabitation with their devilfruit meant Barto put some effort into actually knowing his devil, and they ended up having more in common even if his devil is very straight-laced and traditional while Barto is Barto
Halloween au - Bartolomeo is a cockatrice that is absolutely obsessed with Luffy and draws fanart that borders on furry art of him All The Time and if anyone says anything derogatory about any of the crew he turns them into stone. He has dog ears that he wears in private

confessing to his long time crush during a sleepover hcs ; hunter
Tumblr media
requested by ; anonymous (12/04/23)
fandom(s) ; the owl house
fandom masterlist(s) ; main | hunter only
character(s) ; hunter wittebane
outline ; “Hi! I know this request is a bit much but your writing style is awesome and idk if i could write it myself 😅 could you do a hunter (toh) x reader where they’ve been mutually pining for AGES but they don’t really know the other likes them but everyone else around them knows and is trying to get them together. so one day (maybe when they’re in the human realm, or not!! your choice! :)) the gang (luz, willow, amity, gus, hunter etc) are having a sleepover and they trick hunter and reader into sharing the same bed. SFW and fluffy please 😅😅 maybe a bonus of what the next day would be like if they woke up holding each other ?? AHH SORRY for the big request 😭😭 i hope u have a lovely day!!!”
warning(s) ; none, just fluff!
you’d known each other since he went by the ‘golden guard’ title — back when he was someone entirely different, but even then there was definitely something between you
faint and flickering and indistinct but nonetheless there
then when he went from guard to hunter your relationship evolved from that flickering something to a distinct attraction that you spent more time dancing around than doing much else
the two of you living embodiments of burning laughter-strained cheeks and stuttering smiling lips as you talked circles around your intentions and attractions with everything you had
thinly veiled disappointment at the term ‘friend’ and unshakeable grins at every crumb of physical contact being signs that the two of you missed — yet that blared your feelings clear as crystal to your companions
and, bless them, they tried to let the two of you work it out on your own but after two months of close contact in the human realm they snapped and decided to intervene
they excused the whole thing as a sleepover (coincidentally rescheduling for them all to be over at vee’s partner’s home and camila to be over visiting a friend of hers) — so by the time the two of you were set up in the noceda family’s living room you didn’t have the chance to back out
(and luz had stolen every other spare mattress and hidden them in her locked room, the menace)
initially it was awkward but then you broke the ice by making a joke about them abandoning you and things became easier
conversations were pleasant and easy, like a cool babbling brook on a hot summer’s day
affection was casual and brief, followed by the sort of laughter that only puppy-love can bring
you put on a documentary about wolves and just laid and sat side-by-side — with your head on his shoulder and his arm around your waist
it’s quiet and domestic and perfect but neither of you say anything
and you don’t say anything until well after you’ve fallen asleep in each other’s arms: your head in his chest and his body curled around you
peaceful and warm and domestic as you drift off to the sound of a soft british accent describing the dynamics of a wolf pack
you don’t know who woke up first, but you both end up pretending to sleep for a while in order to revel in the moment but all too soon you’re forced to end your little act when your friends come home
leaping apart dramatically with awkward smiles and averted eyes
laughing in fake coughs into your fists as you pretend not to have enjoyed the night as much as you had
almost getting away with it until luz, mouth working before her mind, asks if you two finally confessed last night
earning her a playful slap upside the head from amity whilst you and hunter stutter and stammer over your words — a thousand non-answers falling from your lips until you just stop, look at each other, smile awkwardly and nod
and his hand reaches out under the cover to shyly hold yours and your squeeze it in return, the two of you smiling like the teenagers you are at your non-confession
and, all of a sudden, the something that you spent so long pretending wasn’t there is suddenly very very clear in what it is
and you couldn’t be more thankful for luz’s big mouth

What is the timeline for this au? :3
I have a more detailed timeline with dates in Excel, but I don't have it rn so here's a shorter one (which is still really REALLY long). thanks for the ask!!! spoilers 4 everything second chances...
Before the animatronics
Part 1 - William's childhood
-Due to the brainwashing, William thinks he lives in a mansion with "his parents and his four siblings" -- there's a forest nearby & William and his "father" go there to hunt animals frequently. William starts going to the forest by himself, and when he's 13, he encounters a ghost kid with a golden bear mask near to the altar of a missing child.
-In the late 40s, William is born in England. He's taken away by Shadow Bonnie when he's a baby, but she brainwashes him into thinking he's still with his family. (this is the #parasiteshadow concept)
-Angry at the ghost, he goes back to the altar and destroys it. But then Shadow Bonnie takes the shape of this ghost kid, and scares William so much he breaks free from her control. Realizing his whole life was a lie -- he didn't have a family and the Afton mansion was never there -- he loses his mental stability
-William discovers Remnant since that's what Shadow Bonnie's made of, and investigates it. By experimenting with it, he manages to create the "Fear gas" that he uses to brainwash other people the way she did to him (this device is used as a McGuffin A LOT)
Part 2
-Years later, when William is 19, he goes to college in USA and meets Henry. He's working on his first ever human-sized animatronic, Fredbear, which reminds William of that ghost he saw. So he becomes obsessed with Henry thinking he's related to his past somehow. Despite this, Henry & William become good friends bc they relate to each other
First pizzeria
-William and Henry open Fredbear's Family Diner, with the only animatronics being Springbonnie and Fredbear at the beginning, but they add Chica, Bonnie, Freddy & Foxy later. William modeled Springbonnie after Shadow Bonnie
-William marries his gf Verna, and Henry marries his friend Barbara. William & Verna have a "opposites atract" kinda relationship, that's fun at the beginning but that gets worse and worse as times passes. Henry & Barbara married just to hide each other's actual preference, but they do get along well
-William cheats on Verna with a former classmate, Lorraine
-Sammy and Charlotte are born
-William and Verna get divorced
-Five years later, William kidnaps two children for the fear experiments:
Michael Brooks (neglected teen that follows Will into his car when he's using the Fredbear suit).
Melissa (also a neglected child, she saw Michael being kidnapped but got caught by Will when she was looking for help)
-They become Michael Afton & Melissa Afton (CC)
-Michael also becomes William's accomplice and:
They build the Funtimes
the Bite of 83 happens.
he kidnaps Charlotte, and she becomes Elizabeth Afton. (#fakeelizabeth) Lorraine witnesses this and William kills her, Lorraine then possesses Ballora. (#scrapballora)
-Aditionally, William kills Garrett & he possesses the Puppet. He also kills the Kids(tm) and they possess the gang as usual. He then injects their Remnant into the Funtimes which makes them act erratically. He opens Ballora Pizza World but it's a very exclusive, rich people thing
-Obviously Fredbear's closes after all that. Fortunately Henry (kinda) realizes what's happening and helps Michael escape from William by hiding him with Verna somewhere far. Unfortunately William passes that as Henry kidnapping Mike and pins all of his crimes on him and his grandma /j
Second pizzeria
Part 1
-Henry is cleared from the kidnapping and murder charges due to a lack of proof and opens a new pizzeria, Freddy's Fazbear Pizza, with the Freddy, Bonnie, Foxy and Chica from the previous establishment...
-William runs away with Elizabeth after Ballora Pizza World falls apart since everybody knows the owner's a killer. and they change their names. This is when William adopts Vanessa, mainly to spy on the people from Hurricane without potentially revealing himself (#aftonshellyfam)
-Meanwhile Henry is building the Charliebots & living with kid-bot Charlie bc he thinks the real Charlotte is dead. Barbara left with Sammy after an incident (Sammy got hurt when playing with kid Charlie and Henry helped the bot instead of his son smh).
-Vanessa tells this to William and they steal the Fourth Charlie. William makes her into Circus Baby
-When Elizabeth is 19 she gets crushed to death by Circus Baby when trying to protect Vanessa from her (ice cream scene almost happens but with Ness). Elizabeth becomes Fake Charlie
-Henry steals Fake Charlie back, and tries to modify her so she looks like his vision of Adult Charlie again. Shadow Bonnie leaves William momentarily to feed on Henry's despair, taking the form of Fake Charlie. This makes Henry thinks she's evil, and he locks her away, not knowing Charlotte's in there
-William gets worse bc Shadow Bonnie has left. He tells Vanessa all about her crimes so she can kill people w him (he hasn't directly killed anyone since he left Hurricane) and she tries to escape but he threatens to hurt her friends if she does
Part 2
-Hearing that Will is gone, Michael returns to Hurricane to investigate bc he wonders what was up w the Funtimes & if Lorraine was his mother. Due to having been brainwashed his memories are very blurry and he mistakes William's actions for Henry's and stuff. Specially since Will used Fredbear's suit when he kidnapped him, and Henry's living with Charlie bot -- the child Michael supposedly kidnapped to bring to his father. So he thinks Henry might be his father and that therefore he might be the criminal everyone fears in town,,
Then, Sister Location, Silver Eyes, FNaF 3 & everything happens.. but as you probably can tell it's still kind of a fractured Mess, so I'll leave the timeline here for now!!!

Synopsis (via hallmark channel.com):
Jack and Elizabeth are counting the days down to their wedding. Abigail worries that with only three days left, there is still a lot of work to do, including finding a pastor to perform the ceremony. Abigail sent message to Frank in Cape Fullerton, where he's been volunteering, but she's gotten no reply. Elizabeth has with Frank will arrive for the ceremony but just in case, Abigail says being mayor also grants her the authority to perform the wedding ceremony.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Elizabeth notices the her students are having a hard time paying attention in class. They all tell her that they are excited for her wedding and want to help decorate the church. Since it's a special occasion, Elizabeth agrees and gives the students a break from their studies so they can start decorating.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Later in the day, Jack gets a welcome surprise when his brother Tom arrives in a brand new car. Things have changed since the two last saw each other and Tom is now a traveling salesman for a tore company. As the two catch up, Tom Tells Jack that their mother can't make the wedding due to a back injury, but Jack is just still thrilled that's little brother will be there with him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Earlier, Bill received word that the Mounties need Jack to escort an inmate to jail in Cape Fullerton. Instead of passing the message to Jack, Bill plans to do the job himself. Outside of town, Bill meets up with another Mountie who's watching over the prisoner, Joe Yancy, head of the Yancy Gang. While Bill prepares to escort Joe to Cape Fullerton, he spots two shadowy figures outside the secluded cabin. Just then, gun shots ring out and Bill throws Joe back into the cabin and barricades the doors.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Back in Hope Valley, a familiar face bursts into the café, surprising Abigail and Elizabeth. Elizabeth's sister Julie has arrived for the wedding, she passes along regrets that their mother can't make it. Mrs. Thatcher is on London helping Viola with her newborn baby, but Mr. Thatcher is on his way to Hope Valley for the wedding. Julie then heads to the church to help decorate for the big day.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Outside of town, gunfire continues to fly at the secluded cabin. Bill is pinned down with another Mountie and the wanted criminal Joe Yancy. Bill suddenly realizes that in his back pocket, he has Jack and Elizabeth's wedding rings and needs to get the rings -- and himself -- to Hope Valley in time for the wedding.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Back at the church, Julie is busy organizing the decorating effort. Suddenly, she turns around and is surprised to see none other than Tom Thorton standing in the church. The two exchange pleasantries before Julie finally asks Tom is he has a date for the big event. The reply is welcome and Julie does her best to hide the widening smile on her face.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At the café, Carson and Abigail are busy prepping the ingredients for the wedding dishes. As they talk and chop, the café door opens and Frank walks inside, carrying a bouquet of flowers. Frank tells Abigail that nothing would have kept him away from Jack and Elizabeth's wedding, and wraps her in his arms.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Night falls and Bill is planning his escape from the cabin. Bill slips outside through a root cellar and makes his way behind the gunman. One by one, Bill disarms the gunmen and ties them up. With the situation under control, Bill can proceed with the mission and escort Joe to prison.
Back at the church, the students are rehearsing their parts in the wedding. Cody attempts to light the candles but he trips, causing the lit candles to spill and setting the curtains on fire. In an instant, the flames expand and the entire church is engulfed. Jack and Elizabeth find Cody who tells them that Opal is still inside the church. Jack sprints into the burning church to find Opal, while the rest of the town rushes to the church with pails of water. Moments later, Jack runs out of the burning building with an unconscious Opal in his arms. He hands her too Carson who rushes her to the clinic. Jack then turns around and he and Lee return to the church to help put out the fire.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The next morning, some of the town gather at the church to assess the damage. Elizabeth arrives to let Jack know Opal will be fine and is still in Carson's care. Jack inform Elizabeth that there's been a lot of damage to the church. Rosemary delivers the devastating news that Elizabeth's wedding dress was also destroyed in the fire. Seeing her burned dress brings Elizabeth to tears. Unwilling to admit defeat, Abigail marshals everyone to rebuild the church and make a new Dres in the remaining day and night before the wedding. It will be a challenge but everyone agrees to give it their all and the entire community comes together to help.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Later in the day, Elizabeth's father William arrives. Elizabeth greets him as he steps off the coach and he can immediately tell something is wrong. Unwilling to see his daughters wedding ruined, William rolls up his sleeves and joins Jack and the other men as they work to repair the church. Meanwhile, the ladies get together to start drawing up sketches for a new wedding dress, and Dottie donates all the fabric to make it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lee and Jack find some alone time to talk about the big day. Jack admits he is nervous about the wedding but Lee tells him he had the same pre-wedding jitters before he married Rosemary. It happens to everybody.
Elizabeth shows her father her house and he wants to know how she is holding up. When she says she is nervous, William tells her she has no reason to be; she is marrying a good man who is devoted to her. He also presents her with a present from her mother: a delicate floral headband that Mrs. Thatcher wore on her wedding day. William gets misty-eyed as he recalls a young Elizabeth jumping into his arms. She reassures him that despite her getting married, she will always be his little girl.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The wedding day arrives and Rosemary and Abigail take a moment to to give Elizabeth advice for a successful marriage. Meanwhile, Jack puts on his Mountie uniform and prepares to head to the church. Tom tells his big brother that their father would be very proud of his son on this special day. Just as the two pack up to leave, Jack remembers he is missing the rings and Bill is still nowhere to be found.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hope Valley begins to gather in the church for the wedding of the year, and Julie is busy with the children, getting them ready for the ceremony. Phillip approaches Julie and tells her that he doesn't have any rings to put on his ring bearer pillow. Just as panic begins to set in, Bill rushes through the door, wedding bands in hand.
Moments later, everyone takes their places and the wedding begins. All eyes turn to the bride, arm in arm with her father, as she walks down the aisle. Jack grabs her hands and Frank begins the ceremony. Jack and Elizabeth begin to say their vows, promising their love and commitment to one another forever. Frank pronounces the two husband and wife and they share in a passionate kiss as their family and friends gimme them a standing ovation.
Tumblr media
The reception begins at Abigail's Café and the guests each take a turns congratulating the blissfully happy husband and wife. Julie takes a moment to tell Tom about her upcoming art show in Hamilton, inviting him to attend. Bill takes the stage to toast Jack and Elizabeth, Abigail follows with her one toast about love. Afterwards, Willim takes his daughter's hand for the father-dughter dance. As they dance, Jack taps William on the shoulder and asks if he can cut in. William agrees and Jack and Elizabeth take to the dance floor. Jack whispers to his new bride, "Finally," and the two share their first dance. The rest of the guests follow their lead and everyone joins on the dance floor.

Almost/Could have been Contestant List
Who would you like to have seen become a companion?
Rules for further suggestions:
Must have met the Doctor
I know Jago and Litefoot are popular but I am not including anyone from Talons as a matter of principle
Not someone you could already call a companion (some exceptions may be made on a case by case basis)
Not necessary, but ideally someone who would have said yes in the right circumstances
There's no other restrictions on the kinds of characters to include, just anyone you wanted to come on further adventures in the TARDIS

Will you?..
Robin x GN!reader
Type: fluff
——————
You sigh as you knock on Nami’s door.
“Y/n? What’s up?” Nami says as she lifts up an eyebrow “Nami.. can I talk to you? In private?..” You whisper, you make eye contact with robin who was reading a book. “Oh!.. why of course!” She says as she closes the door behind her. “So what is it?” She says as she puts her arms behind her back. “Ah.. it’s just.. I don’t know who else to ask but.. do you think this ring will be good for robin?” You chuckle “Oh. My. God! You scared me for a sec there!” Nami squeals as you pull out a hand made ring made out of a bone. “Well.. knowing robin, she would think it’s perfect!” She giggles, you let out a sigh of relief “that’s great! Thank you Nami..” you smile at the girl “sooo… when are you gonna, you know??” She chuckles “Tonight!.. during dinner!” You tell Nami “oh!! That’s perfect! I’ll tell the gang!” She chuckles “Huh?! Wait no! Please I’m just trying to make this a one on one thing!..” you yell as she slams the door on your face.
“So what was it?” Robin coos “oh its a secret!” Nami winks at the woman as she puts up a finger on her lips. “Well.. I’m good at keeping secrets..” robin says as he closes the book she was reading, then she lays her head on her hand “so tell me! What is it?” She giggles excitedly “CANT! ITS TOO PERFECT!” Nami yells
—— later that night ——
“Robin? May I talk to you? Outside that is..” you look across the table to Robin nervously “huh?.. why of course!..” she says as she excuses herself and walks out this dining room with you.
“Okay guys this is it!” Nami squeals
“What is it Y/N?” She smiles as you grab onto her hands
“Okay.. Robin, I’ve loved you almost ever since you entered my view, everything about you was and is perfect!.. And you know how I call you my wife.. well Robin, I asked you to come outside with me because I wanted to ask you..” you say as you let go of her hands and grab the box as you get down on one knee
“Robin.. will you marry me? Will you promise to never leave my side? Do you promise to accompany me as my wife?”
She lets out a gasp and covers her mouth as her eyes go wide as tears fall down
“Robin?..” you whimper hesitantly, scared that this is the first and final mistake you make in the relationship..
“Yes!”
It was almost as if time slowed down right then n there. She lets go of her face and lets her tears fall, you feel your knees grow weaker as you see her beautiful smile.
“Yes Y/N! Yes I will!” She nods her head up and down over and over again.
You smile as you put on the ring on her finger and slide the other one on yours as you get up. She jumps into your arms, soaking your clothes. But you don’t mind, as this beautiful memory finally gets set in stone. You twirl with her in your arms, as you see the rest of the crew who has their jaws hanging open except for Nami who is hesitating to let out a scream, you almost stop. But at this rate you don’t care anymore, you let out a laugh as tears fall down your face.
“Robin! Y/N!” Chopper yells as tears fall down his own face, he runs towards you and robins legs. Usopp starts to cheer, Franky starts crying while cheering for the two of you as well. Zoro shrugs it off and opens a bottle of booze, Brook begins to laugh and clap, Sanji is still processing. Luffy is still leaving his mouth open but he finally lets out a smile, Jinbe is congratulating the two of you, and Nami finally lets out her high pitch scream.
“Oh my god! Congratulations!” Nami screams
“Yeah but, I see you could not leave your mouth shut..” you sigh. “Y/N!” Chopped yells as he pulls your pants. You kneel down to his level as he whispers in your ear “Does this mean I get to call you mom/dad/parent?” He cries. “Yes, call me whatever you want!” You smile.
You let out a sigh as the entire crew runs to the two of you cheering and congratulating the two of you.
~~~~~
As you let robin climb on to you, she leaves kisses on your neck, shoulders, and everywhere on your face.
“I’m so glad you asked me to marry you my love.. your the best thing that has ever happened to me you know that?” She chuckled
Last Day on Earth
Tumblr media
A lil break from Forget Me.
PS. Might be a series too, don't quote me.
You make my heart skip a beat or two
Binibini, do you know how much I feel for you?
Oh my love you made me love you like a fool
So tell me what do I do?
To know what's inside your mind
Everytime you look into my eyes I melt inside
You first met Hiyori when your teacher Denjiro changed his appearance. Denjiro has been secretly teaching you his swordsmanship in secret for the past few months.
It was your first time in the Flower Capital and it was magnificent. Everything was more vibrant and cheerful than your previous remote village.
Then you met her.
"This is Kozuki Hiyori." Your eyes widen at Denjiro's introduction. "You're going to become her retainer and you need to protect her with your life." It was a sudden request, one that you knew you weren't ready for yet. But still, it was this inexplicable want inside you. One that just came forward before even Denjiro spoke up.
"It will be my honor!" You bow down to Hiyori and she chuckles.
"Who is she?" She asks Denjiro and you can't help but tremble.
"Her name's Y/N Y/LN. She's my student."
"Oh! Then-" You hear shuffling and you can't help but look up. "Nice to meet you, Y/N!" You were blinded by her smile and you knew by then that you were a goner.
Oh darling dance with me now
Under the rain, under the dark grey clouds
If it's my last day on Earth then love me now
"How did Denjiro discover you?" One day while you were practicing Hiyori asks out of nowhere. You hum as you set aside the wooden sword.
Baby I'll do everything to make you smile
"Probably because I'm a member of a Yakuza gang."
"WHAT!?" You laugh at her reaction and smile.
"I was only a gopher, Hiyori-sama. But I did learn how to be fast from there." It suddenly rains and you hold out your hand, watching it get wet from the raindrops. "Sometimes, I wished those men just killed me instead of taking me in. I feel so guilty being the sole survivor of my village."
"Y/N." Hiyori grabs your arm and she felt her heart clench as she sees your tears.
"Don't worry. I'll protect you properly, Hiyori-sama."
Binibini, do you remember the time you aren't ready?
I kinda loved you more and you felt sorry
I know there were uncertainties
But love was strong for you and me
So take my hand now baby
You clenched your hand so hard that it almost bled. You just arrived and see both Toko and Hiyori cuddling Zoro.
"Fuck." You clench your chest in order to numb the pain that is consuming you.
Ah. You've never felt so empty before. Your tears fall down before you know it and you leave the tattered house.
You stand guard outside and decide to just train yourself.
You need to exhaust yourself. You need to be so tired so you won't see dreams.
You grunt as you keep swinging your katana.
Brook finds you just freezing to death when he comes over close to morning.
"EH!? UM- WHO ARE-" Brook's shouts woke Hiyori, Zoro and Toko. They all stand and go outside. Hiyori pales when she sees you freezing and deathly pale.
"Y/N! Please bring her inside!" Brook nods at her, scoops you up in his arms and brings you inside the room. Zoro helps light up the bonfire in the middle of the room and Hiyori strips you and she trembles at the sight of your wounds.
Zoro actually found Hiyori and Toko safe from Killer because of you. You managed to defeat him.
Hiyori quickly changes the bandages on your wounds while Zoro makes sure that Brook looks away from your naked body.
"Hiyori." You manage to get out despite your weak stature, Hiyori ignores you in favor of tending to your worsening wounds. 'I love you.'
You wanted to confess. All the feelings you harbored for her through all these years. But you don't manage to as you lose consciousness once again.
Destiny called us now
If it's my last day on Earth come close and hold me tight
Hiyori cries that night.
Why did you not wake her up? Ensure that she was safe? Why were you outside in the freezing snow?
"Why are you an idiot?" Hiyori cries as she holds your cold hand. She managed to properly clean you up and you're barely clinging to life right now. Even Toko is laughing crying at your state. Both you and Hiyori were her adoptive sisters. You even send Yasuie half of your monthly salary so he could help Ebisu town even more.
"Please wake up. Please survive, Y/N." She pleads as she cuddles into you, claiming that it'll warm you up even more.
Oh darling dance with me now
Under the rain, under the dark grey clouds
If it's my last day on Earth then love me now
Baby I'll do everything to make you smile
You clashed swords with various people at this point. You were just so exhausted. You plop down and groan at the pain. Since when did you bleed onto your kimono?
'That letter. It'll reach her, right?' You think to yourself as you hear shouting all around you.
You get why Hiyori would prefer Zoro now. He's so much stronger than you.
Much cooler.
Much faster.
How could you ever compare?
'The greatest swordsman in the world.' You smile bitterly at the thought. 'What a fit for the world's most beautiful woman.'
You let the exhaustion take over you.
'Please don't let Hiyori know.' Was your last thought before you fully lost consciousness.
A/N:
I omitted some lyrics because I wanted the angst.
If I find Hiyori prints on the con that I'll be going to, let it be known right now that I won't ever regret buying all of them prints.
You think this is another Richard Brook situation, don't you? Oh, the big bad maniac is suddenly all buddy buddy with everyone and the only one who can see through it is the brrrrrilliant Sherlock Holmes, is that it?
That's not what this is.
Plenty of people still only see him for his past actions. There's only a few of us who have stuck with him to help him move forward. This isn't another Fall in the works. But you, oh you seem to be too fucking scared to think rationally right now. You think everyone's ganging up on you for no reason, that you can do no wrong, that you've done no wrong, and you don't understand why. You hate not knowing things, you fear the unknown and unknowable. But if you just stop, breathe, and think-think-think with that brilliant mind of yours, maybe you'd realize that you've overlooked a few things. You're slipping. You used to be sooooo smart, so clever, you could solve any puzzle in the blink of an eye, but now? Oh no, now you're missing little details here and there. You're deleting key memories. You're genuinely turning into Sir Boast-A-Lot.
I used to want to be just like you, you know. I used to think that we were similar, that we would get along instantly if we met. I used to think of you as a hero.
I am the only one thinking rationally here, you are all just being tricked. It's all just a show. And what exactly did I overlook then if you claim to be so 'intellectualy superior'? I am missing nothing, neither did I delete any key memories. I only delete useless information that is just taking up space. But if you know so much then about my 'key memories' why don't you elaborate?
As if you could ever be like me, false hopes then, you would never be able to achieve my abilities. Sounds like someone is just grumpy about their own failures and inabilities, trying to make me seem incapable to feel better about your inability to become like me? And I am not a hero, heroes don't exist. And if they did, I would not be one of them.
Everyone is on the deck of the Sunny. Luffy enters. Luffy: Happy One Piece Day! Zoro: Yes! Right out of the gate. Luffy: What? What's going on? Jinbe: We're playing Luffy Bingo, Pirate King anniversary edition. Robin: Everyone filled out their cards with possible Luffy-related scenarios. Franky: First to bingo gets 100 bucks. Zoro: I had "Luffy calls it One Piece Day" on the center square. Luffy gets Usopp's bingo card and reads it. Luffy: "Luffy explains he doesn't want to be Pirate King to conquer anything." That's right, I don’t. I just think the guy with the most freedom in the entire ocean is the Pirate King and... (Luffy takes Usopp's pen) I'll just mark it off for you. Zoro: I think I got the winning card here. "Luffy tells us that his brothers almost killed him". Luffy: (Laughs) The adventure almost ended before even started. Nami: This is a fun one... "Luffy says I have the best crew". Luffy: Well, now that I know you want me to say that, I'll just say "gang" instead. I have the best... Everyone waits. Luffy: Crew. God, it just sounds right that way. Ugh. I don't like this game. Sanji: Ha! "Luffy objects to Luffy Bingo". Luffy: Come on, guys. Usopp: "Luffy says Come on, guys". That's two for the mighty Usopp. Luffy: Well, guess what! (He goes towards the swing) I can spoil your little game by sitting over here quietly all day and doing nothing. Luffy misses the swing and lands on his butt. Chopper: Anybody have "Luffy falls on the floor"? Brook: ... No one? Luffy: That's a victory! That's a victory for Luffy. (Laughs) I'm going to be the Pirate King! Everyone: "Luffy says I'm going to be the Pirate King"!
