A little bit more of the Avatar AU. I've tarted a series following this short comic of Dilla and Caleb meeting baby Miles/Spider:

It did not take long for Dilla and Caleb to adopt Miles, they had fallen in love with the tiny baby immediately ❤️ They decided to keep the name Miles, to honor the choice of his late birth mother Paz Socorro.

Since the baby was too small for a breathing mask, Caleb and Dilla would at first take turns staying with him at the human facilities. Later Elyon, the head of the facility, arranges for a shack to be placed in the Omatikaya village so Dilla and Caleb can finally take their son home, and care for him there. As Miles grows up, the shack also serves as a resting space where he can take off his breathing mask, eat and sleep more comfortably e.t.c.

When Dilla gives birth to Kai the baby brothers create a bond right away, always snuggling together and crying when separated. Unfortunately at the start they must be separated often since Kai, like all Na'vi and avatars, cannot breathe in human spaces for an unlimited time, and he himself is too little for a mask. It breaks their parents hearts to keep them apart during this first times, but they still make sure they spend as much time as they can together.

Kai:

Kai is the Elemental Master of Fire, or just “Master of Fire” for short. He grew up as a blacksmith after his parents VANISHED when he was 5 (they got kidnapped) leaving him to take care of his 3 year old sister alone. He can summon a fire dragon, make fireballs, control existing fires (somewhat?) and above all else- Get his powers stolen every 5 minutes which he constantly complains about because like. His fire powers. Why do people keep taking his fire powers he NEEDS those- He is the ultimate older brother (he has two siblings one of which he just kidnapped from off the street) and also re-forged magic weapons created by a god with his powers because he’s cool like that.

"Caleb and Hunter parallels" this and "Caleb and Hunter parallels" that--everyone needs to shut the FUCK up and think about Caleb and Luz parallels okay??

THEY HAVE SO MUCH IN COMMON. Caleb and Luz are both from the human realm but they weren't happy there. They both felt confined like they didn't fit in/belong there, so they ran off to the Boiling Isles (and were led by a Clawthorne) to escape that life. They're both curious souls who wanted to learn about a new world, and got a witch gf, palisman, and a new life there. They each had one (1) family member who they cared for back in the human realm but ultimately decided to hide their Boiling Isles adventures from. Aforementioned family member was hurt and betrayed when they found out the truth.

And then there's their differences. Caleb's environment was more religiously oppressive and Philip was much less understanding than Camila. Not only did he not want to work on their relationship, but he would rather Caleb die than be a witch sympathiser. Whereas Camila actually supports Luz. Luz also finds a way to balance her human and demon realm lives.

If you use Luz as a blueprint, you can extrapolate a lot about Caleb and the possible friendships and found family, and the arc he went through to feel comfortable there. You can also see where their stories would differ, with Caleb being suspicious and nervous where Luz was more enthusiastic and reckless. AND THE POSSIBLE LUMITY/CALYN PARALLELS IM ASDJFKJSDLFAS

Caleb is the original Luz, whose story ended in tragedy. Luz is his successor, whose story came full circle and got the happy ending they both deserved. (And she kicked his murderer's ass, which I'm sure he approves of)

it’s so annoying to me how absolutely no official stranger things account addresses the racism and homophobia that caleb/lucas has dealt with since season 1 and noah/will for the last few years but especially after the confirmation that will was gay in july. the caleb stuff is unacceptable to me because absolutely no one in charge was defending him (which isn’t surprising since they never actually address it in the show after it happens) and it’s been completely unwarranted from the start. a statement wouldn’t be hard to make. the will stuff is absolutely disgusting too because he’s getting called slurs left and right and tons of viewers want him to die because he’s… what? in love? not like hopper? like y’all really couldn’t have just posted something when noah confirmed he (will) was gay about how just maybe people could tone shit down? idc if byler’s supposed to be a plot twist OR if you don’t wanna “divide people even more 🥺” like everyone else in the world. it’s not like you have to be an activist to address bigotry ESPECIALLY when you’re part of a show that’s all about not conforming and not being normal. a paragraph isn’t that hard to type and at least you’re acknowledging that it exists because ignoring it clearly isn’t helpful. like this should not all be up to your actors

After watching Way Of Water and reading “High Ground”, It broke my heart how neglected, left behind and pushed aside Miles/Spider was by Neytiri, Jake and basically everyone else besides the Sully children, despite him being so loyal to them and having such a gentle kind heart. 

To make myself feel better I just had to include him in our Avatar AU, in which Dilla and Caleb definitely adopt him wholeheartedly, and Miles finally has a mother, father and brother to belong to 💙
