Finished the Pride and Prejudice book and 2005 movie and I gotta say I liked the movie way better

#sinful i know #but other than voluma three being a little rushed (i think the movie should've been 2 and a half hours instead of just 2)#it was really faithful and the stuff that was added improved it so much #two of my three favorite lines weren't in the book #and actually being able to see darcy compared to the mostly bare bones description we get of things visually in the book #made his struggle with his feelings so much clearer #and generally made the darcy/lizzie romance leagues better #though i am mad they took out the father's realization of how he's failed as a parent for the younger siblings #cause i really appreciated that #and the letter to lady catherine also not being here cause that was funny #but the movie gave us bingley practicing how to enter the bennet house with mr darcy #it gave us ''you have bewitched me body and soul and i love... i love... i love you''#and it gave us the ending bit about mrs. darcy #they changed up georgina's personality and made her less shy but the stuff we got from that change was so worth it #all in all the movie was mostly an improvement #(this is a personal opinion tho! most people like the book better so)#pride and prejudice

hey got some important news. the affordable connectivity program that helps poor and disabled people afford internet is going to run out of funding by april 2024 if we can't convince congress to renew it

i know emailing and calling politicians often seems like a waste of time, but this is gonna hurt alot of people (myself included) if this program is allowed to disappear. we really need to raise some awareness and get this program the funding that it needs. ACP is a game changer for literally millions of people. this is the only way many homes can even get internet, and in this day and age internet access is pretty much a necessity for almost everything. its gonna be a huge blow to have this vital program taken away from those who depend on it.

MY PROF WORKS FOR MARVEL AS A CONSULTANT FOR ALL THEIR SCIENCE-Y SERUMS!!

She literally told us that she helped to develop what the super soldier serum would be if it actually existed and how it would impact a literal human being to make it more realistic. She also said she developed other things for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and other Marvel works??? But didn't go into detail about all that stuff. I am just LOSING my mind!!

She's going to San Diego Comic Con, Dragon Con, and a few other big cons this year (and goes to them a lot) as a Marvel affiliate scientist and speaks at panels on the works she's done for them

And she just causally dropped this in class and now I am losing my mind

Help me stay afloat while looking for work!

Hi folks! It sucks to be asking this, but I really could use some help with paying some bills while I struggle to look for a job. I've been looking for work for months, but my options are quite limited in the new area I'm living in, but I have weekly medical bills to pay for therapy if I wanna stay sane through all of this. All I need is a bit of help with copayments, which aren't that high, but I hit the red, so I don't even have that.

I'm trying to get commissions set up to try and make a bit of extra cash on the side, but I've been really stressed out about this whole situation, making it really hard to focus on getting that done. If you could spare even a few bucks, I'd be so grateful. I'll even offer out some sketches and such if you want something while I'm still figuring out my proper commission stuff.
