This is once again the partial fault of @shou-jpeg, and it was all worth it. And yes, they are (for the most part) almost exact recreations of the original posters.

I saw a promoted tweet about Cinderella stories in MMA and just felt the urge to bring that concept to its natural conclusion.

I exhaled, scrubbing the floor that magically seemed to gain more filth each time I blinked.
Never had I so regretted touching a book as I regretted touching the one that had transported me into this fairytale world that was a little bit too much like Cinderella for my liking. Especially considering I was the one in the role of Cinderella.
I should've known to be wary of the enchanted books Crowley had told me to take to the library for safe storage. If I had, then maybe I would have found myself getting transported to a magical world that wasn’t my own or Twisted Wonderland.
Of course, I hadn’t exactly been planning on opening one of the books. One of them had just slid off the top of the stack and fallen to the ground, opening as it did so.
I’d frowned at the book covered in sun-faded fabric that obviously hadn’t been original to it as I sat down on the other books before kneeling and slowly picking the book upright as Deuce had come into the room behind with yet another stack of books.
I’d barely even gotten a chance to glance up at the young man as a flash of light sparked out from the book, causing the young man to shout in surprise before everything had faded into darkness and I’d woke up here.
I hadn’t woken up with no clue as to where I was. The enchantment on the book had been kind enough to give me all of the information regarding my character’s backstory.
And it was almost exactly that of Cinderella. Meaning that I was essentially trapped in a retelling of one of the world’s most famous fairytales known to man.
The only real comfort was that, at the very least, Deuce had no doubt seen me get sucked into the book.
He would go and get help; I knew he would, and as soon as they could figure out how, I trusted that my friends would get me out of this book and back into Twisted Wonderland.
But up until then, my best options seemed to be filling my role and playing the part of Cinderella. Which included servitude to my apparent stepfamily.
“You still haven’t finished cleaning the floor, Ashes? You won’t be able to go to the ball at this right!” My supposed stepsister trilled at me from the upper staircase, and I twisted to look up at her.
I had to hand it to her and my stepmother, who stood behind her with a faux-disappointed expression; they weren’t going with the classic nicknames of ‘Cinderella’ or ‘Cinders.’ Instead, they referred to me as ‘Ashes.’
I watched as my stepmother shook her head, her lips pulled together in a pout, “Really, dear, I would have thought you would know this by now. If you try to clean the floor while covered in filth, then you’re only going to spread filth around.”
I glanced down at my clothes, which were not, in fact, covered in filth but were considerably stained. I nodded nonetheless, my fingers curling into the filthy rag I was using to clean, “Yes, ‘Mother.’”
I heard the tapping of heels, and then my chin was lifted by a fan so that I was looking up into my stepmother’s face, which was just a little bit too red to be colored by blush alone, “I told you to call me ‘Duchess,’ Ashes.”
I pulled my mouth up into a fake smile, “Yes, of course, Duchess.”
She let out a hum before twisting to look up at the clock and tutting lightly, “It is far too late for you to join us at the ball, Ashes. I’m afraid you’ll have to stay behind tonight.”
I twitched slightly at her words, indignant on my character's behalf. For tonight, she said. More like for the rest of your existence.
I wasn't particularly looking forward to meeting the prince charming of this story, but I was looking forward to my entrance at the ball. At the very least, I would get to see her shocked and dismayed face then. Though that was only a little comfort, considering it wasn’t actually going to be ‘Ashes’ who finally bested this woman.
The fan was yanked from under my chin, and she made sure to drag its sharp corner along my skin before finishing pulling it away as she smiled at me, “Be sure to finish your chores, ‘Dear.’”
She stepped away, turning in a swirl of rich but gaudy fabrics as I watched her stalk out of the kitchen and to her smirking daughter’s side, “And remember, tomorrow the prince will be visiting to declare his intentions to my daughter.”
My daughter. Not your sister.
But that was fine. In no way did I want to be accused of being related to the caution orange monstrosity of tulle that was the wicked step-sister of this tale.
I bowed my head, idly wondering what my fairy godmother would look and be like as I murmured my response, “Yes, Duchess.”
The two women left, trailing shrill laughter behind them as they swept out of the room, and I sat back.
As I recalled, the fairy godmother usually showed up right after Cinderella’s heart was broken, which did make me wonder if she would even show up.
According to the plot, she should, but I was hardly heartbroken.
But that was fine. I’d found a dress in the attic that was a perfect match for my size that was no doubt left by the previous lady of this house.
Ashes’s mother.
Changing didn’t take long, and I glanced at the clock as I walked through the house. The only question now was how, exactly, I was going to get to the palace without a pumpkin carriage to take me there.
I stepped out of the house, glancing around and feeling my eyebrows raise as I spotted a carriage that was parked right outside the house. A little bit too handy to be a coincidence, as the man in front waved me over.
“You must be a lady of this house. We’ll have to hurry to get you to the ball on time, my dear,” He smiled warmly, and I felt myself grin back at him before clambering into the carriage and sitting as it took off.
I frowned at the box next to me, though, immediately suspicious as I leaned out the window, “This box… Are you delivering it?”
The man shook his head, “No, ma’am, that would be for you. Some faerie stopped by and left it here, saying the lady who took this carriage to the palace would need it.”
I frowned at it, feeling my eyebrows lift before I carefully opened the box to reveal delicate glass slippers.
I felt myself laugh slightly; I supposed it wouldn’t really be a Cinderella fairytale without at least one gift from a fairy godmother after all.
And, just like a perfect fairytale, they fit like a dream and were impossibly comfortable despite their design.
I found myself shaking my head and smoothing back out the full, layered skirts of my dress, idly wondering about what this prince charming was going to be like.
Probably perfectly handsome, in a brilliant white suit, and totally at odds with the young men I’d gotten so used to being around at NRC. And there was nothing wrong with that. In fact, that would make him someone that I’d want for this story’s protagonist.
Ashes deserved someone who would be good to her in ways that she had experienced since her childhood, when her father and mother were still alive.
It didn’t seem like I’d been in the carriage hardly anytime at all when it rolled to a stop and the coachman leaned around, a smile on his face that somehow reminded me of Cater, even though he looked nothing like the ginger-haired young man, “Here’s your stop, ma’am. And good luck on winning the prince’s heart.”
I felt myself smile at him as I stepped out of the carriage, noticing that its roundness really did make it appear like a pumpkin.
“It looks like I’m going to be fashionably late,” I was surprised to find that I felt oddly nervous as I looked up at the grandiose staircase that led up into the sparkling palace just ahead.
He leaned down, winking at me lightly, “All the better for making an entrance, I say. Now, farewell, my lady.”
And with that, he snapped his reins once, and the carriage pulled away as I started up the staircase, at first slowly and then trotting, as my skirt fanned out around me.
Sets of doors after sets of doors were opened for me as I hurried through the palace, idly checking clocks as I went. Even I knew that the magic would wear off at midnight, and if I wanted this story to move forward, I needed to meet the prince before then, at the ball.
And right now, even as I filled the role of the princess in this story and even looked the part for once, ending this story was still my best chance of returning home outside of relying wholly on my friends to get me out.
I found my pace slowing, though, as I approached a particularly ornate set of double doors in front of which two men stood. Both of them looked my way and nodded slightly before they opened the doors silently for me. Revealing the glittering spectacle of a ball that was spread out in front of me as I walked out on a dais from which two sets of stairs fanned out.
I could see the musicians getting ready, but they obviously hadn’t started playing yet, which meant I’d made it before the prince had made his choice of partner.
I swallowed thickly, letting one hand rest on the stair’s gently curving rail while the other reached to lift my skirts, just enough for me to slowly step down the stairs and the rest of the way into the brightly lit ballroom.
I exhaled softly, bracing myself to meet Prince Charming when I saw him, and somehow, instead of being surprised, I only smiled.
His eyes were wide as he took a few, almost hesitant steps towards me before he smiled in return from across the room.
Guests parted around him, their confusion evident as he walked towards me at my quick pace and heads turned, their eyes landing on me as he slowed and came to a gentle stop right in front of me, “I finally found you.”
His voice was so soft, and I laughed slightly, shaking my head in slight disbelief until I found my voice, “Deuce… I didn’t even know you were here. Did you get sucked into this story at the same time I did?”
He nodded, glancing down and making a slight face before he looked up at me once more, “Yeah…  I’ve been looking for you ever since so we could get out of here, but I’ve also been getting forced to act like a prince…..”
He trailed off, and I laughed slightly, tilting my head at him, “Well, you look like a perfect prince.”
He brightened at my words, though he also looked a little bashful before he nodded slightly, “And you look like a real princess, Y/n!”
He reached out, taking my hands in his, and I heard music start up almost immediately, causing my eyes to widen and glance over towards the musician right as one of the men from the top of the staircase spoke up, “His Highness has chosen his partner!”
I looked back towards Deuce, only to find him looking around just as startled as I was, “I don’t know how to dance though….”
I squeezed his hands lightly, pulling his gaze back to me with just that slight gesture, “Hey, we’ll do it together.”
I watched as he blinked at me slightly before nodding, a determined glint entering his gaze, “Right, together.”
And with that, we shifted, spiraling across the floor with unpracticed motions that somehow seemed oddly perfect. They fit the two of us. Two people who weren’t originally from this story but had still ended up swept up in the tale.
As the music trailed off, we came to a slow stop, with his arms wrapping around me as we both laughed slightly. Perhaps from the giddiness of having danced in front of an entire group of people, or maybe from the ridiculousness of us being in a fairytale such as this one.
And then, as I leaned against him, the lights seemed to brighten and turn the entire ballroom white.
I closed my eyes, pressing my face into Deuce’s shoulder as his grip on me tightened until, at last, I chanced opening my eyes only to find the glittering spectacle of the ballroom gone.
I sat back, startled, and my motions caused Deuce to jolt slightly, his own eyes opening as we looked up at the Heartslabyul students around where we knelt on the floor of the school’s library.
“Guys! How-”
“We just closed the book,” Ace was shaking his head at us, his arms crossed as he looked down at us, and I blinked as his stare shifted over to Deuce and he snorted.
“Next time, instead of diving in after the Prefect, use your head, and maybe they won’t be trapped in a book for so long.”
Deuce frowned, straightening from his seated position, “Hey! I had to do something!”
And just like that, the two of them started bickering. But I felt a light tap on my shoulder that had me turning as Cater smiled down at me, “So what was being a princess like?”
I blinked at his words before a smile slowly started to crawl across my face, half in amusement and half in genuine happiness that I’d gotten to experience such a magical little story.
I looked over at Deuce as I smiled, realizing I’d probably never get to see him dressed up like a prince or dance with him like that ever again. And those, at the very least, were two memories I’d treasure for the rest of my life.
And when I answered Cater, I was still smiling, half-wishing we could have made it to the end of the story. It had felt like we’d only just gotten to the good part after all.
“Like a fairytale.”

Hey! Just wondering if you could suggest some romantic/rom-com movies💖
Have a great day❤️🌼
Oh my goodness, I certainly can!! Thank you, bby! 💖💖
10 of my favorite romantic comedies:
(In no particular order.)
1. 10 Things I Hate About You
An absolute perfect movie. Dialogue, casting, story, romance, Heath Ledger, Shakespeare references, what more could a literary inclined girl want?
Tumblr media
2. A Cinderella Story
Another gift from the early 2000s. Is it cheesy? Sometimes. Is it adorable? Absolutely.
Tumblr media
3. He's Just Not That Into You
Hilarious, sometimes heartbreaking, ensemble cast, but the endings for each couple are undoubtedly satisfying. Plus, my favorite rewind moment of all time:
Tumblr media
4. Crazy, Stupid Love
Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Steve Carrell, Josh Groban cameo. Need I say more? (But it will also unexpectedly grip your heart with profound, tender moments.)
Tumblr media
5. While You Were Sleeping
One of my favorite Sandra Bullock rom coms, of which there are many. (Honorary mentions: The Proposal, Practical Magic, Two Weeks Notice, and Miss Congeniality, though it's not really a rom com is one of my favorite movies in existence.)
Tumblr media
6. You've Got Mail
A classic of classics in rom com history. Meg Ryan at her best, Tom Hanks at his. She's a small, independent bookstore owner. He's essentially Barnes & Noble, coming in to disrupt New York with corporate America.
Tumblr media
7. Mrs. Winterbourne
A forgotten '90s Brendan Fraser must-see movie. He's the "rich playboy" type, she's scrappy and resourceful, pregnant by her deadbeat ex-boyfriend, and pretending to be the widow of Fraser's twin brother, who recently died in a train accident.
Tumblr media
8. Crazy Rich Asians
Based on a book, top-tier casting, bad ass mother-in-law, bad ass heroine, a classy, handsome, Good Man™️ hero? Sign me TF up.
Tumblr media
9. 13 Going on 30
Easily Jennifer Garner's best movie, but also Mark freakin' Ruffalo. They're adorable together, and this one's a classic in its own right, full of heart, back-stabbing bitches, and 80s music references.
Tumblr media
10. My Big Fat Greek Wedding
It's one of the best, folks. Also one of the most quotable movies in movie history lol. As a kid, I remember really identifying with Toula, who feels too plain, too big, too "frump girl."
But Ian never saw her that way. He genuinely laughs at her jokes. He's patient with her and sees her beauty, inside and out. He also deals with a lot of crap from her family in order to be with her, with all the grace and gentlemanly poise a guy could have.
And Toula learns to love herself, fall in love for the first time, and challenges every expectation of her family to do so.
Tumblr media
I have many, many more, but these are just a few of my favorites. What's yours?
Don't see it on this list? Drop it in the comments! 💋

Cinderella story
Anthony Bridgerton x reader
summary:  Y/n lost her father when she was very young, being in the care of her stepmother and sisters. However, they started to treat her like a maid. Unable to attend the ball the Bridgerton family is hosting, Y/n tries to find ways to go, even if it is against the wish of her stepmother. There she meets Anthony who is in search of a wife, but will he continue to want to be with her after finding out who she is
a/n: i’m so not happy with this, anyway sorry for the long wait :/
part 1   part 2   part 3
Tumblr media
"I do not care! I want to look for all the houses! For all the village! Through the ball! Anthony exclaimed to his family, who heard him for about 20 minutes with wide eyes and a shocked expression. The Viscount, the one who always swore he didn't want to marry, being dependent on someone, was losing his mind about a woman he didn't even know the name.
"Oh, he got it bad." Colin whistled under his breath to Benedict who tried to drown out a chuckle with his hand. Daphne, who was also next to Colin, gave him an elbow to shut up. Anyway, if Anthony heard him, he preferred to ignore him.
"And how are you going to do that, Anthony?" Violet asked, trying to stop her lips from turning up in a smile.
Her oldest son, finally finding someone to accompany him for the rest of his life, ending some worries of her. Although she never met the woman for whom her son was crazy for, when she saw them dance she remembered of her and Edmund. Love at first sight. It was as if they had become people around them, looking into each other's eyes with so much love that tears even came to her eyes.
"Exactly. It's not like you can break the door of all houses of town to find your mysterious woman. You'll have unwanted people's attention. Lady Whistledown has written about you, everyone is looking for her."
"Challenge me." he said to Eloise, looking at her with such determination that the family was in doubt if he would really do that. "I don't want another ball, another woman. I want her. Only her. As my wife, Viscountess and mother of my children. You can be sure I will do everything to find her."
And it wasn't a surprise when he did just that.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Y/n was locked in her room for three days. Her stomach grunted from hunger since her stepmother only left her a bread in the morning and at night, already dry but that she ate without complain. Many would have worse than her, she kept remiding herself.
One of the things that had entertained her from the boredom of the days was remembering her night with Anthony. It was as if she could still feel his hand on her waist, the proximity between them. Y/N's breath was stuck in her throat every time she remembered and a flush appeared on her cheeks.
She still made a few short visits to the house, making it seem less of a prisoner, though it was only to clean or cook for her sisters. Time seemed to pass slowly. Every day was the same. Her body was sore from sleeping on the hard floor, now even more so since she didn't walk that much due to being confined to such a small space.
Her stepmother hadn't given her any further updates on what was happening in the village after the ball. Y/n knew she was naive to think Viscount had taken an interest in her, and little did she know how wrong she was. For at that moment, Anthony Bridgerton was knocking on every door in the village, rich or poor, looking for the girl who consumed his thoughts every moment of the day.
Finally, he reached the last houses where he could find the mystery girl. He couldn't deny that his hope was waning with every person he encountered who wasn't who he wanted, despite motivating comments from Benedict and Collin, who accompanied him (mostly to ensure he didn't do anything reckless or stupid).
He straightened his suit, knocking on the door of the Y/l/n mansion. Y/n's stepmother opened the doo, a shocked look crossing his face when he saw the Bridgertons before she masked it with a huge smile, immediately giving him a small bow.
"Lord Viscount, it is an honor to have you in my humble home. Gentleman." she added when she saw Anthony's brothers. "Oh, were are my manners. Please come in."
"Thank you, Lady Y/l/n. I apologize for showing up unannounced, but the matter is urgent. I would like to know if you have any daughters, maybe sisters? We would deeply appreciate it if we could meet them, again, the matter is urgent." Anthony explained with a small polite smile, despite having had enough of repeating the same conversation.
Furthermore, as people soon expected that he was talking about the woman he danced with at the ball, the young girls pretended to be her her, as if he would n't see their lie from her.
Obviously he would notice. They didn't have the delicacy that Y/n had, the flame in their eyes, the prettiest smile he'd ever seen. He would do anything to see that smile again. He soon accepted that she had him wrapped around her finger, as her siblings teased him without stopping since that night. But Anthony couldn't care less. He wanted her, her secrets, her imperfections, her bravery, her kindness. Everything. He wanted all parts of her.
"In fact I do have two daughters. I shall bring them here immediately."
Hope filled his chest again only to be destroyed when he saw two young women, with eccentric hairstyles who let out little squeals when they learned of Bridgerton's presence in their house. Y/n's two stepsisters competed against each other as they raced to try to be the first to get ahead of Anthony,
Collin and Benedict both chuckled as they watched the scene unfold, only to be silenced when Anthony sent them a murderous glare, raising their hands in surrender.
"Lord Bridgerton." the older sister bowed, pushing the other girl with her hip and showing the men an innocent smile. The two started to bicker between them while their mother spoke to the Bridgerton, telling them all about her 'talented' daughters.
The Viscount ran a hand over his tired face, offering the woman a smile before offering the excuse that it was time to leave, but that he was grateful for their hospitality. The three Bridgertons made their way out of the house, but stopped when they reached their horses and heard a soft voice sing the tune of a song Anthony knew by heart. The song that accompanied the dance between him and Y/n.
Tumblr media
Y/n was taking up her time cleaning her room, the dust making her sneeze and preventing her from getting a full night's rest. She found herself humming the melody of a song, twirling as Anthony had done to her when they danced. A small smile appeared on her face, as it always did when she remembered her night with the Viscount.
She knew she shouldn't think about him, but how could she not when he looked at her like she was the only woman in the room. He made her feel so beautiful. It was a strange feeling for Y/n, being so comfortable in the presence of a man and wanting to be with him. Her mind navigated to different places as she swung around, continuing to hum the song absently. She was grateful for the breeze that entered her room due to the open window, a layer of sweat already covering her forehead.
But everything came to a stop when she heard the voice of the man who made his way to her heart. It couldn't be, she thought, That's it, I finally have gone crazy. However, she heard that voice again. Recovering from the shock, she bent down a little and walked silently to the window. She stuck her head out, trying to understand what was happening. And much to her surprise her, Anthony Bridgerton was at her house, talking with her stepmother.
"It seems you have another lady in your house." Anthony clenched his jaw, noticing how the woman opened her mouth but no words came out. He looked at the cat peeking through the half-open door, "Or have your cat learned how to sing?" he asked sarcastically.
"Lady Y/l/n, is any other lady living at your house?" Collin questioned, keeping his cool before his older brother got into trouble.
"Well, yes..." Y/n's stepmother admitted when he couldn't come up with a convincing enough excuse especially when it looked like the brothers were running out of patience. But she was quick to add, "But she is only a maid. You certainly don't want to talk to her. I was just saving your time, my lord."
"I can decide in what I will waste my time. Now, please, bring me the maid." Anthony asked, though everyone understood that it was more of a demand that the Lady could not refuse. She gave them an unsure smile, bowing before hurrying to Y/n's room.
When she heard the key in the lock, Y/n jumped away from the window, standing in the middle of the room confused as to what was happening when her stemother grabbed her elbow and dragged her down the stairs to the living room where the Bridgertons would be waiting. .
"You will keep your head down, not talk to them or reveal who you are. The Viscount Bridgerton wished to meet you, but you cannot let him know you are the one of the ball. You will not ruin the chance of one of my daughters becoming a Bridgerton, little girl. As your mother, I forbid you."
“You never were, and never will be my mother.” Y/n whispered but loud enough for her to hear, emotions laced in her voice as she fought back tears.
With a little push, Y/n walked into the living room, seeing Anthony standing a little farther away, his back to her. Her steomother couldn't be with her since Benedict and Collin blocked her entry, fake smiles on their faces as they asked her questions to engage in a conversation while Anthony talked to Y/n.
Hearing noise behind him, Anthony turned, her mouth opening in admiration at the sight of her. He found her, he was sure. He couldn't take his eyes off her. Y/n looked down, self-conscious of how bad her hair looked, just having brushed it a few days ago, her cheap blue dress full of dirt and in poor condition compared to the immaculate outfit Anthony wore.
But Anthony didn't notice any of that. He was focused on her eyes that seemed to look anywhere but him, her rosy cheeks, her plump lips. She was perfect for him.
"It's you." he whispered, taking a step forward, but stopped when he wasn't sure what to do next.
"Am I the one you danced at the ball? Yes, I am." she let out a nervous chuckle. She started walking slowly towards him who seemed to be stuck in place. "But I have no carriage. No diamonds. No fancy dresses. No parents. Will you accept me as I am. A simple country girl who loves you." she seemed to gasp as she realized the revelation she had made.
"Of course I will." he sounded breathless. "Only if you accept me as I am. A viscount who is still learning how to accept love. But I want to do it with you by my side."
Y/N smiled, gasping as he felt Anthony's hands on her waist, bringing her closer to him. Their foreheads touched, Anthony nuzzling her nose with his, savoring that moment knowing she finally had the woman he loved in his arms. Only their breaths could be heard although Y/n was sure Anthony could have her heart beating against her chest.
"May I kiss you?" he whispered, their lips almost touching. His hand caressed her cheek, smiling when he felt her nodding.
However, much to Anthony's annoyance, Y/n sisters ran to the room, bowing when they saw Y/n and the Bridgerton intimate position. "My sister. I'm sorry."
"Please forgive us." the other one added.
The girl looked at them, remembering all the moments they spent together. Y/n didn’t speak and that made clear how she standed. She intertwined her hand with Anthony's, the smile never fading from her lips.
"Shall we?" he questioned, pointing to the exit. He walked hand in hand with Y/n, unable to stop the feeling of pure delight and love that invaded his body. Meanwhile, the same happened to her Y/n and her stepmother, who begged for her not even forgiveness after Y/n would be the future Viscountess, could ruin her happiness.
"Welcome to the family, sister!" Collin exclaimed as he climbed onto his horse and Anthony helped her onto his. Loud laughter escaped her, her head tilting back slightly.
Anthony was in pure adoration, he was sure his heart was going to explode from love. He wanted to hear that sound for the rest of his life and would do the impossible to make it happen. Her kindness and happiness were contagious and he couldn't wait to see their future.
He then climbed onto the horse behind Y/n and brought her closer to him, if that was even possible. He finally had her, and he would never let her go.

2 years later
Nicholas Edmund Bridgerton was running happily in the gardens of the Bridgerton summer house, being chased by his uncles while Anthony's sisters tried to help to hide the little boy. Anthony watched their game intently from his seat, resting after his siblings had taken his place playing with his son.
Anthony admired his son, his laughter warming up his heart. He was like a copy of his mother. Kind and brave with a free spirit that he definitely acquired from Y/n. A hand on his shoulder brought him out of his thoughts. Anthony turned his head, seeing his very pregnant wife behind him. Carefully, he guided her in front of him, pulling her onto his lap and immediately placing a hand on her swollen belly.
"And how are you, Viscountess Bridgerton. Did you sleep weel?" he asked with a small kiss to her lips.
"In fact I did, Viscount Bridgerton. The little one seems to only wish to sleep during the day. I guess that after you speak to her at night she gets all excited." she teased him.
"It could be a boy." he remembered her.
"I have a feeling it's a girl. Either way, they will be very loved."
"We do make pretty babies." Anthony whispered starting to kiss her her neck, tracing it with her nose, satisfied when he felt her shiver under him.
"Indeed we do, my dear husband."
"Mommy! Mommy! Daddy!" a small voice called out to them, breaking their momentum. Nick's little legs moved quickly for him to get closer to his parents and show them the flowers he'd picked. "Look, I picked them for the baby."
"They are beautiful, baby." Y/n said, letting him land them on her belly and kiss it. Tears filled her eyes which she quickly dried, mumbling how the pregnancy made her so sensitive.
Anthony brought the boy into his arms, looking at the two most important people in his life as Y/n asked their son how his day had been. They were his family, and he was so damn proud of that.
"I love you, Y/n Thank you. For everything."
"I love you, Anthony. Forever."

Cinderella story jasico au, because my mind turns all 00's movies into a jasico fic. And please, Chad Michael Murray in the 2000s is one of my favorite Jason fancasts.
Nico's father dies after marrying a terrible woman, and that woman makes Nico's life hell after that, as does his brother (Bryce Lawrence? Yes). Nico has to do everything around the house alone, work in the cafeteria his father left for her, do his brother's school work, sleep in an old attic...
Jason plays football at school, even though he hates it, and is the most popular boy. His father has a lot of money and expects Jason to work at his company in the future, and for that he needs to get a college scholarship to play football.
So Jason and Nico meet on the internet with anonymous profiles (tumblr, twitter? something like that) and the only good part of their days is when they are talking. Jason writes beautiful poems for Nico and says that his dream is to be a writer, but that his father would never let him. And Nico's dream is to go to college, preferably to study art, and leave his horrible family behind.
So at the school’ halloween party they arrange to meet since everyone will be in costumes and hiding their faces. It turns out that Jason's costume has a problem and he has to go dressed as a prince, so he doesn't hide his face at all. Nico’s step mother doesn’t wanna let him go to the party because Bryce says Nico should just stay and work. But Will, Nico’s best friend, and Rachel (I’m aging her a bit here bc this character is perfect for her) that works at the cafeteria and it’s like the only family Nico has- they help him find a last minute costume and go to the party to meet this boy he talks about all the time. When Nico arrives at the party and sees Jason, he freaks out and says it was a mistake. But Jason convinces him that he's not the person everyone thinks he is, that he's only himself when he’s talking to Nico and so asks for a chance for them to talk more that night. They make a game of each having 5 questions and later they dance together (this scene is beautiful in the movie, if I knew how to draw I would make a jasico art of this scene fr), but when the clock hits midnight, Nico needs to leave or his stepmother will find out that he ran away to the party.
After that, Jason puts up signs at school looking for this mysterious boy and Nico tells Will and Rachel that he can never tell Jason it's him because if Jason knew he would humiliate him with his friends in front of everybody. By texts Jason is trying to convince Nico to meet with him, but Nico always avoids him.
But Bryce ends up seeing the messages between Jason and Nico and spreads it to the whole school, and Nico is even more bullied than he already is. People even make a little little sketch mocking Nico saying he was stupid for thinking he could pull off a boy like Jason. And Jason is kind of unresponsive to all of that, hurt that Nico did not tell him who he was because he thought he would be mean to him even after knowing Jason better than anyone else.
On top of all that, Nico’s stepmother finds his college letter before him and sees that he was accepted, so she fakes a letter saying he was not accepted, and gives it to him saying that then it’s good that he has a job at the cafeteria.
After a while feeling like shit, Nico decides that enough is enough, so he leaves his horrible house and go live with Rachel. He’s like: yes, my life sucks, but at least I’m the one making my own rules now. Seeing he’s feeling better, at least a little, Will asks if he doesn’t wanna go watch the futebol game since it’s the last. Nico thinks a little, but finally agrees. During this time, Jason’s life is not doing much better either, because he realizes that he should've stick up for Nico, but at the same time he’s afraid of what his father might do.
But with that boost of confidence and wanting to fix all the things that went wrong in his life because he was afraid of taking the reins of his life, Nico goes after Jason to finish this once and for all. Before the game starts, he walks into the locker room hearing a bunch of homophobic and stupid comments as he walks up to Jason, but he ignores it. Jason is a bit shocked seeing him there, but Nico doesn’t even give him the chance to start talking first.
Nico: You turned out to be exactly who I thought you were. I never pretended to be somebody else. It’s been me all along. And it was me who was hurt in front of everybody. Look, I didn’t come here to yell at you, okay? I came here to tell you that I know what it feels like to be afraid to show who you are. I was, but I’m not anymore. And the thing is, I really don’t care what people think about me, because I believe in myself, and I know that things are gonna be okay. And even though I have no family, and no job, and no money for college- it’s you that I feel sorry for.”
Random guy:5 minutes everyone.
Jason, still looking at Nico: I’m coming!
Nico gives a sad smile: I know that guy that sent me those emails is somewhere there inside of you. But I can’t wait for him. Because waiting for you is like waiting for rain in this drought: useless and disappointing (this line literally altered my brain chemistry when I was a kid).
Nico turns and leaves, while Jason stands there. He tries to call Nico’s name, but doesn't even know what he would say if Nico had turned back to listen him.
*sad music playing* (god I love this scene so fucking much!) So they leave for the game, and Nico thinks he’s doing alright watching from the bleachers, and Jason thinks he’s doing okay after that talk, but he can’t concentrate. Everyone is cheering and screaming Jason’s name, and it slowly just becomes too much for Nico, so he turns to Will and says he needs to go. When Jason looks at the audience and sees Nico leaving, he can feel that if in that moment he doesn’t make his first decision in his entire life that he made for himself, he will regret this moment for the rest of his life. So he runs out of the game and gives his helmet and position to his friend. His father stops him and says: What are you doing?!
Jason: I’m out of here.
His father: What?! But you are throwing away your dream.
Jason: No dad, I’m throwing away yours.
Jason runs to Nico leaving on the top of the bleachers.
Nico looks at him confused: What are you doing?
Jason: Something I should have done a long time ago.
And then he kisses Nico for the first time, and in that second the first drop of rain after months of drought falls (very son of Zeus coded I know, and that literally happens in the movie!). They both look up at the sky and a thunder rumbles loudly.
Jason looks back at Nico smiling: I’m sorry I waited for the rain. (literally altered my brain chemistry too)
And so a storm starts while they kiss, not even caring about the rain or people watching.
After that, while Nico is taking his last boxes out of his stepmother’s house to finish moving to Racel’s, he finds his dad real testament and discovers that he let everything for him, so he kicks Bryce and his mom out, leaves the cafeteria for Rachel to take care of, and goes to college with Jason.

And now, a core memory
I watched Cinderella 2015 with my mother in the theaters when it came out. Just me and my mom. Which I don’t believe had ever happened before or since: I’m one of a large family, and we always do everything in big groups, so going with just her was special.
I was not interested in Cinderella 2015, because it wasn’t until 2019 that Cinderella (the character) became my favorite Princess. I don’t even think I was conscious of the fact that this Cinderella was a Disney-specific remake, since Cinderella stories have been done so many times.
I don’t know if it was being there with just my mom made the movie special, or if the specialness of the movie made being there with just my mom special. But oh my goodness, I will always think of when Cinderella spins around in the dress, and she just keeps spinning, and the filmmakers hold that moment and with every spin it gets more breathtaking. My mom literally gasped like a little girl in the theater. We said at the same time “That DRESS!” Which is important because I don’t care about dresses. It takes quite the dress to make me comment on a dress.
Tumblr media
I mean, that’s important, in terms of film making. That movie got a teenager and her middle-aged mother to both feel the same amount of excitement and wonder Cinderella herself was feeling when her dress transforms.
