Syd x Carmy: The creation of Eros

This is the great gift of eros: through your own creative ordeal, you are given the ability to relate with others’ secret heart -x.

I'm really inspired by the chaos the show creates.

There's also something incredibly sexy about the syd and carmy ship. Since chefs are known for their passionate nature. It's erotic that two lonely souls who don't know how to connect really outside their field, finding each other in this environment of disarray and create something meaningful together. Because eros is the son of chaos in Greek mythology.

It's Syd and Carmy connecting through their senses that's also erotic. It's the two of them being present in their act of creation. It's fire.

All that being said…

I hope to see moments of intimacy through food, interchanges of love scenes with cooking. I want to see them laughing and really exploring each other as they would the menu. I want to see Carmy and syd share dialogue that interchanges with their act of cooking and intimacy.

I want to see hands.

Give me a well lit cinemotography like the table scene. Sunlight, romantic lighting, a good background song.

Give me the ballad version of 'last train home' a call back to the first season episode .

I want full-on connection when this ship becomes cannon. I want the art of creating eros.

i dont think i could rewatch s1 if i tried so i might remember incorrectly but i thought the camera work was so much worse this season. there were far too many close ups, kaz's backstory felt strange and awkwardly shot, and then the whole debate about whether or not nina and matthias fucked kinda solidifies that if they had any kind of artistic direction with cinemotography this season they really missed the mark

I haven't seen s1 since it came out but you're right, I would have remembered if it was this bad. I know for a fact the flashbacks looked way better, so there's that. Controversial opinion but while Freddy and Amita worked well together, the camerawork was SO not intimate or emotional enough to translate it that I mostly felt awkward. The scene where he is slowly taking her knives could have been SO hot, but the camerawork was boring and the light was so bad I couldn't get into it at all. F in the chat

House Harkonnen

At the beginning of Dune, the family responsible for mining spice on Arrakis is the Harkonnen family.

The homeworld for this family is massively industrial and polluted, meaning they had done such a good job stripping their own planet of its natural resources the emperor thought they would be perfect for mining Arrakis.

House Harkonnen is asked to leave Arrakis at the beginning of the Dune story because they were stealing spice to sell on the side instead of giving it all to the emperor.

House Atreides

As one of the most popular of the Great Houses in the universe, Duke Leto Atreides and the rest of his family have built a reputation for doing the right thing and helping those in need.

They are incredibly popular, and it is believed that if they run the mining operations on Arrakis it would keep everyone in spice for a very long time.

Fremen

The native people of Arrakis are a tribal people dedicated to living in harmony with the planet, which frequently makes outsiders see them as supernatural or even magical for being able to survive in the desert and coexist with the massive sandworms.

Fremen are usually easy to spot, as they all have spent so much time with spice in the air, water and food they have developed deep blue eyes. The whole eye is blue, not just the retina, and they call this the Eyes of Ibad.

You'll also see Fremen wielding a crysknife, a sacred weapon forged from the tooth of a giant sandworm.

Bene Gesserit

There's an intergalactic guild of supernaturally enhanced womenin this universe, called the Bene Gesserit. Among many other things, these women can alter the chemical composition of their own bodies to create poisons and manipulate others through a power of suggestion called The Voice. This collection of abilities is frequently referred to as The Weirding Way, and even includes a particularly lethal form of combat. The BeneGesserit are frequently revered as holy women, cursed as spies or witches, and generally feared and respected everywhere.

It's extremely rare for a man to be taught the ways of the Bene Gesserit, much less be particularly good at using their abilities, because they're extremely careful with their breeding and picking who gets trained.
