Lia Urdnot-Shepard
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This lovely lady is one of my friend @dramaqueenharley’s triplets.
Backstory - Colonist.
Background - Sole Survivor.
Class - Sentinel with a specialisation in Throw, Warp and Barrier. She can also use a dirty trick or two due to being raised by Wrex.
Alignment - Paragon with some losses of temper.
Lover(s) - Many, including Nihlus, Garrus and James. She has a lot of love to give.
Best Friend(s) - Tali, Nakmor Kesh (who is like a big sister to the trio) and Joker (who is their cousin).
Lia and her siblings, Lana and John, were celebrating their 8th birthday on Mindoir, when the colony was attacked. Luckily, Wrex happened to be in the area on a bounty hunt, when he caught the tail end of an SOS while refuelling in a nearby cluster. He travelled to Mindoir in hopes of seeing if there are any survivors and scavenging some scrap in case his ship needed repairs. Instead, he encounters three terrified, high-on-adrenaline kiddos. He immediately rescues them, taking them off world and to the Citadel, where he eventually ends up adopting them. Lia and her siblings completed the Urdnot Rite as they entered adulthood, and while they didn’t manage to kill the Thresher Maw outright, it was found dead 2 days later.
Lia tries to be stoic while on the clock, but during her down time she's a bit more free with her emotions. And she will help someone if she has the ability to do so without hurting herself. She will straight up knock someone on their ass if she sees harassment of any kind.
Possibly due to her experience with Maws, she is the sole survivor from Akuze. She has a habit of biotically yeeting people in high-stress situations, and actually ended up defenestrating Kahoku when he, Anderson and Alex Ryder came to Akuze to search for survivors (Anderson did warn him not to just barge in).
She had a fling with Spectre Nihlus Kryik during a week of shore leave before the shakedown run on the Normandy, however they only exchanged nicknames, so you can imagine the awkwardness when they come face to face on the mission.
After dealing with the Crucible, Lia’s soul is yeeted into Thedas, where she spends a lifetime (though this was actually 4 months in a coma).

What was England's first overseas colony?
🤔🤔🤔🤔
The plantations of Ireland would probably be the first, beginning in the 1550s, during the reign of Queen Mary I, although these initial plantations were largely unsuccessful due to fierce resistance from native Irish clans.
The more successful plantation of Ulster began in the 1610s, during the reign of James I, and would establish the ancestors of protestant Northern Irish population we see today.
Meanwhile, English overseas colonies were also established beyond the British isles.
From the 1490s onwards, English fishermen began using Newfoundland for seasonal fishing. The area of St John's was officially claimed for England in 1583. However, a permanent English settlement wasn't established on Newfoundland until until 1610.
In 1578, Martin Frobisher made a failed attempt to establish a settlement at Frobisher Bay in modern day Canada (he also claimed Greenland, renaming it “West England”).
Sir Francis Drake claimed part of what is now California in 1579, naming it New Albion. There is limited evidence of an attempt to establish a colony there. However, it's extremely unlikely that the attempt was actually ever made.
The first indisputable English attempt to establish a colony in the Americas after the Frobisher Bay incident, is at Roanoke Island (modern day North Carolina).
The first attempt to settle Roanoke was made in 1585, and (troubled by poor supplies and poor relations with the local Native Americans) it was abandoned the following year.
A second attempt to settle Roanoke was made in 1587, where the first white British person to be born in North America (Virginia Dare) was brought into the world.
However, when a supply ship arrived in 1590, the colonists had all mysteriously vanished.
The fate of the approximately 112–121 colonists remains unknown.
The first successful, permanent English colony in the Americas was Jamestown, Virgina, in 1607.
Pictured: The only clue to the mysterious vanishing of the Roanoke Colonists was the word “Croatoan” carved into a tree.

Here is the Corup, the sentient species I made in my second Let’s Play of Spore on YouTube. Yes, they lack eyes, but that doesn’t impair the player in any way after the Creature Stage ends. Even adventures in the Space Stage with Galactic Adventures don’t limit your sight if your character lacks eyes.
That Let's Play was a genocide run, but I used looser terms than killing everything and just made no allies.
They use extrasensory perception to compensate for their lack of eyes.
The way they think would be similar to those of humans, but their first reaction to the unknown is to hate it rather than initially fearing it like humans. This psychology is in their DNA, so there's nothing that can be done about it.
In case it’s not obvious, the top is what they naturally look like while the bottom is what Corup Colonists of the Corup Empire wear.

He was remembered in The Brisbane Courier as an honourable but persistently unlucky gentleman.
Mr. Uhr had a very eventful career, having met in his time with even more of the "ups and downs" than usually attend the lives of colonists. He was a large squatter when squatting was by no means the easy life that it now is, but when the pastoral farmers of Australia were in reality the pioneers of civilisation, and when it was almost a constant struggle against the aborigines for very existence.

For part 3 of @dramaqueenharley’s Shepard Triplets, we have a wonderful man named John.
