Clones As Things My Friends Have Said:
Wolffe: If I don’t have my coffee in the next few seconds this whole place is going to shit
Kix: So sorry, there’s no cure for pure stupidity. Or for being a dumbass. Sorry for the inconvenience, have a nice day!
Fives: There goes my maturity, straight out the window! …Oh no, it crashed somewhere on Uranus
Echo: Everyone keeps telling me that my twin is so well-behaved and competent and I’m just holding back the urge to show them a picture of him eating shampoo out of an open container because it was dark and he thought it was melted ice cream.
Hardcase: So uh. Good news and bad news. The good news is, we have an excuse to finally cook our food properly! The bad news… we maybe kinda blew up the microwave. Oh, and the pizza oven. Sorry about that.
Jesse: I wish I could say I was the mostly sane one out of these people but sadly I cannot. Echo has that title. Maybe because I tangled all his cables so badly that he spent two hours untangling each one of them. He still hasn’t forgiven me for that one.
Howzer: Life keeps hitting me with bricks. I would throw some bricks back but I’m definitely a sweetheart and throwing bricks doesn’t sound like something a sweetheart would do.
Tup: Help I tried to be Ariel and now there’s a fork stuck in my hair. Please help me I can’t get it out-
Rex: Remind me why I’m here, please? I don’t remember getting in trouble with all of you, but I guess I have to back you up now…
Crosshair: A conscience? What’s that? …A voice in your head? That sounds like a mental illness, not something encouraging you to be good.
Hunter: Can a butter knife be a murder weapon?
Tech: I am surrounded by pathetic, less-than-competent onion skins with the brain capacity of a small-sized potato salad. …Hey, it’s better than calling you all idiots.

Funny thing happened while watching Ashoka series tonight
[SPOILER FREE]
We had to split watching the first episodes of the Ashoka series over two nights for [reasons] and I've accepted there are three very different levels of Star Wars knowledge in my family.
There's my dad who's been a fan of the franchise for "a million years" (to keep in line with how my family jokes about his age even though he'll never see this post hahaha). I've asked him a lot of questions about the comic issues he's read over the years. He's even bought issues of comics for some of my favorite characters just so I could read them. (Thanks Dad🥺🩷)
There's me, who's fairly/more knowledgeable about stuff now compared to nine years ago, at the very least, but I still see my dad as some kind of Knowledgeable Star Wars Authority™. Though at this point, stuff centered around the Clone Wars has become my wheelhouse.
And then there's my mom who has two nerds at her disposal for her SW questions lmao.
So when she asked us "Who's Thrawn?" and my dad started to answer with what he knows, he then looked at ME for more information.
I should have realized much sooner that I needed to do the Rebels series homework not just for answering my mom's questions, but apparently both my parents for once.

Here there be Heavy Dogma Angst 🥲
two of my shortest stories, real tear-jerkers.
How Painful The Dream I Do Not Wake From
(this one has the decommissioning)
Tup. Dogma’s not a good soldier, not after today, but Tup and Rex still are, and that’s what matters. Neither of them should have to shoulder the burden of having killed General Krell. They’re free and alive as far as he knows. It makes him glad, that better men than him will continue to fight on past the end of the clone known as Dogma.
Without thought, without his permission, Tup’s mouth had said, “Good soldiers follow orders.”
That’s not what makes a good soldier.
Good soldiers know what needs to be done, and they do it. They strive for victory, for survival, for the men next to them, and they give their whole heart and soul to it.
Dogma had been a good soldier. He saw what needed to be done, and he did it. Krell had been a true traitor, the evidence clear to them. No one had to order or coerce Dogma into doing the right thing, there at the end. Tup has tried not to think of his lost brother too often, because it still hurts, but now he can contemplate it without feeling gut-shot.

Modern AU kid Domino Squad! Cutup (back left), Hevy (back right), Fives (front left), Droidbait (front middle), Echo (front right). I felt the need to make them all look different since quintuplets would be a bit out of place in a modern AU, so Cutup, Hevy, and Droidbait are adopted.
Okay, I know it's been a few weeks, but I promise I'm still here and still working on Raising Dominoes. Life's just been super busy and I had to put in extra hours at the lab these past few weekends.
Anyways, here is Chapter 11 - Memories. And on a Saturday, not a Sunday! :)
Prologue: 00 Previous chapter: 10
Summary: Rex battles guilt and Echo recalls the events leading up to his hospitalization.
CW: Child abuse, death, death of children, guilt, missing limbs, hospitals, explosions. Heed the warnings on this one, friends. It's not a fun time for the boys.
Chapter 11 - Memories
Rex woke from an uncomfortable sleep as the first rays of sunlight began to illuminate the hospital room. He had not had the heart to separate the twins while they were sleeping, so he had hunkered down in the chair by the boy’s bedside for the night. Now his neck and back ached and he had pins and needles in his legs.
A quick look at the boys and he could see they were still sleeping. In the night they had drifted away from each other. Fives was now sprawled out on the bed, lying on his stomach like a starfish, leaving Echo a tiny sliver of space, and even that was invaded by Fives’s elbow.
Rex smiled to himself and gently moved Fives’s arm to his side so the boy would not accidentally take out one of his brother’s eyes. Luckily the kid was out cold and did not stir at his touch.
Now that he was up, Rex stretched and lazily strolled across the room to the window. Cody would have loved the view. The sun peaked between skyscrapers, casting the streets below in harsh shadows and warm light. From the way the whole city was bathed in orange it looked like a mild autumn morning despite the frigid temperatures Rex knew were on the other side of the glass.
He did not know how long he stood there, staring out the window and watching the cars march by in the lines of morning traffic like ants. He let his mind wander freely, enjoying the peaceful quiet of dawn. His brain had been working in overdrive constantly the past four days, always worried or planning. It felt nice to turn it off for a few seconds, doing a hard reboot and getting himself back on track.
Eventually the sound of the door opening caught Rex’s attention. Kix nodded to him from the doorway and strode over to the bed to change out Echo’s med bag.
“Hey,” Rex called softly, abandoning his post by the window and moving to stand beside the doctor. “Shouldn’t you be at home? It’s Saturday.”
Kix shrugged, focused on checking up on Echo, “I guess I picked up an extra shift.”
“What about Dogma and Tup?”
“Jesse’s got them,” Kix shrugged again, his tone nonchalant. He scrawled something quickly on his clipboard and then turned to Rex and nodded to the door, “Let’s talk outside.”
Rex followed Kix outside Echo’s room without complaint, and sat when Kix motioned to a bench in the hallway.
Kix sat next to him, sighing heavily, and running a hand through his intricate buzzcut, “Echo’s doing really well. Even better since you and Fives arrived.”
Rex nodded.
“If everything continues to go well, we should be able to discharge him this Wednesday. We have to ween him off the meds and make sure he won’t be in too much pain when you take him home. At this point, that’s really all he’s here for. The medication, sterile environment, and so that we can monitor the healing process.”
“So, he’s going to be okay?”
Kix smiled, leaning back, and resting his head against the wall, “That’s one resilient kid you got, Rex. It’ll take time, but he’ll be alright.”
“Good…” Rex trailed off his mind already whizzing over a million different questions. What if he was not? What if he healed physically, but could not mentally or emotionally? What if he hated him? What if he’d never be able to gain the kid’s trust? What if-
“Rex,” Kix laid a hand on Rex’s violently bouncing knee, and Rex instinctively jerked away from the touch. Kix frowned, retracting his arm, “More importantly, are you going to be alright?”
“‘More importantly?’” Rex scoffed. He turned his head away from Kix, choosing to focus on the checkered floor pattern instead. Echo was the one in the hospital, not him.
“Yeah, ‘more importantly,’” Kix hunched over, bracing his elbows on his knees before lowering his voice and continuing, “Listen to me, Rex. I don’t know a lot about what those boys have gone through, but if it’s anything half as bad as my boys—and I’m confident it’s worse—you’re going to need to be strong for them.”
Kix’s eyes flicked over to Rex to ensure his friend was still paying attention, “You’re going to have to show them they can trust you over and over and over again. And once you think they finally do, you’re going to do something that’s going to mess it all up. You’re going to have to start from square one.”
Rex was about to interject, but Kix held up a hand, “Listen, I’m telling you this because I want you to be prepared. I want this to end well. For that to happen, you need to show them how to be strong and learn to trust again. You won’t be able to do that if you let yourself get overwhelmed.”
“I-” Rex stuttered, voice caught in his throat, leg bouncing erratically again. He shook his head as if to shake unpleasant thoughts from his mind.
“Please don’t live in the past, Rex. Please. I don’t want that for you, and I don’t want that for your boys.”
Rex turned to Kix, eyes full of desperation, “How? How can I not live in the past? Look at what she did to them! Look at what I did to them! I should have been there. If I had been there-”
Rex broke off, hands trembling in his lap, a pained smile stretching across his face.
“You have to understand it’s not your fault. I know that’s hard, but what happened to them is not your fault. It’s not.”
Kix paused for a second, letting Rex meet his eyes before continuing, “What will happen to them will be. So, let’s make sure that it’s your fault that they smile. That they laugh and play and miss you when you’re gone. Make sure it’s your fault they’re happy.”
Rex shook his head, “And if I can’t?”
“You can. I know you can. And Cody and I will always be here to help, okay?”
Rex shrugged.
Kix nudged him in the arm, a slight smile spreading up the corners of his mouth, “Heck, even Jesse wants to help out. He’s been complaining that he’s the only one that hasn’t met them yet.”
Rex let out a clipped chuckle at the idea of his twins meeting Kix’s younger brother, “Yeah, okay.”
Echo woke to an aching pain coursing through his body and a familiar white light as he blinked himself awake. He must have overdone it during training yesterday. Must have hit his head too with the way it pounded.
He could feel the warmth of Fives’s body next to his left side just like every morning, but the space on the cot to his right was cold and empty. Where was Droidbait?
Echo reached out to feel for his younger brother but retracted his arm when all he found was a fistful of air.
Gone.
The world pitched around Echo. He blinked trying to block out the blinding light and sinking feeling in his gut and focus. He felt sluggish and fuzzy like he had been sedated, but he could not remember doing anything wrong. No, if he had done something bad, he would be in isolation. It would be cold and dark, and Fives would not be beside him.
Then Droidbait must have been in isolation. What could his youngest brother have done? Why could he not remember?
His head, right. His head. He must have hit his head.
Echo reached over to Fives, about to shake his twin awake when he stopped, pulling back his arm as if it had been burned.
Something was not right.
The light was slowly turning from the intense white to a warm orange as his eyes adjusted. It looked like sunlight. But that could not be right. There were no windows in their room, just a single exposed bulb that’s harsh light reflected on the white floors and walls.
No. This was wrong.
Echo tried to sit up, tried to look for Droidbait, Hevy and Cutup as his eyes gradually focused on the room around him. Tried to make sense of the bed he was on and the machines surrounding him.
He could not. Could not sit up. Could not see his brothers.
Then he could not stop himself from remembering.
Remembering Hevy’s plan.
They were going to escape. Going to climb over the wall during their morning drills. He had thought it was a bad idea. Mom told them not to go near the citadel walls. She had warned them bad things would happen. Cutup said she was probably lying. He had said she would not be watching. Echo did not agree.
She was always watching.
Droidbait was scared. He had said over and over that he did not want to go. That he was afraid. That they would not make it over the wall. That she would find them even if they did.
As soon as the drill started Hevy had grabbed him. Dragged their youngest brother after him. Cutup had followed just behind, leaving Echo to wake up Fives.
Fives never woke to the alarm. Echo thought the flashing red lights and the incessant ringing would have been enough to wake a dead man, but Fives never so much as stirred. Echo had to shake him.
Fives had not been sure about Hevy’s plan either. He had said that even if they cleared the wall and made it down to the other side, what would they do next? Where would they go? But when the time came, he was on board. If Hevy and Cutup and Droidbait were doing it, so was he.
If Fives was doing it, so was Echo.
They had run down the hall and out through the normally bolted shut doors. The doors outside only opened during morning drill. Echo knew. This had not been the first time they had tried to escape.
By the time he and Fives had made it out into the yard, his adopted brothers were already scaling the wall. Cutup was nearly at the top and Hevy was helping Droidbait a few feet below.
No one had stopped them.
Fives ran to the wall. Echo followed.
They were doing this now.
No turning back.
About halfway up Echo heard the first explosion. He heard Droidbait screaming Cutup’s name. His voice had been laden with fear and grief. He heard Hevy yelling at Droidbait, begging him not to move. He heard Fives whimper quietly next to him.
When Echo pulled himself up onto the top of the wall he saw Hevy crouched next to Droidbait’s foot. He saw his youngest brother’s eyes wide with terror, staring at the place where the explosion had been. He saw the pile of rubble. He saw Cutup’s eyes staring blankly up at the sky from under the settling dust.
Hevy had turned to him and Fives and moved aside so they could see the dark olive cylinder resting under Droidbait’s foot. Droidbait stared at the rubble, repeating Cutup’s name over and over, his voice hollow and quiet.
Hevy had hesitated looking from their baby brother’s foot to his lost expression before turning back to the twins.
“You take him and you go,” Hevy had ordered.
Echo watched as he yanked the mine out from under Droidbait’s foot and curled his body over it in one fluid motion. He had been trying to stop the explosion from harming anyone but himself.
It had not worked.
Hevy was blown back towards the twins, a mess of blood and flesh. Droidbait was pushed backwards from the force and teetered on the edge of the wall.
Fives screamed and rushed forwards, reaching out a hand.
He had not been fast enough.
Droidbait fell.
Echo remembered the sound it made when his little brother hit the ground.
He doubted he would ever forget.
Echo did not remember much after that. He must have stepped on one of the mines as well, considering the state of his body. He looked over at his brother, making sure his brother really was as unharmed as he had seemed the day before.
Fives seemed fine, and Echo closed his eyes again to block out the too bright light before they flew open in surprise as the door to his room creaked open.
That man was standing there, the one who had brought Fives. The one named Rex. He looked like the other one—Cody—but with shorter blond hair instead of the longer dark curls that matched him and his brother.
Cody had come a lot to visit. Echo barely remembered much from the past few days, but it seemed every time he woke, he had been there, sitting at his bedside, quietly reading a book of some sort. He had thought Cody was his dad at first. It made sense, they looked just like each other, and why else would anyone take an interest in him.
When Echo had asked, Cody had smiled and said that his dad was taking care of Fives, that he was his uncle, that his dad’s name was Rex.
Rex.
His dad.
The guy had seemed nice enough yesterday, but Echo knew better than to believe his charade. Besides, Echo did not want a dad. He wanted his brothers back.
Echo must have let his face show too much disgust when Rex came into his view, as the man quickly rushed to his side, “Are you okay?”
Echo narrowed his eyes. Rex sounded like Fives any time Echo or one of their other brothers got hurt during drills. His voice was soft and gentle, even caring, and Echo was taken aback. It sounded genuine.
“Fine,” Echo mumbled, voice scratchy.
The man hovered awkwardly by the side of the bed for another moment before nodding and sitting slowly in the chair, “Your brother’s still sleeping, huh?”
Echo nodded, waiting for the command to wake his twin and rob him of a few more precious minutes of sleep.
It did not come.
Instead, Rex passed a small book to Echo, and pressed a finger to his lips, “We’ll have to be quiet, then.”
Echo watched as Rex took out a book of his own and flipped to a page in the middle, his head bowed as he read silently. The boy looked down at the book clutched in his hand. It appeared to be some sort of fiction book based on the colorful cover.
Echo snuck a glance at the blond man. He was still engrossed in his novel. The boy cautiously opened to the first page, chancing another look at Rex. Just because he was handed the book did not mean he was allowed to read it. The blond man looked up at the sound of the page crinkling, met his gaze for half a second, flashed a quick smile, and then went back to reading.
Echo followed suit.
Maybe his dad was not so bad.
Just maybe.

ooooo so "you're still here" with faielan OR like we were talking about in dms. "you should be lying down" with thire
YES THANK YOU MIKEY YES!!!
CW: description of blood/injury; discussion of decommissioning
"Stop resisting!" the 501st trooper snaps, and tugs hard on Thire's bound arms for good measure.
He's being marched down the hallways of his own prison. The building is swarming with Jedi and GAR troopers. It's a weird reversal; the Coruscant Guard are the military police, and now they're the ones being arrested. Dotted in the rainbow of armor colors are flashes of Corrie red, red like blood.
There's blood on the floor, too, Thire notices distantly as he's hauled through the chaos. It tracks straight to an armored figure in red, on his knees with his hands bound like Thire's. More red paint than any of the other Corries, to make him the biggest target.
Fox.
Captain Rex stands tall above Fox's hunched form with a tight grip on Fox's ruined shoulder bell. He's talking with Skywalker and a Coruscant Security Force captain, blithely ignoring the red seeping through the plates of Fox's armor.
Thire doesn't know how Fox is still conscious. During the attempted arrest of ARC trooper Fives, Skywalker had ripped at the shield generator he and Rex had been trapped under with the Force, severing it completely from the ceiling.
And then he'd thrown it right at Fox.
It's shit. It's all shit, this whole situation, and it's only going to get worse. Thire doesn't even know how they're going to explain why the Corries had followed Palpatine's orders so closely - not to Skywalker.
Skywalker was in his confidence. The Chancellor's special favorite would never believe the Corries if they spilled about the threats, the decommissionings, the abuse. The Chancellor had always said so, and unfortunately, the Chancellor was almost always right.
Besides. It's not like Fox and Thorn and Thire hadn't tried, but any messages to their batches or the Jedi had gone unanswered. The Corries were left with no choice but to obey.
Even orders to kill a brother. Fox's shot had gone wide when the generator came down, scoring Fives on the shoulder instead of the heart, but that didn't seem to matter to Rex or his General.
"Fox!" Thire calls, and struggles towards his commander.
His brother twitches and turns his head, revealing two black eyes and a gaping laceration across his nose, where his helmet had buckled inwards. "Thire," he says, through bloody teeth.
What is there to say? "We're fucked, hope your decommissioning is quick and painless?" No. Thire falls back on the black humor the Guard has developed. "You should be lying down, Fox," he teases. "Get some beauty sleep, you need it."
It gets a smile out of Fox, a brief flash of affection, before Captain Rex turns too. He signals at the trooper holding Thire, and snaps orders.
"Get him out of here, Tup."
There's no use resisting the implacable hands of the brother pulling him away, but Thire tries anyway. "Fox!" he yells, twisting against the binders. "Fox!"
"It's okay, Thire," Fox reassures, as Thire is dragged away. Fox pulls a little at Rex's hand to keep Thire in view; Rex yanks him back down to his knees. "It's gonna be okay."
They both know he's lying.

Shore leave (Tup x OC)
Warning(s): alcohol, talking about sex, mention(s) of sex aaaaaand I guess that's it, no Devil's tango in this one
Word count: 3407
Summary: A night in the 79s, our sweet boy Tup and Fives, who is more than happy to help out his Vod'ika with matters of the heart.
Tumblr media
They only had a couple of days to rest from the exhaustion of their previous mission and no doubt the boys of the 501st tried to make the most of it. Most of them – Fives, most of them is Fives - were eager for Rex to say the magic words and were more than ready to jump into the Coruscant night. When they finally got permission, they all headed in the familiar direction of 79s. All except one. Tup stood there looking at his leaving brothers, listening to there laughter as they walked away. He did not feel like going, the last mission was not a success in his eyes. Of course, it had been carried out and the report said it was successful, but he didn't feel that way. He felt he had not done enough and what he had done was not enough. Even after what happened at Umbara, sometimes he still felt like a shiney.
He was so lost in his thoughts that he didn't even notice that someone was sneaking up on him.
“And why aren’t you on your way to 79s?” asked Fives throwing his arm over his shoulder.
“I don’t really feel like going…”
“Come on Tup! This is our first shore leave in forever!” he protested pulling Tup closer to him. “Don’t be a kill joy.”
“I…” the younger man started but all in vain.
“Nope! Not hearing it! I’m deaf to anything that doesn’t sound like; Let’s go Fives, it’ll be fun!”
Tup knew there was no point in arguing with Fives. He just hoped that the ARC Trooper would quickly look at the bottom of his glass or disappear with a pretty woman and he could come back and sleep in his bed before the others stumbled home drunk.
They'd been in the bar for two hours, but Fives did not leave his side. He really did get it into his head that come hell or high-water Tup would have a good time, even if he didn't know it yet. Or wanted to. It was his turn to get drinks for the group – even though he thought Jesse didn’t need more, nor did Kix – so he walked towards the bar with a sigh.
“What am I even doing here?” he asked himself as he waited for the drinks. It was a busy night; he was sure he would be standing there for more than a few minutes.
“Well, you're certainly not having fun.” he heard a cheerful voice.
He turned his head in the direction of the voice and when he came face to face with its owner, he could only blink rapidly. A togruta woman was standing next to him, if he drank more, say as much as Jesse, he would have mistaken her for Commander Tano. The woman had a skin tone maybe a couple of shades darker than Ahsoka, her face was decorated with white marks, the stripes on her lekku were dark purple and her dark forest green eyes that seem to have seen into his soul. She was wearing a green top almost the same shade as her eyes, leather pants, and boots with heels Tup couldn't imagine anyone could walk on.
He stared at her for a moment before he remembered that he should reply.
“Why do you think I'm not having fun?” he cleared his throat.
“Well, you see” she leaned on the counter. Tup, the Maker sees his soul, tried not to stare at her chest, but a moment of weakness took over him. He felt his face heat up and looked back at the woman’s face embarrassed waiting for a slap in the face, but she either didn’t notice him gawking at her breasts or didn’t care. “they are having fun” she pointed towards the table where is brothers sat shouting and laughing. “you on the other hand” she looked back at him with those mesmerising green eyes. “not so much. You look like someone who doesn’t even want to be here.”
“Is it that obvious?” he asked, rubbing the back of his neck. She only shrugged her shoulder with a small smile. “I’m Tup." he held out his hand to her.
“Zani.”
“We are dying of thirst vod’ika.” he felt Fives’ arm wrap around his shoulder and he couldn’t have sounded more dramatic even if he wanted to. “What takes you so…” then his eyes settled on the woman standing next to his brother. “long. Oh.” he looked at Tup who felt like his face was on fire. “Oh!” he repeated more excited, and Tup wanted to sink into the floor. “I see.” he said with a smirk pulling his little brother closer. “Won’t you introduce your lovely friend?”
“Fives, she is Zani, Zani, my brother Fives.” he muttered not looking at either of them.
“Pleasure” Fives said with a little nod still with his arm still around Tup. “Leave the drinks to me, I see you have more important things to do.” he said with a shit-eating grin which made Tup wanting to punch him in the face. Zani just stood there looking at the two men with an amused smile sipping her drink. They were identical, like all clones – except for a couple, she was lucky enough to meet clone force 99, they were a fun lot to be around – but they couldn’t be more different personality wise. Fives was cocky and confident, Tup on the other hand was cautious, a bit shy and she found it adorable.
“I” Tup started to protest but Fives didn’t let him.
“Would you mind if I stole my little brother for a moment?” he looked at Zani who could hardly hold back a little chuckle.
“But not for too long.” she replied and if she thought Tup’s face couldn’t get any redder, Maker she was wrong. Fives just gave her his signature smile and pulled Tup a couple of steps away.
“What now?” asked Tup while looking at his brother.
“I must ask you because you are my vod; what do you want to do? Because it’s clear as day what she wants.”
“Is it?”
“Yes, it is! She came to you, right? Started the small talk, all that.”
“Yeah, yes, she did.”
“She likes you.” said Fives with a wide grin. “So, all you need to do is…”
“Nothing.” he sighed, and Fives gave him a puzzled look.
“What? Why?” Tup didn’t answer and really started to wish that he didn’t listen to Fives and stayed back in the barracks. “Tup?”
“I… She would lose interest soon. I’m not… Kriff I don’t know what to do in situations like that.” he blurted out.
“You want to say that…”
“Yes, Fives!” he interrupted before his brother could finish.
“But that’s not your first shore leave.” the ARC trooper pressed.
“Yeah, but I’m not you.” Tup whispered so quietly Fives could barely here.
“What is that supposed to mean?” he looked at the younger clone with raised eyebrows.
“You are confident, you go and flirt with women, almost talking them out of their panties, I can’t do that. I tried, but I am not like that, I start rambling and babbling and say some bantha shit and… I can’t.” he ranted louder and louder, than took a deep breath. “So, after a while, I stopped trying… So I’ve never… And I don’t want to…” he bit his lover lip.
“Disappoint her.” Fives finished and Tup just nodded. Fives looked at his brother with sympathy. He remembered what it was like to be out here for a first couple of times. If there wasn’t for that very… confident twi’lek woman, Vetra, who introduced both him and Echo separately, they were brothers after all – to the world of “bedroom rodeo”, he doesn’t think he would have had enough courage to initiate anything for a good while. “You trust me?” he didn’t even wait for Tup to answer and started to walk towards Zani.
“What? Fives what are you…? Wait! Don’t! Fives!” but it was late, Fives was already at the woman’s side who looked at him with a questioning look.
“Now I want to steal you for a moment if you’d let me.” he thrown his arm around Zani’s shoulder but when the woman gave him a death stare, he let her go. No touching, he didn't need to be told twice, or in that case looked at that way twice.
“Everything’s alright?” she asked looking back at Tup who looked like he wanted to murder his brother. In a very slow and painful way.
“Yeah, aaammm. I need to talk to you about my dear vod’ika over there. You see…”
“Little brother?” she looked at him with a small smile.
“You speak mando’a?” his eyes were comically wide as he looked at her.
“If you spend enough time in 79s you pick up a thing or two.” she shrugged and drank from her glass. “So, what’s wrong with your vod’ika?”
“He is scared of disappointing you.” Fives answered, he didn’t see any point of dancing around it.
“I beg your pardon?”
“He thinks that because he is inexperienced in, well this, the whole ordeal, he will disappoint you.”
“I see. And you” she tilted her head running her fingers down on one of her lekku. “, his ori’vod came to the rescue.”
“I just want him to have a good time, to be happy. So just…”
“Fives, I’m not like the other women he tried to charm so far.” she said a small smile still playing on her lips and it just got bigger when the clone looked at him with wide eyes. “As I said, I’ve been around. I really want to know Tup better not just jump on his bones.”
“Great! Good! I mean, yeah sure! Even better!” Fives didn’t remember the last time he was rambling like a cadet like that.
“So, if you don’t mind…”
“Tup, get your shebs here!” he shouted for the younger trooper. “Just be yourself.” Fives whispered into his brother’s ear as he walked away.
Tup looked at Zani who smiled at him than put up two fingers showing the droid behind the counter that they needed more drinks. She was beautiful, no one could deny it. Everything about her attracted Tup, especially her eyes.
“What did Fives say?” he asked after they got their drinks.
“Nothing that I didn’t know before.” she answered clicking their glasses together.
“Really?” Tup looked at him with wide eyes which made Zani smile.
She thought he was adorable in many ways. She saw him many times here and always wanted to come to him and talk but at the end by the time she mustered up some courage he either went up to another woman or has already left. She saw him get rejected time after time and she always wanted to shout at those women for turning away such a sweet man. She liked that he wasn’t as loud as his brothers, she loved that little bun on top of his head, and she wanted to know the story behind the tear drop tattoo under his right eye. She wanted to know everything about him.
“Really.” she smiled at him which he returned and felt much calmer than before.
They talked about everything and anything, the war, Tup growing up on Kamino, why she preferred 79s over every single bar on Coruscant. They drank, talked, laughed and Tup has never felt more liberated before.
“Don’t look at them but your brothers are staring.” Zani said with an amused smile.
“I would say I am surprised but I’m not. Probably waiting for me to do something.” he sighed and shook his head. Zani reached for his hand on the counter and stroked the back of his gloved hand with her thumb.
“You want to do something?”
“Like… Like what?” he asked looking at his hand which she was holding.
“Do you want to kiss me?” Tup's breath caught in his chest and felt blush creeping up on his neck, but he answered without hesitation.
“Yes.” he breathed out. That was all that Zani needed she moved her left hand to Tup's cheek and pressed her lips to his. Tup closed his eyes and was almost too lost in the feeling to hear his brothers cheering for him from the back. But he didn’t care, he didn’t feel embarrassed, he only cared about Zani, her lips on his, her smooth palm on his face. But Zani heard them, and she got an idea. She pulled away a little from Tup, who tried to lean in so that their lips could touch again.
“Hands on my hips pretty boy.” she whispered onto his lips and kissed him again now a bit more feverishly than before. Tup, who blushed even more because of the nickname did as he was told, putting his hands on her hips and then pulled her to him. A surprised noise left Zani’s lips but when the shock wore off, she wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him even closer.
The cheering behind them got louder which made the woman smile into the kiss, then she licked Tup’s lower lip asking for entrance which he gave her without a second thought. As she deepened the kiss Tup felt like his heart would jump out of his chest his pulse was quick like when he was on the battlefield, but it was different, it felt nice, the feeling that embraced him just like Zani’s arms was nothing like anything he had felt before. He never wanted it to be over, never wanted to let her go even though he knew it wasn’t possible. She pulled away again, but just barely, resting her forehead against his as they both panted a little.
“Will you walk me home?” she asked caressing the back of his neck.
“I’d walk with you to the edge of the Galaxy if you’d want me to.” he replied and looked at her like she was the most beautiful thing he saw in his life.
“Home will be enough for now.” she smiled at him, then gave him a quick peck on his lips and started leading him by the hand towards the exit. Tup heard a really faint Come on, Tup! Get some! from a very very very drunk Jesse and cheers from the others. He knew he wouldn’t hear the end of it the next day, but he couldn’t care less about it.
After Tup convinced Zani that he had received speeder training and could drive the machine for long periods of time without crashing into anything, even after a few drinks, she allowed him to drive the vehicle. She sat behind him as he drove, wrapping her arms around his waist, resting her chin on his shoulder, and telling him where to go. She didn't live far away, but as he'd told her in the bar, it felt much safer than walking alone at night and he couldn’t agree more.
“Zani darling!” an old halaisi woman walked up to them as they got of the speeder.
“Maree.” she hugged the old lady tight.
“Oh, sweet girl, you were away for a long time from Coruscant, I was worried you’d never come back.” said Maree with sad eyes, still holding Zani’s hands.
“But Maree you know I was away for my training, I told you I would come back.” she said with a small chuckle. “I won’t gone anywhere for a while.”
“I’m happy to hear that, and look!” she looked at Tup. “What a handsome young man you've got for yourself.”
“I did, didn’t I?” she looked at Tup with a fond smile. “Maree, he is Tup.”
“Pleased to meet you ma’am.” he said with a nod and a small, shy smile.
“Respectful, I like that.” the old woman looked at Tup with approval.
“Maree is like a mother to me.” Zina explained to Tup.
“Mother? Grandmother, maybe, an old woman like me.” she said rolling her golden eyes. “Now, I won’t keep you up children. Have fun! Maker knows you need it.” she looked up at Zani with a suggestive look.
“Maree!” she scolded the old woman while her face stared to get redder, but the old lady, as if she had not heard it, said good night, and walked away.
“What training?” Tup asked as they walked towards her apartment.
“Medical.” she answered looking for her key card. “I wanted to help and in a war like this, you, your brothers, the jedi and the civilians need it.” Tup admired her for wanting to help, but the thought of her being anywwhere near the battlefield made his throat tighten. “That’s me.” she stopped next to one of the doors.
“I…”
“Tup.” she stopped him before the trooper could say anything. “I want you to stay with me tonight. We don’t have to do anything, I just… I want you to stay with me.”
“I will” he nodded, and she kissed him. When they got in, she put down her handbag on the small table next to the door and took of her boots. Without the heels she was almost a head smaller than him, and it made him smile.
“If you make fun of my height…” she said with a stern expression on her face.
“I had not dared to think of such a thing.” Tup said with a small smile, wrapping her arms around her hips and kissing her on her forehead.
“Good.” she kissed him on his cheek and stepped away. “Get of your boots and armour, I’ll get you something you can sleep in.” While Tup was getting rid of his armour, Zani looked for a bigger shirt and a pair of pants and pulled out a nightgown for herself. “These should be good.” she gave him the clothes after they walked into the bedroom. He was only wearing his blacks and she was still wearing all her clothes.
“Why do you have these?” he looked at the shirt that for the first look was even big for him and the pants that for sure weren’t for women. They looked a bit like the pants they wore on Kamino when they were cadets.
“They are comfortable, I like wearing them around the house.” she said with a shrug and started to get rid of her top than freeze in the middle of her movement. “Sorry, I…”
“It’s okay.” he whispered and started to get of the top of his blacks. They started to undress in front of each other, but when Zani stood completely naked before Tup, the man couldn’t move. “Mesh’la” he breathed out and Zani bit her lover lip. She heard other clones say it to women in the 79s and she knew what it meant.
“Wanted to say the same thing.” looking Tup up and down. She wanted him and she knew for sure from the outline of his half-hardened cock in his blacks that he wanted her too, but not tonight. She promised that she wouldn’t do anything he wasn’t ready for, and she’d keep this promise no matter how bad that throbbing between her legs got. When they finally got dressed, she walked up to him and with her slender fingers, she found the bun on the top of the man's head. “Can I?” Tup just nodded, but she didn't need more than that, she pulled the band out of his hair. His thick brown hair reached down to his chin, framing his perfect face. “You are beautiful.” she said brushing his lower lip with her thumb that the man kissed. “Let’s get you to bed trooper.” she said with a smile pulling him towards her bed.
They were talking for hours. Tup was laying on his back, his fingers caressing her lekku as she laid her head on his chest, hugging him. He told her how scared he was on Umbara, about the missions since, how he wanted to see Dogma again, how much Fives pissed him of sometimes. Everything. He felt safe, felt like he could share his deepest secrets with her and she wouldn’t judge her, for being scared and feeling weak. After a while they both slowly fell asleep in each other’s arms.
And in the 79s a very satisfied Fives smirked under his nose, downing his last drink. Have a good night vod’ika.

Let’s get some fun recommendations goin around here! What’s a piece of clone content (art, fic, etc) that has stuck with you as being notably excellent? Tag it in your answer so we can all find some new fun to read! If you want, of course; feel free to ignore! 💕
Okay a couple recs
This wonderful modern au by @techslander with cover art by @wrenkenstein featuring Tech and Juno.
This fic by @eclec-tech with Crosshair and Phee
A lot of people probably know of Doc's Misadventures by @staycalmandhugaclone, but I would be remiss if I didn't add this fic where Crosshair notices something about their new squad member. (CW for past abuse)
If you like spicy Crosshair then this exists by @lightwise and @freesia-writes.
I also cannot forget my sister's art. She did Crosshair, Tech, Tup, and two versions of Gregor. This haunting piece of a clone trooper always gets me. On a personal note, she also made art of my fic with Crosshair and Omega.
For some education, there's this post by @fox-trot about Gregor, PBA, and TBI. I refer to it any time I think about writing Gregor just because I want to get it right.
Finally, anyone who hasn't done so needs to check out @cobaltbeam
Okay that's more than a couple, but deal.

Dogma being a part of the Coruscant guard has had a chokehold on me for months now so I’m writing this… drabble? Hc? Idk, anyways spoilers for cw season 4,5,6 up ahead you’ve been warned.
After killing Krell on Umbara, Dogma’s taken to Coruscant were he’s supposed to be transferred to Kamino and decommissioned. Fortunately, Fox finds out about him and silently folds him into the Guard instead, sending out a false transfer confirmation. Dogma gets a new CT number of a dead guard trooper and so begins his life at triple O.
Fox is kind to his men, something that comes as a surprise seeing as everyone always says that the commander is cold and cruel, following orders without question, but during his time with the Guard Dogma learns that there’s a lot of things said about the Corries that isn’t true.
‘It’s safe on Coruscant’ they said, scoffing at their brothers in red. ‘It’s just a prissy office job’ they spat in bars. Oh how wrong they were. Tipple O was just as much of a battlefield as the front lines.
Another thing Dogma learns is that transmission from the Guard to the rest of the GAR are extremely difficult to make. The realization comes with a sinking feeling to Dogma, as the rest of the GAR simply thinks that the Corries never comm because they act superior.
Despite the difficulties, Dogma tries to contact the 501, anyone that could get him in touch with Tup. The two of them were batchmates, the last of their batch, and despite Dogma’s attitude and behavior pre Umbara, Tup still stood by him. He cares for his vod’ika dearly, so he tries to comm the 501. He stops a month later when a beaten body of a trooper is brought to the morgue, apparently find outside an illegal comm station.
Dogma settles in as much as he can, deciding (yes deciding, Fox gave him a choice) to work with animal handling under Hound. Fox keeps him away from figures in authority such as the senators and makes sure he’s safe inside the guard. It’s the most he ever had.

Prepping for Bad Batch season 3 by watching the clone-centric episodes of Clone Wars and of course seasons 1 and 2 of Bad Batch.
I just got through the inhibitor chip episodes in CW season 6 and I’m legit about to sob. Tup! Fives! My boys!!! They deserved so much better.
Tumblr media
And Fives is so fucking smart! He’s played as the hot dumb one a lot, but he is so fucking smart to have figured it all out by himself and realize how high it went. I am 1000% convinced that if Nala Se (boooo!!!) hadn’t drugged him, he would have changed the course of the war.
So I’m just going to be here rocking in the fetal position.
