actually there's a huge difference between queerbaiting/"Hey guys look how gay these two are haha they're definitely gonna end up together, give us views uwu oh- never mind oops they're going to superhell" and "Hey it's 2004-2012 and there's no way we can get away with having our protags/main couple be two gay men but we really want to show these two are soulmates so we'll do it through subtext and underlying messages and by literally telling you over and over again their relationship is the most stable and important in the entire show, and the ending will imply they lived and died together", and it's insane that some of yall don't see how these two are not the same fucking thing.

MENA people can say the US is bad and both political parties are bad and a white liberal will hop on and say how actually one genocide is better than the other because then if the "lesser of two evils" is in power, it happens in a mythical faraway land of Agrabah but if it's the "worser of two evils" it happens in their own backyard and they can't have that *gasp of horror*
Y'all don't give a fuck about genocide being bad, y'all care when it affects you. Leave MENA folks alone when we say fuck the US and US imperialism in our homes!!!

white american liberals love seeing poc as victims who constantly have to beg for a shred of white liberals' attention so they may throw some solidarity our way. the moment we refuse to audition for their sympathy and instead empower ourselves to fight back directly against our oppressors, these same liberals are not so comfortable with the idea of us as victims or innocents - how dare we resist or have our own agency? if a poc takes up a rifle after seeing their entire family be killed, and then is bombed by the killers for fighting back against the killers, then is that poc a victim? oh but how could they be? - they had a gun. the gun becomes our symbol of liberation and hope, not mindless vengeance, but as a means for the destruction of the power structures that our oppressor rests on. stop prefacing your support of poc with condemnations of our resistance. negotiations will never free oppressed people because our oppressors do not have a conscience. you cannot reason with somebody who thinks you are inherently worth less. resistance is the only way forward.
remember that the violence of the oppressed is in no way morally equivalent to the violence of the oppressor. and the oppressed do not have to justify the means of our resistance to the oppressors / the sympathizers of the oppressors.

I'll be honest, when I first began reading PJO I thought Camp Half-Blood was going to be absolutely destroyed.
In a way that it would be impossible to fix everything: the strawberry fields, cabins, the forest and etc. The campers are no longer campers since there's no camp. They will either have to return to their homes or back on the streets.
So they will be kinda vigilante-like. They meet up or bump into each other, or have to be completely on their own, at the mercy of monsters.
The Camp Half-Blood is gone, and the greek demigods need a new plan to win against the Kronos' army.

horseshoe political theory in 2023 is the fact that both antisemitic rightoids and 'progressive' lefties can apparently be memed into going 'you gotta hand it to him!' when reading bin laden's letter to america

The ICJ ordered Israel to take measures to prevent acts of genocide in Gaza in an initial ruling in a case South Africa brought against Israel over its military offensive in the Palestinian territory, a landmark ruling closely watched in the Middle East and around the world.
The director of the CIA will meet in Europe with his Israeli and Egyptian counterparts plus the Qatari prime minister, aiming to negotiate a truce and hostage release in the Israeli-Hamas war, US media reported Thursday.
The health ministry in Gaza said at least 20 people were killed and some 150 others were wounded after Israeli fire hit a crowd of people waiting for humanitarian aid in Gaza City.
A senior UN official said two of Khan Younis's main hospitals, Nasser and Al-Amal, have been isolated by the fighting, stranding hundreds of patients and thousands of displaced people inside. He also said a third hospital has been evacuated.
The health ministry in Hamas-run Gaza says at least 26,083 people have been killed, mostly women and children, and 64,487 have been injured in Israeli strikes on the enclave since October 7. Israeli officials say 1,139 people were killed in the Hamas-led October 7 attacks in southern Israel. Militant fighters took some 240 hostages during the attack and 136 are still in Gaza, according to Israeli figures. The Israeli military says 217 soldiers have been killed in the Gaza Strip since the start of its ground operations in the Palestinian territory.
