“When the holy Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara had truly grasped the transcendent wisdom, he realized that visible form is only illusion. The same applies to its perception, to its names and categories, to discriminative intellect and finally even to our consciousness. They are all illusion. With this realizaton he was beyond all sorrow and bitterness.
Disciple Sariputra! The material is not different from the immaterial. The immaterial and the material are in fact one and the same thing. The same applies to perception, concepts, discriminative thinking and consciousness. They are neither existing nor not existing.
Sariputra! All things therefore they are in themselves not good and not bad, they are not increasing and not decreasing.
Therefore one may say there are no such things as form, perception, concepts, thinking process, and consciousness. Our senses such as eye, ear, nose, tongue, body and mind are misleading us to illusion; thus one may also say there is no reality in visible form, sound, smell, taste, touch and mindknowledge. There are also no such things as the realms of sense from sight up to mind, and no such things as the links of existence from ignorance and its end to old age and death and their end. Also the caturāryasatyāni are nonexistent, just as there is no such thing as wisdom and also no gain.
Because the holy Bodhisattva who relies on transcendent wisdom knows that there is no gain, he has no worries and also no fear. Beyond all illusion he has reached the space of highest Nirvana.
All Buddhas of the past, present and future, found highest perfect knowedge because they relied on transcendental wisdom.
Therefore we ought to know that the great verse of the transcendent wisdom is unsurpassed in its splendor, and that it appeases truly all pain. It reads:
GATE, GATE, PARAGATE, PARASAMGATE BODHISVAHA!”
-The Heart Sutra.

I’ve seen a number of posts lately referring to holi as “a south asian holiday” and it is AGGRAVATING because no!! no it’s not!!!
it has its roots in hinduism and yeah, it’s celebrated by other dharmic religions other than hinduism as well, but that does NOT mean it’s south asian!!
and it always stems from a place of ignorance or erasure. always always always. either from people being unaware (which. wikipedia exists fam. they’ve got it right. go look it up. I’m so tired of excusing ignorance too, it’s literally in the first sentence of the article) or from people trying to erase the hindu origins of the festival. hell I’ve seen it happen to diwali too and guess what!! SAME SITUATION!!
you wouldn’t call eid anything other than a muslim holiday, you wouldn’t call easter anything other than a christian holiday, you wouldn’t call yom kippur anything other than a jewish holiday.
treat us the same way. let us have our holidays.

Looking for active people willing to share knowledge and ask questions.
People who take their craft seriously.

• You can work with any deity. I don't judge nor is it my place to judge. No one should tell you who you can and can't worship. If you disagree with someone that's fine. Don't make it a fight. Have a nice conversation and agree to disagree. You shouldn't tell others what they can and can't work with/worship
• your practice is your own and you choose your path. You decide for yourself.Again with point one no one should tell you what to do as it's your own path.
•All practices welcome. All spectrums of magic. Cosmic to anticosmic. Left to Right. Everyone's definition of left hand and right hand path is different.I see it as left is more independent working and self improvement vs right hand is more joining the universe/worship.

Kabir ji has said that you do not consider anyone greater than Shri Ram and Shri Krishna. He used to bow down in front of his Guru ji even after being the owner (rich) of the three worlds. That's why it is mandatory to make every human being a teacher.

DEFINING HINDUISM
Tumblr media
Though I've been an atheist and still am one. Being born into a Hindu family has always made me proud. And the reason for this is that, after decades of research on spiritualism, particularly how it began and evolved from India through the Hindus, I've concluded. Hinduism is more than just a religion. So, if you're interested in understanding more about Hinduism and its nuances, let me tell you about my understanding of Hinduism.
In my view, a Hindu is an atheist, polytheist, monotheist, and henotheist. He is henotheistic because he believes in only one God yet acknowledges the presence of other deities and subsidiary gods. For example, while Shiva is the most superior Hindu god, Hindus also worship many other lesser gods to whom there is no end or limit. This means that a Hindu can pray to anything around - a tree, a cow, a mountain, a stone or a river.
This distinguishes Hinduism from all other religions. It is a philosophy, even though now muddled up with supernatural beliefs and traditions. Hinduism cannot be called a religion. It's a way of life for them. It arose from various interconnected thoughts such as demographics, cultural practices, and ancient philosophical scriptures and teachings.
It evolved over thousands of years and is the oldest known religion globally. All beliefs and myths add up from one generation to another—philosophers, pundits, commentators, interpreters, gurus, etc.
Each of them comes up with their names, concepts, and supernatural beliefs. Many religions, including a subset of religions, have been influenced by Hinduism, including Sikhism, Jainism, Buddhism, etc. I'd go so far as to say it's the mother of all religions.
According to Yajurveda, "All living beings are equally divine." As a result, when all living creatures are equally divine, and the Hindu religion accepts everyone and allows other religions to coexist in its embrace, it must have been the mother of all ideologies.
Add to that the fact that there is no conversion in Hinduism from one religion to another. It also doesn't have a founder or any precepts. It consists solely of Mahavakyas or great sayings.
The Hindus in Hinduism
Let's take a closer look at the term "Hindu." The Persians coined the term "Hindu," which they used to describe the people who lived beyond the Shindus River. They couldn't distinguish between the sounds "SA" and "Ha" when pronouncing the word Sindhu, So Sindhu turned Hindu.
As you must have noticed, there is no -ism in it. The term "Hinduism," which relates to the Hindu people's religion, was coined later. They could not understand its true nature as an outsider looking in and just called it a religion.  Hinduism is a way of life, not a religion, to realise one's full potential.
God in Hinduism is that of pure consciousness. A final destination for Aatma (the soul) to realise absolute awareness. In Hinduism, unlike any other faith, the Creator and creation are the same. There is no distinction. Since you have that divinity within you, you are that potential divine. This means God is the highest state of pure consciousness to liberate the human body and mind we call Moksha.
The above implies that the divine exists because of you, the earth exists because of you, the universe exists because of you, and everything exists because of your aware-conscious energy contained in the soul. You, as the potential divine, came first, and god followed.
The Knowledge of Self
In Hinduism, this is what is divine. So, with this spiritual knowledge, the most crucial thing in life is not to follow traditions but self-knowledge for that self-awakening to realise self-awareness of who we are beyond body and mind. This self-awareness teaches you that God, Guru, and the Self are one. Advaita Vedanta is the name given to that absolute non-dual state of aware energy; the supreme ability of energy - Brahman referred to as Parabrahman or Paramatma; par meaning beyond.
All of this sprang from four Upanishad mahavakyas. When they declared, "Prajnanam Brahma," - Insight is the creator of everything in the cosmos (Brahman). The second, "Ayam Aatman Brahma", is Brahman - the Soul, which contains the spirit. Third, "Tat Tvam Asi" - That art Thou, and the fourth is "Aham Bhramasmi," which means "I am that Brahman, the one in many and the many in One - total energy.
The Vedas are the foundational texts of Hinduism; it concludes with Advaita Vedanta, which is the essence and philosophical knowledge of the Upanishads.
Let us now consider how supreme and sublime the entire concept of Hinduism's scriptures is. Perhaps this is why the Upanishads offered us four life goals to follow.
These four goals in life are Dharma, Artha, Kama, and Moksha.
· One of the numerous meanings of Dharma is righteousness, which means the divine order of the human person.
· The second purpose is Artha, which aims for economic growth.
· The Kama is the third. It is to fulfil your essential desires and, finally, to be satisfied.
· The ultimate objective for Hindus is to achieve Moksha or liberation.
Sanatan Dharma is the actual name of Hinduism. Sanatana is Sanskrit for "eternal law." And Dharma is the order of righteousness, formed by combining two words into one.
As to how?
Dharma refers to how you should live, whereas karma refers to how you are already living, with the Sanatan – eternal laws filling in the gaps.
The universal law of eternity, the universal rule of righteousness, the universal law of non-duality, where there is no duality or relativity; because the truth, God, and everything else is related towards duality in our mind to its opposite?
All you need to do now is awaken that God, the Atma, in the centre. So that the soul can check and guide the mind to make it alert, attentive and aware to progress from lower to higher consciousness towards non-duality in absoluteness for that ultimate fulfilment.
Therefore, Hinduism is different from all other religions. It teaches you that salvation is found more in your religiousness, devoutness in religiosity. To awaken and liberate from the clutches of the material mind experiencing to realise that the God Guru and the actual Self are lying dormant within.
Namaste, and thank you once again for giving me your precious time.

IT LIVES INSIDE - Review
DISTRIBUTOR: NEON
Tumblr media
SYNOPSIS: Sam is desperate to fit in, and not just due to the peer pressure of high school. Turning her back on her Indian culture and estranging herself from her mother and best friend, Tamira . Tamira attracts some negative attention among the students after suddenly becoming withdrawn and unkempt, carrying everywhere a mysterious jar. When Sam confronts her to try and have an overdue heart-to-heart, Tamira reveals that a mythological demonic spirit, the Pishach, has latched onto her and resides in the jar. Before they can finish, Sam accidently breaks the jar and unleashes the spirit. Sam must now come to terms with her heritage in order to defeat it.
REVIEW: Rarely does a genre film come along that draws upon classical mythology, finds a footing for it in a contemporary setting, and weaves it into a generational tale that works on the subconscious and is viscerally haunting. Bishal Dutta Dutta’s IT LIVES INSIDE taps into the lightening of Wes Craven’s original “A Nightmare on Elm Street” while weaving in the literary and cinematic narrative of “the other.”
Bishal Dutta’s screenplay is an outstanding contemporary work of genre fiction. He takes the Hindu and Buddhist myth of the Pishacha, flesh-eating demons often referred to as the very manifestation of evil, and weaves it into a contemporary tale of high school, peer pressure, and assimilation. His main character, Samidha (aka Sam), is not simply dealing with all the pressure of being a teenager, she is revolting against her parents' culture and beliefs. Dutta’s story features many subtle touches of Sam attempting to fit into her view of American life. When Sam finally confronts Tamira, who used to be her childhood best friend, a nightmare is unleashed that forces Sam to confront her beliefs. Dutta crafts a “heros’ journey that Joseph Campbell would be pleased with. Unlike Nancy in Craven’s “Nightmare,” when Sam needs help she has a strong family support system to rely on that adds another dimension to the tale. Additionally, Craven’s Nancy is battling a supernatural that results from the sins of her parents. Here, the appearance of the Pishacha can be seen as a psychological and more complex issue based on Sam’s beliefs and actions. However, like any hero's journey Sam must ultimately find the strength to battle the demon. Dutta’s tale is an exceptional example of horror fiction at its finest.
Clearly Dutta’s previous film work has prepared him well for his feature film debut with IT LIVES INSIDE. The cinematography sets the tone for the film as it maintains a somber mood to the film. He does an excellent job of framing and editing his sequences that adds a lot of tension to the scenes between characters and dread as he builds up to the film's scarier moments. There is a scene when one of the characters is attacked on a wing set that is one for the cinematic history books. Clearly a student and fan of genre films, he plays his creature cards close to his vest as he keeps it in the shadows, building the tension and suspense, building up to its final reveal when Sam must face the nightmare. Even here Dutta keeps it in the shadows, only giving us glimpses, thereby creating a powerful image in the viewer’s subconscious. Truly adding to the emotional intensity of the film is an amazing score by composer Wesley Hughes. There are many unique musical cues that enhance the character’s state of mind in addition to the creepiness of the Pishacha.
The film has a great cast, but the film is clearly Sam’s story, played by actress Megan Suri. Over the years Suri has appeared in numerous television shows, including “Never Have I Ever,” “13 Reasons Why,” and most recently an episode of “Poker Face,” in addition to her film work. She does an outstanding job of drawing the viewer in and taking them along on Sam’s dark epic journey. She conveys the character’s emotional struggles with her family and school life, as well as relationship with her childhood friend. She allows the viewer to feel empathy for the character and she delivers this amazing performance as she builds her resolve in her final battle with the creature.
Bishal Dutta’s feature debut IT LIVES INSIDE is an emotionally disturbing and terrifying coming of age tale. Bishal Dutta is an extremely talented filmmaker who demonstrates a powerful skill as a storyteller. He combines a classic style with a refreshing vision to deliver a formidable tale of terror. Clearly, we can never forget who we are and where we come from because those ancestral myths and legends can haunt a new generation. More frightening is that these nightmares we think we might have left behind can find us regardless of where we settle. IT LIVES INSIDE is a haunting tale that will follow you home. I’m excited to see what Dutta delivers next.

“When Svetaketu was twelve years old, he was sent to a teacher with whom he studied until he was twenty-four. After learning all the Vedas, he returned home full of conceit in the belief that he was consummately well-educated, and very censorious.
His father said to him, "Svetaketu, my child, you are so full of your learning and so censorious, have you asked for that knowledge by which we hear the unhearable, by which we perceive what cannot be perceived and know what cannot be known?" "What is that knowledge, sir?" asked Svetaketu.
His father replied, "As by knowing one lump of clay all that is made of clay is known - so, my child, is that knowledge, knowing which we know all."
"But surely these venerable teachers of mine are ignorant of this knowledge; for if they possessed it they would have imparted it to me. Do you, sir, therefore, give me that knowledge?"
"So be it," said the father... And he said, "Bring me a fruit of the nyagrodha tree." "Here it is, sir." "Break it." "It is broken, sir." "What do you see there?" "Some seeds, sir, exceedingly small." "Break one of these." "It is broken, sir." "What do you see there?" "Nothing at all."
The father said, "My son, that subtle essence which you do not perceive there - in that very essence stands the being of the huge nyagrodha tree. In that which is the subtle essence of all that exists has its self. That is the True, that is the Self, and thou Svetaketu art That."
"Pray, sir", said the son, "tell me more." "Be it so, my child", the father replied; and he said, "Place this salt in water, and come to me tomorrow morning."
The son did as he was told.
Next morning the father said, "Bring me the salt you put in the water."
The son looked for it, but could not find it, for the salt, of course, had dissolved.
Tha father said, "Taste some of the water from the surface of the vessel. How is it?" "Salty." "Taste some from the middle. How is it?" "Salty." "Taste some from the bottom. How is it?" "Salty."
The father said, "Throw the water away and then come back to me again."
The son did so; but the salt was not lost, for the salt existed forever.
Then the father said, "Here likewise in this body of yours, my son, you do not perceive the True; but there, in fact, it is. In that which is the subtle essence, all that exists has its self. That is the True, that is the Self, and thou, Svetaketu, art That."
-Chandogya Upanishad.

May I ask Buddha x fem reader who is very sweetly angry? She is small and has a pretty face. For example, when she finds him under a tree, after learning that he escaped from the ward and was not treated, she frowns and starts stomping her foot like an angry rabbit.
A/N: This was so damn cute!! I thought my heart was gonna explode writing this! I hope you enjoy this!

🍭 Oh he loved how cute you were when angry!
🍭 You would get all angry and your face would get all red
🍭 Your husband was known for disobeying many, including the entirety of your fellow Gods
🍭 Buddha had been in severe condition, and when you heard from Brunhilde that they couldn’t find him, you just sighed and walked off to find the man you somehow called yours
🍭 He sat underneath the same tree that Zeus confronted him at, and you just gritted your teeth when he groaned in pain
“ I should’ve stayed in the infirmary for a bit longer… “ “ Yeah, you should’ve. “
🍭 He jumped and looked at you with a nervous smile, trying to explain what he was doing here, your anger may be cute, but your punishments were fairly mean
🍭 Buddha held his hands out in front of him as he tried explaining yourself, in which you laid in on the ground, since you could tell he was still hurting
“ Buddha, we have talked about this far too many times. You need to stay in the infirmary when you’re hurt! No exceptions! “
🍭 Your cheeks were getting slightly red as he smirked at you
“ Aw~ You’re so cute when you're mad, my sweet! “ “ Huh?! Were you even listening to me?! ”

no but Hindutva is so fucking stupid, because it’s a bunch of old men going around imposing a religion whose main thing is that it’s not a religion; it’s a way of life. a way of life where the gods don’t give a shit if you aren’t a believer and non-believers aren’t going to burn for their sins. a religion that preaches tolerance, the importance of doing good deeds even through you are trapped in a cycle of life, death and suffering. seriously, to break from the cycle, you just have to lead a good life doing good deeds and to help others. nowhere in hindu scriptures does it say that you will not attain moksha if you aren't a hindu; just do the good deeds, and you will become one with God. hinduism is like ‘let live and do good’ it says nowhere that you are a bad person if you aren’t a Hindu in doctrine; that’s what abrahamic religions do. I’m not even sure BJP understand what Hinduism is. fucking idiots.
