As cliché as it sounds, you two met in school. At first, you were simply classmates, mere acquaintances. Thank your teachers since you were paired together on a school project! Thanks to that you spent a lot of time together. You mostly spent time on the school's library. One day, he was late and you decided to have a break and started reading one of your books. When he came, he saw you and started to make conversation thanks to ✨books✨. Slowly, but shortly you discovered those things you have in common. Even when the school semester/year came to an end, you both continued hanging out. You both took the next step and finally started dating, and later one met his brothers that thankfully took you in as one of them since they trust Ruki's criteria. Plus your personality in general was very helpful.

I really think that Ruki isn't someone shallow that cares about physical appeareance. So in that, you can relax and feel reassure that it isn't a big deal. I bet your curves are something that does make him look at you just right. Plus not to mention that it gives the "surprise" factor whenever you decide to try something different from what you usually wear~. He (and me) defenitely disagree that you are the "least" pretty of your friends. Ayato absentmindedly playing and picking on his food was a rare sight, and it irritated Kanato as it ruins his appetite first thing in the morning. He had been doing it since the whole blonde-dream-girl-he-met-at-a-party-run-off-from-him-the-next-day-after-they-had-sex fiasco. Of course, he endured his brothers teasing him to no end, saying how he got dumped for the first time after a one-night stand (because it was rare; like hello, Ayato Sakamaki, the IT boy of Ryoutei University, the infamous college basketball champion.) It wasn't until the jokes don't sound funny anymore and Ayato wasn't eating takoyaki that Kanato and Laito believed this girl must be some serious shit.

And Kanato, being the prick he is, decided to stab his bacon and eggs so loudly in the morning, uncaring if Laito was staring between his older brothers awkwardly. While the concern was there, Kanato can't help but get irritated at Ayato's constant wistful and hopeless romantic longing.

Ugh. Love and all the neuro-shit.

"U-Umm..." Laito started, feeling Kanato's patience slip away, "Ayato-kun, aren't you going to eat-"

"Let him starve himself over some girl who dumped him," Kanato cut in, the stabbing motions not ceasing anytime soon. How dare he anger him? If that's what he wants, then that's what he'll get.

But Ayato was stubborn. Laito gulped nervously at that.

Oh, no.

Kanato slammed his fists on the table. "Okay, what do you want? Just say anything because I am getting sick and tired of your endless moping."

Ayato sighed again, stopping from his usual ministrations. "You can't help me. You don't know her."

Kanato huffed. "Bullshit. We already saw her leave the day after, remember."

"But you don't know where to find her," Ayato countered to which Laito found himself agreeing with.

To be fair, they don't know anything about this mysterious Yui Komori girl. But if they were to have first impression guesses, the girl seemed the honest yet clueless type. She also has the good girl type, the obedient one who always follows her parents' bidding because she is good like that.

However, the girl attended the party in their house and spent that one night with Ayato. That new information doesn't match their impression. Nonetheless, this Yui Komori can quite be a breath of fresh air. After all, this would be the first time Ayato flirted with a girl from the university since all his exes came from different schools.

"So this Bitch-chan has the curiosity of a cat, after all," Laito mused teasingly. "Not a goody two shoes, I see."

"I've asked random people from my course if they know someone called Yui Komori, but they don't seem to recognize one," Ayato said bitterly.

"Hmm... Ayato-kun, what if she's not really studying in Ryoutei University?"

"Nah, that's impossible." The redhead frowned. There's no way Yui would lie to him about studying in Ryoutei. Besides, the only ones invited to their party were people from the university.

"Well, I guess we could just help you look for this Yui Komori," Laito offered with a beaming smile because if this is what it takes for Ayato to stop his endless sighing over hopeless longings, then so be it. Then he turned to Kanato, giving him the "help me out here or else I'll do something despicable to your belongings" look.

Kanato only sighed in exasperation.

What a drag.

It took four days before Laito informed Ayato something about Yui Komori. It happened one day while he was seeing this one random girl he hooked up with from the Philosophy Department. After their intense sex, she mentioned something along the lines of: "I know that girl. She never skips all the classes. But Laito-kun, she's a bit boring, though? Are you sure you're looking for the right girl?"

And another fun fact: Laito had the same class with the Komori girl at 3pm every Tuesdays.

So Ayato became Laito's substitute, sitting in an unfamiliar class with brand new faces. He looked around for any sign of pale blonde hair and flower hairpins and pink until he spotted her. She was careless and lively, giggling at something her classmates said. Afterwards, the class started, the professor making his usual roll call.

"Sakamaki Laito?"

Ayato raised his hand. "Here."

The professor didn't care, but some of the students whispered, "Eh? But that's not Laito, though. It's the Ayato one."

At the mention of his name, Yui whipped her head back and saw Ayato, sitting five rows away from her. She immediately turned away and tried to shrink from his presence.

What's he doing here?

Once classes ended, Yui quickly got out of her seat and rushed towards the door, letting the crowd of students from the hallway take her until Ayato couldn't see her anymore. Ayato sighed in defeat. It was a one-time chance, and yet he failed.

"So what now?" Laito asked, munching on his salted caramel popcorn as he watched this new movie he rented with Kanato at their living room. "You'll have to wait for Tuesday to see her again."

"I don't have time for that," Ayato countered. "My practice schedule has been moved to Tuesday next week."

Kanato buried his face into Teddy's head, hugging the stuffed bear closer. "We could ask Reiji to give us a copy of her schedule. He's doing an assistant teacher job until next month," he suggested, then he remembered, "Nah. It's a bad idea. As if Reiji would let us know someone's class schedule. He abides by the rule."

"Looks like there goes your hopes and dreams, Ayato-kun," Laito remarked in despair.

Or so they thought.

Why? Because Kanato passed by Yui Komori in the hallway on Thursday. What's more? Her class is held at room 403 from 1pm to 5pm.

He knew because he skipped one of his minor classes and see where this blonde girl will move. He even approached one of her classmates and pretended he was quite interested, making some nonsensical flirtatous remarks on her because the girl looked so easy.

"O-O-Oh that?" the poor girl tucked her hair behind her ear and shyly handed out her class schedule. "Y-You can check it; I don't mind. As long as we see each other after this."

As if Kanato will let that happen.

Ayato was chugging on one of his water bottles in the kitchen when Kanato approached him and said, "I saw your dream girl today."

The redhead stopped at that, turning all his focus on the middle triplet. "Where?"

Suddenly, Kanato whipped out his phone and typed something. Afterwards, Ayato's phone beeped and when he opened it, he received a picture of a class schedule.

"I met a girl who goes to all same classes with that Yui Komori," Kanato informed. "Make sure to use it wisely or else." Because I am so tired of you being so lovesick as hell.

"O-Oh," Ayato was glad. Finally, he could see her again. "Thanks, Kanato."

"Just buy me two pints of ice cream."

"Sure."

"I want the new biscoff one and the chocolate chip cookie."

"Yeah, yeah. Whatever."

Yui was bored. Apparently their professor for their 4-hour class this Friday afternoon was absent due to sudden cold. She sighed in her seat, contemplating where she could go since her next class would be for 6 pm onwards.

"U-Umm... Komori-san!" a female classmate called.

"Y-Yes?"

"Y-Your boyfriend's calling out for you."

"Eh? Boyfriend?"

Then she saw some of her classmates whispering to each other, glancing briefly at her before going back to their own businesses. Yui decided she should find ot who this mystery boyfriend, although there's only one person that comes to mind.

I hope he's not who I'm thinking.

"Yo, Chichinashi," Ayato greeted, the familiar smirk flashing on him. "It's been a while."

Yui blushed at the familiar nickname, the whispers behind her getting louder.

This was the start of a roller coaster story.

I’ve been reading and seeing a lot of writers do this prompt of where the vampire hoes are kids and the reader is their caregiver or “mother” and they melt my heart and I honestly want to write about it and it obviously will 🫣 I just thought it was so cute and people need more of this content hehe, I’ll only do the Sakamaki boys first to see if people enjoy this and then after I’ll add the Mukami bois))

Shu:

-He is a very energetic kid, he just wasn’t allowed to show it because his mother always forced him to mature way to early in his life. He is also very skeptical when it comes to you. He has learned not to trust people so easily because there is always strings attached when it comes to kindness.

-When he was given to your care he was terrified but happy. Happy that he isn’t in that terrible manor anymore, as well as being away from his mother and her abusive tendencies. But he was scared that this wouldn’t last forever. It’s as if he’s dreaming and he fears to wake up. He was very very distant the first few weeks when he was settling in to his new home. You have to give him space, this kid has been through a lot and he just needs to reassure himself that he is safe.

-But once he does warm up to his new life, and to you he is filled with pure joy. He loves to play outside with you. He especially loves to play hide and seek with you, if he is the one hiding he would sometimes jump out of his hiding spot to scare you.

“Oh my I wonder where he went..?” You said as you were honestly a bit defeated. Shu was such a good hider and sometimes it was impossible to find him half of the time.

You shook your head as you let out a quiet sigh. Before you could enjoy your peaceful moment Shu would have jumped out in front of you with his hands up in the air as he laughed. The sudden reaction startled you, screaming you would cover your mouth as you seemed relieved that it was only him.

“Haha! I got you again!” Shu said cheerfully as he grinned a bit, showing off his small fangs. You would laugh as you ruffled his hair “Yes you did, but I swear my love you might give me a heart attack one of these days..”

Shu would smile as he shook his head “oh please you’re just no match for me.. after all I am the master at hide and seek..” he said in a cocky tone as he gently grabbed your hand.

“Whatever big shot.. next time I’ll win.. and I’ll be the one scaring you..” you teased as you gently squeezed his hand. Causing the young boy to stiffen a bit, but he would relax as he leaned against your touch.

-As we know he had a lot of trauma that deals with fire, he tends to have nightmares of the incident that happened to his dear friend.

-When Shu had a nightmare he’s quiet, he doesn’t want to talk about it and tends to keep it to himself until the terrifying feeling goes away. But you notice it instantly. He wants to tell you and he wants your comfort but he just doesn’t have the guts to do so. He was trained to deal with his own problems and the poor boy cannot help it.

It would be early in the morning as the sun was barely rising in the horizon. You got up early to get a head in making breakfast for the two of you. But as you walked out of your room you would have stumbled upon Shu who was sitting in front of your bedroom door, curled up into a ball as he seemed exhausted and distressed. His tired blue eyes would slowly look up at you as he frowned.

You took a deep breath as you kneeled down beside him “lemme guess.. you dreamt of it again..?” You said softly as you gently creased the boys back. He would flinch for a moment but would instantly lean into your touch.

He wouldn’t say anything but he would slowly nod. You frowned at him. It hurts to see this bright young boy be so terrified.

You would slowly wrap your arms around him as you held him in your arms he wouldn’t instantly melt into your touch as he rested his head against your chest. “Would you like to talk about it..?” You asked as you looked down at him.

“No.. I just want to sleep.. I’m tired..” he mumbled as he fiddled with one of the buttons on your shirt.

“Would you like to sleep in my bed.. while I make breakfast for us..?” He would seem surprised as he looked up at you “I’m allowed to sleep in your bed..?” He said as the excitement would return to his eyes.

You smiled down at the blonde boy as you nodded “of course my love you are allowed to.. now go get some rest..” you said as you helped him up on his feet before sending him to bed

-He is very thankful to be with you, he doesn’t know how to repay you but he likes to help you out when it comes to house chores, he may not do some of the chores correctly but still.. let the boy show his gratitude towards you.!

- GET THIS BABY A FUCKING PUPPY NOWWWW!

-He will literally burst into tears of joy if you get him a puppy, or even the same exact dog that Edger gave to him. Just get this kid a dog.

-Give him the freedom that he never really got growing up, but also keep him in line. Don’t be too strict and overbearing with him. That will remind him too much of his mother and he will lose trust in you. Just love the kid for who he is and let him be adventurous!

Reiji:

-Ohhh this kid tends to always have his nose in a new book, hell he would most likely even read a damn dictionary if he ran out of books.

-It was a big shock to Reiji when he was thrown into your care. Who would want him? His own mother doesn’t want him so why would anyone else. But once he met you he was very unsure about it all.

- He was quiet the first few weeks, but when you talked to him he would respond but other than that he just did his own thing and expected to be ignore like he always had been.

Like one day he was in his room, writing out some formula he found in a science book into his journal. You went to go check on him, as you walked into his room you notice the journal on his desk “My dear.. what is that if you don’t mind me asking..”

The boy would sigh as he adjusted his glasses “Well, it’s just a journal I keep with me when I discover new findings..” he said bluntly

You would be surprised, a child his age doesn’t really enjoy those types of things. But of course Reiji is one of kind. “Oh my that’s rather interesting.. do you mind if I take a look at your work..?”

After hearing that Reiji would be shocked “I.. well I suppose I don’t mind if I show you..” with that you pulled up a chair beside him as he showed you through his work. He’d be blushing from embarrassment because this is the first time he has ever shown his work to anyone.

You stared down at the book in amazement “Reiji this is beautiful.. I’ve never seen such amazing work.. you did a wonderful job..” you said as the boy would look even more shocked than before. Those are the words he’s been dying to hear. For someone to be truly proud of him makes his heart ache. After that moment he was focused on wanting to make you even more proud.

-He wants to impress you. In every little thing he does he would do it 10x better.

-He loves to be praised and to be appreciated.

- He assures you that he doesn’t need to be babied, or spoiled. That’s just too much of a childish thing to do. But deep down that boy wants to be spoiled and to be babied just like his elder brother was.

You and Reiji were out on a stroll in one of the near by parks that was close to your home. Reiji would have been talking about a Tea flavor that he was wanting to try out. “You see.. they say this tea is very helpful when it comes to people with bad eyesight.. so I was wondering if I could try it out-“ before he could finish Reiji’s shoes would have been untied and he ended up stepping on one of the laces and would trip and fall

You gasped as you quickly kneeled down beside him “oh my goodness Reiji are you alright..!?” You would panic as you examine the child. His knee was scraped up as it bled a little bit.

Reiji would grumble as he shook his head “I.. I’m fine..” he said as his eyes watered a bit. It embarrassed Reiji that he fell in front of you.. it makes him sick to his stomach that he made such a fool out of himself.

You would frown as your hand would gently crease his cheek, wiping the tears away. “It’s alright.. don’t cry my dear it happens to the best of us..”

This would calm Reiji down as he leaned against your hand for a long moment. You smiled at him, but you would pull your hand away as you grabbed a handkerchief from your bad as you wiped the blood off his knee. “We will get you cleaned up once we get home..” you said as you tied his shoes. Before he could get up you would have picked him up in your arms.

Reiji would blush from embarrassment, how dare you pick him up as if he is some kind of baby.. he is not a baby.. “I can walk on my own I’ll be fine..”

Laughing a bit you held him close before walking down the path once more “I know you are capable of walking on your own.. but go back to that tea you were talking about .. it sounds rather interesting..”

Reiji couldn’t understand why you treat him this way.. but he won’t lie.. it feels good to be carried and to be loved for.. he couldn’t help it.. he would rest his head against your shoulder as he would continue to ramble to you.

-He love it when you get him new books. Sometimes he will read them for you

-he doesn’t really “play” but he can find some interesting hobbies for you two to do.

-You need to give him all the attention in the world.. it’s always makes him smile when you do. Over all he is happy to be with you. And he will do anything to make you happy! HE WANTS YOU TO BE PROUD OF THE THINGS HE DOES FOR YOUUUUUU!

Ayato:

-He is a little ankle biter.. HE WOULD MOST LIKELY BITE YOU. he is very hyper kid. And needs to be put on one of those animal leash things that parents need to use when they take their kid to Disney land.

-HE WAS OVERJOYED TO LEAVE THAT HELL HOLE. He was all over the place when he first moved into your home. But he doesn’t trust you quite yet. You gained a lot of trust just by wanting him to be with you and getting him out of the abusive household that he was in.

-But he doesn’t know you as a person and he will be a bit skittish when you’re around but once you show this kid one ounce of attention he will be all over you. He clings to you basically and wants you to praise him every five minutes to fuel his ego.

-He loves spending time with you, and he tries to as much as he can. He quiet literally wakes you up in the morning by jumping on your bed.

Ayato would have somehow managed to sneak into your room without alerting you. As he climbed on the bed he had a mischievous grin on his face. He would then jump on the bed which would cause you to groan

“Ayato.. please let me sleep for one more hour..” you begged as you hid under the sheets

“Never! The earlier we wake up the more time we have to play!” He screeched as he laid on top of you “plus it’s like nine in the morning..”

“My love it’s five in the morning.. the sun hasn’t even come out yet..”

Ayato looked out the window as he rolled his eyes “same thing..” he pouts. Causing you to laugh you would pull him in to the covers with you. “Oh hush my little hyper bat.. let’s sleep a bit and then I promise you and I’ll play all day..”

Ayato smiled as he rested against you, embracing your warmth as it calmed him down.

-You better be active because this kid will drain your battery.

-He loves holding your hand, when you’re out with him. He has to be 100% sure that you won’t leave his side :(

-As long as you praise him in the small things he accomplishes. He will be happy. Don’t control him to the point it will remind him of Cordelia. There will be times where you have to scold him when he does a bad thing but you also have to teach him why you scolded him. His mother never had a reason to punish him at times, when he didn’t want to listen to her she would go insane. You on the other hand teach him why he was scolded to make him learn from his mistakes.

Kanato:

-One word. Clingy

-Very very clingy. Like you literally don’t have to carry him, he just hangs on you like a little leech. A cute but deadly leech.

-He was terrified when he first arrived at his new home. This brought him out of his comfort zone to the max. He was hiding under his bed for a good four days. You didn’t know what to do, the poor thing was just petrified of his new surroundings.

-You literally had to lay on the floor to try to coax him out of his hiding spot.

Laying on the hard wood flooring of your house you stared at the purple eyes that stared back at you. You gave a soft smile as you gently placed your hand out too him. “You know I won’t hurt you my dear.. everything is alright.. you’re safe now..”

The child flinched at your sudden motion, clinging onto his stuffed bear he tried to move away a from your hand. “Hey hey.. it’s alright..you have nothing to be afraid of..she will no longer hurt you..”

The boy stopped for moment when you mentioned her, looking at you and then your hand he frowns “Y-you promise..?” He would muffle against the teddy bears head as tears would begin to form in his eyes

Nodding you would gently take his hand as you creased his small knuckles “I promise I won’t let her or anyone hurt you ever again.. now please come out my dear.. it’s not safe to be under here..”

Within seconds the boy crawled up out from under the bed as he sniffled a bit. You would sit up as you dried the child’s tears away “see everything is alright..” you said calmly as the boy would finally relax

-After that he never left your side, it doesn’t matter if you were cleaning or cooking. He always had his hand clinging onto your clothes. Even if you were to tell him to play he’d rather stay by your side.

-You even find him in your bed every morning. You tucked him in the night before and yet he still manages to sneak into your room. He loves sleeping beside you, after all you keep all the nightmares away.

-He probably has kicked you several times in the face because of how often he moves around in his sleep.

-Did I mention that he’s clingy..?

-He throws a fit when you aren’t able to hold him.

-Demonically screams anywhere at anytime. It’s rather embarrassing when you’re in public.

-He also throws fits for the smallest reasons. Wether his crayon broke while he was coloring or he accidentally tripped up the stairs. Whatever the reason may be he ends up throwing a fit

-He’s the type of kid to roll around and kick their feet on the ground when they have a temper tantrum

-You might want to give into his demands but he will not learn anything if you just do that. So it’s better to put him in time out until he calms down. And then when he does you explain to him why he was placed in time out and you have him apologize for his behavior

-This kid hates time out btw

-It takes you about 4-6 tries to sit him down on the chair before he could start his punishment. He constantly gets up and tries to get picked up by you. BUT WATCH OUT HE WILL CLING ONTO YOUR SHIRT IF YOU TRY TO PUT HIM BACK ON THE CHAIR.

-A living nightmare some of the time but he can also be very sweet.

-He will sing for you on certain days. He loves to sing for you.

-You are also the only one who is allowed to hold teddy. No one else but you and him can talk and carry teddy around..

-Other than that he is one of the harder Sakamaki kids to manage with his temper tantrums but he is a sweetheart when he’s in the mood to be.

Laito:

-Ah he makes me sad.

-He acts happy but this poor baby is just scared and depressed. (I mean all of them are depressed but we all know that Laito hides behind his smile a lot)

-His mother mistreated him to the point that he just doesn’t know why anyone would want a kid like him.?

-He’s confused the first few days, but he doesn’t hide or ignore you, he talks to you and smiles whenever you ask him anything. But you always catch an glimpse of him staring off into space.

-Even when he warms up to you he still expects you to turn on him. He’s just so terrified that your kindness is nothing but a bunch of lies.

Is was a nice cool afternoon, Laito was sitting in the backyard as he enjoyed the small breeze that hit his red locks. Looking up at the sky he would admire the clouds above him. You would soon approach him as you sat beside him. “You know that cloud looks a lot like a cat..” you teased playfully

He smiled a bit as he shook his head “It looks more like a rabbit other than anything..” he said as he scooted away from you a bit.

You’d notice as you frowned a bit “Still not used to this type of life huh.?” You said softly

He would pause as his green eyes slowly met yours “Uh.. no not really.. it’s not that I’m not grateful..I just don’t understand.. why you want me here.. I’m kinda useless..”

“Oh don’t say that.. you know I hate it when you talk poorly about yourself.. when I heard about your story.. it broke my heart.. I wanted to give you a life that you deserve..”

He seemed shocked at your words he would look down at his hands as he fiddled with his fingers “you’re not lying about it.. right..? Because if you’re just gonna trick me then do it now..”

You would be confused with what he said as you shook your head “What? Laito no..I am not here to trick you in anyway.. I understand that you are still having trouble trying to trust me but listen just this once.. I want you here so you can be a normal child.. you deserve a happy life.. and I am willing to do anything to keep you safe from any harm.. I promise..”

Laito would stay quiet as he watched you, he would soon smile. Now this was no ordinary Laito smile.. it was a true genuine smile. He understood that you are telling the truth. He would look back at the clouds “That one looks like a old man..” he laughed which would cause you to smile as well “you are adorable..” you said as you placed your hand around his shoulder

-He likes to do anything you’d like to do. He never found a hobby because no one really cared for what he did. You were the one who taught him how to do crossword puzzles, he loved it.

-He won’t admit it but he loves it when you give him small affection gestures. Like when you crease his hair, or when your smother his cheek with kisses when he does something right. He learned from you what it really meant to be loved by someone. And he will always be grateful for that.

Subaru:

-Angry little man

-He trashed his room when he first moved in with you. He was overwhelmed with the change he just couldn’t handle the emotions. But it’s okay, you can build a new dresser 😢

-How can a six year old do so much damage, even today you are still trying to figure out how..

-Once you managed to calm him down he was very shy, he tends to be like that majority of the time. But when he is overwhelmed he gets angry .

-He gets scared thinking you’ll hurt him for ruining his room.

After hearing final crash come from Subarus room you took a deep breath a decided to go in. As you opened the door you would find him sitting in the middle of the room with his knees up to his chest and his head buried within his knees. Shaking from the overwhelming emotions he’s been keeping within him.

You would slowly sit beside him as you placed your hand on his small back, but he would slap your hand away “Don’t touch me! I’m nothing but filth! I’ll only hurt you if you get in my way!” He sobbed

Wincing you would rub your hand a bit as you shook your head “Well what if I told you that you aren’t filth and that I don’t think you’ll hurt me..”

Subaru narrowed his eyes at you as he wiped the tears from his face “I just slapped your hand..”

“You were mad.. you didn’t know how to react..”

“I trashed your room.. and everything you gave me..?”

“Subaru you are trying to adapt to a new environment.. you have every right to be overwhelmed.. but I want you to know that I’m here for you..and if you ever feel overwhelmed we can talk it out..”

Subarus gaze would soften a bit but he would still be a bit hesitant “You’re not gonna hurt me for ruining your room..?”

“Oh no of course not.. we can rebuild everything.. me and you will get this done in no time..” you chuckled as the boy seemed surprised “now let me make you something.. it will help you calm down..” you said as you’d stood up, offering the boy your hand he would slowly take it.

-He is like your little body guard, he will protect you no matter what.. but you aren’t the only one who needs protecting..

-He’s a very vulnerable little kid, and emotionally unstable at times.

-He is quiet around other people but when he’s with you he could talk up a storm

-When he’s meeting new people he hides behinds your legs.

-You teach him new ways of dealing with his anger, instead of trashing the things around him he can do a breathing technique. To help him calm his nerves. Or count the petals on flowers when he’s feeling overwhelmed.

-He likes being carried around as well, feeling secure in someone’s arms that he truly feels safe to be around with makes him calm, but he’d be blushing the entire time.

-He gets flustered easily, just don’t point it out and it will be alright. If you do he will get even more flustered

-Take your time with him, he would be the second hardest to deal with because of his anger. But if you teach him the ways to control it. He is willing to listen. He hates his temper, he will do anything to help it. He doesn’t want to scare you away with his emotions.

Translator’s note: What better date spot for Ruki than a book cafe? This man really has an obsession with literature after all. I’m not much of a reader myself, but Ruki’s natural charms could probably win me over to start reading more lol. I do wish the CD elaborated more on the picture book which the MC gave him though. It was really cute how she sees him in such a different light than he sees himself and it got me intrigued about the actual plot of the story. Unfortunately, it got completely forgotten afterwards as the focus shifted to the book Ruki picked out for her instead. 

The two of you are at a cafe. 

*Thud*

“I was somewhat worried that there might not be any open seats given the small size of the cafe, but we got lucky.”

You note that it is a very nice cafe.

“Yes. It’s a lovely store, isn’t it? I have always wanted to take you here. The library section over there is part of the interior, allowing you to enjoy a good book while also having a cup of coffie or tea.”

You tell him these kind of stores are rising in popularity. 

“Is that so? I had no idea these kind of book cafes were popular nowadays.”

A waiter approaches them.

*Thud*

“Ah, we’d like to order. For me...Hm. A decanter of mandheling coffee, please. What about you?”

You frown.

“Having a hard time deciding?”

You nod.

“Simply pick whatever you enjoy. ...However, I do not dislike how you are asking for my advice. Let me think. ...How about this red smoothie for you? I believe the berry base will make for a light drink. Besides, red is truly your color.”

You ask him what he means by that.

“Heh. No hidden meaning. If you have no issues with it, I’ll place our order. ...Okay. I would like one of these for her.”

The waiter leaves.

“Well then, why don’t we go pick out some books next?”

The two of you get up.

*Rustle*

“Hm? What’s the matter?”

You explain.

“Once again, you have come up with quite the strange suggestion. You want to pick out books for each other...In other words, you will choose a book which you want me to read?”

You nod.

“I do not mind, however, where is this suddenly coming from?”

You start blushing.

“Huh? Why get embarrassed about it now? Ahー I get it. To pick out a book for someone, you need to have a solid grasp of their interests and thoughts. One has to really think it through, trying to imagine what the other person would enjoy. I assume you want to enjoy seeing me go to such extends for you?”

You shake your head.

“I am not too far off, am I? You want me to pay mind to you, don’t you? Not a bad suggestion. In return, you should wreck your head picking out a book for me as well. I am sure you are aware what will happen...if you choose a book which is not to my liking?”

You flinch.

“Hah...Well, good luck looking for a book which fancies my tastes.”

*TIMESKIP*

You return.

“Heh. You sure took your sweet time. Our drinks have long arrived to the table.”

*Rustle*

“Oh? You went for a rather hefty-looking piece of literature. Is it a picture book?”

You nod and explain.

“I see. When you say it is a book you read as a child, it does pique my interest. However...I did not expect you to match me with a picture book.”

You start to panic.

“Don’t worry, I know. You went to the section with academic studies first, didn’t you? I saw you pick out one book after the other, dropping your shoulders in defeat. I assume you tried to go for something a little more sophisticated to fit my interests, but you failed to grasp the contents of them yourself, hence why you chose a different approach.”

You ask him if he was watching.

“Yes, I was watching? ...Is there a problem with that? ...Heh. Your face is bright red. It’s not like I’m not aware of your ignorance on the topic. Besides, I think it was a wise decision of you to go for something a little more in your comfort zone, rather than to force yourself to pick a difficult piece of literature. 

...So, what is so fascinating about this picture book?”

*Flip* 

“It is very colorful, that is for sure. So much so, I’d call it somewhat of a misfit for me.”

You frown.

“Eh...? ...! It fits me? I have a hard time seeing that. Personally, I would argue that black, white and other monotones fit me much better. I am that kind of man after all.”

You disagree. 

“You think so? That’s unexpected. Do I really give off such a vibrant image to you? ...I wonder if I have begun to change from spending time with you? I shall gladly read this picture book.”

You nod.

“Why do you seem so happy? ...Once a strange girl, always a strange girl, I suppose. ...Oh, right. I have yet to give you your book. For you, I have picked out Plato’s ‘The Apology of Socrates’.” 

You seem intimidated by the book.

“Your expression visibly changed. No need to be so nervous. It is actually much easier of a book than you might assume. I believe that by comparing the trial and the way the characters’ express their beliefs at court as described in the book with your own personal situation will make for an interesting interpretation of this Classic. ーー After all, you were thrown in the Vampire’s den, your life now in their hands. It might actually help teach you a thing or two.”

You get upset.

“I am only joking. Don’t take my words so seriously. I simply hope that this could serve as a leaway to introduce you to the world of philosophy. Go ahead and take a peek instead.”

*Flip*

“What do you think? ーー Although I suppose that is an unnecessary question. You are frowning. To think you would struggle from the second you turned the first page. ...Oh well, I suppose it cannot be helped.”

Ruki gets up.

“Allow me to take a seat next to you.”

*Thud*

“What’s making it so difficult for you? I’ll explain to you as you read.”

You seem flustered by the closeness.

“What’s the matter? The book is slipping from your hands. I’ll suppor your hands, so keep a tight grip, okay?”

*Rustle*

“...Hm? Is it just me, or is your face even redder than before? Don’t tell me...You’re not nervous simply because our hands are touching, are you?”

You explain.

Ahー I see. I’m sitting too close to you, correct? You do have a point. However, the book is too difficult for you to understand on your own, right? In which case, we will have to stay like this until we’ve gone through the entire thing.”

You ask for his help.

“Heh. ...Such a charming reaction. I’ll show some mercy and leave the teasing at this for today.”

Your eyes widen in surprise.

“Oh? You’ve only realized just now. Of course I did it on purpose. If I selected a difficult book, you would definitely seek out help from me. I could imagine your innocent reaction if I were to sit down next to you and read along from the same book...The end result was very much worth it.”

 You pout.

“No need to sulk. This is just my way of showing that I was thinking of you when I picked the book. When thinking of you and the feelings you trigger within myself, I felt a strong desire to simply spend time by your side.”

*Rustle*

“I want to feel your touch, even by something as simple as holding your hands like this. To feel your warmth. ...I simply could not stop those feelings from welling up inside of me. I suppose I truly have changed quite a bit ever since meeting you.”

You look up at him. 

“Hm? What’s the matter? If you want to say something, go ahead.”

You admit to feeling the same way.

“You feel the same way? How so?”

You explain.

“Heh. ...I see. In that case, let us stay like this for a bit. We can read a book just fine even while holding hands like this. Spending our afternoon drowning in a sea of words together does not sound half way.”

I have no idea if the requests are open or not I looked and there was nothing to say so I'm blindly asking (you can ignore it if you want) but I want to request headcones for Lilia, Maleus, Riddle and Rook for an O/S fem who is like Yui Komori, who is sweet, kind and a very nice person (you can insult her and she will still treat you kindly) but had to be a vampire sacrifice bride (and now she has a phobia of vampires, until it cost her approaching Lilia as he looked like one) she even has fangs

Thank you for the ask Anon, and sorry for the confusion! To be honest I’ve been trying to decide if I want to take requests down due to how busy school has been keeping me. But since you got your request in before any decisions were made or anything was changed I was thrilled to receive your request. It is my first one after all! I did my best, but to be honest I’ve never watched Diabolik Lovers so my knowledge regarding Yui Komori is limited. I’ve also never written for Rook or Lilia and have never written head-canons so this post is a lot of firsts! I hope you enjoy! Head-canons under the cut due to length.

Lilia

Honestly so sad when you seemed to be afraid of him

Please don’t be afraid, he would never hurt you.

The only time he has really pushed you about anything was when he was getting you so you weren’t afraid of him. Yes, he did enlist Silver’s help. He was a little desperate.

Very gentle with you. He understands your fears and respects them. You have every right to fear vampires. Despite loving to pick on people he would never tease you about this.

He’ll ask a few questions about your past, but as he learns how traumatic it was he’ll pull back and let you tell him on your own time. He doesn’t want to push too hard and cause you to relive something unpleasant.

In fact he wants to help you recover from your experience. It’s a primary focus for him.

To that end, he stands up for you. Advises you that there is no need to take such abuse from anyone. 

That said, he understands your timid nature and won’t push the subject too much. He’ll encourage you to stand up for yourself, but also look out for you himself. Probably also asks Silver to look out for you too.

Either way it's handled and you are well-protected.

Big on hugs so brace yourself there. He is very affectionate. 

Please play games with him. He’ll be over the moon and only picks games that won’t scare you for your gaming sessions.

He genuinely thinks you are the sweetest thing and constantly refers to you as a cutie.

Also finds your little fangs so cute. You match and he lives for it.

Generally very patient with you and your timid skittish nature. But don’t worry, he’s still playful. Just controlled in his playfulness.

Please, please, PLEASE don’t flinch away from this boy. He is so used to people being scared of him, it would kill him if you were too.

Finds your timid, gentle, and sweet nature charming.

To be blunt, he’s smitten.

He actually approached you initially because you have fangs and he thought you might be fae like him. Was a little disappointed when you weren’t. Don;t worry, he got over it.

Is honestly angry when he hears about your past. How dare they treat you in such a fashion.

He assures you that you’ll never have to suffer in such a way ever again. He’ll make sure of that.

Also encourages you to trust Lilia. The old fart might be a rascal, but he would never hurt you.

Won’t stand for you being walked over or looked down on and will stand up for you. Will also encourage you to stand up for yourself, but will understand if you are just too skittish to do so.

He’s got this, his scary reputation has its uses after all. All he has to do is shoot them a look and whoever is bothering you runs for the hills.

He just, really adores you and the fact you are with him despite your timid nature. It really sends him over the moon.

Also, cute couple points. Dark looming fellow with a timid girlfriend that hides behind him.

It destroys him when you hide behind him. You really are just too cute. It’s bad for his heart.

Riddle

So, so good. He takes such good care of you while also being his stiff, slightly awkward self.

His awkwardness is actually really good for you in a weird way. He isn’t likely to push too far with affectionate acts and he’s really patient.

Sets up an entire set of rules between the two of you so that he doesn’t cross any lines.

Rule # 1: No neck kisses. He doesn’t want to scare you.

Was honestly so mad when he found out about your past. He went red-faced and everything. Didn’t calm down till he realized he was scaring you a teensy bit.

Was so gentle after that.

Your timid nature is such a good fit for him. It really helps him to calm down and lose his temper less. He doesn’t want to scare you.

Less huggy than the other people on this list because he really doesn’t want to upset you. He could never take seeing you get scared because of him.

However, as he gets more confident and learns what does and doesn’t upset you he will cuddle on occasion.

Here is the story: I have a terrible memory, so I write down all my passwords in a tiny post-it. One day I changed computer and… I couldn't access into my account anymore! And I couldn't find my post-it anywhere in my house. I thought I had lost this blog! That is when: surprise! I found it today as I cleaned my wardrobe and I found a box filled with stationery materials looking for a thing to write something else lol. I thought this blog would be gone or maybe Tumblr might have deleated it due to lack of activity, but here it is!!!

I'm so happy to have recovered it! I wonder if anyone is still around~! I noticed many people that sent their match up are no longer active, but if people that are still around and remember sending me their match up before I disappeared… would you like me to answer them? Or maybe should I clean my ask box and start a new?

I'm still into DL, but I'm also thinking into expanding into other fandoms I entered in between: Ikemen vampire, ikemen revolution and Ikemen Prince if any is interested!

I really could've picked any of the boys from that series really but this dude literally keeps referring to the MC as little bitch. Also, asshole wears a fedora. The fact he made the most datable poll astounds me

He's not a nice man with Yui (the protagonist) and even do some deplorable things with her when she SAYS she doesn't want to. He has a sobbing backstory and uses that to do whatever he wants. He should go to a psychiatrist. In jail.

He is a rapist! In both the anime and the games, he sexually harasses Yui. I can't remember if it was more explicit in the games, but there was a cutaway scene in the church Yui grew up in where he forces himself on her. Like the other vampire brothers, he enjoys causing her pain and suffering, and he particularly likes playing mind games with her along with his usual shit. Canonically, Yui is just the last girl in a very, very long line of "sacrificial brides" who the brothers all ended up killing in one way or another. Laito may look and act like a teenager, but he's an immortal vampire and he knows what he's doing.

This man repeatedly assaults the protagonist (Yui) because he wants to "taint" her. At first he only strips her and touches her only laughing when she says no because "well what a perverted woman, why aren't you being honest with yourself" and it's implied that he rapes her. There's a scene where Yui contemplate suicide (keep in mind she's religious and try to keep her faith even while abused so it's a big deal) because she can't take it anymore, and then Laito shows up in her bath and makes her harm herself. He humiliates her in public. He's just horrible. His excuse is that his mother abused him and he convinced himself he liked it and he loved her. At the end of his route Yui is totally broken in my opinion, convinced she is tainted now and losing her faith in god. Granted he isn't the worst of his brothers but this man is definitely undatable. While he softens in later games, this man is horrible.

Oh I could go ON AND ON but here’s a list: He’s a stalker, he showed up late to a date HE REQUESTED, he killed either your landlord, roommate, or coworker (depending on route) and stuck them in a freezer, lied to the police about it, followed by a car ride either consisting of traumadumping about his family (valid tbh) or him talking about how much he wants to fuck your brains out, then you finding a bloody knife in his glove compartment, asking about it, and him smashing your head into the window to shut you up while he takes you to his house. He is The Worse Datable, as well as The Only Datable because well…he killed the others…and kidnapped you….

Many violence, Yandere behavior, cut your leg off in a semi-canon series of illustrations, smashed your head into the passenger side window of his creepy van, chloroformed you in your own house, brought you flowers that were probably tainted with his own blood, given context from another route. Generally a terrible person. Also just very strange to look at :/

In the most honest way, who do you think deserves to be the protagonist of Diabolik Lovers?

Ayato is one of the best main guys in otome games and let me tell you why:

Usually true lovers are portrayed as gentlemanly, calculated, and mature, and all characters admire them. When it comes to these types of guys, there isn't much room for growth because they're already cool and loved, which is what makes Ayato (and other main guys like him) stand out. He's the most misunderstood and insulted character in the entire franchise, and he's the polar opposite of what any of them would consider "ideal." I'm aware that Ayato also calls others names, but his insults aren't nearly as offensive, and he never tries to hurt anyone where it hurts them the most.

He received one of the best developments; while not as significant as Laito's, Yui enabled him to reclaim something long forgotten: his kindness. Ayato was known for being pure-hearted, as Laito also mentioned. The problem is that he stopped displaying this trait over time because every time he did something good, he ended up getting hurt.

You can notice that in Ayato’s MB route, in the flashback, Cordelia was impatiently waiting for Karl’s visit, but all he did was send her a blue rose. Knowing flower language, Ayato deduced that the rose represented "something impossible," which referred to Karl's love for Cordelia. He was aware such a thing would make his mom sad, therefore he started stepping on the rose but got beaten up by Cordelia for ruining her gift. Another scene is in Laito's MB route, where Ayato tries to convince Laito that what he was doing with Cordelia was wrong because there was no mutual love between them, but all he gets in return is "you're just a kid unable to understand such things" and "you're jealous because she loves me, not you!" I obviously can’t forget the YoungBlood scene, where he sacrificed himself for his brothers in order to find out more information and got severely beaten up by the ghouls, ending up with a traumatic memory and being CURSED as Adam. He’s also the only Sakamaki who noticed something fishy about the coming of age ceremony.

I love how, ever since Yui entered his life, he has been working on himself to become a better person. He's willing to work on his flaws and never hesitates to say or do something that could help someone. There are various types of kindness, but I particularly admire Ayato's because he not only feels bad for others or considers helping them, but also almost always takes action on the spot when someone is in a dangerous situation, regardless of whether he will be injured or hated as a result.

I'd also like to point out that the plot details (not lore) are best explained in his routes, but that's something that usually happens in otoge true routes, so it's obvious.

Last but not least, him and Yui are soulmates and I’m a sucker for this trope. It was confirmed in YoungBlood that they are fated to be together, which Rejet hinted at a long time ago, especially in an official Tokuten short story, translated by Koiiro on Wordpress:

Yui- "As for me, I clearly remember the reason why I fell in love with you, Ayato-kun. But it also feels like I've loved you all my life, and maybe I've gotten addicted to you before I knew it."

Ayato- “I do… remember the moment I fell in love with you… though, it also feels like I've loved you all my life."

I'm glad they both remembered why they fell in love with each other; it proves that their love isn’t just for the sake of being reunited as Adam and Eve, but is also something genuine.

I have a strong feeling that their relationship is currently the healthiest and most normal because they are both on the same wavelength and he really treats her so good! After all, a mentally strong and brave boy is the best match for a mentally strong and brave girl! ٩̋(ˊ•͈ ꇴ •͈ˋ)و
