there's an dinosaur MMO i like playing (Path of Titans) and with most games like that, the global in-game chat gets pretty fucking toxic.

so i've been running a lil experiment the last two weeks whenever i play.

there are ways within the game that you can help other players. for sure you can ignore those and just go out and fight/kill everyone you come across, killing other players is a major factor of the game and one im not trying to stop. the combat is fun. But i've been purposefully going out of my way to help ppl. most times, its at a loss to myself, as the best way to help is to let other players kill me. this gives them a reward which helps in the long run.

it took a few days for ppl to start catching on that i was indeed there to help and not lead them into a trap. a week and i had ppl actively seeking me out whenever i log in, politely asking if i could help them.

now, a little over two weeks later, the trend of kindness i've been streaming ahead with has caught on. there are now others doing the same as me. offering up themselves to help ppl, encouraging fellow players. dozens of ppl will now speak up to confirm that I am indeed there to help whenever a player has doubts about my intentions. I see ppl having friendly conversations in chat instead of just swearing at each other. I can now go to some of the most "asshole" players that everyone knows for being ruthless and just peacefully hang out with them.

the server as a whole is just much nicer.

are there still toxic ppl? for sure. but ppl are just as willing to show each other kindness as they are to knock each other down.

take from this what you will. but its shown me that my efforts arent a waste. that kindness is not a waste of time.

So some of my friends and I got Path of Titans recently. Here's my sub-adult Allosaurus with a juvenile one sleeping by a river after a long day of enjoying the scenery. Hunting with and protecting the little ones are definitely the best parts. Such an awesome game!

CHAPTER REVIEW: AUGUST 2023

so, this month's chapter is entitled "BLACK MULTIVERSE", and it is our spiderverse parody. this has been a really anticipated chapter by basically everyone ever since corocoro dropped the vague summary of "different versions of black meet up"

which we thought would be something like B meeting black, or something more along those lines.

however this is a corocoro publication so it's batshit insane. this my review of the august 2023 chapter of black channel, BLACK MULTIVERSE

just like last time, panels have been edited for ease of reading the review and for flavor

so, yes this is a spiderverse parody. some characters loosely fill roles from the first spiderverse movie, but ultimately this is just the marvel blueprint for alternate universes colliding, but with black channel!

there are six AU versions of black in this chapter, but first of all let's see how we got here.

satoshi is signing another dumb contract, at least actually signing it of his own free will this time. he is receiving an item that allows him to effectively control his future by micromanaging his actions, which impact the greater multiverse

since life is a fucking nightmare for satoshi, the deal goes wrong, and the actual entire multiverse breaks when satoshi tries to view the potential outcomes for playing a gashapon machine.

satoshi wakes up and meets one of the six black AU selves we'll meet this chapter, a high school girl titled "JK BLACK"! HOWEVER, this design is not new. it first appeared in a plott thumbnail where black was catfishing a ten year old on an mmo by having an anime girl avatar, and JK black here was born!

so there IS a fanon name for this design, ブラ子 (burako / blako). i'm more used to calling this character burako, but i'll be calling her JK black for this post. outside of this i might call her burako tho

JK black and satoshi butt heads a bit as satoshi tries to track down his universe's black, only for them to meet the next black...

'NEGATIVE BLACK', a depressed old man who does onothing but chainsmoke and complain about how bored and tired he is. this is his thing. he complains and smokes

he doesn't do anything this entire chapter but sit around, look pathetic, and smoke.

soon enough, we meet the third one, DINO-BLACK. he's a fucking dinosaur. this can be interpreted as this being a universe where black made the conscious decision to become a dinosaur.

JK black explains earlier in the chapter that the multiverse essentially rolls the dice on gender when someone is born, which explains why some of the other au blacks are girls. this does NOT, however, explain why dino-black is a dinosaur.

i have to be real with you i do not have the resources or energy to explain what KARAKURI BLACK's deal is. he's a war general robot thing and there's a lot of layers to what's being lost by my inability to explain him in depth

in my defense my gf is literally in bed next to me as i write this

we have BABY BLACK, who is a flat 2d cartoon baby version of black very clearly inspired by powerpuff girls.

this one talks like, well, a baby. maybe a 3-4 year old? this one's a baby. there's not much to say about him otherwise except he's like the littlest fucking thing

and then there's...... SEXY BLACK

who is black, if he was a woman with huge tits who only cared about money. femme fatale thief black. satoshi is immediately freaked out by her because she's the least similar to black in satoshi's eyes, and this apparently includes the dinosaur

satoshi hops in between everyone, and begs them to help him find his universe's black....

...and swiftly learns that there's really no amount of multiverse fuckery that can make black stop being, at his very core, the smug motherfucker he is.

by the time all the different AUs agree to help satoshi, he finds out they're all flying off to their deaths and leaving him behind. poor satoshi

VERDICT: JESUS FUCKING CHRIST (AFFECTIONATE)

so, we all had specific expectations of this chapter. the literal only person i know who got anything about this chapter right based off the limited information we got about the story, did so because he made an offhand joke to tease me about if one of the new black AUs was an old man. dead serious only prediction that was correct that i saw anywhere

we all expected B meeting black, or anime + manga + other(?) black, or that kinda thing, and we got a fully crafted spiderverse parody. what is wrong with this fucking series. please. i love it

btw if you ever want to check out path of titans its like 30 bucks and still in active development. very fun dinosaur game. official servers are a bloodbath with no rules but the anarchy is fun and lately ive been noticing a sort of vigilante justice popping up for if someone attacks someone else unprovoked / not hungry or kills a baby. community servers are great if you want mods or to rp as a dinosaur or to exist in an actual moderated environment.

Sonar likes virtual pets- specifically any that are like tamas, nanopets, or the odd dinkie dino. They have a wide variety of pets of varying programming quality, some of which they got knowing they would be bad gameplay wise purely because they had a fun shell. Like this.

Sonar and Radar are twins, both born on October 31st, 2008.

They were made to spy on penguins discretely and as such were modelled after emperor penguin chicks appearancewise so they wouldn't arose any suspicion.

Radar sounds like Baby Talking Tattletail, but Sonar...I've actually been considering making their voiceclaim Scootaloo. Their prior voiceclaim if I commit to this was Gusty from My Little Pony's G1 cartoon.

Radar likes horses of the small, technicolor and magical variety. They also like wolves! They probably have at least one sparkledog oc.

Radar is especially close to their cousin Chauncey, who often knits new scarves for them.

Radar has a massive collection of stuffed animals.

Sonar and Radar are both mischevious, but Sonar generally gets a little too carried away in their antics.

Sonar owns a stuffed triceratops named Bonecruncher. But they're pretty embarrassed by the fact they're still attatched to it, so they often hide it in their closet or under their bed...

Because Torrent is curious about what humans get up to, Sonar asked them to teach them both human swear words since neither of them knew any.

Sonar likes to draw, and is very proficient at drawing realism.

Sonar has probably stolen accounts on many MMOs for rare items with Torrents help at least once.

Radar is a member of the Puffle Scouts, and while Sonar is not they still show up to meetings so they can have boxes of cookies.

🦖 I see him regressing to the 5-8 age range. Maybe a bittt older. Mostly involuntary.

🦖 cann be a grumpy kiddo. Very quick to getting angry and frustrated easily. prone to stop feet and flap and throw things when getting fussy! Usally the others are always there to walk him through and calm him down though!

🦖 will always insist that he doesn't need help and is a big kid!! Even if Steph is fully carrying him around - very.. kicky.. flails and punches a lot!! Lots of happy yelling! Hes just excited!

🦖 very active kiddo. Playground and park trips are his fav way to get his energy out. Hes especially competitive.. very look at how high i can swing! Watch me use the monkey bars!

🦖 regression is a good way for him to connect with his mother Bendy. Since they both regress.. bendy is able to have someone to play with and regress safely! Of cours steph and putty are always there to make sure Bendy is safe (if anything triggers her.) He doesn't find it strange at all (and he'll beat up anyone who thinks it is!)

🦖 absolutely loves dinosaurs. And anything having to do with them, when their a bit too little to read so they just stare at the cool dinosaur pictures in books. The BIGGEST collection of dino toys and merch ever.

🦖 other than dinos.. big fan of toy trucks.. especially the really big construction work and garbage disposal ones!

🦖 plays rough! knock things down! wrestles! sometimes it goes a bit too far and he has to be reminded to play nice

🦖 lil gamer baby. Not especially coordinated when small so he usually has some on over his shoulder explaining the rules gently to him and helping on the really tricky levels! Probably would play sandbox and mmo games.

🦖 like i said n the last one.. he n orel usally play together . their styles are very different! but they bond over one thing.. grabbing a camera and making homemade videos with their toys! hes super impressed with the stories orel can come up with! not that he'll every say this out loud though

🦖 gets a bit afraid of the dark when small.. so they decorate his room with some cool nightlights and glow in the dark stickers sometimes needs his older sis to sit on the edge of the bed and talk to him till he falls asleep again

🦖 fidgets! bites! sucks his thumb! he'll usually carry around a fidget cub in his back pocket and wears a chewy necklace just in case

🦖 not ashamed about his regression at all.. but theres one thing hes shy about ... and its that he still keeps his old blankie from when he was a bab.. ONLY bendy and his sister know abt this one though. very protective abt it. carrys it around when hes feeling little
